There seems to be a lot of well-earned vitriol on the newer Xperia with the new screen and the foldable phone price-point. If I had owned an Xperia, my pitch fork would be raised as well.
Here is why the new Xperia is alluring to me, even given the price-point: it's a well-spec'd analog device that doesn't seem like the ground will be moving beneath it nor does it seem like Sony is in a fervent rush to jam AI features and ads in your face. Let me be clear, $1400 is way too much. However, in phones, in my professional life, and personal, too many products and services feel transient and unreliable. My current phone is a Pixel 6. It has been hot garbage, despite the list of things it has going for it on paper. The short version of why is that it's modem is dirt and the frequent patches often break the phone because Google cares about the newest Pixel more. The Xperia seems like a device I can keep for a while, use as an hi-res audio piggy-bank, take realistic pictures that don't have some strange AI manipulating reality (as much as other phones), and generally rely on things not to change too much. I've had high-res Samsung phones and iPhones for work. The only differences noticed in a screen so small are high refresh rates and brightness. FHD has generally been dense enough for me.
That said, Sony could take it's head out of the sand for a few points:

• No US availability mentioned, so I might not even be able to get one. Every year, their release seems like a terrible mess in terms of communication, timing, and marketing.
• $1400 is pure mental acrobatics ignorant of the current phone landscape and economy. There are objectively decent upgrades in the phone, but they are conservative and not enough to continue to ask this price.
• the Xperia 10 makes 0 sense to me, so perhaps someone can explain how they plan to sell it.

I would still buy it, though. I recently got Proton Pass and Libre office just to get some piece of mind from the made up features and "the product is you" oriented nature of services these days. The Xperia feels like a slight extension into that realm. Everything I own from Sony is generally still around my house and in use, so my hope is this would be too. But perhaps, it is the ignorance of owning previous Xperia 1s that is generating my perceived bliss.

Student background: I have a student whose name I will change to Devon for privacy purposes. He is in third grade. Repeated 2nd. He has broken every rule in the book: Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. He is physically aggressive, verbally aggressive, elopes class multiple times daily, is often disrespectful, and is very disruptive. He has used every insult you can think of and it doesn’t matter if you’re a kindergartner or adult. He has said horrible things to almost everyone, steals from other students and then aggressively smashes their things for fun, has held freshly sharpened pencils to other students’ necks and asked them if they want to die, laughs mockingly at others, doesn’t listen to authority (in fact shows defiance and refusal if you tell him anything), doesn’t do any work, the list goes on and on and on. And issues happen ALL. DAY. EVERY. DAY. Not a day goes by without incident. Collectively as a school, the specialists teachers, admin, and I have documented as much as we could and it could very well be as thick as a Harry Potter book. Every teacher and staff member at my school sympathizes and agrees that he is super challenging, and they tell me even the most veteran teachers would struggle with him.
Now, for my background: I haven’t yet received an official diagnosis for PMDD but I have received one for bipolar (which I don’t think I have but it seems that there are many other women who have been misdiagnosed with bipolar in this community prior to their PMDD diagnosis) and was one criteria away from an official ADHD diagnosis.
I also tend to show extreme hormonal sensitivity every time I start a new pack of birth control every month and show a lot of irritability and anger and other mood swings and all of that happens again like clockwork before my period. I get…ragey. It almost cost my relationship with my boyfriend of seven years multiple times in the past. I’m better at managing my emotions with my partner and family but not at work… Teachers, you know how stressful this job is. We have to wear every hat and smile through all the disrespect and overwork and little pay. But we love kids and value education and that’s why we do this.
Anyway, I learned from Devon’s dad yesterday that his mom left the family when Devon was 3 years old. He is the youngest child in the family. His dad in our meeting yesterday also said that he believes his son is constantly seeking attention (in the most negative ways) to fill in this void and that’s why he acts out. The mom has had a strong presence in the older siblings lives and barely any in Devon’s life.
So, the story is… I have showed restraint and professionalism and bit my tongue since the third month of school and we have 6 actual school days left now. I almost got fired for lashing out at Devon once before. But I’ve ignored most of his behavior since the third month of school and let admin take care of it. Also note that I’m not coming back next year since my admin didn’t renew my teaching contract for not having good classroom management. End is near, not coming back anyway, my most well-behaved kids are acting unruly, had a medical emergency and a loss in the past month, and I’ve HAD IT with Devon’s nonsense. We just started eating breakfast this morning. School just began. And already, Devon and his bff are picking a fight with one of my most well-behaved students who I’ll call Bruno. Devon’s laughing and egging my well-behaved student to fight Bruno. Then my well-behaved student who is clearly done with Devon’s nonsense gets mad and gets in Devon’s face, ready to fight. Devon says to get out of his face and I’m OVER IT. I’m thinking, “WHY DOES THIS KID CAUSE PROBLEMS EVERY DAY?! SCHOOL JUST STARTED!” I walked past him and was someone else. I just started UNLEASHING upon him everything I’ve been holding back. He’s disrespectful, he’s mean, he causes problems every day, and I ended it with “and that’s why your mom left you when you were three.”
…………Not my finest moment.
I felt horrible after and thought, “Holy moly WHAT DID I DO…? How did I let myself say something like that?”
I apologize three times to him. He looked really sad. Whole third grade staff and third grade students and admin knows. Again they sympathize but tell me it still wasn’t cool. My boyfriend, same thing. Said he sympathizes and said I was probably better off just calling him dumb and ugly.
A colleague told me since my contract is getting renewed that I should take a break from teaching for the sake of my mental health. But I don’t know what other careers to pursue that aren’t going to require tuition from a university again. I have a bachelor’s in psychology, an initial teaching license, and am struggling financially as it is. I need to make at least $50k a month to keep up with my bills.

I joined a new job after being laid off a traditional jr designer agency job, now I work in -house and I am having some difficulties with the workload. Mostly because I do not want to work more than 9-5. Is this too much to ask of someone? Here are my current duties.

• Graphic design : 2d, motion, print, UI, Social, Branding.
  
• Bespoke LED screen management, 30ish screens total, spread across 3 states, content maintenance and creation, OOH advertising management.
  
• 3D scans. (Office space)
  
• photography, office, headshots, events, photo editing. Occasionally I lead photo shoots for bigger projects when a contractor is hired
  
• videography, shot lists, video editing, color correction, sound.

I have combination skin, very oily especially on the forehead and dry skin around mouth and cheek. Currently, I’m using ma:nyo bifida biome complex ampoule + laneige water bank.
In the past, I had tried estee lauder ANR, the inkey list hyaluronic acid, neutrogena hydro boost, Cerave moisturizing lotion.
Can you pls recommend me other similar brands for serums and moisturizers? Above all are not too bad to my skin, but I really do not see any improvement after years. I also live in a tropical zone and I don’t want to use heavy moisturizers then make myself face oily.

I’m working my way through the series in no particular order and went into this one blind, I was completely taken aback by this game.
If you made a Bermuda Triangle with the Star Wars Prequels, the Lord of the Rings films, and the Final Fantasy IP, this game is in the exact center of that triangle. And you know what? It works really well.
I absolutely loved the world, more so than any other FF game so far. While I don’t think any single location can be considered best in the series, as a whole the world of Ivalice sings where others falter.
Visually, it looks pretty good for an HD polished PS2 game, though admittedly faces and mouths sometimes looked a tad goofy and the game did often fall back on its various shades of brown.
Gambits. I loved them going through the game. One thing that I struggled with in X was how miserable exploration could be with random encounters. The way this game is set up is so much better. However, by the very end of my time there, after my many hunts and additional summons acquired, the gambits were sorta locked in and solved save for upgrading spells. Not only that, but it sometimes made the game feel too easy, which makes an unfortunate amount of sense.
Hunts were great. A fantastic addition and a set of side quests with defined rules, locations, and a check list were fantastic. I did not do all of the hunts. I sorta hit a wall on the level 7 hunts so I never did that nor the one locked underneath Pharos as it was being guarded by one of those level 7 hunts.
The story was good, overall I think it could have been improved a little bit. I felt like the Undying were a late game twist that didn’t narratively pay off, and the game ends really soon after meeting them.
I’m not thrilled with the cast. Balthier was fantastic. Ashe, Fran, and Basch were okay-good. Vaan is probably the weakest protagonist of games I’ve played so far and Panello is barely a character. So many cool non-humans to choose from and we get one scantily clad rabbit?
Soundtrack was nice listening, but sometimes I felt it lacked a punch. The early phases of the final boss especially sounded like nothing special.
Overall:
This goes under the 7s but above 10 and 8. Amazing game. Super underrated.
Up next, after a non-rpg pallet cleanser, I’m thinking 15 or 9. Any input?

Just because the engineer kept saying it would happen and it happened doesn't make the engineer a whiney boy. The fact I see so many hate posts aimed at users saying the game isn't performing well a day after embark says the same thing makes my eyes roll.
It is called denial, and if your house was on fire from lemon based technology, you would get crispy if you kept flatearthing the firefighters who were trying to warn you through the window.
There were two things that needed to be fixed that we yelled from the rafters: MM and cheating. Remember, it was only recently we aren't getting bronzes in diamond lobbies by dev choice. Cheating has exploded in this game to points where I can find them listed 3rd on google searches by accident, and they talk in length about the things I see ingame on their forums (yes, they have forums where they drop coding and boast). We didn't burn you game, poor choices influenced by corporate greed and the influx of cheaters is what burnt your house down... with the lemons...

• I don't know what dating is I realize.
• Trying to Make Friends with a female to have a hang out buddy.
• Is hangout dating? My Friend Making techniques don't seem to work anymore.
• The Female I am trying to be friends with is kinda stand offish when trying to get her to hang out more.
• I kinda want to bail out of my attempts at frienship
• I am wondering if I am scaring her and that I should stop all attempts to hang out as she may be thinking I am trying to take her on dates what ever that means...

So the title says it all. I am an older male with a good number of laps around our Star out there.
And just repentantly I realize I have no clue what dating is... So clearly I don't date. Yes Yes I am one of these low experience men with a nice list of I have nevers... with a women and so on. I never have dated mainly because I don't know what that even is!!!??
But I do have female friends...about 4 and counting... but none close enough where I am willing to ask them this question and look inexperienced. I have an appearance of knowledge I need to maintain lol.
So yes help an old guy out young bucks... What the heck is dating? How does it differ from going out with someone just as friends. What more do I need to do to communicate that to her? I have said to her straight up that I am not trying to scare you off I am just trying to get to know you and see if a friendship blossoms.
I have gone to events, dinners, lunches with all of my female friends and I did not consider them dates. But are hey dates? Could that be why my new not yet friend is so stand offish about hanging out with me? I fear she fears that I will mistake her friendliness as something more.
I don't know how to convince her that I will not make that Mistake .. I mean I have said that too her as well.
My main reason for asking is that I feel my method of making a female friend is no longer working. I always let the ladies know that I am not trying to hit on them. I do that right at the start when conversation becomes a regualer thing between us.
Being up in some women's face everyday talking and laughing you easy into getting to know each other, When I hit that point I tell them Please know that I am not trying to hit on you and stuff.
Currently I am trying to make friends with a co-worker and we have hung out to 2 dinners and 4 or 6 lunches and walkabouts. We talk for hours when we hang out we talk about everything no topic is offlimits. We have a great time. We never talk on the phone or text as I don't want to invade her space. So we only talk at work if we go to lunch or on the time when we have hung out outside of work
We have been doing this for about 7 months I have said to her from the jump that I am not trying to hit on her. Just interested in getting to know her and maybe become friends.
Lunch or dinner.. those are not dates right? I don't want to send the wrong message. Part of me feels like I should just fall back and leave her alone. I truly feel that I should stop trying to ask her to hang out and stuff. I do sense some discomfort there. We are easily influenced by ideas and groupthink - much more than we would like to believe. This applies to the belief in some special supernatural ascension or New Earth.
The constant insistences that "Earth is going into a higher vibration" or "We are shifting timelines" or "The activation codes are coming" or "We feel ill because ascension causes symptoms" or "The matrix is breaking down" -- is sadly, a delusion.
I don't care if Dolores Cannon is well respected and said the Earth is splitting. I don't care if people are claiming to be in the middle of the highest form of alchemical transformation which will bring them back to the original crystalline blueprint or whatever. Unless an interdimensional being, or the higher self, literally manifests in front of us, guiding us into the various stages of some amazing process, then all we're doing is guesswork - putting a fantasy story, a fluffy narrative, to the difficult experiences many of us have on Earth.
There are many red flags within this concept of ascension:

1. Supposedly it is the individual's responsibility to get away from the "dark" and go into the "light", not once or twice, but in a constant upward trajectory throughout time or else they will miss some crucial event, or get stuck in the Old Earth. This doesn't make sense because as humans, we never remain in any one state and cannot be simplified like that. We're always in flux. A few years ago, I felt amazing - full of creativity, love, and joy . If there WAS going to be an event, I was ready! But after years of difficulty, both mental, physical and financial, I find it more difficult to tap into that state as often. My once-experienced "high vibrational state" apparently doesn't matter though - the ascension codes/DNA upgrades are coming and I better be ready! In some circles people suggest "The ascension is in you - the more you align with your True Self the more you will perceive the New Earth". So which is it? Are we in a process that's collective or personal? How can we miss the flash or event if it's up to us? And if someone embodies a beautiful state of love and light but then falls back into a "lower" state before the supposed shift, what happens then? So many contradictions and half-baked ideas.
2. There are a select few chosen ones, or lightworkers, or special souls, who came here to help the world upgrade, or alchemize themselves - OK - so we're superheroes in disguise who didn't realize this until we learned the concept from a book or Internet page that spoke to us. And now we have to do our part in raising the frequency of the planet, or destroying the matrix grid lines or finding our lost Higher Self. But where and who did we hear this from? Is there some book in the Universe which verifiably pinpoints a select few souls to be doing this job? And how are we doing this special job without a list of requirements and tasks? There's no roadmap to this other than self-styled experts and confident speakers? Instead, most of us find out about ascensional lightworker exit-the-matrix stuff from other humans who ASSUME truths and IDENTIFY with them. Who the fuck enters a job without knowing how to complete it?
3. ...But then people will say "We were given free will to integrate the upgrades or not" or "We are trapped souls who forgot we're on a mission". So if we can forget we're on a mission, or if we're able to get lost in the sauce of humanity, then how effective or intelligent is this ascension? Who's steering the wheel? Without instructions and without having a roadmap on how to navigate, how can anyone do their part?
4. There is a long list of purported ascension symptoms from dizziness to chronic pain to depression to acne, etc. Let's face it - Being a human means dealing with bad air, food and water quality. We get stressed. We make mistakes and it all impacts our bodies. Almost everyone is in imperfect health, whether they're a child or adult. Go to any video on ascension symptoms and you'll see hundreds of people claiming their imperfect health is proof, or the result, of some amazing cosmic showdown happening behind the scenes. How about, we're all aging? Or its common for everyone to undergo health struggles at some point? Most of us didn't grow up on the greatest lifestyles and even now, with all of this wifi and loneliness and worldwide distress - how can we expect our health not to be affected? The denial is astounding. Which leads me to...
5. The justification of suffering as means for future pleasure. This is not much different from the Christian idea that suffering in Christ is noble and leads to heaven. People repeat, as if its untouchable wisdom: "Things only look like they're getting worse on Earth because the darkness is finally coming to light to be cleansed!" or "You're feeling bad because your shadow needs to be transmuted to accept the activation codes!" How do we know? How can anyone say such grandiose statements with confidence? Seriously, what is up with this demeanor people have of evaluating the situation perfectly and speaking in a conclusive, all-knowing fashion? Who told you the darkness is coming to the light for a future New Earth? Another human? A channeling session? A published book from an author who we think has direct access to God? Again, unless we are shown without a shred of doubt, in supernatural fashion, that the negative events on Earth are a result of a coming shift, who are we to speak for the Universe?

It's hard being human and accepting how broken everything is or can be - so we would rather huddle together and attach ourselves to the idea that we suffer for the sake of some great future. Which, of course, goes against some teachings that claim the present is all that exists. Leaders will even simultaneously say "Stay in the present, it's the best way to be apart of this shift" AND "The Event is coming at some point in the future, so be prepared".
Not to mention - the idea of ascension and a New Earth comes from a particular biblical idea of rapture, which is actually a Protestant idea that developed after many sects of Christianity formed.
I have befriended and met many who hold these ideas near and dear to them. Most of them have very messy lives and minds. Those most attracted to the New Earth fanaticism want to escape. I understand! I would love it if we woke up in a world free of limitation and ugliness too. Instead of believing in New Earth, I just accept Earthly life is difficult and will never be anything other than what it's been - a contrast of energies, dualities, opposites.
I think we are dealing with "Apocalyptic madness". Things are weird on Earth - REALLY weird. Many things currently happening seem unexplainable. So many keep stating over and over again "It's the end!" "Something's coming!" "Just a bit longer" whether it's the return of Jesus or a sublime DNA activation or destruction of evil. Maybe this is just Earth. Crazy, normal, weirdo Earth.
Thoughts? Do you agree? Do I just not get it and maybe there's a Pleadeian starseed out there who can teach me how wrong I am?

After I discovered my husband’s affair, his affair partner LOST IT when he “broke up” with her the next day. She launched a series of emotional attacks on me, including having her friends DM my Facebook friends list including my relatives, coworkers, etc to humiliate me. She had her mother call me on the phone and scream at me and insult me. She hired an attorney and lied in court documents that she filed against me (attempted a restraining order against me) saying I was stalking her. (I have never laid eyes on her in person, I have only seen her in the naked pornographic videos of herself she sent to my husband that I found.) If the judge had actually believed her lies, it would have jeopardized my career and employability to have that on my record, which was terrifying when I was faced with getting divorced and having to fully support myself (one income household is rough these days as we all know).
She inflicted so much additional stress and damage onto me during the lowest, most traumatic and unstable time of my life. I was blindsided by my DDay and it destroyed me in so many ways. Dealing with her craziness and emotional attacks on top of everything nearly broke me. I do believe she was trying to get me to hurt myself. I definitely considered it.
I know she is a mentally ill woman. I mean, she was performing oral sex on her married coworker directly beside of a dumpster for months while engaged. She is diagnosed bipolar. Suffers from anorexia. Serially cheated on her fiancé with more guys than just my husband. I guess I just don’t understand why she came after ME so hard. She tried to ruin and destroy my marriage. She initiated the affair. I’ve read it all, where he initially turned her down several times and she escalated and started sexting him and pressuring him to meet up and then she gave him oral sex the first time they ever met up.
But Why did she hate me so much? Why did she try to ruin my life even more after my husband ended their affair? I just don’t understand how a person I never met in my life could purposely cause so much harm to me. He broke up with her and she came after ME?
My husband said she used to “stalk” my instagram and make comments to him about anything I posted such as if I posted where we went out to dinner or if we took our dog to the park or went on a vacation, etc. And she would complain how jealous she was. But how is any of that my fault??? She knew him for 10 months before she seduced him for fun. She chose to seduce a married man. I had nothing to do with her choice. Like; what the heck did I do to deserve a complete stranger I’ve never met to try to destroy everything I’ve worked for in my life (my career, my marriage, my financial situation, my home, my safety). What motivates these “other women” to think they are entitled to swoop in and “steal” someone else’s husband and lifestyle?
Anyway, I do realize this post is very blaming of the AP and not so much of my husband. Trust me when I say I very much blame him and hold him responsible for his choice and willingness to continually betray me. This post is more about after discovery. After discovery, this woman acted like SHE was the victim and I was the bad guy. It made no sense. Whereas,After Dday, my husband has completely done everything humanly possible to try to heal himself and repair our marriage including impatient treatment for pornography addiction, weekly individual therapy, weekly group therapy, etc. He never blamed me. He took full accountability and continues to do so.

Hello! I'm currently working under my geography professor for a project where we build an app where we can catalog all our rocks and minerals, since we have a collection of those and would like to make all of them available to every student in the school. We've started building the application in Unity because of a recommendation from a friend of my professor, but I've been facing some difficulties with Unity due to C# being a more difficult language for me and no built-in support for things like database reading. We also believe the app will be too heavy in Unity due to clutter from all the Unity functions we won't use such as 3D graphics, colliders, etc.
Because of this, we are thinking about converting our application from Unity to Python (Flet+Pandas, specifically, since we need to handle databases in a way we don't need to use the Internet). We believe it will be way lighter and easier to maintain, since Python is way more readable than C# and easier to get started with.
My main concern, though, is making the application adapt to all screen sizes. I could do that easily in Unity with anchors, but I don't know if Flet has anything built-in to handle that. Is there? If not, is there a way to make it happen by coding it manually?

I am looking for some advice on potential career options/alternative paths. Recently I was accepted into a medical school but am heavily considering not attending (have decided to defer matriculation by a year, just in case I change my mind, but it seems very unlikely that I will). Long story short, I applied to medical school after graduating with a degree in economics and chemistry. I got really into EMS and volunteering/working as an EMT. I liked it so much that I decided to further my career in medicine by applying to medical school. However, as time went on, I got extremely burnt out responding to 911 calls and was unable to disconnect. What I was seeing on these calls would often be bother me for days and I would not be able to sleep and eat. While I could most likely find ways to cope with this, I do not think that I will ever be able to disconnect fully during cadaver lab, clinical rotations in the hospital, and residency. I know that I would be able to handle the workload during medical school as I truly feel happiest when I am learning/in school/have a lot of work to do. Despite knowing that I can make it through medical school and find ways to cope with my anxieties around clinical experience, I do not think that means that I should do it. My plan if I did make it through medical school was to pursue a residency in occupational and environmental medicine and explore nonclinical career paths (whether that be consulting or something else). For some context, I absolutely LOVED studying for the MCAT. I enjoyed organic chemistry and biochemistry the most.
So, I am looking into alternative career paths that would incorporate the parts of studying medicine that I really enjoy with a less "in your face" clinical aspect. I do enjoy patient interviewing, maybe it's the problem-solving aspect that I like the most. I like taking medical history, hearing about lab values, and trying to figure out what's going on.
Some things that I have been looking into are 1. Pharmacy. Have gotten a little scared about how a lot of pharmacists are saying that they hate their jobs and that the market is completely oversaturated. A little worried about the debt-to-income ratio. I like that there are options to work as an MSL, or in biotech, etc. I know that it is not a research degree, but I know some pharmacists have the ability to work in research, which I like potentially having the option.

1. Optometry. This seems really interesting, and I like learning about lenses, but obviously there's more to the career than that. I would need to shadow optometrists. But I feel like optometry kind of limits the type of work that I can do, and I feel like not a lot of optometrists function in MSL roles, non-clinical settings, or research?
   
2. Law & continuing my education in economics: worried that this will not be as fulfilling because I might miss the science aspect. But I know that patent law is also a thing so I might still be able to incorporate any science interests into law practice. If I went this route, I would also continue to pursue interests in economics as I really enjoy economic development. I only started looking into this option more seriously recently, but a lot of my university professors would tell me that I should be a lawyer because I wrote really strong analytical papers and examined text well.
   

I hope that this post doesn't come off as me being all over the place and not able to make up my mind, I am definitely bummed about not attending medical school and feel as if I am mourning the path where I thought my life was going. Overall, I am excited about other potential opportunities. I have a lot of interests and want to make a good choice given that I'm turning down a really huge opportunity. Are there any other career options that I should look into? Any advice on the ones that I listed? Any advice is greatlyyyyyyy appreciated!!!!!

I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong I put it near the bottom of my mod list but every time I pick half ghoul or Google or any of the alternate faces that come with the mod aside from the second half ghoul it crashes after I finish character creation. Does anybody else have this problem?
