2024.05.16 05:59 Fun-Entertainer-2991 Hogwarts Legacy 2: Chapter 1

The following is my ideal start to the sequel. I apologize in advance for the parentheses.
The MC is awakened by a knock at the door.
Either Amit, Poppy, or Gareth (depending on the MC's house) enter the room, saying something along the lines of
"Sorry, I didn't wake you did I?"
We discover that the MC has been staying at one of the above characters' houses for Summer Break, due to the MC being an orphan (set up MC backstory).
The MC and other character go downstairs for breakfast with the other character's family. (A lot of this takes inspiration from Harry's time at the Burrow) An owl arrives with a letter for school supplies.
It is decided that they will all go to Diagon Alley the next day. However, first things first- house chores!
Depending on the house of the MC, the chores will vary. I even imagine de-gnoming could be a possibility if with the Weasleys.
After completion of the chores, the player is given the option to explore the house and yard before ending the day. The next morning the player and family go to Diagon Alley via Flu Powder. The player is free to explore Diagon Alley, including Gringotts, where they may set up an account. There will also be an option to buy a broom and/or a wand, each with varying potentials (speed, power, etc.) However, the funds will be limited, so choices will have to be made. There will be some unique products available for purchase in Diagon Alley, which the player may have a second chance to buy during the Winter break, when they will have the option to stay at the Leaky Cauldron or at an empty Hogwarts, each with their own possible benefit.
Upon returning to the house from Diagon Alley, a bit of fun begins.
Depending on which house the MC is staying at, this bit will differ.
If staying with the Weasleys, MC will play a 2-on-2 quidditch game (with just a quaffle, I believe)
If staying with Amit, perhaps a flight to a nearby hill for some star gazing.
If staying with Poppy...maybe like following unicorn tracks, ending in a unicorn ride through the woods??
Alas, thus the fun ends and it is time to prepare for the next day's journey to Hogwarts.
(It would be cool if each family had a different way to get to Kings Cross- broom flight, portkey, floo powder? This could also be a quest in itself)
The MC walks through platform 9 3/4 and gets the opportunity to wander around briefly, before the train whistle and a voice warns of its nearing departure.
The MC, along with the other character, boards the Hogwarts Express. After checking around various compartments and perhaps getting refused by some antagonizing students, the MC finds an open compartment to sit in. After a brief conversation and perhaps some new character introductions, the MC gets the chance to buy some things from the trolley and can wonder around the train. There could be some sort of quest (finding a student's lost belonging? Stopping some older students from bullying anxious first years?) before the train begins its approach to Hogsmeade Station (Ideally the player could control how long or short the train ride lasts).
The students exit the train and the camera might show a mysterious hooded figure watching from a bench on the other platform. We might get a cut scene of the carriages trek to the school (and in said process, we might see/hear a glimpse of something worrisome through the trees.) We enter the great hall for the sorting ceremony. We watch the ceremony and notice something unusual with one of the students (perhaps something sinister even--random thought, what if the student were actually a powerful dark wizard who had used the polyjuice potion to take on the appearance of a student in order to infiltrate Hogwarts), like the hat announcing the student's house before the student even sits down (eg. Draco). This student may or may not be a potential antagonist.
We get the chance to converse with just about all of our housemates, with more lengthy conversations with students in our own year. (Along with the train ride, this is an opportunity for relationship building) We also get to eat the variety of foods that have appeared on the table. We then get some school announcements from the headmaster, including but not limited to the try out dates for Quidditch. After the announcements, the feast is brought to a close, and house prefects guide the first years to their respective houses (and in this process, the MC might catch the unusual first year looking at them as they exit the Hall).
The MC then heads to their common room along with the other students. The player gets to explore the common room and interact with it magically (lighting fireplace, accio-ing books etc.), maybe eventually getting scolded by some older students, a ghost or a prefect. Also, the bulletin board lists some possible quests to be done on a later date. There are also NPCs with whom the MC can play exploding snap and wizards chess with in the common room. (Gobstones would be available to play outside)
The player is free to stay in the common room, but with all of the other students eventually heading up to their rooms, the player will naturally wish to do so as well. Upon going up to the bedroom, they will join in on a brief conversation with their roommates about the next day's classes etc. Then, the player will get to sleep in their bed, to get some rest before the start of a new school year.

2024.05.16 05:53 EducationPlus505 How do I interview with my friend?

A few weeks ago, my friend let me know that the place she works was hiring. It's a nonprofit, and the position is basically administrative in nature. I don't have a lot of experience managing programs and handling funding for things, which I told my friend. But I do like the overall mission of the place, so I told her I'd throw my hat into the ring when the job opened up. Somehow, I got an invitation to interview and I'm trying to nail down the details for that. My friend texted me to say that she was happy I got called in and mentioned that she'll be part of the panel.
On the one hand, I think that's going to be helpful in keeping me less nervous, if only because it won't be a bunch of strangers. On the other, she already knows what misgivings I have about the job because it doesn't quite align with what I've done before.
How do I handle this situation? We had a call scheduled next week for ostensibly social reasons but she did say we should discuss this thing. I feel like it would be gauche to ask her to tell me all the questions they're preparing. But at the same time, I do want to do well on the interview and get the job (I kinda need the money lol). Should I even talk to her about the interview? idk, I'm all ears for any tips.

2024.05.16 05:51 Fast_Distribution531 My (21 F) (ex)boyfriend (22 M) just broke up with me, how do I stop hoping he’ll want to get back together?

TLDR: My boyfriend just broke up with me out of nowhere and I just want to get over him but I don’t know how
I was with my boyfriend for a year and a half and he ended things with me on Sunday.
At the start things were magical. I was the happiest I’d ever been and I think he was too.
I fell into a deep depression around July last year (whatever you do don’t go on the rod it will ruin your life) and I became a shell of myself. I got really really insecure about a lot of things but especially my relationship. I was terrified he would stop loving me and leave me.
In September I had a massive breakdown and we almost broke up but we decided to stay together. Things did get a bit better in that I started to feel better mentally but I never really felt right.
I would still worry so much about him leaving me. I was so anxious all the time I could barely function.
He spent Christmas with me and my family and then we went away for almost a month in January. I thought things would be getting better.
I just couldn’t shake the insecurity I had though and I started to resent the way he made me feel. I would daydream about breaking up with him just to hurt him or some how getting hurt or sick so he would worry about me.
He wasn’t perfect. I know that. But I did love him. He sometimes wasn’t very nice and would hurt my feelings and make me think that I was just being sensitive.
Things had been quite off since Easter. I was in more of a funk than I had been in quite a while and it felt like my entire life was just so empty and futile.
I didn’t see him a lot during this because this time of year is very busy at his work and I just put everything up to me not feeling great mentally and him being stressed and busy.
My 21st birthday was at the end of April and I was absolutely dreading it.
He took two days off to spend it with me on my birthday and I was so happy to be able to see him and things were so fine and he was the most beautiful Facebook post for me and I remembered why I loved him so much.
My party was on the Saturday of that week and again he came and spent the afternoon with me and looked after me while I was violently hungover on Sunday. We had been talking for so long about moving into together and we had another conversation about it on Sunday. Everything again seemed to be fine.
I started an antidepressant on Monday in an attempt to pull myself together and help control my anxiety. I was pretty sick this first week as I heard can be expected when starting this medication.
The next Saturday he invited me out to a family friend’s bonfire. He was so mean to me this night. He didn’t really talk to me and he didn’t sit near me. I was sort of left to try and talk to his mom.
We got home that night and he laid on his phone before saying goodnight and going to sleep. This was not very usual for us. We would usually cuddle and talk or have sex, just spend time together in bed. I was left feeling so confused and worried. I didn’t know what I had done.
The next day I was understandably a little demure as I continued to worry about what I had done to upset him. And he made a point to keep asking me if I had had a good night. Which I had not. Because of him. I didn’t say this.
I cried the entire hour long drive home. I thought I was just reacting badly to my medication.
The next week I started to feel better with my medication and my spirits started lifting. We still didn’t really text a lot during the day but I was able to recognise that he was probably just busy and he wasn’t going to leave me at the drop of a hat.
On Saturday we had plans to go out with his friends for dinner. He asked me to come over that day, he was going to take the day off the spend with me.
When I got there he was acting so weird again. Being cold and antisocial and quite short with me. I just figured he was stressed or something and he eventually warmed up a little by dinner.
But when we got home the same thing happened again and he completely froze me out and went to sleep immediately. I was so worried I didn’t sleep.
The next morning we had breakfast with his mom and she showed me his baby album. Things were fine.
When I got home I decided to text him and just ask if everything was okay or if I was just imagining things to be a bit off and he responded with no things are not alright I’ll phone you later.
A delightful message to receive.
He then drove all the way to my house and preceded to tell me that he just didn’t care about me when we were apart. He said he wanted to break up with me since SEPTEMBER when we last had this conversation. And he felt like staying with me would be settling.
But he said he still wanted to see me and be friends with me and he didn’t want to lose me. Upon my asking what being friends would look like he explained that we would still do pretty much everything we always have done just not have sex anymore.
He was here for over three hours and probably cried more than I did.
Now i am heartbroken. I can’t believe that I will never see him or his friends and his family every again. I just don’t know what to do with my self. I wasted over a year of my life with him and he said he didn’t love me for almost half of it
But I’m also relieved. I don’t have to worry about him judging me or leaving me. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my chest. I want to hate him but I can’t. I can see now that our relationship was probably over for a while now or at the very least I haven’t been happy with it for a while but I am still so sad.
I am worried he will want to get back together again but I am also so worried that he won’t. I just don’t know how to stop thinking about it. I want it so bad but I also don’t know if I can do it again.
I miss him so much, he was my person for so long and I just don’t know how to get over it.
I can’t stop thinking about all of the plans we had made all of the this was so looking forward to doing with him.
I just want to get into a new relationship not because I really need one, I have my fried and my family, I feel less alone now than I did with him. But it was so nice having a person. (I do recognise that it is waaaay too early to be thinking about getting into any sort of new relationship)
The thought that I will have to date again kills me too. Boy are so foul and mean and how do you even meet people outside of dating apps.
But I also don’t ever want to have to trust a boy again because it will just end the same way again I’m just not good enough.
Anyway, I’m so sorry for all of that but yeah how do I get over this and stop thinking about him?

2024.05.16 05:11 Character_Morning_32 Problem is the party never ends

Morning all (or afternoon, evening, take your pick), I've been a problem substance abuser for twenty three years now, starting at 16. Luckily nothing too heavy, initially weed, I was never a gifted smoker and could never hold down a job, looked like shit and didn't care, slept all day and all night, tons of debt, shitty friends, missed out on hundreds, maybe thousands of amazing experiences because I wanted to stay home and get high. In 2008 I broke out of that, got a job in teaching and have been essentially a functioning alcoholic ever since. It's like my whole life I've always just been bad at being clear headed and straight, never content to just sit there without something getting me wrecked. Teaching is full of drinkers, I love rock, punk, metal, clubs, festivals, all full of drinkers. I am currently travelling around various spots in Asia (Vietnam - Malaysia - Japan - Thailand - currently Taiwan), working online and living the dream. Full of drinkers. I have also been a liability on a number of occasions. Drinking until 4am, blacking out, waking up somewhere where I don't know where I am. I dont piss myself but I do lose a lot of hats and cigarettes. Last Saturday morning I woke up on a bench, made it about 200m down the street then passed out on another bench, threw up under it then finally got my shit together and stumbled home. This was at about 7am in a big city in Taiwan. Families, kids going to Saturday school, elderly people exercising, everyone going about their day. And me, a 6ft3in white male barfing and sleeping in the middle of a park next to a busy subway station. It's fucking pathetic and I hate myself for it. I'm too old and too tired and my body is too beaten up to keep on doing this. But, booze is everywhere, and no matter how bad it gets I always convince myself of the same old cycle - quit completely for a little while - pat myself on the back for being a good boy - convince myself I can drink in moderation - drink in moderation for a little while - get a true taste for it - lose a whole weekend and wake up Monday feeling like hell - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, sober and working but filled with existential dread and suicidal ideation. I'm going back to the UK in a few weeks. Even if I manage to quit for a while here, when I'm back home I will be surrounded at all time by fellow drinkers, heavy drinkers, and various sniffables and smokables and the ten months I've spent getting my head together, avoiding everything other than booze, will all go out of the window and I'll be waking up at 6am on Monday for work after 4 hours sleep all weekend with a nose clogged with blood and regret and that specific kind of headache that only valium and more booze can come close to shifting. It's fucking depressing knowing this is how weak I am. Anyway, no real point or request, just haven't put this into words for anyone else to read. I've written loads in my diary but I'm already anxious that if I die suddenly and my mother reads it she will then also die, but of secondhand shame. I'm not particularly addicted to alcohol, I only drink beer and occasionally shots, I can go days and sometimes weeks without really missing it, if the time and place is right. I'm addicted to parties and late nights and chatting shit and singing and dancing. Which is a shame because they all lose some of their appeal when you're on the soft drinks. I mean, they don't, it's all about perception. How do you cope, those that have broken free? What're your stories? I feel like this cycle is similar for everyone that knows they have a problem. Thank you for reading x

2024.05.16 05:04 Every_Water9596 I’m..I think I’m at my wits end

Im just about done. I can’t hardly put it into words so I’ll try my best here. To put it short..I’m tired beyond belief. There’s so many moving parts going on with my life: school full time, working full time, maintaining a relationship with my girlfriend, mending relationships within family while also trying to make sure everyone is okay, public speaking at events for foster youths (#Token), and also still grieving from losing both my mother and grandmother two years ago in the same year. I’m fully aware we all have our problems and at times need a hard hat to weather through it, but no one understands how difficult it is for me. I can’t whine and complain or I’ll be labeled as being rude and not understanding. I can’t cry or I’ll be labeled as being too emotional. I can’t silence myself and be distance to protect my peace or I’m I’ll be labeled as moody. Like, I’m in therapy and have been for months, trying to do the work which helps but it doesn’t seem to work. I got a new job that pays well but I’m going through training and don’t get paid for another two weeks which is okay but f*ck I’m broke and it’s uncomfortable! Usually I have a plan to help navigate and mask my emotions in the meantime but every time I come back from my lows I feel heavier and heavier. It’s exhausting and I’m exhausted. It’s gotten to the point where I’m beginning to plan for suicide… I know I won’t resort to that because there are people that depend on me, but I’m just about done…I try to be the kindest I can be to everyone because I came from the ghetto lifestyle of Compton where you’d get smacked for looking at someone the wrong way. Beaten by family , and foster parents for being too “soft”. I know what it feels like to be a nuisance, to be ostracized, to be treated horribly, and so I put some much effort into making sure others don’t feel that way. It’s a lot of pressure but at a point I became a product of my environment and was not a good person. That is who I never want to be again, but I’m tired. Just tired of faking a smile, being disrespected, and not heard..idk I don’t want pity but just advice, please?

Invited last minute - help with accessories please!
Dress code: “Garden Attire: Wear sundresses, floral prints, suits in lighter hues, and fun hats and fascinators.”
Sorry for the messy untucked pic, I took this at the tailors right as I dropped off my dad’s suit and shirt to be altered to fit me. They’re letting the pants out, taking the shirt in, and shortening the jacket sleeves.
I don’t really know how to do formal wear. I’m trans masculine and haven’t had to dress formal or even business casual since before I transitioned so I don’t know shit about men’s formal wear.
My close friend is a groomsman and invited me to be his +1. I’ve never met the brides (lesbian wedding).
I know I need dress shoes, a belt, and a tie. I feel like a brown belt and shoes would be a safe bet with this suit but I don’t see myself wearing brown shoes very often. Would black shoes work with this suit? My other idea is to get some shoes in a fun color (maybe plum?) that could work both with this suit and my more usual black and bright colored khakis. I’m somewhat limited as I need shoes made for teen boys as I have women’s sized feet but I don’t want women’s shoes.
My friend who invited me wants to lend me a bolo tie.
Any other ideas for fun accessories I can use to jazz this up? I feel like I may be rather subdued and plain compared to others with this dress code, especially at a queer wedding.

2024.05.16 04:52 Commercial_Swim2906 Compromised Skin Barrier with a Complicated (But Once Happy) Complexion - Please Help!

CAUTION: LONG!
So this has happened to me once before (over a decade ago) and the whole ordeal seriously left me with PTSD. Back then, a vitamin recommended to me by a physio to treat a pinched nerve broke out what was great skin so I made the mistake of throwing all kinds of things at the issue. I learned my lesson and have kept a gentle, simple, natural routine ever since. My skin has been lovely, calm and clear as a result - even downright glowy and dewy.
Ironically, it was an oil for a recent ear infection (when antibiotics failed) which dribbled onto my skin that I believe must've done this. First, it gave me clogs which I only massaged a bit of jojoba oil into and I exfoliated twice in, oh gee, two weeks rather than my usual 4-6 weeks because, twice-over, I noticed some skin peeling in the area where the oil would land (I would wipe it and/or wash it off, but would awaken to find more had come out and onto my temporary (used a different one while this was going on) pillow so my skin was resting against that stuff for hours). I haven't taken an antibiotic for 9 or 10 years prior to this. Indeed, I always get a little stinging blotch by my right eye, on-off, for awhile after taking them and this time was no different. I'm wondering if they even messed with my skin's microbiota, contributing to this some and for what?! They didn't even cure the infection (which I thought could be viral since it lead on from a cold)! I understand there are barrier creams which contain probiotics/prebiotics and these interest me.
For said exfoliation, I always use ground oats mixed with a hydrosol or spring water which I then gently massage over my skin. This is what I have done for years and which a Garden of Wisdom skin consultant who worked with me back during the first round of an impaired skin barrier, okayed. I usually only do this every 4-6 weeks - sometimes going for longer, I'm just not a strong believer in exfoliating the skin on the face often, ironically.
So, last week, after the second exfoliation followed by my usual (gentle!) skin routine, my face flipped out within hours. I use no acids, no other actives, no alcohol-containing products or harsh, stripping cleansers. Hell, I don't even use masks anymore! I wear no makeup and my sunscreen for my face is a solid 50 SPF hat and a little raspberry seed oil.
I have sensitive skin - mostly normal - but it can be prone to clogs when it comes to heavier stuff. Last time my barrier got nuked, I was recommended a moisturizer with beeswax and I knew better than to use it but was desperate. I then paid with 60 clogged pores all over my face and neck which led to a summer of broken out skin while the mess purged. Since entering perimenopause (I'm 46), I've had perioral dermatitis rashes which I've learned to control and heal up, wholistically, within a day or two (they're also usually pretty mild). But, I know many of you are going to suggest I slather Vaseline or diaper cream on my face but with PD (which I'm more vulnerable to now with my messed up barrier), you can't use anything too occlusive and, frankly, I clog up and break out when it comes to heavy creams and ointments. Heck, even light ones can break me out which is why a combo of oil ( SIBU Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil)+ Avene Thermale Water spray +Caudalie Grape Water + hydrosol (helichrysum or frankincense) has worked so well for me for many, many years now.
My hydrosols sting and sometimes also the pure aloe vera gel I've cleansed my skin with for ages - even plain water does. My favorite faciil oil seems to be doing didley-squat to help this. I'm still using Avene and Caudalie (also has prebiotics) sprays because they mostly soothe it for a little bit. Do I just keep pushing on through the stinging (because most everything friggin' does!)?
Before and in being an herbalist, I made certain herbal concoctions and they were a huge saving grace then but now - they either soothe me or, alternatively and oddly, make my skin itch in my lower cheeks. I hadn't needed to be on one for 9 or 10 years prior to this. Indeed, I always get a little blotch by my right eye on-off for awhile after taking them.
Right now, I'm using products from Garden of Wisdom's soothing line plus their ceramides serum, but I just don''t know if they're helping or hurting. It's only been a week since I started that routine and they really seemed to soothe me for a couple of days but now, I think a couple items could be irritating me - not sure. They were suggested to me by their rep (who also suggested I use a product with tea tree and oregano oils for the zits I'm getting with this ordeal! Hell to the no! She also didn't steer me in the direction of their ceramides serum which some reviewers say healed their barriers, or another barrier-healing serum which I was considering, but I got another she suggested instead which I find sticky and possibly irritating).
I have an excellent whole foods diet, take certain skin-supportive nutrients (and have for years) and try and drink plenty of water every day. To make things even more complicated, I'm having hormonal night sweats which are, no, doubt, not helping this due to the loss of fluid. If I leave sweat on my face, I break out and here I'm trying to keep my face cleansing to one to two times a day (using just lukewarm water in the day, aloe vera gel or, occasionally the GoW cleanser at night). Normally, I go and give my face a quick rinse when this happens, but normally my moisture barrier isn't disrupted! I'm newly onto a wild yam cream which was a life-saver for me in my 20s so we will see how it works now.
I am open to not-so-natural things just to get this healed, but I'm not open to stuff that's just gonna leave me with other problems like multiple clogs, zits and PD flare-ups. I'm hearing just a simple, gentle cleanser (am highly allergic to sulfates! I also cannot do denatured and other drying alcohols!) and a good barrier cream might heal the compromised barrier in 2-12 weeks (and I'm already at 4, having had a few setbacks, unfortunately). Last time, it took far, far, far, FAR longer and my skin was reactive for quite some time afterward. I just don't have the patience for that, or the emotional/mental stamina to cope with it taking that long again. I'm really going to miss my hydrosols for however long this is going to take. Last time, helichyrsum soothed me so what the hell with this time?!
This ordeal has me in a lot of pain, distress and I'm mucho depressed as this is the 'straw that broke the camel's back' when it comes to my life at present. Frankly, my whole head is a mess at this point: chronic eye and ear issues (have ETD now since the infection now), the return of migraines after several years without, three lost dental fillings in the space of a few months and now my facial skin health is screwed!
With me, it's different because it's not like I need to pare things back since I normally have such a simple, gentle routine anyway. It's more like I still need a simple routine, but with certain added healing and soothing factors which are going to help, and get, my skin to recover, a.s.a.p. I've also thought of just using water to cleanse my skin with and spritzing with just some Avene - nothing else - and seeing how that goes for a couple of weeks. But I worry how my skin might feel in the process.
Thank you so much for any advice.

2024.05.16 04:35 New_Carpenter4051 I can’t tell who breadcrumbed who

So my ex and I (23f, 25f) broke up a little over 3 months ago. It was really brutal, I was blindsided, but at the same time I hurt her quite a bit as well. We were really toxic towards the end and I genuinely think this was for the best.
Like an hour and a half after we have the breakup conversation, Im at home trying to process things and she texts me a picture of her mom’s dog wearing a kansas city chiefs shirt and says “I fear you would have left me over this anyways” (Context for anyone who doesn’t care about sports, I just straight up don’t like the Chiefs and they were playing in the super bowl again that weekend). I didn’t respond at all and just felt really hurt, we broke up under strange circumstances and I was left feeling like she just didn’t like me and I was resigned to the fact that she didn’t respect me anymore, so getting a joke text within 2 hours of breaking up hurt a lot tbh. Like what was I supposed to say?
Fast forward two days, I didn’t respond to her dumb joke and she texts me at like midnight saying “Im sorry, I’ll learn forgiveness, you were my best friend and I hope we can be friends again” and then says a bunch more stuff the next morning like “We should talk soon”, “nobody understands me like you, I just want to speak with you about this and nobody else but we can’t and it sucks”. My sister and my friends told me to block her but I held strong for some reason. I just couldn’t let go.
Then a few MORE days later I decided to respond with no words, I send her the laundry/taxes meme from Everything Everywhere All at Once, partly because it was sentimental and we did have a really special relationship at one point, and also because lowkey the last thing I dropped off for her was her W-2 and her laundry. She responds saying we should talk soon, and says all kinds of stuff like “I miss you lots”, “Maybe we just need time to be our own people”, “Im still wearing the ring you gave me” (context: It wasn’t a promise ring or engagement ring or anything, just was one of the first birthday presents I ever got her and was one of the first gifts I ever bought someone where I spent real real money on, so it at least meant SOMETHING to us), and a whole bunch of other sentimental stuff, concluding with “Im here whenever you’re ready to speak.” These messages all really hurt me and multiple ppl told me to block her but once again, I just couldn’t bring myself to.
Now, a few more days go by and she texts me about a performance one of our mutual friends’ invited us to. She asked if I was gonna go and said if I was then she would back out. This just bothered me SO MUCH, not only had I forgotten all about this performance and had zero intention of going given the state I was in, but it was just a question that NEEDED an answer, I couldn’t just leave her on read again, right? I responded and kinda showed too much of my feelings and how hurt I was, and we spoke a bit over text. She admitted she handled our breakup inappropriately and also said that marriage was still a possibility for us (Mind you, in our final argument as a couple she pointed at me and goes “Does this even look like marriage material?” which I still think about to this day). It was….jarring. I pretty much clung on to that hope. Then at the end she completely switched her stance and said SHE needed time and that she would let ME know when she was ready for a conversation, saying she needed two weeks.
Fast forward a few weeks, we had been in contact only to exchange our belongings, but she blocked me after I told her she could leave one of my hats in the mailbox if she didnt want to see me. So I message her dad a week later in order to get my things back and get that all sorted. However, one of my friends informed me that she was speaking to a boy in one of her psych courses who had been hitting on her. This kinda sent me down the rabbit hole and I message her dad again asking for some of my stuff back. Mind you, Im still blocked at this point so if I wanted it back, I had to go through him. The thing she still had of mine was my nice pillow which i had given to her to take to her dorm, and even a few days after the breakup she had said stuff like “Im still sleeping on the pillow you gave me” so at this rate I just wanted it back. Her dad immediately assumed I had blocked her and he tried to speak to me like I was his kid and I told him “your daughter is the one who blocked me” and he got really embarrassed. I get unblocked and get my pillow back bc I dont know how youre still sleeping on it while speaking to the first dude that hits on you (Mind you this girl swore she was a lesbian and was always worried I would cheat with a boy). I get the pillow back, she compliments my hair bc I had gotten it done, and we go on our separate ways.
Now, I messaged her a couple more times because I kept finding stuff of hers at my place. Id dropped some of it off at her dad’s place bc he lives in town. Fast forward to my birthday exactly 2 months after we breakup, she texts me at 9pm saying “Happy birthday” and nothing else. Wtf. I didn’t reply and I actually was super lonely on my bday so she was the last person I wanted to hear from.
I think I made the mistake of trying to bring one of her things to her a week later because I was visiting a friend who lived by her campus. This is where I feel she thinks I might be the one trying to drop breadcrumbs. It was super awkward, i just handed her her stuff and she said something completely inaudible but sounded like “take care” or something along those lines. And NOW is where I make the ultimate mistake of asking why that was weird once she got back into her building. She was basically like “im still healing, don’t message me unless theres stuff of mine thatyou have. I dont want to speak to you for a very long time if not ever”. So in 2 months I go from “im here whenever youre ready” to “dont speak to me ever”.
I told her that I am still healing too and dont even want to have a conversation yet, and I make the mistake of asking why she bothered telling me happy birthday if thats how she feels. The response i got from her was “I did it because it would have felt bad not saying anything, I wont say it again next year”. I got blocked permanently a few messages later.
So basically, just go no contact and stick to it. I should have taken my friends advice and blocked her a long time ago, and because I didnt I got my hopes up and got hurt again. Apologies for the long post, but seriously sometimes people just say things because they are emotional and not because they mean them. I held out for hope for way too long.
Apologies for the long ass post

2024.05.16 04:24 Masta-Blasta OVO's Summer European Yacht Trip '22

I think in 6:16 in LA, Kendrick is alluding to the yacht trip Drake took his crew on in the Summer of 22. Kendrick mentions Ibiza, yachts, and a white t shirt. Also interesting, during that trip, Drake went viral for a video where a bee would not leave him alone. In Euphoria, Kendrick says "Shoo, shoo, shoo, Bee, bee, bee, bee, bee, bee."
There are photos of Drake in Ibiza wearing a white button down (w/ white undershirt). He was also mysteriously detained in Stockholm the night before he was photographed in Ibiza. OVO and Drake initially denied all of it, but Drake later confirmed that it happened, but did not offer details. He has since deleted his posts related to the event.
Also, he was with a 20 year old the whole time he was in Ibiza and France, Suede Brooks. Also, 6:16 PM in LA is 3:16 AM in Ibiza- peak party hours. During his time in Ibiza, Drake performed with a South African DJ and producer (who he has worked with), Black Coffee, who has a record of being blackmailed with a sex tape, and was accused by his ex wife of DV. The Court ruled in Black Coffee's favor, but his ex is so adamant on telling her story that she released a mini docuseries about the failure of the South African justice system to protect women.
I'm being a little crazy now, but what if the wine cooler stain on the white t-shirt referenced in 6:16 is referring to another disposed item of Drake's? Maybe a member of the yacht crew was asked to discard of it (due to the stain), but held on to it? I'm wondering if the yacht was, at some point, used to transport women through ports, and perhaps the Swedish authorities were tipped off about their plans, or suspected something and detained Drake and OVO? We don't know every stop they took on that trip or who they met up with. I can't find a timeline anywhere. Just Stockholm Ibiza St. Tropez. Now, if you will put on your tinfoil hats with me, what if Black Coffee is the mole? Maybe, after being successfully blackmailed himself, he decided to do it to Drake? OR... what if the mole is connected to both of them? Idk- that part is a little harebrained.
I am starting to wonder if Kendrick had multiple "EPs" at various hotels and security firms offering him intel. One is EP, with information about the night at The Mark. There's another who was on the yacht trip. My guess is that the yacht mole got paid, but EP did not, because of AK and Drake's bullshit. I think Kendrick got information from several people, and he picked and chose the information that would scare Drake the most. EP probably had the best items, which is why he made it on MTG cover, but this new EP had most juicy information, which is why it's the one getting referenced in the tracks. And that makes sense- you can get away with a lot more on a private yacht than you can in a hotel, particularly sex trafficking. Plus, if the second mole was a crew member, they would have been with OVO all summer. They would have a TON of dirt on the whole crew. Additionally, Drake has a terrible reputation with how he treats service workers. I would not be surprised if, by the end of that trip, the whole crew hated him.
We need to look into that trip extensively.

2024.05.16 03:50 Ultima_8 Bloodborne - Prologue 5 - TW: Blood, Gore

“Beasts all over the shop…You’ll be one of them, sooner or later…”
The strange Hunter turned around and exhaled. His breath was visible against the night’s air.
He’s bloodlusted. Aegis, I hope you have a plan.
Shimmer saw Elpis step back slightly, with a shocked expression on her face. She shakily raised a claw and pointed at something on the ground.
No. It… it can’t be.
That’s… horrible.
A shattered red jeweled necklace lay strewn across the ground, beside the mangled corpse of the Silkwing.
The Hivewing in front of the three swung his axe to the side. As it was a trick weapon, he was able to change its form on command. The axe had two forms: a shortened form that acted sort of like a sword, and an extended form specialized in crowd control and reach.
He extended his axe and Shimmer heard a low snarl from his throat.
“Do we kill him?” Elpis asked, a hint of fear in her voice.
“We don't have a choice. Steel yourself.” Aegis muttered and brandished his silksabers. The blades gleamed in the soft light of the three moons.
The hunter was taller than all of them, one head taller than Aegis and two taller than Shimmer and Elpis. Black tattered robes clung to him, marking him a Shadowhunter. Blood from tonight’s hunt stained the black fabric, showcasing his expertise and experience in the hunt. He wore a rounded dark-gray hat, and bloodied bandages covered his eyes. Shimmer wondered if he could even see.
Corpses of both beasts and dragons were scattered about the square-shaped courtyard, an equal amount of gravestones breaking up the open space. His teeth were uneven as if he had been eating and chewing rough bones. Blood dripped from his mouth down his neck, and his Hivewing stingers flexed in anticipation.
“Be careful,” Aegis started, “He’s going to use magic. Elpis, don’t use any of yours.” He told the hybrid dragon beside him, and she nodded.
The hunter walked slowly around them, searching for a weakness in their structure, and then spat out a lump of coagulated blood.
“That stench of squalid blood. No beast will be spared.” He half-muttered and half-growled. He tipped his hat respectfully, before lunging at Elpis. She dove to the side, and tried to retaliate with her scythe, but just slightly missed.
This hunter was agile, surprisingly so considering how old he looked. Shimmer gripped the handle of her silkhammer, knowing it wasn’t the time to strike. She stepped backward, seeking cover behind a grave, while Aegis leaped forward with the intent to pierce the frenzied hunter’s heart. Once again, the hunter rolled to the side and sent his axe hurtling towards the smaller Silkwing. Shimmer felt fear grip her heart, but Aegis avoided the blade. He fell back and motioned for Elpis to stay back.
“A sporting hunt. But alas, I’ve forgotten to ask your name.” Aegis growled, and the hunter laughed a sick, disturbing laugh.
“The name’s Gascoigne.” He shot back, and jumped into the air, slamming his axe down where Aegis was a split second ago. Shimmer’s ears rung from the sound of the impact. Her antennae subconsciously curled in defensively.
“Gascoigne. That’s a nice name. I’ll tell Ludwig you were a proud hunter till the end.” Aegis replied and sent his twin blades slicing into the hunter’s thigh. He recoiled, and a gleeful laugh escaped his bloodied mouth.
“Hehe… the sweet stench of blood. Just… just marvelous!” He exclaimed and raised his off-talon towards Aegis.
“Aegis! Get down!” Shimmer called, and a burst of flame erupted from the hunter’s claws across the courtyard. The limited magic the Hivewing had that he was willing to use in this hunt.
Aegis fell back, hissing in pain as a few stray flames singed his tail. The hunter chuckled under his breath, and Elpis took advantage of the opening he had presented her. She thrust the blade of her scythe toward him, opting for its sword form as of now, and the hunter knocked the blow aside. He countered with a kick to the Ice-Hivewing’s ribs, and she was sent to the ground. She coughed up a spurt of blue Icewing blood, and the hunter lifted his axe for a finishing blow.
Shimmer roared out and swung her hammer toward the hunter. The silk connected it to her wrists as it flew through the air, and it hit the hunter square in his side just as his axe was falling. He was sent into the opposite side of the courtyard, coughing and sputtering, but with a faint smirk on his face. Shimmer was in disbelief; how was he not dead?
“Ooh, what’s that smell… the sweet blood, ooh, it sings to me! It's enough to make a dragon sick.” Gascoigne laughed hollowly. He raised his talon, and Shimmer quickly rolled to the side as a ball of flame soared past her horns.
He’s going to turn at this rate.
Shimmer hid under a gravestone as a tree behind her erupted in flames, and Aegis jumped into the air. He beat his four wings ferociously before diving into the hunter. He caught both of Aegis’ horns, and he twisted his head. Aegis fell to the ground, and Gascoigne slashed his axe down across the Silkwing’s leg. Aegis cried out, and Shimmer’s heart ached. She pushed herself up, ignoring the raging fire around her, and she threw her hammer up in the air and aimed it towards the hunter. He narrowly evaded the heavy impact of the stone before Shimmer heard a metal clang behind her.
Elpis, scythe in one talon, approached Gascoigne. She had the little music box in her other.
Elpis played the music box and a song of eerie notes filled the courtyard.
The hunter stumbled back, clawing at his face, and Elpis shot Shimmer a look, her face telling her to make sure Aegis was okay.
Elpis advanced on the struggling hunter, and Shimmer leaped over to her Silkwing partner, who was injured on the ground. She felt tears welling in her eyes, but she knew this wasn’t the time to cry.
“Aegis. Look at me. Look at me.” She repeated, and he lifted his head weakly. His leg had a massive gash in it, but he could probably still walk, just with a limp.
“Ah, Shimmer. I’m alright. I’ll be back in the fight. Go, help Elpis. I’ll join back soon enough.” He groaned, and the pair heard a roar behind them.
Elpis was locked in a duel with Gascoigne, and the hunter’s stray fireballs met with blasts of frostbreath. For the first time in the battle, the hunter had a slight look of fear on his face. Elpis was relentless, her burial blade swiftly countering and stopping any attempt Gascoigne made at advancing. Aegis crawled back and attempted to stand, using a grave for support.
“Shimmer! I can’t hold him for long!” Elpis called, and Shimmer nodded. She took the hammer in her claws and swung it around her side, and in a clockwise circle in the air. It was the perfect counterweight to her body weight. She hoisted it up further into the air and then brought it crashing down onto the hunter.
It struck Gascoigne directly on the spine, and he fell to the ground.
He screamed in pain.
And then, a bright light flashed from his body.
His screams deepened in tone, morphing to be more animalistic. His posture fell forward, and his muscles rippled through his body. He grew in size, and more of his bloodied garb ripped from the size change.
Fur sprouted from seemingly random places on the Hivewing’s body, and his claws extended. His face shifted, his features becoming more and more distorted. His black hat fell to the ground.
The bandages around his eyes stayed, as well as the black-tattered garb that marked him as once a Hunter.
He was no longer a Hunter. Moons above, he wasn’t even a dragon anymore.
He was now a beast.
Shimmer’s heart pounded in her chest. She stared at the transformation for a split second, before reeling in her hammer. She took it in her right talon and dove behind a gravestone, wary of the spreading flames.
Elpis, on the other claw, held her blade in front of her. Shimmer heard a rasping cough escape the Ice-HiveWing’s throat, but she didn’t break her stance.
The beast that was once Gascoigne whipped around toward Elpis, and launched himself at her, with a ferocity Shimmer had never seen even in beasts.
Elpis sidestepped quickly. The beast slammed into the wall with a loud roar, and Shimmer spied Aegis in her peripheral vision struggling to stand. He winced as he stood on his injured leg, but didn’t cry out. He brandished his two blades as the beast charged at him.
“Aegis!” Shimmer cried.
He’s going to get hit. That beast will kill him.
Aegis ignored her, and as soon as the beast was within a wingspan from him he twisted his body in such a way that he narrowly avoided the savage charge. He elegantly sliced his twin blades across the beast’s hide, and the creature howled before rapidly turning to face him.
Shimmer flew into the air. “Get away from him!” She yelled before bringing the weight of her hammer down on the beast. It flattened part of his ribcage, but it seemed impervious to the pain. It did knock him to the ground, though, giving Aegis a moment to cut through what was once two of the hunter’s wings.
The beast quickly got back on its claws before sending a flurry of swipes towards Shimmer. She dodged to the side and readied her hammer for another strike.
That was before the beast kicked her square in her chest, its sharp, ravenous claws digging in and tearing her scales. Shimmer fell back, a slight gasp escaping her mouth, and she stumbled back into the wall. She lost her footing and fell to the ground, and gazed up at the beast locked on her.
“Aegis! Help!” She yelled, and not even a second later her Silkwing partner crashed into the beast. They fell to the ground, grappling with each other before Shimmer heard a familiar song fill the courtyard.
Elpis was cranking the music box, its ominous lullaby breaking up the noise of the fight. The beast stopped attacking Aegis and instead clawed at its face. It growled and screamed in pain, drawing blood from its very own fur and scales.
“Now! Kill it!” She yelled through the song, and Aegis nodded before driving his two blades through the beast’s skull.
They stuck, and the beast roared before throwing him off. It crawled and thrashed about on the ground, clearly not dead, and the two new blades stuck to his head pointed out like new horns.
Now’s my chance.
Shimmer stumbled to her claws and wound her hammer up into the air. With every last bit of her strength, she brought it down on the flailing beast.
It crushed what was left of the hunter.
Silence filled the courtyard, only broken by a few stray notes from the music box, the pained breathing of the three hunters in the area, and the howls and screams from other places in the Hive.
Shimmer breathed a sigh of relief, before collapsing.
I did it. We did it.
Gascoigne was free.

“I brought you water.”
Shimmer opened her eyes and found herself in her familiar hospital room.
The morning sun’s rays lit the room, and Shimmer felt very little pain from her chest.
It had been three days since that night.
Shimmer fixed her gaze on the purple-orange Silkwing sitting beside her and smiled.
“Thanks. I’m feeling much better, we should get going to Bloodworm soon. It’s today, remember?” Shimmer asked, and he nodded. Of course, he remembered.
The summons for every hunter to come to Bloodworm Hive. Ludwig, The Holy Blade had requested them all. He no doubt planned an attack. A shame really, the hive was only newly rebuilt. And now it was going to be the site of a horrid, savage warzone.
“I remember. Are you sure you’re feeling okay? Ludwig would understand if you couldn’t come,” Aegis asked, and she spied a hint of worry on his face.
“I’m fine. I need to make sure you don’t do anything stupid. I’ll come.” She sighed and took a sip from the canteen that Aegis had brought. It tasted wonderful, he had put something in to flavor it.
“Honeydew?” She guessed, and Aegis smiled.
“Yep. It’s your favorite, right?” He asked, and she nodded. She opened her arms, and he hugged her tight.
“I love you,” Shimmer whispered in his ear.
“I love you too. I pray to Clearsight that we’ll both be safe today. I can’t bear to lose you.” Aegis replied. He pulled away and gazed out the window.
Shimmer quickly drank the rest of the honeydew-flavored water before getting out of bed. She joined him at the window and was slightly surprised by what she saw.
Almost all of the hunters of Jewel Hive were preparing, some of them already flying in the direction of Bloodworm. They were all sharpening their trick weapons, mixing poisons, or saying goodbye to loved ones.
“We should get going. It’ll be midmorning when we get there, I don’t want to be late.” Shimmer suggested, and Aegis put a wing around her.
“Now? I need to get my stuff, and you do too. Join me at the workshop.” He asked, and she slid her head in the curve of his neck as he led her out of her sick room.

Shimmer beat her wings strong and fast against the morning savanna winds.
She saw what looked to be several hundred, maybe even a thousand dragons gathered around a hill. All of them had a colored garb fluttering proudly from their neck. Around ninety percent of the garbs were white, and the rest were black.
They were all different tribes and a fair amount of hybrids were scattered about as well. The gathered hunters were mostly Pantalan, but a good few were from Pyrrhia as well.
Shimmer and Aegis landed a short distance away from the hill, and all around them the sounds of dragons conversing and laughing with each other.
The sun was high in the sky, but it wasn’t quite noon yet.
“You see anyone you recognize?” Aegis asked, and Shimmer shook her head.
“There’s too many dragons here. It’s too much.” She whimpered, and Aegis pulled her close. He knew she didn’t do well in crowds. That was partly why she became a Shadowhunter. To work alone or with no more than a few other dragons.
“You’re safe with me.” He comforted her, and she leaned against him.
She had always hated being with a lot of other dragons. Aegis said it sounded like she had anxiety, which made sense. It didn’t do much to alleviate that fear, though.
None of them are thinking about you. They’re all busy with their own stuff.
Just take deep breaths.
“Do you want to move away? There’s fewer dragons over there,” He asked and pointed a claw across from them.
“…No, no I’m fine.” She whispered, and Aegis sighed.
“Alright. If you want to move, don’t be afraid to ask. I don’t mind it.”
Shimmer shook her head quickly, before the pair heard a loud voice from the top of the hill. They both looked up and saw the legendary hunter himself: Ludwig.
The menacing Nightwing stood proudly, his holy silver sword slung across his shoulder. His partner Memoria stood beside him, her tail twined around his. She had a bored look on her face as she stared at the crowd. The voices of the dragons fell silent, and Shimmer felt like she could breathe again.
The Nightwing’s loud voice echoed through the plain. “Dear Hunters.” He paused, his heroic voice inspiring pride and triumph in Shimmer, even though he had barely started.
“I’m sure all of you know why we’re here. Behind me, Bloodworm Hive stands proud against the horizon. Yet I am more than certain you all know what lies inside.” He paused and pointed his sword toward the dark shape of the Hive.
“Beasts. A few thousand. I think it’s time we put them out of their misery. That is why we are here. A battle of the ages, one that will go down in history. We, the brave heroes, fighting against evil. We will be reveled, we will be honored. We will protect the dragons we hold dear to our hearts, and save those we can yet save.” His speech roused the crowd, and Shimmer felt herself stand a little taller.
“The plan is simple. The Hunters of the Sun will lead the charge from the front. I have already talked to the leaders of the charge. The Shadowhunters will pick the stray beasts off from behind. We will attack at dusk when half the sun is hidden from the eye.” He gestured with his sword at the rising sun, and he extended his wings. His massive wingspan seemed to fill the sky, and Shimmer's heart swelled with pride.
He held his sword up to the heavens, and it transformed. It grew larger, into the shape of a claymore, and it turned a shade of sacred jade. It glowed with an otherworldly light, and the crowd was enamored by the display.
“Now, hunters. Spend the rest of today preparing. The hunt is on tonight. Ludwig, The Holy Blade will be with all of you in spirit.” He bellowed, and the crowd erupted in applause and cheers.
Shimmer saw a proud, triumphant look in Aegis’ eyes, and she felt the same. Ludwig’s blade captivated her. The blade of legend, inspiring all who lay eyes on it.
Ludwig would be with them tonight. The best, the greatest, the strongest hunter ever.
Tonight, the hunters would not know defeat.
Nor would they ever, with Ludwig alive and at their side.
May the good blood guide your way,

2024.05.16 03:46 TehKrazyKarl H: Caps W: Milkman Hat and Outfit (Plans maybe?)

I'm a relatively new player, started this month, currently level 31. During my first few days of playing, someone gave me a Milkman outfit and I later learned there was a hat as well, so of course I wanted to get that too. I looked into how to get the plans for the outfit and hat and one of the wikis said it was from Safe and Sound, which I make sure to do whenever it's up, still no luck. I've also scoured player vendors for the plans or just the pieces themselves without luck. Can anyone help? Thanks!

2024.05.16 03:29 JosephMontag404 I (possibly) lost a gread deal opportunity... because of politics

Last week I have this important dinner with a business man and his team, me and my partners want him to introduce our product on his company's routines. Honestly, everything was going just great for the last months, everyone was getting along until that dinner, it was at on of his associate's house. The mood was light, everyone was joking and having some drinks (I'm muslim, so didn't consume any alcohol) and people were starting to get a bit light headed and giggly.
I don't recall what was the exact context of this conversation, but I was talking about how good it is to allow employees to work remotely, for it is proven to increase productivity and life quality, it reduces expenses in rent and electricity at the office, and it also enlarges the hiring pool, for you are not limited to people available on your comunity, but in the entire country (or even the world). Then the conversation shifted to taxes, because people who work remotely in other countries may face tax challenges declaring their income. All good so far, until they start complaining about how the government overcomplicate the way we have to declare taxes since "They already spy on us and know everything" (their words). So I got a direct question: Do you think the governmet is trustworthy?
Summarizing my reply, I said "no", when they asked me to elaborate (reassuring that 'they' includes people from both companies), I stated that there is so much dirt in the places of power, and mentioned the Jeffrey Epstein episode, in which he was beign watched by two guards and monitored by cameras 24/7, and conveniently enough he found a gap in the guard surveillance to attempt agains his life (also the cameras malfunctioned at the exact moment).
We shouldn't discuss politics specially in the situation I was in, but I thought I was being evasive and saying common sense... But guys, y'all have no idea what this dinner became after I mentioned the J.E. thing. Their chief of techology and infrastructure started rampanting on me, raised his voice, said I was stupid and only believe on 2 minute videos I see on Facebook, rather than actually making research about the facts, that I spread misinformation and becuase of people like me that society is falling apart, for I knew nothing about what I was saying and even said I was the conspiracy theorist, the type that wears aluminum papel hats.
I don't know if he was already drunk or what, but I found this reaction way over exagerated. I didn't even say something that crazy, I said that there is dirt in the positions of power and in the end they do what they want, doesn't matter if it is good or bad to the people. Anyway, after that the mood was completely ruined, everyone was silent, I looked over my watch and said something like 'yeah, think it's time for me to go', and then left.
After that, I appointed people to talk to them in my place for now, and we have another meeting scheduled to the end of June, but I honestly don't think this deal is going to happen no more, their CTO's probably will do whatever he can to boyicot it.
I have to admit that I was very surprised by his reaction, I was not expecting that at all, in my mind they would just shrug and say somthing like "that's so much we don't know about right... anyone want more beer..." and keep going with the meeting, rather than throw a tantrum.
For reference:
1- I'm not the CEO of the company I represent, I own 20% of the shares and work at the Finance office, specially on expansions.
2 - It is not to the guy who yelled at me to decide if rather or not the deal is going to happen, but he has influence and can act behind the curtains.
3 - English is not my primary language, so please overlook minor grammatical errors 👍
4 - Maybe I'm overthinkg it and no one really cares about what happened that night

Episode Ranking (From best to worst):
  1. Sand Castles in the Sand - 8/10: Best episode of the season, and no one is surprised. This episode is creative, and fun and has jokes that land. The opening's not great, but the rest of the episode makes up for it
  2. Not Normal - 8/10: Great concept and the way Normal SpongeBob talks got a laugh out of me
  3. Ditchin - 8/10: The story is really good and the jokes are pretty good
  4. Suction Cup Symphony - 7/10: In a season that loves to beat Squidward down, seeing him succeed is a good break from the norm
  5. Single Cell Aniversary - 7/10: The song is nice and I wish we got to see more of Plankton caring about Karen
  6. Grandpappy the Pirate - 7/10: Nice to have another pirate-based episode (even if this one was staged) and it's pretty well executed
  7. Krabby Road - 7/10: Pretty fun and the rock band motif gives it a nice leg to stand on
  8. SpongeBob Vs the Big One - 7/10: I like the vibes of this one
  9. The Slumber Party - 7/10: I like how Mr Krabs' concern in this episode is more about his house getting wrecked, makes for a nice change of pace
  10. Chum Caverns - 7/10: A bit of a weird story in terms of how it's structured and how things play out, but I liked this one
  11. House Fancy - 6/10: If it weren't for the toenail scene, people would not be hating this one as much
  12. Chum Bucket Supreme - 6/10: The way Plankton gets foiled is anti-climatic, but aside from that this one's decent
  13. Krusty Krushers - 6/10: I like this one but if only I found Sponge and Pat endearingly naive rather than annoyingly childish
  14. Komputer Overload - 6/10: Cool premise, could've been more creative with it
  15. Overbooked - 6/10: I wish Mr Krabs and Patrick didn't feel like they were guilt-tripping SpongeBob, then this episode would've been more enjoyable
  16. The Card - 6/10: The people who say this is one of the show's worst episodes take Patrick's line about his stupidity too seriously
  17. Penny Foolish - 6/10: People seem to hate this one, but I think it's fun
  18. Gone - 6/10: This episode is pretty decent but could they have not chosen a better ending joke?
  19. A Life in a Day - 6/10: I liked this one but it could've done with more laughs
  20. Truth or Square - 5/10: For a tenth-anniversary special, this is really lame
  21. Grooming Gary - 5/10: It's basically 'The Great Snail Race' if Gary was able to stand up for himself
  22. Gullible Pants - 5/10: This one is boring and I have nothing to say about it
  23. No Nose Knows - 5/10: I find the story and Patrick's tone could've used some work, but it had some jokes I thought were decent
  24. Shell Shocked - 5/10: This episode feels like a lot of nothing happening
  25. Spongicus - 5/10: With such a cool theme, why does it feel like they don't do anything interesting with it?
  26. To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants - 5/10: I like the opening, that was pretty funny, but everything else is just average
  27. Porous Pockets - 5/10: A basic concept and basic execution
  28. No Hat for Pat - 5/10: I feel like 'What's Eating Patrick?' did the whole Patrick and Mr Krabs dynamic better
  29. Professor Squidward - 5/10: The most tolerable of the Neighbour trio episodes this season, yet SpongeBob and Patrick feel forced into it
  30. Plankton's Regular - 5/10: This is one of the better twist endings, I just think the execution isn't that great
  31. Pineapple Fever - 4/10: This one feels like 'Club SpongeBob' mixed with 'To Save a Squirrel', and it's not as good as either of them
  32. Toy Store of Doom - 4/10: I'm saying this a lot in this ranking, but the concept's good, execution is not
  33. Patty Caper - 4/10: When you're doing a mystery plot, you actually need to solve the mystery instead of doing a dumb twist
  34. Slide Whistle Stooges - 4/10: Higher than most people would rank it, but I found this one tolerable at the least
  35. Sun Bleached - 4/10: I don't like the message this one sends, and no the ending line doesn't make up for it
  36. Dear Vikings - 4/10: Cool idea, but the execution is really mundane and the story goes nowhere
  37. Shuffle-Boarding - 4/10: This feels like 'Hall Monitor' if Sponge and Pat felt more stupid rather than simply oblivious
  38. Pet or Pests - 4/10: This episode meanders too much and nothing of interest actually happens
  39. The Krusty Chronicle - 3/10: Probably the most uncaring Mr Krabs has gotten
  40. Nautical Novice - 3/10: The ending twist is the biggest cop-out this series has ever produced
  41. The Splinter - 3/10: I don't mind the premise but Patrick's scene and the constant gross-out makes this episode a chore
  42. Giant Squidward - 3/10: It's sad seeing Sponge and Pat become less innocently oblivious and more obnoxiously idiotic
  43. Squid's Visit - 3/10: If you wanted to do this type of story, maybe don't use your main character as the antagonist
  44. The Clash of Triton - 3/10: Despite the title and the fact it's a special episode promising a good time, the final product is a bore
  45. Choir Boys - 2/10: The thing about the Squidward episodes this season is that the worst ones always share the same problems
  46. Boating Buddies - 2/10: The shrink-ray bit was good, but that's the only redeeming element about this one
  47. Cephalopod Lodge - 1/10: Everyone has their own choice for the worst episode of the show. This one's mine. The story sucks, SpongeBob and Patrick are annoying instead of endearing, and the ending is infuriating instead of funny. I like the eel being a live-action sock, but that hardly saves it.
Season Overall - 5/10: I don't like Season 6. Not because it has the worst episodes of the show thus far, but because the majority of episodes I don't care for and the ones I like not really reaching the peak as the best of the last five seasons. This is the lowest point of the show, but let's see if Season 7 is any better...

2024.05.16 02:20 temp99997 New community for sorting houses

Hi all,
There are a lot of people still looking for help in making the most important decision in the Wizarding World experience, the house sorting. People try the Hogwarts Sorting on Wizarding World and are not satisfied with the result and end up recreating their accounts to get to the house they wanted to be in but still the feeling of 'Is this who I am' keeps bothering them and then they try to post here to get help but get discouraged and downvoted as this community is focused on discussing the lore.
Hence, I decided to create SortingHatHP (SortingHat was taken) as a community driven sub to help people get sorted. The original idea was to allow only poll posts with the 4 four houses as options, not sure how to restrict that, and let people describe themselves. Then the community votes them into a house.
Would anyone be interested in moderating the community? Also it's open for any suggestions.
Thanks.

2024.05.16 02:18 anomaly0617 Coming from VMware to OpenStack. Help me fill in the gaps?

Hi all,
Long time Linux user here. Like, my first Linux machine was in 1998 or so running whatever Red Hat version was popular then, and I've been running some form of Linux ever since in server capacities. I've also been running VMware since v3 around 2011, and I've toyed with Proxmox CE on and off for a few years. So I get Linux, and I get virtualization. But I'm still hitting a wall.
I went through this tutorial using a spare Dell PowerEdge R720 with Xeon CPUs, 192 GB of RAM, and Solid State drives that lives in our data center in .
It's IP in my internal network at the data center is, let's say, "192.168.11.93". It's not, but why would I post internal network stuff on the internet???
I can SSH into it, as well as get to the console via Enterprise iDRAC over the site-to-site VPN tunnel between my office and the data center.
I ran into a problem getting the 28-29 services to start, but found the solution here.
I theoretically can now get to my openstack-horizon interface on (according to the server) http://10.21.21.12:80/operstack-horizon.
This leads to problem #1: I don't have a graphical UI on this server. I purposefully did a minimal Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS install, because VMware servers don't have a graphical UI on them either, and I don't want to waste memory on a graphical UI that I'll rarely access directly. Sure, I could install the graphical UI and then set the default environment to multi-user, but I come back around to "why waste the disk space and resources for something I'm going to access from the console rarely?"
So I'm wondering how I take the IP address they gave me for the openstack-horizon UI and make it accessible via the server's IP address, http://192.168.11.93/openstack-horizon. Firewall rule, or is there something cleaner? If it's a firewall rule, is there a template for this somewhere for me to look at?
Then there's problem #2: Let's say I have 10 physical servers and I want them all running openstack in a high availability cluster. I seem to have just set up a cluster on this server; I'm guessing I can join the other servers to this one. But what if this server dies? Is there a way to set up a virtual machine that acts as the cluster management interface? Or do I need a physical server for this? And if it's a physical server for this, how do you ensure you can get to the cluster if the physical server dies? In VMware, this is solved with a virtual machine that lives on shared storage and is migrated within the cluster as needed. Is there a similar openstack solution to this?
Problem #3 is down the road a little bit, but I want to connect my openstack servers to my SAN via iSCSI. I see the iSCSI initiator service is out there. I assume I just configure this with Ubuntu, set a target path like "/mnt/sanX/volY", and then rinse, lather, repeat for all servers?
Problem #4: Live migrations... is it a thing between members of the cluster?
I'm sure I'm putting some carts before some horses here. I'm just trying to migrate my knowlege-base from VMware to Openstack, and any help would be appreciated. I think Problem #1 is the obvious first one to tackle.
Thank you, in advance, for your patience!

2024.05.16 02:08 SuMeiMeiMei Teacher (me) said something awful to student

Student background: I have a student whose name I will change to Devon for privacy purposes. He is in third grade. Repeated 2nd. He has broken every rule in the book: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. He is physically aggressive, verbally aggressive, elopes class multiple times daily, is often disrespectful, and is very disruptive. He has used every insult you can think of and it doesn’t matter if you’re a kindergartner or adult. He has said horrible things to almost everyone, steals from other students and then aggressively smashes their things for fun, has held freshly sharpened pencils to other students’ necks and asked them if they want to die, laughs mockingly at others, doesn’t listen to authority (in fact shows defiance and refusal if you tell him anything), doesn’t do any work, the list goes on and on and on. And issues happen ALL. DAY. EVERY. DAY. Not a day goes by without incident. Collectively as a school, the specialists teachers, admin, and I have documented as much as we could and it could very well be as thick as a Harry Potter book. Every teacher and staff member at my school sympathizes and agrees that he is super challenging, and they tell me even the most veteran teachers would struggle with him.
Now, for my background: I haven’t yet received an official diagnosis for PMDD but I have received one for bipolar (which I don’t think I have but it seems that there are many other women who have been misdiagnosed with bipolar in this community prior to their PMDD diagnosis) and was one criteria away from an official ADHD diagnosis.
I also tend to show extreme hormonal sensitivity every time I start a new pack of birth control every month and show a lot of irritability and anger and other mood swings and all of that happens again like clockwork before my period. I get…ragey. It almost cost my relationship with my boyfriend of seven years multiple times in the past. I’m better at managing my emotions with my partner and family but not at work… Teachers, you know how stressful this job is. We have to wear every hat and smile through all the disrespect and overwork and little pay. But we love kids and value education and that’s why we do this.
Anyway, I learned from Devon’s dad yesterday that his mom left the family when Devon was 3 years old. He is the youngest child in the family. His dad in our meeting yesterday also said that he believes his son is constantly seeking attention (in the most negative ways) to fill in this void and that’s why he acts out. The mom has had a strong presence in the older siblings lives and barely any in Devon’s life.
So, the story is… I have showed restraint and professionalism and bit my tongue since the third month of school and we have 6 actual school days left now. I almost got fired for lashing out at Devon once before. But I’ve ignored most of his behavior since the third month of school and let admin take care of it. Also note that I’m not coming back next year since my admin didn’t renew my teaching contract for not having good classroom management. End is near, not coming back anyway, my most well-behaved kids are acting unruly, had a medical emergency and a loss in the past month, and I’ve HAD IT with Devon’s nonsense. We just started eating breakfast this morning. School just began. And already, Devon and his bff Bruno are picking a fight with one of my most well-behaved students who I’ll call Sam. Devon’s laughing and egging my well-behaved student Sam to fight Bruno. Then my well-behaved student who is clearly done with Devon’s nonsense gets mad and gets in Devon’s face, ready to fight. Devon says to get out of his face and I’m OVER IT. I’m thinking, “WHY DOES THIS KID CAUSE PROBLEMS EVERY DAY?! SCHOOL JUST STARTED!” I walked past him and was someone else. I just started UNLEASHING upon him everything I’ve been holding back. He’s disrespectful, he’s mean, he causes problems every day, and I ended it with “and that’s why your mom left you when you were three.”
…………Not my finest moment.
I felt horrible after and thought, “Holy moly WHAT DID I DO…? How did I let myself say something like that?”
I apologized three times to him. He looked really sad. Whole third grade staff and third grade students and admin knows. Again they sympathize but tell me it still wasn’t cool. My boyfriend, same thing. Said he sympathizes and said I was probably better off just calling him dumb and ugly.
A colleague told me since my contract isn’t getting renewed that I should take a break from teaching for the sake of my mental health. But I don’t know what other careers to pursue that aren’t going to require tuition from a university again. I have a bachelor’s in psychology, an initial teaching license, and am struggling financially as it is. I need to make at least $50k a year pre-tax to keep up with my bills.
Yikes. Thoughts? Advice?
Edit: fixed typos and fixed fake names, whoops!
