2024.05.16 12:25 John13_34-35 Daughter better (on her own?) after taking one antibiotic pill. Does she have to finish the whole course of pills?

My 18 year old daughter had a round of antibiotics to prevent a non existing infection after having her wisdom teeth out. A few weeks later the whole family got sick with a bad cold (runny noses, sneezing, cough, laryngitis). She ended up being the worse out of all of us: fever for several days throwing up, horrible constant cough, sore throat, crying, chills, ear pressure, and generally feeling horrible. Covid test negative. Urgent clinic looked at her ears and saw evidence of the pressure, said probably secondary infection. (I wonder if she got this when the rest of us didn’t because of her recently impaired microbiome from the antibiotics?) Anyway, the urgent care dr gave her amoxicillin. She took the first pill last night. This morning she seems to be doing better and fever broke. I’m thinking it happened on its own, not from the one pill. Does she really need to take the rest of the amoxicillin pills? Or can she save the attack on her microbiome and just not take the remaining pills?

What Is The Story Behind Clubhouse Wood? Who Created It, And Why?

We found the story behind Clubhouse Wood quite interesting. You see, it has been created by Stirling Cooper, who is a well-known pornstar today. However, before he started thriving in the adult industry, he was a research chemist.
Ever since he decided to transition into the adult film industry, he knew that he had to work on his sexual performance to be someone people would like to watch on screen.
Hence, he started researching natural ingredients and research papers to figure out what an ideal sexual performance booster should look like.
After months of research and dedication, Stirling Cooper and his team of experts finally created Clubhouse Wood.
The core formula used in this dietary supplement has helped Cooper enhance his sexual function too. Since a lot of Clubhouse Wood reviews claim that its pills worked for them, we believed his story as well.

2024.05.16 11:21 festivaldumpling Does diluting elvanse/vyvanse in water alter effectiveness?

Hi guys, I've been diagnosed for over a year with adhd-c and its pretty debilitating. I put off meds because I didnt want to "change" myself but after a year of knowing how much this disorder actually effects me I'm now on titration
Its my second day on 20mg and its my second day diluting the contents of the pill in water for religious reasons (the capsule itself has gelatine). Granted, for cases like this I'm allowed to take it anyways but i feel like its not doing much? I dont know if its the dosage or the way im taking it.
Could anyone clarify whether they've experienced a difference in onset, comedown, and general effect when taking it different ways? Though it says in the pamphlet i can take it in water or yoghurt for example, it just feels like i only get an hour out of it if that. Im writing this now at the 2 hour mark of ingesting and I'm obviously procrastinating at work right now typing this. Yesterday i got some work done in a way that ive never done before for about 2 hours though. As in, there was no delay between knowing I have to do something and doing it which was so new to me. I really enjoyed it
Right now it feels like I ingested the idea of elvanse, and not elvanse itself.
Any help is much appreciated
TLDR
Does mixing the contents of elvanse change its effects and onset compared to taking it conventionally?
Thanks guys :)

2024.05.16 08:54 3thaddict Precise verified info on medical cannabis products?

I feel like the companies should have all the info on their sites, but... I have a very sensitive stomach, and I was to know exactly what is in the various oils, capsules, pills etc. but I can't really seem to find verifiable information on it. The cannareviews site has some info for some products, but I have no idea if it's legit or not.
Those flower capsules seemed interesting but then after some research they contain some random "filler" like PEA and piperine??? seems crazy, why not just have the cannabis by itself

2024.05.16 08:44 Educational-Moose-23 [Trans Fem Hrt] How long should you keep your progesterone suppository inside?

I am taking progesterone (Prometrium, white oil-filled capsules), my endo said it’s the same pill for oral and vaginal route, so I’m using it as a rectal suppository.
Sometimes when I have my bowel movement the next day, i can still feel the oil when I finish and use my bidet. That prompted my question: how long should I avoid bowel movement after applying the suppository? Also, I am assuming I should avoid others contacting the medication, similar to how we avoid others touching our area of application for estradiol gel/cream, is there a time frame to avoid rectal intercourse after applying the progesterone as a rectal suppository?

2024.05.16 06:37 booksandmusic91 Barely noticed I gave my dog double the dosage of Prednisone 5mg for a week!

I'm an idiot and noticed it said to give once a day and not twice! It has been 6 days since she's been on medication. I haven't noticed anything odd with my dog other than her being really thirsty. She has gained a bit of weight but I attributed it to her not being on our daily walks as I was told to treat the sprain like a human sprain and not let her walk too much (and no running or jumping) for 2 weeks. Also I give her a piece of puppy patty when giving her the pills as any other method doesn't work with her.
I did call the vet but the person who picked up dismissed my concern saying it's fine but I'm very worried.
These are the other meds she was given - all to take twice a day:
-Gabapentin (liquid) - 1 CC
She sometimes shakes but I'm not sure what that is about.
Please let me know!

2024.05.16 03:37 FullExamination4892 Can I open the blueprint capsules and pour the powder into the Longevity Mix?

I am currently doing the Blueprint protocol with all the products from the website.
The protocol involves taking 8 pills a day, but I really hate swallowing pills and would much rather take them in form of drinks.
Besides the Essential Softgels that cannot be opened, all other 7 daily capsules could potentially be opened to extract the powder inside.
Can I do that, and mix all the powders from the capsules into the Longevity Mix, for 1 single drink?
Would that cause side effects or issues with absorption for some of these components? Thank you!

2024.05.16 02:16 Select-Hamster5484 Timelines…?

At what point does the burning sensation and sharp stabby abdominal pain stop while on Vanco? I went to urgent care and they didn’t treat me for c diff at all they only prescribed the 10 day Vanco every 6 hours because I most likely had the infection. History is I have had it before in 2019 and the just recently (April 2024) I was on Amoxicillin Clav & Pantoprazole (at the same time) both of which screws the gut up and ups the risk of c diff infection. In the middle of taking the Augmentin I got diarrhea (the kind that sounds like peeing from your butt) cramping and gastritis type symptoms. The pain felt like I would die so I went to urgent care and they said they would treat me blind because of the possibility. I should’ve quit the pills but the sinus infection was boxing my ass so I took probiotics and finished the course. Here we are 5 weeks later and 2 weeks post covid off Paxlovid and I want to know when will my symptoms disappear? Granted I was worried it wasnt c diff because my symptoms were down right horrendous but once I started the Vanco (only day 3/10) some of the symptoms showed improvement. Its just the pain is not gone and very annoying pain at this point. Should I wait the course of Vanco to be finished before worrying its not c diff and its something else? How long did ig take your symptoms to improve? Was it during or after oral treatment?

So I had pretty mild tinnitus could only hear it in pitch quiet environments but ever since I took one 500mg pill it has increased to a 9/10 from 3/10 and it’s been 12 days since I took this pill. Did I make my brain become aware of it to the point of hearing it even in noisy environments.

2024.05.15 23:37 autistickle How many times a day do you take IR Diamox?

I'm currently on 500mg ER capsules of Diamox, once a day. Been on this dose for years, and my Dr. says it's ok to try tapering.
In my understanding that means I need to switch to IR tablets, because ER capsules don't come smaller than 500mg.
Do any of you take IR once a day or does everyone take it two or three times a day?
Has anyone had tough side effects switching from ER to IR?
I'm trying to plan the smoothest taper possible and feeling nervous about it 😅.

2024.05.15 23:27 Tasty-Music-4806 Dog meds stored in cheese/hotdog/pill pocket, etc.

My dog takes 3 pills twice a day. I'm going on vacation and will be boarding her. I'll provide each meal in an individual ziploc bag, but I'm wondering if I can prepackage the meds into a cheeseball, hotdog, or pill pouch for the daycare as well? I've messaged her vet and scoured the internet, but I'm getting nowhere. She's on a gabapentin capsule and carprofen chewable (she won't chew outright) that I'd like to put inside one of those options and provide the daycare with labeled bags for each dose. Of course they'd keep anything in the cheese or hotdog refrigerated, and I'm assuming that wouldn't impact either drug's efficacy. TIA

2024.05.15 20:49 TTheRake Help to figure out hydration

Hi guys! I'm training for my first 100k and i'm encountering some hydration problem that i was hoping you could help me figure out.
Every Sunday i go for a long run and at the moment i'm running around 60k and 3000m of elevation. Temperature is generally between 10C and 20C. I usually carry with me: 2 liters of isotonic solution (that i can remake at different fountains), half a liter of water, fruit jelly for fuel and a couple of almonds. The issue i encounter is always the same. Many hours into the run (6+h) i start feeling thirsty and at the same time i start peeing very frequently, to the point i feel like i can't really drink anymore despite the feeling of thirst. From here things really go south fast. I quickly stop being able to eat and start feeling confused and tired. In a couple of hours i am forced to stop completely. While the need to pee stops quite soon as i stop drinking, the feeling of thirst persist well after the run. It takes usually around 24h to go away and seems to improve ever so slightly after eating a meal. Last run i have tried supplementing with salt pills (300mg sodium per h increased to 500mg the last two h), but it didn't change much the symptoms, although it made me throw up salty water 1h after the end of the run.
The question that i have is simple. Am i dehydrated, overhydrated or in hyponatremia ? I cannot really fit my symptoms together. The thirst makes me feel like i'm dehydrated but that doesn't explain why i have to constantly pee. Hyponatremia could make sense as this issue usually kick in during the descent, when i don't sweat as much and i might be consuming to much water. However i would expect the salt pills to reduce it or at least delay it and it still doesn't fit with the fact that i am thirsty all the time.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on with me? Thanks in advance

2024.05.15 20:42 AwstinEvans TIFU by overdosing on Cetirizine

So over the past few days, my allergies have been flaring up worse than they have any year before this one. I had never really had allergies up until about 3 years ago, and since then they have been getting worse and worse with each passing year. My eyes have been super itchy, which has never been a problem, and the roof of my mouth has been a bit more itchy and annoying than usual. Because of this, I obviously started taking allergy pills to remedy it, specifically "Aller-Tec," or, as it is generically called, cetirizine. I haven't had the best sleep schedule as of late, mostly due to getting off of college for the summer, where 5–6 a.m. nights in the studio were pretty common, so getting up at noon has been pretty normal for me. Right when I wake up, I take one pill to help for most of the day, and it works just fine until around 9 or 10 p.m., when my allergies start to flare up again and I take another. It's around here that I should mention that I have felt like utter garbage the past few days. My mood has been all over the place. I am constantly tired, depressed, and really on edge. To the point where yesterday I yelled something at my mom, something I NEVER do. I am typically a pretty "happy-go-lucky" guy, and I love my mom. On top of this, when I get in bed at night, I have been having horrible chest pains and ciculatory issues that cause numbing and aching pains all over my body, making sleep incredibly difficult. 2 nights ago, the chest pains got so bad that I thought I was actually having a heart attack at 20 years old. Of course, I just assumed that my mood being all over the place was due to the fact that either I have been struggling to find summer work or that I'm away from school and my friends. Even just yesterday, I assumed that my chest pains were due to the fact I had been sitting on my ass playing Skyrim for over a week and not getting enough sunlight, so I went on a 2-hour bike ride to get some exercise in. These pieces all came together last night, when I was playing some games with friends over Discord. My allergies started flaring up again, to the point where I could barely see my monitor through the tears in my eyes. The roof of my mouth was on fire, and my nose was flooding with snot. I excused myself for a minute to go and get some more allergy pills. As I was about to take my second pill within 8 hours of the last, I decided I wanted to check the label to see if it was maybe okay to take MORE than what I was already taking. Of course, the label clearly stated, "DO NOT EXCEED MORE THAN ONE CAPSULE PER DAY." I was horrified because, not only have I been taking more than one, but in one instance, I had technically taken 3 within a 24 hour period. I immediately ran upstairs to check my computer, and lo and behold, the top results for cetirizine overdose symptoms are as follows:
Symptoms of Overdose
I had been actively overdosing on allergy pills the past few days. Part of this shock was actually relief funnily enough because me feeling like shit the past few days, and treating other people like shit, was not really a problem with me, but actually the obsene amounts of stimulants in my system. I can happily report that last night I fell asleep just fine with no chest pain and woke up today feeling a whole lot better. My parents were horrified when I told them, my brother (rightfully so) called me a "fucking idiot." And before anyone in the comments says anything, I have already called my doctor for prescription strength allergy medications. The moral of the story is, obviously, please read the labels on medication bottles.
EDIT: Edit because I feel like I need to clarify a few things. Firstly, what I was taking was 10mg prescription strength cetirizine. Second, I know this doesn't seem like a high amount but I have sensitivities to a lot of things including alcohol, and have had problems with other medications in the past. Lastly, some comments pointed out that some of these concerns may be related to stress or anxiety. While yes I have struggled with these things before, it has not been a problem for a while, and all of these side effects stopped after not taking them anymore.
TL;DR: I have been feeling like garbage the past few days with no clue as to why, turns out I have been overdosing on allergy medication.

2024.05.15 19:57 pumpkinlatte56 Probiotic recommendations?

Hey! So I've tried almost everything under the sun to get rid of my almost year long yeast infection. The only thing I haven't yet tried is the candida diet, which I started today, and I was looking into probiotics! I'm just not sure which ones to get? I'm looking for something a little on the cheaper side, but I also can't take pills, and most of them I've found seem to be as capsules :( are there any that are like, a powder you can mix with water or something? Or gummies? Or even suppositories? I just can't get pills down, it never works, I'd rather avoid the additional struggle right now. If you have any recommendations they'd be super helpful!
Edit: I found some on Amazon, it won't let me put a link in, but they're the "OMOGS women's probiotic, 3 prebiotic" packets! Would these be good? It looks like you just drink 1 a day

2024.05.15 19:51 burning-gal Neem causing breakouts?

Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding the use of neem leaf for internal use.
I have been taking neem leaf extract for about 3 weeks, half a capsule or a capsule a day for h pylori, Candida and SIBO. I really love how it improves my stomach issues, but it causes me bad headaches, extreme fatigue, horrible bloating, dizziness on certain days and horrible gas, and recently skin breakouts. I know it is neem because when I stop the pills the pimples go away.
It’s so annoying, I never gotten this type of acne since I was a teenager.
I am wondering if this is connected to its cleansing properties, or it doesn’t agree with me, or it affects my hormones? My period is late and I am not sure if it is due to neem or I am having a bad cycle. I am not pregnant.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

2024.05.15 19:35 lostandconfused87890 Advice on tooth abscess treatment from dentist

My #15 upper left molar is infected with abscess from a fracture while grinding my teeth resulting in this elongated bump on my gum probably at the root near the tooth. This tooth currently has a crown and had a root canal back in 2018.
My dentist wants to get the infection under control then do a tooth extraction so he prescribed amoxicillin 500mg last Thursday and the bump has not drained or made any changes and honestly looks slightly bigger to me. I have no pain really just some pressure in my cheek (no bad swelling in my face) and the elongated bump in my mouth. He is now prescribing me a higher antibiotic. My dentist did not want to do the tooth extraction as it was close to my sinus. I have a scheduled extraction for the tooth with an oral surgeon he referred me to on May 31. I asked them again when they called back if it’s ok to wait until May 31 for the tooth extraction and they said yes it’s fine.
I am having severe anxiety that this is going to spread and I’m going to die if I don’t get the tooth out.
Can someone please let me know if I should try another oral surgeon to get an earlier appointment? Is this normal to wait so long for treatment? Any other advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

2024.05.15 17:52 trashleystaterthots restoring gut health after antibiotics

so this feeling started back in january right after i finished my antibiotics, specifically amoxicillin. i was given 14 pills to finish in a week for sinus infection. after i was done with them, i started feeling this lump in my throat that would never go away but i never had any symptoms besides that. fast forward two months later i get sick again with what i think is another sinus infection and go to the doctors. the doctor didn’t mention anything about possibly having an infection and prescribed me with another 14 pills of amoxicillin. the only reason i went to the doctor so quick is because i was about to go back to college, so i wanted to get it checked out sooner. after i finished the second round, i started experiencing constant burps and hiccups, and triggers to foods. i can eat almost anything without my stomach hurting, but the lump in my throat seems bigger than what it was before i took my second round of antibiotics. the ENT said i might have acid reflux (GERD) or LPR, but i feel as it may be something else. i'm looking into making an appointment with a GI doctor. i've never had any health issues before, and it was my first time taking antibiotics so i didn't know much nor was informed by the doctor about side effects and how i should restore my gut health. has anyone had these same issues? or if you have, how did you restore your gut health?

2024.05.15 17:32 Planet4 Pill pilled (Perfect Blue)

Just listened to Perfect Blue and must say that for 40+ years whenever I take pills I THROW them into my mouth.
I gather any number of the little health candies in my cupped palm, then slam that hand up to my face to launch them in my gob.
Two reasons for this. One, uncoated pills universally taste awful. There is no way I'd lay one directly onto my tongue and increase the time it's in contact with my taste buds.
Two, that's how movies taught me I was supposed to do it.
Thing is, it doesn't make much sense. I toss them in and then... they're just there while I sip water and swirl them around until they "feel right" for swallowing. The only benefit is less time on the tongue... which does not matter with capsules.
Thank you movies, for teaching me all that you have.
