I've never had a tattoo before, but I'm considering a few designs to build into sleeves. I have some ideas for both colour and black and white pieces. But it occurs to me that maybe colour pieces would effect my overall style and wardrobe more than B&W pieces?
I mean B&W goes with everything right? It blends in and lets your clothes pop more if they have colour. While with coloured tats you're inevitably gonna clash with some part of your wardrobe. Even if youre wearing black clothes it will still set up a harsh contrast, rather than compliment them like B&W tattoos would.
What are your thoughts on this? Any advice for a rookie trying to find their style?

Lately, I've been really obsessed with the production on Young Thug's 2015 and 2016 mixtapes. I've specifically been enjoying 'Slime Season 3' and the production that is featured on that project. Long story short, I got my start in roleplaying back during the golden age of AOL and Yahoo (anyone else remember the Red Dragon Inn back in the late 90s and early 2000s?). Ah, those were the days, right? When the biggest worry was your dial-up connection, haha.
As I'm sure you'd all agree—finding long-term, advanced/literate writers is much more challenging these days. I have fond memories of when the process of coming up with a plot was an organic process; where you'd genuinely take the time to get to know the other person, build rapport, and allow a plot to form naturally.
That's what I'm hoping to find. With that said, I put a lot of effort into this post, so hopefully there's someone else out there who values the same things in a writing partner!

As I'm sure you'd all agree—finding long-term, advanced/literate writers is much more challenging these days. That's what I'm hoping to find. With that said, I put a lot of effort into this post, so hopefully there's someone else out there who values the same things in a writing partner!
First of all, here's a bit about me as a person:
- I'm 30+, male, and I've written several novels and a bunch of articles, mostly in historical fiction and contemporary stories. Writing isn't just my job; it's pretty much a part of who I am.
- I'm always trying to learn something new, whether it's from books, documentaries, or just good old chatting. History and cultures fascinate me the most.
- When I'm not buried in books or work, I love to hike and take photos. There’s something about being out in nature that just clears my head.
- I love to read (especially non-fiction and historical fiction). I'm always down for swapping book recommendations, if you're also a reader!
- I love peanut butter (crunchy over smooth any day – fight me).
- On that note, if I'm being honest, coffee isn't just a drink for me; it's a ritual!
- I'm a big fan of the simple things in life. Give me a sunset, a good laugh, or a perfect slice of pizza, and I’m set.
- I love diving into those deep, meandering conversations that start with "what if" and end somewhere between "the meaning of life" and "why can’t we tickle ourselves?"
- Fun fact: I used to be able to recite all 50 states in alphabetical order — a party trick born out of a grade school challenge, haha.
- Writing Style - I'm looking for a partner who has a strong command of the English language. I'm talking about descriptive passages that paint clear pictures, dialogue that is crisp, concise, and not overly flowery. I prefer to write in the 3rd person, past tense. I prefer modern fiction and historical fiction stories.
- Communication - Life's unpredictable! What’s important is keeping each other in the loop about our schedules and any changes in the story or our approach. A quick heads-up can make a huge difference. It's all about being honest and direct with our feedback and thoughts.
- Long-Term Plots - I'm really looking for a writing partner who's in it for the long haul and is passionate about crafting intricate, plot-driven stories. For me, the joy of roleplaying lies in developing a story that evolves over time, with twists and turns that keep us both engaged and inspired.
- Sense of Humor - Writing together should be fun and relaxed, not just a serious crafting of narratives. It’s important to me that we can both throw in a bit of humor now and then, not only in our stories but in our interactions too.
We should totally write such a good story that our keyboards will need a vacation after we're done, haha. I hope to hear from you!

Hey y’all!! My name is Paulina, I’m a handpoke artist based in Los Angeles, and I really love thick line tattoos. As I’ve explored this more, I’ve really been leaning into more American Traditional themes and styles (but with handpoke technique + my own flair). Also been tattooing for about 2/3 years.
The studio I learned at and got my license leans towards much more spiritual + ritualistic tattoos and me and the owner have agreed that it may not be the right fit for me anymore. I’ve never done walk-ins (appt only shop), and I’ve basically only done 1 flash day so I feel pretty new in quite a few areas. I’ve noticed the most popular tattoo artists in LA do mostly fine line work, so I’ve been looking at guesting in more traditional shops. I haven’t had much luck :( I’m not looking for a new apprenticeship or anything, I just wanna guest at some new spots and network with more awesome artists.
I just really want to gain more experience and break into tattooing more of this style (but I’m not opposed to doing bread and butter work), but my biggest difficulty has been finding clients and shops to guest at that will let me do walk ins/flash days. I’m not sure if LA is the right place for me based on the popular styles here or what I can do better to reach more clients. I appreciate all help and insights! My insta is @almost_tattoos

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I consider myself to be at least marginally more intelligent (both academically & socially) than the average person. Therefore, if I ever decided to suddenly risk prison time, risk my reputation, and risk enduring the wrath of modern-day “cancel culture” by scamming people out of their money:
- I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
- I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
- I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.

For those of you lucky enough NOT to know, reference to the number 88 is often tinged in real life with some ugly sentiments. The letter H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, and 88 is often seen on tattoos or in usernames as a reference to (Heil (asshole)). It has passed from "a number" to being, at times, "a code or reference that an in-crowd will recognize." The number 420 has also achieved such status.
When I see an 88 in a username, my first thought is no longer "born in 1988" but rather "person that I don't want in my group." Nevertheless, I think that the creators of this content were not N sympathizers, but rather that they put real life references into the game, veiled as always, and subject to interpretation. When I saw "Vault 88" I groaned. As I entered, I saw some things that made me think twice about why they were included.
Let's look at some of the themes that are present in the quests in Vault 88. This is my take on these. Your opinions may vary. Perhaps this is grasping at straws, but I see quite a few references to the N.
(1) Experiments on unwilling or unknowing subjects, with the experiments being potentially lethal, as you tuned the bicycle, the soda machine, or the eye machine, to be stronger or weaker. This could easily be a reference to the experiments that the N did on certain residents of their "camps." (2) Dialogue with Valery Barstow Repeated reference to experiments for "The greater good." H made reference to "the greater good" in his speeches. Doctors shouldn't put their patient's welfare first. Instead, their sole focus should be the collective good. So if they must squander their time, let us turn it to the collective good: with chemistry. Maintaining Clem's trust isn't the focus of these experiments. Our collective welfare is. (3) The vault was supposed to have a very "specific set" of residents. A reference to concentration camps, and who the Ns put in there. (4) References to "Dr. Braun," the head of the old vault's experiments, a rather German name. A reference to Stanislaus Braun from Fallout 3, who was a pre-war German. But you can assure Doctor Braun, if he's even still around, that I have used the time productively. Doctor Braun tasked me with something vital. A series of prototypes and their related... well, experiments, that could redefine society. Doctor Braun is the head of the Societal Preservation Plan. A brilliant scientist and administrator Following in the footsteps of Doctor Braun and the others, I have spent my time devising my very own prototype. (5) The resident "Clem" has a name that, colloquially (in British English), can mean "to cause to suffer from hunger, thirst, or cold" The N often did this to their subjects in their camps. I was prompted to write this by a youtube short I just watched. The short made some really strange claims like Hunter x Hunter should have Kurapika or Killua as the main character instead of Gon; the reasoning being, according to the short creator, HxH is darker than the typical shonen like Naruto, and Gon would be a better main character for a series like Naruto which is less dark. I have so many problems with this entire statement, but I'll stick to my main issue with it - the idea that Naruto isn't as dark as some other shonen.
I think a few weeks back there was another guy on here who was talking about how Naruto is campy compared to JJK. That along with this short has me wondering, how did Naruto get the reputation of a happy go lucky campy kids show where dark things don't happen?
Let me go over some of the dark stuff that happens in Naruto.
The premise of the story is there is a monstrous demon sealed within the body of an orphaned child who is our main character.
The story takes place in a world where the economy is based off of child soldiers/merceneries.
One of the other main character's entire extended clan was genocided because of racism basically. The genocide was committed by the character's brother, who then goes on to torture him by replaying the scene of their parents' murder in his mind hundreds of time clockwork orange style. We later find out the brother was forced to do this as a bargain to save his brother's life by a racist politician. The racist politician has implants of eyes from the race he hates in his arm.
One of the early main villains is an evil genius who kidnaps and experiments on children to learn more about biology. Most of his experiments lead in trauma or death for these kidnapped children. He is so vile, the village whose entire economy depends on training child merceneries, banishes him from the village. He then tries to attain immortality by inserting his soul into the bodies of children he grooms.
One of the most important techniques in the universe requires using human sacrifices to resurrect dead people as zombies. Another of the most important techniques is summoning the god of death to seal a target and your self in the belly of the shinigami for eternity, never able to pass on to afterlife. A third pivotal technique in the show requires you to murder your brotheclosest chum to activate it.
One of the clans in the village has a practice of branding everyone who isn't the firstborn child as part of the branch family. The branding is done literally, with slave tattoos branded onto their foreheads. The slave tattoo makes it so they can never go against the will of their masters - aka firstborn brethren. When they die, the slave tattoo explodes their eyes so it can't be stolen. The family uses this as a tactic to prevent enemies from getting their genetic superpower.
I think I could collect more examples but everyone probably gets the gist of it. What in Hunter x Hunter or JJK is darker than any of this? I feel like JJK only gets its reputation for being dark because it kills of characters willy nilly even though they might be fan favorites. The actual events that take place in the story are no darker than what happens in Naruto. The HxH comment in the youtube short just completely confused me.
Side note: A while back I had a debate with someone on reddit who said Demon Slayer is a family friendly show they just watched with their mum and it isn't dark at all. Now, maybe they and their mum were desensitized to violence, but the story is pretty dark objectively. It starts of with the main character's family brutally murdered by demons, and we see the corpses and the blood. Only a few episodes in we see another demon feasting on a human. Also in this universe demons are vampires/zombies, which means they used to be humans themselves. So it's humans eating humans, an objectively horrific concept. Do people just ignore all this stuff in a story because the main characters are do-goody innocent chibis with cute designs, and there are gag moments?

I went to the outdoor market in Montreal, the Jean Talon Market to ask around for Grass Fed Beef. I stopped after outside the shop to listen to an old musician play this beautiful harp style instrument and took a brief video of just my face and the sky with the music.
While doing this standing off to the side of the "road" I feel something in my space behind me and I turn around to see a black mercedes moving very slowly and stop. He would be about 3-4 inches from my running over my toes when I turn around if not less. I duck a little and peer at the driver to understand what is happening because there is at least 4 feet of space on the other side.
It's an elderly man who gives me the fingeaggressive hand gestures and he's murmuring something aggressive. I thought he would just maybe apologize and at the least that he would pull a little to the left where all the open space was to move away from me.
Nope.
He started driving again at 0.5 miles per hour with his back wheels at most 3 inches from my toes. I was shocked and laughing at him. There I was motionless and standing with my bicycle at the side of a pedestrian zone. You are not supposed to really drive through there and if you do you have to be super careful and yield to all the customers and tourists.
Another old man who was walking my way witnessed what happened and started hitting the cars passenger mirror repeatedly until it folded in as he walked by the car. Probably he was upset this car almost hit a pedestrian and also he was trying to walk by it as well and technically it was cutting very close to him too.
Out of nowhere a third Boomer peeks out into the "road" away from his wife and child and starts yelling in poor English that I was "being violent to the car" which coming from a French perspective, I think he was trying to say I was yelling at the car or something. I'm guessing he had no idea what just happened. He might have. I was headed that way already and when I passed I asked him what he was yelling at me. He had started almost sort of walking away and when I asked him the question he came up to me forcefully at which point I thought ok let me turn on my camera this is crazy.
So the camera came on right after his hip bumped into my handlebar as he came up to yell at me some more. This whole time I wasn't really out to check for grass fed beef but it was near a food delivery I made on bicycle. So basically this is the type of Boomer behavior I see alot while out making three dollars.
LOL.
His wife also chimed in that I was.... I don't know... also to be scolded somehow and then tried to put her hand up in a weird way when she was on camera also accosting me for no reason that isn't her business. At that point they walked away as if they had to stop each other from a bar brawl... it was sad... but simultaneously the old man had parked his car and he was going for a sandwich!
So there he is there accosting me some more after abusing me with his car. So at this point I'm leaving while explaining what happened with the camera still rolling and I looking around me while talking and noticing some busybodies with disapproving faces and one such Boomer started yelling at me to be quiet. I tried to ask her if she saw what happened but she wasn't having any of it. You see later she sneaks up behind me while talking to someone and starts secretly filming the back of my head.
LOL.
At which point I ask her if she speaks English. She says no in a way like I'm the problem. Then I ask her in French if she thinks living in Montreal and not speaking ANY English is bizarre and also why she menaces random people in public.
At this point ANOTHER Boomer walks by into the same store she and her disapproving face friend are going into and he accosts me while walking by that I should shut up and leave her alone. He is saying that the woman who snuck up behind me is a victim somehow even though he is most likely another random Boomer interloper.
The guy with the tattoos was staring at me and not in a good way so I asked him if he wanted to hear what happened and then he started being negative and commanding so I included him as well in the video and asked if he was a Boomer.
He told me to 'just shut up' and then walked away and you can faintly hear it but I believe it was him who as he was walking away just screamed something bizarre.

As the title sugest this is a summoning quirk, (summoning people/beast not objects) but I thought of a few different methods on how it would work, which do you like best?
1.) Just straight up summoning, snapping ones fingers and having beings appear before them pretty boring but simple and efficient
2.) Living Tattoos, on each arm either a sleeve tattoo or just a bunch of small tattoos that can come to life, the arm can't be covered to summon (no long sleeves) and maybe only one tattoo from each arm
3.) Pokeball Style, user can create a marble or ball (like Mr Compress) and throw it to summon
4.) Summoning Menu, the user can project a hologram/hardligh menu from which they can select summons, the menu is either projected from one eye or from a gem growth on the wrist or palm of the hand (like the omnitrix)
5.) Eyeball style, kind of a combination of the last three, the user can remove one or both eyeballs and throw them to summon creatures, their eyeball will appear as either the left or right eye of their summon, having two summons leaves them blind
6.) Tulpamancy, like the first one but instead the summons are all voices in the users head and can be summoned with a snap of their fingers
7.)Toys to Life, the user can use their blood to create metal minatures (by bleeding on to metal, only one figurine will be made every couple months-years) they can then but brought to life via a small amount of blood

My girlfriend and I have been to two weddings this year. The first was for my girlfriends coworker "Jane", the second was for my cousin "Tiffany". They were very different weddings. Jane's was a very chilled out, personalised wedding with lots of little nods to the couples joint interests (their favourite movies as centrepieces/table numbers, video game music for the ceremony etc etc) and we had a blast; the music wasn't for us but they provided plenty of board games and snacks to entertain us in a cosy side room with comfy sofas and a fireplace. Tiffany had what my mother likes to call a cookie cutter white wedding. It was lovely, don't get me wrong, but I've been to a number of near identical weddings over the years and there was nothing about it that stood out as unique or personalised. This about tracks with both Jane and Tiffany. Jane and her husband "Pete" are total nerds who are very passionate about all their hobbies and interests; they play D&D, have frequent cinema dates, always seem to be at festivals and concerts and have more video game consoles than I knew existed. Tiffany is a wannabe influencer type who always keeps up with the latests trends (I play football with her husband "Lance" and during our last match he mentioned she has 11 stanley cups) and has a very carefully curated life on her insta that isn't much like her real life at all.
Despite this, there was one very awful point of similarity at both weddings. A wedding guest died a few days beforehand, both so close to the day that each couple already had their seating arrangement printed and the table placements ready to go. Both incidences involved someone who was already unwell, but took a sudden turn for the worst and died unexpectedly. Jane and Pete lost a friend ("Jeff") and Tiffany and Lance lost Lance's great aunt ("Beryl"). Their responses were also very different.
Jane and Pete left Jeff's seat empty, they placed a picture of him on the table, as well as a bunch of flowers in his favourite colour and a small condolences book that other guests were able to sign (his wife still came to the wedding, I think she just needed a bit of positivity in the wake of all that had happened). They even dedicated a song to Jeff that evening and everyone came together to raise a glass for him and dance with his wife.
Tiffany however, refused to mention Beryl at all. In fact she even banned Beryl's husband from attending the wedding because she didn't want him (or any other guest) to 'bring the vibe down'. She threatened to kick out anyone that mentioned Beryl and basically acted as though she had never existed in the first place. She even reordered her seating arrangement and paid a crazy amount for expedited shipping so she could remove Beryl and her husband from it and had the caterer switch the table up from a 10 person table to an 8 person table (we were at said table, we only found out about Beryl when someone at our table mentioned her and they were shushed into submission by the person next to them - thankfully they filled us in with all the details the next morning at breakfast before Tiffany arrived). Lance and his family are all quite low key people who keep their feelings to themselves, so they went along with all this to avoid an argument. However they were able to sneak in a private toast to Beryl in the courtyard while Tiffany was doing shots with her bridesmaids. Tiffany has not found out about this, so far as I can tell. Of course, from what we've been told, she made a big show about being a grieving relative at the funeral a few weeks later, including lots of selfies of her in all black posing in the churchyard under the cherry blossoms.
While I'm here I'll also tell you all about some of Tiffany's bridezilla moments, or at least the ones I know about. I'm sure there are more.
- Tiffany had to be in every photo, because she was the bride and the 'star of the show'. Lance was not allowed pictures alone with his family or best men despite Tiffany having an insane number taken with her bridesmaids and immediate family (I was not included).

- One groomsman was almost banned from being in the photos because his face was badly sunburnt after a work trip to Greece. I think they ended up putting makeup on him to hide it...
- She decided to go childfree AFTER agreeing to have her niece be a flowergirl and buying the dress because she didn't like how the little girl looked in HER dress choice.
- She paid for a photobooth for the wedding using the couples savings without telling Lance. The package she paid for was a 'luxury' option, so was VERY expensive.
- No female guest was allowed to have unnatural hair or tattoos on show, and all make up (including nail colour) and hair styles had to be from a pre approved list.
- She didn't mention Lance once in her speech.
As I said, I'm sure there is more, but these are all the bridezilla moments I can think of for now. Justin used to get a tattoo once every few months, when he was building his sleeve he got one a week, it's been literally 3 to 4 years since he got any new tattoos. I know he always joked in interviews that Hailey doesn't want him to get anymore, but since when has anyone listened to their partner when it comes to tattoos, not to mention Hailey herself gets around 1-2 new ones per year. If he wanted to save space for his future and his children, he has plenty of space. His legs and back are almost perfectly empty.
I'm asking cause it was Justin who inspired me to get my first tat. Of course over the years my taste in tattoos has changed, and I'm glad I didn't get mine as quickly as Justin, cause now I like different things, but yeah I wanted to explain why this interests me. I have never been more hooked on a game ever so much in my life. This game manages to hit all my hyperfixations in one. Literally my alt girl mythos gamer girl wet dream.
And i have so much yet to do even though Ive made good progress just from this weekend. This game is going to consume me and i couldnt be happier.
I was already planning on getting a dagger tattoo (as part of a larger fantasy themed tat for a sleeve i have in mind) but now i wanna pair that dagger with her sister sickle 😏 (daggesickle dw is by far my fav weapon)

Elena The Friend of the Dead is a woman from Bilgewater who after the Ruination travelled to the Shadow Isles just to take care of lost sad ghosts.
She quality for may contest by having a kit greatly connected to lore and her ultimate is also unique as it is a conditional passive.

Elena never got along with other people, they were way to confusing for her. Most enjoyed loud environments with a lot of people and sounds, said things such as How are you today? Without ever actually caring about how the person actually are. While she was born in Bilgewater, it never really felt like home. Although, she did enjoy sailing out at sea to just be alone with the waters. Out there she primarily thought about stories or read them. Just making sure she caught at least some fish before returning to shore to make sure no one would cuss her out. One day she was out far and encountered a strange creature. It was a lost little ghost who had tried to escape the Shadow Isle. It at first got really scared of Elena, but she was able to comfort it and eventually it got close enough for Elena to hug it. She was honestly not sure how it happened, but the little ghost became her friend and she hid it as she returned home.
Back at her home she studied more about ghosts and the Ruination, TBC
Appearance:
Elena is a tall woman in a colorful and moderately revealing dress. Her entire body and face is tattooed in Day of the Dead style, giving her an undead look even though she is still very much alive.
Her Ghostlings are pretty traditional cute little ghosts you would find in children's tales.
Her general demeanor and attitude is very cheery and wholesome with a touch of macabre fascination with death.

Elena never got along with other people, they were way to confusing for her. Most enjoyed loud environments with a lot of people and sounds, said things such as How are you today? Without ever actually caring about how the person actually are. While she was born in Bilgewater, it never really felt like home. Although, she did enjoy sailing out at sea to just be alone with the waters. Out there she primarily thought about stories or read them. Just making sure she caught at least some fish before returning to shore to make sure no one would cuss her out. One day she was out far and encountered a strange creature. It was a lost little ghost who had tried to escape the Shadow Isle. It at first got really scared of Elena, but she was able to comfort it and eventually it got close enough for Elena to hug it. She was honestly not sure how it happened, but the little ghost became her friend and she hid it as she returned home.

Elena is a tall woman in a colorful and moderately revealing dress. Her entire body and face is tattooed in Day of the Dead style, giving her an undead look even though she is still very much alive.
Her Ghostlings are pretty traditional cute little ghosts you would find in children's tales.
Her general demeanor and attitude is very cheery and wholesome with a touch of macabre fascination with death.
