After YEARS of trying to reproduce historical hairdos with pins and hairspray, hair sewing has been a total revelation. I thought it'd be too difficult, but it's perfectly doable on your own head. I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about sewing on their own hair, but it just works.
Does everyone just know about this and no one told me? Why have I wasted so many hours trying to get 50 pins in my hair when a single piece of tape will do a better job?
Anyway if anyone finds themselves in my situation, with long heavy hair that just won't stay up. try hair sewing.

Since most of you guys are sharing your wholesome moments so here's mine:
Normally, I travel through Govt. buses to get to my school, but due to exams, the institution had arranged buses for all the batch-mates to maintain uniformity.
So, all of us went through that bus to college, everyone was nervous 'cause none of us had taken practical classes seriously. Later, we gave the exam, it went quite better that what we'd expected.
On the way back, it was evening and it was slowly getting dark. I live very far away from my school and thus I was the last one to be dropped. I had fun all along the way but, one-by-one everyone got off and I was all alone on the last seat.
I had sneaked a mobile phone to the school and since I still had half an hour 'til I reach my stop, I plugged in my earphones and played some songs (what a peaceful day it was). Though I said I was all alone, there were a few girls sitting in the front seats. I was friends with them but not so close to talk regularly.
So, I was jamming to the music and 10 minutes pass by and a girl gets up from her seat and sits in front of me, at this point, only two of us were left in the bus (apart from the driver). She was from my old school and we're good friends back then (even now).
She turns back and asks me if I'd lend her my phone to call her mother to come and pick her up. I said okay and let her use my phone, she called her mom and her mom asked her to wait for a few minutes 'til she reached the bus-stop. (I could hear them talk 'cause it was quite AF)
Then, she thanked me and whilst returning back my phone, she peeked into my phone and gave me a surprised pikachu face. I was confused but she didn't even hesitate to play the song that I was listening to (that too on speakers).
Now, Chipi Chipi Chapa Chapa Dubi Dubi Daba Daba was playing on maximum volume and she started laughing (in a good way though) and I was embarrassed 'cause I'm that Sakt Launda in front of anyone else out of my close friends circle. Then, I snatched my phone from her and asked her to stop (she didn't).
Now it was quite dark and I thought of getting off at her stop and waiting 'til her mom arrives and I did so. I got off at her stop and acted as if I was off for some business. She noticed and being a filter-less girl she always is, she asked me to wait 'til her mom comes.
Her mom calls back and says that it'd take her few more minutes to arrive so, we were waiting. Then, as playful as she always is, she grabs the phone from my hand and starts surfing on my playlists. She said that our music tastes match a lot and then she added some of her favorite songs to my playlist.
Then we waited, with the music playing on maximum volume 'til her mom arrived. Her mom gave me a shoulder-pat as a thank you and she gave a lovely smile as a good-bye.
Now, it's been months since it happened and we're good friends doing lame stuff of sending memes and songs to each other, and out of all the girls (and people) I've interacted, she's one of those few who understands and laughs at my humor.
TL;DR: OP's had a fair bit of female (and human) interaction but still acts/rants as if he had none.

First of all, very lack luster and I must say these men are so wrong for this. How are you not absolutely enchanted by Pen, she is stunning. This man could not cae less, he is glancing because everyone else is. The other man beside him is literally glancing at Colin because his reaction is SO OBVIOUS LMAO!!! Let's just start by saying these men are dumn. They're absolutely NOT VALID TO BE LOOKING AT HER THIS WAY because Pen is so cute and endearing even tho she is awkward but like they are so put off by the way she is acting. There is no endearment here. She is just some weird woman who is trying and failing to speak to them with Colin just watching and... smiling like a dork? lmao
I think there will be much more of this in the first 2 episodes, but it is just so clear how much he feels for her. He is always the one staring at her in happiness and wonder when everyone else is either uninterested, put off, or ignoring her outright. Colin has always seen her. I cannot WAIT to see him after their kiss absolutely going batshit crazy with longing and yearning for Pen while she is courting Lord Debling. We've already seen some of his stares and I am so here for it!

I [24F] have just lost my granddad in February...and it's been the hardest thing ever. He's been all I've ever known. My one constant in my life. Couldn't really depend on my parents. I lost my grandmother when I was 7...so all these years it's been just my granddad and I...and others in the family...but with so much family drama, it really felt like it was just my granddad and I.
Well, after he passed...I truly realized how alone I was. I didn't have anyone in my corner. Not even my parents. Not genuinely anyway. They're the kind to only care because they expect to benefit in future or give me smth or check up on me only because they want smth done or to ensure that they check in on me enough to ... well...be there enough that when they're old...I'll be the one to look after them...not sure if that makes sense. but after that, they've been abusive all my life. Stopping financial support when i didn't agree with something (when i was a teen), punishments were to stop me from going to school to get an education...that kind of thing. I would be absent from school as a punishment or my tuition would not be paid as a punishment.
My granddad footed the bill for as long as possible. till he had nth left because his kids...well...didn't make anything of themselves...just too busy having fun...
Well...i lost him months before i could graduate and finally take care of him like he deserves.
Anyway, today i realized that...I'm finding it really hard with them. yes, I'm still grieving and ik that's normal

today i was humming a tune, decided to search up the song then when i listened to it...it made me think of a particular hairstyle and outfit (idk why...my brain just works that way)...and so i did some researching and realized....my favorite dances, songs, genre of music, hairdos...are all from the 60s...my grandparent's era.
and while ik it's totally normal to have these likes because they raised me and i'd be more well versed with music they'd always listen to, since i grew up listening to it too...rn, i can't help like feel like idk who i am
I am a 24 yr old who couldn't care less about...all these trends people my age are into. I've always felt out of place because of it. not that i was never allowed to try out things from my generation...i did...i just never quite liked it.

Life is already unbearable as it is without them. They were my only family. I have my own friends who have their own lives and i don't want to bother them with this type of things because i feel that they'll either call me dramatic or just ...not get it...

i just chose to stick beside them and follow them and like their shadow because...i loved them so much and...never had a relationship with my own parents. also, only child. I had playmates and playdates etc. overtime that stopped because my mom or aunt would do things that would cause our family to be ostracized like ruining people's weddings or stealing for people...
and although my grandfather was a respected man in our community, he could only clean up after them so long, so he decided for us to retire to the country so he could be in peace (ofc mom followed and things weren't peaceful any longer)
but yes...realizing all this...that all my likes and that I'm just a replica of my grandparents or have unknowingly grown to like things they liked without even realizing it...I'm faced with so many questions
should i become my own person? am i my own person? am i overreacting?

Tldr; I was suggested a “mother of two” reel on instagram and it brought up all of the feels. For once I think mom life could allow me to have youthful energy, be pretty, and have fun, three things my narc/enabler mother vehemently prevented me from expressing.
The rest of the post (for those interested, or who can relate): Now, I usually skip past these or hide them. I do NOT enjoy family/mom content and I also resent that it is suggested to me. But, something about this account in particular got to me. For once, I felt like this was a glimpse of what mother life could look like for me, and it seemed fun, genuinely full of love, and also in a non-pretentious, not-preachy way. There were barely any moody, diary style videos, mostly just fun little 10 second skits, either entirely featuring the mom or sometimes her smiling kids and husband in the second half of the skit. (In other words, I got the vibe that they were happy participants in mom’s shenanigans, if involved. I did not see tired looks like it was their fourth, fifth, twentieth take.)
I am an adult child of a narc/enabler mother and uBPD father. My whole family has issues. I never really wanted kids, and yet I also have also given myself permission to occasionally explore what a happy life with a husband and kids could potentially look like. I usually quickly end up I tears and I stop.
Well, this mother was one of those “looks like she could be in her 20’s still” moms who is in her mid-thirties, and she is from my culture. Her husband is not some mediocre middle aged okay-looking-but-has-a-good-job guy (sorry), no he was from the same culture as her and they met “early” so have already been together for like 15-20 years and now have two cute adolescent kids. They are the same age and both are conventionally pretty/handsome. I love that and I honestly want that for myself and yet women all around me are on their high horse telling me that looks do not matter, yet they are the same people who will switch to jealousy and comparison if a handsome man is flirty with another woman in their view. I resent this sexist concept that I am only deemed as valuable as the partner who picked me. Anyways.
I never find toddlers or babies cute, but seeing this young and pretty woman who genuinely looked happy felt different. It is starkly different from my graying mother with a chopped short hairdo (no offense, she just complained of hairloss from pregnancy often, and never allowed ME to grow my hair long).
Of course some content creators are narcs/uBPD queens but it was a smaller account and also I’m mainly referencing the feelings it brought up in me. Thank you if you read some/all of this I have a hard time discussing this with most in my circle. It feels entirely new that being a mother could be one big element of life that doesnt highjack selfcare, beauty routine, a creative hobby, having a partner that is more than just functional(??), not feeling jealous of my kids, and other narc/uBPD stuff that was my reality.

I’ve been working late at my job, staying until around midnight (or later, depending on which manager is in charge that day) and helping to close up. A couple of nights ago, I got out at two in the morning. I’d gotten stuck with Melanie, an anal-retentive manager who wants to make sure everything is done and done right before we can leave. Dealing with Melanie’s bullshit after a day of dealing with an insufferable bunch of customers drained me. By the time I was finally able to get out, I shambled to my car like a zombie.
My job isn’t too far from my home, only being a 10-20 minute drive depending on traffic. Since it was 2 AM I figured the roads would be empty. People had better things to do, like sleep, something I desperately wanted to do in that moment.
I went to connect my phone to my car’s Bluetooth to play some music that would keep me awake, but I found that my phone had died and, unfortunately, I did not have my car charger that night. I settled for turning the radio to the local rock station instead.
The drive home is simple: go down the main road for a few minutes, turn onto Arkansas Avenue, then take that straight down until I reach my neighborhood. The thing is, once you’re about a mile off the main road, Arkansas Avenue becomes a long stretch of road bordered by trees with little bits of civilization every few miles. The road’s lack of streetlights can be pretty creepy at night, but at that point I was too tired to be spooked. If some random monster jumped out of the darkness and killed me, well, at least I could finally get some rest.
Anyway, I drove down Arkansas Avenue, my only company the moon and whatever local ads the radio station was playing between brief bits of Imagine Dragons. I was nearly to my neighborhood when I saw that the road was blocked by a downed tree.
Fuck.
A part of me briefly considered pulling over to the side of the road and just getting a bit of shut eye, but I decided against it. Instead, I figured I’d go down a side street for a quick detour. Thankfully, there was a road nearby, though oddly enough I didn’t recognize it. The sign identified it as Circle Road, which I didn’t remember ever seeing before. I didn’t think too much about it; it was close, I was tired, and it seemed to be the best way to get home.
Circle Road, like Arkansas Avenue, did not have any streetlights. I turned on my brights, but even then it was still hard to see. I went slowly, peering through the dark to try and find some other side road to go down to get back home. However, I noticed that there were no side roads to go down; just a straight line bordered by tall trees soundtracked by an Avenged Sevenfold song. One mile passed, then two, and still nothing.
I noticed that the farther down the road I went, the darker it got. While it was dark beforehand, at least the moon would sometimes peek from behind the clouds to provide a bit of light. However, the trees along Circle Road seemed to get taller the further I got. As the trees got taller, the radio station’s signal got weaker. “Mz. Hyde” was interrupted by bursts of static until the song was more static than music. The tree tops on either side of the road seemed to extend to each other, until finally, they touched, forming a sort of ceiling that blocked out the sky and the radio station. The only lights I had were my headlights and the digital clock in my car informing me that it was 2:13 AM. The only sound I heard was the beating of my heart.
I kept driving, hoping at some point to find some road or outlet or just somewhere with enough room to let me make a U-turn. Nothing came, though. The road just kept going, stretching to infinity. I felt like I had been driving for hours, but when I looked at my clock it said it was still 2:13 AM. That seemed impossible. I knew for a fact that at the very least a minute had passed. I counted the seconds in my head.
One Mississippi…two Mississippi…
When I got to 60, I checked the clock again.
2:13 AM.
I counted to 120.
2:13 AM.
Did my car’s clock break? Is that possible? I wanted to check, but I remembered that my phone was still very dead.
My sleep-deprived brain offered me another suggestion. The clock works fine. Time just didn’t pass. Circle Road isn’t real and somehow I ended up on some infinite road. Time would never pass and I’d be stuck driving on here forever and ever, never aging or dying.
I checked the clock again.
2:13 AM.
I floored the gas, taking my car from a sensible 35 mph to 70 in no time. 70 became 80 became 90 until I was zooming down Circle Road at 100 mph.
And nothing changed. The road was still a dark infinity. The radio still played static. The clock still said 2:13 AM.
I still kept going. I thought maybe if I went fast enough I’d go down this road until it ended. Maybe it ended at the edge of the state, and I’d drive off into the ocean. At the very least, that’d be something.
As I sped along the road, hoping to hit civilization or water or even a brick wall, something did change. From the radio, I heard a voice. I slowed and turned the radio as loud as it could go.
The voice was male, but none of what he said made sense to me. It didn’t sound like any language I knew. The best way I could describe it is that it sounded like someone who didn’t know English was trying to make up English words. It was gibberish.
“What the hell…?” I muttered.
As the static receded and the nonsense voice got clearer, something else changed: there was light peeking through the trees. I felt a bit of relief, thinking I’d gotten free of this infinite darkness. But, as the tree tops parted and more light came through, I realized something was off. The light was a bizarre, sickly yellow. I looked up, and saw not the moon, but instead a black sun in the sky.
And then suddenly, I was driving through a neighborhood. The neighborhood was very 1950s suburbia but…wrong. I slowed down to get a better look. The homes were all bright, neon colors. A neon green house with a fluorescent orange roof stood next to a neon pink house with an electric purple roof. The lawns in front of these homes were dull brown, punctuated with bright blue wilting flowers.
Along the violet sidewalk, I saw a woman with a brilliant white beehive hairdo push a stroller. Taking a closer look, I noticed that the woman’s skin was a soft blue marred by thick, black veins; her head was bent at an unnatural angle; and the baby in the stroller had no head. The woman waved at me as I drove by.
On the other side of the road, I saw two boys with the same blue skin and dark veins wrestling in the grass. I saw that one had three arms, and the other had ten fingers on each hand.
I saw a man standing in the driveway of a bright yellow house. He was wearing a loud, paisley button up shirt splattered with dark patches of green. He was smoking what I initially thought to be a pipe but, after taking another look, I realized that “pipe” was, in fact, the severed arm of an infant. Smoke came out of the hand.
More sights like this greeted me the longer I drove down the neighborhood. Two boys rode on bikes with wheels made of meat. A man read a bright blue newspaper with incomprehensible red text. A couple strolled down the sidewalk, both holding the same severed head.
Up in the sky, I saw the blackness of the sun split, revealing yellow, rotting teeth that formed a smile. No one responded to this.
I kept driving, passing a boy walking a purple creature that appeared to be a cross between a dog and a spider, when I heard a knock on my car. I yelped, stopped, and saw that there was a man standing beside my car. He had the same blue skin and black veins as everyone else, but his button up shirt was a plain neon green. I rolled down my window and, in surreal confusion and horror, asked, “Yes?”
The man started speaking to me in that not-English language that was still blaring from my radio. I just nodded along. He handed me a flyer, written in that strange, alien language I saw on that newspaper. While holding it, I noticed it was a bit damp. I put it on the passenger seat. The man started pointing in various directions, still speaking in that not-English. I nodded, sprinkling in an, “Uh-huh” and “Ok” here and there. He finished speaking, then gave me a finger gun gesture on a twelve fingered hand. I rolled up my window and kept driving as he waved at me.
I kept going. I passed what I assumed to be a milkman in a bright red uniform leaving a collection of bottles filled with a steaming liquid on a doorstep. Women walked out of a home holding Tupperware full of green, writhing things. A four-armed boy threw a ball that hit a sign with an audible splat.
Wait. I realized the sign had writing on it that I could understand.
Circle Road.
I turned down that road, driving as fast as possible. As I drove down it, I noticed that the vibrant and surreal colors of this world seemed to become more desaturated. Neon green turned from a faint gray-green to just a gray. A road once surrounded by houses was slowly becoming bordered by trees once again. The gibberish on my radio was drowned out by static.
Soon, I was back on Circle Road, stuck in that endless infinity. A part of me wondered if I’d made a mistake and I had returned to the unending darkness I tried so hard to escape. But just as those worries hit me, I heard something new from the radio:
Guns N Roses. The rock station was back. “Welcome to the Jungle” ended, and the DJ mentioned it was 2:14 in the morning, something my car’s clock corroborated. Looking up, I could see the moon and the night sky. I laughed in relief.
After a few minutes, Circle Road stopped at Arkansas Avenue. Oddly enough, it let out past the downed tree instead of before it. I didn’t care. I was just glad to be back. I drove to my neighborhood, parked at my house, and then went inside before passing out on my bed.
I slept until noon; thankfully, it was my day off. After I woke up, I passed off whatever I saw on Circle Road as some sort of weird dream or hallucination caused by stress and lack of sleep. That didn’t stop me from staying in for the day and not going near my car. I told myself it was just because I wanted to relax, and I tried to believe it.
That brings us to today. I have work today. I got ready, grabbed my car charger and lunch, and got in my car. I unthinkingly chucked my lunch in the passenger seat, where it landed with a light crackle that almost sounded like a piece of paper.
My heart dropped to my stomach. With a gulp and shaking hands, I picked up my lunch to see what it had landed on.
In the passenger seat was a flyer with text written in a strange, alien language.

Hello, recently I’ve started to notice differences between a bit of my family and I want to know if I’m the asshole for having a bit of pain thinking about it/ am I acting like a spoiled brat.
Some background, I F17 will be turning 18 in about a month and graduating high school, this post is about my mothers side specifically my grandmother, for context my grandmother was a tutor who cost 70+/hr and my grandpa (dead) was a dentist who has a very well off practice. My mother the oldest is a highschool teacher, the middle(W) works for capital one in a leadership role(think 6fig salary) and the youngest(B) has a business in IT he sometimes has to travel to Dubi or Hong Kong for (think high 6or7 fig). As I’m sure you can tell my mother(K) was always talked to like she was stupid
W has 2 kids G: F14 and H: M12 B has 2 kids Z: F20 and M: M16 I am an only child sorry for rambling let’s actually start with the aita
In my freshman year there was a problem where I couldn’t ride the bus due to a suspicious individual (my mom was worried) but after about 3 days of her picking me up she couldn’t anymore she called my grandmother and asked if she could since she was close to the school, she said no which is fine she could be busy so one of my friends moms hearing this offered since were in the same neighborhood and drove me for almost 4 months which I could never thank her enough for, about 2 days after my grandmother first said she couldn’t drive me she bought my cousin G swim lessons and picked her up at the same time from a school slightly away from mine and drove her despite G and H having a Nanny that picked them and drove them everywhere that hurt a lil.
Next, summer of my freshman year I was going to a camp and was extremely excited however when the time came to get all the supplies it ended up being about 200$ too expensive my mother (I did not find out about this until later) asked my grandmother and said she’d pay it back my grandmother said no, (my grandmother on my dads side found out and gave the money despite being not well off and we know would have to pinch pennies to make up for it to this day won’t let us pay her back) however the next day she paid for G to get a new wardrobe(almost 300$) for their 2 week Disney trip.
This includes gifts I don’t think I’ve ever received a birthday gift and Christmas is usually a mug I’m sure you can imagine what I saw the others get
Final example I will give my parents spent hundreds of dollars they didn’t have to send me to a tutor for geometry so my math grades would stay high enough to get into an accounting course, when the time came the course was 500$ they couldn’t afford to spend that and again my grandmother would not however this time I heard the conversation “no I will not spend that much for someone who probably won’t even get a good distinguished job to talk about” that one hurt. And I’m sure you know the. Trend by now she then put M through extensive guitar lessons almost 200 a week.
There is more in between but this is all I’m gonna put as it’s already very long, this is also the point I could legally get a job and never asked again
For reference the two examples of money I gave are the only two times an activity I wanted to do was over 100$ before I started working after I was working if I wanted to do something I pay for it, my cousins who can work don’t they get an allowance from their parents and my grandma (yes even the 20yr old she’s in college and rent is paid for)
