AITA for respecting my late wife’s wishes about keeping her family out?

My wife unfortunately passed away last year when our daughter was only 3 months old. It was very difficult to get through but my little girl and I are keeping it together.
My daughter is 16 months now and there’s been pressure from my wife’s sister to let her side of the family see my daughter.
The issue is my wife had absolutely no contact with her family since she was 18, so 16 years of not seeing them. Her home life was something she never wanted to talk about.
It always made her upset so I never pushed her to tell me. All I know is they were manipulative and abusive in some form. She left as soon as she was 18, changed her last name and never spoke to them again.
4 years ago she got into contact with her older sister and she’s the only person my wife allowed into our lives. By that I mean we met through video chat but never actually in person.
We still maintained contact after my wife passed and we met a couple times before and during my wife’s funeral. My sister-in-law called me a few weeks ago. She mentioned her parents would really like to meet their granddaughter and want to start over.
They didn’t attend my wife’s funeral because they knew she wouldn’t want them to be there.
One thing my wife always made clear is that she did not want them near our daughter. Ever.
Telling my SIL this...well she got very upset. She said it’s been years and yes her parents were awful people (again won’t say exactly what they did) but losing their daughter has made them reflect on things. And they want to meet my daughter since my wife never gave them that chance.
She’s still trying to convince me and so far I’ve said no. Each time I just feel more and more bad for denying them but it’s what my wife wanted.
Her parents found my Facebook (pretty sure SIL might’ve told them) and I’ve gotten dozens of messages begging me to let my daughter know her moms side of the family. And I shouldn’t keep her from knowing her grandparents for past mistakes.
None of them will leave me alone and SIL has said a few times that I may be grieving losing a wife but to have some empathy for them losing a child. Because right now I’m being “too heartless” for denying them the chance to meet the only piece of my wife they have left.
I’m at my wits end with this because I’m not sure if I am being an asshole or not. I don’t know the whole reason why my wife never wanted to see them again. Even if I did though, I’d still like to honor her wish.
The way they are being however, makes it hard not to wonder if I am?

NTA. Do not let them have anything to do with your daughter. The last thing you want is to allow them to have a relationship with your daughter and then after a while you see exactly why your wife didn't want anything to do with them, because depending where you live if they have an established relationship with your daughter they can go for grandparents rights, as of right now they have no grounds. Cut the sil off to she's just giving you a taste of how toxic the rest of your wife's family are. Protect your child.

And do not believe the parents crap that they are grieving the loss of their child. They abused her and lost her completely 16 years ago. They deserve nothing.
The fact neither your wife or her sister can even indicate in even a vague or more generalised way the abuse that occurred, means it was truly horrendous.
Tell your SIL this is a permanent and hard no, and if she cannot accept and respect that fully (which means providing no information to her parents), then she cannot have contact with your child either. You need to be very very careful with her even if it appears she's going along with this. You'll likely need to cut her off too anyway, as she's already shown she's on their side.

Thank you everyone for all the lovely comments and support. I was really worn down with this whole ordeal so all your input was so very appreciated . There was a lot of you that expressed your concerns about what my wife’s family’s intentions were and warned me about taking precautions to keep my daughter safe. I have taken these into consideration and have made steps to ensure they have no access to any information that could disclose our location.
And yes in the end I did decide it was best to cut off all contact, not only with my wife’s parents but her sister too. I tried to get through to her many times about why I’d like to to respect my wife’s call on this since she knew her family best and what they did. Despite all the reassurance that her parents have changed she’s still refused do actually say what went down so that was not at all convincing for me.
Once I blocked them all I was getting calls from different numbers the following days. I sent one final message to her sister stating they’re never allowed near me or my daughter and if they ever tried to come harass us I will get authorities involved. Since then it was radio silence for the last couple weeks but I decided to play it safe a few days ago and changed my phone number.
I’ve also deleted my Facebook since I don’t use it that often but have put my other social media accounts on private. Got many great suggestions from many of you about how to make sure they have absolutely no access to my daughter so I really appreciate that! I’ve saved a few of these comments incase I need some extra tips in the future as my daughter gets older and starts school.
Since I last posted and have cut contact I feel like I can finally breathe. You have no idea how stressful and draining the whole thing was for me so really, thank you all for the help! I’ve been more at peace putting this all behind me and focusing on my beautiful little girl. Just wanted to leave this update since I know there was a lot of concern about how this would all play out.

I remember reading your original post and am happy to hear that you worked it out!
Based on the way your SIL was deflecting the question of what happened I think the reason why your late wife went NC (and why she never told you) would absolutely justify keeping your child away from them. The possibilities are endless but all progressively worse. If you know if the authorities were involved or other people in your late wife's life that would have an idea, it might be worth it to look into it/get a PI just so you have that peace of mind.
Regardless, you made the right decision and best wishes!!!

I was diagnosed at 20 months old back in 1989, been here since early on. I'm not super depressed, just really numb. Yes tried meds and counseling, still trying. I used to think it would be awesome to be 'that guy' who made diabetes seem ok. I wanted so much to help others. Went to camp, volunteered at camp multiple years. I wanted to be the success story to show others what can be accomplished. But now in my 30s my body is breaking down and I don't know where I went wrong. Seems like dopamine decided to take a break for me. I even went on multiple week long canoe trips only to need rescue on my third one because my pump cracked and let water in. I was humiliated because I was hundreds of miles from the nearest hospital. My fellows were remarkable and found a way, but it's not the only time I "adventured with problems". Needed rescue when winter camping with my uncle because my Lantus froze. The only place that hasn't tried to kill me was the desert SW USA. Just had water issues lol. I (27f) and my husband (32m) have been married 2 years. I generally work in an office all 5 days of the week while he works from home. I called in sick today after spending the better part of the night sick in the bathroom but felt well enough by afternoon to get some chores done. I ended up doing a couple days worth of cooking, cleaning the kitchen, and tidying the place with hubby coming out periodically to talk or spend some time with me. I usually have no time or energy for this stuff on the days im working so I wanted to get everything out of the way while I had time and energy.
After hubby was done with work, I gave him some small tasks on his insistence and after he was done with them, he said he was tired and asked if he can play games, which I was fine with. He played for a while and then started complaining that he feels anxious because I’m doing so much work and he’s not helping. I told him I can give him tasks but he had said earlier that he’s tired and it’s fine, I don’t need help. He then kept repeating that he felt anxious and repeatedly asking if I’m done yet, even after I gave him a time I would be done by. I asked if he’d like to help me with one thing, and gave him a simple task (putting away the grinder with the washed parts) to do when he said yes, mainly so he would stop pestering me about feeling anxious or asking me when I’ll be done. He continues playing his game for another hour and continues asking if I’m done yet but hasn’t moved at all to do the task I asked him to do. I finally lost my cool and went off on him about constantly pressuring me to be done with the chores while doing absolutely nothing to help despite offering to help. He got all upset that I reacted angrily to him feeling bad and anxious instead of being understanding. From my pov, I was understanding for the entire evening and only lost my cool after he kept repeatedly asking if I’m done yet and that he feels anxious but doing absolutely nothing to change that feeling or helping me finish chores faster. Am I TA for losing my cool? Some advice would be good too.
Edit: a couple things to note: - this is not a one time thing, he does this constantly when I’m doing chores, repeatedly telling me he feels anxious that I’m doing them alone and offering to help but then not doing the things I asked him to do. I will ask him a few times and end up doing them myself.

he does other chores and until the last few months, did a large chunk of the household chores, which is why I don’t mind taking a large share of them right now. He supported me when I needed it and I’m supporting him now when he needs it. But when he was doing a large chunk of them, I didn’t constantly pester him about when he will be done, or offer to help and then didn’t actually help.

On 27 May 2024, my friend received a call claiming to be TRAI telling him that a phone number (given below) is registered under his name and is making threats calls and messages to others in Mumbai and a FIR was issued against that number. I wasn't there with my friend that time so I can't tell in entire detail what exactly happened.

Number they claimed was under his name: 9839768051
Phone numbers claiming to be TRAI: 9458959065 and 9846857903

My friend immediately cut the call but after sometime, they called again in another number (not sure which, he didn't tell me that). So he listened. They told him that they will give a phone number (for whatsapp) to contact the Mumbai police and give them a video call on whatsapp. My friend immediately gave them a call on whatsapp and it lasted for around 6-9 mins, he said.

Video Call

He said that someone with actual police uniform with his cap was there in video call and the background did look like a police station. But he later stated that he could only see a wall behind with a gandhiji's photo (or could be a poster) on the wall with him on the table. I think this was very possibly faked as the video only showed a wall and never outside and the police uniform could be a costume or stolen (...doubt with this...), based on what he said. But my friend wasn't paying attention like that as he was tensed about this and legit thought it was real.
Unfortunately he didn't take a screenshot as it didn't occur to his mind at that time.
Not sure about what exactly happened in video call but my friend told me that they asked for his full name and Aadhaar number (<- possible risk?). They told him that they will email them the copy of the FIR issued and TRAI would also email them for updates and help (I am not sure what exactly they said, as my friend somewhat forgot as he was tense and busy resolving this issue). So he gave them his email address to them, yes to the fraud claiming police officer.
Note: They never asked for bank details, OTPs, PAN number or any personal details except full name, Aadhaar number and email. So my friend completely believed it not being a fraud.

Afterwards

The next day (28 May 2024), he told me all the above I just said. I even asked for all the numbers he received calls from suspecting it to be a fraud. I searched the internet and a found similar cases:

So after I showed him these links, he immediately tried calling them back to confront or ask if this is real or not. The numbers did not work anymore. And the email they told about, they never sent. So we assumed it a fraud. I suggested he email directly to real TRAI from their official email from website, which he did. No response from him yet.

People. Seriously? The # of posts the mod team have to remove because they break the FIRST rule are insane lately. Me 18M and my dad have had a very close relationship prior to this incident, now he won't let me live under the same roof as him.

She and my dad hit it off well for a whole 2 months, but I started to realize that I wanted her more than my dad, as those hints she sent my way sparked something inside of me. Later I framed my dad, to convince her that he was cheating on her, which stopped her from visiting us anymore.
I Dreamed day in and day out about her delicious scrimption ass then once my time came I struck. She was sitting home alone, as I stared through her window something rose. Friends i do have, close friends, none. Deeply insecure. Girls i talk to, even if they like me, I’m always somehow sure they would hate the real me.
Living with 4 sisters, 2 of them have stopped talking to me, the rest, still complains that i am a terrible person (for not doing the dishes, even though i do most of the days).
Is it actually me who is terrible, or is it just my family that never has time to listen to me, or my dad that i despise for being abusive?
Either way, I feel like I’m a decent guy trying his best to be whatever expectations that has been dumped on me and yet, ive never feel like ive made anyone proud.
I turned to weed and cigarettes, to me, theyre the only thing that helps me be happy. Ive tried spending time with my family but all they seem to talk about is how terrible i am and how i should change.
They compare me to their boyfriends, to other people. My mind is filled with despair but even if i find the courage to say all that to them, it only makes it worse and i get called out for wanting to be pitied.
Only thing i do and can do in this situation has always been to sit alone and think about life. Sometimes I’m able to get a positive mindset to be better but sometimes.. i get back on the drugs and waste away.
Ive been called a manipulator, psycho, narcissist etc. but i never intended to manipulate anyone. am i a narcissist, a psycho as they say? I will never know.
Lately i have stopped talking to anyone about my mental health and instead focused on gaming. Does it help? no, but it distracts me from the reality i hate.
I have always sticked to my morals, all the abuse my dad has on us, I have tried to not replicate. No matter the situation i always tend to stay calm but it adds up and ends up sending me down a deep hole that takes forever to climb back up.
I have a dream tho, once i get a job and move out. Get my own place and then end my life, cause i really don’t enjoy my time here. I don’t want to burden anyone so, ive made the decision to wait at least until I’m independent.
Life is beautiful, people are amazing. Friends that i do have always comes around when i really need a friend. I don’t want me that has my dad’s genes making this beautiful world any worse, I’m gonna end my lineage and do something good for the world.
But I’m not a saint, i have my own selfish reasons for wanting to alt+f4 my life, I’m losing hair, I’m ugly af (the exception to rest of my family), really short for a guy (kevin hart’s height). And i know i wont be able to lead a happy life with my dumbass self. I didnt win the genes lottery, in a game where I’m sure i’ll lose and end up miserable.

I never tried to make an op build before like bloodied builds. But I guess I still have one, that is probably shit cuz I can't do events at all solo. But I want to know what kinda mangled mess my character is considered. I don't know what else to call it other than, kinda a mutant build. My main focus in making my character was to survive and deal as much damage as possible. But without power armor.
I will list my gear and perks. I want to know what what people think and maybe learn to get a better Idea to get more out of it.
My special is currently:S.9 P.15 E.11 C.3 I.5 A.10 L.9
For strength I have:
1 traveling pharmacy to carry over 100 stimpacks
1 expert gladiator to boost my melees
2 bandolier to never run out of ammo
2 martial arts to boost melee
3 arms keeper to carry 7 rifles
For perception:
3 rifleman for damage
3 expert rifle for even more damage
3 master rifle for even more, more damage
3 tank killer to ignore power armor
3 concentrated fire for bonus damage and because I like vats once in awhile
Endurance:
5 ironclad to survive
2 adamntium Skelton to ignore broken bones
1 cannibal to ignore hungar
3 fire proof to ignore explosive damage
Charisma: I don't really care for this stat but I currently have 3 hard bargain( I'm a solo player and never use lone wanderer though I don't think I need it) only for meat weak though. I mainly use 2 field surgeon with 2 on charisma. I don't know where to put that one free point though.
Intelligence:
3 first aid to spam stimpack through heavy damage
2 gunsmith so I don't have to look for gun benches as often
Agility:
3 evasive for survival
3 action boy to make sure I have ap when I want it
2 white knight so I don't need armor benches as much
2 Goat legs to ignore cliffs
Luck:
2 scrounger to always have ammo
2 pharma farma to always have stimpacks
3 lucky break to keep my armor always with some durability
2 class freak to ignore all the negatives to my long list of mutations that Is still growing
As for legendary perks:
2 what's rad so I don't lose my precious mutations
3 perception for rifle man perks
3 agility for action boy
I'm only 127 so thats it for now.
In events I can survive just about anything but can't lay down much damage. But I'm fine with that. With all the automatics targeting the biggest targets, I can take out the little mobs that are just there to annoy, and I can annoy the big targets and keep their attention on me.
Now for the mutations:
Speed demon 😈 to move faster
Bird bone 🐦 this one I heard went nicely with marsupial 🦵. I can live with out this but I need all the mutations I can get. I hope I never develop vegetarian by accident.
Carnivore 🍖 to ignore hunger
Chameleon 🦎 useless as hell but hey gotta get them mutations
Electricly charge ⛈️ this one was random but welcomed
X factor I mean Healing factor to use less stimpacks
Plague walker was random, usless but sure why not
Scaly skin 🪨 for even more survivability
Unstable isotope random but hell yess
Ok now for my guns and armor after: if anyone read this far you can skip over most of this. I never seek out specific legendaries but I ended up with alot of good ones.
RIFLES:
RAILWAY RIFLE *** I got lucky with this random roll through legendary modules
Mutant's which hell yea. Rapid, not sure what it does. Steadfast. usefully. Standard reciever.
WESTERN SPIRIT***
FURIOUS. HITMAN'S. SWIFT. fierce reciever to ignore reloading this gun.
THE FIXER*** boring I hardly use it. Two shot. Last shot. Steadfast.
GAUSS RIFLE*** does alot of damage but to slow Zealot. Rapid. Ghost. All stock.
HANDMADE *** I think I bought his one from a player vendor. Berserker useless. Basher is meh, but I got the bayonet anyways. V.A.T.S. OPTIMAIZE this gun stills chew through my ap faster than any of my other guns. Hardened reciever.
SLUG BUSTER*** the holy grail of finds for me. It got anti armor, vital and weightless. I don't have to mod this gun. It came with exactly with what I would have slapped on there. Refined beta wave tuner, aligned sniper barrel, aligned stock, and medium NV scope. It's beatifull. And It can slap power armor players.
TESLA RIFLE*** I just love using this gun. Suppressor I'm sure helps. V.A.T.S. enhanced means I don't miss a shot. Durability which im very happy to have. It got the charging barrel but I might change it back to stock for dps over raw damage.
These are my primary guns but on the side I have other weapons for smaller fights or just cuz I'm bored.
Melee:
BLUE RIDGE BRANDING IRON*** I feel so lucky to have found this.
Instigating is kinda useful. Melee speed with 2 martial arts is intense. Strength is there.
REVOLUTIONARY SWORD*** this one I got martial arts for but then I ended up with the branding iron.
Assassin, can't complain. Melee speed yep. Cavalier is there.
Now for for the one I use for fun.
Thirst zapper, just a water gun 🔫

And the fatman daisycutter*
It has weightless, I think I found alot of these but I dont where from. This one also have the MIRV launcher.
Ok now for armor:
I wear marine wetsuits underneath to be protected from water born diseases. It has resistance lining.
My backpack to carry more. 60+. No mods.
Secret service chest*** I made one and I love it.
Chameleon so now I can pretend my mutation works. Agility for which I hope evasive take account of. Frozen mixed with my other mutation that activate on Melee contact makes for a crazy time 🤪. Buttress of course. With jetpack cuz duh.
Secret service left leg*** I consider myself lucky. Only made 3 for this one.
Regenerator. Luck. Divers. It's just a beautiful list to me. Buttress obviously. Gunning for pocketed mods by the way but I'll see what is available before I but any mods.

Unyielding again also hoping evasive takes into account. Intelligence is there. Reduced weapon weight is nice.
And for the last two are random garbage with life saver effect to survive more but that was before the mutations and and jetpack.
Finally that's it.......so besides being fun to play as a immortal muatated super freak that explodes in many ways on contact. What should I call this uh "build".

Ok so I have made the electromagnet at home, and it works, but the problem is, I always need open or close the switch to deactivate it. I need a way to make it deactivate after like 2 second intervals and then activate again, something like that. I have an Arduino Uno and a relay, i think it should be possible with both of them, I just need to figure out the wirings in the different slots and the code.
If anyone can help me out, it would mean a ton.

so i tried to make a new instagram account for my OOTDs n what not with a brand new email, i got the PERFECT username (no numbers no . or _ it was perfect) and as soon as i try to log in to the account for the first time its immediately permanently disabled for violating terms and i can't use the username or email to make another account as now it says the username is taken but also says there's no accounts under the username? if i try to make a new account with the email it says i already have an account but then i can't log in because its permanently disabled? There's absolutely no help at all on the meta website and no way to contact for help so now im just stuck :(
