2024.03.29 19:00 SierraKing19 Don't really know where to go from here.

Hey all! really seeking for some wisdom from people who've been in longer than I have...
I have been in the Army for almost 2 years now and already been through 1 duty station (Camp Humphreys, SK) and am now headed to Fort Riley Kansas, My MOS is a 15 Series. (I'm trying to keep the details as vague as possible to avoid doxing as I have friends on here). The problem I'm faced with is while stationed in Korea (Which actually was pretty fun at times!) I was seeing our units embedded inpatient BH for around 4 months.
For preface, I was NOT ok while I was stationed there, I was having family issues like crazy stateside, and I was not coping well with living in a foreign country at such a young age. My unit was working us like crazy the majority of time and I had a terrible work life balance. Which unfortunately had the effect of making me heavily depressed, and suicidal. So far I must admit the Army has not quite been what I imagined. In my suicidal haze I had turned to self harming, and doing it probably 2-3 times a week, which despite higher ups seeing the marks on my arms, the only person who said something was my best friend, who told me to self refer to BH.
I began seeing our units BH provider and I swear i disclosed everything (thoughts, feelings, self harm, suicidal ideation, the whole 9 yards) while i was doing in patient. I would talk about these with this 0-4 type who was my counselor, and after a while I realized I was being told the same thing at every appointment of "You need to find healthy ways to let go of stress". Eventually I just stopped going around the 4 month mark after having visits every other week, as he didn't offer alternative help nor any thing for that matter beyond that line he kept selling to me.
I was spiraling super hard, very hard, I was drinking heavily, becoming somewhat of a shitbag, not being able to sleep at all at night, 24/7 anxiety that something bad was going to happen. Even got to the point in which I did attempt suicide by taking half a bottle of 800mg ibuprofens, which didn't work obviously. (which I hated being and NOTE: No i have never received a UCMJ, Failed a ACFT, or HT/WT for that matter, or even been negatively counseled)
The worst was having to act like I was fine at work, the charade I had to put on while the whole time my soul felt like it was dying was the worst of all I feel. But now I'm out of Korea and on leave and about to head to Riley, and from people I know their, The BH provider is not very good, and it is also very backed up, more than anything I just don't know where to go from here or what to do at all. Obviously I'm not gonna go awol or do something stupid as fuck that would make my life miserable, I have enough head on my shoulders to know that. But I'm extremely worried that something will happen at my gaining unit that I won't be able to just "thug" out or roll with. I've been barely hanging on for so long and don't wanna fall over the edge. I honestly don't know what my next course of action or where to go or what to do, I don't wanna be on the shitlist of my next unit for going to BH like I was on my last one. If anyone could be the star that guides a very weary traveler then please either let me know here or reach out with a DM. Please anything would help. I'm tired of hanging on but not by much.

2024.03.25 04:16 chubby_the_frog Lump in neck? / Help understanding urgent care visit

23 year old 5ft 11' male, 280lbs in the USA.
https://i.ibb.co/rM5GtRs/20240322-130736.jpg - location photo for reference
Hii everyone, so the other day when I was shaving I noticed a lump in my neck under my left ear. I visited an urgent care with the hope that they would be able to feel it and rule out anything serious. TBH I really was hoping for some imaging especially given my medical anxiety and the fact that I waited about 2 hours for a 2 minute visit. Now I get it this isn't anything too urgent, but to me I am having trouble knowing how worried I should be.
After a brief feel of the lump (the lump itself is non-visible, tender to the touch, gives a weird feeling when touching, and is a bit harder than what I would expect a node to feel like but not as hard as a marble) he spend 5 seconds giving some possibilities. He said it could be a swollen lymph node, but also said something about an infected vein and mentioned some major arteries in the neck. I told him I have been on Prilosec for about 2 years for LPR, and antibiotics the past month (10 days for sinus infection mid feb 10 day dose of Augmentin, and then a 10 day dose of Bactrim for possible UTI/prostate symptoms early march). I feel like his solution wasn't very personal or urgent. He prescribed both a antibiotic and an antiviral plus the 800mg ibuprofen. A day later I still haven't started the meds yet, but I am also feeling some pressure towards my throat, should I be worried?
I talked to my aunt who use to be an ER nurse 10+ years ago and she thought it seemed odd, I have attached some notes from the mychart post-visit summary below. He never talked to me about a cyst or skin infection so I don't know why this is on the notes. He never even looked in the adjacent ear. My aunt mentioned it could be a saliva gland of some sort (parotid gland) and mentioned that they should have taken my blood to rule infection out/in. She doesn't think I should start any meds yet and was confused on the antiviral/antibiotic at the same time ruling. I would love some second opinions on this, going to try to get into an ENT ASAP but I am a very anxious person and the sensation in my throat (which I could be mistaking for my LPR since I have been living with that for a while) is killing me haha.
I can start the medicine tomorrow asap if needed, does what he says make sense? Am I overthinking all of this? Again I will be going to the ENT ASAP, but I appreciate the insight.

2024.02.28 15:22 CheapElderberry6651 UTI after sex

Hello everyone, I am a 35 year old female who gets a UTI every time after sex even after strictly following good hygiene. 1). Me and partner maintain good hygiene. I had the same problem with other partners too. 2). I always pee after sex 3). I have consulted many urologist. My cystoscopy results are all normal. 4). I was put on 6 months of cefixime but even then I got 5 breakthrough infections during the 6 months. 5). My culture reports were always sterile except 2 times. One time, it was strep B and other time it was polymicrobial. 6). My routine after sex is to immediately pee ( I do not pee before sex because if I do that, i cannot pee after, I am empty), clean and take a low dose of Bactrim forte (800mg/160mg), the following day I drink d- mannose 2 times and also take 2 cranberry tablets. I try to maintain a gap of 3 hrs between d-mannos and cranberry. 7). I am taking garden of life UTI probiotic capsule everyday. I was also using the probiotic ovules every 3 days. 8). I am on 2 hormones pill but i am sure it does not have an effect as I have UTI before when I was not on birth control.
Even after doing all this, in the last 4 months of starting prophylactic bactrim, I have had 3 breakthrough infections. Sometimes bactrim works but one day suddenly I get an breakthrough infection. Similarly, with cefixime, I had 5 infections last year. Normally, when you are taking prophylaxis antibiotics you should not worry about taking cranberry or d-mannose.
I live in France, hiprex and UTI vaccine are not approved here.
I really need help.

2024.02.20 18:11 SimplyLovelyNav HSG Testing Experience

We’ve been trying for almost a year now and we have been unsuccessful. I was on birth control for 11ish years (birth control pills, patch, then IUD). I have PCOS but I have managed to get my levels to a healthier level. My doctor then wanted to move on to an HSG test. I got a Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) test done today to check on my fallopian tubes. Going in, I was super nervous from what I was reading and hearing from other people’s experiences, but everyone truly does have a different experience with how it goes. The nurse who prepped me was sweet and explained everything that would be happening, so it gave me peace of mind. She did want to tell me that she’s not going to downplay my pain and will validate how I am feeling. She mentioned that some people say it’s the worst pain or their life and some said it didn’t hurt at all to them.
Here’s how it went for me:
My results:
I would say that the pain/discomfort wasn’t as bad as I was led to believe. It felt like normal period cramps to me. Perhaps that just means I have a high pain threshold?
Overall Pain/Discomfort Rating: 6/10
Total Cost: $400 + $30 pregnancy test (My insurance does not cover anything fertility related)
Location: IVFMD in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area

2023.12.26 21:54 Gametest014 Epididymitis questions

I will put the tldr here because I wrote a lot.
Tldr: 12/6 I had raw sex with a old fling multiple times. Went to the ER last monday for pain and swelling in right testicle. Had a urine test and x-rays done was diagnosed as Epididymitis and giving Doxycycline. Due to the first doctor not accepting my insurance I had to have the hospital switch the doctor to one who does so I had to wait another day. Last Wednesday I get my Doxycycline and take as instructed 2x a day. The pain was so unbearable that I couldn’t walk or even poop and felt constipated I end up back to the ER on Thursday for the groin pain and pain in my right abdomen by my waist. I was diagnosed with a UTI and Lymphadenopathy doctor also mentioned that there was bacteria in my urine test that was done the first time I went to the ER. I was prescribed 800mg of Bactrim & 600mg of Ibuprofen for the pain to take along the 100mg of Doxycycline. As of today 12/26 the pain has improved and the only pain I have is slight when I walk or depending on how I’m laying down or sitting. But on the bottom of my right testicle it’s hard as a rock when I pass my fingers by it, when I squeeze it a little it’s squishy & the top of my testicle is squishy only the bottom if my right one is hard. I have a follow up appointment this Thursday with the urology clinic I was wondering if anyone had this before and did it ever go away ?
So i’m 26yo. I’ve always been a healthy guy, always practiced safe sex for the most part. The most I would do is receive oral without a condom and I can count on my 1 hands all the girls I’ve had unprotected vaginal sex with. Even then I never had any sti’s/stds/utis. Recently last month before Thanksgiving I got tested like I normally do, everything came back negative. So earlier this month I started back talking to a old hookup right. We’ve been hooking up on and off since about 2017. She had a bf and apparently they were on a break and she wanted to see me but we both knew what that meant.
I brought condoms which I always do but we got put in a situation where we were drinking and she had family home so I had went to use the bathroom and she told me pass her brush when I was coming out. Couldn’t find the brush so she came into help. That quickly leads to a quickie and me going raw, then she goes to her garage to smoke I go join her and end up receiving some oral. Before her sister comes knocking on the door and we stop. After about a hour of chilling with her family, sister goes to her room and her parents and aunts leave to go get food so we go up to her room and do the do. Her parents comeback we eat then they go get dressed and go out. We have sex again then ultimately I leave(Every time without a condom).
2 weeks later(last week Monday) I go to work and as I’m walking in I start feeling some testicular discomfort on my right testicle. It’s uncomfortable but I can bear it I was walking normal and sitting normal. I’m walking home from work and it’s feeling like the pain is intensifying luckily I had my umbrella and I’m basically using it as a cane. I get home and go lay down and at first I was like I will sleep it off and go to the urgent care in the morning before work. But I started fully googling my symptoms I seen TC(Testicular Cancer) and freaked out like wtf and ultimately made the decision to go into the ER same night.
I had to walk so slow and 1 step at a time to my annoyance because naturally I walk at like a brisk speed since I hate walking slow(irrelevant). I get on the bus and the bus ride was okay granted it was only about 8 stops but the thing is I had to connect to a second bus(the hospital was about 35 minutes away from me by bus I just had to take the first bus which was a 7 minute ride to the 2nd which was about 20 something) The second bus ride was so bumpy especially when it hit the pots I legit at one point put my hands in my hands to hold my balls.
I finally get to the ER and check in and waited 2 hours to be seen. Sitting didn’t help and I had to constantly keep slightly switching which side I was sitting on. I get called in and the nurse asks me what’s wrong and why I’m walking like that. I tell him and he tells me to go lay on one of those moveable beds. Then I get taking into another waiting room and wait for a nurse to see me. Laying down in that bed the pain didn’t hurt as much after about 45 minutes I get seen by a female doctor.
She has another female nurse come in to watch as she exams my testicles which the right one looks like a grapefruit compared to the left one(apparently the needed another witness idk). She ask the usual am I sexual active and if I use protection so I tell her yes I do but I do tell her about the time 2 weeks ago with my old fling. She asks me if the left one hurts and if im sure it doesn’t which I reassure her a few times it’s only the right testicle.
She has me do a urine test and has me taken in for x-rays, after that I get 2 shots 1 in each arm. One shot of 30mg Ketorolac & another of 500mg of CefTRIAXone & 1 Doxycycline pill. After about 30 minutes I feel better and can walk a little bit better.
I’m told I have Epididymitis and that I can get my antibiotics of Doxycycline from the pharmacy in the morning and I should be fine after taking the antibiotics and to follow up with the urology clinic(apt set for this Thursday). Later that day I can’t even get my antibiotics because the doctor who prescribed it so I had to call them and have them switch the doctor to one who takes my insurance.
So I spent that whole day basically on bed rest because it was so painful to even walk in pain surviving off only water. Next day I get my pills and but now I’m getting pain in my right lower abdominal area mainly by my right waistline, and I also couldn’t poop. But the pain in my testicle feels as bad as it did the first night I checked into the ER so I went right back again. Another 2 hour wait but now I get in and checked by a female nurse who then goes and get her supervisor . He does a press test on my abdominal area then diagnose me with a UTI & Lymphadenopathy. He did mention that my urine from the first night has had bacteria in it. He prescribed me 800mg of a stronger antibiotic called Bactrim and 600mg of Ibuprofen for the pain then gives me another shot of 60mg of Ketorolac.
Today makes it 6 days since I have been taking the 100mg of Doxycycline 2x a day & 4 days since I’ve been taking the 800mg of Bactrim 2x a day & the 600mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours.
The pain since my last hospital visit has tremendously improved like I still feel a slight pain when I walk or depending on how I lay or sit down but other than that it’s not painful having me questioning reality.
My question at the bottom of my right testicle is kind of hard, I can squeeze it a little and it’s slightly squishy but even just passing my finger along my testicles I can feel that my right is hard as a rock at the very bottom. The top is soft after squishy but the bottom is hard and squishy is that normal and will it go away ?

2023.09.04 05:55 leetlenoodlehorse (F21) Knot/Lump in arm almost 2 was following vaccine?

Female, 21
Almost two weeks ago I got a vaccine (routine) during a drs visit at my pcp. It hurt more than usual and was sore and bruised deep. It hurt more than normal but thought it was okay.. then 6 days post it still was red, hot and notice a lump right where i was poked.
I went back and she noted a 3cm x 2cm knot & Skin : Erythema and lesion present. Comments : 3cm x 2cm erythematous tender fluctuant module of L upper arm without drainage or bleeding,
She said she thought it was infected and prescribed bactrim 800mg-160mg tan for 7 days. That it should clear it up and it will go away.. she also said if it doesn’t then not fun things follow.
It did not clear up so far and 1/2 days of antibiotics left, she ordered a ultrasound..
What are the possibilities of what it could be?? I measured the lump again and it was close to her original measurements, It was hard to do on myself so I was probs off so it is most likely the same size.
TIA

2023.06.08 00:10 ConfusedCrohnie2 Is my new gastroenterologist pushing for unnecessary gastroscopy and colonoscopy?

Background: F27. Diagnosed with TI Crohn’s disease in March this year. 5'9", 200lb.
Currently on 30mg Prednisolone, 150mg Azathioprine, Resprim Forte 1/day (sulfamethoxazole 800mg, trimethoprim 160mg), and various antibiotics for an infection.
I was diagnosed with TI Crohn’s in March of this year after a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. The question I have is more about the possibility of coeliac disease, though, so I didn’t add too many details about my Crohn’s treatment. Apologies for the long post, it’s been a confusing few months and I don’t know which details you need.
In summary: I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy done by a GI who diagnosed me with Crohn’s and also mentioned possible coeliac. I got a new GI who says the quality of the original scopes wasn’t good enough and she needs to repeat them to get a clear answer on the Coeliac and also to better assess the Crohn’s. I’m wondering if this makes sense.

More details:
I had the colonoscopy and gastroscopy done on February 23rd this year.
In my follow up consultation after the scopes I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and my GI mentioned they also found signs of possible coeliac and sent me to get a coeliac serology test. In the email to my GP he wrote: “Duodenal biopsies were suggestive of possible coeliac disease with moderate villous irregularity and intraepithelial lymphocytosis. Gastric biopsies were normal without any evidence of coeliac disease.”. I’d previously had a coeliac serology done back in December which was negative (AGA IgG = 4.1, TTG IgA = 6).
The next coeliac serology was done on the 15th of March, and it also came back negative (AGA IgG = 1.7, TTG IgA = 5). Coeliac genotyping was positive so that couldn't be used to rule it out.
It may be important to note that from Feb 6th to Feb 23rd I was eating very little gluten (was on a strict low FODMAP diet).
I decided to switch to another GI for my Crohn’s treatment because I didn’t feel like the original one was communicating with me well. I saw the new GI on May 18th and she made some changes to my Crohn’s medications and told me she would need to redo the scopes at some point (but didn’t say why) and asked me to get some blood tests.
Last week I ended up in the ED for an infection. While I was there a GI from the hospital came and saw me and he read my previous scopes histology reports and he told me “you probably have coeliac”. They put me on a gluten free diet for the rest of my short stay.
I had a second appointment with my new GI yesterday and she told me she’s not sure whether I have coeliac or not because the quality of the scopes I got was not good enough, so she needs to redo them. She is pretty sure I do have Crohn’s but also wants to check that out for herself too.
So these are my questions: what could have been wrong with the scopes/biopsies for them to be invalid somehow, is it just bad luck or did my original GI potentially mess up? Or is my new GI possibly pushing for unnecessary scopes? Also, would the fact that I was on a very low gluten diet for a few weeks prior to the scope affect anything or make the duodenal and gastric biopsies invalid or something? Why might the doctors at the hospital have been fairly confident that I have coeliac but the other GIs aren’t?
I would obviously much rather not have coeliac but my Crohn’s inflammation is minimal at the moment according to a CT scan last week so I’m wondering whether my continued symptoms could be due to something else.

2023.05.17 15:08 TigerSimilar Please answer if you know about this 🙏🏼

Hi everyone. 24M
To sum up. I took a month ago 2 pills of bactrim (then stopped because it’s dangerous) then during 10 days Bactrim forte, twice a day even though I didn’t have any infection. It fucked me up with a really bad allergic reaction (to sulfa I believe) : dizziness, fever, rash, itchiness, red skin, hallucinations etc etc. I immediately stopped taking it and everything since then has been horrible.
Then because I was allergic to it My urologist prescribed me with Cipro (lol) which I didn’t take again. And he also prescribed me tamsulosin (Flomax) once a day because for my cpps I have hesitancy, weak stream and so on. I took it for 15 days then I stopped 2 days ago and since then I have a lot of dizziness when lying down and starting to sleep/closing my eyes. And some cervical/neck discomfort. Because of this I can’t sleep properly.
Do you know it there is also sulfa in Tamsulosin that could cause these effects I have ? Or it’s the tamsulosin side effects that are still in my body even after 48 hours since I took my last pill? Or this could be something else?
I’m becoming to feel horrible, I’m really depressed because of all of this. WHY DID I STARTED TAKING THESE ANTIBIOTICS IF I DIDNT HAVE ANY INFECTION. I really blame myself for this. Why was I so stupid…. Don’t know if I will eventually feel better one day. Maybe too late… :(
My life since then has been a nightmare. Please help me or answer me I beg you.

2023.05.15 18:02 Cutiekittenkaty Need to finally take IBS seriously and start low fodmaps diet..

I'm almost 22 and was diagnosed with IBS in the emergency room when I thought in all honesty that I had a parasite and they just kinda heard my description and symptoms and knew instantly it was IBS. Ever since, I've just kinda coped through denial that I have it and keeping the same shitty diet that I've always had and I've realized I just cannot be eating ANYTHING I want anymore because I'm genuinely seriously damaging my gastrointestinal tract.
The root of how I got IBS? I know exactly how. So as a teenager I was plagued by a very very vicious case of MRSA staph infections that would keep coming back even when I was put on back to back prescriptions of things as harsh as 1000MG of Bactrim a day and was told to take my big prescription 800mg ibuprofen with it.. keep in mind I was a tiny skinny 14-15 year old at the time so it messed me up so badly that I couldn't even eat from the pain it caused me, and here and there they would have to give me more when I found a new boil pop up just a couple weeks after being on my strong antibiotics.
Recently, I had a tooth get cracked/broken during an extraction sadly and I was having to be put on Clindamycin more than once, and probably again in the future just because the soonest root canal appointment available was for AUGUST, yeah.. so that has even further worsened my IBS and flares.
I need tips, advice and maybe hear your experiences and what may have caused or triggered your own IBS.. It's going to be very tough for me to stick to a low fodmaps diet but, I've committed to the idea and today I'm grilling and having burgers with my boyfriend as a (hopefully) final goodbye to the foods that don't help my guts. Maybe let me know what are your go to low fodmaps food items and things like that.
How long could it take to full reverse the damage that years of harsh antibiotics and bad eating that caused my IBS?
Thank you for listening, I just want to know I'm not alone and try to get a little support and sympathy. 💞💞

2023.04.29 17:49 TigerSimilar Mu updated journey and I’m pretty confused af…

24M
I have CPPS and also hypertonic pelvic floor (diagnosed by several docs and PFPT). For at least 2/3 years. I was only diagnosed this year
My symptoms until last week were weak urine stream, pelvic pain, relatively frequent urination, I had back pain groin pain, sometimes pain while peeing, ejaculation pain and ED. So the pretty classics.
I got a blood, urine and sperm test and they all came back negative, also Uroflowmetry (which was 18 ml/s two weeks ago until last week also and I had at least 3 DRE done and it was painful. Also, I had a transrectal ultrasound and everything was fine, prostate size normal, no calcification etc.. Urologist prescribed me Cipro (which I refused) and then he prescribed me bactrim forte… I finally accepted to take it because I was in a « why not » mind. What a mistake of mine… 10 days after starting the bactrim I had a really bad reaction with red skin, like a rash, with fever, dizziness, lymph nodes and it was itching af. I immediately stopped bactrim and fortunately 3 days after stopping bactrim it all went away.
But I also had another thing that happened to me in the meanwhile :
What confuses me?
So Last week, while I still was on bactrim, out of nowhere I didn’t feel the need the pee anymore even though I had drunk the same amount of water (2L per day). So I went to the bathroom and I had to strain a lot for the pee to go out… and not as much urine went out a usual. I went to sleep and on morning the same happened to me. I began to be really stressed and anxious so I wen to ER because I thought my bladder was filling itself and that I couldn’t pee but in fact they did ultrasound and it wasn’t urine retention…. So I spend the whole week staring and bearing down (not good to do it) in order to pee. I also developed abdominal and pubic muscles soreness because of how much I was straining. I still got it now even tho I’d say it’s a bit less.
I started a urine journal and I was peeing approx the same amount of water I was drinking so It was good sign. Days go by and now I’m still on the same shit. I have a lot of urinary hesitancy, don’t really feel the need to pee like I did and the flow is weak. Weaker than when I did the urolflowmetry 2 weeks before. But you know what? I don’t have pelvic pain like I used to anymore, don’t have pain while urinating anymore. It was like a trade off of some of my symptoms with other new symptoms.
I don’t know if it occurred because of bactrim (because it happened at the same time my reaction happened) or my cpps and hypertonic pelvic floor worsened in that matter but I’m pretty lost. It all happened in like one day.
Do you have an explanation for this? I’m starting PFFT this week and also my urologist gave me Tamsulosin alpha blockers for the hesitancy and the weak flow stream. Didn’t took them yet, maybe tomorrow morning.
Do you have an explanation ? What could I do next?

2023.04.29 17:48 TigerSimilar Mu updated journey and I’m pretty confused af…

2023.04.24 17:33 OkPerformer6828 Neck rash - should I be concerned?

1 week ago I started following protocol: Malarone + Bactrim. (I have to add Azithromycin in week 2)
Since starting protocol I was feeling pretty well, and tolerated everything well but today around noon I noticed rash on my neck.
I’m concerned because my doctor worned me about allergy reaction to Bactrim, which can be dangerous.
However, I took Bactrim forte (2x dose) about 3 months ago and tolerated it well without any side effects.
That rash appeared suddenly at 4 pm - at the time I did two things: eated almonds for snack, and took liposomal gluthatione shortly before rash appeared.
Also, yesterday I shaved my neck with razor, and I have pretty sensitive skin so maybe that’s a thing. But it appeared suddenly today, not after shaving.
I didn’t took my antibiotics yet today, so I think that rash is not from Bactrim but I want to be sure.
Today I’m not taking any antibiotics and watching the rash - if it’ll go away shortly I’ll be calm.
What do you think? It’s not a big deal, or should I be concerned and stop taking antibiotics?

2023.01.17 08:06 Adventurous-Arm9441 Read the ending about Secrets to end Scabies

This is for people who have been fighting the battle against Scabies and are losing.
It took me 5 years to find out what I am writing here, I kept getting infected after months of being clear of them.
First, unless you have gone to a doctor and had a skin scraping and a lab has determined you have scabies, think twice if your having scabies symptoms. What I am about to tell you there is very little information of in the medical field and in any documented cases, I found 3 or 4 in the whole world that were confirmed but I am sure it is only because of the difficulty in diagnosis. Doctors see your body, they don't go to your home with a hand held microscope and a lap top looking around your windows and areas you frequent to look for other blood sucking mites that cause the same symptoms as scabies.
I started getting pimple like bumps, they would swell and itch, I had all the symptoms of scabies, I would have a bite or sore that after 3 days a bunch of smaller ones would appear around it and itch. I can't confirm whether it was a mite laying eggs and them hatching out causing the smaller bites because I never saw a mite anywhere on my body , even using a digital microscope, but they were there and able to hide either by going into my skin pores or hair folicles. My advice buy a 20 dollar hand held digital microscope off ebay. It is a diagnostic tool you will need, it usb plugs into your laptop and has viewer software it works with. Take a bath, put salt in your hair with antibacterial dish soap to hold it on and stay in the tub for an hour or so laying your head on the end of the tub. After you drain the tub, look for any pepper looking black specks and view them with the microscope, you will find them somewhere in or on your tub if the bugs on you are not scabies.
The next thing that would happen with me, as I was getting more and more bites, is some were getting worse turning into sores, maybe from scratching them, but for sure because the mite caused bacteria that spread eventually into my blood stream. ( a systemic bacterial infection). No antibiotic ointments or anything will stop the infection, that is where the Bactrim DS, the DS stands for double strength fights the bacteria, I chose it because a doctor said it helped change the flora in scabies gut and contributes to their demise, it is an adjunct tool in the fight to end their lives.
The bacteria creates its' own symptoms, between the bacteria and the mites you get signs on your skin like vesicles, urticarial plaques, and diffuse erythema, with dermatographia. Read about them, I had them all, the last one if you scratch yourself , only sometimes lines will swell where you scratched, you can even write in your skin and the letters will raise up. They say it affects 2 to 5% of the population, I was one. It is caused by infections and histamine.
Scabies tunnel into your skin, some mites come out at night hiding in your bed or your clothes and in my case my hair, and they suck your blood. I think the mites I had could hide in my skin pores and hair folicles because they are nocturnal and I never saw them on me in the light.
The bacteria keeps the sore from healing which gives the mite a bloody pool to eat from.
The Benzyl Benzoate cream applied to your body from the neck down will cause some mites to seek refuge in your scalp or face depending on the species. The Bactrim fights the bacteria and I think makes any blood feeding mite less likely to gorge on your blood because it upsets their gut. That was my experience, Benzyl Benzoate significantly stopped any new sores, just had a very few tiny pimple like bites from my neck down, then when I started taking the bactrim, all the new bites stopped, but that is when I started hearing them in my ear doing something that caused an intermittant vibration. I immediatly poured alcohol in to kill it, not sure if it was a mite stuck in ear wax trying to get free, or a larva trying to hatch out of an egg, I just wanted to stop the vibration.
What I did works on all mite infestations, Bird mites will attack humans in rare cases ( mine) , they enhabit your body and live in your scalp with no signs of them except for the bites.
Read about Bird mites, the same symptoms as scabies but there are cases where they infest humans and live in their hair, they are very hard to kill on your head.
After applying the Benzyl Benzoate over several days, they all moved to my head, even if I applied the Benzyl Benzoate to my scalp, somehow they evaded it, maybe by going in my skin.
I started taking salt baths to try and help stop the itching, Knowing they were still on me on my head getting in my ear, I thought I would massage salt into my scalp hoping to kill them. I used Palmolive antibacterial dish soap after applying the salt as something to make it stick to my head better and I poured a lot of salt in my scalp leaving it on and laying my head back in the tub soaking.
At this point I still thought I had scabies and they went above my neck. leaving the salt in about an hour, as I was sitting in the bath with the salt in my hair over 5 or 6 huge whelps Bites came up on my neck, the salt forced them out of my scalp and they attacked me and bit the hell out of me and on my upper back.
The next day I went to take another salt bath, I went to rinse the tub before filling it and saw some tiny specks about the size of a grain of sand, they looked black in my white tub.
They looked suspicious so I got my digital microscope to see what it was, I was grossed out, they were tiny mites with 8 legs and a pincher type mouth with 2 long front legs very spider like. Since nothing got them out of my scalp but salt, I taped a plastic shopping bag around my hair line with the open end up, applied salt and Palmolive antibacterial dish soap to hold it in place adding plenty of salt and massaging it in. Then I twisted the top of the bag closed and tight to my head, wrapped my head in a towel then applied Benzyl Benzoate to the rest of my body, in 5 hours I took a shower and I am not free of them, all were killed, they had nowhere to escape to. Then I took my bed apart vacummed everything and sprayed it with permethrin. I put paper plates under each leg of my bed and put Diatomaceous earth in each plate, Then I sprayed my room, Elector PSP is the best thing it kills eggs and mites in one spray, otherwise you have to spray 3 times over three weeks as the eggs hatch because nothing else kills the eggs.
Anyway cure is Benzyl Benzoate topically, while during the same time your applying the Benzyl Benzoate, taking 800mg Sulfamethoxazole/160mgTrimethoprim tablets every 12 hrs for 10 to 14 days. And wrapping your scalp in salt for 5 hrs while the benzyl benzoate is on the rest of you.
The Sulfamethoxazole & Trimethoprim are antibiotics also known as Bactrim, now you would not think of using it to kill insects infecting your body, but believe me, this stuff works like a miracle. I was fighting a horrible case I could not end no matter what I tried and in less than 24 hours I could tell it was working and within 48 all my sores went dormant meaning no more feeling of something alive inside my body and in all my sores the swelling was gone and they were drying up, the redness was slower to go away, with my body now only having to repair the damage they did. Be sure even though the mites on you should all be dead after theead salt and Benzyl Benzoate application at the same time, take the full regiment of Bactrim at the least 10 to 14 days days of the Bactrim because the dead bugs, their eggs, their reminants as they molt and their feces will still be under your skin. I would do 14 days if your sores are not all healed with no signs of them in 10 days. The last thing you want is a bacteria or scabies not all being killed off and coming back resistant to the bactrim. This after over 6 months of suffering has given me my life back. Just make sure while taking it you clean your house well and spray it and your bed and furniture so you don't get reinfected
Bactrim is a sulfa drug ,some people could be allergic to, so when I first started my dose I broke the tablet in half at the score line and took 1/2 a tablet and waited about an hour, I had no side effects so I took the other half and after that took one tablet every 12 hours with an 8 ounce glass of water, or as much as you can. It is important to a lot of water with it and to take it 1 hr before a meal or 2 hours after.

Trying to understand them
I am going to try and explain what is going on in a simple way.
Look at your outer skin, (skin pores and hair folicles), like a sponge with holes.. Then imagine a blood barrier under that sponge that seperates it from a blood flow layer.
There are 3 stratas.
1 The sponge layer
  1. the barrier between the sponge and blood layer
  2. the blood flowing flesh layer
Now Imagine scabies in their different stages of life being on your body. I will refer to the females when describing the adult stage because they are the ones that cause the Disease. There are 4 stages
4 Life Stages of Scabies
Stage 1. The egg
Stage 2. The larva ( just hatched egg)
Stage 3. A pre adult scabie with 6 legs that goes into a molting phase to grow to an 8 leg adult scabie by shedding it's skin
Stage 4. An 8 leg Adult scabie capable of breeding and laying eggs.

Which layer does each stage of scabies live in?
The Adult females laying eggs and their eggs live in the blood flowing flesh, adult females can tunnel to lay eggs, or stay in one place laying eggs. They are too deep for most all topicals, that is why you need something like Ivermectin, or Bactrim to kill them deep in your skin if the Ivermectin is not working. I tried spinosad topically and moxidectrin orally, neither of them killed them off.
The larva and 6 leg nymphs live in the sponge layer usually in one spot till they mature, but at some point prior to being an adult they need nourishment so they are able cross into the blood barier to keep hydrated and nourished as they mature. Being able to go deeper in the skin makes them harder for the Benzyl Benzoate to get to them to kill them.
Attmepts at killing them in each layer
  1. Scabicides kill them in the sponge layer ( skin pores and hair folicles), (only if they have not become resistant to the scabicide your using.). Permethrin is suppose to kill the eggs too but I never got prescribed enough for the multiple applications needed to penetrate that deep to kill them.
  2. Ivermectin kills them in the Blood flowing flesh layer, ( only if they have not become resistant to it).
The reason they are so hard to kill is their evasiveness causing their resistance to anything they are able to build resistance to, this is why you topically treat your body with a scabicide at the same time you are taking an oral scabicide.
Once they mature enough past the nymph stage to be able to dig past the barier to cross from the sponge layer to the blood flowing flesh layer. When you apply most any scabicide to your sponge (skin layer), some scabies will evade it by digging in to the blood flowing flesh layer where most all single application scabicide applications do not soak far enough, What happens, if they survive the permethrin, their next generation will become more resistant to it. Then with each subsequent generation it snow balls with each generation becoming more resistant till it has no effect on them at all.
The key to killing them has to be attacking both layers at the same time and all of your body including your head, with something they can not build resistance to otherwise they just go to the layer or area you are not treating.

They instruct you to apply any scabicide starting from the neck working down. That is a recepie for failure if your mites are Dermanyssus gallinae.
Although scabies may prefer inhabiting below your neck, most blood sucking mites will go where you are not applying the scabicide,Above the neck

The scabicide is Benzyl Benzoate cream the FDA does not approve a mixture commercially made for humans to be sold in the USA,, Austrailia does, but they are not allowed to ship it here. Although it was discovered in the 1940s and has been used in europe for treating Scabies for decades. I think maybe a reason they don't approve it in the USA is most peope are not careful enough or responsible enough to use, being careful with it.
It is present in the balsam of Peru and in some flowers, it is a plants defense from bugs.
The 2 hazards using it is, First and most importantly keeping it away from your eyes, It will sting and can't be wiped or rinsed off because although while applying it on completely dry skin it will not sting, getting the skin wet or even sweating while it is on you, before it nuteralizes after 24, hours it will sting you especially on your face, washing it off getting it wet is not an option before 24 hrs , always wait 24 hours after the last application before washing it off.
Also you have to keep it away from some plastics paints and dyes and plastics because it will etch them making them come, this mostly goes for enamels like on a fiberglass tub and plastic like on a computer mouse pad or computer case or TV remote control. Since you want it on 100% of your body for the whole treatment period you need to put plastic food server gloves on to protect anything you might touch. I compare it to Jalepeno pepper juice the way it stings, but only when you wet it on you, it stings like a burn but does not burn your skin, but get it near your eyes and it is a nightmare, there are some fumes getting it too close to your eyes that will irritate them, and rubbing your eyes is an easy mistake. I did that and there was nothing I could do but keep my eye closed, I tried putting milk on a paper towel and wiping it but the moisture just made my eye lid sting, I had to pat my eye dry keeping it closed tightly and wait till I could open it again, it took a good while like an hour or so.
I wore cheap food server gloves the whole time during the treatment because you must treat your hands and use a tooth brush to apply it under your toe and finger nails leaving it on the full 24 hrs. The gloves help remind you not to.touch your eyes,
How I apply it to be safe , first your skin needs to be clean and free of any lotion and oils, and your skin must be completely dry, not just towel dry or it will sting applying it.
I put it in a bowel and dip my fingers in to apply it starting at my neck then massaging it up my neck into my hair line all around my scalp and around and on my ears,on my cheeks sparingly and on my forehead and nose so it does not dun or drip near my eyes
You can hand apply it all over the rest of your body, but if your in a hurry and can keep from getting it on other things, use a spray bottle to apply it below your neck, just make sure your away from anything painted or made of rubber or plastic as you spray it from your neck down with your eyes closed, then massage it in well.
I gently squeeze the trigger while holding my eyes closed, then I stop and massage it in.
This makes it safe, because any other way it can drip down around your eyes if you put it on too wet. Take my word for it, it is a nightmare if that happens,
For killing scabies in the blood layer and the Staphylococcus Aureus Bacteria
If Ivermectin does not kill the ones in the blood layer as you treat you skin with Benzyl Benzoate and orally take the Ivermectin at the same time, what works was replacing the Ivermectin with the 800mg Sulfamethoxazole & 160mg Trimethoprim , AKA Bactrim. Taken 1 tablet every 12 hours for 10 to 14 days. It also fights the bacterial infection.
I had some sores where there were bites or mites I had killed off with Tea tree oil patches, they remained red and were not healing, I realized the bacterial infection was from the inside in my blood stream because topical triple antibiotic ointment was not healing them. I expected the Bactrin to kill the bacteria which it slowly did, but before my 3rd dose of Bactrim I could tell it was having more of a faster effect on killing the scabies. It works because as the antibiotic kills the bacteria it also changes the flora in the Scabies Gut and they die. So the secret to getting rid of scabies are two things.
  1. Bactrim which is 800mg Sulfamethoxazole & 160mg Trimethoprim
  2. Benzyl benzoate
Before finding out about bactrim I was making patches to tape over the scabies to smother or kill them using either tea tree oil or Benzyl Benzoate, although it worked sometimes, other times it seemed like the mites would manage to burrow their way away from it depending on how deep in my skin they were. Using the Benzyl Benzoate and bactrim stopped me from needing tea tree after a week because the tea tree oil was damaging my skin and I was not sure if it was bacteria or a mite making a feeling of movement under my skin.

There is a chart below showing applying it 7 days apart, I did not find this to work in my case
I applied it several times in a day for 48 hours then washed it off. The day and overnight after I washed it off there were eggs on me that hatched out and started new pimple looking sores. Once they dug in, they were harder to kill.
I did not want to give the newly hatched that chance to make nests so since the eggs hatch out in 3 to 7 days after they are laid. In my experience the Sulfamethoxazole & Trimethoprim kills the any that are feeding off you or makes them stop feeding almost completely.
https://www.healthline.com/health/how-long-can-scabies-live-in-a-mattress#:~:text=Permethrin%20spray%20is%20a%20liquid,room%20for%20about%2030%20minutes.
Applying BB every night after a shower worked till I needed to do it no more because the sores were healing and the Bactrim stopped the biting completely. I put all my bedding including my pillow in the dryer on High heat for 20 min.
Use a hypoallergenic mattress and pillow covers, or spraying the bed with bed bug spray or malathion or permethrin spray that morning so it is on the matress all day till you go to bed.. because the mites will want to leave your body and get in your bedding at night, also keep floor vacuumed well and keep vacuume outside or in the garage or empty and change the bag.
The best advice I can give is take 800mgSulfamethoxazole & 160mg Tri Benzyl Benzoate applications while also applying Benzyl Benzoate topically. Keep plenty of Benzyl Benzoate on hand to make a steady supply of the 25% Benzyl Benzoate cream, and apply it after every shower without washing it off in between showers,
Keeping it on you all the time helps weaken any new hatchlings from nesting and digging in, you can use it as much as you need to suite your needs of killing them and getting better.
The time it will take before they are all dead be determined by when the last egg hatches and the larva dies along with the last egg laying female which Bactrim seems to do and treating the scalp if your mites are not scabies by wrapping it in salt while also having Benzyl Benzoate on the rest of your body except your face unless you have bites there, just put vasoline around your eyes and do not get the Benzyl benzoate near your eyes or in your eyes, it will burn and theres no way to wash it off, trying to use water to wash it off makes it burn even worse.
If the Benzyl Benzoate lotion feels oily on and it's not comfortable putting clothes on right away, I wait a little while for it to soak in my skin and might apply some diatomacepus earth to my skin, it is like a drying powder and will help dry them out and make it a little more comfortable to put clothes on. It can make your skin dry, if so, when you bathe use baby oil in the water you soak in. You dont want to breath the dust it is like silica. Some people shy away from it because it is not healthy getting it in your lungs.
Benadryl is good to help you sleep and help stop the itch, triple antibiotic lotion is good for treating the sores that are healing, Calamine lotion is also good to stop itching and to dry out healing sores. Antiseptic
Mites can produce an enzyme that blocks your immune system from attacking them so any damage they do to your skin heals slowly because it also blocks your immune system from killing the bacteria that comes with them, that is why antibiotics are very important to end this disease.

The 7 day period they recommend to apply Benzyl Benzoate is based on the time they figure all the eggs will have hatched after the last egg laying female and the rest of the scabies are dead from the first treatment of the Benzyl Benzoate. Aplying it again 7 days kills the rest that should have all hatched out by then, before they can mature into breeding adults as the Benzyl Benzoate does not kill their eggs. These instructions might work for scabies but it does not work on other mites.

You may want to make a plan of treatments that works for your results you need by experimentation, I told you what worked for me. All I can say is the more layers you can apply in a day and the more days you can leave it on without washing it off while cleaning your enviornment the quicker they will flee it..
Before washing it off make sure it has been on your face at least 24 hours after your last application off or it will sting. You might try patting your face with a wet wash rag in small spots to wet it , to see if it stings, if it does, leave it on your face longer to nuteralize. When washing it off your scalp Tilt your head back to rinse it, you don't want to rinse it off your scalp and have it flow over your face. Also always keep your eyes closed and head tilted back rinsing away from your face when washing it off your head.
The crusted looking infection on my hand started as sores and a bad infection. I had to wrap my hand with kitchen plastic wrap with Tea Tree oil soaked paper on paper towels. It was the only thing that penetrated the leather like skin and the large area of many scabies it also drew out the infection Staphylococcus aureus or beta-hemolytic streptococci. makes a yellow crust. , it burned like hell for a day basically burning my leather looking skin making it look like a coating of yellow bacteria scab, that later dried and peeled off leaving new skin under it. I had a couple of spots I had to cover again with tea tree oil patches but my hand cleared all up within a month. At that time I did not know about Bactrim or Benzyl benzoate, I think I could have prevented all that suffering if I had this knowledge then.
Here is a chart for BB treatments for scabies , Notice they were smart enough to tell you to fight both layers at the same time, using Ivermectin with the Benzyl Benzoate.
I think waiting 6 days between treatments allows any hatched larva to dig in deeper making them harder to kill, and you do not want a larva living to adulthood or you aren't breaking the breeding cycle.
https://www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/download/timeline_scabies_treatment_2022_8x11.pdf
Ivermectin on the Chart is to kill the females laying eggs deep under your skin in the blood layer that the Benzyl Benzoate has a harder time absorbing down to. But if like me your mites are resistent to Ivermectin, use the Bactrim, and also patches saturated with either 100% benzyl benzoate or tea tree oil patches over them if nothing else is working.
If you want ivermectin locally, go to Atwoods or Amazon they have it for horses in a paste, It is dispensed by your weight and the dosage ends up being 2 micrograms per Killogram weight, the same as prescribed for humans for scabies, or there is a place called fastandsafestore, if you type it in your address bar, it takes you to mybudgetpetstore. They sell it in 3 or 5 mg tabs around 22 bucks for 50ct 3 mg made in India or 5mg100ct made in China, that price includes delivery, they are very reliable but it takes around 2 weeks to get to you..They sell it is for Dogs but bottled for humans. I prefer the Ivermectin horse paste because it is made in the USA and I don't have to wait 2 weeks for delivery. I won't use it anymore because the scabies I have had lately were immune to Ivermectin. I just took some In the beginning of my fight before finding Bactrim, hoping it might help.
Did you know the same damn drugs we pay more for than people in other countries like Mexico , are also sold in the US cheaper, but here they are package and sold as only for animals, I got the antibiotic labeled for fish Keflex that worked in previous infections then later the (Bactrim), or 800mg Sulfamethoxazole & 160mgTrimethoprim tablets bottled for fish , and for dogs or horses Ivermectin,
Antibiotics prescribed to people are not also created to be animal specific , but as long as it is sold only for animals, it is not illegal for them to sell most of them without a prescription in the USA. This pisses me off because it is our law makers making laws to try and trick us to buy drugs at the highest cost in the world while still allowing the drug companies to profit off selling the exact same drug for animal use by labeling it as, not for humans. It is a scare tactic lie. In my first infestations of scabies I used the 500MG fish Keflex for my secondary bacterial infection, the dosage was 500mg a day for 2 weeks.
The dosage and expiration date is all that is important as well as finishing the dosage in a period it is normally prescribed for. not just stopping when you think your better.. That goes for any antibiotics to prevent bacteria from surviving and building resistance to it, The Bactrim DS I got from walmartpetrx was dated 11/27 and I bought it 4/23, it was for fish but exactly what they sell for humans.
The FDA is realizing people are catching onto their scam (lie) so they are starting to put more restrictions on these drugs by forcing animal owners to get prescriptions from a Vet.. All in the name of Corporate greed and corrupt politicians at the expense of poor peoples health, people who can't afford health care. New laws are coming March 2023 forcing animal owners to get prescriptions for more drugs.
Since BB or Benzyl Benzoate is used for many other purposes and is not made in a 25% solution for treating human scabies sold in the USA, you can get the ingredients and easily make your own or use the same mixture they sell for humans in Europe bottled and sold only for horses in the USA called Killitch sold on Amazon, it is more expensive than making it yourself, or you can buy it ready made off the link I provided. I made mine off ingredients I bought off ebay.
Benzyl Benzoate cream has 3 ingredients costing around 30 bucks to make 32 ounces which is way more than you might need. I like to have it around in case for later if I get another exposure to them in my yard.
It is suppose to be good for 2 years not mixed yet. It can go bad over shorter time mixed, that is why they say use steril water. Distilled works. Keep refrigerated if storing it long, it can go bad and will smell bad if it does
. Benzyl Benzoate to cure scabies (Benzemul) (greendept.com)

The things you add to the Benzyl Benzoate other than water are
Oleic acid, helps your skin heal and is very mild like olive oil , which also has a lot of Oleic acid in it,
The trithanolamine reduces the surface tension of the oil and water to mix together, it also absorbs better into your skin and it stabelizes the ph.
The Benzyl Benzoate I got was packaged by Plant Guru.
The antibiotics were fishflex brand, I ordered it off of Walmartpetrx.com. 30 Tablets were just under 37 dollars. Their Sulfamethoxazole & Trimethoprim, 30 tablets was under 38 bucks delivered. I chose to take the full course of the bottle for a total of 15 days to be sure any bacteria was killed off. Day 8 of the Bactrim DS and all my sores except one are almost completely healed., just a little redness is left, so much improvement I went to a dermatologist and showed her my before pictures and what I looked like now and she said I was doing great and just gave me some steriod lotion for what was left of the sores.
An hour or so before washing your BB treatment off, you can apply olive oil all over, it helps smother scabies after the Benzyl Benzoate burns them if they are not dead.
Here is a website you want to check out , they sell a mixture you can dilute ready to go.
https://www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/bb.html
Here's the 25%BB recepie for the home made cream to make 12 oz,
for a weaker 12.5% BB lotion just ad 1.5oz Benzyl Benzoate
This is to make 12 ounces (1.5 cups):
3 ounces benzyl benzoate,
1/3 teaspoon triethanolamine
1 and 1/2 teaspoons oleic acid
9 ounces purified water
Mix the Triethanolamine with the Oleic Acid, add the Benzyl Benzoate, and mix.
Transfer the mixture to a suitable container of about 1 cup capacity, add about 2 ounces of Purified Water, and shake the mixture thoroughly.
Finally add the remaining Purified Water, and again shake thoroughly.

Right after the treatments before you shower, so you don't get reinfected after you wash it off make sure everything you exposed your mites to is disinfected, sheets and bedding clean, I Bought a hypoallergenic mattress cover and pillow case covers to make it easier to keep clean of mites.. the other days not right after treatments instead of washing things, I just put my bedding in the dryer for 20 minutes on the highest heat setting, because mites die if they are in 122 degrees fahrenheit for at least 10 minutes. I also did that with any clothing that was clean that mites might be on.
Vacuum your floors and try to limit your exposure to anything or place that you might have contaminated unless you disinfect it with bleach, alcohol, Permethrin or use malathion if you have lab diagnosed case of scabies that are resistant to Permethrin., disinfecting includes, Car, shoes clothes, brushes, keys, furniture, computer keyboards light switches , fridge and doorhandles, your toilet and flush handle and any place you might have left one. The other mites will be on window sills or areas of the house they can sneak in, you will only see ones on their backs because any that can will hide during daylight. They will also be where you frequent, tables desks and beds and the floor.
I used diatomaceous earth, it is like flour but to scabies it is like shards of glass it cuts them and helps dry them out, it is messy just like flour but I sprinkled it on things I could wash or vacuume, and on my mattress before applying sheets and sometimes put it on my skin, Home Depot has it cheapest, might have to order it from their website. I sprinkled it on my floor where I sat and on my chair before I sprayed my house with Elector PSP which professionals use in chicken houses to kill blood sucking mites, it has spinosad in it which a doctor will also prescribe for scabies in a 10% lotion.
I have tried everything , 2 cups Borax in a tub applying salt to your scalp helps kill them, if they are still on you, you will see tiny black specks in your tub after draining it, Use bleach to clean it, some can still be alive.
I found the only dermatologist in my state that was listed for treating scabies. I contacted them about my problem with scabies, and they told me they were not accepting new patients. They might as well banish you to an island to suffer and die. It's like it is your problem and people don't care, this is a serious disease if not stopped, it can cause kidney damage and Rumatic heart fever which damages your heart valve.. scarry. The question is, when you think they have returned, did you just get them again from where you got them in the first time, or were they always hiding on you and you did not know it till they started breeding.
I have gone long periods like 6 or 8 months without having any signs of these bugs on me, reoccourances were always in the spring or fall when blood sucking mites go in your house if you have them outdoors.
I never got any bug bites from my property for 8 years living there, then I temporarily moved to another state for 5 years and got them there sitting on a straw bail, I think they were straw mites , I got rid of them and was free of them for years living in that state, then when I returned to my property in a different state several years later, I got them again, but not right when I got back, but 2 years later while cutting trees in a wooded area on my property. I was never around people to get scabies. But my my neighbors pond right next to my property Geese started flocking there and I think that is why I am getting them now. The geese left and the bugs look for another host any mamal to suck blood from..

They say people getting scabies the first time may not know they have them for 2 weeks, but people who allready had them before will know within 4 days. It is because they change your immune system. The Bactrim can kill good bacteria in your gut so eat probiotics like yogurt to help restore it.
Also I noticed days I ate less it seemed the Bactrim was stronger in my system. it makes you not want to eat, so if you feel like there is too much of it in your system eat something and drink plenty of water while your taking it. If you feel like you are regressing and the infection is gaining ground take the bactrim sooner and you will feel it kick in.
I was taking it every 12 hrs, one day it felt it was not working around hr 9 or 10 so I took one and felt the difference. Be in touch with how you feel, you can tell if there is too much or too little in your system.
Sorry this is mixing scabies with other blood eating mites, but basically the treatments here kill them all. It is just knowing if it is scabies, or other blood sucking mites that determine what you have to do to kill them, but Benzyl Benzoate 25% cream, Bactrim DS as prescribed and salt kills all of them when done right. Then all you have to do is make sure they are dead anywhere else so they do not re infect you.

2023.01.12 09:24 vadroqvertical 3 months update maybe like 60-70%sh back?

So what a 3 months ride so far....
Short summary, Previously healthy athletic male 34, got floxxed for an Unconfirmed UTI (after 10 days all tests where even negative, so was totally unnecessary) by 4x250mg Levo, before Levo I took some weeks Ibuprofen also some topical Cortisteroid Creme (with just 0,5% Hydrocortison), but stopped both like ~1-2 weeks before Levo, not sure if this still triggered it or the fact that I was dog sitting while i took Levo and walked 20k steps a day... anyhow it's in the past, can't change it.
The good news is, most of my symptoms are gone and I had a lot of them. What is left is mainly 3,5 things but I think they are linked to each other, hopefully they will also be gone sooner than later.

  1. Both of my Hamstrings are quiet painfull, I am honestly not sure if it's the tendon to the knee side or if its the muscle which gets super tight (maybe its both). It annoys me day to day, but i can still walk with it if I accept pain (i try to wear a soft brace on the complete Hamstring now). This somehow annoys me more than my Achilles tendon in the beginning as the pain is also there more often. The pain happens 100% when I bendover and also when I Walk fast, but I notice it also while sitting and sometimes when laying around. Stretching (espacially glutes) sometimes helps but sometimes make it worse... I have to add I had this hamstring pain also before flox every now and than, but it only happened after like multiple days of 15-20k steps in the past and was gone after a few days with less steps, so it might be a preinjury which is now back in a more extreme way
  2. cold weather intolerance (not as severe as the beginning) but when I go outside without moving and right now its like 5°C in rainy all the time I start to shake fast, luckily in ~2 months spring happens and than I should be good for some 8 months and next winter I hopefully won't have that anymore
  3. exercise intolerance, if I move it hurts 2-3 days, I have the feeling its also getting better but I also get super tight after doing things, like I overheadpress the empty barbell and 2 days my upper traps and shoulders are tight. Especially cardio exercises makes me more pain, if I ride a stationary bike for 10 minutes with 100 watt I really notice it for 2-4 days so I Stopped doing that for the moment
  4. This is 3.5I sometimes of aches and pains somewhere, but mostly only for a few hours

What I learned this last update is:

My Daily Life looks like this now:

this is the list of my current Supps:

I hope I can reduce them a little further, it's a lot and I dont want to depend on them for the rest of my life, but for the moment this is doing the job quiet well, even though I am certain if I cut 50% of it I won't notice a difference.

to remind me how far I come this are the symptoms which are gone by now

let's hope my hamstring improves, this is most annoying symptom right now
wish you all the best, wanted to write this up to let people see there is improvement possible, but I also wanted to write this down for me because every other day I still feel bad and espacially the hamstring pain makes my head spin around...

2023.01.06 18:13 Klopford 34F enormous painful abscess in armpit, urgent care wouldn’t lance because there was no “head”

34F, 259lbs, 5’1”. Type 2 diabetic, hypothyroid, high blood pressure, PCOS, and I’ve already been told this issue is hidradenitis suppurativa.
I have these abscesses recurring but I’d been flare-free for a year prior to this and now it’s back with a vengeance. Beneath the relatively small “bump” is a hard mass that has almost doubled in size since I saw urgent care on Tuesday. I’d say it’s bigger than a golf ball except it’s flat-ish. It’s warm to the touch and hurts like a bitch (8/10) every time I move my arm. I would HAPPILY consider full surgery to remove this fucking thing entirely at this point instead of enduring a lancing (had those five times before, the incision ain’t bad but the digging is torture!) It was already painful when I went to urgent care but I guess she thought it wasn’t ready to lance at that point? She prescribed bactrim and 800mg of ibuprofen but they fucked up sending it to CVS so I haven’t had any treatment except Advil Dual Action and warm compresses.
Anyway the solid mass is creeping up past the actual crease of my armpit now and I can’t see my GP until Wednesday. Should I keep holding out? How do I know if it’s actually coming to a head? What should I be doing for pain management?

2022.11.11 17:39 CassiopeiaFoon Given two types of antibiotics? And how to help the issues that come with it.

Sex: F (he/him)
Age: 31
Weight: 250
Height: 5ft6
Medications: Lamictal, Trintellix, Birth control, Keflex, Bactrim
Ongoing: Technically five days
Issues: PCOS, BPD, Crohns
Five days ago I noticed a small bump under my arm, it seemed like a pimple or a cyst, which I'm used to so I left it alone. Two days ago I woke up feeling sick as hell. Headache, fever, chills, body aches. I took a COVID test and it came out negative.
That night I started getting random chest pain. I looked under my arm and the lump had grown pretty big (golf ball), and was red and very painful. The pain radiated across my chest and made it feel tight, and my fever wouldn't go away so I went to the ER. I have a history of both cancer and heart issues in my family.
EKG came out ok. Blood work (which was taken several times, they said to check for a heart attack) came out with very high white blood cell count, and two other things that I forget, but they said they meant I was fighting an infection. I also got an X-ray, which showed a small amount of gunk in my lungs. Fever was at 101 at that point. Pain was kind of stabbing across my chest and under my arm. They did a Covid, Flu, and Strep test, all came out negative.
They gave me meds, and my fever went down to 99.8. They said the lymph node under my arm was really swollen, and the lump was (my own words) gross. It's not leaking and they didn't want to cut into it.
I was sent home with 800MG of Bactrim twice a day, and 500MMG of Keflex four times a day.
Since then my fevers been up and down, broke last night and I'm at 98.8 today. Still feel sick and now I have really bad stomach issues from the medicine. I threw up once, and my bowel movements are liquid, and very frequent. I don't want to eat a damn thing, and drinking water just makes it worse.
My question is, why did they give me two? Why so often? Am I really that sick? And two, what can I do for the stomach issues? Can I call my normal doctor for Zofran or something? Pepto doesn't seem to touch it. I've never been put on two antibiotics at once, so I'm just confused and mildly concerned that I'm sicker than I realize.

2022.10.16 15:19 FigureInteresting362 Elevated MPV in dog, what does it mean

We rushed our dog to the vet this morning cause he didn’t want to eat and we noticed he had watery stools. So we got his cbc done, everything is within normal range except for his MPV count, which is slightly elevated. The vets said that it could be that he ate something he wasn’t meant to and it caused an upset stomach. So they prescribed him metronidazole and bactrim forte for 7 days. But I don’t buy it cause our dogs very particular with what he puts in his mouth lol. Does anyone have insight on this? I researched about high MPV in dogs and it said it could be something genetic?
Age: 1 year and 8 month old unneutered Breed: German Sheperd. Medical history: none except that he’s cow hocked if that’s important
