Unfortunately yesterday I got in a lil accident in Los Angeles. I was waiting for a left hand turn in my truck down a small one lane street and saw a young adult pull up to the light on a personally owned e-scooter, came to a stop and turned around looking back. The light was green, so I took that as him waiting/not taking the light and continued my turn. As I crossed he hit the gas on his e-scooter and ran into the rear quarter panel of my truck damaging the front tire of his scooter. I was going about 10mph not speeding. I got out and made sure he was ok. He was fine took pics of the license plate and I gave him my phone number and said I’d pay for the scooter. We agreed and parted ways. Never gave him my name, address, insurance etc. just my number and the pic of the license plates.
Now his brother is texting me saying he’s not well he’s really bad they need to take him to the hospital and his finger and foot hurts. Sent me an inflated non itemized bill for the scooter at 1400$, when I went to the website the most expensive scooter on there is 800$ and 500$ the next one. I think they got two scooters with insurance and tryna make me pay for both of them by refusing to show the itemized receipt.
I get the feeling their gonna try and take me on a money run or threaten to sue and make a police report. What should I do if they try to pursue that route instead of me paying for the scooter? And can they file anything against me with the info they have? Number and license plate. No video footage. Just my word against his. I didn’t hit and run.

Sammy is his name, he needs help now more than ever because he is currently fighting for his life. Two months ago he was attacked by a pitbull that had no leash while my brother was walking Sammy. The entire attack happened in less than 10 seconds but the damage was devastating. The only reason why Sammy survived the attack was due to my brother's quick actions. My brother wrapped his hands around the pitbull's neck and choked him until he let go of Sammy (No the pitbull wasn't hurt at all). When the pitbull let go Sammy came off his harness and took off running despite his right front leg being broken. My brother ran after Sammy and was just barely able to get to him before a car passed by almost running over Sammy. Sammy was in critical condition but he lived to fight another day.
For the next two months Sammy spent all his time in and out of hospitals. He had a broken leg, had a tube on his stomach, stitches all over his back, and of course had to wear a cone. The first night he got back home he was hardly able to lay down to sleep due to the cone, broken leg, and tube on his side. All of this happened meanwhile the owner of the pitbull faced ZERO CONSEQUENCES for his actions. Due to living where we do, and what we've heard regarding the individual, we felt like we couldn't do anything about it. Like I said, Sammy had pulled through and was on track to being 100 percent .
Thousands upon thousands of dollars later, Sammy was about 90 percent back to "normal"....That was until this past week
Not even two weeks after Sammy had healed from the pitbull attack.. Sammy started to lose control of his body... he refused to walk and fell going up the stairs. He was tripping over himself and was drinking loads and loads of water. Once again Sammy needed to go back to the hospital.For the past three days Sammy has been in the hospital receiving all the care the rest of our money could offer him. Although we have tried our best, everything is pointing to neurological issues. We are tapped out of money, neurologist are already insanely expensive...WE LIVE CALIFORNIA... we have no idea just how insane the price tag will be for everything Sammy will need moving forward...if he has a tumor I can only imagine...Sammy does not deserve to go out like this. Before we had Sammy he already had lived a tough life. He was relegated to living in backyards with no shade in the California heat. He was in and out of animal shelters. Who knows what else he went through before he came to our lives. Sammy has spent the past almost ten years now living with a family that truly loves him. I personally would give ten years of my life to save him. He has two other brothers that wouldn't be the same without him...
I ask, will you please help Sammy out? It would mean the world to us all. Please help us help him live a truly long life. He still has so much to live for. My wife and I are looking to buy a home in Los Angeles. At the back of the property there's a wall. On our side it's just a wall but there's apartments behind us that use it as a carport, complete with roof and storage cabinets under the roof.
This wall runs over 700 feet, through multiple homes backyards, with multiple apartment complexes on the other side.
The wall on our property is bowed towards our house a bit and the stucco is flaking off due to the outward pressure. To be honest it looks like someone from the other side hit the wall with their car.
If I understand the law correctly in California shared wall costs are split 50/50 when it's on the property line as this wall appears to be. I haven't had a surveyor out there yet, but from checking the LADBS website it's on the line.
If the cost of repairing this wall is on us, or even half on us, we will probably pass on the house as the wall is super high and I can only imagine what it would cost to fix.
If the responsibility and cost are those of the apartment building owners, who are using the wall as a carport, then I plan to purchase the home and send them certified letters until I get an acknowledgement that they received it and are aware so they can't claim they didn't know if the wall fails entirely.

I’ve been renting on and off from there for about year or so…. Dropped my last rental off there about 6 weeks ago or so… they didn’t mention anything about closing. Very weird. LA is a huge market, and right by the airport too, it just seems weird for them to shut down their only Flexdrive location in Los Angeles proper area

This is one of my favorite episodes, from Season 4 I believe, but I have to admit a lot of what happens makes zero sense at all.
-Chrissy forgetting to lock the front door, which was apparently a regular thing? If it happened enough times, they would have came back to their apartment cleared out. I mean, it's Los Angeles!
-The boy (I think his name was Todd?) trespasses in their apartment. But he's rich? If he's rich, he must have access to pretty much anything he wanted (games, hobbies, toys, etc), so why was he wandering into other people's homes to amuse himself?
-What did the boy want with Jack's trophy? It would have had Jack's name on it, so if he stole it, people would know it's not his.
-Why was Furley spazzing out about the kid? He's literally a harmless 12-year old boy. Furley acted like he needed to be locked up in prison. Granted, Furley was definitely more hyperactive in his earlier episodes.
-It's highly unlikely that Janet and Chrissy couldn't have seen right through the boy's charade of feigning mistreatment by Jack whenever the girls entered the room since his timing was way off. The girls would be in the room for a full 5 seconds before he would start feigning injuries and stuff.

Can I as an upcoming international graduate student relocating to Seattle from Los Angeles keep my California driver’s license and California plates? I have been an international student for a while and I will be transferring my I-20 from a Californian school to a school in Washington. I will also be traveling to my home country to receive my new visa stamp over the summer. The I-20 transfer will take place before that.
