Letters of Recommendation - Guidance Counselor (?/10): I didn't meet with him a lot so he doesn't know me too well, but it seemed like I stood out to him because of how well I always do. I never saw his LOR, so idk how good it was, but I'm sure it was good.
- AP Statistics Teacher (10/10): junior year teacher; I always had an A in his class but didn't talk much. He was kinda awkward so I avoided talking to him lol, but his LOR was actually really good. He said that he wanted his daughter to grow up to be like me!
- AP US History Teacher (8/10): junior year teacher; I always had an A in his class but never talked either. His LOR wasn't bad but he basically rewrote the resume I sent him
- Art Teacher (9/10): teacher during sophomore and senior years; she chose to enter one of my pieces in a local art show and I won an award. She kinda overhyped me but it was good nonetheless.
Interviews N/A
Essays I think I spent about a month on my essay, but I can't remember. I felt like my essay was pretty good, but I thought it might be controversial depending on the reader so I was a little nervous. I'm not that good of a writer, but I think the content made up for it. I basically talked about my experience growing up mixed race and how I won't let race define me. I thought it might be problematic because I said a black girl was being racist to me by mentioning how a black girl once told me I only got straight A's because I was "white" and that I realized that some people use race as an excuse for their failures. I said that I thought it was sad she was raised to think that way and ended by saying I wouldn't let my race dictate what I should like or how I should behave and that I would decide for myself rather than following others.
Decisions (indicate ED/EA/REA/SCEA/RD) Acceptances: - Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech)!!! (EA) - Presidential Scholarship Initiative Recipient (approx. $17,000 per year to cover rest of tuition and room and board)
- Virginia Commonwealth University (EA) - Virginia Merit Award Recipient ($4,000 per year)
- Longwood University (EA) - Presidential Scholarship Recipient ($8,000 per year)
Waitlists: Rejections: - University of Southern California (ED through QuestBridge)
Additional Information: Let me just start by saying that I'm extremely grateful for how things have worked out for me. I feel so lucky and fortunate to be in the situation I am. I know I had my GPA and low income going for me, but I got so much more than I ever expected and I still can't believe this is actually happening!! QuestBridge didn't work out, but I still ended up getting what I was looking for: a way to go to college without taking out loans.
So to explain me being able to "go to Virginia Tech for Free," I have multiple sources that are paying for my first year; I didn't just get a full ride from VT (although it basically is when combined with everything else). I got about $15,500 in govt. grants, the scholarship from VT to cover the rest of tuition and room and board which is about $17,000 this year, and $12,000 in outside scholarships. And that's way over the COA, so I don't have to worry about paying anything!! Now I can follow my dreams of being an animator at my dream school without worrying about how to pay for it!!!

2024.05.29 00:22 zesty-lemonsan Looking for fanless and ventless laptop, no budget
LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE - Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
$5000 but willing to go over that if needed.
- Are you open to refurbs/used?
No
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
Good performance is most important. Build quality is always nice. Would prefer if it was not a 2-in-1 as I would not use the features.
- How important is weight and thinness to you?
I don't care.
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. I will likely plug it into a bigger monitor, so not very important.
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
Adobe programs (Photoshop, Premier), FL Studio. For gaming it's less important as I can always go to cloud gaming (BG3), but as long as it can handle light gaming off cloud (e.g: phone games emulated on Bluestacks) that would be cool.
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
1080p probably. 4k is really not needed. For games, see above^
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
It needs to be fanless and ventless, and run Windows natively.
Thank you!

not required. All packages: - ...install silently and don't place desktop shortcuts

Download
Primary:
Download the torrent.
Secondary: Download the self-extracting archive from one of the repos:
Tertiary: (source code)
The Github page contains all scripts and wrapper files used in the pack. Check it out if you want to see the code without downloading the full binary pack, or just steal them for your own use. Note that downloading from Github directly won't work - you need either this provided pack or go manually fetch all the binaries yourself in order to just plug them in and start working.

- Wireshark v4.2.5 ! -- NEW
Utilities:
Instructions
- Import all .xml files from the \job files directory into PDQ deploy (it should look roughly like this after you've imported them).
- Copy all files from the \repository directory to wherever your repository is.
- All jobs reference PDQ's $(Repository) variable, so make sure it's set in preferences.
Package Notes
- Read the notes in the PDQ interface for each package, they explain what that installer does. Basically, most packages use a .bat file to accomplish multi-step installs with the free version of PDQ. You can edit the batch files to see what they do; most just delete "All Users" desktop shortcuts and things like that. changelog-v##-updated-.txt has version and release history.
- Thunderbird:
- Thunderbird is configured to use a global config file stored on a network share. This allows for settings changes en masse. By default it's set to check for config updates every 120 minutes.
- You can change the config location, update frequency, OR disable this behavior entirely by editing thunderbird-custom-settings.js.
- A copy of the config file is in the Thunderbird directory and is called thunderbird-global-settings.js
- If you don't want any customizations, just edit Thunderbird's .bat file and comment out or delete all the lines mentioning the custom config files.
Integrity
The file \integrity verification\checksums.txt is signed with my PGP key (0x07d1490f82a211a2, pubkey included). You can use this to verify package integrity.
If you find a bug or glitch, PM me or post it here. Advice and comments are welcome and appreciated.

2024.05.28 16:18 floribbdemachi Desperately needing HELP and opinions!
| Hello everyone! First time posting here. Really I have never encounter a major difficulty when facing a project, until this particular project I'm going to describe. A client contacted me to translate a planner from Spanish to Italian, French and English. I thought that it wouldn't be too difficult so I accepted. Turns out, my client doesn't have the editable files for this planner, not even an Illustrator file, only the PDF. I quickly started searching for options to do word replacing efficiently, and I tried a few options that don't work the best. Bear in mind that this planner has 485 pages. Adobe Acrobat doesn't let me replace the same word for another throughout the pdf file, only in the present page. So that would mean that I had to replace every word one by one, in 485 pages, in 3 languages, and that would take me forever. FoxIt reader does the job at replacing every word at once, but moves them out of place, messing up the entire design. I cannot find a way to set the size of the font to prevent this from happening. I also tried DeepL to try and save some time, but again it messes up the design, and even makes some elements disappear (like calendars). Below is an example of how the design gets out of place (and you can also see how many elements there are). I also cannot find an option that allows me to move something once and that it gets repeated in the rest of the pages (like a Master Page in InDesign) I want to make clear that my issue is not the translation itself, given that I speak the mentioned 4 languages perfectly. I want to find a software or option that lets me replace words throughout the document, and not ruin the design. I tried to also asking this question in translation but apparently only approved users can do so. Thank you in advance for any ideas! https://preview.redd.it/blddh59lc63d1.png?width=1980&format=png&auto=webp&s=9ec1a3f4d365494aea1c66759719df283403b337 submitted by floribbdemachi to graphic_design [link] [comments] |

AUD$3000 (based in australia)

- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
performance - preferably anything that won't die on me when doing rendering assignments
- How important is weight and thinness to you? not important
- Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. n/a
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
adobe photoshop ; adobe indesign ; sketchup; autocad ; revit ; microsoft office (word/excel/outlook)

- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
i bought an imac last year (see photo for specs) and i am hoping to somehow utilise that when i'm at home, while getting a windows laptop for use in class. i am well aware that apple products might not be ideal for design software, but do you think my desktop can handle those applications? if not, i'm willing to spend a bit more to avoid any issues. but of course, if i could save some money it would be great.
i have looked into some laptops, any thoughts on these?
- MSI prestige 16 Studio A13V 16' 32GB RAM RTX4060 Creator Laptop
- MSI Creator Z16 HX Studio A13V 16" QHD + i9 64GB RAM 2TB RTX4070 Laptop (a bit out of budget but would consider if my imac is not
no particular brand preferences so feel free to leave your suggestions below!
thanks a bunch!

2024.05.28 06:15 TheLifeBoBoBoBoBo Looking for a 750$ max laptop for casual gaming and college as a digital arts student
- Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase: Purchasing in the United States. Maximum $750 dollars, though 700$ or less very much preferred. Lower the better
- Are you open to refurbs/used? Not Open to refurbished or used
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?
- The longer the battery life the better as I'll likely be using it throughout long days at school, though I don't NEED it to be anything extraordinary.
- Not interested in a 2-in-1, touch screen (though not against it per say), or anything like that.
- Obviously not interested in poor or cheap quality but I don't need anything too fancy either
- 32 Gigs of Memory, a terabyte (or more) of storage, and a GPU or IGPU strong enough to play the games in the games section
- How important is weight and thinness to you? I need it to be portable enough that I can comfortably carry it to, from, and around school and use it comfortably in bed. Aside from that, weight and thinness isn't that important.
- Do you have a preferred screen size? 15.6" Display or higher preferred. As long as its not too big to be comfortably portable and not stick out I don't mind a bigger screen.
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing? I plan on using the laptop as a digital arts major, so running Creative Cloud Programs (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc) is a must. Probably not mentioning cause I think this could run on anything, but I also need it to run Krita.
- At what settings and FPS do you want? 120hz or higher, though I would be happy with 60hz if it meant a substantially longer battery life and lower cost. Happy with medium settings, though for more intense games I'm happy with lowering the settings and for less intense games I'd prefer the highest settings.
- Are you doing any gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run:
- Note: I've never owned a laptop before, and also don't know much about computer parts and what laptops in this range could play, so I'll split the following list into two halves with one half being games I want to play, and games that aren't a priority but would be very welcome if possible. I don't know much about laptops, so who knows, maybe all of them will be playable or maybe most of them won't, that's where I hope you can help! Thanks, and sorry :(
- I'd like to play: Most Valve Games, Celeste, Hades, Geometry Dash, Hollow Knight, Peggle, People Playground, Terraria (Almost all modded if possible)
- If Possible: Halo MCC, Black Ops 3 (Modded), PS1-PS2-PS3 and GameCube-Wii Emulators
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? A good quality keyboard and touchpad that will last me at least 4 years, and preferably an SD card reader but thats optional
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. TLDR: Looking for a 120hz, 32 Gig Memory, 1 Terabyte $750, preferably $700 or less, laptop able to play older and indie titles (with exceptions like Black Ops 3 and Halo MCC) with a long lasting battery capable of running Creative Cloud programs for a digital arts student
Thanks so much, sorry for my inexperience with this!
These are some laptops I'm looking at, but they all have pro's and con's, help would be appreciated between deciding amongst these and choosing a completely new option (Sorted by most to least expensive):

2024.05.28 05:59 cauamachado Integrated Dynamics, How do I combine an item list variable with an active redstone variable?
ENGLISH --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I combine an item list variable with an active redstone variable?
context: I want coal to only be used "in the steam engine" of create when my manufacturer (Refined Storage) of the grinding and lava washing wheel is making an item, sending a redstone signal to the integrated dynamics reader via wifi create and activate the exporter for the signal time, to save coal.
edit, more context: I need to take coal from an inventory with several items and put it in the deployer so he can click on the blaze burner. the variability of integrated dynamics fascinates me, plus it is extremely cheap compared to pipez (advanced upgrade, for filter), I want to learn how to do it.
PORTUGUESE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2024.05.28 03:01 lyfieo do i get marked down for this/am i cooked for eng lang
so i did a series of things that im now questioning whether it was fine
q3 - i wrote like 5/6 mini paragraphs each focusing on the focus and how it engages the readers, a lot of stuff was like "it intrigues the reader into finding out how mary may survive in the deadly heat" - is this fine? i was never good at structural analysis so i really on the focus changing and how it peaks the readers interests and why they want to keep reading
q4 - i wrote 2 paras (they were massive tho, managed to use all the space and a little more), but i didnt really evaluate the other side iykwim. like for example i agreed dicks anger was unfair but disagreed saying mary was more powerful. but i didnt say like another way to interpret this is that his anger is faimary is powerless because of blah, but my interpretation is stronger bc of blah. also i didnt refer to a lot of methods, a lot of "this adjective" or sometimes "the word" if i wasnt 100% sure - can i still reach top bands? (side note less important i also analysed mary and dicks name - is this credit worthy 😭)
q5 - my disagreement was not necessarily a main focus, and i feel like an examiner would notice that i kind of purposefully had that disagreement to fit the prompt. did it have to be a main focus? also, i realised midway through a para that i wanted to add a short sentence para but i forgot. so at the end w/ extra paper, i drew a star on the line and wrote my one line sentence and i think i made a mark saying to leave 2 spaces. is this fine?
id appreciate any answers at all bc ive been stressing about this for days now lmao

Les dejo unas fotos. submitted by don_pablio to eink [link] [comments] |

2024.05.27 12:42 Jaime240_ Undecided Purchase F6, RN13Pro, X6 Pro
Hey everybody! I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro (the best phone I have ever had so far), and the screen is dying.
I have a budget of around 250–300 euros. I use the phone to play normal games (nothing like CoD or similar), videos, social media, etc. And I also like to take pictures, but it isn't my highest priority (if the new phone takes better than the RN8Pro, I will be satisfied). I was thinking about the RN13Pro or the X6 Pro, but now the F6 has arrived. With some discounts, I have the F6 (12+512) for 325€, which is a great price. However, the RN13Pro is about 270€, and I heard that the camera is better, but for almost everything else, the F6 wins (for 55€ more). I have heard some bad comments about the X6 Pro, and I am thinking that any of the two adobe will be better for me. I would like to have a physical fingerprint reader or jack 3.5mm, but with the new phones, it is what it is.
I also have doubts with F5 but I don't know so much about this phone.
Anyone with some experience in this field can give me advice. The early bird sale ends this Friday, and I don't know what to do: wait until my phone dies or buy the F6 because, for the price, it's the best I'll find in a few months.
