I've been really racking my head through this while looking at other builds. I'm extremely new to PC builds but its something I've been curious about for a while. I'll definitely have some questions as any suggestions roll through, but I'm mostly asking because I havent seen any posts that are asking for a true 50/50 build that functions for gaming as well as video/photo editing. A lot of the information I've gathered so far has been a bit confusing and hard to track.

• Looking to build a PC that doubles as a gaming PC (playing FPS games like Overwatch, Valorant, COD at 1080/4k) and video editing footage in 4k (primarily using davinci resolve, but may use premier pro as well). I'll also be doing photo edits, which figure would be covered by hitting the video editing specs (using photoshop, corel paintshop pro, etc)

• Ideally around <$2000. If I need to spend a bit more for better specs, thats ok.

• I'm in Canada, but I dont know much about microcenters (i'm an absolute noob).

In the past two weeks, two strains of covid have been making headway. Last week, JN.1.13 made headway, while this week it looks to be KP.2 (going from 10-25% of infections.) At this point, it's not cause for alarm, but it's something to keep on the radar, especially since every variant thus far has brought it's own unique set of challenges. If you're vaccinated, everything will likely be fine, if not, good luck on this dice roll. Hope it's not the one that busts you out.
The bird flu (H5N1) that has jumped to cattle is now showing up in 20-40 % of our milk supply indicating more widespread transmission than previously thought. Pasteurization renders the virus inactive and harmless in our milk. I do not have a report on beef yet. I have no idea what it will do to our beef supply.

Seasonal: Influenza-like illness (ILI) is at 2.3%, well below the national baseline of 2.9% which marks the beginning and end of flu season. No jurisdictions are in the very high or high categories; only one (North Dakota) is moderate. All other states are low or minimal.

On H5N1: The same surveillance systems used to track “regular” flu are also used to monitor for the emergence of pandemic influenza — like H5N1. So the continued decline in influenza-like illness, both in outpatient and emergency data streams, is useful reassurance that H5N1 is not circulating in humans.
Moreover, as part of our country’s influenza surveillance, a selection of influenza specimens are sent for additional testing to see what type of influenza it is (e.g., H1N1, H3N2). In the most recent week, for example, 63 specimens were typed. This is one of the ways that H5N1 would be detected.
The other, more likely way is if someone is ill and undergoes diagnostic testing. Most standard diagnostic tests in the hospital or clinic cannot directly confirm an H5 infection. However, they can determine that a person has an influenza A virus that is not type H1 or H3. This result should prompt a clinician to send the sample for further testing to pinpoint the specific type of influenza.

COVID-19

Covid-19 activity is low. The rate of new weekly hospitalizations is still declining, and wastewater concentration is low.

There are a few little hints that have me paying closer attention. First, the variant KP.2, jumped from an estimated 10% of 25% of variants circulating (these estimates are uncertain) in the U.S. Scientists have found that it likely has an advantage over the currently-dominant variants. And the United Kingdom is seeing a small increase in Covid-19 metrics like test positivity, particularly in the oldest age groups. At this point I’m not especially worried that this variant will give us an early summer wave, but I’m keeping an eye on the data just in case.

In other news

• Avian influenza A(H5N1) continues to draw my attention. The virus has now been reported in 34 herds of dairy cattle across 9 states. A federal order requiring testing of lactating cows being moved between states takes effect today, which I expect will increase the number of reported cases.
  
  • It was reported last week that viral RNA was found in some 20-40% of commercial milk samples sourced from multiple states. Testsconfirmed that the virus had been inactivated by pasteurization, meaning it cannot cause infection. The finding suggests significant underascertainment (meaning there are more out there we haven’t found).
  • One of the themes of my career is that rapid, transparent data sharing is absolutely essential to effective outbreak response. We haven’t seen that, yet. CDC has been ramping up information sharing, but data coming out of USDA has been thin. Some genomic data was released recently, but it didn’t have metadata like where or when the samples were collected. No data about how many tests are being run has been shared, either. I would like to see more data sharing in the week ahead so the scientific community can make a better assessment of where things stand, to supplement the work being done in government.
• Now, on to mpox. According to the Associated Press, “Republic of the Congo has declared an epidemic of mpox after 19 cases were confirmed across five departments, including the capital Brazzaville.” The first cases in the country were reported last month. Neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo has been grappling with the virus for some time now.
  
  • The current outbreak is presumed to be clade I, which is different from the clade IIb outbreak implicated in the 2022 epidemic.
  • Epidemiologists in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congohave found evidence that the virus is spreading through heterosexual contact. There is also a large number of cases in children, which could suggest household transmission. Both of these characteristics are new compared to the 2022 event, and raise concerns about wider spread.

Hey guys, a bit of context: Windows 10 updated, and my system stopped recognizing some software related to hardware (such as Ryzen Master, OnScreen LG, etc.), so I migrated to Windows 11, with the upgrade this issue as solved. But a new issue has arisen:
Problem: After approximately 3 hours, the internet connection drops, but only for certain websites and applications. Google and YouTube continue to function normally, while Amazon, Discord, Twitch, Steam and Netflix lose connectivity. The only temporary solution is to either restart the computer or logoff the user.
The Firefox simply does nothing when trying to acess other websites. Chrome/Edge return "ERR_CONNECTION_FAILED".
I've tried several solutions from forums, such as disabling third-party software that starts with the system, resetting the Ethernet adapter, manually settings the DNS. I've also used the "netsh" and "ipconfig" commands for IP and DNS reset and renewal.
I also tried "dism" to search for corrupted keys. "sfc /scannow" for problematic files and drivers. Installing older versions of the network driver. Unfortunately, none of these resolved the issue.
Once the error occurs, nothing I've attempted works except for restarting the computer, after which it functions normally for the same ~3 to 4 hours. Any ideas?

No third-party software or new hardware has been installed lately. Other computers on the network do not experience the issue. The modem can be restarted, but the connection to websites only returns after rebooting the specific computer. A newly created user also has the same problem. PS: Sorry English is not my native language

Have had the laptop for about 4 years now, so it's just out of warranty.
The first issue I had was one of the hinges (right side) broke away from the monitor. So now it's VERY difficult to open/close/flip over.
Now recently is has been crashing. A blue screen with something I can't really read fast enough, but is something along the lines of. " Something had happened and xyz is collecting data.....blah, blah, blah" that's about all I have time to read before it reboots.
How can I figure out what is causing this blue screen crash and boot? This is my first PC with Windows 11 and I fucking hate it.
The only consistent thing I noticed, is it always tends to happen while I am running multiple instances of Bluestacks. I use Bluestacks to play several game accounts at one time. Last yeari could run 3 instances PLUS a BOT and it worked relatively fine. Now. Anytime i load more than 2 instances of Bluestacks, it gets hot (to the touch) and will eventually just blue screen crash.
The cooling system on this laptop SUCKS. I have a small deskfan points directly at the underside of the laptop running at 3/5 speed.
I will add, the laptop has had "rough" life, as my Mom has caught her foot on the cord several times and yanked it off my bed on the floor.
But where can I see the crash log?

Forgot about this story until seeing a slightly related comment about boomers and retail recently. It's a little long in the setup, because I like stories and I think details matter. I'll put a TLDR at the bottom for the attentionally challenged.
I used to work at a big box electronics and appliance store where the buys were just the best. I worked in Inventory, which involved doing receiving of trucks and stocking product. Some of that product was large appliances like stoves and fridges. And when I worked there, our location didn't have a large warehouse space in the back, so the stock for these items were kept out on the sales floor, on shelves high up in the air along the walls. To get to these appliances, we had a hydraulic lift with a platform called a Big Joe. It was like a forklift that you pushed around, and it had a platform on the lifting arms that was big enough for two people and a large appliance to fit on. This allowed you to move the Joe to where you wanted to put the appliance, get on the platform with it, and then go way up into the air to push it from the platform to the shelf. There was a control box on the platform for up and down, and a single button on the base unit that will be important later.
On Wednesday and Saturday mornings, we got our "white goods" trucks in, which are appliances and big TVs. Since those trucks were basically a semi-trailer worth of product that we couldn't fit in the back, we had to move them to the floor quickly and efficiently, to get them out of the way so other trucks could come. And we only had one Joe, so it was doubly important to be quick. One Saturday, I was moving appliances to the floor as fast as I could, which was pretty fast, partly because I wasn't alone doing it. My supervisor Tim was with me, and it's much easier to slide a huge fridge onto a shelf thirty feet in the air.
Tim and I had just pushed a new LG side-by-side out to the floor and were ready to go up with it, when he was called over the radio to come back to Inventory. I honestly can't remember what it was that they needed him for, but whatever it was forced him to leave me there alone on the Joe. Now, I probably should have waited for him, but we needed to get stuff put away, and I'd stocked fridges by myself before. So I decided to do it by myself, and got on the platform and started lifting it. Halfway up in the air, I heard someone say, "Hey," but I ignored it as I was obviously in the middle of doing something that had a slight chance of me falling to my death. As I reached the shelf where I was going to put the fridge, I heard again, "Hey!" It was louder this time, so I looked down and there was Pamela Boomer looking up at me. "I need help," she said.
"Do you need this fridge?" I asked her.
"No, I need help with digital cameras."
I was currently in the appliances corner, which was almost an entire store away from the camera department. I said, "If you go over there, I'm sure somebody will be able to help you." Then I went back to trying to shimmy that big fridge onto the shelf. Now, if you've never been on a platform like this, it's a little unsettling at first, because all of the weight of the machine is in the base, so when you're up in the air it's easy to sway the platform. So when you put some extra mustard into pushing something like a fridge while you're up there, the platform can get to rocking a bit. My next push on the fridge did just that, and I started a-swayin.' I closed my eyes for a second, just to collect myself, and waited for the swaying to diminish. Then I heard Pam again.
"Are you done playing around?" she said. I looked down at her in disbelief, and she said, "I need you to come down here and help me."
"Ma'am," I said, "I'm in the middle of something right now. If you go to the camera department, there will be someone to help you."
She didn't waver. "You need to come down and help me right now. They don't know what they're talking about over there."
"Ma'am," I said again, trying ever so hard to remain polite, "Is there no one down there who you can ask?"
She just said, "I'm asking you." She had the most toddler-esque face I'd ever seen in a grown person, and if she'd crossed her arms and stomped one foot, I wouldn't really have been surprised.
"Well, I'm sorry, but I can't come down. I'm trying to put this fridge away, and it's a little difficult with it being so heavy and the platform swaying--"
And she cut me off. "I don't care about any of that. Come down here and help me."
Tired of arguing, and also because I really needed to get this fridge on the shelf, I said, "As soon as I have the fridge on the shelf, I'll come down and then I'm all yours, okay?" I went back to the fridge, pushed it, and finally got it on the shelf.
Just as my finger was about to touch the down button on the control panel, Pam said, "If you're going to take so long, maybe I don't want your help." Then she pushed the button that I mentioned before. On our Joe, there's an emergency stop button on the base unit, right by the steering handles. This button immediately kills all power to the Joe and has to be pulled back out for anything to work. I couldn't override it while in the air, and I couldn't radio anyone, because Tim had taken the radio with him when he was called back to Inventory. I was effectively stuck thirty feet in the air.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I asked. She looked up at me and made the most "harumph" face I've ever seen, and walked away.
"Hey!" I yelled at her. I might have yelled at her again, but I definitely yelled next for any employee in earshot to come get me down. After someone reset the kill switch, and I was on my way down to the floor, I watched as she walked out of the store, keeping eye contact with me the whole time. When I hit the floor, I ran for the door to see if I could catch her and just ask what the hell is wrong with her, but she was gone. It was like Keyser Soze disappearing at the end of Usual Suspects. Poof she was gone, and credits roll.
TL;DR: Boomer lady doesn't like that I'm thirty feet in the air stocking fridges instead of helping her in a department I don't work in, so she pushes the emergency stop button on my lift, stranding me in the air.

For nearly 2 years I went through the disability process and had a disability lawyer the entire time (which I know they didn't submit all evidence during the first 2 determinations; I didn't know lawyers often did that before I hired them). First the sexism case. I got denied the first 2 times and even the ALJ denied me despite a VERY STRONG case. The ALJ was new (she was practicing for less than a year) and let alone I suspect sexism because my friend went to this same ALJ too and she only had 1 mental hospitalization and got approved. She was treated for 1 year as well. While I have been treated for the same mental illness, Bipolar Disorder, and had 6 mental hospitalizations and treated for over 9 years. Let alone I have additional mental illnesses including ODD, Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder, and severe ADHD. Yet I was denied and even the voc rehab expert at my hearing said I'm unable to work. My friend said the voc rehab expert said she can work at some jobs during her hearing.
Overall makes 0 sense why I was denied after waiting all these years despite having a solid case and the lawyers I got are hard to get because they only take solid cases.
It's so strong that my lawyer wants to take this to the Appeals Council and they next to never go this far with people's cases. The ALJ disregarded the major points of my case and left it out of her report.
I don't know if I should bring any of this up to my lawyers because I don't want my friend in trouble/losing her disability. I agree she needs it too... but find it absolute bs that I was kicked to the dirt despite stronger evidence. Even the frickin' Social Security doctor said I was very disabled and entirely unable to work.
I cannot wait a whole year and a half for a low chance of winning. I just... can't. I'm completely about to do something self inflicted but the only thing stopping me is my partner (we've been together over a year and we're going strong). I want to make our lives a reality but can't without money....I'm in severe debt and life has spiraled out of control. So much.....
I don't know if I should drop my lawyers and just reapply for a higher chance and rehire if I need to see the judge again. OR if I should just stick it out for the Appeals Council... which I feel I have a way lower chance. What do you think is the best thing to do? Should I report the potential sexism/homophobia? Just scared that if I do that my friend will get screwed over, I don't see how but this system is so fucked that who knows anymore.
I want to work part-time because I need more money and cannot survive on SSDI alone. I need SSDI for a cushion because losing jobs is a major issue with me... I've lost over 17 jobs in 7 years... I have a question regarding work on another post.

I’ve never posted anything about this before, and have never discussed my trauma in detail outside of therapy, so this might be long.
Some context/backstory: This happened years ago, starting when I was 19, off and on up until I was 22. I’m AFAB and at the time I Identified as female. For the sake of avoiding confusion I’ll be referring to myself using she/her pronouns, however I use He/Him pronouns now. My abuser (let’s call him Eric) was the same age(s) as me.
Our “relationship” was complicated. He was in a long term relationship with another girl, and I (having extensive trauma prior to meeting Eric) refused to commit to anyone at all by that point.. so we kept it on the DL (and no, at the time I didn’t care that he was dating someone. Only that he was attractive, so I pursued him.)
We were volatile to say the least. Jumping at any opportunity to scream, argue, throw things, and even put hands on each other. It was all foreplay to what the foundation of our relationship was really built on; sex. We both regularly picked fights almost every time we hung out just to segue into long aggressive “sessions”. It was plain to both of us that we were using each other as a destructive and aggressive outlet for our own past traumas. We knew what it was. But seeing as we both partied hard (Coke, weed, molly, and alcohol mostly), and didn’t ask prying questions about each other, it was a match made in hell and clearly destined for disaster.
I want to specifically say that during this time in my life I felt completely numb and dead inside. I was using coke to feel alive, drowning the nasty thoughts late at night with liquor, and self harming (cutting) daily to “manage” the war in my head.
I was the party girl, the one who demanded attention and flirted with everyone. I was invited to most parties and kickbacks because I was a social chameleon (masking) and got along well with anyone.
The only time I felt alive was when I was using with Eric. We would buy a couple 8 balls and go through it all in a weekend. When I eventually decided to quit, Eric was pissed and unsupportive to say the least. He regularly bought more, and pressured me -often times until I gave in- because that was when we both really “let go” and got into kinkier things.
The night our situationship ended was one of the nights where I adamantly refused to get high.
Eric was having a small party, and his girlfriend was out of town, so naturally I took my place by his side. I was drinking and having a good time just buzzing around from group to group, but he kept pressing and pressuring me to do some lines with him and his guy friends. First of all, I had never met these friends. Secondly, I was trying to stop using as it was, I didn’t like to get high around other people if they weren’t close friends, LET ALONE people I didn’t know. So I refused, and things escalated to where we were yelling at each other and causing a scene. He took my phone, so it then escalated even more to where we were SCREAMING at one another. He yelled for everyone to leave and I thought at this point we would either fight or fuck our way back into an agreeable place.
I was drunk enough to not be able to drive, or even entertain the idea of a dramatic exit. I had also planned on spending the night partying pretty hard and sleeping over, so I was dropped off and effectively stranded without my phone. I wasn’t drunk enough to forget though.
When Eric announced that everyone needed to leave, I stormed away, went into his room, and waited for him to come in so we could finish this. I waited and waited until finally Eric came into the room holding a rolling tray with A LOT of coke on it, accompanied by three of the men he was trying to get me to party with earlier in the evening. He said to me that he wasn’t asking, he was TELLING me I was going to get high with them. I was terrified, so I railed the fat line he made for me. The four of them then did their lines. After that, Eric told me to take my clothes off. All of the anger and confidence I had died away the second he confirmed my suspicions. I just melted and started crying and begging him to stop this and to just give me my phone back. Instead he walked toward me, and I walked backwards away from them until I was pressed against the far wall. He grabbed me, and they all ripped my clothes off. I was tied to his workout equipment on the wall standing with my arms tied above my head. At first they were just standing around me, describing the things they liked about my face and my body and how they were going to hurt me. They were telling me awful things about myself. They little amount I HAD opened up to Eric over the years was weaponized and twisted and used to degrade me. I was sobbing before they even started. They hit me and slapped me and then they took turns using me. I was moved to his bed, and forced to do more lines with them before they continued. At some point Eric grabbed a razor blade and dragged it across my back several times (we had experimented with knife/blood play in the past that ended with disastrous results, and we never tried it again). When I cried out one of them slapped me in my thigh where I had self harmed. They mocked me and made fun of me for hurting myself. They made it seem like this was something I was used to and even enjoyed. They made me tell them I did enjoy it. They made me say a lot of things.
The absolute worst part for me though, was that I had an orgasm. I had never felt more disgusted with myself than in that moment. I felt utterly betrayed by my own body. I can’t even begin to describe the pain and turmoil that I felt. I couldn’t even rely on myself. I truly wanted to die. And worse, when I finished, they all laughed at me. The second it happened they paused and just laughed at me. As if it confirmed to them that I actually WAS enjoying myself like the twisted slut they said I was all along.
I don’t know how long I was in the room. It carried on like that for awhile I think, moving me around, mocking me, making me do even more coke. At one point they forced me to look at myself in Eric’s bedroom mirror and repeat what they said while they used me. After forever had passed, the 3 friends left and I was alone with Eric. I saw his feet across the room by his closet, but I wouldn’t look at him anymore than that. I don’t know why, but he said nothing. I said nothing too. I just kind of laid there collecting myself in silence. After a while he just up and left too. Nothing ever said. No explanation or even acknowledgment of what had just happened. Eventually I got up, threw on clothes I found in his closet and walked out. My phone was out in the livingroom on the table, and I remember thinking to myself that it was positioned almost mockingly close to the front door this entire time. I walked about a half mile away until I was at my old elementary school and then called as many people as I could until someone woke up and came to get me.
I never told the friend that picked me up what happened, just sat mostly in silence and then paid him for the ride once I was home. After that, I went inside cooked and ate an entire bag of chicken nuggets and watched Moana until the sun rose and my roommates were waking up. I wasn’t able to sleep for several days following that. I spent most of the time in bed with my dog, or sitting in the shower for hours at a time.
~ I don’t want to get into details about why, but I never pursued legal action. His fathers job made it near impossible to pursue without a huge fight and even then it wasn’t something that i thought would work out in my favor. ~
I’ve spent the last 6 years of my life trying to piece myself together after that. I had experienced awful things in my past, but that moment was the moment that truly broke me. It made me feel like I was worthless. Below worthless, utterly and irredeemably disposable. I hated myself to my core. I hated every single thing about myself separately and individually. I especially hated my body for how it responded, and it took me years of faking orgasms with partners and intense therapy for me to let myself feel like I deserved to finish. simply put: I was completely undone.
I couldn’t stand silence after that anymore. Anytime I caught myself in a quiet place my heart would race and my mind would bring myself mentally back there in Eric’s bed. Used and discarded. Wondering why my body betrayed me, why did I walk in his room? How else did I think our relationship would end? There was a pattern, I was the only constant and it was my fault. Everything was my fault.
I couldn’t stop thinking.
I don’t think I ever DO stop thinking. Almost obsessively thinking and rethinking my life choices and decisions. How it’s going to effect my future. Always have a plan, always have a backup plan. Always have a backup plan for the backup plan. It’s just easier to quiet down my thoughts with music or some kind of distraction.
Circling back to my initial question; even now that I’ve been hard at work addressing and unpacking what happened to me, and even though i’m in a safe place with a wonderful family and a partner who is very supportive and understanding..I feel like a part of me was left behind in that room that night. I feel like it effortlessly pulls me right back there whenever it gets the chance no matter how much I unpack it. Sometimes I think that i’ll feel this way forever.

Reading over some recent discussions of people looking for the newer Ubiquiti multi-gig RJ45 SFP+ adapter, I figured I'd write this up to inform people who are looking for one as well as why some may not be better than others.
First off, the decision of which one to buy will depend entirely on your needs.
1) If you're looking for an adapter that will do just 10Gb to 10Gb, the choices are plenty and bountiful. The only difference will be the distance you need, most of the ones on the market at this point will be 30m or 60m. Just a reminder these are in meters, 1m is ~3.28ft.
2) If you're looking for something that will do proper multi-gig (2.5 and 5Gb included), that can narrow your selection a bit. Getting a normal 30/60m module can present issues like poor or unexpected throughput speeds. Therefore, you're going to want one of the three following options, in the following order depending on availability:

• Wiitek's 100m RJ45 SFP+ 10GbE module
• Ubiquiti's "MG" 10GbE module option (specifically the one that has "MG" (multi-gig) in the SKU)
• Mikrotik S+RJ10

The first two options are utilizing a newer Broadcom chipset that not only properly supports multi-gig speeds (2.5/5Gb), but also uses less power, and, therefore, runs a bit cooler inside of a system. From personal experience, I would not hesitate to use these inserted into adjacent SFP+ slots as some manufacturers have traditionally recommended against with other 10GBASE-T modules. These also support distances of a full, ethernet-spec, 100m out of the box (this is how you can tell it's using the newer Broadcom chipset for any future new modules that might pop up).
The Mikrotik is also a great option but it unfortunately runs just as hot as other 30/60m modules and has the same shortcomings on that end, aside from that it still does properly support 2.5 and 5Gb.
As far as functionality, if you use one of these 3 modules, you do not have to worry about your switch or router it's plugged into being able to support negotiating at 2.5 or 5Gb, the module itself will downsample the negotiation speed for you. One the device side, it'll show you negotiated at 10Gb, while whatever you're plugged into will show a proper 2.5 or 5Gb negotiation.
As an aside, if you know you only will need 2.5Gb, I've used these modules with success in various devices, so if you want to save a bit of money this should also properly work.
And as always, if you can use Fiber, you should.

Well hello! Thank you for taking a look at my post. I am Jake! 26 and physically, 5'8, 166 pounds, white male and I'm from California.
So about me...! I majored in history in college and got a degree in it. I was going to be a teacher but ultimately decided not to for numerous reasons. For now I help out on the family property while trying to figure what I want to do as an actual job to live and all.
Interest wise I am a massive bibliophile with 1550 books and always adding more even if I am wanting to slim it down a bit. Most of it is history, fantasy or mystery. Otherwise I love to game (PS5, Switch primarily) with a preference for single player games, listen to music (dnb, rock and whatever strikes my fancy), podcasts, diy projects and jogging/nature walks. I am sure I am forgetting stuff as well.
As for what I am looking for? A woman that is intelligent and able to hold a conversation well. Compassionate and has hobbies and is passionate about them and wants to discuss them. A side plus is if you also like to read but that is in no way a requirement. Otherwise I would like her to be fairly fit or working towards that (as I have been for a few years now so it would be nice to support one another). Oh and age range, please be between 22 and 29. Closer to the West Coast is highly prefered for time zone/meeting reasons but not required. Oh and ideally not a big drinker (socially is fine) or smoke420 (not appealing to me).

SEASON 23 gets a 6/10
*************************************
This season had some good aspects but felt underwhelming overall so is ranked near the bottom. The cast was average besides 3 teams (Leo/Jamal, Tim/Marie, Nicole/Travis who were all pretty dynamic), the route was average (no new countries or anything unique), challenges were okay but few standouts, winners were very forgettable and drama was okay but nothing special. It was an enjoyable season (so gets a 6) but not much stands out as ‘fantastic’.

General Thoughts

• Immediately I felt the cast wasn’t great, and a cast is the most important element of a good season. Only 3 teams (Leo/Jamal, Tim/Marie Nicole/Travis) had dynamic personalities or storylines while the rest were either bland or 1 dimensional. This cast also felt very gimmicky and mactorish which was a big turnoff when introduced in the 1st leg. It had ChesteEphraim (former footballers), Nicky/Kim (baseball wives), Jason/Amy (Miss Rhode Island), Tim/Marie (sport agent and “friends” with Kim’s husband which is another big turnoff when casting is taking contestants from a similar pool), Nicole/Travis (married doctors), Rowan/Shane (theatre performers), Ally/Ashley (LA Kings Ice Crew workers) and most of the others just felt loud and unrelatable. And teams like Leo/Jamal and Tim/Marie felt like they were playing up to the camera a lot. Probably the least relatable cast so far. Some likeable and interesting teams amongst them though.
  
• While there was some interesting drama, it did come off as annoying sometimes. Tim/Marie giving away the 2nd Express Pass was a big storyline at the start but was mentioned WAY TOO MUCH (it was like this in TAR22 too but TAR23 was worse). After 4 episodes we were like “just hurry up and give it to someone!” There were some interesting alliances (Jason/Amy and Nicole/Travis helping eachother, as well as Leo/Jamal and Ally/Ashley “The Ice-ganimals”) and rivalries (Tim/Marie and Leo/Jamal causing conflicts with other teams). It did have some surprise early boots with 3 alpha male teams (ChesteEphraim, Brandon/Adam, Tim/Danny) all leaving early which felt unique. I don’t understand why they would cast 5 male/male teams after we just had 2 male/male winners in a row…and only cast 2 female/female teams? They lucked out though with an interesting boot order.
  
• Jason/Amy were very forgettable and underwhelming winners unfortunately. They are up there with TyleJames as very unremarkable. I found Jason/Amy very boring and they weren’t even super sweet like Anthony/Bates or TK/Rachel so they were just this boring middle ground. Leo/Jamal were the ideal outcome being the fan favorites, or even an underdog story like Nicky/Kim winning. A Tim/Marie win would have been crazy and unique. Nicole/Travis crashing and burning in the 2nd half was more satisfying than them winning. So another outcome that is “that random boring couple/alpha males won…now time to move on”.

Route

• Not a great route but not terrible. While there were some stunning locations (such as castles in Portugal and Austria, the midnight sun in the Arctic Circle with the Viking longhouse, the deserts near Abu Dhabi, the crater and rural Indonesia looked fantastic, the Shibuya scramble…for the 3rd time), there were also no new countries and no Africa or Oceania. The movie ranch was NOT an epic starting line (TAR22 proved Los Angeles can still have epic starting lines) and Alaska as a finale leg is very overused.
  
• Most of the challenges were okay! I enjoyed the shoe shining (some chaos), measuring Magellan’s journey within 500 nautical miles, polka dance/dressing as Neptune for tips, singing with the Vienna boys choir, sorting dates/making the fishing net, dressing a camel for a beauty contest haha, transporting awkward ingredients like sugar cane across town in taxis, making the angklung instrument (mostly interesting because of Nicole), boiling eggs (an interesting concept with being patient but may have worked better with more teams than just 4), painting partner in makeup/searching the plants and the Japanese robot puzzle. A few that weren’t that interesting (like always) but overall they tried making each one either interesting or challenging.
  
• This season basically had the same format as TAR22 which I don’t mind. It brought back the twist where the winner of the Express Pass gives a 2nd one to another team. I liked this twist because it isn’t game changing but encourages inter-team dynamics and strategy (and provided some good moments this season). Besides that, this season also had 2 Double U-Turns, 1 Fast Forward, Speed Bumps and 1 Keep on Racing leg. Just like TAR22.

Cast Ranking
1.Leo/Jamal - the Afganimals were the obvious fan favorites! They aren’t for everyone - they do ham it up for the cameras A LOT (Yelling LALALALA, dancing, imitating the elephants and being LOUD) but I still liked their enthusiasm and fun commentary like joking that Ally/Ashley were their race wives (“My wife is flying off with another man” when paragliding). They were also sneaky (such as “My wife is pregnant”) and lied just for the fun of it (lying about not U-Turning Brandon/Adam, lying about the challenge taking hours, lying about Tim/Marie being ahead). But I appreciate teams that cause friction and some drama…while also managing to be likeable and providing some laughs. Also somewhat became a “final boss” at the end where every other team wanted them out and worked together to do so.

1. Tim/Marie - were the next big characters! Their banter and roasting each other was hilarious (“I didn’t know they made voices as shrill as yours” - “Well I didn’t know they made people as dumb as you” haha) and Marie was such a ballsy and wacky individual who claims she’s “always right” and demanded a 60-40 split of the winnings haha It’s fascinating having 2 individuals who hate eachother (the Japanese host saying “American love story” but Marie calling them “American horror story” haha) but I sort of picture them being fun friends in a way. Besides their bickering, Marie was also pushy at the start trying to leverage the Express Pass at every chance (“Remember we have an Express Pass”) and not afraid to steal a taxi (and blame Leo/Jamal). She was petty and bitchy but also aware of it “I’m mad because they did something I would have done”. Sometimes their fights came off as playing up for the camera but still witty and entertaining! And a pretty strong team too!
   
2. Nicole/Travis - had one of the most unique storylines in that they started off as these likeable and dominant “power parents” but the second half they were a disaster - Nicole freaked out at multiple challenges and Travis was impatient and tough on her. Possibly the biggest editing nosedive of a team ever - and I found it fascinating! They weren’t necessarily likeable but I liked Nicole mentioning “Express Pass” EVERY episode, hilariously blackmailing Tim/Marie for it, plus some sassy looks! They got a hypocritical edit where they wanted to be role models for their kids…but were then shown not being that honourable (Nicole trying to cheat off Leo and begging for help is one of my favorite moments) and were carried to the end by their allies Jason/Amy. Also Travis previously mentioned about staying unflustered and wanting their children to see them working together well haha I much prefer a messy team like this than the actual inspirational ones.
   
3. Nicky/Kim - had everything needed to be a ‘likeable underdog team’ but I found them hard to root for because they were “baseball wives” rather than “regular people”. But I still liked them. They weren’t huge characters but were very sweet, endearing, and actually quite independent and strategic, like plotting with Tim/Marie and then getting in front of the counter. They weren’t pampered divas AT ALL like many expected. They also felt down to earth with some witty comments such as “she's like Cameron Diaz in my best friend's wedding” at the opera challenge and getting excited “Our cab has pink on it” haha. Some cute moments like “We’re not bunnies anymore…we are ninjas” but after struggling at that wave pool “I think we’ll just go back to being bunnies” haha Enjoyed seeing them scrape through each week.
   
4. Jason/Amy - I’m not a fan of the “generic couple” archetype and Jason/Amy were basically just that, and they weren’t that interesting or memorable. However I ranked them higher because of their role in a few dramas like their fight when Tim/Marie stole their taxi, as well as their alliance with Nicole/Travis. Helping other teams at the final 4 created some interesting discussions, especially when Nicole/Travis were a bigger threat than Ally/Ashley. I remember Jason randomly asking if Indonesians were like Asians or Indians haha But forgettable as characters.
   
5. Tim/Danny - had the “needs the money” backstory and a very sad elimination with Tim struggling at the choir challenge (arguably unfair because Tim was just a terrible singer so not sure if he could have done much better). Team Oklahoma had some good banter dressing up as the couple (“wanting rock scissors paper” to determine who was the woman, humorously arguing and suggesting things like 1 was smaller or more attractive as a woman) and helped Ally/Ashley with their truck..but nothing special. Not overly memorable but still a likeable team!
   
6. Brandon/Adam - another fun likeable male team who always seemed to be enjoying the race…and lived in the woods. A few fun confessionals and making their own fishing rods to fish on the boat in Norway. Started out strong (including a 1st place before their elimination) but had 1 bad leg with a bad Detour choice and a U-Turn. In a way I liked these shock eliminations. Similar to Tim/Danny in that they were likeable but not that memorable.
   
7. Rowan/Shane - had some fun moments like “Phil don’t fall asleep” when they finally arrived at the pit stop, “My name is not Rowan for nothing” when rowing and telling Shane to stop talking on the bikes because they are wasting “air” haha. We don’t see “2 older goofy men” often and I like older, unfit teams who are a bit of a disaster. Team Bingo were wacky and funny like a modern Steve/Dave. They had a disaster of a leg - wrong bus, hilariously taking a local shoe shiner’s cart (one of the best moments of the season) and calling Marie “el diablo” haha One of the more memorable early boots and would have been unique characters if they somehow lasted longer.
   
8. Ally/Ashley - they were the “dumb blondes” but pretty forgettable and just didn’t have any charisma like Caroline/Jennifer or Liz/Marie. One of them wanted to find love…but was then reminded that she had a boyfriend haha plus calling Abu Dhabi “Abu Dubai” and were edited as just riding Leo/Jamal’s coattails. I actually would have liked them more if they had more dumb moments - they weren’t great racers, but not in a funny way. And Nicky/Kim were definitely the more endearing underdog team. They had a big fight in their elimination episode and would have been more entertaining if they were like this more often.
   
9. Naina/Hoskote - felt less mactorish and had a storyline of Hoskote wanting an arranged marriage for his daughter and being old fashioned. If they lasted longer, they could have had a Ron/Christina type storyline with Hoskote showing signs of being “real truth flavour” haha, and there was some very mild bickering in leg 1. However they didn’t really stand out in their 1 leg and didn’t have much of an interesting storyline or a memorable elimination.
   
10. ChesteEphraim - seemed fun and likeable in their short stay with “We’re heavy, it’s gonna take a mountain of salt to make us float”, “You were easy to spot - you looked like a military jeep under the parachute” and comparing themselves to the Beekman Boys when struggling at the airport. They came in 1st in leg 2 and were a shock elimination in leg 3 with their bad luck with their flight connections and delays. Were eliminated at the airport after falling a day behind! Usually find it hard to root for alpha male teams (especially former athletes) so that’s the main thing that separates them from the teams ranked just above them (2 blondes and a fathedaughter team).

Leg Rankings
1.Leg 9 - Indonesia (F5 - Ally/Ashley eliminated) - a fantastic leg that sets up the final 5 so well with a chaotic location in Bandung, trains, cultural animal tasks (ram fighting, making birds sing, feeding elephants), drama (Leo/Jamal vs Nicole/Travis over the U-Turn), great detour (Ally/Ashley not going to the market first, teams hilariously trying to fit sugarcane into taxis…the poor taxi drivers), Ally/Ashley arguing and pleading for help, and some placement shifts at both the Detour and Road Block. The best part was the storyline of Nicole/Travis being like “we want to be a beacon for God’s light” and continually critiquing Leo/Jamal for playing unethically….and then ending with Nicole’s hilarious meltdown at the anklung Road Block (hypocritically trying to look at Leo’s, getting frustrated with the children “Don’t laugh, you have to help the lady” haha, Travis groaning in disappointment “She doesn’t know an octave is 8”). Tense ending with Nicole begging Amy to help her with Ally/Ashley getting closer!

1. Leg 5 - Poland (F8 - Brandon/Adam eliminated) - navigation dramas, great tasks, U-Turn drama, great location in Gdansk, banter between teams, Express Pass used and lots of action. The Express Pass cliffhanger is resolved haha The polish dance was fun with Tim/Danny bantering about being the woman and struggling “I’m a white body with 2 left feet…and I have 3 left feet” haha and the judge “don’t fight with each other” and Tim ripping his pants. The huge apartment building Road Block was basic but had some fun moments between teams - Some teams working together, Tim and Jason randomly dancing, Travis pressing the elevator on every floor for Kim haha and Tim having to warn Marie that you can get a penalty for “bad manners”. Plus some nice interactions with locals. Some navigational issues and Brandon/Adam get tricked by Jason/Amy’s taxi driver haha Brandon/Adam had a disastrous leg after finishing 1st at the “Keep on Racing” (shock elimination). Great episode but misses #1 because it had bigger moments.
   
2. Leg 11 - Japan (F4 - Leo/Jamal eliminated) - a very exciting final 4 elimination with some great inter-team drama! A few too many wacky Japanese tasks though rather than cultural tasks - walking vending machines, crazy game shows, jump into a telephone box filled with water, cat temple, capturing a rhino in a suit, and a robot greeter. Detour was too easy for a final 4 (especially answering the phone underwater - awful) and the rhino Speed Bump was embarrassing…but I loved the robot Road Block - placement shifts, Amy and Nicole working together, Amy staying behind to help Nicole who was freaking out again, and Travis ridiculing Nicole afterwards (and Jason frustrated that Amy wasted time helping). It was sad seeing Nicole so sad and disappointed when Travis should have been relieved a team was behind. Great storylines for the final 4 with everyone vs Leo/Jamal (plus losing Tim/Marie while searching the park) and memorable elimination. Unfortunately the weak challenges let it down a bit though.
   
3. Leg 2 - Chile (F10 - Rowan/Shane eliminated) - Some drama at the start with Tim/Marie trying to dictate lines at the hours of operation with Afganimals calling them “Pinky and No Brain” haha with teams annoyed by them for the whole leg, Ally/Ashley call her miserable (love this trashy drama). Reading the newspaper on saltwater was one of those “silly” challenges but had Nicky/Kim having a minor meltdown and Nicole “What a lovely way to start my birthday, a salt bath with my husband”. Some Detour switching and Nicole crashing her bike. Some interesting bus scrambles with Rowan/Shane getting confused and picking a later bus. The shoe shining Road Block was fun and tense at the end - Rowan taking a random person’s shoe shining equipment haha (and calling Marie the devil haha), Kim forgetting equipment with Marie not giving her the Express Pass (earlier had an alliance because Tim knows Kim’s husband), Leo/Jamal missing out on 1st because they didn’t pay their driver, and just felt so much more exciting than leg 1.
   
4. Leg 10 - Indonesia (F4 - Non elimination) - a fun leg despite being an obvious non-elimination. Challenges weren’t great but the teams made them better than they should have been. Eating the cobras was a lame eating challenge…but Marie being a picky eater had fun moments. Boiling the eggs in the volcanic crater was also a dull challenge…but had teams having to redo it plus Marie freaking out again because she’s never boiled an egg and wasn’t even putting the eggs into the water haha (but surprisingly got it on her 1st try). Painting their partnesearching the fields also had fun moments especially painting the men with Nicole “My husband looks like the sexiest drag queen ever” (and Phil calling him an angry showgirl) and Marie “You’re so metro, you’ll be fine”. Leo/Jamal also lie again and then have to confess (about Tim/Marie being ahead). Felt like a tense ending with Leo/Jamal struggling to find the shears, switching, immediately leaving at “shave your beards” haha but still felt close. More drama in the ones above it though.
   
5. Leg 6 - Austria (F7 - Tim/Danny eliminated) - just an “okay” leg but the taxi drama raises it up higher plus the singing challenge at the end. Assembling the chandelier looked interesting but all teams chose matching the masks which wasn’t that difficult or interesting (which Marie said “We did it in like 3 minutes”). Some drama with Jason/Amy trying the bungy jump Fast Forward but choosing to leave due to weather (tense deciding whether to wait or leave with the wind). But the German opera song was a nice tough task with lots of teams together (Tim really struggling and the judge being like “That was terrible” haha). It felt a little bit long and drawn out though. Also a random scene where clowns appear “When you said clowns, I got scared because I thought you meant the Afganimals were here” haha Leo/Jamal also lie about the U-Turn. Tim/Marie stealing Jason/Amy’s taxi and arguing on the mat was the highlight. Would rank higher if the leg was more interesting overall.
   
6. Leg 7 - United Arab Emirates (F6 - Non elimination) - another “okay” leg. Some airport banter with Marie complaining about Nicky/Kim chatting on and on with their airport staff, and also Tim getting over the Jason/Amy drama because we’re dudes and then calls Marie a “dude” haha Then visited mosques in Abu Dhabi with a nice scene of Nicky/Kim reflecting on Arab culture and not to judge a group of people by one’s actions. Ally/Ashley also hope Leo/Jamal help them there because “it’s a man’s world” and also “Abu Dubai”. Sorting dates/assembling fishing net were both challenging detours, Tim/Marie hilariously bicker (Nicky/Kim being like “As an American, it’s embarrassing”) and Nicky/Kim keeping one of the locations a secret from the other teams and Nicole/Travis struggle putting together the net (the start of their downfall). The repel and racecar Road Block weren’t that interesting at the end (Kim was scared of heights…and cars). Also the ferries before the Road Block made it obvious that Nicky/Kim weren’t catching up.
   
7. Leg 3 - Portugal (F9 - ChesteEphraim eliminated) - a modern season with a classic flight scramble! This took up half the episode…and I don’t mind because I love flights and travel - they’re the heart and soul of the race more than challenges. Aggressively trying to get on standby, a team books the wrong date, a clash between Nicky/Kim and Tim/Marie, a few teams work together (and Tim/Danny don’t trust the Afganimals’ alliance), Marie tries to get information from Tim/Danny, and ChesteEphraim’s bad luck becoming “Beekman Boys part 2” haha Such classic feels! The Lisbon section was pretty dull though with ChesteEphraim as obvious boots and dull tasks (Detour may have been better with teams together), but I also like when teams are far apart from flights and can keep their leads. Ashley is inspired by her Portuguese grandfather with Leo “My race wife is Portuguese” haha Leo/Jamal lying about the tiles challenge taking a long time and Tim/Marie not using the Express Pass were the only notable things though. Average overall!
   
8. Leg 12 - USA (F3 - Finale) - a dull finale but not necessarily terrible. Alaska has been done many times before and no challenges stood out as memorable plus boring winners. And there wasn’t any drama between these teams like there usually is, and Marie had no crazy moments. Nicole being a hot mess was the only highlight - failed the supply drop Road Block, dropped her pick on the ice climb haha, Travis told her to stop rowing because she was that bad, and then at the final puzzle Travis just groaned at how useless she was “I’m basically doing the whole thing myself” haha A fitting ending for them! Unfortunately Jason/Amy left the Road Block first and just never lost their lead. That’s also why TAR16, TAR17, TAR19 and TAR22 were also underwhelming finales - the team that leaves the first challenge first never loses their lead. It looked like all teams were together at the final puzzle (remembering the currencies wasn’t a bad idea) but it just didn’t feel tense enough. The last 3 are also boring, but at least this had the excitement of the finish line.
   
9. Leg 4 - Norway (F8 - TBC) - had the gimmick of “daytime at 1:00am” but nothing much happened besides Nicole aggressively asking for the Express Pass in return for helping Tim/Marie (who missed their clue). Nicole “I want that Express Pass, I want that Express Pass” with a hilariously sassy look to the camera…and To Be Continued haha. One of the best moments of the season…however the rest of the leg was dull. Both Detours were just “doing boring things with fish” plus hanging up the fish heads was so much quicker that it seemed unfair. The Detour really only had Nicky/Kim “The Cod Queens” struggling to carry the fish and freak out that they’ve lost their clue (but it’s in her mouth haha). Tim/Marie also place the fish on the wrong pole and try leveraging the Express Pass with Brandon/Adam ignoring and mocking her (they may actually need this the next day haha). Jumping into the cold ocean and moving the boulder with your car “Ford product placement” were also boring besides Ally/Ashley almost driving their car over a cliff haha
   
10. Leg 8 - United Arab Emirates (F6 - Nicky/Kim eliminated) - didn’t have much happen despite another U-Turn. It had desert scenery but teams were mostly in the same order with no equalisers and Nicky/Kim never caught up. In fact Nicky/Kim’s buggy got stuck in the sand and then got U-Turned and a Speed Bump…so just fell further behind. Preparing the wedding dish/grooming a camel weren’t great. Preparing a camel for a beauty contest was a funny concept I guess, with the camels kicking and teams laughing about their hot camels. The rafting Road Block was boring and easy…even Nicole did it with no problems haha The wave pool Speed Bump was a bit silly but worked well with Nicky/Kim being scared. Some of the U-Turn drama was okay but nothing special - Nicole/Travis strategically using the Express Pass to get to the board first, Tim/Marie U-Turned Nicky/Kim because of a petty rivalry, and Leo/Jamal lying about how easy the cooking challenge was (they switched). But dull overall!
    
11. Leg 1 - Chile (F11 - Naina/Hoskote eliminated) - a very boring premiere and very similar to TAR20’s very boring premiere (ep2 is also similar to TAR20’s ep2). A dull heights challenge where the person NOT doing the Road Block is completing the paraglide (same twist as TAR20’s skydive except paragliding is less scary). Following the paragliders (the actual task) wasn’t that hard with the only interesting thing being Marie taking Jamal’s taxi and him saying “Bitch”. The paragliding only had Kim being slightly scared, and doing it for her children…named Spidey and Baboo haha. Then a 2nd dull challenge just like TAR20 (rowing a boat and collecting fish) where the only difficulty was 2 team members accidental doing both Road Blocks. Ally/Ashley tipped off Leo/Jamal about their Road Block mistake. And just like TAR20, not many teams stood out, no drama and it was a dull looking South American city. The only highlights were Nicole/Travis taking a taxi instead of walking and Tim/Danny having a language barrier in the US haha

Summary
So the best way of describing this season is - not terrible but not much stands out as “fantastic”. This season needed some more dynamic characters (and less gimmicky/mactorish/camera aware), a more likeable final 3, more interesting winners, and some more memorable moments. Around half the episodes I’d regard as average or dull. It did have some interesting parts due to some drama (mostly due to the polarising characters of Tim/Marie, Nicole/Travis and Leo/Jamal) and some top episodes. I found it similar to TAR4 and TAR15 in that they had a dull feel overall but some fun characters here and there. Enjoyable enough so still scrapes through with a 6/10 which is still “good”.

I am not a veteran, but I have a question about my husband. He hurt his back while working on a wall of sandbags at Tan Son Nhut AF Base in 1970. His military medical records show he received a prescription for back pain. He filed for disability in 1971 but was denied and didn't pursue the claim after he left the military. He continued to have pain when he aggravated his back and has received a variety of medical and alternative treatments ever since. A neurosurgeon operated on the disk in the early 80s. He needed surgery on the same disk again in the 90s. He's again scheduled for surgery in 2024 but is fairly mobile because he had his second ablation (which gives temporary relief) a few months ago. Now, he has chronic kidney disease, most likely from decades of NSAIDs (at prescribed dosages). He had private medical care, not VA. Any advice?

Approved by the mods in beforehand. I created a custom chat GPT for the 2023 tax declaration in BL (Baselland) and had it tested by 2 tax advisors (one from BS and one from BL). They loved it and got a bit scared. Some people from mustachian and Swisspersonalfinance also try it right now.
It works pretty well, for my own declaration and for friends. If enough people like it and especially provide feedback, I will do the leg work for other cantons as well.
When using Taxpert Tom 2023 BL always prompt “look in your own document library for detailed answers, and say you want references”.
It might also work without the prompt but is a lot more sophisticated and exact with it. OpenAI seems to save on GPU and that is why some GPTs seem lazy or buggy. You can see from the purple “searching my knowledge” sign that GPT Tom is following your instructions.
You can also ask Tom for the % of certainty in the answers.

Including the taxbooks, the tax laws, ESTV-documents, press releases for 2023 and presentations from the officials but also from the most common financial products and some less common ones (e.g. DFA funds, tiny crypto currencies) that I had to use for my own declaration (100% referenced). 10% is tax advice from public (referenced) and non-public sources (referenced where appropriate). Total is about 12k pages of PDF and .txt files. Additionally, I asked the tax officials at Baselland 19 questions and I included all their answers (which were great btw, easy to understand, exact, short, non-ambigious). If you asked the officials and received answers I could add them to the knowledge base.
Q2: Is there a BS version yet? A2: Nope. I did not collect enough feedback for the BL version, so my processes become more efficient.
Q3: Does it automatically looks for recent publications or someone needs to feed it? A3: It previously offered excessive, irrelevant details while searching for new online publications and often provided inaccurate, verbose responses. Also, lying was more prevalent. Currently, it requires manual effort (on my side). Thankfully, 2023's laws and regulations are fixed and finite. While integrating APIs is feasible, I first need to assess if others find it user-friendly, given that I configured it myself.
Q4: Could you create that for ZH? A4: I was planning ZH and BS next, due to size and ease of language for me but would need more feedback on possible improvements, so play around and lmk what I might improve.
Q5: Do you earn anything or do market research? A5: Nope. This is not commercial nor do I own anything. It was helping me, so it might be helpful to you.

I've had some troubles for a month now where i'm obsessed with doomscrolling, watching people argue on reddit and going to russian Z telegram channels.
I had to build an elaborate system on my PC with browser extensions and Cold Turkey software to block out some subreddits and channels, and even this amount of layers barely stopped me in the first few days but it's gotten a little bit better.
I've had the StayFocused app in Strict Mode on my phone for this same reason for a while and it seemed to work until I discovered that flicking an app into the Recent Apps screen not the whole way on my Samsung just broke it and it didn't block anything after doing that, rendering it useless with a single action.
The same thing happens with AppBlock and Blocksite, again, they are pretty much useless because of it, changing the navbar type doesn't help that much, these apps still tend to break under enough pressure.
Now I'm using Lock Me Out and it kinda works? I like how it handles tampering with settings and closing apps but the website blocking doesn't close the tab or redirect, just puts the browser in Recent Apps mode and the delay of blocking is like a full second so doesn't really stop me from reading something like the aforementioned Z telegram channels.
I do take medication to not feel like I'm about to die and have an appointment with therapist today, hopefully it helps but I know I can't control myself that much in the meanwhile.
So my question is, does anybody know a way to block websites reliably without the ability to just disable it in 1 click like DNS settings or Firewall ?

I ran some performance test jobs and observed one run had stats collection running at the same time while another did not. I decided to disabled auto optimizer stats collection, auto space advisor and sql tuning advisor for future runs.
After that I did observe "The database's maintenance windows were active during 26% of the analysis period." was still in the report.
What other maintenance tasks are running? Is there a best practices guide for configuring a performance testing environment to not hit random processes?
The DB is destroyed after the test run so I am not concerned data loss.

Are there any tricks to getting around the "We are unable to complete your request in Guest Mode" error when trying to login to added channels? I'm currently running into this with Disney+ and Max but not others (ESPN+, Hulu, YouTube or Netflix).
We own a vacation rental and put a Roku Ultra in it with Guest Mode enabled. I'm here visiting (as a guest), put the checkout date, signed into some existing channels (Netflix and Hulu), added and logged into a couple others (YouTube and ESPN+), but getting the "unable to complete request" as soon as I hit the login screen for either Max or Disney+.
I tried Roku support chat last night. They had me unplug and reconnect the Roku and router (twice), then had me factory reset, then idled for 4 minutes -- guessing they'd hope I'd auto disconnect and get out of queue. Eventually they put it on the app developeprovider. Considering the Hulu/ESPN/Disney relationship, seems odd that 2 of the 3 would work.
Speaking of odd, I also added Spotify. When I went to login (in Guest Mode), it said something about my Spotify account already being linked (again, in Guest Mode) and showed the two profiles associated with my Spotify family plan. Is it possible that I had something connected before enabling guest mode? I can't figure out where linked accounts would show and would rather not have guests able to view my wife's full name on her Spotify account.
Anyways, any explanation why I'm getting the "unable to complete your request in Guest Mode" with Max and Disney+? I can obviously disable Guest Mode while I'm here but would really like to have this resolved for guests.

He is a democratic socialist that wants to reform society from the top, in order to do it he will do whatever he needs to. He is not above underhanded methods and deceit to the betterment of Sordland and he will be making deals with many people he finds distateful. (Alphonso, Wiktor, Walter Tusk, Marcel Koronti, Gloria Tory, Albin Clavin and Heron Garaci)
Economically, my Rayne actually studied economy in university and learned the best ways to implement his "four year plan". He plans to be very focused in the fight against corruption and purge the administration of the Old Guard.
His strategy to recover the economy focuses in increasing foreign collaboration (especially from the CSP and Agnolia, as he distrusts most ATO nations), reforming taxes to redistribute wealth and improving production alongside infrastructure to stimulate industry despite nationalisation.
About the energy industry, he sees Gasom as a threat and wants to increase his influence over it.
Socially, although he doesn't think vanguardism is the best aproach to making Sordland better, he is uncompromising in his welfare reforms (he sees the privatisation of state services as a crime against his citizens) and seeks to improve everyone's rights and living conditions as much as possible.
He thinks that Sordland's military is an opportunity to increase it's international reputation and he wants to make it more impressive to scare Rumburg. He wants to end the BFF to make way for a peaceful reconciliation with the bluds.
Personally, my Rayne is extremely loyal to his country and it's people (bluds, agno-sordish and sords alike) spending almost all his energy in working for it. When he isn't working he spends time with his beloved family. He is currently trying to quit tobacco and alcohol to make for a better example for both his citizens and son Frank. He also is very trusting and polite to all of his citizens (including his cabinet, they are his workers after all)

Study Economy to have an easier managing Sordland's recovery (you will study it and disagree with all your professors).

Conclusions:

Anton Rayne ends his first term having made most of his objectives a reality, the military is extremely powerful and scary, that and CSP membership has secured Sordland internationally.
Corruption has been tackled, human, worker's, minority and women's rights have improved and Bluds and Sords have began to reconciliate with a constitution that is truly inclusive.
Sordland's economy is recovered, infrastructure and production are much better and the recently bankrupt Gasom can be nationalized next term (this was achieved without increasing energy prices). All regional economies are booming and taxes are redistributed.
Welfare improved by leaps and bounds without compromising state control over it, literacy rates are improving, rural healthcare quality has increased, disabled people are now safe, working conditions are improved and homelessness rates are reduced.
Organised crime is a problem that we can now deal without Lileas, the BFF has been crippled, they can be erradicated next term and unrest is low across the nation after the discovery of the Bernard Circas conspiracy and Old Guard purge.
Sordland is now a member of the CSP, we will have to deal with that but I personally think it's the best sphere to be in. Agnolia isn't very angry with us yet and Wehlen relations are stable. Rumburg won't dare attack us anytime soon and have no nukes to throw.
Rayne's family is happy, he doesn't smoke or drink anymore and he has only lost three ministers during his term. He is ready to deal with four more years.
