Hi all recently I got back into spoofing and have been using both Shungo and PGtools, both are amazing and I would highly recommend! But one thing I keep hearing about is the BSOD (Blue screen of death) and I have been getting a lot of conflicting Information about it so I thought I would ask here and maybe this could be come a central post to answer others questions as well!
From my understanding you can catch around 4800 pokemon per 24 hours and spin 1200 stops. I also understand that when doing this with grunts the catch limit does not stop you and cause everything to flee like with wild pokemon but takes from ur next 24 hours 4800 limit. But both should not cause BSOD unless you are using PGtools ultimate grunt farmer with tp on for more the 4 hours. But the check limit when shundo hunting is what has me confused. I’m seeing some say to keep it around 4000, some around 2000 and some say it can go up to 10,000 before a BSOD.
So my questions are as follows 1.) What is the cause of the BSOD timeout? 2.) Do grunts (catching shadows) and wild pokemon encounters both count towards the check limit? or is it just one? 3.) What is the limit to checks in one 24 hour period?
Any any other information you may know about this this timeout would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm making quilts for my recently born niece and soon to be born nephew. Last time I did a major quilt was early 2022 when I made one for the niece's older sister over a week home alone at my parents' place.

Older Niece's Quilt
Going for a fairly similar feel for both, just with different themes. Younger niece is getting yellow with bees and flowers, nephew is getting space-themed (with dogs and dinos in space). My main concern is figuring out the cutting for nephew's since his uses less precut fabric. Generally neither is "due" til at least the first week of December (not enough of the family can get together the actual week of Thanksgiving so we do it a week later). Main things I wanted help/suggestions about:
1) I prewashed ALL the fabric for the above quilt and, uh, yeah, never again. I'm using 100% cotton everything, about how much overall shrinkage are we looking at for a roughly 5x5 quilt? A couple inches?
2) I tend to be be minimal with the top-stitching (above quilt is top-stitched along the seams of the colorful squares, it's not visible). Will that work for a decent quilt or will that shorten its life?
3) Binding tips in general. I'm bad at binding, the above quilt has a few issues there I had to fix by hand. I usually watch multiple tutorials before doing it but any advice would be appreciated! I'm using pre-bought binding, navy for the space and yellow for the bees.
4) I plan to prewash the quilts before mailing them. Anything I need to look out for in the detergent that might be bad for babies? (I can always borrow Tide Free pods if needed from my mom if my detergent won't work--unless those also have issues I don't know about).
5) How often should I iron the seams of the quilted portions? Just once before attaching it to the backing, or more along the way?
6) Any tips for arranging chunks or work time? Like, layout and cutting-plans are going to take at least a week per quilt (I do a lot of pre-work math with graph paper) but any suggestions for what are good stopping points? Like, do a certain column or so at a time? It's been a while.

So, my girlfriend has managed to drop my Steel Series Rival 3 on the floor in the only way possible, that would damage it - it dropped on the wheel first and it's axle bent, so it clicks whenever you scroll up. Sadly - it's a budget gaming wireless mouse, that's amazing performance-wise, is self-cleaning i.e. gunk doesn't stick to it as much and it was quite durable, but the manufacturer doesn't use bolts, so I can't open the mouse without breaking it.
Naturally, I'm deciding between buying a second Rival 3 again, or if I can - find the same quality mouse, that I can take-apart, repair and reassemble.
Anything like that on the market?
I'm looking for the following; - has to be wireless - repairable - high DPI - DPI switch - (optional) self-cleaning - (optional) under 80€

Hey guys. I wanted to get something off my chest.
I have a Galaxy Z Fold 4. Didn't upgrade to the Z Fold 5 because it was just a small iteration on the fold 4. But it's probably the last Samsung phone I'll ever use.
My current problem is that the phone's wifi antenna is not working, plus the Bluetooth isn't working very realiably either. It happened randomly. I suddenly saw that I wasn't connected to WiFi, I toggled wifi on and off and it never turned back on. It was stuck on "turning on" and it never turned back on. I'm pretty tech savvy so I did the usual troubleshooting like restarting the phone, turning it off and waiting 5 minutes, booting into safe mode. Nothing worked. I went a bit further and I reset connection settings, wiped cache partition from the bootloader, wiped all user data and even a full factory reset... Guess what? Nothing worked. I saw there was a pending update so I installed it, and same shit, nothing worked. At this point it was pretty obvious it was a hardware issue. Went to an authorized service center and they told me I had to wait at least a week just for a fucking diagnostic. Waited, for them to tell me a repair will cost me $500... AYFKM? I want to make it clear that I haven't dropped my phone once, not even dinged it a bit. I take good care of my devices. I'm not perfect, it might have happened while I wasn't looking but I'm 💯 sure that this wasn't something I did.
This is honestly the last time I'll be dealing with Samsung. I have owned only Samsung phones since the S3. Yes, I've been a fanboy, but I also like them quite a bit.
My last 3 phones have been a nightmare. I bought a Note 20 Ultra, and one morning the screen stopped working altogether. I took it to the place I bought it from since it was under warranty but they couldn't fix it. They just gave me a new phone, and S21+ (since it was the new one at the time). After a week having it, the exact same thing happened. Keep in mind I didn't charge it with a 3rd party charger or a faulty cable, I was using the OG charger that came with my note 20. They swapped it for a new S21 and this one had no problems. I gave it to my sister when I upgraded to the fold 4, and after 7 months, it stopped unfolding all the way. It was still under warranty so they swapped it for the one I have today...
I keep buying Samsung because I'm an Android user, and I have all their peripherals. But I'm so done with them. I am Perma banned from their members community because I've been exposing them, and anytime I comment on their posts they delete them.
If you have a Samsung device and love it, more power to you. But I've been looking around this subreddit enough to know these are both ubique incidents.

Do you hate how flimsy EDC belts are? Have you ever bought a belt marketed as "super rigid!" only to find it super floppy? Do you hate the $3 inner belt that shipped with your $200 battle belt? Are those cheap plastic loop buckles a pain while in the restroom? Well, boy do I have the thing for you!
This belt is made with a 6 layer Tegris reinforcement that goes the entire width of the belt, and anchored to heavy duty belt webbing. This means that your guns don't sag when carrying or during draws. An outside layer of loop Velcro means that you can throw your battle belt on in no time at all. The stonewashed G-Hook is made from 304 stainless and makes taking a whizz and adjustment super easy.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR SIZING!
DO NOT USE YOUR PANTS SIZE! Pants sizes have too many variables, so use the actual measurement of your waist in inches. When measuring, include your holsters for your pistol and mags. If you're in between sizes but on the higher end, move up a size. For example, someone who is a 35" or 36" would get the 34"-38" belt.
If you don't have a measuring tape, wear your normal belt outside the loops and make a note of where the belt meets. Then measure it with your ruler to know your approximate size.

If 1 in 36 children are diagnose with ASD. Why is there a year plus wait time for everything? I see so much about how schools aren’t equipped to support their children. I’m sooo blessed to get a diagnosis for my child right before his 2 year birthday. I’m a single stay at home parent. We’re living with my grandma as I left his abusive father. My grandma turns 80 this year. If something happens to her, I’m homeless or back with my abusive ex. I don’t have a car. I can’t work until my child gets childcare, which like I said is a year or longer. But all autism centered things are 20-30 minute drive away. Bus ride would be hour and a half one way. Another thing I’m incredibly thankful for is his disability check so we can survive on that. But… am I allowed to buy a car with that money? I can’t have more than $2000 saved. My credit is absolutely ruined because of my ex. The only plan I really have for getting out of my grandma’s is going through this college program for single parents that offers housing. But again I have to have childcare.. Another blessing is he receives an hour of speech and OT every week or two until he’s 3. I focus a lot of gratitude, or at least try my best to, because it really could be worse. But the resentment about my situation is building and building. Maybe I’m just naive and this is a common and expected thing for people with special needs but I feel like I don’t hear much on this sub about the lack of resources. Like I said, I see a lot about schools not dealing with issues well but it sadly seems just so normal. Maybe in a sense I answered my question. It’s so common that there’s not enough providers yet to handle the load. But will it get better and easier??
This whole post was just a string of thoughts. I’m so overstimulated and burnt out. I don’t have the energy to edit or articulate. I will I knew how to cope with it all better but I don’t. The feelings of hopelessness are creeping in… am I fit to be a parent? Will things always be this hard? Am I going to make it? I’m not suicidal but I’m starting to feel like there’s no way out. I’m starting to have this desperate thoughts of “how can I get out of this hell asap?” I just want something to take the edge off of it all because I feel like I’m gonna lose it.
Idk what else to say.

First off, huge thanks to everyone who has posted about their experiences with durability claims - you all truly gave me so much incredible information that I walked in to the VSO with a complete claim that had our officer impressed. My husband is currently rated 50% for PTSD (rated since 2018). He was recently diagnosed with OSA, and he's had sleep disturbance issues since I met him a month of out of the Marines in '05. I did a ton of research, got our primary care doc to write a fantastic Nexus letter, and wrote my own corroborating lay statement.
We had his C&P exam yesterday for OSA, right knee pain, rhinitis, and sinusitis. We've already gotten a letter saying they were denying his knee claim because he already claimed it in 2018 and they denied it, but I'm hoping they'll re-evaluate based on yesterday's exam.
I read all the tips and tricks on c&p exams from you guys and proud my husband on what to expect and what to watch out for, and when I tell you we got the best and most thorough examine we could have asked for, it's no joke. We had to drive 2.5 hours each way, but she was friendly, thorough, took the time to compare what the VA is looking for as to ratings schedule and ask specific questions to accurately match his symptoms to ratings. She did a thorough physical examination, and asked for me to print out our nexus letter in her office so she could match her notes and opinions to that of our doctor. She far exceeded every expectation and I'm so glad to know that there are people like her in the system that genuinely have the best interest of our veterans at heart. They had a qr code in the lobby asking for reviews and I left a glowing one before we were even out of the parking lot.
Best I can figure if all of this goes favorably he will end up at 90%, which would be a huge relief to know that he would qualify for more/better care as he gets older. We don't have enough to get him to 100% on this claim, but considering he never wanted to file in 2018 to begin with, I'm happy he's taking steps and realizing that it's OK to be compensated for the changes he'll face for the rest of his life due to a decision he made when was 19. I wish every veteran had an advocate that could be their voice of reason when they can't or won't advocate for themselves and to have the support they so desperately need when navigating such a complex and frustrating system while in the throes of their own personal struggles.

Hello everyone! I'm a soon-to-be high school graduate (graduation is on the 25th!) looking for a summer job I can do for approximately 3 weeks before I leave (June 16th) to participate in research at an out-of-state school. Do you guys know of any place that would hire me for that short period of a time? It can really be anything, I just want something to do and get some pocket change before I go on to do bigger things. The only "job" experience I have was a two week unpaid internship during May 2023 as a Computer Science Intern at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Most of my background has been in taking intensive college courses while still in high school, like Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, etc, hence why I haven't had much actual job experience.
I've finished high school with a 4.14 GPA (on a Weighted 4.33 GPA scale, where an A/A+ = 4.33), have participated in loads of extracurriculars, and have won many academic awards during my time in school (with a full ride scholarship to a private out-of-state school). I say all this because I assume that for a recent high school grad, employers would want to see what I've done during high school. I also do have a driver's license with a car at my disposal, so transportation wouldn't be a problem. I live in the West Lafayette area, so jobs in West Lafayette would be preferable, however I am open to Lafayette options too. If anyone has any ideas, let me know!

Homeworld Cataclysm The Naggarok use an experimental hyperspace drive that got pick up by the beast and its only time an hypersapce entity like that been recorded in the lore
Homeworld 2 Progenitor tech with cores and ships work different when standard drives in hyperspace, 1: Progenitor core are the only ones that can do far-jumps in hyperspace while standard drives have to do short-jump and wait to recharge 2: Progenitor core in Deserts of Kharak can pull ships into the planet materialized/crush into the sands, 3: Progenitor core give ageless immortality to those who are link up to it, 4: three cores plus Sajuuk can hyperspace from the center of the galaxy to Hiigara in 1 jump bypassing gravimetric anomaly and gravity generator, 5: Other ships around the Progenitor core can far-jump along with it
Homeworld 2 a big gameplay mechanic in hyperspace was change frigate and capital size cant jump on they own they need Hyperspace Module then you can jump as long you are close to that ship compare in homeworld 1 any frigate and capital size can hyperspace but this was for gameplay reason nothing to do with the lore in HW2
Hyperspace drives are to big for strikecraft and always need to dock in Frigate or Capital class in order to travel on hyperspace
---The rules of hyperspacing from past games are broken in homeworld 3---
The Hyperspace Core in the original Homeworld was a copy of what was found in the Khar Toba and it's size was increased 12 fold to accommodate the mothership's mass. So if the core is proportionate to the mass of what needs to be moved this would make hyperspace jumping a moon impossible without a core of sufficient size
When the Kalan Carrier materialized into the asteroids Imogen is surprise they can do that even though Rachel in Deserts of Kharak record and log the effects of the Core pulling ship the same way then later at the start of mission 12 Imogen mothership can do the materialized without any explanation in how she can do it
To explain how Hyperspace tunnels work cause homeworld 3 didnt, the writers taken the gameplay change in HW2 for hyperspace and made it into the lore, the Gateship is a acting hyperspace module sending others ship that cant jump anywhere in space, the problem with this is she seems to know stellar object positioning across the galaxy at all times and can open hyperspace tunnels to use them as weapons. Karan needed the mothership sensors and fleet intelligence in order to do jumps.
It was never stated that you can hyperspace objects without any type of hyperspace systems that is attached to the object, its been always needed a drive/core or gate to move in hypersapce for example strikecraft is always needed to dock before jumping or they get left behind, There no explanation how the queen moving things through hyperspace its just made up
If the queen get the 3 other cores to get infinite power that can move the stars how can 3 cores of the queen plus karan other 3 cores have the power to move stars by going the core proportionate to the mass with the Gateship is far to small for this
In mission 11 Engineerings said they needed transfer significant personnel to get Khar Sajuuk combat-ready but imogen can use the hypersapce bandwidth to move it dont know what that even means like control the system with hyperspace this was never use in past games cause Karan could of use that to being the pride of hiigara with them not leaving it behind at Balcora Gate
The Incarnate Queen seems to be able to see the entire galaxy in real time, how she does this is not explained, it extends beyond the areas that are under her control. She seems to know stellar object positioning across the galaxy at all times and can open hyperspace a great number of tunnels with pinpoint accuracy to use these objects as weapons, some videos appear to indicate she is using solar flares.
===Incarnate queen plans make no sense===
Using hyperspace as a weapon sound like a good idea but the big problem with that is Hyperspace Inhibitor is a thing that most factions can use even pirates, back in homeworld 1 the Taiidan made massive ones near Hiigara to stop anyone from hyperspacing on top of the planet
After she defeats karan and the fifth fleet just full on stop to continue controlling the gate network and just waited around for 20 years then attacks the galaxy with hypersapce dont know why she waited that long
First she want the 3 cores to unlock the gate network even though she already have complete control of it force you to go where she wants and she can use hyperspace tunnels
Second she want to more Navigators to rule beside her cause she feels lonely even though Bentusi were around as long as her
Third the 3 cores dont unlock the gate network it was Sajuuk the Key ship to have access to the network her plans completely apart without it and she never mention Sajuuk in anyway to her plans
In mission 7 you abuse the incarnate by the gate with many turrets and mines if the queen can use hyperspace tunnels to send them why use the gates the incarnate lost many ships
The Sybthetic Cores are a complete copy of the Progenitor Cores so why didnt the Queen was able to do the same thing getting infinite power for the hyperspace gate network
The Queen wants imogen to find Karan so she can find the Cores but in missions she trying to killed imogen mothership in every opportunity possible
===Hiigaran command plans make no sense===
After karan mothership and the fifth fleet went missing against The Anomaly so what is the next step command takes is waiting 20 years for The Anomaly to return sending a half working mothership with no fleet support to stop it where karan and the fifth failed
Command use the Sunrise on Kharak Protocols to cut all communication between you and Hiigara until the mission is complete which is dumb cause karan and the fifth failed why do they think this plan is going to work this time cause after beating the incarnate you are trap in outer-ring with no way back
Karan ask of you to dismantle the cores so the queen cant get them but we been shown that the cores are indestructible with surviving in crashing into the angel moon and bentusi self-destruct that disable a Keeper ship for awhile
Karan with doubt is leaving a message that only imogen can find with the lullaby taking over 20 years with luck which is out of character for a S'jet compare to Rachel brother who was capture by the Gaalsien making a sure plan that she would get the message to activate the ion satellite
Karan hide not inside the ice put park on top of a ice cliff for 20 years how didnt the incarnate found it with that much time
===Technology is ignore==
Hiigaran had Progenitor technology for years due to Sajuuk that you dont see being use it until the last mission with karan mothership has it but imogen mothership got none of it even though the ship is the sister class to it
No one used or talk about Hyperspace Inhibitor to stop the Incarnate using hyperspace as a weapon cause that would fix alot of problems
Cloaking/Sensors Distortion tech is gone forcing you to use tunnels to sneak around the enemy and there a stealth mission you have to use ice clouds to hide from the enemy even though cloaking/sensors distortion could of been used in past games
Hyperspacing is a big part of the lore and gameplay of homeworld but in 3 you dont even to use it in campaign or multiplayer
Incarnate ships are using progenitor tech but none of that was used in homeworld 2 that could of them fearful and powerful but still get beaten by a far weaker race
Defense Field Frigate or Defense Pod were important to protect your fleet from damage Hiigaran copy the technology from the Taiidan how useful it was during the Homeworld War
EMP use by ACV in Cataclysm and scouts in homeworld 2 can stop even capital class ships to bad that gone for HW3 scouts and only on the incarnate disruption corvette
===Past events is ignore===
Sajuuk is not just only the most powerful ship in the lore but its the key to unlock Eye of Aarran gate network to traveler other far away places, its just gone and ignore due to could of fix most of the problems you run into the story
Bentusi is one of the oldest ageless races next to the Progenitors who give technology to other races to uplift them to be part galactic trade routes then create the Galactic Council to help keep the peace
The Galactic Council is made up of 16 independent nations 2 of them is known Hiigarans and Taiidan the other 13 are unknown while the Tobari had some concept art or lore from dust wars
After the Vaygr war the council/nations were beaten leaving the taiidan republic and hiigaran still standing leaving up to Karan with Sajuuk being the Age of S'jet to rebuild and peace for many years
Homeworld 3 Hiigarans are the only ones fighting this Galaxy Size Crisis no other nations are mention to help out just left out
Incarnate queen dont even talk about Bentusi even though they are also space navigatotimeless race traveling around galaxies so why she didnt try to reach out to them long ago
===The new narrative of The Navigators===
The title Navigator was neven used in past homeworld games just Fleet Command of those who became part of the mothership systems
In homeworld 1 Karan was first to be part of the Mothership system to help with the mass data only a human brain can handle becoming Fleet Command while Fleet Intelligence make the analyze or tactical plans of that data.
In homeworld 2 Karan being connet to the Mothership hyperspace core give her immortality she cant age like the Bentusi hitting how the Bentusi got they immortality with Progenitor Core for discovering it first before anyone else
In homeworld 1 and 2 there was some type of close range communication telemetry with karan when facing the taiidan Emperor or Vaygr Makaan
In homeworld 3 being part of the hyperspace core give you more powers beside ageless immortality like telemetry with other Navigators during Hyperspace, seeing and feeling the galaxy through hyperspace, if more cores are use could move the galaxy at will with thought
===So many repeated lines that dont work===
sands and sinners, may the burden remain, Akadath Ferin, survivor and chains, and to be Hiigaran is to never be alone are phrases that never used in any homeworld game before just modern bad writing

My family and I purchased basic airfare (non-reimbursable) on Air Canada back in March for a trip in July.
Yeah, I know - lesson learned. The exorbitant cost increase to give you access to basic things like switching your flights, choosing your seat, etc, was about $800 more and hard to swallow when I was already spending over $2k.
We followed with an Airbnb rental, which was confirmed. (Yay). We found a lovely spot on the water three hours outside of Vancouver.
Forty-one days later, our Airbnb is canceled, and we learn that a May 1st short-term rental policy change has removed 19000 rentals from British Columbia, including ours. (We did get reimbursed for the rental, thank god).
We aren’t staying in a city where hotels are available. And it was our vacation plan to stay in a small house by the water to escape all the chaos. The option to action this type of vacation was removed for us, and it was no longer viable to call British Columbia our destination. We were heartbroken.
I’ve now spent 3+ hours (3 calls) on the phone with Air Canada - I've explained the extraordinary situation several times now, pleading with them to help us recover some amount (over $2k for four round trip tickets). I brought up the potential to switch flights to a different city/area, and the best they could do was charge me additional fees that would have cost me $1000 more. Kick a person while they're down, why don't you?
Supervisors are unwilling to help - not even for a credit. The last representative I spoke with was extremely understanding and kind and did submit an escalation request to their customer service department, but at this point, I’m less than hopeful. (FYI - the previous rep was extremely rude, stating if I wanted help, I should try calling back to talk to someone else - quite a lovely individual. Ha).
Do you have any thoughts or ideas on what I can do here?
Our vacation plans have been thrown out the window, and the loss of money has made it nearly impossible to enact or go through with a similar experience. We wanted to go, but unforeseeable circumstances and the unwillingness of Air Canada to help have put a colossal blocker up for us.
We’ve been saving up for over a year to take this vacation.
I’m at a loss. Suggestions are welcome. Lessons learned.
Air Canada is off my list for future travel considerations.

2024.05.17 01:42 Commercial_Wear_3777 Day 2! Thank you guys for ALL of the replies. It was a little overwhelming.

I didn't respond to everyone yesterday because it was honestly so much more then I excepted - I was basically writing an angst journal entry and didn't expect anyone to reply.
Last night ended up being ... easy? I was out to dinner with a friend who doesn't drink, and she's a talker. So before I knew it, it was 10 pm and I had to walk home. By 11 I could take some zzzquil and knock myself out.
Someone told me to smoke weed- appreciate the thought but I honestly can't! It makes me a crazy person . But good on you if it works.
Today is actually more of a challenge. I've realized my big hours are between 6-11 pm. It's 730 here so I have a long ways to go. My husband is napping on the couch while dinner is in the oven. Once it's out, I'm unsure what to do with myself. Today I was off and did all the mental health things - bike, gym, therapy, journal . I had a weird argument with my therapist of all people about feeling like an addict.
"How much do you drink?" "Well it might only be 2 beers, but it also might be six, and it's every night" "Okay, well medically we define addiction as ..." And "lots of people have one glass of wine every night ". Wtf ? Okay . I'm telling you I have a problem and I want to stop drinking, at least for awhile. This is a man who knows I can't remember the last time I took 2 days off of drinking. I already feel weird like I'm not "alcoholic enough" or something. My friends, my husband . They think it's easy enough to just "cut back". That's not a thing for me. I'm in, or I'm out. Maybe one day it won't be that way-it wasn't always. But I doubt it. All I know is that for now, I need to be out . And I need at least my fucking therapists support in that .
So what's my game plan tonight ? Lots of people said "do anything but drink". It's a little tough at home because my husband requires a certain amount of care, and when he's home I can't always leave the house .I feel a bit restless at home, and when I'm restless, drinking quells that. I guess we'll see. I'm open to suggestions.
Anyway. It's almost 8 pm here . That's four hours until I can reasonably take my little sleepy time stuff and knock out (damn, I really slept last night.)

Throwaway because idk if they'll see this or not. I just really need to get this off my chest somewhere. Sorry for format I'm on my phone.
My online friend of almost a decade is 21. She is one of those people who believes in the good in everyone and gnores red flags in relationships. So she doesn't have the best relationship experiences. Horrible history with them. I have helped her realize those red flags before it was too late before, but this time it's different.
When her ex boyfriend/best friend died and her current boyfriend dumped her, she was having trouble grieving and was making bad choices. Avoiding the situation.
One night she got high, went on bumble and matched with man who was 45 (she was 20) matched with her. In her words basically he thought she was older, and she thought he was younger. She wasn't looking for a relationship or a hook up and he said the same. Alarm bells ringing in my head as I know exactly what is happening because, I and many sadly went through the same. Despite being "only friends" they ended up "falling for each other" and he took her virginity. Which was a HUGE deal.
I recognized all of the signs. The trauma I have from my own experiences caused a fight between me and the dude as well as a a falling out between my friend and I. Thinking I was just projecting I did some serious work on myself; learned how to take responsibility and how to control my triggers.
A couple months went by, I reached out to tell her I was sorry and explain why I acted that way, which she knew already. She knows everything about me and my entire life and I know hers. I also gave her the reality of him and her. Letting her know how common it is for older men to prey upon younger women who are vulnerable and manipulate and take advantage of them and groom them. She accepted my apology. We made up and she let me know me they were broken up and she was talking to someone. Ngl I was relieved.
When catching about about the months we weren't talking she mentioned something about him almost taking her life. Not anything specific, just that she was almost murdered. She let me know that she said she didn't want to talk about it or say anything more about it, which I respected and didn't pry. She was alive safe that's all really mattered. She did reference that situation once after that but never anything other than she almost was killed. Everything seemed fine. I was wrong.
A month later she calls me crying and it slips out she has a boyfriend. When asked why she didn't tell me she had a boyfriend she said "because I didn't want you to be mad at me for being in a relationship" which made no sense because her and I both know that's not the case ever. I was never mad in the first place, just worried. That was acknowledged when we started talking again. I let it pass after because there was more important things going on. I did ask after why she thought I would be mad but was left on read.
A couple weeks later everything is fine. She calls me and we talk about a celebrity that did something to get them in major trouble. Talking about how immature that celebrity was acting, she mentions how her boyfriend agrees and is way older than said celebrity. I hoped it wasn't the same guy but she slipped out his name and it made sense why she thought I get mad at her when she is in a relationship. My heart broke because I knew he got to her again.
Not long ago she randomly mentions her fiancé and then says boyfriend. I'm shocked and asked her what she meant by fiancé? She then let's me know how she's getting married and that she's engaged. Tells me how they decided not to get legally married though. I can be fine with that but it was the fact that I wasn't the first person she told after she got engaged. I try not to say anything and accept it and convince myself it's probably not that bad it's only my trauma making me think that.
Skip to today, after talking on the phone I text her saying I'm ok with his age and why. Her response was not how she would respond, it wasn't how she texts if you know what I mean. She knows everything about me including the trauma related to why I'm ok with his age. So her rude dismissive response was not like her at all and I know he was responding for. It's most likely he told her to hang up when she did.
I know I can't say anything to her. I can tell it's too late. If she's not even talking about her own wedding with me and when we talk it's only phone calls and texts. When we usually video chat. Her fiancé came into the room while we were on the phone because she said "hi babe how was work" and that voice recognized replied. We continue our conversation and I'm apparently on speaker. He randomly joins the conversation and I knew it was too late.
If it makes this any more understandable at all I am a male, I'm bi which he knows and I'm in my early 20's.

Hello, this is my first post here, so I hope I'm following the guidelines correctly.
I am currently in the process of preparing my documents to apply to some universities in the US for a PhD program in Computer Science starting in Fall 2025. I have about 15 universities in my list.
I recently obtained my Master's in Computer Science from EPITA in France with some pretty good grades. However, I have access to 3 different variations of my transcripts:

One in French, on a grade out of 20, listing all my courses
One in English, on a grade out of 20, listing all my courses
One in English, on a GPA out of 4, listing only the general modules that I saw

I am a bit worried about this, since there is not a lot of details in the English GPA transcript, and the names for the thematics are rather vague. Because of this, I am afraid that the admission committee may not approve of my application because of the vagueness of the courses on my transcripts.
Here is a sample snapshot (https://imgur.com/a/534xaRf) of the transcripts of each point for reference to this post. I've blurred out all course codes, grades and averages for privacy reasons. You can see that in my English GPA transcript, all the courses for "Mathematics & Fundamental Computer Science" are gone, and the only the average GPA for that module is displayed. If posting transcripts is against the rules (even censored ones) I apologize, please let me know and I will take down my post.

This is more of an open discussion, but I'm wondering what your thoughts are on choosing a .NET environment for applications that require significantly long-term support and stability. Generally, newest = best when choosing an SDK since it has all the most recent support, security features and fixes. I recently looked at the expected support life-cycle of the .NET releases, and they average between 1-3 years - which is worrisome in my industry since it pretty much means cycles of constant upgrading, which is NOT easy, and based on what Microsoft has published it actively encourages uninstalling older .NET builds after support stops.
FOR CONTEXT:
I work in the medical device industry. Any application I've worked on up to this point has had lifecycles on average up to 10+ years. Depending on what the software is supposed to do, we also have to make sure security is top-notch (HIPAA compliance) and that any features or changes we make won't kill somebody (ie. GUI's for medical robotics, treatment controllers, etc.). Validation & Verification can take months, testing needs to be rigorous to prove the software won't kill or injure anybody and any changes need to be approved by the governing bodies it's distributed in before they can be included in the software. As such, upgrades to legacy frameworks is HARD, as anything that breaks or changes could injure or kill somebody if it isn't caught.
What would you choose in a scenario like this? Constantly upgrading the framework - which seems standard? - has a much higher overhead than most need to consider, which to me seems to deter using .NET, but I might be missing something.

2024.05.17 01:37 Choedan_Kal Incursions update and more: my thoughts and feedback (long)

Wow, what an impressive update.
The last time I played ES2 was after it went to full release. My last update here was about how I finally pushed through and completed lunacy 1000 with my striker. At the time, I was one of the very few players who had accomplished it as evident by achievements. It was extremely difficult and took many tries. Once I hit that personal milestone, I found the endgame content had dried up. In my post I submitted feedback that endgame should be continued and expanded.
Incursions is everything I asked for when I signed off a year ago. This update breathes new life into Everspace, further fleshing out end game content for players and providing tons of new ways to play. I am so glad they knocked this out before releasing new paid DLC that extends the story.
Between the armed and dangerous and incursions updates, I had a lot of new content to digest. I was pleased the developers automatically upgraded all my prior legendary items to radiant, as it saved a ton of time. While farming all the new gear, I also realized that I was missing nearly half of the mainframe expansions. I figured there was no way I was going to be able to reach my new goal, lunacy 2000 without reliquary, unless I was 100% upgraded, so I did fucking EVERYTHING to upgrade my ship. It was nice revisiting a lot of the old locations and using the discovery map feature to track everything down.
Finally, after a few weeks of grinding, I had my ideal ship. I’ve never been a “meta” player and I knew doing things my way instead of the optimal meta way would be impossible for me without it.
So my striker has 100% starforged, catalyst upgrades, 3 active items sets, 4 radiant legendary, perfect passives and full mainframe expansions. I am an energy beam lover in any game. If you can shoot a beam laser in a game, that’s what I play. It’s one of the reasons I love Everspace so much. Unfortunately, beam weapons aren’t the most powerful, and since I don’t use aim assist on principal, enemies can sometimes be challenging to keep a bead on. Especially those damn raiders.
Well, after many tries and some luck, I was finally able to beat lunacy 2000 today with no reliquary. I am so happy with this accomplishment. I tried so many different strategies, delicately turning the knob between more damage and more survivability, until things finally worked. The boss fight was intense as hell. All consumables used, emergency shield glowing, no rockets left in the barrel and cooldowns all blown. I can proudly say I did the entire run without any cheesy tactics, and instead was constantly brawling toe to toe, utilizing all the strengths I had acquired for my ship. It was one of those few times in my gaming life that I took a screenshot at the end to celebrate.
Now that I’ve hit my goal I plan on experimenting with some fun builds and ships. I’m curious to see if I can push the envelope with some other play styles. I also wanted to share some thoughts and feedback, in no particular order, on the updated content.

IMO incursion difficulty is right on the money. Extreme incursions on nightmare difficulty should be the hardest thing you can do outside of rifts, and they are. Enemies can hit for over 100k damage, effectively one shotting most ships. If you don’t invest in damage reduction, or min/max your stats, these events will be extremely frustrating.
This game has excellent save scum prevention. Re-rolling stats, for example, cant’ be save scummed to get different rolls each time. However, if you find yourself hunting for a specific legendary item, it’s convenient to have 2000 tears of the mad, which can be used to save scum peak into the reliquary and then reload your saved game.
Some clarification on stat calculation would be nice. For example, it would be nice to know if bonuses are additive or multiplicative. A classic “character sheet” would go a long way in clearing up buffs etc.
If a “character sheet’’ isn’t feasible, how about a training dummy? Training drone, maybe? Let me just beat up on Hive a little. For science.
Equipment loadouts would be nice in a future update for QOL.
Escort Duty 2 piece gives 25% bonus to resistance stat, but the bonus only apples to the base? This should be updated to reflect increases from other equipment bonuses as well.
It’s really hard to justify not using the Union Eclipse set. I think either this set needs to be applied to more weapon types or taken out entirely. 30% damage just for switching weapons is just too good to pass up. Or, create more unique weapon sets that compete.
Catalyst: Barrage going into full effect at 10 seconds is not worth it. Maybe if there was a wind-down on the buff so it wasn’t lost immediately after you let off the trigger. Rapid and Powerful are almost always better.
Equilibrium special effect doesn’t justify a legendary, especially with thundercore and nexus heart as competitors, not to mention the 4 legendary item limit.
Ragnarok could be amazing but if you do area damage it becomes almost worthless, and who isn’t doing area damage? Using a flak cannon, after a few shots I’ve exhausted my destabilize buff on everyone with no hope for the legendary item to re-apply it when I finally get a chance to focus them down. Let Ragnarok reapply destabilize but have an internal cooldown, otherwise this item seems worthless at higher difficulty.
All large ships, with the exception of the Okkar corvette, drop way too fast, while the Okkar corvette can be actually near-impossible to kill. There needs to be more balance in large ships and bosses.
Speaking of Okkar, are you kidding me with Prime Protectors? A single prime protector can ruin your day. With a reflect build, I watched a prime protector destroy me, and an entire enemy squadron in less than a second on lunacy 2000. I understand some ships should be challenging but this bastard has been terrorizing the game for far too long. Yes, I know they already got nerfed. They need more nerfs.
Rift difficulty with reliquary doesn’t appear consistent. I know this is anecdotal, but I’ve had times where a reliquary, which should make me overpowered and the rift extremely easy, actually made it way harder than if I didn’t have a reliquary. For example, enemy damage and HP seemed 2-3x what it should have been. I take off the reliquary and do the same rift level and can win without a problem. Other times, things work as advertised and I’m able to mow down rift progress like the game is on easy mode. I have no clue what is causing this discrepancy.
Lastly, there is a YT of a Chinese player effortlessly clearing lunacy 2000 with an interceptor. I’m not sure how legitimate this is. If it is legitimate, then nerfs are in order, maybe no longer allowing a player to 3-stack zero-k boomers. If it isn’t legitimate, well then cheaters never prosper.

This stupid little idea was mainly born out of me going “hmmm, vampires, werewolves, and magic he undead are all kinda “classic monsters”….wonder if I can make something with all of them in it”.
So please keep in mind that this idea was made for fun and is very much in its infancy with this little bit being almost everything I got for it. I found it appealing enough though to actually do something with it so ask any questions or propose any idea you may have so I can flesh it out better!
It’s mostly gonna be a modern fantasy story by the end.
The events of the story Frankenstein unfold as you know them. However the key difference is the method used to construct the monster and Victor's intended goal when making him. By using the stolen ribs of the first man, Adam, along with the heart of Christ in the construction, the doctor hoped to bring about the miracle of life. Which he succeeded in.
The desired outcome of this was to create a divine being, untouched by the filth of man and so pure in both mind and soul that it could act as a sacrifice to bring about the cleansing of humanity. However, the experiment was deemed a failure, as the newly created being was wholly unable to tap into the divine power within it. Alongside the fact that its mind was similar to that of a newly born child in a man’s body. From there the story plays out as usual, with the “monster” learning and chasing after Victor. Everything remains largely the same up until his supposed death at the hands of his creation. At some point a group of individuals from a secret investigation group within the Vatican church had been able to track Victor down while searching for the stolen relics.
At first, they had pondered simply executing him on the spot, but before they could decide, they had a run in with the Monster. During the ensuing battle they had managed to retrieve the Monster’s heart and force it to retreat, only just barely living through the fight. That was when they made a different decision. Victor Frankenstein's execution would be indefinitely suspended and in exchange he would turn over all of his research into resurrection to help fight against a long lived enemy of the church. Dracula.
After a period of time Victor’s research would be improved upon, giving birth to a group of resurrected people who fell in battle with supernatural enemies called the “Gravestones”. They proved to be more than capable of holding their own against vampiric forces, boasting similar strength and speed to that of the average vampire.
Before the final assault on Dracula’s castle, the church was able to enlist the help of a man who simply went by “Hellsing”.
They were so close to victory during the battle with Dracula. However the fight was taxing on both sides, forcing Hellsing to unleash and take on an ancient curse sealed within a box that transformed him into a rampaging beast. Both Dracula and Hellsing died in that battle, forcing Dracula into making a desperate gamble to extend his life by scattering his vampiric essence in the form of a blood mist. Anyone unfortunate enough to breathe this mist in would become a vampire themselves, with the hopes that he’d one day reincarnate into one of his victims bodies.
Fast forward to modern times (2019) and there’s been a sudden surge of vampires appearing and related attacks. In an event called the Great Revival, vampires of old have all been waking up from their dormant states. In response the Hellsing family established an organization dedicated to combating these threats, working with a strained relationship alongside the church.
Couldn’t really figure out where werewolves really would fit in all this.

I currently am in the military working in our engraving office. I’ve been picked up a few months ago, and while I’m a wizard with our laser engraver (Epilogue), we have two engravers that are giving us issues.
Our oldest model, a Gravotech IS700 is currently our primary. It constantly gives us issues with the spindle motor (so it is only used when needed) and will mis-print on occasion if you aren’t watching it like a hawk.
Our IS6000 is currently out of commission due to some sort of programming/mechanical issues (I wasn’t there when it broke and I don’t know entirely what’s wrong with it).
We are running Gravotech’s Gravostyle V9 software, and also causes problems, I’m guessing due to the age of the software and the age of the 700. We recently figured out that it now refuses to print images (even though it did so in the past), even if you convert them into a 8-bit image. If you don’t convert it, the controller for it will show that it’s received the info, but no matter what image, big or small, it will say “204 bytes” and then delete the job. If you convert the image to a bitmap, it will take over an hour to load, and then the program will freeze and it will not print. I did some “test” prints in the machining dialog and noticed that at the end of the texts script it will say “Too Large” at the very end. Non-bitmapped images will show 204 characters, but again, will refuse to print.
All of us in this office are frustrated at this engraver and it’s stupid “proprietary” software that is required to use to run. But the military is currently not in the mood to let us spend the money to get a Gravotech Technician out to come and fix our stuff. Is anyone familiar with this program/machine? Is there a reason why it’s behaving like this? We also don’t have internet in that office due to security concerns with running software so we can’t get immediate troubleshooting support or info. If anyone has any suggestions for engravers with software that isn’t a POS would be greatly appreciated. I might be able to convince my command to just spend the money to stop me from bitching.

So I posted this earlier but it didn’t meet guidelines so reposting
So the other day I (34 m) matched with someone (33f) and I’m really not sure what to think of it, how to take it or how to proceed) the reason I’m unsure is I actually know this girl. We actually use to to school together and had class with one another from kindergarten till the 6th grade.
While we were cordial with one another we were never hang out friends. We both had dif friend groups and that continued when I left for the public school system and she didn’t. We did run into each other a few times threw your group and we always talked but outside of that….and we have had virtually no contact since the 8th grade
Well first off I have her number do I basically have the green light to just text her instead of talking threw the app. There’s already a familiarity between us and I feel like the apps purpose is to create that
The secound part is I’m not sure if I’m taking matching with her correctly. So we actually matched with each other about 2,3 years ago. We exchanged numbers for a bit but it died off never met. I’m a pretty direct person so I asked her did she match with me because I was familiar or because of interest and she said the first one
Looking back probably a bad thing to ask but honestly I had never matched with someone I knew, someone who’s brother I was friends with, someone actually had a crush on back in the day. Maybe she felt awkward after that maybe not sure how I felt and tried saving face? Does that sound plausible. More so directed to the girls but would you match with someone you knew or only if you were interested. I’ve honestly heard both. Would you do it twice especially if you hadn’t talked to that person in 20 years

Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing well!
I apologize if my questions seem a bit naive—I've recently decided to pursue a PhD or Psy.D in psychology because I'm interested in providing therapy, but I also want the flexibility to transition into academia or other sectors within psychology.
Here's some background about me: I graduated from a T5 school with a degree in neuroscience. During my undergraduate years, I aspired to become a psychiatrist and even took the MCAT, achieving decent results. However, I've come to realize that psychiatry primarily involves medication management, and I'm not particularly fond of the hard sciences, which comprise most of the medical school curriculum. Additionally, I'm not drawn to other medical specialties. This summer, while working as a behavioral tech, I discovered my passion for therapy and decided to pursue a career in the psychological field.
As someone new to this field, I have a few questions:

Will having a neuroscience major make me a less competitive applicant compared to psychology majors? I also have a lower gpa (3.6) and I know some psychology grad schools are notoriously competitive.
What type of degree should I pursue if my primary interest is providing therapy? I also have some interest in neuropsychology, but I'm undecided. I know a Psy.D. is probably the answer, but I've heard that psychologists with a PhD in counseling psychology or clinical psychology can also provide therapy. Does having a PhD grant more flexibility if I decide to transition to academia, consulting, or other sectors? Which PhD offers the most versatility?
Will my lack of research experience in psychology affect my application? I've spent two summers studying Parkinson's disease and I am published on one paper. Is that sufficient for grad school?
Is taking the GRE necessary now? After the MCAT, I'm confident in my test-taking abilities, but I'm hesitant to study again due to burnout and the additional expense. I've noticed that most schools don't even require it in 2024.
