This is somewhat of a part two to my first post which got a LOT more attention than I thought it would, holy crap. Thank you all so much for the words of encouragement and for the advice on how to deal with this and to those who shared their own stories as well! I enjoyed reading through it all, and I thought the middle child and home alone jokes were very funny lol. I noticed a lot of comments about the contact names and I can’t believe it needs to be said, but the nicknames I have for my parents and my family group chat are not mean spirited or meant to be an insult. I have funny names in my contacts for all of my friends and family and all of these names have something to do with an inside joke that they are aware of. My mom liked her nickname so much my parents later made it the router name too. Also the Dork squad is a group chat. I’m not the one who made the name and even if I was, all of my family can see it. They don’t care, they think it’s funny. Anyways, I know it’s been awhile since my first post came out. I wasn’t really planning on posting an update since, I’ll be honest, the amount of attention the first one got was incredibly unexpected and a bit overwhelming for a bit. 😅 But unfortunately the drama continues, so…Heres to part two! (Im not entirely sure if this still technically belongs in mildly infuriating, someone let me know if this needs to be moved and I will move it thanks) I want to start by saying that my parents are terrible communicators and this is not the first time they have forgotten to tell me something that is going on. This has been an issue my entire childhood where plans are made and I’m expected to be able to drop everything to go with them despite them not telling me about it until the last minute. This was especially a problem when I was doing online school and still living with them. It would happen so often where I would have assignments due on certain days and have time put aside in advance for myself to finish them to then get sprung with a surprise “Get in the car, didn’t we tell you it’s your grandpas birthday dinner tonight? Its time to go right now!” So then I’m forced to choose between my grade and an event I could have made it too much easier if I had known I needed to plan my time around it. I’ve tried expressing my frustrations at them many many times but they always just buckle down and refuse to admit any fault. It always gets turned on me somehow and the times where they’ve halfheartedly said that they will do better they never actually do. Though I find it incredibly annoying, I still love my parents and I know the miscommunication is never done intentionally, (at least not until recently but I’ll get into that in a bit) and though our relationship hasn’t always been 100% and we’ve had our rocky patches I still want to have a good relationship with them. So I decided to still go to the resort. I’ll spare the details of that trip because it was only a couple days and not super eventful, but I did TRY to have a conversation with my parents again while I was there. I barely got a sentence in about it when my mom accused me of “attacking her” and again the blame was put on me. “Everybody else knew about it so clearly you’re the problem.” I know my memory isn’t the best, but they never even told me when they were planning on going up. Was I supposed to read their mind?? I hadn’t meant to start a confrontation, I only wanted to express why the lack of communication had frustrated me and to suggest that they try to use the group chat more often but of course like usual they didn’t want to hear it and only got more defensive so I quickly shut up about it and didn’t say anything more. This response isn’t anything new so…Whatever. I shove my feelings aside and just try to have fun with my siblings and hope that at least some of what I said will reach them and encourage them to be better. Boy it did not… A week goes by, it’s now Mother’s Day and im invited for dinner. My brother is back from college, all the siblings are there, things are great. I ask my dad if our grandparents are coming over since they usually come by every year for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day dinners. My dad looks at me and says that they had gone to visit them yesterday and that I should have known that since I had been invited. I am incredibly confused because I know FOR SURE I had not heard this was happening. I try to explain that I hadn’t heard ANYTHING but dad insisted that my mom had called me and that I had said that I had work and couldn’t make it. I told him no, that definitely didn’t happen and tried to insist that nobody had told me anything. He responded by accusing me of forgetting, saying it shouldn’t be his job to remind me of things etc etc… I agree, but how am I supposed to remember something I was never told about?! Whatever. I don’t like getting into arguments and he was so sure in his claims I honestly started to doubt whether maybe my mom actually HAD called me or not. It wasn’t until dinner when all of us were there and the conversation of grandparents came up again that we figured out what happened. My mom with a big smile on her face very proudly admitted to the family that she had intentionally not invited me, and more than that had lied to my dad about having done so. His entire face fell. She says she had done it because she knew I’d be upset at her for not telling her sooner so she decided not to tell me at all. She explained this while still smiling like it was a funny joke. At first response I was relieved to have been right about not knowing about it, but by the end of dinner the emotions had set in and I went into the other room to cry. I don’t even care that I missed it, I don’t think I could have made it anyways with my work schedule, I’m just more upset that she made the effort to exclude me. I can forgive it being an accident if they forgot, but she made the conscious choice to leave me out then admitted it to my face while expecting me to just laugh it off?? it feels like I expressed to her something I was upset about and she reacted by doing it again but much worse just to punish me for being upset. I wanted to leave right then but apart of myself was trying to reason that I was just overreacting and getting upset over something that wasn’t a big deal. It wasn’t until I talked to some friends about it that I came to the conclusion that yeah. That was messed up. Im just not sure what to do about it now. Talking about it with her will just make her defensive and knowing both of my parents nothing will ever actually change. |

When I was 12 it was my sister's birthday and she invited her friend who was also our neighbor (who I will call n) over for the party. N was 9 at the time. My parents ordered a giant inflatable slide for the party and at one point during the party me my sister and n were all playing on the inflatable slide. For some reason my 12 year old brain decided that I wanted to touch ns foot/feet because I had a foot fetish when I was 12. I think just because I wanted to touch feet due to my fetish and I guess i never touched a girls feet before so stupid 12 year old me decided that this was my opportunity to do so and from what I can remember it had nothing to do with n in my head as I wasn't attracted to her because she was too young I simply only was focused on her feet. So I literally came up with a game for me my sister and n to play where they had to run away from me and I had to try and catch them but for me I created the game just for an opportunity to grab/touch ns foot when I was chasing her but mostly my plan was to grab it when she went down the slide. From what I can remember I was successful a few times and I got to grab ns feet and I can't remember if I would feel around her foot or if I just grabbed it but the possibly that I might have felt around it scares me a lot even though i I don't think i did and I think I just grabbed the foot. I also might have tried to hold on to it as long as possible so probably around like 2 3 seconds and I feel disgusting for this and like I was a disgusting pedo especially because I think she was 3 years younger and I'm also afraid that what I did was sexual harassment or assault. Like I said it had nothing to do with n in my dumb 12 year old mind and more so with her feet and just the opportunity to get a chance to touch feet but it still makes my stomach sink and I don't know if I deserve to live anymore remembering this.

I met a friend of mine through some old roommates that I didn't really like for a number of reasons. After I moved out, we hung out all the time and I expressed that I wasn't really that interested in maintaining connection with my old roommates even though we were all part of the same friend group for a while, and she expressed that she didn't want to take sides. Over time, I started to notice her venting more and more about them and other friends to me when we hung out one one one. I didn't think too much of it at first because I just saw the venting sessions as me supporting a friend who had been supporting me.
Later, she goes on a trip with one of them, has a horrible time, and vents to me about how she never wants to be friends with him again and that saying awful things about him. This is when I started getting the ick because if she's saying that kind of stuff about them to me behind their back when she's upset, what is she saying about me? Fast forward a weeks later and she tells me that she's made up with them, didn't feel the need to tell me, and that she is inviting them to a party that she invited me to.
I told her I didn't feel comfortable going if they were going to be there, and that it felt weird that she pulled such a quick 180 after all the things she said. She responded and said that she shouldn't be held accountable for things she said when she's angry. So I decided not to go. Eventually I just started distancing myself from her and only hanging out in group settings because I started doubting my ability to trust her. When I was ready to talk, I tried reaching back out, and then she would make plans with me and then either cancel last minute or just tell me that she's too busy because she has other things going on.
One day I saw her at the coffee shop we used to work from home from with the roommate that she was talking so poorly about after telling me that she didn't have time to work from home anymore whenever I tried and make plans with her, and it felt so awkward. I texted her after and said that it felt like she was giving me the run around, that I felt really disrespected, and that at this point I didn't think this was a friendship I could sustain but that I wished her the best out of respect of our past friendship.
All she said is that she was "prioritizing herself and that she wouldn't apologize for that." A few days later she tried to wish me a happy birthday and I responded out of courtesy after two days, but I'm just feeling really weirded by this person using me as a venting session and then dropping me for the friends she's constantly venting about. I feel like I made a mistake in trusting her and it's been making me feel sad.

Posting here because I need help/advice. I 28f have been with my bf 27m for 5 years now. My bf has difficulty holding down jobs. He was always looking for something better which was fine. However last year he quit his job and took on drinking and taking edibles daily. It’s embarrassing to admit but I stayed thru it all. He used insta cart and doordash to make his monthly bills but it’s not enough. I’ll pitch I here and there to help with his car payment. I’ll break down in bullet points bc i don’t know how else to tell my story.
Holidays: For Christmas I bought his family gifts and had him say it was from both of us. I knew they were getting us gifts and I didn’t want to get something without giving them something?? None of my family knows how bad it is. I’m really close to them and I just brush things off. I lied and told them he finally found a job but he hasn’t. I didn’t get a Christmas gift. But I gave him money. He took me to a steak house for my birthday. Paid for it. Then asked I pay back for my meal bc he miscalculated and needed the money. He did buy me flowers for Valentine’s Day. I bought us an expensive dinner for his bday. I will admit I like a certain type of lifestyle even if I can’t afford it so I may overspend on things.
Addiction: Recently he lost his wallet which meant no Id which meant he couldn’t go to the dispensary or buy alcohol. He ended up finding his wallet but I offered to hold onto his id. It was going well but one day I left an expired id with him so he could buy a beer. I left and came back 24hrs later and he was drunk at 5pm. He gets overly emotional and depressed when he’s drunk and I don’t know what to do other than comfort him. Before I would say I was going to storm off or leave him and that would send him into a deeper spiral so now I nod and try to appease him.
Credit card debt: I’ve been swiping my card for food and drinks for both of us. He uses my car for DoorDash which means I pay for the gas. Before he quit his job (he had been unemployed for 3 months before his most recent job) he really wanted and oled tv and asked I put it on my card and he would pay me back. He made payments for the three months that he was employed then stopped. He ended up selling the tv it was $1,100 he kept the money to pay his bills and buy weed. I finished paying off the card myself. I’m in such a hole borrowing money in hopes I can cover my ass until the next paycheck. I got a part time job im starting soon which should help me a lot. I make a decent wage.
Financially irresponsible: we went on a trip to the casino (he was still employed at this time) I booked the hotel on my credit card. He ended up winning $5,000!!! The first night there. Want to guess what he did next??? He took copious amounts of edibles and blew $3,000 of it on more gambling. He won another $1,000 and also blew that. With the remainder he bought a pc AND I had to beg him to pay me for his half of the hotel room. He did pay for dinners and lunch while we stayed there.
Promises: he says he’ll pay me back. I’ve helped him make his car payments. I help him with food. He says things are going to change. He paints this really pretty picture that I so badly want to be true. But it’s MAY 2024. He quit his job June 2023. He promised me Christmas he promised me my birthday gifts. All which fell flat. And now I just feel like a fool. He says once he starts working he’ll pay me back.
I’ve been helping him apply to place none call him back. He also can’t pass a drug test currently.
Relationship: aside from the money I think we’re okay? We trust each other we love each other. When we’re together we’re always laughing and having a good time. We get along. On weekends we take turns on who gets to pick the movie. He’ll watch twilight and mean girls with me.
The only thing is when he is in withdrawal or hungover he becomes easily agitated and needs space to calm down. The worst he’s done is raise his voice and so do I. Normally he just needs to walk it off or blow off the steam and things get better. He’ll hyper fixate on something I did and call me out on it. I’ll apologize but he won’t let off of it when he gets like that there is nothing I can say to change things. In my mind if I did something wrong I get it I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do to change it? But if he lies or does something he brushes it off and gets upset with me for being upset at his lying?! He’s a terrible texter and never answers his phone. If I needed immediate help I’d be out of luck. But I always have to be there for him. Let’s say he’s having a bad day he needs me there and wants me there. I have to drop everything and if I don’t he feels bad and guilt trips me.

Inferno! Last time we did this was on the 17th of January. Pretty intense row to run where the goal is get as far as possible in the 23 minute block.
Today's focus is accumulating distance on the rower in an epic row to run.
Row / Tread Block - 23 minutes * Reset your row monitor and set it up for a 23 minute count down * 100m AO row, 160m (0.1 miles) (PW 80m / 0.05 miles) tread * 200m AO row, 160m (0.1 miles) (PW 80m / 0.05 miles) tread * 300m AO row, 160m (0.1 miles) (PW 80m / 0.05 miles) tread * For each subsequent round add 100m to the row (same tread distance), repeat until the finisher: 1 min AO row * Record your total row distance
Floor Block 1 - 8 minutes * Back to back: * 10 total x TRX alligator * 10 x bench chest fly * 10 total x seated reciprocating shoulder press, rest * 12 total x alt low side plank
Floor Block 2 - 8 minutes * Back to back: * 10 x TRX high row to bicep curl * 10 x reverse fly * 10 total x high plank pull through, rest * 12 total x bird dog
Floor Block 3 - 4 minutes back to back superset * 12 x reverse crunch * 12 total x dead bug, rest * Repeat until finisher: 1 minute of either reverse crunch or dead bug at an increased intensity

Don’t bother signing into the treadmill today as you will need all your logged distance on the rower! \ \ You start on the rower and set it to a 23 minute countdown. Row 100m and hop off (without signing out of the rower) and on to the treadmill. If you are a jogger / runner you will run 160m (power walkers are half distance) before getting off to do the next row round of 200m. Repeat this and continue to add 100m to the distance each round until you get to the last minute where you are doing an all out row. Record your total distance in the challenge tracker and you are done with the most intense part of this template. \ \ A few of the tips I have for the row / run are: \ - Go as fast you can manage on the treadmill - I start at an all out and may have to drop speed a bit on the later rounds but you want to get the treadmill done quickly. \ - Consider doing this benchmark as a power walker if you are a jogger or on the border line of runner - you can probably power walk half the runner distance faster than you can run it. I don't really bother logging into the treadmill at all as it just takes time away from your rower. \ - As you reach your row distance goal each round, give the handle a big pull as the distance will keep accumulating as you hop off and get back to the run. \ \ No PR today - I had Mrs DC’s birthday dinner last night so a bit of 🍷 probably got between me and a PR but still happy with 4527m. To be honest, having done this one a few times now I am just happy with being reasonably consistent rather than trying to kill myself for a leaderboard mention. We have a few folk in our studio that can crush over 5000m so I am pretty far off those distances! \ \ The floor work is either prep work for the row to run or a bit of a cool down to be honest. Three blocks - first two uses weights and the TRX strap and the last block is a core blast. I went a bit lighter as I was toast after the row to run. Hey guys I’m a 24M and she’s a 21F. She loves me to death, we live together and she is pretty great. I come home to dinner made, clean clothes, and a clean house generally. We all have our off days and I help out too. Backstory of we met on tinder about 2 years ago. Was a fling for a few weeks and I cut her off as I didn’t care for it at the time. Then came around my birthday a few months later and I got drunk and messaged her. She came up a couple days later to a visit and I had the same intentions as before and she grew on me but deep down those intentions to cut her off were still there. I know. I know what a dick move.
Anyways over a year later. A few family gatherings and such. Her parents like me and my parents like her and all is well. Deep down I do love her and care for her but why do I feel attracted to others still and have the thought of wanting to be single? Is that a thought that happens to most people? This relationship is no where near toxic or a nusince. But at the same time I’m just ready to be single again but then I think I would genuinely miss her. She does cook great and does have great WAP.
Another thing is her family is very religious being Christians which is not an issue it’s just it being brought up every occasion being mentioned they are a christian family and I respect them for that. I didn’t grow up in religious family. I believe in aliens, reincarnation, and other such things and she doesn’t but she respects what I believe in too. Anyways just something that gets under my skin sometimes.
Honestly I’m not sure where to go about this conversation. Does it sound like I love her? I know this is just the tip of knowing about us. Is it just a part of figuring out life?
I definitely had a past relationship that wrecked me. I sold everything I owned and bought my grandparents lake house. Took everything I had to purchase it but I love it. Even with it having all of its issues. I restarted once and wouldn’t mind restarting again but not moving this time around.
We laugh, we love, and some days just aren’t our best but generally we have very good days and she is like my best friend. She likes reinsurance that I like and love her and I do but I don’t feel like it’s forever.
Is this just a thing of figuring out life?
If anyone has any input to validate what I’m feeling that would be fantastic. I don’t see this relationship going anywhere south if I don’t say anything now.

I've had a rocky relationship with my brother for some time. Since high school and continuing through college, he's had an entitlement issue where if he wants/needs something, he must have it. And if he didn't get it, he'd explode and get into huge arguments. He only acted this way around our parents and me. He appeared normal with everyone else and had a good friend group and relationships. This led to him having little appreciation for us. Once he graduated high school he never returned home to visit. At his college graduation, he got blackout drunk the night before, barely managed to walk through graduation, and then texted us after saying he was going to sleep and that we could leave (we drove 4 hours). At my graduation, I attempted to rekindle the relationship and invited him to my graduation and dinner afterward. At the time I assumed he had a somewhat good time even though he was apprehensive to be with us and was hard to talk to. Since then, we've on and off chatted, mainly him talking me up as if everything is fine and I'd respond.
Main Issue:
In 2021, when he was in law school (different state), he had one such outburst. His train was delayed on a test day and with no internet connection was freaking out about studying. He called our parents and began panic complaining and shouting, with my parents not able to do anything realistically. He wanted them to help him study when they were busy. After they told him to stop harass-calling them, he texted me and called to try to get them to answer. I told him squarely not to shout and talk down to me as if I were his servant and wouldn't take the harassment. When he continued, I hung up and silenced him. He later texted me that day and said the following: "Fine, block my number then, not like you hit me up or anything. You force me down to watch you walk across the stage at your graduation, least you could do is tell Mom to stop being so bitchy. Make my day, block me. you never say happy birthday to me anyways." To be fair, yes that's true about me not reaching out to him as much. That stems from how I viewed his actions in the past, how we don't have anything in common, and how he abandoned us essentially.
Since then I've done just that. I blocked his number, except my laptop was still connected to his number, was never able to block it there for some reason, but I left it be for curiosity's sake for if he'd ever attempt to talk again. And he has, reaching out on my birthday, trying to start up conversations and asking me questions, etc. All the while never acknowledging what happened. Just talking as if our old relationship was fine.
It's been 2.5 years since then, 5 years since my graduation, haven't seen him in person since then. A part of me never wants to talk again on the principal of how he acted towards me and how my attempt to bring the family together and share a moment was received as a nuisance for him. Plus the fact of how he acts towards our parents. Another side of me says life is short and that, according to my parents, he has improved since then, calling and reaching out to our parents, having conversations, and showing some appreciation. Should I give him another chance and reach out with a caveat of how I've felt and why I went silent with him? My bf and will be visiting my brother and his fiancé in San Diego at the beginning of June and want to celebrate my birthday while out there. My top priority is amazing food, otherwise we are open to pretty much any cuisine besides sushi. I'm looking for a place that is unique or interesting, the kind of experience we couldn't get anywhere else. I love things like open kitchen/chef's counter, live music, trendy/moody atmosphere or hidden gem kind of feel (for reference, some places we have been and loved are Born and Raised, Juniper and Ivy, Black Radish). Ideally, we'd like to stay under $200pp including drinks, but can be flexible. We were looking at doing the Blank Table dinner, but can't decide if it's worth it given you don't know where it is or what is on the menu. We're open to any neighborhood, but bonus points if there are great cocktail bars and/or dessert spots in walking distance for before and after dinner. Thanks!

On Saturday night, Cameron and Sophia pulled up in her car, which was a really beat-up old Honda that even had some missing hubcap covers. This honestly should have been my first clue that something was wrong, but I overlooked it because I hadn't seen my son in a few months. When she stepped out of the car, though, I realized that Cameron and I would need to have a frank discussion. We live in an upper-middle class neighborhood, only took a few vacations per year, and sent Cameron to above-average schools growing up. The thing is, I was expecting my wife to be as bothered as I was, but she totally ignored me and greeted them both with hugs. It wouldn't be fair at all for my son to pay for the bulk of the expenses, assuming this relationship lasts a long time. I asked Cameron to stay behind for a few minutes and honestly laid out my concerns. I commended Sophia for trying hard in school, but told him that her tattoos and piercings would lower her earning potential. I certainly wouldn't hire anyone with her appearance if it were up to me. I implored Cameron to really consider the choice he was making by dating someone like her. Again, I told him that Sophia seems nice but that there were better options for someone of his upbringing. Long story short, my wife and son refuse to talk to me, and it's been almost 48 hours. They act like everything I said is completely off-base, and I know that it's not. I shouldn’t have an issue with working on my birthday as a lot of people have to. I turn 29 so I’m feeling very sentimental and wanted at least the evening to get dinner and a drink with my partner.
Originally, I was told I would need to work an 11 hour day (NP’s working at hospital that day so cant really ask off those days) so I let it go. Then a week ago they told me DB’s schedule changed and they’d let me know what hours to work. MB said DB was off now but would probably want the day to himself so they’d need me 8-4. I was bummed but understood. Kind of hoped they would say “he’s off so why don’t you enjoy your bday” since at least MB knows it’s my bday. They never got back to me about finalizing the schedule change so I texted her for Mother’s Day and also asked about the change and now it’s 8-5 or 6. I mentioned today that I forgot to get my tags & driver license renewed and asked to leave a few hours early this Wednesday. MB seemed very reluctant and said “can’t you do that on Friday or do it online?” It feels like she doesn’t care that I’d like the day to myself. I rarely take days off and I never call off. I’ll text her if I feel sick and she’ll usually say I can still work as they were the ones who probably got me sick, so being around the kids is fine as long as I’m feeling up to it. “Well we opened the vault like 3 days ago,” Tom replied, quite surprised Paulin hadn’t said anything. “Wait yeah she can send you messages, no? She sent the message about what we wanted to buy too, didn’t she?... How did she do that by the way? Why didn’t you just have her ask me questions?”
“That is not for you to know, and this is not for her.”
“Really? More secrets still? Come on, tell me or I’ll let you think flying whales exist.”
“I know those are not real. If they were, you would have harvested them long ago! likely for some deranged snack… or facial decoration.”
“True, but you get the idea,” Tom persisted, feeling like this was something worth pushing for. Why would Paulin not have let her precious Joelina know?
“Very well. This does not leave your mind… In the name of, what was it called… camaraderie. Paulin is in possession of joined paper. Messages may be written down and read by anyone with similarly joined paper. Unsecured. Originally believed to be fore love letters… dastardly studs and wenches using perfectly good magic for such trivialness… simply tie the message to a rock and throw it though the window. Most peasants cannot even afford glass” Joelina trailed off, seemingly zoning out once more.
“You have magical paper that can relay written information… and you don’t fucking use it!?” Tom explaimed, not quite believing what he was hearing.
“No, we do not know how to make freshly bonded paper… only more linked to all other paper in existence…” Joelina agreed. He could almost feel her looking at the floor in shame. “But it is not as if you are infallible, why did you not bring one of these radios?”
“I uhm…”
“Why didn’t you?!”
“I forgot,” Tom admitted, thinking back to his packing days. Of all the things that could have proven useful, that one might have been his biggest blunder.
“For the love of all that is holy! You are our saviour?!” Joelina scolded, understandably so, but still.
“Hey I never claimed to be smart!”
“I have lived your dreams. That is a lie! You very much claim to be smart!”
“Fuck off, I know you are just a scared little insecure girl.”
“She died 30 years ago!”
“Well I haven’t gotten to that bit yet!”
“What in the devils do you mean?” Joelina questioned calming right down in a fraction of a second.
“I’ve only had like three proper dreams about you… wait no, not like that,” Tom blurted out as it clicked just how wrong that sounded. Joelina didn’t seem to care in the slightest though.
“Three? That is it!?” going right back to outrage.
“Yeah… Wait, how many have you had?” Tom questioned. He rather wanted to know just how much she might know about him in addition to the memories she had already picked through when inside his head.
“Several a day!” the inquisitor exclaimed in reply.
“Okay, I can see how that would drive someone a bit mad.”
“I am not going mad!”
“Did Glazz say the same thing?” Tom questioned, quite certain he was striking a nerve.
There was no reply for quite some time, Tom feeling the headache growing as things grew tranquil once more. He could feel his breath. It was rapid, and his heart was pounding. He probably shouldn’t do this for much longer. Thus he endeavored to break the silence.
“You probably should listen to her you know.”
“No! These matters are above her station!”
“Hasn’t she been in the Inquisition longer than you?”
“She has yes. But she is no inquisitor. She is a body guard.”
“Seems like she is a wee bit more than that,” Tom pushed on. He didn’t yet know how those two came to stick together, but it was clear they had been working together for decades by now. All the way since she was assigned to Harvik
“Mind your own matters, human.”
“Very well, don’t think I can keep this up anyway.”
“We have barely been chatting! Where do the dogs come from?!”
“Selective breeding for thousands of years. But I’m gonna go. Take a break, do what Glazz says… even if Jacky hates her.”
Yet more silence followed that, though it was brief and Joelina was the first to speak again.
“Fine! In the interest of cooperation I shall let you rest. Wear the earring at all times, I shall be contacting you again soon.”
“I think I’m gonna be the judge of that. I’ll put it on when I feel like it.”
“You will do as I say!”
“You need a nap and a bit to calm down. I’ll give you three days. Around noon. See yah… How do I get this thing off?”
“I’m not telling you,” Joelina grumped like a little girl. She really didn’t seem quite like herself at all today. She had been the spitting image of restraint and arrogance before. The arrogance was still there, but the restraint had certainly gone.
“Come on, do I just try to cut off the magic or is that a bad idea?”
“If you answer a question I might answer.”
“Right then… Gimme gimme gimme aaaa-”
“JUST CUT IT! Farewell!” she called out loud enough Tom’s head pulsed and then there was blissful silence once more.
“Hehe. That did the trick, right concentrate on that funny feeling aaan-”

After dinner had been rounded up, Dakota had given a brief address as to some of the news received. There wasn’t much that hadn’t already made the rounds at the tables during the dinner itself. The war had been expanding, recruitment had started in full in the cities, and if not for the rather special situation at Bizmati they could have expected their banners to get called by spring.
Rumors had it that the kingdom was preparing itself for counterstrikes the following spring, which meant training through the winter for many volunteers.
“And a lot of not so volunteers,” Fengi muttered as Dakota carried on with the address.
“You can say that twice. At least the street rats might get something to eat and a place to sleep,” Tirox the trader escort added.
“I suppose that is true. Not a bad deal in winter time… I might even have taken it.”
“But we must instead keep our minds on our home,” Dakota carried on, talking to the whole hall. “There can be no mistake, we will be a target. We will be ready. They are getting bolder by the day it seems. It is not impossible they may attempt to take our keep before the winter comes. Or perhaps they will be waiting for spring. It is equally clear their forces are spread thin. We will weather such assaults, I have no doubt. But we must keep training. We must keep vigil. We cannot afford to be surprised or outmatched. I know you will all do your best. And tonight, we have no less than 4 dragons here. So breathe easy, have your snacks and your drinks. If the weather holds soon we will be finished with the warehouse and then we may make final preparations for winter. It is sure to be an interesting one for once.”
The hall replied with a half-discordant cheer, not overly enthusiastic unlike what Dakota had likely envisioned. The talk of them possibly getting attacked even before the snow came wasn’t really that encouraging. But Dakota tended to speak her mind, and she was probably right. Bizmati keep would be a damn tough nut to crack. And to Dakota’s credit she did seem to recognize she hadn’t really managed to rile them up.
“Didn’t you hear me?” she tried again in a slightly more humorous tone. “Eat, drink, and have fun! And put those tables together, don’t want you brooding in your corners.”
That did get a bit more of a reaction, as well as some good humored chuckles. People started getting up and set about moving the tables closer together.
It was a little rude to split up their guests in the same way as they normally did. Saph carried one of the benches over to the new spot, glancing around for any sign of Maiko, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
Feeling a little miffed, she sat down with the others as Ray came back with one of the small kegs of cider looking very excited. “We should have a taste, right?”
“Oh yes please!” Pho called out, Essy giving her a slight slap on the wrist.
“This one is only for those who paid for it. You will have to do with whatever you bought. Or the ale I’m sure they intend to serve.”
“Aww man. Not even a sip?”
“Okay, maybe a sip,” Essy relented. “Oh, I should get Koko his gift.”
“You got him a gift?” Saph questioned with mirth in her voice.
“Of course, that is what people do for each other… you did get Maiko something, right?”
Saph felt her expression slip a little as she prepared to disappoint their chief people person. “No, not really…”
“All that money and you didn’t get him shit? That’s cold girl,” Pho laughed, clearly finding it hilarious.
“Oh shut up, not as if I got something for Unkai either,” Fengi added, springing to Sapphire’s defence, though it seemed like the delivery had Fengi second guessing herself as well.
Esmeralda did look a little saddened by the news, but she was far too nice to say anything. Tirox however had no such filter.
“Oh don’t worry about it, just gotta go with a different sort of gift.” The diminutive guard laughed heartily at his joke. Udanti found it quite funny as well, and Pho certainly loved it. Bo just shook her head a little and went back to a small puzzle of some sort she had been working on, on and off, for most of the dinner by now.
“So uhm… One mug each?” Ray questioned, having been left hanging at the keg.
“Oh yes sorry, just the one, this stuff is expensive,” Saph replied, holding out her mug, Ray pushing it back down.
“One moment.” And she produced a wooden mallet and one of the metal taps. It looked like one of Raulf’s, so it was probably old as faded dragonscales.
Ray gingerly placed it against the cork and raised the mallet as the table fell silent in anticipation.
With a whack the tap went in clean with hardly a drop spilled, and Ray breathed a visible sigh of relief. “Right there we go.”
There was a quick round of cheers from the table, and Ray started pouring servings.
“Oh got yours open, have you?” the voice of Balethon came as the guard came walking up to the table, mug in hand and lizard on shoulder. “You all know we are gonna have to work out who got the better stuff, right?”
“Oh does it always have to be a competition with you, Balethon?” Saph questioned. She had just wanted to enjoy the cider.
“Look who is talking… And yeah of course we do! Just think of the bragging rights.”
Ray didn’t look too thrilled, nor did any of the girls who had actually paid for the keg. The rest of the table seemed to think it was a brilliant idea, even as Balethon’s voice carried and heads started to turn as people started to mingle between the now closely together tables.
“I’ll be the independent adjudicator!” Tirox declared, not receiving much attention as the full mugs started to get passed around. “Oh come on. I’ll be fair!”
“Shut it pipsqueak, you’ll end up taking 10 rounds of tastings before you make up your mind,” Udanti scolded, though in good humor.
“I might…” the guy relented, looking to Balethon. “Ey, by the way. Did you teach the brainlet any tricks?”
“Sure, Skitters can do a few things.”
“Aside from chasing the food?”
“You know what I think he might yeah,” Balethon replied sarcastically, gently tapping the static lizard twice on the head. The lizard didn’t do much save skitter about on his shoulder to face Balethon’s head, one eye pointing in whichever direction.
‘That thing just looks so dumb,’ Saph thought to herself as Ray handed her a mug. “Oh thank you.”
“Okay, Skitters. Up,” Balethon went, raising a claw into the air as if he wanted the lizard to jump. Or perhaps stand up. “Up… come on.”
There was no reaction from the lizard aside from it jerking to the left a bit, possibly having spotted a fly or something.
“Weeeell obedience might need some work,” Udanti chuckled. “Have you tried with some food in your hand?”
“Sure, then he just tries to eat the hand. Come on, Skitters. Up!” Balethon tried again, doing the gesture once more. And this time the little lizard jumped into the air. The little legs stretched out, taking its pitiful excuse for wings with it, and it half-fell half-glided to the floor where it hit with all the grace of a 6 year old on his first lesson. The slightly fat lizard bounced once, then rolled over twice before coming to a stop, looking around confused.
“Aaayyy! That’s a good boi,” Balethon went, going to pick it up again before someone stepped on it or it ran off under the tables. “And now you get a treat.” True to his word Skitters was fed a small piece of something or other which it seemed quite happy to snap up.
Fengi leaned in to whisper to Saph. “Was that the trick or did it just get sick of staying there?”
“I have no idea,” Saph replied, holding up her mug. “Cheers though.”
“Cheers,” Fengi replied as they clinked mugs.
“Oh hang on now, wait for me,” Essy protested as Ray finished pouring her mug and started on her own, looking to the girls as she questioned “Oh, also what about Jacky? Should we wait for her?”
“Who knows how long that will take?” Fengi replied, holding her mug impatiently.
“I’m sure she won’t mind. She is with Tom. We’ll let him have a mug as well,” Essy added with a reassuring nod, looking up to the high table. “Oh but we are missing Lin!”
“Oh right yeah she paid too… I can’t remember, did Edita chip in?”
“I don’t think so,” Sapphire replied, shaking her head as Essy got up to go fetch Linkosta. Balethon decided to take her place, a big grin on his face.
“So what else is going on over here?”
“Oh not much, hellooo little guy,” Pho went, trying to give skitters a scritching. In exchange he tried to eat her finger. “Oh… I mean I guess it doesn’t hurt.”
“Oh yeah, he can’t hurt a fly… well he can, but nothing more.”
“Shame he won’t get any bigger either,” Udanti added, nodding sagely. “Would have made a good rat hunter.”
“Nah… toe hunter though. Also where is the ale at?”
“Oh Raulf and Wiperna are getting ale and some of the bubble beer.”
“What is bubble beer?” Udanti questioned, tilting her head.
“Oh you’ll love it,” Saph interjected, waiting patiently as she saw Essy and Linkosta returning to the table out of the corner of her eye. “It’s an ale but it’s all fizzy.”
“Riiight… I’ve heard of fizzy beers before.”
“Oh yes, but this one is so much more fizzy.”
“It’s light and almost springlike.”
“Light ale? You mean for kids?”
“No no no. Just trust us it’s good.”
“Right right, I trust you,” the archer replied, looking to Essy and Linkosta, who seemed to be looking for a place to sit. “Should we not just put two end to end rather than this scrunching up business?”
“Yeah we should… Right get the craftsman table over here then. We don’t wanna have to smell the guards,” Saph called out, holding up her mug.
“Hey! That was uncalled for,” Balethon protested as Ray passed a mug to Linkosta. The girls all raised their mugs and had a sip, not willing to wait any longer. They all smacked their chops a little, looking down at the golden liquid. It was slightly fizzy too… and it tasted like the brew of the gods themselves. Ray was looking at them all visibly tense with anticipation and perhaps a twinge of fear.
“Ray… You have not disappointed,” Saph declared, nodding her approval, a smile creeping onto her face once more.
“Oh this is the best drink I think I’ve ever had,” Fengi added, taking another gentle sip.
Ray looked visibly relieved, her expression changing to one of ecstasy as she too took a sip herself. “Oh it’s even better than I remember. I’m glad you liked it.”
“Like it?! I love it!” Fengi cheers, Essy giving an appreciative nod to Ray before looking to Lin.
“Sooo?”
“It’s very good… Do you think we could try and cool it down a little? Imagine this cold.”
“It is often served cold, yes,” Ray confirmed, nodding her assent.
“I’ll go get the powder!” Saph called out, getting up. “I have got to try that.”

The strange ethereal world that had seemed so all-consuming started to quickly fade. Holes grew as light and reality started seeping in, sounds and noise starting to build around him. “Oom-Tom… Tom, are you okay?” came the familiar voice of Jacky as his eyes shot open and he blinked a few times as he returned to reality proper.
“Yeah yeah, I’m here… That is trippy, but hey, I think it worked.”
“How many fingers?” Jacky questioned, holding up her hand.
“4. Clear as day.”
“Pheeew. Okay look around, anything strange?”
Tom obeyed, sitting up a bit straighter and glancing about the room. “Nnnnn, nope all good. Just like last time I used one of these.”
“Right, good. Now what did she say?”
“Oh a bunch of stuff… mostly we chatted a bit about how she’s going a touch mad. Even Glazz thinks she’s falling apart at the seams apparently. She was also not happy I wanted a break.”
“Oh don’t tell me you have to do this every day from now on?”
“I said she had 3 days to get ready to try again. Hopefully she’ll have her case worked out by then.”
“Here’s to hoping… also how is your head? Does it hurt?”
“A bit, it’ll go away I’m sure.”
“Right,” Jacky replied, looking at him skeptically. “If it gets worse, tell me. But dinner was served a while ago I think. And I’m hungry.”
“Me too, let’s go.”

“Right, best make this quick then,” he tried thinking to himself, feeling the flow peak as he did.

“What? No, I re-experienced the memory you had of the movie about the moon mission. It was evident on the second watching that it was trickery of the eye! Spaceflight is but a myth!”

“No no don’t you dare cut me off! I have seen what you talked of, nuclear fire and missiles, ships of the oceans and planes soaring in the skies. But is it not all fake? Surely it must be! It must be? It must be…”
“I don’t know what you saw… but we have ships sailing around. If you’ve ever seen flying ships like you have here then that’s fake I can assure you of that. We do have airships, but they look more like really big long balloons.”
“But we could make such vessels, or someone could from times past. If you can visit the moon then surely you can make a ship for the skies!”
“No no, we ain’t got grav oil. Or dragon essence as I guess it’s called. That means no anti gravity, and that means weight is a very very big problem for anything you wanna make fly. Planes and helicopters are how we fly. Remember how I flew to Afghanistan on a big ass plane? Or when I learned to parachute later?”

“We have barely been chatting! Where do the dogs come from?!”
“Selective breeding for thousands of years. But I’m gonna go. Take a break, do what Glazz says… even if Jacky hates her.”
Yet more silence followed that, though it was brief and Joelina was the first to speak again.
“Fine! In the interest of cooperation I shall let you rest. Wear the earring at all times, I shall be contacting you again soon.”
“I think I’m gonna be the judge of that. I’ll put it on when I feel like it.”
“You will do as I say!”
“You need a nap and a bit to calm down. I’ll give you three days. Around noon. See yah… How do I get this thing off?”
“I’m not telling you,” Joelina grumped like a little girl. She really didn’t seem quite like herself at all today. She had been the spitting image of restraint and arrogance before. The arrogance was still there, but the restraint had certainly gone.
“Come on, do I just try to cut off the magic or is that a bad idea?”
“If you answer a question I might answer.”
“Right then… Gimme gimme gimme aaaa-”
“JUST CUT IT! Farewell!” she called out loud enough Tom’s head pulsed and then there was blissful silence once more.
“Hehe. That did the trick, right concentrate on that funny feeling aaan-”

After dinner had been rounded up, Dakota had given a brief address as to some of the news received. There wasn’t much that hadn’t already made the rounds at the tables during the dinner itself. The war had been expanding, recruitment had started in full in the cities, and if not for the rather special situation at Bizmati they could have expected their banners to get called by spring.
Rumors had it that the kingdom was preparing itself for counterstrikes the following spring, which meant training through the winter for many volunteers.
“And a lot of not so volunteers,” Fengi muttered as Dakota carried on with the address.
“You can say that twice. At least the street rats might get something to eat and a place to sleep,” Tirox the trader escort added.
“I suppose that is true. Not a bad deal in winter time… I might even have taken it.”
“But we must instead keep our minds on our home,” Dakota carried on, talking to the whole hall. “There can be no mistake, we will be a target. We will be ready. They are getting bolder by the day it seems. It is not impossible they may attempt to take our keep before the winter comes. Or perhaps they will be waiting for spring. It is equally clear their forces are spread thin. We will weather such assaults, I have no doubt. But we must keep training. We must keep vigil. We cannot afford to be surprised or outmatched. I know you will all do your best. And tonight, we have no less than 4 dragons here. So breathe easy, have your snacks and your drinks. If the weather holds soon we will be finished with the warehouse and then we may make final preparations for winter. It is sure to be an interesting one for once.”
The hall replied with a half-discordant cheer, not overly enthusiastic unlike what Dakota had likely envisioned. The talk of them possibly getting attacked even before the snow came wasn’t really that encouraging. But Dakota tended to speak her mind, and she was probably right. Bizmati keep would be a damn tough nut to crack. And to Dakota’s credit she did seem to recognize she hadn’t really managed to rile them up.
“Didn’t you hear me?” she tried again in a slightly more humorous tone. “Eat, drink, and have fun! And put those tables together, don’t want you brooding in your corners.”
That did get a bit more of a reaction, as well as some good humored chuckles. People started getting up and set about moving the tables closer together.
It was a little rude to split up their guests in the same way as they normally did. Saph carried one of the benches over to the new spot, glancing around for any sign of Maiko, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
Feeling a little miffed, she sat down with the others as Ray came back with one of the small kegs of cider looking very excited. “We should have a taste, right?”
“Oh yes please!” Pho called out, Essy giving her a slight slap on the wrist.
“This one is only for those who paid for it. You will have to do with whatever you bought. Or the ale I’m sure they intend to serve.”
“Aww man. Not even a sip?”
“Okay, maybe a sip,” Essy relented. “Oh, I should get Koko his gift.”
“You got him a gift?” Saph questioned with mirth in her voice.
“Of course, that is what people do for each other… you did get Maiko something, right?”
Saph felt her expression slip a little as she prepared to disappoint their chief people person. “No, not really…”
“All that money and you didn’t get him shit? That’s cold girl,” Pho laughed, clearly finding it hilarious.
“Oh shut up, not as if I got something for Unkai either,” Fengi added, springing to Sapphire’s defence, though it seemed like the delivery had Fengi second guessing herself as well.
Esmeralda did look a little saddened by the news, but she was far too nice to say anything. Tirox however had no such filter.
“Oh don’t worry about it, just gotta go with a different sort of gift.” The diminutive guard laughed heartily at his joke. Udanti found it quite funny as well, and Pho certainly loved it. Bo just shook her head a little and went back to a small puzzle of some sort she had been working on, on and off, for most of the dinner by now.
“So uhm… One mug each?” Ray questioned, having been left hanging at the keg.
“Oh yes sorry, just the one, this stuff is expensive,” Saph replied, holding out her mug, Ray pushing it back down.
“One moment.” And she produced a wooden mallet and one of the metal taps. It looked like one of Raulf’s, so it was probably old as faded dragonscales.
Ray gingerly placed it against the cork and raised the mallet as the table fell silent in anticipation.
With a whack the tap went in clean with hardly a drop spilled, and Ray breathed a visible sigh of relief. “Right there we go.”
There was a quick round of cheers from the table, and Ray started pouring servings.
“Oh got yours open, have you?” the voice of Balethon came as the guard came walking up to the table, mug in hand and lizard on shoulder. “You all know we are gonna have to work out who got the better stuff, right?”
“Oh does it always have to be a competition with you, Balethon?” Saph questioned. She had just wanted to enjoy the cider.
“Look who is talking… And yeah of course we do! Just think of the bragging rights.”
Ray didn’t look too thrilled, nor did any of the girls who had actually paid for the keg. The rest of the table seemed to think it was a brilliant idea, even as Balethon’s voice carried and heads started to turn as people started to mingle between the now closely together tables.
“I’ll be the independent adjudicator!” Tirox declared, not receiving much attention as the full mugs started to get passed around. “Oh come on. I’ll be fair!”
“Shut it pipsqueak, you’ll end up taking 10 rounds of tastings before you make up your mind,” Udanti scolded, though in good humor.
“I might…” the guy relented, looking to Balethon. “Ey, by the way. Did you teach the brainlet any tricks?”
“Sure, Skitters can do a few things.”
“Aside from chasing the food?”
“You know what I think he might yeah,” Balethon replied sarcastically, gently tapping the static lizard twice on the head. The lizard didn’t do much save skitter about on his shoulder to face Balethon’s head, one eye pointing in whichever direction.
‘That thing just looks so dumb,’ Saph thought to herself as Ray handed her a mug. “Oh thank you.”
“Okay, Skitters. Up,” Balethon went, raising a claw into the air as if he wanted the lizard to jump. Or perhaps stand up. “Up… come on.”
There was no reaction from the lizard aside from it jerking to the left a bit, possibly having spotted a fly or something.
“Weeeell obedience might need some work,” Udanti chuckled. “Have you tried with some food in your hand?”
“Sure, then he just tries to eat the hand. Come on, Skitters. Up!” Balethon tried again, doing the gesture once more. And this time the little lizard jumped into the air. The little legs stretched out, taking its pitiful excuse for wings with it, and it half-fell half-glided to the floor where it hit with all the grace of a 6 year old on his first lesson. The slightly fat lizard bounced once, then rolled over twice before coming to a stop, looking around confused.
“Aaayyy! That’s a good boi,” Balethon went, going to pick it up again before someone stepped on it or it ran off under the tables. “And now you get a treat.” True to his word Skitters was fed a small piece of something or other which it seemed quite happy to snap up.
Fengi leaned in to whisper to Saph. “Was that the trick or did it just get sick of staying there?”
“I have no idea,” Saph replied, holding up her mug. “Cheers though.”
“Cheers,” Fengi replied as they clinked mugs.
“Oh hang on now, wait for me,” Essy protested as Ray finished pouring her mug and started on her own, looking to the girls as she questioned “Oh, also what about Jacky? Should we wait for her?”
“Who knows how long that will take?” Fengi replied, holding her mug impatiently.
“I’m sure she won’t mind. She is with Tom. We’ll let him have a mug as well,” Essy added with a reassuring nod, looking up to the high table. “Oh but we are missing Lin!”
“Oh right yeah she paid too… I can’t remember, did Edita chip in?”
“I don’t think so,” Sapphire replied, shaking her head as Essy got up to go fetch Linkosta. Balethon decided to take her place, a big grin on his face.
“So what else is going on over here?”
“Oh not much, hellooo little guy,” Pho went, trying to give skitters a scritching. In exchange he tried to eat her finger. “Oh… I mean I guess it doesn’t hurt.”
“Oh yeah, he can’t hurt a fly… well he can, but nothing more.”
“Shame he won’t get any bigger either,” Udanti added, nodding sagely. “Would have made a good rat hunter.”
“Nah… toe hunter though. Also where is the ale at?”
“Oh Raulf and Wiperna are getting ale and some of the bubble beer.”
“What is bubble beer?” Udanti questioned, tilting her head.
“Oh you’ll love it,” Saph interjected, waiting patiently as she saw Essy and Linkosta returning to the table out of the corner of her eye. “It’s an ale but it’s all fizzy.”
“Riiight… I’ve heard of fizzy beers before.”
“Oh yes, but this one is so much more fizzy.”
“It’s light and almost springlike.”
“Light ale? You mean for kids?”
“No no no. Just trust us it’s good.”
“Right right, I trust you,” the archer replied, looking to Essy and Linkosta, who seemed to be looking for a place to sit. “Should we not just put two end to end rather than this scrunching up business?”
“Yeah we should… Right get the craftsman table over here then. We don’t wanna have to smell the guards,” Saph called out, holding up her mug.
“Hey! That was uncalled for,” Balethon protested as Ray passed a mug to Linkosta. The girls all raised their mugs and had a sip, not willing to wait any longer. They all smacked their chops a little, looking down at the golden liquid. It was slightly fizzy too… and it tasted like the brew of the gods themselves. Ray was looking at them all visibly tense with anticipation and perhaps a twinge of fear.
“Ray… You have not disappointed,” Saph declared, nodding her approval, a smile creeping onto her face once more.
“Oh this is the best drink I think I’ve ever had,” Fengi added, taking another gentle sip.
Ray looked visibly relieved, her expression changing to one of ecstasy as she too took a sip herself. “Oh it’s even better than I remember. I’m glad you liked it.”
“Like it?! I love it!” Fengi cheers, Essy giving an appreciative nod to Ray before looking to Lin.
“Sooo?”
“It’s very good… Do you think we could try and cool it down a little? Imagine this cold.”
“It is often served cold, yes,” Ray confirmed, nodding her assent.
“I’ll go get the powder!” Saph called out, getting up. “I have got to try that.”

The strange ethereal world that had seemed so all-consuming started to quickly fade. Holes grew as light and reality started seeping in, sounds and noise starting to build around him. “Oom-Tom… Tom, are you okay?” came the familiar voice of Jacky as his eyes shot open and he blinked a few times as he returned to reality proper.
“Yeah yeah, I’m here… That is trippy, but hey, I think it worked.”
“How many fingers?” Jacky questioned, holding up her hand.
“4. Clear as day.”
“Pheeew. Okay look around, anything strange?”
Tom obeyed, sitting up a bit straighter and glancing about the room. “Nnnnn, nope all good. Just like last time I used one of these.”
“Right, good. Now what did she say?”
“Oh a bunch of stuff… mostly we chatted a bit about how she’s going a touch mad. Even Glazz thinks she’s falling apart at the seams apparently. She was also not happy I wanted a break.”
“Oh don’t tell me you have to do this every day from now on?”
“I said she had 3 days to get ready to try again. Hopefully she’ll have her case worked out by then.”
“Here’s to hoping… also how is your head? Does it hurt?”
“A bit, it’ll go away I’m sure.”
“Right,” Jacky replied, looking at him skeptically. “If it gets worse, tell me. But dinner was served a while ago I think. And I’m hungry.”
“Me too, let’s go.”

She is incredibly sweet and thoughtful and has a good attitude and personality. For our first date, we enjoyed walking on the beach, talked for hours, and rode one of those lime scooters together, her holding on to me as we enjoyed the beautiful sunset. That was Date #1.
I learned she loves pasta so for date #2 I invited her to dinner to a nice Italian restaurant.
I was at the store earlier and saw some beautiful roses with the light gold dust[?]on them, thought of her and bought them out of impulse with the intent to give them to her.
In the moment I was thinking a lot of women don't get flowers on dates anymore and I wanted to do something sweet for her just because.
I did tell my coworkers and they told me that what I was doing might be a little too much and it started to make me over think.

The short story is when we were dating, my husband went on a date with a woman, kept in touch with her, and tried to go on another date 2 months before he proposed.
We recently went to an alumni event for his graduate school, and when we were there, a woman came up to me and we had an awkward conversation- she started off by saying that she was inviting herself to my wedding (we got married on paper and are having the ceremony later) and made a comment that “husband sure does know what he wants”. On the way home, husband said “you know how I said that a girl flirted with me very aggressively and groped me? That was her”. The thing is- he absolutely never told me that. When I said he never told me, he insisted that he did. I asked that he give me more information and he told me that she had invited him out to lunch, she was so attractive that he didn’t think she would be hitting on him, she flirted with him, and he shut it down. This happened when we were officially dating about 5 months into our relationship.
Something did not seem right about the story so I pressed him for more information and he said that they had also tried to meet up for tea one more time but it didn’t happen then he got angry and said that he was trying to be patient but I was over reacting so I let it go.
The next day, I brought it up again and asked for more information because I was upset that he had tried to meet up with her again. He then changed his story and said that the second meeting was going to be at a Super Bowl party and he would have brought me along. He said that he never said that he would have met her for tea and I should hear how ridiculous I sounded. I then had to go to work so I said I would text him.
When I was at work, I asked for her Instagram handle because I wanted to get her side of the story. She said that they met up once, kept in touch, had tried to meet up again and she didn’t show up. She specifically said it was not a date. I told her that my husband had said that she was flirting with him and if she had been I wasn’t upset with her because she would have had no way of knowing he was in a relationship. At this, she got offended and said that if he had thought that he should not have asked her out again and say that she would be unfollowing him and would not talk to him anymore.
I reached back out to my husband to let her know what she said and he got angry and said that she absolutely had flirted with him. I asked him again for more information and he said that he walked her back to her car and on the way, they also stopped at a boutique and then she looked at desserts.
This is getting long, so in short : I got home and looked at his phone. He had deleted parts of their conversation and it turns out that he asked her out, they took selfies with her holding his arm, him with his arm around her, spent 3 hours at the first restaurant, took funny pictures at the boutique, went to a second restaurant and spent an hour there. They then kept in touch and he literally never mentioned me once. They had not made plans to met at the Super Bowl party, he had asked her out again to the same restaurant and she literally stood him up. He still talked to her after that and remembered her birthday.
He also tried to meet up with another woman that he had been dating when we were not exclusive well into our relationship.
When I ask him explain, he either says that he doesn’t know why he did it, he forgot it happened or he didn’t think it was a big deal. This is part of a continuing pattern though where he disregards my feelings.
I am really struggling because this absolutely breaks my trust but it never got physical so I’m not sure if it is really that bad?

Fast forward to 16th June ,I was working on my project and it was around 3 in the morning and she texted me that his boyfriend is asking about you,My heart fell down and I just replied her it's your matter and you have to answer it but she insisted me to tell something to reply him.. Then I wrote a long paragraph in which I said I don't want to become a barrier between both of you.I trusted you but you betrayed me and used me. I wish you all the best and please don't try to text me again.. then she started spamming that sorry,I know it's my mistake. Don't leave me blah blah... I didn't reacted to her messages. Then I went to my bed and it was around 4:30 AM, I am having project submission at 9:00 AM and after 2 days I am having my end semester exams. I tried to sleep but after 1 hour, I woke up and was feeling heavy, I called my friend and told him that everything thing is over and I broke down. Then he and one more friend of mine came running to my room and took me to the balcony and consoled me and told me that don't be sad..
Then afterwards I gathered myself and went for the project evaluation,it went good but I was feeling a void. Then in the evening she texted me again asking me that If I am angry because of her.. my friends suggested me not to reply so I didn't reply.. But the night before the exams she texted me asking for the solutions of worksheets, I didn't send her.Then she called with a different number.But then again she started spamming. Then I texted her that I want to meet and want to end everything, she came and I gave her a short reality check and saw her tears rolling down her cheeks,I again said that please don't cry etc etc.... So I gave my exams and went home.
Again on July 2nd she texted me that I met with an accident and broke my hand. I replied take care. She said are you still angry with me,please give me a chance I want to normalise everything but I asked why should I give you a second chance which she didn't bother to reply.
Now fast forward to 4th semester, everything is going fine(My CG is 9.0) but now again she is staring at me and is trying to initiate a conversation but I ignore her completely but deep down I also want to initiate a conversation again. So what should I do? Kindly guide me!!

Then in the evening she texted me again asking me that If I am angry because of her.. my friends suggested me not to reply so I didn't reply.. But the night before the exams she texted me asking for the solutions of worksheets, I didn't send her.Then she called with a different number.But then again she started spamming. Then I texted her that I want to meet and want to end everything, she came and I gave her a short reality check and saw her tears rolling down her cheeks,I again said that please don't cry etc etc.... So I gave my exams and went home.
Again on July 2nd she texted me that I met with an accident and broke my hand. I replied take care. She said are you still angry with me,please give me a chance I want to normalise everything but I asked why should I give you a second chance which she didn't bother to reply.
Now fast forward to 4th semester, everything is going fine(My CG is 9.0) but now again she is staring at me and is trying to initiate a conversation but I ignore her completely but deep down I also want to initiate a conversation again. So what should I do? Kindly guide me!!

My sister and I just came back from Wonder of the Seas on Sunday 5/12. The experience was as expected but with an interesting little dent. This server (let’s call him RW) at Hooked Seafood (we bought the package online before the cruise) scammed our tips in a way that we (naively) never experienced before. Story was simple; I ordered one drink (my sister doesn’t drink, we didn’t buy a drink package) with the meal, when the bill came, the amount was $0, which was supposed to be a bit more than $16 after the mandatory 18%. It’s pretty “universal” that bartenders or servers give “free” drinks, and hoping customers tip the drink money to them. He was busy serving other customers after he dropped off the bill, so I didn’t bother to chase after him to correct the bill, and I tipped him $15, then we left.
Rewind a bit; this RW from Indonesia was pretty chatty; he was telling us how hard it is to work on the ship and he doesn’t get holidays…and all. I know they work for the money (wait, who else here doesn’t???) and I’m more on a softhearted side, so I thought it was OK that RC makes $16 less from me.
But! When I checked my bill on the app (it was the last day), I saw the drink charges there. This would look like RW’s service was so great that the clients tipped him more on top of the 18% already charged gratuities.
Well, which is not true.
Go on with this RW guy; then I remembered - throughout the trip there were sales walking around selling specialty meals. We were approached by quite a few; I guess RC has a system to train them, so all of them politely asked us if we wanted to try something different, introduced the restaurants and how good they are. We booked some specialty dinings online already, so we thanked them, and they’d say something nice like enjoy, have a good day…and move on to other customers.
VS. this RW - on the first day, our first lunch on board, on 4th main dining (because we joined “Key”) - came to our table and told us how chaotic the dinner that night at the main dining room would be, we probably won’t get to eat but had to wait for hours - so we should buy specialty dinner from him for that night. It's my 3rd time on this kind of mega ship, and my last experience was in 2022, which I consider not that “ancient”. I don’t believe RC’d be so much less organized than before. It was my sister’s first cruise though, and she panicked and almost dived into buying dinner from RW - because by that time she had not seen Windjammer yet; we just boarded and went straight to 4F main dining. I stopped her and guaranteed her we had to have some faith on RC; we’d get to eat somewhere and wouldn’t miss our show that night.
Well, yup, the first night’s dinner was as expected. The flow was of course a bit slow, but totally reasonable.
I think staff like RW is a dent to RC’s reputation (I can’t put an emoji here but, well…). Believe me I don’t have unreasonable high expectations (from service provided, well, and - humanity), but a sales/server trying to gain his commission by scaring new cruisers?? I think I should report. We laugh about how dumb I was to tip him the cocktail equivalent charges; it’ll remain our joke of the cruise experience for quite a while, and actually some of my friends and families are pretty entertained already.
Finally ~ the big question ~ how to I report this guy？I will not go too far like writing 25 letters to the CEO, but just to copy and paste this post to somewhere in RC? I’m curious how they’d react - or don’t react. I’d like to try and see as an experiment, but where do I reach out to RC? I received the email of invitation for review from RC but I haven’t opened it yet.

Hello,
I'm not heavy into spirituality. That being said, it's not that i don't believe in it, I'm just not heavily involved. My purpose here is hopefully to find some spiritual perspectives.
When I (M) was a kid, I went to a park and met a boy who we'll call G. We ended up becoming easy friends and he eventually moved into the same area I was living in at the time. As we grew up, we drifted apart and he started bullying me once we started middle school. I lost touch with him in High School since we ended up going to different ones and eventually lost all contact. After I graduated High School, a friend of mine who is his cousin, invited him to one of her birthday parties. He ended up coming over but he seemed very different. I don't mean in the sense that he grew up, but a part of him felt so strange. We ended up talking and he apologized for everything and I forgave him. Told him I held no grudge and that I didn't blame him for anything he did. (To me it seems he did it based on influence.)
After that night we went our separate ways and I have yet to see him again. Since that encounter, I've woken up a very (rarely) few times with a rush of anxiety and him being the first thing on my mind. It has my stomach in a knot and I'm filled to the brim with worry to the point where I have to reach out to him and have a conversation to make sure he's good. It's been 5 years since the party and this has happened maybe three times total, this morning being the third. It's never happened with anyone else I've known before, not even my family members.
I can't seem to put together some type of answer that makes sense to me. The thought of someone who I met as a kid, who turned on me, bullied me, apologized and made amends, to losing contact all over again and having a worrying heart as soon as I wake up is a strange concept to me.
I reached out to him through on social media, yet he hasn't replied. And as I wait, I feel as if my soul and my being can't calm itself until I hear from him. Until I know he's okay.
Can anyone offer some perspectives on this?

Hi guys,
First of all, thank you SO MUCH for your comments and messages, it warms my heart, really. You can see my profile for the previous posts. Summary: my husband slapped me in the face when we had a fight because he decided to work on Mother's Day, which also happened to be my birthday. The police came. In the middle of the night, he locked me outside of our house with the baby, the police had to come again. On the actual Mother's Day/birthday he went to the beach with friends (instead of working) and then invited them home while ignoring me completely. Again, a way to bully me and to get under my skin.
So I'm in an amazing little cottage with my baby now, and I can stay here for some time (for free!!) so that's nice. I've contacted some organizations; they'll get back to me, which is nice, but it will take weeks because apparently there are a lot of messed up families which need help, so the waiting period is long. That's okay, it'll give me time to reflect and take some distance from the whole situation. Today I've been feeling a lot of emotions, ranging from feeling strong and confident to a full blown panic attack and ugly cry.
I really just want to stay here forever and build my life again without SBTX but that's impossible, I can't just exclude him from my sons life and I'm also still financially dependent on him (working on it!!).
On to the juice. I've spoken to my STBX over text and told him which steps I was taking and made it clear that it wasn't my intention to keep the baby from him and that I had my baby's best interest at heart. I made sure to stay calm, reasonable, and respectful over text (my brother gave me the excellent advice to ALWAYS stay calm and not let him push my buttons so that I can't give him any 'evidence'. It was hard, but I managed). I asked him to cooperate to make this process as easy as can be. I also told him I asked for a social worker to help us navigate this situation, make a plan for co-parenting, and work as a mediator. His reply blew me away. He basically said that he thought I was mentally unstable and the baby was not safe with me (before he slapped me in the face, we had the fight and the baby screamed and cried because I was holding him when I screamed at my STBX - I'll admit, that was HORRIBLE, but my STBX was extremely provoking me. This is the reason I am 100% sure we should separate because obviously I can't control myself when my STBX is bullying me). He also said he couldn't take care of a baby because he works full time, so he implied that he'll make sure the social worker sees that I'm unfit to be a mom and the baby will be safer elsewhere. This was so extremely ridiculous I couldn't even take it seriously. This man has 0% self-reflection and makes me take the blame 100% for what happened, which has been a pattern throughout our whole marriage. I am taking responsibility for my part, but I told him that it takes two to tango, but he still was adamant it was 100% my fault this happened. I couldn't reason with him, and I was getting angry again, so I ended the conversation, again saying I only want what's best for our son.
I am not at all scared that they're gonna take the baby from me. I love him to death, and I think I'm a good mom, and I am sure they'll see it that way. I'm hoping they will see the dynamic between me and my husband and also see through him because he can be extremely charming and manipulative, the only thing that scares me a little is that he'll be able to manipulate the social worker so I hope we'll get an experienced one. We'll see.
For now, I'm gonna (try to) relax, enjoy my baby, the nature, reflect, cry, and process all that is happening. I have friends and family whom I trust, and I talk to them A LOT - that's my way of dealing with things, talking about my issues endlessly lol. They're happy to listen fortunately. Tomorrow I'm going to the beach with a friend (and my baby!) to take my mind off things.
