2024.05.16 18:18 kirby_farris Did they violate the Pregnancy Fairness Act?? Help!!
Basic info: I work at a warehouse in KY and found out I was pregnant 3 weeks ago. Went to the doctor and got a note with restrictions and an accomodation. Not allowed to lift over 20 pounds, no overtime, chair provided to work from seated position. Received these because of family medical history.
When I first found out I knew I was going to have limitations due to family medical history. I told my employer the day I found out. A week later I was placed in a position with more physical duties and heavier lifting for the day. I told my boss I did not feel comfortable doing heavy work while pregnant due to medical history and explained a little further. I was told I needed a doctors note to confirm before they could do anything and to just "take it easy". The rest of the week i was incredibly exhausted and my body hurt from head to toe. Anyone who's been pregnant before knows it takes a while to get that first doctors appointment so i had a few weeks left until i could get a note.
I finally had my appointment yesterday and my doctor gave me a note for accomodations. I requested for a chair to sit when im having cramps or when im starting to feel light headed. When I returned to work with my note they told me that I had to clock out and leave because I cannot work until I get a "Fitted for duty" form filled out by my doctor and my accomodations go to their "board" and they can see if they can do it or not. No other pregnant woman in the building has had this happen to them. I know that they denied a chair before or made it difficult to get their accommodations but they put me on unpaid leave until i get that paper filled out, despite my doctors note. They have plenty of other jobs in the warehouse as well like returns, where no boxes are heavier than 15 pounds, and VAS which is just rebagging and security tagging, etc. Plenty of work I can do but they sent me home and told me I cant come back without being approved by their board. They then told me that if I am not approved I would have to go on short term disability, use up all of my fmla and then once thats exhausted I "wont have a job". I have been reading up on the pregnancy fairness act so I know my rights and in all honesty it sounds pretty illegal what they have been putting me though. now I have to struggle to get money to pay rent and afford food while they keep me on unpaid leave. Could anyone help me figure out what I should do or if I should file a charge with the EEOC? Also, if I were to file a charge with them does anyone know what will happen and if I could get compensated for the time they forced me to leave and possibly emotional distress? thank you!!

2024.05.16 18:17 MoipaZ Altering PC Inputs
Hello fellow world-runners,
I've got a question about the joint world-building inherent in this game. For context, I have spent roughly two years building a developing a homebrew world, complete with creation, ancient history, empires rising and falling, a custom pantheon, a world map, the works (I also have no life).
I've just started bringing in friends to play in this world, and I'm curious what you all think about how to handle their ideas. I asked for some story points from their history in order to build out the world, add in the details, but some of their tuff isn't quite jiving with what I already have. Generally, I think I'm leaning lenient on adding stuff, but I'm still afraid of stepping on toes when changing what they give me. For example:
- A guy said he's from a prestigious university in a particular city; I told him that city is Tortuga; we moved the university to different a city, he was cool with it.
- On the other hand, a guys gives me a list of names for elves he's friends with; I already have a naming convention set up for elves and these aren't it; I what to change the names is his friends, meshing what he gave into my naming convention.
What do you all think about this? Is there a line too far to cross in changing the things they gave me, and also that I explicitly asked for? Would love the insight.

2024.05.16 18:14 Coginthewheel1 Foot reflexology 2 days before the race - good or bad idea?
My race is in 2 days. It’s point to point with 4000+ descent. Last week,I was clocking 5000 ascent and descent. My calves were a bit tight and 2 of my toes were a bit numb.
I got a deep tissue massage last week to loosen the calves and I can feel my toes again, however, I still feel the tightness (not painful or anything - it’s just the regular sore feeling when you have hard uphill/downhill).
I feel like a good foot massage might help to loosen it up a bit but I keep reading that it’s a bad idea to get a massage so close to the race. What do you think? I feel a good foot reflexology rejuvenates the legs and speeds up recovery. Have you done this before?

2024.05.16 18:06 flappurgirl SM Wholesale: review of "WOMEN'S ARMY CORP (WAC) WWII SERVICE OXFORDS" after 4 months of wear
I am a young woman who dresses in 1940's style every week. American Duchess, a popular historical and vintage footwear brand, had unfortunately just sold out of their "Claire's" oxfords in my size. (Brown Italian leather lace ups with a walkable stacked leather heel, claimed to be compliant with most women's dress shoe regs of the day.) I also found the remains of what once was the "All Heels on Duty" women's WWII shoes repro site. Most of their shoes are sold out, and their customer service did not respond, so I assume they're only selling deadstock. I was determined to find an available WAC's style shoe in real leather. I found the Facebook page of a WAC reenacting group, and sure enough one beautiful woman linked this pair (along with other uniform items) from SM Wholesale! The shoes were on sale for $165, and so I had to get them! Here is my review after 4 months. The heel is short enough to walk around my college campus all week, but not so short as to look like a copy of menswear. I will warn you that the leather is hard at first and will have a breaking in period of 14 days. Don't ignore this, or the shoes will break in you! (My toe bled.) Wear thick socks until they become more supple! From the start, the size 8 pair fit me perfectly!* These shoes are darling and even look flawless combined with knee-length skirts and dresses, as well as trousers and my Freddie's of Pinewood 1940's jeans! I just love polishing leather shoes. It's like brushing your teeth: they'll look better and last longer. These shoes come matte, but with a couple layers of quality polish (I use Angelus brand) they shine like candy! Since the A.D. Claire's are back in stock, I may get them specifically for swing dancing, friend dates, and formal looks because of their feminine flair and slightly taller heel; but for my everyday strolls and work shifts, SM Wholesale's WAC shoes take the cake!

2024.05.16 18:05 Sisyphus8841 Preserving tires driving to track - best PSI?
Hi, heavy car Mac struts front that tend to cord tires. >3 neg camber front. 0 toe. Conti ECF tires, soft to medium stiffness sidewall (for a track tire). Run 37ish hot on track (31ish ambient).
For extended drives to track, will 40 psi warm preserve inner shoulder more, or is it better to keep pressures on the lower side to distribute load across tire? My thought is the former, to avoid a lot of shoulder squirm. REALLY concerned about cording inners prematurely on the street (only driven to/from track max 120mi)
Thanks!

2024.05.16 18:01 uScooter HCR2 Calculator with Hoverbike
I hope I'm not stepping on anyone toes here, costica1234 has done a great job creating this calculator. I asked for permission to post this update 3 weeks ago but I didn't get a response from him. So I thought I would go ahead and post it.
I added the hoverbike and some vehicle completion analysis that was helpful for me to decide which vehicles I can or would like to completely upgrade. So I thought I would include it.
Here's the instructions on how to use this spreadsheet.
Download the template using the link below.
The vehicle order is the same as the previous versions of the calculator. This will make it easier to update from an existing spreadsheet as one needs to simply copy a rectangle block, B3:AC29 and paste special, values only instead of entering the data in individual rows.
If the Hoverbike is owned, check the box in column B and add the values of the parts owned for the hoverbike.
Verify that your Garage Power matches the value in cell AM31. If it does not match, compare each vehicle power to column AM and correct the parts and level accordingly.
Columns AO thru AQ are for vehicle completion analysis and will populate automatically. It is not in Fingersoft's best interest to help you track your vehicle completion, which is why I added these last four columns.
Column AO shows the amount of coins needed to completely upgrade a vehicle. If the background is red it means that not all the legendary parts are owned for the vehicle and cannot be completely upgraded. So the value of coins is irrelevant and is incorrect until all for the legendary parts are owned for the vehicle and it also effects the ranking in column AQ. So if AO's background is red, it is best to not consider this vehicle for a complete upgrade at this time. It is also a flag to tell you to watch for legendary parts when they become available for this vehicle and try to purchase them with gems or win them in Public Events.
Column AP is a dense rank based on garage power to show what vehicle is closest to being completely upgraded. It does not show the lowest value of scrap needed or cost. So (IMHO) this rank is secondary compared to the next column but is good to know.
Column AQ is a dense rank based on the lowest cost to completely upgrade a vehicle. Just remember if column AO is red, the cost is irrelevant because not all legendary parts are owned for this vehicle.
Column AR is for building scenario's and goal setting. For scenario building, let's say you a sitting on a large pile of coins and scrap and want to know how many vehicles can be completely upgraded with the resources you have available or based on rankings. Check boxes on vehicles you wish to completely upgrade and view the sum of coins and scrap needed in Rows 31 and 32 to help figure out the most efficient way to spend your resources. To set goals, let's say you a sitting on a small pile of coins and scrap and want to completely upgrade a certain vehicle. Check the box on that vehicle you wish to completely upgrade and view the sum of coins and scrap needed in Rows 31 and 32 and work towards that goal.
I know this was a long post but I hope it helps.
See you on the track,

I noticed this morning he is missing a toe, and it was not like that last night before I went to bed (second picture for reference). I feel so awful, I searched his whole tank and couldn’t even find the toe. I don’t know what happened or went wrong. Could it have been the reptile carpet? Is there anything I need to/can do to treat his little stub? Any help is appreciated, I feel terrible and I’m kind of freaking out submitted by njaysive to leopardgeckos [link] [comments] |
2024.05.16 17:57 Felicity_Calculus Want to go back to dance but have some health issues
So I used to dabble in Larin dance about 25 years ago and I loved it. I’m thinking of going back but I’ve developed a couple of health issues that I fear might make it impossible.
The major issue is that I have a problem with my right foot: basically, I can’t really bend my right big toe joint without pain. I have to wear shoes with rigid soles for this reason (I can wear a low wedge heel if it has a stiff sole). I can put weight on my foot normally as long as I have the right shoes on.
I have some minor balance issues. Nothing really out of the ordinary for an older person (I’m 54), but I don’t think I can do a LOT of spinning, for example.
I’m thin and fit and in good shape otherwise. Would basic Latin dance be a non-starter for me? I just want to do it for fun and exercise. I have tried dancing at home to test things out and it seems more or less OK, but it’s obviously not the same thing as dancing with a partner.
Do any of you have recommendations for shoes, ways to try this out, etc? I’ve though out just taking a sample class somewhere but I worry that I’d feel really nervous and self-conscious at this point for all the above reasons :(

2024.05.16 17:44 web-cyborg CUSTOM SHORTCUT settings? is it only available on MACs?? (see link)
Why did they remove the custom shortcuts settings? Or is it only available on MACs?
This is a problem as I use hotkeys tied to buttons on my numpad style mouse and my stream deck.
For example, many apps use Ctrl+S to invoke the SAVE menu, so that is confusing with the ARC browser's Ctrl+S being assigned to the show/hide side bar function.
Apparently, macs get customize keys functionality. I realize macs are fundamentally different but this is a big snag for me in how I operate my shortcuts across apps.
Ctrl+S is a pretty common one as far as stepping on other hotkey toes goes.
Using the arrow keys with the "spaces" changing also get's overtaken by the time slider on video sites. So if you hit Ctrl+Alt+left arrow for example, it'll just back the video up a moment instead of changing "spaces" on the side bar.
I'd be happy if I could Add another shortcut to show/hide the side bar even, and to the spaces, etc. so at least I could control them without triggering other hotkeys. There are chrome extensions that allow you to set up shortcuts but they don't have the arc bar's unique functions, e.g. for sidebar or places changing in their drop down menus.
(I can get around the places one by using alt+1, alt+2 etc in a multi-stage button press hotkey setup on my devices though at least).

2024.05.16 17:32 teamarxx Ozempic and Gout
Hi there,
I started ozempic (the generic one) on Tuesday of last week and had a gnarly flare up on the top of foot with three toes starting on Friday and ended up in urgent care on Sunday with medicine. It went away by Tuesday. I did my second shot on Tuesday night and then woke up at 3am with horrific big toe pain.
I wrote my doctor and started the antibiotics again but I wanted to know if anyone has heard of ozempic causing a gout flare up. Mind you I have only had a few flare ups my whole life. Starting on my 21st bday from all of the sweet drinks 🙃
Thank you!!

2024.05.16 17:30 tellmetellmeitstrue Choosing between two very different programs 9U
So, my son plays on a AA 9U team. We have had some issues with the current coaching staff but we have addressed them and they seem to be getting better. To be fair, the staff is new and it is obvious they have tried several things that didn't work and have adjusted course as the year progressed. They are not perfect but my kid really loves the head coach. Anyway, he has played as a guest player several times for another AA team. I am pretty sure if he wants a spot on that team, he will have one.
Existing Team:
Pros:
- He knows the team and the coaches and is in a good spot for playing time and batting order. I don't see that changing next year.
- The team was an all new team with only a couple of players with travel experience. They struggled early but I can really tell they are getting better now.
- There is a good core of families. There are a couple of outliers but I think they will likely be gone next year.
- Even though we have had some coaching issues, I feel my son has progressed greatly over the last year
- This program has a nifty indoor facility, with an outdoor turf field and we can practice year-round. In our first year, we have averaged two practices a week for all but December and that was a break month for the team.
- We have minimal daddy ball.
Cons:
- This team is the third 9U team in the organization. The way I understand it after tryouts, the A team will send out offers and wait for answers, then the B team, then us. I'm not sure that the A and B teams will have many spots to fill and there is a chance that we will get second pick over the B team. I know we will have 2-3 spots to fill next year. Two of them are just not great players and I'm sure someone else will either not play next year or go somewhere else. I'm concerned as to who we will get having to wait on two other teams to pick.
- We have had some coaching issues where they have been too hard and negative on the kids. I had a talk with the coaching staff and it seems like things are getting better there.
- We don't hit in practice. I'm not a baseball guy but I find this odd. We will every now and then do a live hitting drill where the coach pitches and kids hit while the team fields but that is few and far between. The coaches have explained that we should be working on hitting away from the team on our own or in lessons. We do take weekly lessons but the team really struggles to hit. We have 3 players hitting over .300, 4 more hitting between .200 and .300 and the remaining 5 are below .200. I'm not sure if this is because we don't hit in practice or not.
- We normally don't do stations in practice. We have 2-3 coaches there and they have the whole team doing the same drill. I just don't think it's as efficient as it could be. Several dads have volunteered to help and they have been turned down.
Other Team:
Pros:
- He loves the kids on this team and they love him. Not sure why, but he really connects with these kids. I'm assuming some of it is because he is a "guest" player and I'm assuming it would likely change if he was full time on the team.
- Even though this is another AA team, it is more talented than his current team. They are also an all new team but they are the only 9U team in this organization. I'm assuming they have a deeper pool to choose from.
- This program is slightly cheaper. Money isn't a huge concern though
- This is a pro and a con. The team doesn't practice year-round. They have access to turf fields but I'm assuming they don't do much during the winter.
- Parents all seem really nice. I can't detect any drama.
Cons:
- Looks like there are 3-4 coaches (all dads) on this team. It doesn't really feel like daddy ball. The head coach's kid hit in the middle of the line up and splits time between 3rd, catcher and the outfield. I'm sure my kid will get plenty of playing time but it scares me having so many dads.
- I see that the coaches are easier and nicer to my kid (I'm assuming because he is a guest player). I know this will change if he joins their team.
- My son hits leadoff for his current team. He would probably be in the middle of the pack on this team.
- As I said above, they don't practice as much. Don't know if this is a pro or a con?
- This is the big one. My kid tried out for this team last year. They told me that they were having "workout" sessions before tryouts and invited him to come out. At this point, he had only had one Spring of baseball. He came to the workout and I thought he did pretty good. After, the coach told me that they would be having more workouts and he was welcome to come. I reached out to him several times to see if they would be having workouts and he kept telling me that they were trying to line one up and he would let me know. At the actual tryouts, it was obvious to me and my kid that they were not interested in him. They were not really watching him and were not writing anything down. I found out later that they had continued to have the workouts but I guess they had just written my kid off.
I think they were just trying to be nice and not offend me by saying they were not interested in him. To be fair, my son has progressed tremendously in the last year. He is a different player now.

2024.05.16 17:27 Fredasa What staples of the Fallout universe do you hope will make appearances / be fleshed out better in S2?
I'll list off the ones I'm thinking about right now, to get the ball rolling.
- Pip-Boy radio. This felt like a missed opportunity to me, in all honesty. A moment or two of Lucy listening in on a local broadcast would have done wonders to clarify that 40s/50s (and I guess early 60s) music really is all they have to listen to in this world. Rather than it being a potentially baffling choice of soundtrack BGM to uninitiated audiences.
- Super Mutants and Deathclaws. To be clear, I get the reasoning behind saving these for later, and I agree. The series worked fine without them so it might have been unnecessary clutter. But on the other hand, they are ubiquitous in the franchise and their absence is felt.
- Protectrons and the other staple robots. But Protectrons in particular. I'm already wondering if they're afraid of stepping on some Lost in Space or Forbidden Planet toes.
- Energy weapons. Moldaver was spotted holding a laser rifle, but as far as I remember, not a single person ever fired a single energy weapon. Not even the BoS. Unfortunately, if they now suddenly appear in season 2, it'll feel like some new gimmick from out of the blue. I wouldn't blame audiences for wondering if the series has suddenly gone all Star Wars on them.
- Real feral ghouls. Not, you know, zombies. Ghouls that have been feral for so long that they've long since lost their clothing, look emaciated, really don't look conspicuously like actors in masks, and maybe even come in varieties like they do in the games.
- Dungeon crawling. By which I mean exploring the interior of a proper ruins that comprise more than a single room, and with dangers to deal with.
- Music without lyrics—"production music." There was an instrumental song used in season 1: Theme From A Summer Place. But what I'm really talking about is production music. The kind of tune that never saw wide circulation and is essentially forgotten until a Fallout soundtrack digs it up. FO3 had a bunch of these: Boogie Man, Swing Doors, Rhythm for You. Not every BGM has to have singing.
- Fat-Man. I'm singling this out because it would be awesome. As long as they get the mini-nuke explosion right, by which I mean the blinding white light arrives in the very millisecond that the bomb detonates, just like how they do in episode 1 when the bombs fall.

2024.05.16 17:25 Ok-Nefariousness6245 Buying Shares in Property
Fractional investing: many renters will never own their own home outright but what about dipping a toe in and buying shares in a property?
If a property is carved up into many shares and then securitized, the number may be based on how many shareholders are willing to put money into the home. That could be 10, 20, or more. For homes that are a purely financial investment, properties could be sliced up into any number of shares and sold to investors.
Why shouldn’t renters enjoy the spoils of the market? They’re already working so hard to pay off someone else’s mortgage

2024.05.16 17:23 raspberriijam 24/7 fatigue, cold sweats, raynauds, low blood sugar…. the list goes on.
I’m 21F and 5’0” and 105 lbs, and I’m really wondering what’s going on with me. I have a plethora of mental and physical symptoms. My parents never had health insurance (we still don’t) so I never really went to the doctor growing up. I know this isn’t great news, but I have an interview today and am getting insurance ASAP if all goes well.
I’m including mental illnesses in the diagnosis because I’ve heard that sometimes they manifest physically, so I’m just covering my bases.
“Symptoms”:
- constant diarrhea. has been happening for over a year now, and is daily. but i’m not bloated or gassy, i just get some pain and sudden urges to go. no weight gain/loss either.
- blood sugar problems. (we assume.) if i don’t eat every few hours, I start to shut down. I get weak, my head is extra foggy, I start sweating and shivering, and I get super nauseous. This can be anywhere from 2-5 hours after a meal. It usually happens in the day, but it happened in the middle of the night this week and I collapsed on my bedroom floor with my poor husband pressing cold objects to my skin to cool me because i was burning up.
- extreme temperature sensitivity. It goes both ways. If it’s above 75°, my vision blurs and sometimes goes black. I don’t sweat, I just start getting weak and dizzy and disoriented (and angry.) If it’s below 70° inside or below 50° outside, my toes and half of my foot goes completely numb and turns white. (Raynauds). I also just shiver the entire time, even indoors.
- constant fatigue and brain fog.
- no appetite or libido at all. i actually get nauseous at the idea of food, no matter how much i love it.
- air hunger. i’m always yawning and feel out of breath. my friends for years have noticed how fast my breaths are, and my heart.
- coat hanger pain. this one is VERY SPECIFIC, and probably my earliest symptom besides raynauds. sitting or standing, most days i have such severe pain between my shoulders and neck on the left side that i just walk around holding it, massaging it, trying to ease it.
Diagnoses (and suspected/mentioned ones by other people i’ve talked with and researched with, which i’ll label):
- Raynauds
- POTS (suspected)
- IBS-D (suspected)
- Hyperthyroidism (mentioned)
- Hypoglycemia (mentioned)
- Anxiety
- Bipolar Disorder
- Autism (suspected)
- ADHD (suspected)
- OCD (mentioned)
I had blood work done for EVERYTHING in January and all of my levels were somewhere in the middle of the normal range.
I talked to a doctor online 4 times before I left my job and she prescribed me Lexapro and Wellbutrin to try and ease my anxiety (because it may be the cause of my diarrhea). The medications did not work for me at all, they had absolutely no affect on anything.
