2024.05.16 15:28 Purple-Yesterday-452 Does my Huawei P20 Lite have a virus or malware and how do I remove it?

I installed a pirated app (although I did download it from a website listed as safe in the Piracy megathread) and immediately after Play Protect told me to uninstall it because it was infected. So I did. Then I did a factory reset from EMUI (the Android ROM that Huawei devices use). Afterwards, my phone still ran slow so I factory reset it again from recovery mode, thinking that would make a difference. But it also didn't. Before resetting from recovery mode though, I booted into safe mode to check if it ran slow in there. It did. After both data resets and once booted into safe mode, I looked at all my installed apps along with system processes but I don't think I saw any suspicious app (anything that stood out and had a clickbaity name), though I will post the list or screenshots of the list with system processes if you think it is necessary information in removing the virus.
If it ran slow in recovery mode does that mean that the malware has infected the recovery partition of the device and I will need to reflash my ROM to fix that as my research has led me to believe? If so, what is the safest website to get the ROM plus tools needed to reflash, and the safest method to reflash the phone?
Also, could it be slow because of any other reason and how can I confirm that it has a virus or malware since Play Protect says the device is safe, so maybe the malware got removed but I honestly think it's still there.
My EMUI version is 9.1.0.313(C792E6R1P3).
Any guidance in this matter or fixes for the problem will be greatly appreciated.

2024.04.15 10:33 wicckedman Random disconnect + reset watch prompt - possible solution (for Huawei)

Hi, as someone who's been struggling with random disconnects/watch unpairing from the phone and losing a lot of time to reset and resetup my watch, I think I found a way to prevent it.
I have a non-samsung phone (Huawei P30 pro - so it creates additional issues), not sure how it works for other phones.
So for Huawei phone the new versions of Galaxy Wearable/Galaxy watch plugin (watch 4) prevents from using "add accessory via Samsung Health" method of pairing the watch, that's why I'm using older versions and just don't update:
If you get the "unpair and reset your watch" prompt, you can try the following method:
  1. Clear all data (not just cache) of Galaxy Wearable and Galaxy watch plugin in your phone.
  2. Go to Accounts and backup settings on your watch, scroll down to the "transfer watch to new phone" and click.
  3. Go to Samsung Health on your phone, settings - add accessory - Galaxy watch 4.
  4. Then go offline on your phone (turn off wifi/mobile), click "pair" in Samsung Health.
  5. You will start the regular pairing process, once it prompts you to login to Samsung and Google accounts, you can go online again.
  6. You will get the pairing in progress screen with percentage on it. It usually goes until 85% and the freezes - don't freak out. You can then interrupt this on your phone, to my surprise the watch was paired again.
I only had to resetup Google Assistant on my watch and some notification settings, other than it is as it was before. Not sure if this will work once again in the future, fingers crossed since I'm fed up with this resetting issue. It's seems like it's a Wear OS 4 thing, not necessarily Samsung Wearable app, so no way to avoid it.
Hope this will prove helpful for someone, especially with Huawei Phones.

2024.04.03 15:10 JunBInnie HELP 2 OF MY PHONES ARE STUCK IN A REBOOT LOOP

I have 2 phones: Samsung & Huawei. Earlier this morning, when my phone alarm rang, the samsung screen started to freeze and then it started to get stuck in an endless restart loop, not being able to get past the samsung logo. I've tried everything & it didn't work so I sent it for a repair and they suspected the battery at first. They changed it but it's still stuck so they tried resetting it. I haven't heard from them yet so I don't know if it worked but since it's been hours, I guess it's bad news.
The thing is, just now I charged the Huawei phone and put it aside for some time. the battery was at around 26% when I started to check the phone and touch it then it STARTS TO ENTER THE RESTART LOOP LIKE MY SAMSUNG????? I'm honestly so freaked out right now. Like both phones at the same time??
I've used the charger for a LONG time (same charger for both - not original. just mixed and matched adaptors & cables a long time ago, I don't even remember where I got either of them from. Heck, maybe the cable is original I honestly don't remember at all). The only difference is yesterday, I took out the cable & plugged it into my car usb port. Then after I arrived home, I took the cable out & plugged it back into my charger as usual. It's the only common factor that's causing both phones to enter this state, although it wasn't immediate.
In the case of the samsung phone, I charged it yesterday at around 5pm til 100%, used it normally that night, and it only stopped working at around 4am this morning when my alarm was ringing.
As for the huawei, I somehow managed to boot it into safe mode (the stuffs on the screen was slightly moving around when I was trying to do it) but somehow I managed to get it to work. I'm testing if it can last without rebooting after a while by playing a youtube video.
I don't know how all these points connect together, but please help, what should I do? I managed to still get the huawei to function but if I touch it too much it'll start restarting again so I just put it aside scared that I'd make things worse.

2024.04.02 17:14 OverBookkeeper182 Time is wrong on Huawei App

Today I found out that in sleeping tracker on the Huawei Health app the time of falling asleep and waking up is wrong by one hour. What is strange is that the watch shows correct hours. Both on the watch and on the phone the time is set up correctly so it seems that the app has the wrong time. I tried using „synchronize” option a couple of times and reset both devices but the report of my last sleep on the app is still showing the wrong one. Did anyone have such a problem? Any ideas how to solve it?

2024.03.17 01:00 irishcuppa Huawei Watch Buds speakers not working correctly?

Hey everyone!
About a year ago I got Huawei Watch Buds from eBay. They worked fine with the Health app and everything, on my iPhone and Android. After like 2 months the main speakers stopped working, I tried everything from resetting to using a different device and cleaning them.
This is the only Huawei device I own, I tried looking it up on Google but it's almost like the Watch doesn't exist. All I get is other Huawei Watches or Free Buds. I mean, I know it's a gimmick but still...
I just don't know what to do, I tried the Huawei Support page, which is a whole mess on its own and when I try to check the Warranty it just says "No product information available"
But it's not something I broke, it just stopped working, so I don't feel like I should have to pay for it? It's not like I dropped it or got it wet.
I originally tried to get them fixed when it happened but it was such a frustrating proccess that I gave up.
I found the Support Chat feature, which I will try on Monday, but how is it that there's so little information about it?
I'm open to any and all suggestions, please '
Edit: I wanted to clarify that there is still sound coming out of the Buds, it just sounds like it's coming from the back of the Buds instead of the main speaker, if that makes sense.

2024.03.14 15:17 LKYReddit Annoying things about 5 VI

Sony take notes, I am basically giving you free actual user feedback......
Non-user friendly UI for everyday causal captures:
Basic mode does not take the same quality of picture as auto mode, therefore I basically have to stay in Auto most of the time. Which is very annoying especially when I want to switch to video mode for quick capture, which takes three extra button press to do so going back to basic mode.
Blurry night photo due to shutter speed:
In Auto mode I can only use the physical button for shutter. Which is quite annoying especially in low night environment. When you press the physical button it is guaranteed that you shake the phone, albeit slightly, and the auto shutter speed OBVIOUSLY does not take account of this. So you are basically also guaranteed to get a blurry picture in low night environment. The only way to compensate for this is to switch to S or M mode to adjust the shutter speed manually..... WHICH IS ALSO VERY ANNOYING when you have to readjust the shutter speed for each zoom lens.
The heat:
I live in a climate average 30+ celcius. I have to lower the setting to 3G and 60hz in order to get a functioning phone, which is annoying because many places do not get good 3G signals. A mid range, low end experience with a flagship phone...
The f**king notifications, this is the absolute deal breaker:
I use all three messaging apps, WhatsApp, LINE, and Wechats. I do not get notification half of the time when people call me thru these apps, even after resetting the phone, and mess with the setting repeatedly to give the apps the most permissions. I do not have stamina mode on at all. I don't if it is their stupid battery management setting or bugs, IT IS ABSOLUTELY THE MOST ANNOYING THING about this phone. LINE is a f**king Japanese app, how can you mess this s*** up?
I switched to samsung after little more than one year with this xperia.... I never had so many problem with a phone before, even with a Huawei (before US ban). Now I can finally use a phone that at least does not frustrate me.
Yes, the color is great with the Xperia, but only with good natural lighting. In back light, low night, artifical light environment you are stuck with picture quality of a five years old flagship, even my old huawei mate 20 took better auto low night picture than this. Video quality... in basic mode.. is horrendous, flickering in LED lighted room... Really? Your program really cannot give me the right setting to aviod LED flickering? Yea.. I also have to turn to airplane mode to capture a long video... Phone basically not functional after any video over 1 to 2 minutes outside.
Please, at least make a decent usable software/ hardware experience for users... Rathering than relying on glorified manual setting options for a tiny sensor that can't probably take advantages of all these options. Who the hell brings a tripod for their phone just to take causal pictures at night?
I own two generations of A7s, and I am happy with them, I really can't say the same for Sony's phone. I ever owned any phone for less than 2 years.

2024.02.29 16:58 Fabulous-Ball4198 Clone everything to new phone with LineageOS

Hi,
I'm aware of backup thing in LineageOS. This is my very first use of LineageOS and I cannot find route how to clone everything from old phone which is Huawei with Google services ON (stock), to Xiaomi (LineageOS, no Google services as I don't want them). Stock backup/restore Xiaomi app is not recognizing phone as a Xiaomi due to obviously no MIUI. Main thing that are text messages and contacts.
Now, just asking to save time if someone done it so far?:
  1. Factory reset
  2. Install zip with GAPPS
  3. restore Google services from Google backup (contacts, text messages etc)
  4. Make LineageOS backup
  5. Factory reset
  6. Restore LineageOS from previously created backup when Google services were installed, but now aren't.
Does it make any sense and should work to work around to restore my messages and contacts?

2024.02.27 00:45 licryle DesktopMode on MagicOS 8 - Magic 5 Pro

DesktopMode on MagicOS 8 - Magic 5 Pro
Hi folks,
I've decided to run a little experiment in the last 2 months, which is to replace my full laptop by... An Android phone with Desktop mode support! Which means my current laptop is IP68 and doesn't need to synchronize ever with another machine, only to the cloud for backups!
I intend to document, from the desktop mode itself, my experience with this setup. In a wild dream, some PM at Honor will read this and get fundings to fix some of the top pain points and make it a truly great desktop. Whenever you see P0,P1,P2... these are prioritization of top pain points from my point of view.
I don't pretend by no means it's a perfect experience, nor that I have figured all workarounds out yet, but I just want to share back and dispell any question if anyone is curious to try it out too. Also, some things I write today might be invalid tomorrow indeed.
I must say, it does feel a but like leaving in the future though and I'd be curious to see if any hardware constructor is gonna make such drastic shift and risk cannibalizing laptop sales. I feel we are, afterall, getting back to the "terminal era" where a lot of data is stored and processed in the cloud with light clients (or heavy for optimization, not functionalities).

About me

Just so you understand where I come from:
  • A former full stack developer, with Android app and PHP/Mysql experience mostly.
  • Turned technical product manager at a GAFAM after exploring other roles at said GAFAM, where I spent most of the first part of my career.
I don't necessary live on the bleeding edge of tech, and often prefer low tech but reliable alternatives. So this experiment may feel a little out of bound for me.

What phone: Honor Magic 5 pro

Because I live in China at the moment, I decided to go for a premium local phone with top specs, meaning I get the top bang for the buck! (Yes, I'm price conscious)
Among the premium models in China: - Xiaomi doesn't have desktop mode - Huawei doesn't have native Google support - Oppo has Google, but doesn't seem to have a Desktop mode either - Honor has both
I saw raving reviews about the Magic 5 Pro and got one with 16Gb RAM + 512Gb disk for RMB4.670 (around USD660) late Nov 2023.
I won't review the phone, you can find ample reviews online, but overall happy, especially with so many stretched uses I can get out of it.

What "lapdock": Omiodo

For the portable screen, there is little choice in China for a "lapdock", which means I went with an Omiodo. They offer 4 models:
  • 13.3" with or without wireless projection (miraCast?) - RMB1278-1378
  • 14.1" with or without wireless projection - RMB1378-1478
I'm used to more screen real-estate, so I went for 14.1" and no wireless. I trust my own cable more and wouldn't survive the lag Wifi comes with :)

How good is it?

The screen goes up to 1920x1080 which is quite comfortable on the go. The luminosity is quite good, even in broad daylight. I was impressed when opening it that the manufacture looks quite qualitative. The keyboard is also quite comfortable to use, and has backlighting.
I also really appreciate that I can charge the phone, or decide not too. Most of the time, I don't charge my phone because the phone has a good battery life. The screen battery allows me to go up to 8h if I don't charge the phone, which the phone usually doesn't need. That's a good enough performance compared to laptops IMHO.

So what's not good?

  1. [P0] The touchpad is a lackluster - and I have similar issues as I would have on my laptop/debian, meaning it'd feel like the pointer jumps on the screen. So I'm unclear if it's a software or hardware issue, or a mix of both. Hence, I find myself reaching out more and more to the touch screen which is an interesting modus operandi "half mouse, half screentouch"
  2. [P1] No camera :( I got a dock on the screen to hold the phone vertically for conf calling, but it's not centered or some conf calls don't like the vertical factor
  3. [P2] No hardware battery indicator: I wish I could check how much battery is left without opening/turning it on
  4. [P3] The speakers don't have any power, but my phone does and there's a jack port, so it's totally ok!
Note that on Taobao (local Amazon), it features excellent reviews.

The desktop mode

Now to the meat of the review... As soon as I got my phone, I went on to install Neo Store & Termux with all needed packages.
Note that Honor MagicOS8+ and international version, it comes with Google out of the box, there's a quick toggle to turn on in the settings. In my case though (MagicOS7), I had to request it and wait a few days + procure myself the Google Play APK. Simple enough!
Surprised Google services are shipped in China? Premium devices costing USD600 or more may (maybe) have the option! Services access is still blocked by the great firewall indeed - it's intended for locals traveling abroad.

What works

Generally speaking, you can daily drive with some caveats and workflow adjustements, but it's an interesting experiment which feels like living a bit in the future.

Modes

I use my phone in 4 modes now: - Handheld, like a regular phone - Home/workstation where I put a magnetic holder atop my 27" screen. I simply connect the USB-C cable and my keyboard, mouse, ethernet are all instantly accessible in Android. - Laptop mode, where I also use a magnetic holder on the left side and a short cable to transform into a touchscreen laptop. - Gaming mode, connect the PS4 controller and the phone to the video projector, and you're on for a good gaming session, alone or with friends if you have multiple controllers.
Transitions between Phone and Desktop mode is interesting: - The phone screen and the desktop screens evolve in parallel. They don't really interact (except through regular App interactions like Intents etc.). - You can't have the same app opened both screens. No drag and drop between screens. If you open it on the desktop, it closes it on the phone screen resetting the app state. - The notifications appear on both screens, including persistent nofications. So clicking on them can make the app close and reopen on the screen you clicked on. It can interrupt whatever flow you were in. - Of course, there's no more need to synchronize anything because you're on the same phone. And that's great :D - Even if you disconnect the Desktop mode, reopening the Desktop mode within a minute saves all apps/windows positioning. It's not always true though, and it's not clear to me when or not my "opened windows" will be saved. - Windows size and positions are saved between sessions (a.k.a. if I app an app after a reboot, the size and positioning of it will be saved on the desktop mode)

Daily driving

On a daily basis, I mostly: Work on documents, Schedule and take VideoCalls, Chat. Once in a while, I also develop for Web or Android.

So what apps work best so far?

  • Chrome Beta: Chrome doesn't support desktop mode. Chrome Beta does, so Chrome Beta it is. Recently, Chrome Beta introduced the possibility to have multiple windows. You can't drag and drop tabs between windows, but you can move them from the menu - huge win considering we spend so much time in the browser these days. Notably, and sadly, Chromium based browsers on Android don't seem to have a workable print feature that works with Honor. Sharing to printer prints... the URL to PDF. I've had to fill the gap with another WebToPrint app.
  • Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets). Generally, I'd say the Google suite is disappointing in Desktop mode: they lack features, don't make use of the whole space for comments in particular. So I find myself switching constantly to opening them in Chrome Beta, but there are "zoom issues" (it zooms on its own to 1000% with no possibility to revert) or bonkers keyboard issues (not all typed are displayed or registered which doesn't happen on other websites).
  • Google mail: it's not ready for keyboards... Ctrl+C goes to open a new email, not copy the text, for example.
  • Microsoft Swiftkey! Because I keep switching between 3 western languages and Chinese, the only keyboard I found to fit my request is Microsoft Swiftkey. DO put it in floating mode for desktop mode. It does have some issues in styling (can't always select good contrast), or worse in typing - it's sometimes just not cooperating and I have to restart the desktop mode. A little disappointing, especially since the Chinese predictions are not the best. Note that Honor has released its own suite of apps for all editions you want, but I'm quite locked in and used to Google Docs at this stage. However, this review is written in Obsidian for its Markup support.
On the development realm: - Solid Explorer is really a step above other file managers I've tried, especially with its 2 side by side windows to move files around, including SFTP. But, for a free version, Material Files does just fine, including (S)FTP connections. - Termux of course, for, well, everything Geeky. But it doesn't support multiple windows, only multiple sessions in the same window, and copy/paste is generally not intuitive. However, you can do whatever you like from running a Nginx/PHP to running some LLMs locally. - Kiwi browser: Chrome doesn't have Web Developer tools, but Kiwi (Chromium based) does :D It also supports Chrome Extensions, but I haven't figured out how to make them work properly. - AndroidIDE: a barebone Android IDE. I must say, I haven't been lucky with it. My compiled app just crashes. - Code-server + Chrome Beta is a solid locally run VSCode, and all you need is a couple of Termux commands to install it.
Generally speaking, it will require testing a few apps before finding the right one, as few are designed for a larger screen estate, or for a keyboard. Hopefully this changes in a few years.

What apps are missing?

  • I haven't found a good System performance/Task manager app

What's needing improvements in MagicOS to make it a great Desktop

The window manager needs some improvements, in particular: 1. [P0] Max resolutions is 1920x1080 - WHY, oh WHY? Even the phone native display runs higher than that... I just couldn't bypass that setting, but if anyone has an idea... Please bump it to 2k / 2560x1440 at least! 2. [P0] Magnet/Snapping windows to the sides of the screen is a bit wonky. Resizing windows in general is hard with cursors. If the snapping could support all 4 corners on top of just left/right - it would make it amazing. Sometimes the snapping on the screen simply fails. The flow starts, left you pick the other app on the opposite screen, then fails to snap the window. 3. [P2] Picture-in-Picture is partially broken - you can only drag it on the top left 60% of the screen
Stability. While generally good, there are minor issues: 1. [P0] Rare Hard reboots. Some apps/scenarios just make my whole phone reboot. It's rare and only happens in desktop mode. 2. [P1] Every hour, the screen will flickefail 1 or 2 times then the desktop mode restart on its own. It's a 5 seconds mandatory break - not nice. 3. [P1] Every once in a while, the system freezes for 4 seconds, can't even move the pointer but then it recovers fully.
Notifications/Task baDesktop! 1. [P0] There's no way to easily consult my notifications on the desktop. I have to constantly click on the notification bar when it has a red dot. But that red dot may not be an actual notification. So here, Honor should have a Do Not Disturb toggle and allow for android notifications to show up briefly at the bottom right corner. 2. [P1] Cannot add deep-link app shortcuts on the desktop. Within an app on Desktop mode, if you do "Add to the desktop", it goes to the phone homescreen, instead of the Desktop. Big miss for me. 3. [P2] No TaskManager to monitor performances
Keyboard management 1. [P0] I sometimes run into situations where the keyboard just goes bonkers, and doesn't "flush" all it's memory straight to the input. Let me explain, I would type "abc" but it wouldn't show on the input until I hit space, then "abcabc" is displayed. This varies by apps, or websites, and I'm not sure if it's the app/website/system/Microsoft Swiftkey's fault. But that's a big no-no when it happens. 2. [P2] A lot of keyboard shortcuts aren't available or don't work as expected in apps (app faults though).
By the way, Atl Gr + Shift allows to toggle Chinese to non Chinese keyboard in the native Honor keyboard, but I quickly switched to Microsoft Swiftkey, where it's Ctrl + Shift. Control + Arrow down will also let you navigate suggestions, especially useful with Mandarin characters.
Misc - [P1] Meetings Google Meets simply doesn't work in desktop mode. You end up running it on the phone window itself. - [P1] Screensharing on Chrome. I believe Android isn't supporting that yet... But imagine taking a call on Zoom or Google Meets on Chrome (Beta), the screenshare just doesn't work, and that sucks for your meeting! - [P2] Somehow, settings and Google Play aren't accessible on the Desktop mode. Well, you can somehow access them from special workflows, but that just feels like a bug more than a feature. Please unhide those shortcuts from the Menu :)

The fun section

Things I've tried to push the edges of this phone: - You can enjoy... Game emulators, on desktop mode, on a video projector with a PS4 controller. FPS really depends on the game though. - You can run some LLM locally, like a Q4 version of Mistral 7B via llama.cpp I had to locally compiled llama.cpp - You can also decide to run a fully fledged Linux (or some say Windows 10/11 arm version but I haven't found the right tutorial yet) then VNC into it. Thanks to Andronix - it's a few clicks and copy/paste. - I can adb from Termux to my phone using Wifi - I flashed another Android phone's ROM from Chrome Beta via a cable.

2024.02.17 17:37 placentophagy Fingerprint reader SUCKS

Is this a glitch??? My Huawei p30pro I had for FIVE YEARS and the fingerprint scanner worked brilliantly.
I've reset my biometrics multiple times now, etc. The scanner on the S24 Ultra is absolutely horrible and almost never correctly reads my print. Doesn't matter how my thumb is positioned in the circle, etc.
This is incredibly frustrating and I hope it's a glitch that will be fixed asap. I don't want to turn the biometrics off ....

2024.02.16 18:19 bobeo_menyeo My ~3 week experience with the S24 Ultra switching from a Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Hello,
I switched from my trusty Huawei Mate 20 Pro. My experience with the S24 Ultra so far:
I thought the pen would be useless, but I managed to use Canva during times I had to wait for things, or between sets while lifting. Also, it's great for TeamViewer. It's very useful when I'm not in my shop, but need to check/send some things. Also it was fun to make "reaction face stickers" with the lasso tool from my friends' and my own face from photos.
The camera is not bad, but I feel like it tries to use very low ISO + long shutter, it was a lot easier with the Mate 20 Pro to take crisp images, without the subject getting smudged. Any tips? The image post processing is insane, but sometimes it's hit or miss. I admit I have to get used to the camera, that 200, 50, 12 MP setting is not really straightforward.
Why do my photos shot in the FB Messenger app get processed though? I can literally see it get from crisp to blurry, it's like sime kind of beauty effect going on.
The video recording quality is great. Shooting a timelapse from a tripod barely drains the battery, and the result is great. Slow-mo recording is also great, and the stabilization is really good as well.
The battery life is amazing, being able to set it to only charge to 80% is a big plus, because I'm an overnight charger. I mainly made the switch because of this. Huawei wouldn't replace the battery without doing a factory reset, and all the hassle coming with that, I thought I might as well replace the phone.
The fingerprint sensor is better than on the Huawei too, I rarely have to breathe on my thumb to unlock the phone. But the face recognition is way worse. Maybe it's for security reasons, but I swear I'm not a shapeshifter.
The anti-glare Gorilla Armor screen is just wow. I'm curious how it'll be in the summer, but I have high hopes. The Mate 20 Pro was sometimes barely readable because of the glare, and comparatively dimmer screen.
The sound is great, and my fingers/the charger doesn't block the sound holes, so it's a lot better to watch some movies, or play some games.
The Bluetooth range is definitely better, because I can get to my bathroom and still play the music on the kitchen Hi-Fi. It's somehow a lot more compatible too, because a 2008 VW is able to connect for calls (not for music, etc.)
Android Auto came preinstalled, so no need to download and install the .apk, and pray an update during vacay time doesn't fudge it up. Woohoo!
The switching between available WiFi is atrocious. I have one router and two access point's and it like one of my APs so bad, it doesn't even want to switch when pages barely load with just one bar of signal, even though the router's signal is on max, and I'm 5 meters away from it... I checked the settings, and everything seems fine, I hope this gets some attention from the devs.
One thing I cannot get used to is when I open the all apps folder, and there is no A-Z 0-9 bar on the right to scroll to apps. I have to scroll sideways, and because I can't for my life recite the alphabet, finding that one rarely used app is a misery. Is it possible to add this somehow? Also, Huawei was showing the most recent 4-5 apps on the top, and this phone doesn't. That made switching between apps so much easier.
Well, that's all I can think of now. All in all I'm glad I made the switch, and I'd definitely recommend it.

2024.02.09 20:02 Joined4Help Desperately need help (Huawei)

I've got a Huawei P20 Pro that was working fine for months before all of a sudden it started to glitch when I went to turn it on (it would flash and turn back off). This would happen for a few minutes if I hadn't turned on the phone in 2+ hours. Everything else was working perfectly fine and the problem eventually went away by itself after like 3 weeks max so I thought nothing of it. After all this though, I started getting a notification about a new update and I was wary to do it so soon after all the glitchy business and so I'd been pressing the 'remind me later' option for a good 2/3 weeks before it popped up while I was pressing an app and the phone started updating even though I didn't want it to.
Eventually it loads back up but with a message that says 'your device has failed verification and may not work properly' (Refer to the 1st pic). After pressing the power button it took me to the eRecovery page (pic 3) which hasn't done anything so far. The 'update and recover' option won't work since it keeps saying 'get package info failed', emergency backup just keeps restarting the phone and I'd really not like to have to do a factory reset (I've got years of pictures and videos that I was planning to backup literally this weekend).
Some extra info that might narrow things down?
I'm a student and I don't really have a massive budget to buy a new phone right now so I'd really appreciate some help with this if anyone knows how to bring the phone back or at least get my data out of it.
Thank you!

2024.02.09 18:16 Secret_Assignment_17 Can't enter device after factory reset

The situation is just as the title says. I did a factory reset on my Huawei phone from 2-3 years ago recently except I don't remember the google account I used back then. Now, no matter how I try to go through the "forgot email" process, it still tells me that I have to use a email that was previously synced with the phone. How can I fix or bypass this issue?
I don't know what generation it was. All I know is the model is ANE-LX3 and it has dual lenses.
