Good morning. I have used a guy ("L") to do some garden works. Recommended by a work colleague he was personable and punctual when I used him for some gardening work when I had COVID. Since he told me that he did property maintenance and gardening and I was pleased with his work thus far, I booked him to do some work on my old house which I now rent out in Surrey; repainting some old water damage after a repair and replace an old brown wooden back door showing signs of wear and rot for a new uPVC one. He said yes and needed money for the work as the door was a large lump of the cost. As it was March 2023 I gladly paid him the whole sum (£1982.25) and on the 26th July he said that all the works had been done and just needed to finish the door but was having access issues with tenent but due to complete the works on the Saturday. All good. I asked him about the £300 of gardening, he said he would come over in August. Fine.
L then said that he was having mechanical issues with his van and could not attend the gardening. Me, being understanding, said get the van fixed and let's sort another date when he's back on the road. The property inspection report done by the estate agent came through on 23rd August and my wife noticed that in the photos the back door had not been completed. In fact, there was no evidence of any of the work having been done. I was suspicious that the works had not in fact been done.
I asked my property management company and they suggested that it was unlikely to show his work in the photos, since the inspection happened in June/early July time because the works were done after the date of the property report. It was possible, they suggested, that the report was sent was after the works had been completed but the inspection was done before that was why the photos didn't match what I was being told. Probably.
The property management company / estate agent I pay for my fully managed property confirmed this might have been the case but I was still suspicious myself and unsure. I attempted to reach out to him using WhatsApp on the 22nd January, our usual line of communication, but no response.
I learnt on 4th February from the cleaner at work who knows him and recommended him in the first place that he had been caught cheating on his girlfriend on Christmas day and was attacked by her with a broken bottle and now has an arm injury preventing him from working again. It was all in the news. There is an article in the newspaper about the event. She also told me that he had a new phone number which she gave me. She also told me that he had also been drinking heavily since his mother had been diagnosed with cancer last year and she was worried the he had turned into "a bit of a deadbeat". On 5th February we agreed for him to complete the work on the 14th February.
My cleaner friend, now mortified with him too, called him and he assured her that all the work had been done. I messaged him the following week to say I was thrilled and asked for the photos. Of course I trusted but wanted to verify for myself.
I asked for the photos on the 19th February of the works that had taken place; he replied that he had gotten sepsis and had been in hospital and just got home and he had just called "the guy" he sent out to do the works and he had not done it and he was "fuming". That he had "seized trading" [sic] but wanted to make sure "this was all sorted" and "all I can do is apologise" and hope that I would understand and had booked in Saturday to give him recovery time, and then told me Tuesday, which then became the following Saturday.
He assured me that "his guy" was now rebooked the Sunday 25th February 12pm and he would personally make sure it was done. I said this would have to be the last time as I need the work done and he had now had enough time and chances and was not telling me every time he had failed to get the work done. I asked for the photos on the 26th. He replied that the guy he sent to do the works didn't show up and "he was fuming" and was going to personally oversee that the work was done. He was now appearing to me to be simply more than just unlucky. He assured me that the Sunday he would get the work done. This would be 4th March.
I chased for photos 4th March. No response. I chased on 6th March via WhatsApp. No response. The next property inspection report was sent to me on the 8th March it is clear that there has been no works done in the photos and I had reason to believe that he has not completed any of the work and still has my money. In fact, I suspect that he has no intention of doing the work at all and simply keeping the money.
On the 14th March I asked for his contact details to write to him formally within 7 days. No response.
On March 20th I looked up his email which had the original quote on it and wrote him a letter and sent that, with his original quote asking for my money back plus 8% per annum calculated to 29th March 2024 for £2140.83 for additional inconvenience and expenses I have incurred in chasing for my money back for a year now. I also sent a hard copy of the letter to his address by recorded post (which got signed for) asking for the same and needed a response by 2nd April.
No response.
I don't know what to do now. I hear from my cleaner friend that he's moved house and ghosted everyone. I checked his invoice, he is not a LTD. He's in the wind. He's not responding to letters or emails or WhatsApps and he has around £2000 of my money and simply kept it.

Basically I've read a lot saying that a new mainboard and klipper will do a world of good for the ender 5 plus, including with noise, it's a loud boi and I definitely want it quieter. I'm thinking of getting a raspberry Pi and a BTT board and I'm wanting some recommendations. What board should I get? Do I need a new screen if I get a new board, if so, what screen? Also worth mentioning, I'm in Australia so if anyone else is from here and can recommend places to buy from that'd be great. Also keep seeing stuff about TMC2209 stepper motor drivers, what are they? Are they worth it?

I'm tying to figure out what is going on here. I have Google Fi as a cell provider on a Google Pixel 8 Pro. In late March I switched my calling plan to Unlimited Plus so I could add tethering. I got my bill this month and Google Fi is saying I used 91 gigs of data total. 54 for my phone and 36 for my tethered device. My phone is only reporting 42 gigs total. 6.5 for apps on my phone and 36 for tethering. WHERE is the 48 gig discrepancy?
I don't play video games (ZERO), I don't watch videos on my phone. I don't Tik Tok, I don't edit graphics or video. I don't video chat or stream video game live streams. I don't do anything heavy data wise on my phone.
How did I go from 8-10 gigs a month data used on my phone to 54 in one month?!
When I look at my mobile data usage it says tethering was 36. The next most used was Facebook at 1.01 gigs. All my apps together only account for 6.5 gigs (and I rounded all the totals up).
Are they double dipping? Counting the data when my phone was acting as a router and then adding tethering data used thinking it's 2 different streams?
To put this in perspective, I watched about 20 hours total of Youtube TV at 240k on my tethered device. That used 36 gigs. I would have to watch almost TWICE that amount for my phone to use that kind of data. It's not possible.
Why is there such a large discrepancy between what my phone reports and what Google Fi reports?
I added this months usage to the post. We are basically half way though the month and it's a fraction of the data compared to last month. I'm doing the same thing this month as last. And if you look at the app usage, what Google Fi reports and what my phone reports are a BIG difference.
They aren't listening to me. Help me help them understand.

TLDR; friend catfished a guy for 6 months, but was upset the guy went out with someone else while they dated and that he lies about his age on the dating apps. Then, created yet another catfish profile to find him and “teach him a lesson”, threatening him by saying he knew his friends/mutuals and his real age despite the fact that the guy wasn’t out of the closet yet.
This friend and I have known each other for a good while, but never did I think they could stoop to these levels. One day they suddenly told me they’re going through a 6 month breakup which made no sense because I had never heard of them dating someone. Until I learned he was catfishing another guy for 6 months and let it go to the point of developing real feelings for each other. Note, this catfishing started when they made a fake dating profile to stalk a previous guy he dated who eventually ended things with him.
Once he confessed, the guy obviously ended things saying he needed to heal and that he can’t bring himself to try and start over. My friend swore they just needed to not focus on dating atm which I highly agreed. But then I found out that he went on a witch hunt to “teach him a lesson” for having went on a date during their 6 month period, and for lying about his age on the apps (31 pretending to be 25, claiming to be embarrassed of his lack of experience). My friend ended up finding him with yet another fake profile, matching with him, and claiming he knew his real age and his friends. To which the guy started getting very anxious and nervous in fear of being outed.
The entire time, I kept trying to encourage a healthier, more moral route to grieving from his hurt and that he needed therapy. But I felt constantly dismissed and used as a sounding board to validate this manipulative, toxic behavior. It’s clear that they don’t see anything fundamentally wrong with the catfishing, but tormenting someone and essentially threatening to out them feels insane and abusive. Time and time again, I’ve watched this type of behavior happen and enabled it by not confronting the issue. But this crosses a boundary that I’m no longer comfortable with. While they don’t act like this in their friendships, I still feel anxious that someone who I care about can act this insidious.
I really hate confrontation and ending relationships especially when our social circles may potentially overlap and I can’t deal with that awkwardness. Not to mention we have a concert next week that I invited them and another friend to, which I’m really looking forward to but now I feel like it’s ruined. I have the tickets luckily and am debating on just not going or selling their ticket to someone else. Idk, I’m just very distraught.

My last thought... An hour and 41 minutes. That's how long that live stream was and the majority of it was Seth and Tony addressing drama that Seth and Tony and basically everyone that wasn't the Proudfoot's created (with the possible exception for Chris calling in to Cluemaniti). At no point did the stream put up a picture of Sebastian. At no point did anyone say or show the number for the tip line. At no point did Seth mention what areas his volunteer searches have covered. At no point did Seth outline areas that still need to be searched. At no point did Seth give insight to Sebastian's personality that could help indentify him. If this was the very first thing I'd had seen about this case I'd know all about Seth and Tony and how they feel about things.. but Sebastian would be pretty much a mystery.

My last thought... An hour and 41 minutes. That's how long that live stream was and the majority of it was Seth and Tony addressing drama that Seth and Tony and basically everyone that wasn't the Proudfoot's created (with the possible exception for Chris calling in to Cluemaniti). At no point did the stream put up a picture of Sebastian. At no point did anyone say or show the number for the tip line. At no point did Seth mention what areas his volunteer searches have covered. At no point did Seth outline areas that still need to be searched. At no point did Seth give insight to Sebastian's personality that could help indentify him. If this was the very first thing I'd had seen about this case I'd know all about Seth and Tony and how they feel about things.. but Sebastian would be pretty much a mystery.

There must be another person on board because she chooses to trust them despite the warnings and gets locked in a glass cubicle and can't escape. There's something I remember about the the camera or audio being important because the person keeping her trapped can't hear her or something. She does slowly remember who she is and what her role was and finds a way to escape.

On March 4th I ordered one of the prebuilt machines from EKWB. I have been building my own machines since around 2000. I'm starting to get old and the idea of building a new PC wasn't all that appealing to me. So I went shopping. Had trouble finding something with hard tube water cooling. Then I happened to see the beauties EKWB was selling. So I pulled the trigger and ordered one. Insane money but everyone I ever built was insane. I fretted over the six to eight week turn around. Two or three days later I see the stuff on here about the trouble in EKWB. Got in touch by email with the people in customer service. Response time was good but was a bit troubled about the new location on the west coast of America. I wasn't sure why that would slow my build down Over the 9 week time frame I was getting progressively more grumpy. I was about to do a charge back today but I got an email from FedEx saying they had my shipment. I should have it by the end of the week.

So I have been reading Deepnight Revelations, and I like the idea of Abstracting a Transit, and am wondering if there is a system for doing such things in actual charted space. Say, the Travellers are in the Solomani Front, and you place them in a journey Coreward, toward the Spinewarch Marches, up through Core, do do a couple adventures in each area before you set them on the road to say the Ancients campaign.
a J2 trip from Terra to Kirbarus is 71 jumps, over a year, and a lot of rolls for a lot of things. Including Trade and all that. So, a system to do long distance travel, using possibly a similar system of Reaches would be handy, with events and such determining specific events during each Reach, that can be used as a jump into an adventure between the Solomani Front to Core and Core to Spinward Marches, and then throwing in some of the other adventures to spice life up.
If anyone knows of a system to do this, in any of the incarnations, including Cepheus, please share, I would be much obliged.

I'm signing for my new condo on Wednesday and I'm feeling grateful and excited that I was able to find a home for only 100k, which is less than my annual income. It's a 2 bedroom with a balcony and laundry hookups. The HOA covers water, heating, and cooling. My monthly payment will be $500 less than my current rent + the aforementioned utilities. On top of that, the landlord proposed a rent hike of an additional $300/month which I'm happy to be dodging. The kitchen and bathroom are a bit old but totally functional and not ugly. I'm single and I have no interest in coupling up, so the space is more than adequate for my needs. The neighborhood is quiet and I had the opportunity to meet some neighbors before buying who all said they enjoyed the complex. My interest rate sucks but I should be able to pay off the loan in a couple years since I'm buying way below what the bank approved me for.

I had to sign a paper to say I did not get benefits. The day and time they specified was during an ice storm so I had to call in and give my 2 weeks rather than getting fired. I'm from Missouri so these storms have been happening frequently as of recently.

They aren't even hiding their hate and nazi behavior. They are owning it. This was just going up 28, then taking the butler exit. It was on the highway, twice!

There’s 3 people involved in this. We’ll call my fiancé Emma and her coworker is Ryan (not their real names). Some background first. Emma is a high school teacher. We’ve been dating since 2020, recently engaged in march and found out we’re pregnant a few days after that. This all started in 2022. Emma is in charge of hosting a dance and she got a call from Ryan after work hours. I mentioned why it couldn’t be an email and it turned into a huge fight. I ended up helping out at the dance and Ryan grabbed her hip inappropriately. She told me and I thanked her for telling me but then proceeded to text him after the dance. I told her I was uncomfortable with that which then lead to another fight. A couple weeks later Ryan face timed her and again I told her I didn’t like that. She told me she talked to him at work about leaving her alone and it seemed to settle out after that. She told me Ryan went to a different school and we didn’t bring him up again. That all happened in 2022. Today Ryan reached out to me on social media and sent me screenshots of conversations they’ve been having for the past couple months and that they were talking during that time around 2022. Ryan told me that she was telling him we were broken up during that time and she also said how bad I treated her. Ryan also said that I haven’t gone to any of the ultrasounds with her and I’m still treating her bad. (All a lie) He kept saying he was sorry and I thanked him for reaching out. Today I confronted Emma and of course she lied until I told her I had proof. She then broke down and said how sorry she was and wants to stay together. They both said that nothing physical ever happened but they met up a couple times and would see each other at school all the time. He told me he definitely flirted with her and wanted to be with her but the communication wasn’t there and that he didn’t know we were together. I honestly don’t know how to handle this since we have a little girl coming. The thing that’s bothering me the most is that she is a very jealous person and always asked me if I was talking to other girls or if any girls were hitting on me if I went out and did something. So I guess my question to everyone is how they would handle this? My main priority is our daughter and being the best father I can be but idk if staying together just for her is right. Any advice is appreciated and I’ll answer any questions to clear things up.

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is without doubt and still is to this day one of the most influential, powerful, and iconic figures in American history due to his steadfast and nonviolent commitment in the fight for Civil Rights, Equality, and Justice during Jim Crow Segregation in the United States. The highlight of his career as an activist came in 1963 in which he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech in front of Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. in which he envisioned a nation in which his children will be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. This resulted in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to be passed. Even after his assassination in 1968, his legacy inspired many similar Civil Rights Movements around the world.
Today, Martin Luther King, Jr. is hailed by both sides of the American political sphere as a beacon of hope on how to fight for justice and equality for all during turbulent times. But it's the Conservatives who constantly claim that they truly support him and follow his dream, especially in modern times and they've expressed it in a rather whitewashed and partisan fashion. The most obvious being their use of his "I Have a Dream" speech by quoting the one line that has often been cherry-picked and misinterpreted quite a lot in which they judge people not by skin but by their character. The main reason they do this is to give them the appearance that they are colorblind as their way of opposing racism. And in doing so, they consistently criticize Liberals of trying to divide the country into special interest groups and promote favoritism. As a result, they always claim that Dr. King is a Republican, let alone would've been one in this era given his views, along with the fact that he was a Christian. His niece, Alveda King even emphasized it herself.
Some of the ways that Conservatives try to supposedly live up to Dr. King's "colorblind" dream is by opposing supposed "Wokeness", Critical Race Theory, and the practice of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion everywhere. They also express it by opposing Affirmative Action and the use of racial quotas when it comes to applying for schools, universities, and jobs because they believe it causes Reverse Discrimination. In terms of nonviolence, Conservatives express their disapproval of the Black Lives Matter movement. On the basis of Christianity, Conservatives believe that Dr. King supported a fixed moral code as indicated in his Letters from Birmingham Jail since he led with love and not racial hatred by changing the lives of people and not the laws itself, along with the notion of self-sufficiency. Seeing all this, it seems like Conservatives are really desperate to prove how much America has progressed in this post-racial world in order to debunk accusations that it isn't a racist country and that's why they always prop up Dr. King by claiming that they follow his dream and will continue to do so. Well.....up until now.
During this year's Martin Luther King Day, a string of prominent Conservative activists and organizations suddenly turned on him. Starting off with Charlie Kirk of the youth Conservative movement Turning Point USA, who launched a blistering anti-MLK campaign in which he supposedly dispelled the alleged myths surrounding his popularity. He accused Dr. King of being a "bad person" and that his "sainthood will cause Black voters to realize it's being used against them to suppress the individual." He even went further by stating that "we made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s" accusing it as "a way to get rid of the First Amendment". A while ago, the organization marketed the Conservative image of Dr. King when they sold $55 T-Shirts with his name as well as stickers of him with the words "Let Freedom Ring". Kirk was later joined by the Daily Wire's Matt Walsh who accused him of being a "communist". In fact, he railed against Dr. King a few years ago by accusing him of being a Womanizer, Adulterer, Plagiarizer, etc. Coming after Walsh was Human Events editor, conspiracy theorist, and fellow Turning Point USA alumna Jack Posobiec, who labeled Dr. King "a God of the Left" and stating that "the real legacy of the 1960s was enshrining Racial Discrimination and Race Consciousness into the Federal Bureaucracy." And finally, a popular Conservative Twitter account called "EndWokeness" called Dr. King "a Racial Marxist" because he "did not support a Colorblind Meritocracy" after it cited his quote on Wealth Distribution. What's even worse is that even non-White Conservatives hate him. Two examples include a commentator named Vince Everett Ellison and former football player and sports columnist, Jason Whitlock. The latest editions to the lineup of Black Guilt Conservatives, they railed against Dr. King and the passing of the Civil Rights by stating that they worsened the Black community by drifting them away from God into "Democratic Dependency". They even accused him of the same crimes as Walsh did.
With the sudden change in tone and emphasis from the Right against Dr. King, you have to ask yourself why they're doing this and what caused them to believe this way. And this is not an extremist fringe of the Right that some would expect to hear from. All of these are Mainstream Right-Wing Figures who have direct lineage to the GOP, including the current presidential nominee, Donald Trump. That's as Establishment you can get. Their remarks have been criticized by a lot of people from both sides and surprisingly by some Black Conservatives. One of them was Pastor Darrell Scott, a former faith advisor of Trump, who these days, is one of a few Black Conservatives who has been calling out other Black Conservatives for tearing down their own race in order to elevate their status among others, a very notorious habit of them. He criticized Kirk for inspiring a Hitler Youth. Another was Kimberly Klacik, who in 2020, gained viral for her campaign video stating that Black Lives don't matter to Democrats when she was running for Maryland's 7th Congressional District following the death of civil rights leader, Elijah Cummings, who was the incumbent. She criticized Kirk for his remarks stating that his rhetoric will prevent Blacks from voting Republican. Even with that said, there have been instances in which Conservatives themselves have questioned the Civil Rights Act and many of them have been pretty negative. If you check out other Conservative websites and especially here on Reddit, many of their criticisms echo the same sentiments as those Pundits stating that it was unconstitutional and that in infringed on the First Amendment, particularly the Notion of Freedom of Association.
That being said, there is some silver lining to this. Now, that they exposed themselves for what they really of think Dr. King, I think it's time for them to admit that they never really liked him in the first place, let alone understood who he really was and what he really stood for. In fact, they never really liked him at all. All they did was whitewash him and cherry-pick his ideas and speech for own Partisan Agenda. Dr. King constantly talked about the notion of Black Pride and campaigned about the need for Reparations. He also supported Affirmative Action stating in 1965 that "a Society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for the Negro. Dr. King realized that our society was created in a way that managed to disadvantage the many for the benefit the few, and that America's Racial Hierarchy was connected to its Class Hierarchy. He also had political beliefs that manifested through both Racial Reconciliation and Concrete Policy Changes that could help restructure and benefit a divided and unequal nation. This is the reason why he referred to himself as a Democratic Socialist as he wanted a "Radical Redistribution of Economic and Political Power". In fact, he argued that true Equality can only be achieved, not just through legal rights, but through an equal distribution of resources. This is evident when he said “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.” This is the exact vision that Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders believed in. After all, he did participate in the March on Washington in 1963. In regards to Police Brutality, while Dr. King opposed violent protest, he did acknowledge that a riot is the language of the Unheard and that it came from a place of Desperation. In fact, in his "I Have a Dream" Speech, he stated that Blacks could "never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the Victim of the Unspeakable Horrors of Police Brutality." After all, he was hounded by the FBI, was called a Communist, broke the law in protest of race-based Segregation and Violence, was thrown in jail, advocated Protests and Sit-Ins, opposed White Rule of Society, and was assassinated for his Race and his views on Race. If anything, this goes to show that is Dr. King were around today, he would be heavily criticized for being Woke, politically correct, a Communist, a Race Hustler, and a member of the Radical Left. And we all know that the Right hates those ideologies passionately. But here's the thing, he never considered himself a Democrat, let alone a Republican. He was an Independent as he felt that both parties are the same. And reducing his legacy to a single quote diminishes the gains that he fought for and believed in. This especially goes to a lot of Conservatives out there who claim to follow his lead using that quote because they interpret them in a way that benefits them today than how he meant them back then. For you to claim that he didn't care about Skin Color is like saying Susan B. Anthony didn't care about Gender. And to those Conservatives who now hate him, including Black, I hope you're OK with people getting treated unfairly, including your own. Who knew being seen as an Equal is a Negative in your eyes.

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is without doubt and still is to this day one of the most influential, powerful, and iconic figures in American history due to his steadfast and nonviolent commitment in the fight for Civil Rights, Equality, and Justice during Jim Crow Segregation in the United States. The highlight of his career as an activist came in 1963 in which he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech in front of Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. in which he envisioned a nation in which his children will be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. This resulted in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to be passed. Even after his assassination in 1968, his legacy inspired many similar Civil Rights Movements around the world.
Today, Martin Luther King, Jr. is hailed by both sides of the American political sphere as a beacon of hope on how to fight for justice and equality for all during turbulent times. But it's the Conservatives who constantly claim that they truly support him and follow his dream, especially in modern times and they've expressed it in a rather whitewashed and partisan fashion. The most obvious being their use of his "I Have a Dream" speech by quoting the one line that has often been cherry-picked and misinterpreted quite a lot in which they judge people not by skin but by their character. The main reason they do this is to give them the appearance that they are colorblind as their way of opposing racism. And in doing so, they consistently criticize Liberals of trying to divide the country into special interest groups and promote favoritism. As a result, they always claim that Dr. King is a Republican, let alone would've been one in this era given his views, along with the fact that he was a Christian. His niece, Alveda King even emphasized it herself.
Some of the ways that Conservatives try to supposedly live up to Dr. King's "colorblind" dream is by opposing supposed "Wokeness", Critical Race Theory, and the practice of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion everywhere. They also express it by opposing Affirmative Action and the use of racial quotas when it comes to applying for schools, universities, and jobs because they believe it causes Reverse Discrimination. In terms of nonviolence, Conservatives express their disapproval of the Black Lives Matter movement. On the basis of Christianity, Conservatives believe that Dr. King supported a fixed moral code as indicated in his Letters from Birmingham Jail since he led with love and not racial hatred by changing the lives of people and not the laws itself, along with the notion of self-sufficiency. Seeing all this, it seems like Conservatives are really desperate to prove how much America has progressed in this post-racial world in order to debunk accusations that it isn't a racist country and that's why they always prop up Dr. King by claiming that they follow his dream and will continue to do so. Well.....up until now.
During this year's Martin Luther King Day, a string of prominent Conservative activists and organizations suddenly turned on him. Starting off with Charlie Kirk of the youth Conservative movement Turning Point USA, who launched a blistering anti-MLK campaign in which he supposedly dispelled the alleged myths surrounding his popularity. He accused Dr. King of being a "bad person" and that his "sainthood will cause Black voters to realize it's being used against them to suppress the individual." He even went further by stating that "we made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s" accusing it as "a way to get rid of the First Amendment". A while ago, the organization marketed the Conservative image of Dr. King when they sold $55 T-Shirts with his name as well as stickers of him with the words "Let Freedom Ring". Kirk was later joined by the Daily Wire's Matt Walsh who accused him of being a "communist". In fact, he railed against Dr. King a few years ago by accusing him of being a Womanizer, Adulterer, Plagiarizer, etc. Coming after Walsh was Human Events editor, conspiracy theorist, and fellow Turning Point USA alumna Jack Posobiec, who labeled Dr. King "a God of the Left" and stating that "the real legacy of the 1960s was enshrining Racial Discrimination and Race Consciousness into the Federal Bureaucracy." And finally, a popular Conservative Twitter account called "EndWokeness" called Dr. King "a Racial Marxist" because he "did not support a Colorblind Meritocracy" after it cited his quote on Wealth Distribution. What's even worse is that even non-White Conservatives hate him. Two examples include a commentator named Vince Everett Ellison and former football player and sports columnist, Jason Whitlock. The latest editions to the lineup of Black Guilt Conservatives, they railed against Dr. King and the passing of the Civil Rights by stating that they worsened the Black community by drifting them away from God into "Democratic Dependency". They even accused him of the same crimes as Walsh did.
With the sudden change in tone and emphasis from the Right against Dr. King, you have to ask yourself why they're doing this and what caused them to believe this way. And this is not an extremist fringe of the Right that some would expect to hear from. All of these are Mainstream Right-Wing Figures who have direct lineage to the GOP, including the current presidential nominee, Donald Trump. That's as Establishment you can get. Their remarks have been criticized by a lot of people from both sides and surprisingly by some Black Conservatives. One of them was Pastor Darrell Scott, a former faith advisor of Trump, who these days, is one of a few Black Conservatives who has been calling out other Black Conservatives for tearing down their own race in order to elevate their status among others, a very notorious habit of them. He criticized Kirk for inspiring a Hitler Youth. Another was Kimberly Klacik, who in 2020, gained viral for her campaign video stating that Black Lives don't matter to Democrats when she was running for Maryland's 7th Congressional District following the death of civil rights leader, Elijah Cummings, who was the incumbent. She criticized Kirk for his remarks stating that his rhetoric will prevent Blacks from voting Republican. Even with that said, there have been instances in which Conservatives themselves have questioned the Civil Rights Act and many of them have been pretty negative. If you check out other Conservative websites and especially here on Reddit, many of their criticisms echo the same sentiments as those Pundits stating that it was unconstitutional and that in infringed on the First Amendment, particularly the Notion of Freedom of Association.
That being said, there is some silver lining to this. Now, that they exposed themselves for what they really of think Dr. King, I think it's time for them to admit that they never really liked him in the first place, let alone understood who he really was and what he really stood for. In fact, they never really liked him at all. All they did was whitewash him and cherry-pick his ideas and speech for own Partisan Agenda. Dr. King constantly talked about the notion of Black Pride and campaigned about the need for Reparations. He also supported Affirmative Action stating in 1965 that "a Society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for the Negro. Dr. King realized that our society was created in a way that managed to disadvantage the many for the benefit the few, and that America's Racial Hierarchy was connected to its Class Hierarchy. He also had political beliefs that manifested through both Racial Reconciliation and Concrete Policy Changes that could help restructure and benefit a divided and unequal nation. This is the reason why he referred to himself as a Democratic Socialist as he wanted a "Radical Redistribution of Economic and Political Power". In fact, he argued that true Equality can only be achieved, not just through legal rights, but through an equal distribution of resources. This is evident when he said “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.” This is the exact vision that Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders believed in. After all, he did participate in the March on Washington in 1963. In regards to Police Brutality, while Dr. King opposed violent protest, he did acknowledge that a riot is the language of the Unheard and that it came from a place of Desperation. In fact, in his "I Have a Dream" Speech, he stated that Blacks could "never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the Victim of the Unspeakable Horrors of Police Brutality." After all, he was hounded by the FBI, was called a Communist, broke the law in protest of race-based Segregation and Violence, was thrown in jail, advocated Protests and Sit-Ins, opposed White Rule of Society, and was assassinated for his Race and his views on Race.
