Before we begin: units should not be compared 1:1 in a vacuum, because that's not how Warhammer is played. I am also not claiming that the Helbrute is some hidden god; I believe currently it's strictly worse to the Maulerfiend. I simply state that it is more viable than people believe.
First and foremost, I hear a lot of people heavily overstating the supposed crippling nature of having no invuln save. The Land Raider doesn't either, and people don't debate it's durability. A 2+ save puts in a ton of work. If you're playing World Eaters correctly, that Helbrute should be getting the Benefit of Cover at all times it's not in engagement. That means in order to be reduced to a point where it would actually need a 5+ invuln (Like other Daemon Engines or War Dogs) it would need to get hit with a weapon that has MINUS FIVE AP, which is utterly ludicrous. If it gets hit with an attack of only -1AP while still in cover, it's save doesn't even get changed and it still saves on a 2+. So even if, for some ungodly reason, somebody decided to shoot a Helbrute with a Knight Acastus Porphyrion's Twin Magma Lascannon, that Helbrute is still going to save on a 5+. It would take something akin to a Knight Dominus or Titan to bring enough AP to actually reduce a covered Helbrute past a 5+, and I'll get to why this doesn't even matter later.
Except unlike most models with an invuln or 2+ save, Helbrutes also get access to Feel no Pain 6+, which to spare a lot of math, is effectively a +20% increase in durability. So actually, in most cases, once the attack gets past the "rolling to wound" part and reaches the "roll to save" part, the Helbrute has a better chance of shrugging off an attack than equivalent models, which normally rely on their invuln or high save (unless you're getting shot by a Warhound Titan or something else ludicrous), because it has multiple layers of defense instead of relying on just one layer to protect it.
Lets do the comparison on the two most common anti-tank weapons; a Multi-Melta, and a Lascannon. All of this assumes that the Helbrute has the Benefit of Cover, as it usually would (should).
But that's not where it ends. There's a psychological layer to the Helbrute's defense, since as aforementioned, Warhammer is not a game analyzed in a vacuum. It does need to be run in the correct army. This is where I explain why even IF the enemy has brought a unit with AP higher than -4, it's never going to affect the Helbrute.
Here's a scenario; you are facing a World Eaters player. You have a few anti-tank guns ready to fire, including maybe one HUGE anti-everything gun like a Volcano Lance. You can either shoot at:
But what makes the Helbrute great is that he's a genuine threat when he's in range. So as he sneaks up the board while the big boys run havok, his job is to clean up shop in the midfield. His profile is far scarier than it immediately appears. Outside of the obvious [X Hits] and [Fights on Death] of the Khorne Kasino, he effectively has DOUBLE his attacks, since anything he charges is REQUIRED to attack him back, which triggers Frenzy. Remember the math; the Helbrute is more durable than people think. It's also faster than people think. Fully Blessing buffed, a Helbrute's movement speed is 8" + 3D6, meaning a minimum move-n-charge of 11", a maximum of 26", and an average of 18". It can also be given Apoplectic Frenzy to get a guaranteed 14" inches. So for the cost of 1CP, it is the same guaranteed speed as a War Dog Karnivore.
Say your Helbrute charges a Land Raider with a Fist. It gets 6 attacks at S13, AP-2, and 3D. You have a 66% chance to hit, a 66% chance to wound, and because you're right on top of it, that Land Raider is getting no cover and only has a 50% chance to save. You need 6 successful attacks to kill the Raider from full health. So supposedly, you'd need all attacks to land in order to kill. EXCEPT... that's not true. Since you're in the Fight Phase, the enemy Raider is FORCED to attack you back with its weak tank treads...... which immediately triggers Frenzy, giving the Helbrute another 6 attacks. The Helbrute now only has to successfully wound the Raider 50% of the time to outright kill it from full health, which it is statistically favored to achieve, even moreso if it has Lethal or Sustained Hits. You could, alternatively, choose to shoot a nearby unit instead just for the heck of it, like firing a Multi-Melta at a nearby second vehicle.
Thanks to Frenzy, it also gets to attack twice in the ENEMY fight phase as well. It gets one free attack, and then a bonus attack every time it's targeted. This makes it one of the only units in the game that cannot be "mobbed" by the "only gets to attack once" rule. Every unit that dares to get in engagement will be eating Helbrute hands.
Say your Helbrute is surrounded by a few infantry units. Their weak guns are almost guaranteed to do nothing to you. They can either ignore you, and as such are zero threat, or they can attempt to shoot you to try and deal some chip damage. Thanks to Frenzy, for EVERY unit that attempts to do so, you get to pump gunfire into any unit of your choice. Is there an enemy tank just out of range of your charge, and you get attacked? Take some Melta/Lascannon shots at it. Did you just get shot while in engagement by an enemy Lascannon? Well now you get another free round of melee.
Since the Helbrute should ALWAYS either be in cover or in engagement, and as such either always gets +1 to save or -1 to be hit, and Frenzy triggers regardless of damage done, he will be getting more uses out of his ability than you'd immediately assume. Even just the THREAT of a Frenzy retaliation can often stop people from attacking. If a person thinks they're going to eat two Multi-Melta shots if they dare target the Helbrute, they'll think twice about it.
Overall, the Helbrute is being criminally undervalued, especially on the basis of non-claims like a lack of durability or a lack of speed. It provably does not NEED an invuln in the majority of scenarios, and if run correctly is rarely even attacked by anti-tank guns in the first place. It is mostly immune to small arms fire, and thanks to Frenzy gets a shocking amount of powerful attacks in every Fight Phase it survives. It's a high school bully, using its brawn to beat up the targets it knows can't fight back, while also being low-key enough to avoid attention from the AP Principal. It's a great midfield threat, and you should give it a chance!

A 5+ invuln save would have done nothing. However, if the save fails, and the Helbrute is hit by D6(+2) damage, it has a 16% chance to negate every point of damage it takes. So ultimately, the attacker still has 50% chance to fail their wound roll, and the Helbrute has not just a 33% chance to negate the entire attack, but then a 16% chance to negate each individual damage taken. It then also gets to shoot back because of Frenzy with it's own Multi-Melta.
- A Lascannon typically only has one shot, wounds on a 3, but only reduces the Helbrute to a 4+ save. A 3+ save model would be reduced to a 5+. So despite being a dedicated anti-tank weapon, the Helbrute STILL has the same exact chance to avoid taking the hit as the Multi-Melta. The attacker only has a 33% chance to fail the wound, but the Helbrute has a 50% chance to negate the wound, and then STILL has that Feel No Pain 6+. The Lascannon is mathematically no more threatening than the Multi-Melta is, and this is solely because it has a 2+ save. The 5+ invuln, or lack thereof, was irrelevant.
- Small arms fire is even less effective. Let's take a non-supercharged Plasma Pistol, which is the most common "elite sidearm" for most armies. These typically get one shot, only wounds on 5s even when supercharged, and only has AP-2/-3. The attack already has a 66% chance to fail, and if it does succeed, the Helbrute either has a 3+ or 4+ save, so 66%/50% chance to save. It then has the Feel No Pain. The Helbrute is favored to eat a supercharged plasma pistol to the face and take 2 or less damage, if any.
- I don't think I need to explain why the average bolter does literally nothing to a Helbrute, and just triggers a Frenzy in retaliation.

- A Maulerfiend ready to tear your Land Raider to shreds because it took 1 wound of damage earlier.
- A Forgefiend taking potshots at your Terminator brick and has killed two already.
- A funny small Dreadnought hiding behind a wall who maybe wants to attack an objective you're only half-dedicated to.

If you manage to break all Snow Spirits free in seven days, then the Spirit Events will be safe. But, if you fail, then I'll turn this world into absolute chaos."
Mario, Sonic and Cloud awaken in Sparkleton, now renamed Ifriton, and turned into a mess with erupting volcanoes and magma, alongside Toad. Toad gets acquainted with Cloud, who tells him that Sephiroth is his enemy and he has a score to settle with him. Toad tells Mario, Sonic and Cloud about Bowser, Eggman and Sephiroth's attack on Frostown, and soon, the group decides to start competing in the game.
You can switch between Mario, Sonic and Cloud at any time: Mario's field ability is going into pipes and use power ups, Sonic can use his spin dash and homing attack to create pathways and knock down bridges, and Cloud can use his Buster Sword to break crates and cut chains. Some character events can only be played as Mario or as Sonic or as Cloud, for instance Luigi only wants to compete with Mario, Tails only with Sonic, and Tifa only with Cloud.
Some missions allow you to beat certain characters in events, causing them to join your party and become playable in missions (aside from missions which are locked to specific characters). Each character has a special challenge minigame, most of which are based on Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for the DS.
Bosses are of two types: some are played out like normal events (with special conditions) where you have to beat the boss, while some others, called Special Bosses (such as the transformed forms of the Snow Spirits and the final boss Jenova BOWMAN) are fought like platformeaction battles involving you switching between Mario (using his ground pound and fireballs), Sonic (using his spindash and homing attacks) and Cloud (using the buster sword). Bosses can be refought, including special bosses. Most minibosses, AKA event bosses that don't conclude a world, are unlocked in most modes by beating them during the story (though they're never playable in the story itself), while main bosses and special bosses are never playable.

Story Mode - The Jenova Game
Intro

Each location, aside from the final one, has two events bosses (a miniboss that you unlock as a playable character by defeating it, a boss that is not a playable character- Ifriton (Sparkleton): The Spirit Town ruled by the Sparkling Spirit Sparky, AKA Ifrit. It's plagued by erupting volcanoes and magma. Its bosses are Jet, Dry Bones and the special boss Ifrit.
- Leviastraits (Polastraits): The Spirit Town ruled by the Waving Spirit Pola, AKA Leviathan. It's plagued by tsunami and whirlpools. Its bosses are Petey Piranha, Chaos and the special boss Leviathan.
- Ramyrinth (Cubyrinth): The Spirit Town ruled by the Thundering Spirit Cuby, AKA Ramuh. It's plagued by thunderstorms and earthquakes. Its bosses are Omega, King Goomba and the special boss Ramuh.
- Shivapeak (Icepeak): The Spirit Town ruled by the Freezing Spirit Icy, AKA Shiva. It's plagued by blizzards and avalanches. Its bosses are King Boo, Nack the Weasel and the special boss Shiva.
- Odinland (Blizland): The Spirit Town ruled by the Heroic Spirit Blizza, AKA Odin. It's plagued by darkness, fog and ghosts. Its bosses are Orbot and Kamek and the special boss Odin.
- Bahamutown (Frostown): The Spirit Town ruled by the Leader Spirit Frosty, AKA Bahamut. It's been turned into a futuristic amusement park in perpetual night, which contains Bowser Jr's arcade/casino Koopa Kasino and Metal Sonic's nightclub/disco Metal Madness. Its bosses are Bowser Jr and Metal Sonic, who you have to seek out in their lairs and beat (before challenging them in an event, you have to beat Bowser Jr. in a minigame of poker and Metal Sonic in a dancing minigame) in order to get their keys and access the center of the town, where you challenge special boss Bahamut. After finishing the game, the "Kamurocho-style" bar called New Serena appears where Bahamut was fought: there you can meet "four travelers from a faraway kingdom known as Japan" (Ryu Hayabusa, Kazuma Kiryu, Travis Touchdown and Ryo Hazuki), who reveal you that they are the Japanese national team who won the 2026 Olympics, and you can talk to to play the "Gauntlets".
- The Heart of Jenova: A castle that has appeared in Bahamutown, comprised of a fusion between Bowser's Castle, Eggman's Factory and Sephiroth's Northern Cave and acting as the trio's hideout. The final bosses are Bowser and Dr. Eggman (as a tag team), then Sephiroth as the final event boss, and then the final boss, the special boss Jenova BOWMAN (a fusion between Bowser, Eggman, Sephiroth and Frosty/Bahamut).
- The Aurora Ruins/Wanda Dimension (DLC: The Aurora Ruins): An ancient Spirit Town which used to be ruled by the Snow Spirit Aurora, who was corrupted and became Culex. It's now a barren wasteland covered in mist. Its bosses are Squall, Zidane, Tidus and Clive, which, like Bowser Jr and Metal Sonic, can be beaten in any order. Tidus, Squall, Zidane and Clive are the four crystals of Culex, which took the personalities and looks of people from other worlds after absorbing them. Beating all of them allows you to go fight the special boss Culex. You need to have finished the story to access it.
Gameplay of the Jenova Game
The game plays in a similar way to the Adventure Tour of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for the DS, which this game is a sequel to. It involves Mario, Sonic and Cloud, alongside a non-playable Toad, traveling through the Spirit Towns, interacting with characters and doing special missions related to both Olympic and Dream Events. Doing missions nets you crystals that are used to break walls of Jenova constructs that keep you from progressing.You can switch between Mario, Sonic and Cloud at any time: Mario's field ability is going into pipes and use power ups, Sonic can use his spin dash and homing attack to create pathways and knock down bridges, and Cloud can use his Buster Sword to break crates and cut chains. Some character events can only be played as Mario or as Sonic or as Cloud, for instance Luigi only wants to compete with Mario, Tails only with Sonic, and Tifa only with Cloud.
Some missions allow you to beat certain characters in events, causing them to join your party and become playable in missions (aside from missions which are locked to specific characters). Each character has a special challenge minigame, most of which are based on Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for the DS.
Bosses are of two types: some are played out like normal events (with special conditions) where you have to beat the boss, while some others, called Special Bosses (such as the transformed forms of the Snow Spirits and the final boss Jenova BOWMAN) are fought like platformeaction battles involving you switching between Mario (using his ground pound and fireballs), Sonic (using his spindash and homing attacks) and Cloud (using the buster sword). Bosses can be refought, including special bosses. Most minibosses, AKA event bosses that don't conclude a world, are unlocked in most modes by beating them during the story (though they're never playable in the story itself), while main bosses and special bosses are never playable.

 | Building my first parts guitar inspirede to take on another fun little project. It started it's life as a Kustom Kasino, and it was my very first guitar circa 1995. It had taken a lot of abuse over the years, and had absolutely no monetary value, so I decided I wanted to turn it into something unique. Sanded it all the way down, finding that the body is about 80% plywood and 20% Bondo. Hand-chiseled a neck pickup cavity, painted it with some white Krylon spray paint I found in the garage, and finished it with the leftover lacquer from my Tele project. Drill some holes for wiring (which I stripped from an orphaned power cord). Slapped in a kill switch, a $10 hot rail pickup and an $8 toggle switch from Amazon, and cut down a cheap Tele pickguard to fit. My brother is going to machine an aluminum control/scratch plate for it, and I need to find the tremolo arm and convince myself it's worth purchasing strings for it. It's still a crappy guitar, but at least now it's a uniquely crappy guitar.  | Found in a thrift store for $20. 1970s(?) Kasino possible made by kustom, don't know much about it but and not much info on this model online. Was able to find pick of a 410 version. And a bunch of more high end models by this brand. It sounds pretty good and has 3 amp styles, modes and speaker types on the analog modeling selectors. Going to open it up soon to see what's in it. I’m wondering if y’all can break down the situation for me so I can better understand the different views, cheers!
After reading through y’all’s responses it’s clear that the most passionate people on this topic are anti-kasino for the most part. The negative impacts of this project range to far too many topics for me to list but I found few people to counter them.
I think “responsible” gamblers will go out of their way to gamble so they can make money, or so they would like to think… If you’ve ever played at a kasino and/or looked at the data behind how one functions, then you know the only worth while games to play are card games. This is because the player has control over their actions to make carefully calculated observations and educated choices to succeed in either black Jack or pokerish games (and no I’m not talking about counting cards). Professionals and people who enjoy this will travel to different cities at great lengths just to enjoy this hobby of there’s. Others go for different reasons but in this case I’m referring to card enthusiast who are playing with skill.
I’m genuinely curious in the greater RVA societal complex on the ethics of what I am about to say. How would y’all feel about opening a kasino that only has poker and black Jack as well as some other tactical card games. Do you think this concept would work with a smaller yet attractive location to appease avid gamblers without it becoming a tempest we have to deal with? Would you support it or would it be totally out of the question? Let me know!

so i've had... one helluva ride in this game. both in game and with actual competitive tourni related politics. despite all the stuff i've had to endure and the highlights of my career... i would charge in like the bull i am and do it all over again when the game first launched. but i've met some people in my time who i think deserve a shout out.
team Gundam Seven Stars: to list them all would already make this an essay long post. but if i could name a few individuals, it would be TMCraze, Sakura and LuckyStar. Sakura for getting me out of my shell to do what i loved the most. coaching tounri game and seeing people individually grow. (Bonus points for learning dom trooper >:) ). TMCraze for allowing me to play for the team in the banned tourni and allowing me to say i have a team to depend on. and Lucky for never treating me like a stranger and always wanting to improve herself.
Extended Warranty (including retired members): i remember the first scrim against you guys with an old team like it was yesterday. how you've all grown significantly since that scrim when i coached you guys afterwards. you went from dead last in the CIL (tourni name. crosshair invitational league. it went corrupt now so it's not worth much), all the way to second place in season 1. you guys still remember the old team name of sotoras 2 before they name changed?? "we got 0-2'd by a bunch of people having no business 0-2'ing us". never forget that all of you. i mean it.
Rizzards: despite political drama of which i wont get into here, there's still some i at least find decent. Cobaltick and NosferDemon. the VERY FIRST OG group i've had. just 3 stacking ranked in S1 and getting everyone to plat and maybe even diamond. (except for demon, guntank players cant get diamond lmao). UltraKardas for not wanting me to leave gevo because of what happened with me in CIL and the aftermath. and finally Dizzy, aka TurnGayGundussy. with all that's happened with our interactions and discord drama... ur the only person to make me indecisive of whether to be fine or defensive around. but even aside from that we need to play against each other in a game where we're both dom trooper. i did it for Turn A and susan. only fair boi >:)
and now onto individuals.
LeCrum: LeCrum is always a good person you can fall back on when shit gets messy in the game and out of it. we've had our disputes but he's the first and only person to ever apologies to me when something wasnt my fault. makes me think that i dont need to be defensive around everyone all the time.
Texan Crab: we never did get to have the mine fight in CIL did we?? i remember when we first talked to one another in gab's stream and i wasnt impressed with your opinion on "what's good". adding on top with what i saw from you in CIL at the start didnt give me high hopes of one of the things i love. a good fight. yet after learning just a few tips and tricks with dom trooper from me, you can keep up with my dom trooper when you really want to. and not even any ranked coaching lessons either. impressive.
Bit_Man071: you're a little shit you know that?? both on discord and in the game with your rat suits. you're one of the few people who i can be around and just know i can have a fun and goofy time with. and i'm still calling ping diff on that kill. u know which one. I HAD YOU AND PING SAVED YOU!!!
Delta_Pilot: i remember when i first asked you to be apart of the team that would've been called rizzards if it wasnt for [REDACTED], i knew i could always count on you through and through. game, social doesnt matter. when you dropped the truth bomb on the team back with what would've been called rizzards, i had to make a hard call of whether to keep you or not due to your condition causing some altercations. but i'm glad i gave you the shot when playing for and with me, to only be on melee suits. i'm glad i made the right call all that time ago. and you repaid me with nothing but kindness and compassion. when you hardly get that from others, it means a lot more. ur the only member from my former team that i think better of. depends who you ask specifically is what opinion i give to you on them. some cant, few very little worse of and others worst. but you delta... ur the only real "team mate" i've ever known.
merl61: the only omni member (best team in the entire game) that i view highly of. skill is skill, that doesnt mean much to me. what i value is what makes someone a good person. i want to give you a thank you for helping me just barely surviving in NT lobbies to killing and climbing solidly in NT lobbies. and you didnt even give to much specific advice with dom trooper but more so general advice of "just G-dash more in fights". and after going through coaching from hawklight and you, i came to realise there was no one way to play dom trooper. i came to understand what styles the best players have and how they make great use of it. hawklight is no guts no glory. you are far more patient with you engagements. lystic is SUCH a supportive dom trooper. i would've loved to learn how kasino plays but one game on buried shitty isnt enough lol. but thanks to you, i learnt to develop my own tech with the mines. thank you, for helping me find my style.
13HeadHunter37: the only JP player i know who can speak english. you're a demon on dynames. only you could make content where you only play with the pistols and that's it in NT lobbies. i just wish that if you saw me on the enemy team, you would actually play seriously. only way to climb higher. defeating similar skilled players in a ranked environment. but on a personal note, fuck you for not liking dom trooper, how dare you. should be cancelled on twitch. >:)
Dominus_76 this guy with dom trooper absolutely shreds. i cant ever get close to him when he's anchored a place down with his mines. i'm well aware they beep but he's somehow found the off switch for that. and even in fist fights, he's still throwing mines in between rockets with deadly accuracy. i've never been so afraid of pancakes in my life. but when it comes to coaching, you make learning dom trooper fun and not a chore. man, he is THE dom trooper playepreacher. as he likes to say, GLORY TO DOM! (i'm sorry, i couldnt resist doing one of many of my trolls)
there are MANY more people who i could've mentioned but these were the ones that stuck out for me. i've been making a gevo send off vid where i showcase my thoughts about the game/industry, my origins of how i picked up dom trooper, talking about my highest of highs in the game and to send it off, a send off montage vid. i need to do some final tweaks and then i'll upload soon.
