2024.05.16 23:28 EmptyPomegranete Need help planning a wedding murder mystery

Two of my players are getting married (yay!!) and I want to implant a wedding themed murder mystery into my current campaign as part of their wedding gift. It’s a homebrew loosely based off of the Legend of Zelda, but I want the wedding sessions to function more as a one shot within the game. The idea is the party gets invited to a royal wedding and during the reception someone is murdered. The two players specifically requested puzzles and mystery. Has anyone run a murder mystery session before? Any tips?

2024.05.16 23:24 IrishFlukey John Sullivan's as a writer of drama

We all know how funny his writing was, but there was a lot of really good writing that was not comedy in Only Fools and Horses. There was of course the theme running right through the show of the family loving each other, despite their problems. So many dramatic and touching moments. Grandad's funeral. Del standing in the function room after Rodney's wedding as "Holding Back The Years" plays. Marlene having to leave the baby she hoped to adopt. Albert explaining after the court case about how he wanted to get money for Grandad's gravestone. Del explaining to Raquel how he had to take control after his mum died and his father left. Del's fear and later relief when it turns out he doesn't have cancer. Rodney telling Del how he feels after the miscarriage when they are in the lift. Albert remembering how the docks were as a lively port when he was young. The list could go on and I am sure you will add some more of them.
There are so many scenes which could stand by themselves as pure and brilliant dramatic writing, amidst all the comedy. If someone walked into a room and saw one of those scenes, they would not have known they were in a classic comedy show. While we loved the series as a comedy, there was a lot drama to also hook us in. He knitted the comedy and those really serious scenes together seamlessly. He wrote a lot of sitcoms, but he could just have easily written many serious drama shows too. John Sullivan was a genius.

2024.05.16 23:15 tennille_24 Wedding Playlist - Ghibli

My fiancée and I are struggling to pick some final favs from Ghibli films to use in our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour background music. We LOVE Ghibli, and definitely have some favs but they all don’t seem to flow together as they are from different films… Anyone have some recommendations/favs from the films that flow well? We are open to them not flowing as well but thought I’d get some inspiration from some fellow Ghibli lovers!
I know that’s such a generic ask, so if it helps our theme is woodsy/nature vibes at a botanical garden thank you!

2024.05.16 22:28 Euphoric-Raspberry31 In Need Of Partner.

Hello! Just as the name suggests, I’m looking for someone to roleplay with! Before messaging me, I would like it if you could read through. Let me start off by introducing myself, and telling you about myself so you get a good idea of who I am, and if that doesn’t scare you off then great!
My name is Euphie or Ras, whichever is fine, I’ve been roleplaying for several years and even aspire to write a book at some point. I work, have a spouse, and I also do a lot of gaming, anime watching and binging. Roleplay wise: I am comfortable doubling up, playing male and female roles, I have diverse characters (they’re all not mary sues) and I’m big on communicating with my partner. I can do semi-literate to literate, and be able to match what my partner gives. I do not mind playing Canon character’s, it’s not my strong point but I’m down to try anything. Just so I know you have read through this properly; tell me what is the capital of Hawaii?
What I’m looking for; I’ll try to keep this simple. I do require a few things from my partner if they are to RP with me but they’re not too bad.
1.) Please be older than 21. I’m older than 25, it’s a bit weird for me.
2.) Be comfortable playing Male Roles and or Doubling up. I like to play both genders; but I’m still rusty when it comes to being a man. Most of my men are morally gray buttheads anyways.
3.) Communicate. This is my biggest thing. I’ve had people ghost me a lot, or suddenly change their mind when they realized I’m not 24/7 waiting to talk to them. I’ve also had people drop me over little misunderstandings. Just to let you know, I will likely ask you multiple times for clarification.
4.) GOOGLE DOC/Discord. I only roleplay through Google Doc, I try not to use Discord a lot but for the right moment I will heavily contemplate it!
I am looking for several things. * is how I will rate how badly I’m wanting it. *** is the most.
Fandoms:
***Baldur’s Gate 3 / OC x Canon / Either; Gale, Astarion or Halsin: I have a vague idea for this, I would be willing to double and play whoever.
**Harry Potter / OC x Canon / Draco Malfoy - Again, I can play whoever for you, I have a storyline for this.
*** Call Of Duty / OC x Canon / Either; Soap MacTavish, Alejandro Vargas. Same as before.
*** Bridgerton - The new season is coming and I am heavily excited for it. So, anything themed. Prefer double up and maybe OC x OC.
Tropes:
NOTE: Do not come into my DMs wanting....more than just RP.
***Second Chance: MC1 and MC2 dated for years until one day MC1 left town, never to be heard from again, MC2 moved on and eventually either a funeral or a wedding happens and MC1 is back in town many years later. I have a plot for this. I’VE BEEN WANTING FOR LIKE EVER to roleplay this.
** Best Friends Brother - MC3 is MC2’s best friend, and grew up together. MC3 is MC2’s brother who went off to the military after graduating High School. MC1 has not needed MC3 since they graduated highschool nearly 10 years ago.
*** The One Night Stand - After a fling, both character’s go separate ways. MC1s family is hosting an event (maybe they’re rich or own a company), only to be reintroduced to MC2 who is investing into MC1’s family's business or whatever.
** Fake It - MC1 needs to marry someone in order to maintain their social status AND MC2 is struggling financially to help their family , so MC1 devises a plan to fake marry MC2 and in return, MC1 will help MC2s family.
I’m also open to fantasy related things like:
Arranged Marriages. Princess x Knight. Demon x Priest/Priestess.
Feel free to DM me if you have any ideas!

2024.05.16 21:25 ermagerditssuperman Paper or Origami flowers that aren't DIY?

I'm trying to cut down on the amount of real flowers we're using, to cut down on both budget costs and waste. (Most of the florists near me hover around $350 for a bridal bouquet, which we can do, but once you add a wedding party of 8, and family, and table decor, etc our decor budget of 1.5K doesn't cut it.). The wedding is at the end of the year in southern/central Virginia, colours/theme is just Fall in Virginia. I am thinking a real bouquet and maybe primary centrepieces, then use alternatives for everything else.
I really love the look of paper flowers, origami flowers, japanese folded flowers etc. And I think they would look great for boutenierres, corsages, and some decor. I prefer these to fake-but-realistic-looking plastic or silk flowers, I enjoy how they look handmade/crafted and think they'd complement the real flowers better. But all the resources (aka reddit posts) I can find are on DIY-ing them yourself. I really don't want to make them myself. (I'm doing my own calligraphy because I'm an avid fountain pen gal, but I know making my own decor would really stress me out. Even if they turned out beautiful - I would, personally, be miserable during the process.).
So my actual question - does anyone have experience buying these types of flowers? Any recommendations on vendors/sellers, or general tips? Etsy has so many options, it can get overwhelming without recommendations. Please and thank you!!

Happy real fake anniversary to the Lying Liars Who Lie!
And no, I'm not talking about "The Slow and the Spurious," near-catastrophic snail chase.
I'm talking about Hank and the former Briefcase Girl's 'Real or Not Real' sixth wedding anniversary.
The [Temu Emu] sat down for a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey and said they had actually tied the knot six years ago today on May 16, 2018, in a secret garden ceremony. "Three days before our wedding, we got married," Meghan revealed.
She said the Archbishop of Canterbury had carried out the wedding in their garden at Kensington Palace three days before the official date. Speaking in the 2021 interview, Harry also said the ceremony was attended by "just the three of us," but it seems the couple weren't quite telling the truth.
The Archbishop later said the couple's May 19 wedding was the real deal... "The legal wedding was on the Saturday. I signed the wedding certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a serious criminal offence if I signed it knowing it was false. So you can make what you like about, but the legal wedding was on the Saturday."
Harry and Meghan later released a statement to clarify their claims in the Oprah interview. A spokesperson for the couple explained they had "privately exchanged personal vows a few days before their official/legal wedding on May 19."
So why even say something so stupid and easily disproven? On national TV?
"Clarifying their lies claims" appears to be a running theme with these two idiots. Recollections may vary, especially when one lives in Delululand.
The F*cking Grifters should celebrate their fake anniversary with another fake car chase. Good times.

2024.05.16 19:28 After_Bumblebee9013 Is blood-drinking sexual??

Tldr: is it fair to say that vampires feeding from other vampires is an allegory for sex, and if so can we consider forced-blood drinking a symbol for pe? What does that imply for Lestats actions in EP 5? What are yalls opinions.

Im a little confused about vampiric allegory in the Anne Rice universe. I've read the first two books, and to me it was pretty clear that blood drinking/biting is comparable to sex because it's very intimate and personal, and the bodily sensations are very sensual.
For example, ive always viewed Lestat being turned by Magnus to be an allegory for s/xual assault. He is ashamed by his bodily reaction and the way the whole thing is described feels extremely violating. The sensations are dizzying and terrifying for him and losing blood makes him weaker and weaker until he physically cannot fight off his attacker.
That being said... In EP five, what are the implications of Lestat drinking off of Louis? Im guessing he wanted to drain Louis in order to weaken him before they went into the clouds, but I'm thinking there's something more insidious about it. Theres a blurred line between consentual and forced blood drinking in the show because Lestat took a "petite coup" off of Louis when they had sex without saying anything, by then he explicitly asks for consent before turning Louis in EP 1 and that scene was framed to be very romantic (with church and wedding imagery).
The reason I thought of this was because Louis ends his first hallucination with Dream!Lestat aggressively feeding off of him in EP 2x1, and the sounds he made seemed painful/scared, not at all pleasurable.
If I follow through with this symbolism does that mean Louis is imagining Lestat would pe him??? It definitely would fall in line with the themes of martial abuse, sex, ect. I'm not sure if it was even intentional by the showrunners, but that would definitely open up another way of exploring sexual trauma. Of course I know Armand was explicitly subjected to pe and grooming regardless of vampiric allegory, so it's not like it's too outlandish for this series.
What do y'all think? Am I just making all of this up in my head?

2024.05.16 19:09 BROKEN_B0NEZ THE DEEP NORTH! a post ashlands discussion

i recognise that the ashlands has just released, but my interest since the start of the game has and always will be the deep north because of how i play the game
In every world ive ever played in, i make my way to the deep north to create a castle spanning 1/4 to 1/3 of the biome, it is an understatement to call these builds a gargantuan undertaking, but i love them a feature of all of these builds are wolves and trapped fenrings or ulvs the mountains is my favourite biome, i loved the caves, i loved the fenrings and ulvs, the cultists, farming for the fenris claws, and the fenris set which is still my main set with the mountains being my favourite biome, for me the deep north is going to be "the mountains 2" and i simply cant contain my excitement and need to speculate
with that out of the way i suppose i should clarify this will be a rambly post, as i said im very excited about this update specifically so i apologise in advance, i will condense my thoughts at the bottom of the post
getting right into it, the biome boss. i have a few ideas for this one, whilst i can see a frost giant being the biome boss, i could also see arguments for nidhogg or even fenrir himself. if i could choose based on my bias, id pick fenrir, but i also believe there would be no better suited biome boss than him in the mountains one of the unique mobs is of course, the cultists, the ulvs and the fenring, all quite clearly in reference to fenris, whilst the north could take a completely different approach, maybe more towards frost giants, i think building off of the fenris idea would allow for so much more creativity
building off of the fenris world boss idea, we could have tameable, rideable dire wolves (if this isnt the angle they take so help me god with my own two hands i will mod this into existence, even if its as crude as simply making a normal wolf bigger, i will have this) i would love the whole, fenrir cult thing to be expanded upon too because i feel like were just glossing over the fact that in this purgatory world theres just casually a cult that worships fenris?
we could see the heavy armor set take up a wolf like theme, similar to what people have done in mods, we could see a new mage weapon that transforms you into an ulv or a fenring or a cultist- you get the idea here, you become the monster and control it for a set time, or perhaps until you "die", wherein youd be reverted back to your human state?
we could see an expansion on the whole archetype that the fenris claws brought forward, because whilst they are a fist weapon so that they have the unique interaction with the fenris set, they are actually daggers. my only complaint is that the heavy attack for the fenris claws is a kick? id like to see a new "fist" weapon or maybe the devs actually leaning into fist weapons like gauntlets at some point, because for right now the only fist weapon is the fenrir claws
i have too many thoughts and ideas for this update surrounding fenris and frost giants, to condense my thoughts;

Update on the Sulemio vs. Destiel Poll For Folks Allergic to Tumblr
I know it's just a sillly shipping poll, but honestly I've been enjoying it. It's been great as free advertising, both for Witch from Mercury and Gundam in general, I learned that Korean localizers had to make an entirely new word to describe Eri's and Miorine's relationship, and there's even a video of somebody crafting a wedding-themed Aerial gunpla. 2024.05.16 16:41 madroscla Great Expectations, WAOLOM, and the Lover House

Great Expectations, WAOLOM, and the Lover House
It’s time for a short Charles Dickens lesson.
In Great Expectations, Miss Havisham is a wealthy woman whose life is ruined when she is left at the altar by a man who only wanted to use her for her money. She essentially stops her life at the moment of his betrayal (which was while she was getting ready for the wedding): all the clocks in the house are stopped at the same time, she never takes off her wedding dress or changes how she looks mid-preparation, her wedding cake and meal are left untouched, and she locks herself away in her mansion as it rots away with her and her belongings inside.
She adopts a girl, Estella, to care for as a way of easing her suffering, but quickly she decides to raise Estella to break men’s hearts as an act of revenge, orchestrating the events of the novel so that the main character falls in love with Estella. Near the end of the novel however, she sees that the pain she’s inflicted on others not only mirrors her own pain, but also brings her no happiness, and she begs for forgiveness. Shortly after, her wedding dress catches fire in her mansion, severely burning her in the process. To me, this symbolizes the destruction of her obsession with her past as a path of moving forward. She ultimately dies from her burns, which may represent true freedom from her tortured life.
Taylor is Miss Havisham, especially in TTPD but also even earlier than that.
There are a few hints pointing towards this, starting with “right where you left me.” In the song, Taylor is also frozen in time at the moment her heart was broken (in the corner of a restaurant rather than a mansion), stuck for so long that dust is settling on her hair while the rest of the world moves on without her. Her hair is also “pinned up,” indicating that it was styled for some occasion, similar to how Miss Havisham was frozen while preparing for her wedding. We see the same theme of being frozen in time in “the lakes,” with Taylor singing about wisteria growing over her feet “because I haven’t moved in years,” and the music video for Fortnight paints a similar picture to RWYLM, as Taylor is locked away wearing a disheveled wedding dress, her hair also messily pinned back.
The big giveaway for me is in “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” with the lines “So all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs / I'm always drunk on my own tears, isn't that what they all said?” as well as the Eras Tour visuals depicting a woman (probably Taylor) trapped inside a Victorian mansion, her face in her hands. Her outfit for this part of the set is also reminiscent of the wedding dress she wore in the Fortnight video.
https://preview.redd.it/eofhb3r9vs0d1.png?width=1346&format=png&auto=webp&s=eca10f3fe7a879430e97779bcec3bf529a3b6e3f
What really sells me are the visuals on the stage itself: smoke/fire constantly billows from the screen towards the end of the stage, as though there’s a fire in the mansion with Taylor inside. Near the end of the song, Taylor’s face appears in the smoke (which many people have pointed out looks like the cover art of reputation).
https://preview.redd.it/izova7tcvs0d1.jpg?width=1225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=508e897a333729668b90a336cf553739e18ee436
The question is then what this all means: what is she trying to convey with all this?
We all realize that in one way or another, Taylor’s heart was broken and she hasn’t been able to move on from it. It can’t just be about the conundrum with her masters as that has very obviously not stopped Taylor, with her releasing five albums and four rerecords since SB stepped into the picture. A more likely explanation would be the Failed Coming Out during the Lover era, which all four of the previously mentioned songs can be interpreted as being about in some way. If we consider the FCO the moment of heartbreak, Taylor is still frozen to this day.
In terms of what the stand-in for Estella is, what stands out to me is the folklore love triangle, specifically the role of James. Before TTPD, James was a 100% fictional character who was in love with other 100% fictional characters; Taylor made a grand point to spell this out before performing “betty” at every show. It’s a hetsplanation, dispelling any rumors that Taylor wrote a song about being in love with other women and wanting them to kiss her in forgiveness. Since the incident with jaMEs and the addition of TTPD to the set, Taylor is now open about James being a fictionalized version of herself, talking about how she loves to sing songs about Betty. Estella was made to break hearts, and whether James is Estella or if Taylor’s broader, constant hetsplanations is Estella is up to interpretation.
For Miss Havisham, the house is a self-inflicted prison; she’s so overcome with her own grief that she’s unable to face time moving forward for everyone else. We also see this in the visuals for WAOLOM, but I think it’s worth pointing out that the house displayed during this part of the tour isn’t one we’re familiar with. In fact, until the TTPD set was added, the house we knew was the Lover house.
To me, the Lover house represents Taylor Swift The Brand, her life packaged into marketable eras since the Lover era. We watch her move throughout the house like how we watch sitcoms (which also lack a fourth wall) and we feel attached to her because we see all that happens in her life. This also allows Taylor to perform: knowing that we’re watching, she can tailor (hehe) the viewing experience to push whatever narrative that she wants.
The Lover house goes through lots of stages throughout the original version of the show: other than the Lover room, all the other rooms are empty, and even Lover Room Taylor leaves through the mirror before the set is over. The outline is seen during the original transition to the Fearless set, looking reminiscent of it being on fire, and then it is officially set on fire during “Bad Blood.” Once TTPD was added, the house now falls over like a cardboard cutout during the transition to Fearless, completely empty besides the yellow dress left on the bed in the Lover room. This to me feels like Taylor’s way of saying that the Lover house has officially burnt down and what we see now is just a facade.
Fire appears several times throughout the tour visuals: the aforementioned burning of the Lover house, the bed burning in Wildest Dreams, and recently, the fire underneath Taylor during the bridge of But Daddy I Love Him. Fire has always been a theme in Taylor’s music, often being destructive and painful, and that’s still the case in Great Expectations, but fire is also how Miss Havisham is freed from her torment. If we view fire throughout the Eras Tour similarly, the multiple fires in the visuals may represent different flavors of freedom for Taylor. For instance, the flames under Taylor in BDILH appears after the bridge when she says “you don’t gotta pray for me,” indicating not only that she will “burn in hell” but also that she is now free from the restraints of Christian/conservative values.
In the case of the Lover house being burnt to the ground, it’s literally the destruction of Taylor’s past, just like how Miss Havisham’s dress catching fire symbolizes the destruction of her past. Whether this destruction symbolizes moving on from her decisions in the past or if it indicates the death of our view/perspective of Taylor and her life is up for interpretation, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it’s multi-faceted.
With the addition of TTPD, the Lover house has been replaced by this Victorian mansion during WAOLOM; we can still see Taylor inside through the windows, but it has all of its walls hiding the rooms, potentially being a new boundary between us and Taylor. Maybe this is her way of saying that she will still share aspects of her life with us, but only the ones she wants us to see. It’ll be interesting to see how the TTPD set and this house develops throughout the rest of the tour.
Even though the Lover house has burned down, there’s still smoke coming from the new mansion. There is another fire, but it’s inside the mansion, one that we can’t see. We can only see the smoke, which does recreate Taylor’s face on the reputation cover. Taylor herself keeps saying that she’s “fired up,” that the reputation vault tracks will be “fire,” and several of her new outfits on the tour use a fire color palette.
I’m definitely a Karma believer, but I also think that the reputation rerecord will give us more insight on what is going on inside the mansion, what’s currently being burnt to the ground.
Other references/allusions that can apply to this analysis:
  • Peter Pan - those in Neverland are literally frozen in time and unable to grow up
  • Jane Eyre - the insane wife locked in the attic by her husband (she also sets her husband’s room on fire
  • Cages - the house/her past is a cage that traps her, much like the literal cages she references often
  • Windows - the new mansion has several windows, one of which is how we see Taylor during WAOLOM

The author of the critically acclaimed poetry collection Night Sky with Exit Wounds, winner of the 2016 Whiting Award, the 2017 T. S. Eliot Prize and a 2019 MacArthur fellow, Vuong writes directly to our humanity without losing sight of the current moment. 2024.05.16 15:25 PossiblyAburd FMIL’s dress is almost more formal than my dress

My whole wedding is a boho, rustic vibe. It’s not casual but it’s certainly not an overly formal affair (garden wedding with lawn games and s’mores). On that theme, my wedding dress is very boho. It’s more cream than white. It has lots of flowers embroidered on it. It doesn’t have a train. It’s not even technically a wedding dress. I bought it from a designer clothing brand I’ve really adored for awhile because I like their ethos about sustainability and their general style.
My FMIL sent me a picture of her dress. It’s a full on gown. First of all, it’s white with a few blue flowers on it. It’s a full length, one shoulder dress with crystals along the one shoulder. It’s pretty but it’s basically more of a gown than my wedding dress. I’ve explained to her a few times that I think she will be overdressed as no one else (including myself) will be at her level of formality. She insists on wearing it and is even trying to pressure my mom to match her formality (my mom picked out a cute midi dress with polka dots). She wants my mom to wear a formal gown as well so she doesn’t stick out.
I’m trying to be very delicate and polite about the situation but it’s just weird! Why do you want to wear a formal white dress to your son’ss wedding??? Especially one that you know is more white and more formal than the actual bride! My fiancé has told his mom more sternly that her dress is not a good idea but she’s stubborn. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s any changing her idea and she’ll show up wearing what she wants. It’s still super frustrating though!

2024.05.16 13:35 agentofhermamora We've been doing stuff together ever since our friends moved away and we don't know if we can tolerate making new friends or if we just don't care

This post mentions furries. If you don't like furries, ignore this post.
tl;dr want to make new, physical friends in the local furry community but not sure about it because we've been spending time 'alone' with headmates so much. Host has been a furry for almost 20 yrs and it is very important to her.
About 4 years ago, all of the host's friends moved away or vanished. Before that, she had a lot of friends she would spend her time with. Since then, we've found things to do that don't involve another physical person. The host goes places, like theme parks, and hangs out with the headmates. It's been a lot of fun and we've gotten used to it. We don't mind doing stuff 'alone' any more. In the past, we'd struggle with this and would want a friend with us.
Host is a furry, and wants to get back into the local community. Most of her friends that moved away or vanished were furries, and they would always go to the local meets.
Now they aren't here.
Being a furry is more fun with friends (and safer, because host wants a new fursuit but that isn't a hobby you can do alone safely). There are a lot of local meets, but host is wary of making new furry friends. We have met a LOT of weirdos and unsavory people in the past. We have also made a lot of good friends. Sometimes, the host just doesn't feel like trying to make friends or doesn't want friends. Granted, she DOES have friends, the headmates, and they are as real as anyone else, but sometimes a PHYSICAL friend is nice to have. We have not spent time with an actual physical friend, aside from the friend the host has known since middle school.
It's a bit strange, because the host isn't afraid of people or introverted. She will talk to random people at theme parks with no problem, hang out with them, and then never see them again or think to ask if they want to exchange contact info. We go to theme park events with a national group and enjoy time with other people, but largely enjoy being by ourselves and doing our own thing.
We guess she's just wary of new people or not as interested in new people as she thought.
So we're struggling because we kind of want to do new things in our local community and get involved. But at the same time the host is wary. Host is also an aromantic asexual, and doesn't appreciate people hitting on her or making comments. Furries in the past have done this to her.
We're looking for any advice. Something to give us insight or make us approach this differently.

We'll delve into key factors to consider when choosing the perfect car, explore some of Delhi's top wedding car rental companies, and offer some insider tips to ensure your arrival is as magical as your day itself.
Cruising Towards "I Do": Choosing the Perfect Wedding Car Rental
Your wedding car is more than just transportation – it's the chariot that carries you towards your happily ever after. Here are some key considerations to ensure your chariot rolls in with style:
Does a classic vintage car with its timeless elegance capture your heart? Or perhaps a sleek limousine exudes the modern sophistication you crave? Maybe a luxurious SUV reflects your adventurous spirit. Consider the overall theme of your wedding and choose a car that complements it perfectly.
Think about the number of guests you need to transport. A spacious limousine is ideal for a large bridal party, while a charming vintage car might be perfect for a more intimate ceremony. Consider the comfort of your entourage as well, especially if you're planning a longer journey.
Wedding car rentals can range in price depending on the car chosen, rental duration, and any additional services. Set a realistic budget and be sure to compare quotes from different companies to find the best value for your needs.
Some companies offer car decoration services, while others allow you to unleash your inner creative and personalize the car yourself. Discuss your decoration preferences with the rental company in advance. Imagine the car adorned with fresh flowers, flowing ribbons, or even a custom "Just Married" sign!
Look for companies that offer additional services to enhance your wedding experience. A professional driver ensures a smooth and stress-free journey, allowing you to relax and soak in the moment. Complimentary refreshments can add a touch of luxury, while a red carpet rollout will truly make you feel like royalty.

2024.05.16 12:16 southindianjewelry Trending Pelli Poola Jada Styles for Modern Brides

The Pelli Poola Jada, a traditional floral hair adornment, has been an integral part of South Indian bridal fashion for centuries. This beautiful accessory not only enhances the bride's beauty but also symbolizes purity and prosperity. As wedding trends evolve, so do the styles and designs of Pelli Poola Jada, merging traditional elements with modern aesthetics. In this blog, we'll explore some of the trending Pelli Poola Jada styles that are captivating the hearts of modern brides.

Trending Pelli Poola Jada Styles for Modern Brides

1. Classic Floral Cascade

The timeless charm of a classic floral cascade never goes out of style. This traditional design features a long braid adorned with an array of fresh flowers, typically jasmine, roses, or marigolds. The simplicity and elegance of the classic floral cascade make it a favorite among brides who want to stay rooted in tradition while exuding grace and beauty.

2. Jewel-Embedded Jada

For brides who love a touch of sparkle, jewel-embedded Pelli Poola Jada is a perfect choice. This style incorporates intricate jewelry pieces such as pearls, kundan, or semi-precious stones into the floral arrangement. The combination of flowers and jewels creates a luxurious look, adding an opulent touch to the bride’s overall appearance.

3. Fusion of Flowers and Ribbons

Modern brides are increasingly opting for innovative designs that blend traditional elements with contemporary flair. The fusion of flowers and ribbons is one such trend. In this style, colorful ribbons are intertwined with fresh flowers, creating a vibrant and playful look. This design is ideal for brides who want to add a pop of color and a modern twist to their traditional attire.

4. Botanical Wonderland

Inspired by the beauty of nature, the botanical wonderland Pelli Poola Jada features a mix of different types of flowers, leaves, and even tiny berries. This eclectic and whimsical design brings a touch of the garden to the bride’s ensemble, making it perfect for outdoor and garden weddings. The diversity of botanical elements creates a rich, textured look that is both unique and enchanting.

5. Minimalist Chic

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and minimalist Pelli Poola Jada styles are gaining popularity among brides who prefer understated elegance. This design focuses on fewer, carefully selected flowers arranged in a clean, linear fashion along the braid. The minimalist chic style is perfect for brides who want a sophisticated, modern look without overwhelming details.

6. Traditional with a Modern Twist

For brides who wish to honor tradition but also embrace modern trends, a traditional Pelli Poola Jada with a modern twist is the way to go. This style incorporates traditional flowers like jasmine and roses but adds unique elements such as feathers, lace, or even dried flowers. The blend of old and new creates a distinctive look that celebrates cultural heritage while showcasing individual style.

7. Floral Crown and Jada Combo

Combining the elegance of a floral crown with the beauty of a Pelli Poola Jada, this style is perfect for brides who want to make a bold statement. The floral crown sits atop the head, while the jada adorns the braid, creating a harmonious and regal appearance. This dual design is ideal for brides who want to blend princess-like charm with traditional bridal aesthetics.

8. Seasonal Blooms

Choosing seasonal blooms for the Pelli Poola Jada not only ensures fresh and vibrant flowers but also adds a unique touch to the bridal look. Seasonal flowers reflect the time of year and can be tailored to the wedding theme, making the bride’s ensemble feel more personal and connected to the season. From springtime blossoms to winter florals, the possibilities are endless.

Final Thoughts

The Pelli Poola Jada is more than just a hair accessory; it's a celebration of tradition, beauty, and cultural heritage. With these trending styles, modern brides can find the perfect balance between honoring timeless customs and expressing their unique personality. Whether you opt for a classic floral cascade or a minimalist chic design, the Pelli Poola Jada will undoubtedly add an enchanting touch to your bridal look, making your special day even more memorable.
Embrace these trends, and let your Pelli Poola Jada be a reflection of your style and elegance. Happy wedding planning!

2024.05.16 11:39 lolo59deutsch AITA for cancelling last minute for a wedding happening this week ?

My dad asked me in september to go to a family gathering for the weekend of the 18th of may. I said yes of course, it's a 3 day weekend so let's do it.
Except that until last week he wouldn't talk to me or exchange infos about the wedding unless I asked. Last month I tried to bring it up and he just brushed off all of my concerns.
Once i asked him in the family group chat (mom, dad, sister (18yo), brother (16yo) and me) " hey do you have the invite for the wedding that takes place in your family ?". He then when on a rant about me saying "your family" and that it was a bad thing that I was not saying in "my family". But the reason I said so is because my mom was in the group. So it makes sense to specify which part of the family I'm talking about.
The wedding is this weekend. He hasn't given me any details about when we are leaving, what is the theme and what I should wear, who will be there (my sister is on holidays with friends and my brother told me he might come but dad is unsure ???), how long it will take to go there (we're driving but I don't know for how long). He just told me "I'm picking you on Saturday, be ready". I don't even know when he is picking me on Saturday.
Until last week, he still hadn' t decided for his accomodation and he didn't know where I'd be staying (with him or with family members). So I had to give him options.
The thing that pisses me off the most, is that he was given the invite in september. And my mom saw it on the table last week. Yet he refuses to give me any details when I ask about it.
I don't even know what I should bring or wear because he still hasn't given me the dress code. You might say nobody cares but it's a wedding. I'm not going to show up in my usual outfit (overalls + sneakers).
Last night, I told him that I'm not going because I'm tired because of the lack of organization on his part
(Context : I'm also the eldest daughter and my dad relies heavily on me everytime he needs to make an appointment or to manage an event. However, he told me that this time he could handle it. I was asking questions and he would not answer or say i'll talk about it later.
Also, I have a lot of tattoos and piercings + I'm very outspoken. My family is very conservative and if one of my aunts/uncles says something negative about me, my dad usually talks to me after the event and asks if I can tone down my style or talk less because he is a bit annoyed of the way I act.
I have two big tattoos that are very visible and I know that people will talk to my dad about)
