• We met online. His profile states he wants a LTR with taking things slow and not committing too early. He also really wants children. He asked some of those harder questions on the first date, and then texted a follow up "I'd like to see you again. I think there's potential."
• On our second date we made out. He didn't expect it, I did, but neither of us wanted sex that night. It was true for both, as he said he wants to try old school, wait until there is a stronger connection. He says he's looking for a future wife.
• I only have one ovary and was upfront about that. He then replied "so if we were to try one day, it would take us longer."
• We talked about sex! I love it. Wants, needs, some experiences. I'm all in on that. He mentioned a few times things like, trust me all guys like that. Next time you have a boyfriend, and not saying it's me, most men like this. He talked about keeping things fresh, as it can be hard with relationships and said "if we were together 10 years" I'd still want new things, then said "I don't know why I keep saying that."

I was in a narcissistic/trauma bond relationship for many years. I have done a lot of healing and exploring in the year I have been out of that situation, however, I am so concerned about falling into this again. I believe my gut and intuition will stop this from happening, but I'd rather end things sooner than later. My gut says he's safe, and it feels that way. But, my compass may be off and this feels comfortable vs safe. Or, I'm just paranoid and getting in my own way?

So my first therapy session is Thursday. It’s taken me a long, long, time to make this first step. Last week I finally just came clean to my wife about my on-going sex and porn addiction. It was eating me alive inside and I just couldn’t go on living with these secrets.
She’s being supportive but her idea of me is completely shattered. Everything she thought I was is a lie (she said).

Because of what happened to me as a teen when I became an adult I sought out xxx arcades with GH's, joined sex finder apps, gay dating sites, used Backpage for casual encounters with men and trans women, hired trans escorts routinely, everything and anything to try to and satiate my appetites. I used people as human Fleshlights to get me off for years.
I finally woke up and realized what I have been doing and how hollow and empty and ashamed I am.
I truly hope I can overcome this and find a way to enjoy intimacy with my wife without the use of porn, fetishes, etc., again.

I don't know what to do, since she doesn't want to block me. I don't want to leave her either, but it hurts so bad. She did say that she loves me, but she just doesn't feel good enough. I know this might offend some. But My personal observation from a few years ago, like 6-7 years ago to be precise, when I was tuned into feminism for the first time, the media and culture was quite better or maybe the one I was exposed to because I had friends that time who were feminists. Right now what I’m observing is a massive shift in the media, especially in the treatment of women, romanticizing unavailable men, glorifying unsafe behavior as romantic gesture. I don’t know about you, but I’m largely inspired by media, movies, shows, songs, books, articles, instagram etc. and so is majority of generation. Because of this, there have been two categories of women in terms of dating majorly, one is where women are in love with an unavailable, toxic man and not able to get over that, this is so sad and common. This is majority of my outer circle, observation and instagram feed with so many girls finding that relatable, being in the space of being hurt, rejected, abused,unable to get out, gaslighted, longing for something. And I really blame this on media for being so misogynist in such a disguise, neither men who are behaving like that see it, neither these stuck women see it. Don’t get me wrong, I do believe there are people aware and benefiting from this as well. But it is indeed very tricky because generation to generation there’s a new norm always and we loose hindsight of the progress in terms of treatment of women. Some examples of this media is trad wife glorification, “no seal no deal”, pick me girls, I’m south Asian so I can name atleast a few movies that came out recently glorifying physical abuse, disrespect all in name of love. I saw a video on instagram, where a boy says that a girl he’s been talking to has blocked him online so that surely means she wants to see him inperson and now he’s on the flight. As an abuse survivor, my abuser has come knocking to my door in middle of the night after I blocked them. This is not romantic. It’s scary. The women in comments says where they could find a guy like that nowadays 😅 I m seriously worried for this generation
The second space of women are the ones who have been in first categories shoes or observed it, understood it, and now are choosing not to settle. Even if it’s traditionally considered late for them. Because they understand how much there’s to loose if you let a wrong person in your life. I’m becoming this second one slowly.
Nevertheless, to say in all this, dating has become tougher now. But it’s okay, it’s not worth to settle regardless.

So, I'm a Latino in his 20's trying to flirt with latinas. I've been doing everything society tells me to do, I'm pretty consistent working out, I'm constantly polishing my self-esteem, working on my personal projects, got a decent job while I'm studying. Also I'm pretty good at my job, colleagues and coworkers, even, my bosses tell me I'm amazing at what I do. Also, people have told me and I think I'm handsome, besides I'm working on my self-image as well.
And still. Went into a 3-day dating app streak seeking girls and only made one match, that didn't last even a day since we found out we were completely opposite worlds!
It's probably that, 1) I don't know how to interact and flirt with people online (and in real life), I tend to speak way too much and not accordingly to the extension of what the other person is texting me, and 2) I don't know how to set a proper dating app account up. My pictures aren't that attractive, possibly.
I'm open to any advice on how to improve my online interactions, choose better pictures for my dating app profile, or any other suggestions that might help me in my dating journey. Thanks in advance for your help!

tldr, i don't know if i like men because i find THEM attractive, or if i'm attracted to how much easier it would be where i live and feel content with avoiding confrontation, but there's other factors at play as well
i've never really had to question my attraction towards women since discovering i was queer. the road to figuring it out was far from linear, but once i made that realization, i never second guessed it or felt like a faker. whenever i find myself with feelings for a woman, my only question is whether it would be worth pursuing further or if "she totally flirted with me" is just projecting because that's what i want her to be doing
i also have OCD and very likely autism (if i could pursue a diagnosis without discrimination following, i absolutely would) so i've had trouble discerning between different types of relationships for some time now, pretty much my entire life. usually, my attractions towards men are on those who either express an interest in me first (or that happens to be what i perceive), or they treat me well and objectively would be a healthy candidate for a partner. along with difficulty knowing whether i'm feeling platonically or romantically interested, the most difficult part for me is recognizing whether i'm feeling this attraction because it's what i truly want for myself, or if it's because it's "easier" and i'm just happy to avoid confrontation and that i can say "see, look, i do like men!" since most of my family is incredibly queerphobic, and i live in a somewhat religious area of the south (while not being religious myself). and i do recognize that my whole life i've very much so been a people pleaser, and spent some years forcing myself to be straight, even after realizing i was queer, which is part of why i'm having so much trouble now.
i've attempted mentally putting myself into romantically intimate situations with men to determine if i would enjoy it, but i always feel completely neutral because i know it's not real. i've always found it difficult to place myself in a situation that i know isn't real, especially if i haven't actually been in it myself; deaths in movies or series never bothered me until my grandfather passed, and while i may get a bit choked up now, it never has a lasting effect on me since i realize that it's fiction and i can still consume content relating to the character or keep up with the actor. i have the same problem imagining myself in these scenarios with women, who i have dated and know for certain i am interested in; i understand that it's not real, so the appeal is lost on me. i also know for certain that i'm entirely ace, so any kind of sexual intimacy either leaves me disinterested or actively grossed out, regardless of gender.
i've also tried looking at other resources online, like hearing stories from other sapphics who were intensely questioning at one point, but there's not been any clarity from them. i've always been more introverted, so actively looking around to meet people i don't already know can become very draining very quickly, but since this kind of socialization is often a key part of other people's stories, i can't relate and have trouble connecting with anything else they say from that point on, which makes it difficult to find parts of their story i relate to enough to be able to come to a conclusion. i also know that every individual experience with being lesbian, bi+, or any queer ID is different from person to person, and i used to struggle with mirroring the people i was with as a form of masking so i feel like i sit at the opposite end of that spectrum now, actively distancing myself from random stories online that i might otherwise relate to out of fear of pretty much identically starting to mimic them.
i'm not looking for someone to give me the answer directly, moreso maybe some advice or tips on how i can see the difference between genuine attraction and appreciating the convenience of it for myself? i would have no issues with being either lesbian or omni/bi+, i'm entirely comfortable with my attraction to women and have never had any issues with the mspec community. i also know i don't need to find the answers right away, but after some years of constant back-and-forth it's only become increasingly uncomfortable to view myself as a complete stranger. it feels like there's a core part of me missing, and until i have it figured out, i just don't feel wholly connected with myself. throw the gender dysphoria into the mix and holy moly i am not having a great time

TW: unhealthy relationships, abuse, drugs, self harm
For context, my(22F) ex(23M), Jason, & I dated for 2.5 years. I basically spent the entire time trying to leave but he wouldn’t let me, even when I tried telling him that I’m pretty sure I’m a lesbian on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I developed multiple stress-related autoimmune issues during it, started self harming again, & may have had a stress seizure (I had stress induced seizures as a young teen but outgrew it). I was so visibly unwell that my extended family members started reaching out to my parents.
About 6 months into this relationship, Jason introduced me to his friend “Mark”. We clicked immediately bc we’re both autistic & have overlapping special interests. For 2 years, Jason & I would go over to Marks house. Jason would spend the entire time scrolling TikTok or sleeping, despite Mark & I trying to involve him. Bc of this, Mark & I became friends.
When I broke up with Jason 7 months ago (after a 2 month break), I figured my friendship with Mark was probably over bc I wasn’t sure if it would be weird for us to hang out. That was until a couple weeks ago when Jason had an oxy relapse & did some minor stalker shit, which triggered my PTSD from one of my previous ex’s stalking me. I called his dad & he brought him to a psych hospital. While he was admitted, Mark & I met up to discuss how to handle Jason. I want what’s best for him but I need space & I felt like Mark needed to know what was going on.
After that, we started hanging out a lot. The last 2 weeks, we’ve hung out almost every day (my job is online so I work while we hang out & he just finished college). We smoke weed, have doggy play dates, watch TV, & body double for each other when we need to get chores done (it helps our ADHD).
Nothing romantic or sexual has or will happen due to 1) im 99% sure I’m gay, & even if I’m actually just bi, I have zero interest in being with a man again & I’ve already met a girl I really like & 2) he just left his abusive ex gf, & it was so bad he doesn’t even want to be with women anymore (he’s pan so he’s happy to date men/enbies).

I downloaded bumble for the very first time a little less than a year ago. I was excited to actually try dating apps at first, since I never had. I had done online dating, but through the old school PC based apps like OK cupid, I got 2 long term relationships from those and was now trying bumble since it seemed that's where the people were.
I even liked the spin where women had to message first. As a man, her showing some effort is wonderful, I don't have to come up with my most witty opener, just to hear crickets. If she engages first, there must be something she likes about me. At first, this worked well. I got a few matches, and went on some dates, but within a few months, the matches started to degrade in quality and they became less frequent and the experience got stale. I don't know for sure, but I suspect your algorithm "got to know me" a little better, and decided I was only worthy of people I wasn't overly interested in.
I could tell your algorithm was struggling when the distances from my place started getting longer and longer for my matches. I live in a place of over 2 million people, so that's not the problem. But let me tell you something, I was getting notifications from my phone 3 or 4 times a day! I want desperately a long term relationship again.
I do well in relationships and when my phone would ding, I'd get excited, only to have it be an ad from YOU bumble, or some sort of weird pep talk that "Confidence is hot" or that "my boss wouldn't know about my profile?" What? Thanks but having been in several relationships and knowing women in real life, I really didn't need the pep talk that "confidence is hot" and I'm quite sure my boss doesn't give a shit what I do on bumble. So since I now equated notifications with nonsense from you. I stopped even checking, maybe I'd check a couple times a week instead of everyday like I was. I lost engagement and yes, I even lost matches, because it was easier to risk losing a match than get my hopes up over your harassing notifications.
Then I noticed something else, almost every profile had heavily filtered pictures, and very few of the pictures were of someplace local. Again, I live in a place of 2 million people...sort of strange that almost no one has a picture that looks like it was taken around here. Nope, apparently everyone is in Bali all the time. I can only assume that these profiles are to pad out your women numbers. I don't know how you're doing it, but I've seen the picture of heavily filtered Megan by the Eiffel tower at least 3 times now. It's getting old.
Because I wasn't engaged as much, I obviously got less dates. You can certainly blame me for that if you wish, but I think I'm the kind of man you want on your app. I'm not perfect. I mean, I'm divorced for one.......but I'm well educated and I think I have my house in order and I'm not out here just sending dick pics or trying to get laid. I put some thought into my messages and into my profile. I'm really looking for a woman to experience the world with!
Now with your rebrand....I have to say, I'm getting tired, I understand you need to build a user base of women and need to cater to that, but it is us men that are paying the bills, we're the ones buying spotlights, or super likes or whatever you're calling it these days, we're the ones shelling out hundreds of dollars in just a hope that we might go on a date with a woman that we can share the world with. The reality bumble, is that dates aren't happening anymore or at any frequency that justifies spending anything. I'm not on your app to swipe, I'm not on your app to spotlight, or like or even text with someone. I'm on your app because I want to go on dates.
Now let's go through the progression of how that happens on your app.
First I have to create a top notch profile; And because your gender ratio is 2 to 1 men to women, I better be in the top half because if not, there's not going to be any matches, just by simple math. If the ratio is 2 to 1 and every single woman matches with a DIFFERENT man, there's still 50% of men without a match.
THEN, I have to swipe, which....is a soul crushing activity on any app if you're actually looking for a long term relationship.
THEN I get a match! Oh boy!.............Then she has to respond in 24 hours. Hope she doesn't get sick or have a big work project or forget about me in her sea of matches and dick pics!
THEN she gets to send an "Opening move" AKA AI Generated nonsense.
THEN I Have to respond.....and again, it better be a top notch witty response. Like it has to be funny and interesting at the level of Anthony Bourdain Meets James Bond Meets Robin Williams meets Bob Ross levels!
THEN if she likes it, then and only then will I get a text, a text, not a date, a text from an actual woman, and its likely to be "Hey or something else low effort"
THEN we have to hope that continues long enough to appropriately share numbers or get an actual date arranged.
If this is the way you're going to run it bumble.........then I have to say, I'll just walk up to some woman at a bar. She might say no, we might find we're incompatible in the first 5 seconds, but at least a date or prelude to a date happened.
You're a dating app after all. If dates aren't happening or require that many hoops, that could get screwed by your algorithms at any time, than I, and I hope many other men like me get off your application yesterday, and I certainly hope they spend not one more dime until this subreddit's front page is filled with stories of GOOD MEN and GOOD WOMEN meeting from bumble. THAT is how you will make money, and THAT is how you will repair your significantly tarnished reputation among both men and women. Ladies, I can't imagine this is working for you either.
As an epilogue. I hired matchmaker............she wasn't cheap, but unlike you, she doesn't upsell me daily, she listens to me, she doesn't blow smoke about what is and isn't realistic, and more importantly, her matches are good and getting better, and dates are actually happening. That's more than I can say for you. It's a shame matchmaking isn't accessible to everyone, or you'd be out of business even faster. Hello. I am fairly new to online dating and matched with a guy off Bumble in the military. We had been talking online for a bit and managed to call around 3-4 times. After those phone calls he started to show behavior that seemed as though they could be red flags of being married, those being he could not call at night, ever (despite texting, so he was awake), was extremely hesitant to give me his instagram, tried calling him but declined because he was "too embarrassed" to talk in front of his roommate, who he would not specify the gender of, extremely vague about his dating history etc. I know military men marry young and have a few friends married to military, so I did not want to jump to any conclusions, but red flags came up.
I decided to just ask him, "hey, are you married? Haha?" and I was met with a no and he had somewhat legitimate excuses as to why these slightly bizarre behaviors were happening. To be triple safe I decided to look up his name on one of those background check sites and I found no marriage records. One night we were deep in a phone call and we had planned to finally meet. Stupidly I made a joke about looking him up online and found out he really is single, good news for us! It really did just slip out because I felt so comfortable talking to him on the phone. Well, it did not go how I thought it would. On the phone he seemed really creeped out and kept asking what would provoke me to look him up. He kept insisting that he found this to be weird.
Now, I admit, it was weird to admit, but it slipped out because prior to me saying that we were making jokes about me thinking he was married and we both laughed it off and agreed to put it in the past. Despite all of this he still planned the date and we talked everyday the week prior to meeting and he insisted he was exciting on meeting.
The day of the date comes and he texts me in the morning confirming the date was still on . I get ready and my instincts tell me to check my phone before leaving for the date. I get a text from him 5 minutes before I'm supposed to leave saying "idk if this should happen". I ask him why? He then proceeds to tell me he can't get over the fact I looked up his name online and then cancelled the date and did not want to meet anymore. Gave me a "sorry" and no other explanation. He also blocked me on Instagram and Snapchat. I told him ok and we never talked again.
Was me telling him I looked up his name online truly a red flag on my end? Is this behavior of someone who may not be honest about their relationship status? Would you cancel a date if someone told you that?

I hope this doesn't come off as a stupid question, so here's context to my situation, hopefully maybe someone else has been in a similar position and has had better luck,,
I [28m] am a mostly introverted, Enochlophobic person who's hobbies are videogames, manga, Anime, and collecting figures/statues/toys
As per many suggestions, clubs/bars are difficult for me because I dont like alcohol (I've been trying since 21 and I never acquired a taste for it, I think it's safe to say its not my thing.) and I tend to also internally freak out in crowded, loud environments, especially if im by myself or under some kind of pressure.
I've tried the big 3 online dating apps (Tinder, Hinge, Bumble), but seeing as im not a conventionally attractive guy in what from my understanding of O.L.D in a sea of endless, insignificant men, I've had 0 dates to this day.
I have in fact dated before, only 1 girl and our relationship lasted 5 years, so I know im capable, and I know, I'm at the very least average looking. But that relationship came out of sheer luck, lots of situational factors allowed that to happen and I genuinely dont think something like that can happen again, at least not with me sitting around doing nothing.
At this time I only have 1 true irl friend, who's rarely available (grown up shenanigans) and my current job is a very secluded position, my times and interactions with other coworkers is extremely limited. and to top things off, its a leadership position, so I cant really get close to my coworkers,, at least not untill I leave ofc. but idk when that might be.
I'm not sure where else to turn to.
also for what its worth, as a man, I am in fact comfortable with my sexuality and identity, but I really struggle with the social part of being a man. At least as the kind of man I've grown to become. I feel like I dont fit in with other guys because im not "manly" enough to be accepted, and with women I feel like a nuisance, I feel guilty to even be interested or look in the general direction of someone I find attractive. And I get it, I just don't want to be yet another man making women uncomfortable yknow?

I just at the very least want to get started somewhere, I understand things wont just magically work out with the first person I meet, but I just already want to experience other people and do other things outside of the mundane eat sleep and work.

I'm an 18-year-old guy, and I recently finished up my first year of university. I've had a lot of free time lately since I don't start working for another week, and I stumbled upon some blackpill/incel content online. Since then, it's been about 3 weeks, and I can easily say that whatever confidence I've built up over the last few years has been completely burnt down.
For reference, I'm about 173 cm (5'8) and live in Canada. I've been weightlifting and working out consistently for 2 years, and am in good shape. I'm South Asian and grew up in a pretty diverse neighborhood, so I didn't feel too out of place because of my race for the most part. Around 20 days ago, I stumbled upon the shortguys and ExposingHeightism subreddits because I saw a TikTok making fun of guys around my height. I don't think I've had serious issues about my relatively short stature up until now, primarily because I haven't started dating seriously and have been extremely occupied with hobbies (chess, politics, comp sci, reading, etc). After watching some of the content here, I feel like I've become addicted to it, and I feel like all my free time is spent watching more and more content about how unattractive my height is. Seeing TikToks and tweets online making fun of guys my height and shorter, and also how many women find short men repulsive has seriously damaged my confidence. Along with that, seeing statistics about how many women put up height requirements in online dating and about how many of them find tall men attractive has made me super insecure about my masculinity as a whole. I feel like I've seen so many TikToks where women around my age view men shorter than them, or just shorter in general as subhuman. I've spent so much time drowning in this incel content that it's the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep. I've thrown all my hobbies out the window to stay up late and wallow in this depressive content. I'm addicted, and I've spent countless hours over the last few days consuming this content.
I've been constantly comparing myself to other people. I find myself searching up celebrity heights just for the sake of it. I've brought up height so much in casual conversations that my friends and family are starting to pick up on this crippling insecurity. I find myself trying to fix my posture and stand up as straight as possible when I'm around my close friends, just to feel like I'm almost at their eye level. All of them are taller than me (around 182+ cm, 6'0 and up) and it has taken a serious drag at my perspective of masculinity and how people perceive me. I'm constantly thinking about height and feel like I have reduced myself and the people around me to that, and nothing else. I feel as if height is so important, and there's nothing I can do about it. I seriously think being tall is one of the greatest genetic gifts, and it pains me that I will never experience it. To all of you wondering, there is no chance I will get taller as well, my mom is only 4'11, and my dad is 5'4.
A lot of my taller friends (190+ cm, 6'3 and up) have talked about how nice it is to be tall and how much it has positively impacted their dating experience. I haven't even started talking to girls seriously, I've never been on a date, and haven't had my first kiss. I feel like my ethnicity and looks are going to be a huge shortcoming when I start doing so, and I already know that when I get rejected it's going to take me down completely. I used to be confident in myself, happy, and viewed the world and myself optimistically. Now, I've scared myself into believing that dating and finding serious relationships is gonna be a huge struggle, that I'm too ugly to feel good about myself, and that I'll never be good enough. I feel like I can't even look at myself in the mirror without tearing up. My recent obsession with height, facial attractiveness, dating statistics, blackpill content, and the incel movement has transformed me from an extremely happy teenager to a guy that sits in my bed all day feeling depressed and horrible about myself. How can I get myself out of this rabbit hole?
