Tired of trying

2024.05.16 02:10 kunderaandme Tired of trying

I´m just tired of trying to build friendship. It seems like no one cares about me … or they don’t care as much as I do. I’m lonely. I tried … and it doesn’t work .., either ppl are too busy with their life or Î’m just not someone anyone really wants as a friend . I’m always the one reaching out… always the one making plan , organize stuff … but It seems it doesn’t work for me . I don’t see the point of my life if I’m just by myself . I do have a good job that I love and I my boss tells me that I do so much for my students and Ive heard from other teachers that students like me … or at least couple of it .. and right now it’s probably the only thing that keep me going . And as much as I like my collegues … I know that they don’t want to hang out on the weekend . They have their family , kids , spouse.. there’s a group of teachers who don’t have kids and do things together on weeknight and weekends and as much as I tried to include myself in this particular group… they want nothing to do with me and they made it clear … ( they can be really mean and I didn’t heard any bad comments but when I’m with them, I feel that they don’t like me… making passive aggressive comments on what I say , excluding me from group chat… and I came to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter what I do , I’m not cool enough for them …). I don’t have kids ( and I don’t want any, and my age as a women will soon make this impossible anyway ), I don’t have a partner ( got dumped because I got really Sick for about 6 mo… it’s now under control ). I tried app to meet a partner but … let’s put it Franky it’s horrible out there . I use to have a social connexion when I was at uni but now … life happened … and there gone. I managed to have kept one friend … but i see her rarely... And I one was sobbing about the fact that I was lonely and she told me that she wished she could be there for me but she can’t and that I need to find a friend that could be there for me but that she won’t be this friend … she also have 2 kids so whenever I want to see her, I have to go to her place … but she won’t … and lately I realized that I’m the one reaching out and she will respond but she never really ask about how I feel … I tried meeting new friends with app also… but they all fizzled out. One friend I thought I could count on ( she visited me at the hospital )… well she twice cancelled because she had an family emergency … I was supposed to see her in Tuesday .. I wrote her back that I was sorry for her emergency … that if she wants to talk that she can phone me and that we could do something else another day… she didnt even texted me back … ( I know she saw my message )… and Im sad about it . And I’m tired … it’s not a friend if she can’t text back …. Or even just a heart on my message … so anyway … I just came to the conclusion that I’m lonely and even if I really tried to put myself out there it just doesn’t work … I can’t make friends ... and frankly I don’t really want to continue living if I’m just being Al by my self . What’s the point of living if you can’t share anything with other human being ? Maybe if I had kid I could say that I have to keep living for them but I don’t . I don’t have any reason to be alive other that I don’t want to hurt my family ( im not close with them but my dad did die by suicide when I was 13 so I know what killing yourself will arm people around you ) and also I’m too afraid of hurting my self. ( or even worse, don’t complete it and being worse off with an handicapp for the rest of my life, or being a vegetable …) so it’s more that I wish to be dead but won’t take action on it… but I don’t know how long I can endure that … I can’t find any solution to my loneliness problem and believe me … I try almost everything ( seeing a therapist, taking differents class (pottery, online class, horse riding, paddle board, kayak, yoga, swimming class ) , volluntering, taking a class at university , reach out to people to try to make plan , going on app to find a friend, being part of Facebook group to make friend, going to meet up in my city , adopting a pet, talk to neighbor, being present to every social activity at my school , finding hobby that I can do alone , go swimming to help my anxiety, invite ppl over , go to boardgame event ,…) I don’t know what to do anymore . How can I handle my loneliness. I just want it to stop hurting so much .

Summer Camps For Kids
Title: "Exploring the Benefits and Excitement of Summer Camps for Kids"
Introduction:
Summer camps hold a special place in the hearts of many children and parents alike. These retreats offer a unique blend of adventure, learning, and socialization, creating memories that last a lifetime. In this article, we'll delve into the world of summer camps for kids, exploring their benefits, popular activities, and tips for choosing the right camp for your child.
Benefits of Summer Camps:
  1. Outdoor Exploration: Summer camps often take place in natural settings, providing children with opportunities to explore the great outdoors. Whether it's hiking through forests, swimming in lakes, or roasting marshmallows around a campfire, these experiences foster a deep appreciation for nature and encourage physical activity.
  2. Seasonal social Development: Camps bring together children from diverse backgrounds, allowing them to form new friendships and develop important social skills. Through teamwork, cooperation, and shared experiences, campers learn to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and build confidence in their interactions with others.
  3. Personal Growth: Away from the familiar comforts of home, children have the chance to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges. From trying out new sports and creative arts to conquering fears through outdoor adventures, summer camps empower kids to discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and build resilience.
  4. Skill Building: Many camps offer specialised programs focused on developing specific skills or interests, such as music, theatre, sports, or STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). These immersive experiences allow children to hone their talents, explore new passions, and gain valuable knowledge in a supportive environment.
Popular Activities at Summer Camps:
  1. Sports and Recreation: From soccer and basketball to swimming and rock climbing, sports activities are a staple of many summer camps. These activities not only promote physical fitness but also teach valuable lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.
  2. Arts and Crafts: Creative arts and crafts workshops allow campers to unleash their imagination and express themselves through painting, drawing, pottery, and other artistic endeavors. These hands-on activities foster creativity, fine motor skills, and a sense of pride in one's work.
  3. Adventure and Outdoor Skills: Whether it's navigating a ropes course, learning to build a fire, or embarking on a wilderness hike, adventure-based activities challenge campers to push their limits, develop problem-solving skills, and connect with nature in meaningful ways.
  4. STEM Exploration: Camps focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics offer interactive workshops, experiments, and projects that spark curiosity and foster a love for learning. From robotics and coding to astronomy and environmental science, these programs inspire campers to explore the wonders of the world around them.
Tips for Choosing the Right Camp:
  1. Consider Your Child's Interests: Look for a camp that aligns with your child's passions and preferences, whether it's sports, arts, nature, or academics.
  2. Research Camp Options: Explore different types of camps, read reviews, and reach out to camp organizers to learn more about their programs, facilities, and staff qualifications.
  3. Evaluate Safety Measures: Prioritize camps that prioritize the safety and well-being of campers, with trained staff, proper supervision, and emergency protocols in place.
  4. Involve Your Child in the Decision: Discuss camp options with your child and involve them in the decision-making process to ensure they feel excited and invested in the experience.
Conclusion:
Summer camps offer children a world of adventure, learning, and friendship, providing valuable opportunities for personal growth and exploration. Whether it's mastering new skills, making lifelong memories, or simply enjoying the joys of childhood in the great outdoors, the benefits of summer camps are boundless. 2024.05.11 01:25 Moniku I don’t think my friends like me anymore..

Sorry if this is a long post, I feel as though I have no one to talk about this to. I (25F) have 2 friends (25F & 24F) who we’ll call Lucy and Hannah. I have always found it really really difficult to form friendships with other women so I don’t know if this is normal or not but here we go.
I first met Lucy when we started working at the same company together. We worked together for 3 years and became really good friends we would hang out a lot and go drinking together. We then decided to leave our company together and start at a new one. However Lucy wanted to finish out the year and I had to leave with 2 weeks notice.
I began working at the new company late last year and thats when I met Hannah, we started talking and had similar hobbies and likes and became quick friends. The next time Lucy and I hung out I told her about Hannah and how she’d really like her and she was excited. We became a sort of trio at work and would all hang out together at my place for drinks or going out clubbing every other weekend, I introduced them both into my close circle of friends and added them into our group chat and everything. This all happened in the span of 6 months.
Now I don’t know if I’m just being crazy but in the last month/month and a half it seems like Lucy and Hannah have been hanging out a lot more together and I’ve been left to the dust. They’ve both been posting to their stories hanging out together, getting lunches or having cocktail sleep overs without sending any kind of invite my way, when previously I would always invited the third if we’d made plans.
They’ve also started backing out of any plans I’ve made with them recently, game nights, drinks, dinners, etc. The one that really nailed it into me was when Lucy and I had left work I asked her what she was doing tonight. “Nothing much” “Well I’m going to make curry for our camping trip at (other friend)’s house, wanna come have dinner?” “Nah I think I’ll just have a quiet one tonight but have fun!” Queue a snapchat story of a cocktails and charcuterie board “sleepover” tagging Hannah. What the fuck?
Thats not even mentioning, inviting me to a music festival after I comment on how broke I am, going to get dinner together after I’d left work and they’d finished together.
Finally, yesterday I asked Hannah what she was doing this weekend. She told me “Oh Lucy is going to such and such’s place for dinner, drinks and pottery painting, she bought me a pot and told me to come.” Gut punch. I used to be work friends with the girls hosting too, I’ve been to their house multiple times. “Oh.. Mad invite haha” I joked and Hannah replied “Hey don’t look at me take it up with Lucy.” So I did. Sort of. I don’t want to be forced in, I don’t want to feel like an obligation, I just would like an invitation even if I can’t go. When I asked Lucy what she was doing this weekend she mentioned the paint and sip but no invitation was extended and I just broke down.
Am I crazy? I don’t know what to do or say at this point. Sorry for the long post I needed it off my chest.

2024.05.03 10:12 micronesiarain Episode 4- "Black Table Talk" 🎙️🖤

Episode 4-
the queens return to the workroom after the previous challenge and see the placements displayed on a large monitor
Contessa: The prettiest ones safe, at least we did it together!
🏁 Contessa CF: Last week was the first time this season where you could say I had a bit of a slip. And shockingly, I'm at peace with it. I gave everything I had to the challenge, and that's what's important to me. And if my Season Four sisters had some nicer looks for me to work with, maybe I could've done better. Just kidding! But honestly...where were the silks and chiffons?
Tiwa: I was hoping for a miracle, but I can't be mad about it when everyone brought it at the level they did. I'm really inspired to be around performers like you.
🏁 Tiwa CF: There's major imposter syndrome going on. Any good critique I get, it feels like it is going to a totally different person. But any criticism, it feels like a shot to the heart and it's all I can focus on.
Unieke: This whole group is a dream to be part of. All of us...absolutely sickening. And Tiwa, I'm not about to let you forget that!
Tiwa: Thank you, really.
🏁 Tiwa CF: These queens have pulled me back from the edge too many times to count at this point. I'm not someone who would ever be pressed about not winning a design challenge. But it's like my mind is reaching out to find anything bad to cling onto.
gtGIRL: Congratulations to our winners, Anthyy and Zodya!
Zodya: Thank you, thank you!
Anthyy: Did it feel like All Stars all over again?
Zodya: Maybe just a bit!
gtGIRL: First one to two wins, I would tip my hat to you if I was wearing one. But for now, I shall just tip this cute little headband.
🏁 gtGIRL CF: I am dreading getting out of this look. I've never felt more at home, more authentic. The insect life is the life for me, I won't micropologize for that. Ever!!
Unieke: Share the wealth! But hey, I think that makes you the frontrunner.
Zodya: Does it? If I keep losing these lipsyncs, I'm not so sure about that.
Unieke: I don't knowww, I think you're leading the pack!
🏁 Zodya CF: I'm trying to telepathically communicate to Unieke to stop talking about who the frontrunner is. I've never been in this position before, but I can feel more eyes on me than ever. The power is slightly delicious, but very scary at the same time. It's like a chamoy pickle in a sense.
Zodya: Anthyy, how did it feel to get the win?
Anthyy: Amazing!! Oop, lemme compose myself. Nope I can't, it was just amazing!
Tiwa: You can finally take a deep breath now and relax.
Anthyy: These fingers are all sore, but worth it for this look.
🏁 Anthyy CF: It's real cute to have fun during the challenges. But that feeling when you put your whole puss into the challenge and win, it's a diva moment!
Tiwa: The level of detail just blew me away.
Anthyy: They say take one thing off, but I put ten more things on and made sure it was all in the right place. The outcome felt correct!
🏁 Anthyy CF: All Stars for me was all about winning as much as possible. This time was supposed to be about letting loose, and it was going that way! And then I get a win under my belt and realize there's nothing stopping me from being the winner. It would be the perfect ending to my MDR journey, let's keep the momentum going.
Contessa: Moof, you're awfully quiet. I'm not complaining, but...
Moof: I'm good. Very happy for the winners, congrats girls!
🏁 Moof CF: I'm choosing to keep my mouth shut, because there are a lot of emotions going through me right now. I don't want to rain on their parade, but I do feel like it should've been me in the top over one of them. I feel like I'm being overlooked, even though I've been checking all the boxes every week.
Contessa: ...okay! I almost believed it when you said that.
Moof: Believe me, I'm thrilled. Some might even say overjoyed.
Anthyy: Is this about the block?
Moof: A very small portion of it.
Anthyy: It was a gift from you to me, I had to let you share that magical feeling.
Moof: Got you, I got it.
🏁 Anthyy CF: It's all over her face, Moof wanted to win this week. She'll have her moment eventually, but this was a week for the real fashion queens.
Unieke: You sure you're good?
Moof: Oh my god, you lot are tiring. You want an answer from me that isn't something I actually feel. What do you want me to say right now?
gtGIRL: Recite the alphabet backwards.
Unieke: I don't want you getting heated, I want to make sure you're all good.
Moof: And like I said, I'm good.
🏁 Moof CF: I'm laser focused right now on this next challenge. I thought this would be my week to win, but all I got from it was a block. My hopes were high, and it was the worst outcome. I need to come forward as someone to be afraid of. If I could win this next challenge even though I can't get a banjo, how could you ignore that? It would show that I'm here to compete, win, and make some moves.
Unieke: Emotions are high right now. Let's get out of drag and get some rest. I love you girls, let's end it there.
the queens get up and get out of drag as the conversations continue
Contessa: When you're ready to talk about whatever, know I'm here for you.
Moof: Thank you. I wish it wasn't getting to me, but thanks for being there for me.
Contessa: You pulled me from a very stressful place with this last challenge, I owe you.
🏁 Contessa CF: There are a lot of perks to having some of my close friends here. But one of the unexpected downsides has been that I'm invested in how they do here. I didn't consider myself an empath, I prefer being an ice cold bitch. But Moof and Tiwa...there's a soft spot there for sure.
Zodya: I'm gonna need you to help get this target off of me. This is unfamiliar territory for me.
gtGIRL: I'll do what I can to help you out. You know you have me on your side.
Zodya: Is there any way I avoid a block soon?
gtGIRL: Well, you could always win the challenge!
Zodya: I'm so screwed.
🏁 gtGIRL CF: My competitive senses are starting to tingle. Above all else, I came here to have fun. But I see other queens clearing a path to the crown, and something needs to be done about that. I brought a sizable collection of boots with me, it's time to use them to stomp stomp stomp to the top. I'm ready to kill them. With love of course! And I'll get away with it. teehee!
The Next Day
the queens enter the workroom in unison and gather around the table
🏁 Unieke CF: It's a brand new day, and I may or may not have done three summoning circles earlier to try and manifest a win. Whatever it takes, we need it!
Moof: I want to clear the air about last night. I was in the middle of a lot of emotions. I didn't want to discuss it, because that moment wasn't about that.
Unieke: We're here for you when things like that happen. We're here together, we need to show up.
Moof: Thank you, Unieke. Anthyy and Zodya, I really am happy for the two of you.
Zodya: I know you are, we're all good.
🏁 Zodya CF: This group isn't necessarily one big happy family. But we seem to have reached a point where things are very cordial and peaceful. It won't last past lunch, but enjoy it while it's here!
gtGIRL: Add workroom banter here. Oh, I don't think I was supposed to say that part. Ahem, let's try again!
gtGIRL: What was everyones reason for coming back to compete again?
Contessa: It's a bit of a pride thing, I can't lie. The first time, I had to show that I was a winner. Coming in this time, we already know.
🏁 Contessa CF: Now, half the cast on Season Four knew I was a winner from the first episode, but we move.
Moof: I knew I had to come back. Not only to show off how much I've grown since Season Five, but to represent the season. People want to throw shade at Season Five, but that season was a really special moment, I need to give it some flowers.
Unieke: Well, you do give flowers to something that died.
Zodya: Unieke, you are a mess!
Unieke: Stick with me honey, let mama teach you.
🏁 Unieke CF: Miss Zodya Killer, she got some evil in her. I will gladly take on the responsibility of letting her unleash that.
Moof: Like I said, Season Five stays catching strays!
the workroom door swings open and Micro walks in wearing a denim bodysuit with baggy denim boots and a slicked back ponytail
Unieke: And I was just getting warmed up, the hell!?
Micro: Hello, hello! If it isn't my favorite award winning designers. So far, you've shown that each of you can perform, market yourself, and put together a look worthy of a queen. For your challenge this week, we're giving the viewers a peak into the lives of their favorite queens. In two groups, you'll be working together as part of the new revealing talk show, "Black Table Talk".
Unieke: Why it gotta be black?
Micro: They were the cheapest at Home Depot, you know the budget we got!
Unieke: I see you queen.
Micro: You'll be choosing your own teams for this challenge. One group of four, and one group of three. And on the runway, category is "Work of Art"! Good luck ladies, it's time to get real!
Micro leaves the workroom and the queens rush to get into groups
🏁 Moof CF: The best thing for a challenge like this is having the right dynamic on the panel. I need to find Contessa and Tiwa right away.
Moof: Tiwa, Contessa...you down?
Contessa: That was easy! Let's go.
🏁 Contessa CF: This team is the best option for all of us, but I'm worried about Tiwa. She's been keeping to herself lately, and this is not the challenge where you want to get quiet.
Zodya rushes around the workroom to grab Anthyy and gtGIRL
🏁 Zodya CF: I've been on enough seasons to have all the right connections. Anthyy is someone who will do the work, and gtGIRL has an effortless sense of humor to keep everything moving and flowing.
Zodya: What do you think about this group?
gtGIRL: Yes please!
Anthyy: Lemme think...
🏁 Anthyy CF: After Zodya comes over to me, I look over at Unieke and start to worry. Both groups of three came together instantly, but Unieke wasn't pulled into anything. That's my girl, and she's an asset on this team. We need her.
Anthyy: Unieke needs to be with us. That bitch is sickening.
Zodya: Do you think she'd be down?
Anthyy: Yes ma'am! Unieke, come over here.
Unieke: I'm feeling this energy. Dream team?
gtGIRL: Absolutely yes please!
🏁 Unieke CF: Being on the larger team is a little intimidating, but I know I can talk for hours on end. This is what I need in order to push through. I'm getting my good shoes on and grabbing the loudest microphone, showtime!
Anthyy, gtGIRL, Unieke, and Zodya sit on the couches and go over their segment
🏁 Anthyy CF: Our team for this challenge has all the right elements to bring us a win. We'll give Micro no choice but to make it a quadruple win!
gtGIRL: Before we get into possible talking points, does anyone strongly want to be the moderator?
Zodya: I wouldn't mind.
Unieke: I don't want to be pushy about it, but I think I really need this. I have no wins, this is a spot where I could change that.
🏁 Anthyy CF: I think all of us could do great work with this role. But I have a chance here to help a friend, I know what I have to do.
Anthyy: Unieke, I think this is the perfect role for you.
Unieke: We good with this?
Zodya: It's all yours.
🏁 Zodya CF: If I was in the moderator position, I know another win would be in reach. But Unieke wants the chance to prove herself, and I don't want to be the one pushing against that. She can have it, but this will be the only time I give up a chance like this.
Unieke: Ah, I can't wait! Thanks you guys, this should be fun. Any ideas for what we should talk about?
gtGIRL: I think it would be swell to discuss the power of wearing clothes that don't go past the knee.
Zodya: Yeah, I don't know about that one.
Anthyy: If I know Micro, I know that she'll be looking for people who are really giving emotion and honesty. And with how tense it's gotten with discussing sexuality and gender identity, maybe we tackle that? Share about our journeys and how we made it through something that can be scary.
Unieke: Perfect, I'm on board!
Zodya: It's something that connects all of us, even though we have our own perspectives. I think it'll be great.
🏁 gtGIRL CF: Anthyy is taking a very active role in getting all of this together. Unieke is the moderator, but I have to give props to Anthyy for making sure all the ducks are in a row. It's me, I'm one of the ducks.
Unieke: And do we have any ideas for the looks we want?
gtGIRL: I do-
Zodya: We can't all wear a mini dress.
gtGIRL: First of all, you most certainly can. And second of all, I was going to say business casual. Lady on the go...she works at an office...she drinks coffee and types on a keyboard.
Unieke: That feels very specific.
gtGIRL: Okay fine, she doesn't need to type on a keyboard.
Zodya: But she could!
gtGIRL: So true Zodya, you see the vision.
Contessa, Moof, and Tiwa sit around the table to plan for the challenge
🏁 Contessa CF: With there only being three of us, I think it helps us out a ton in the challenge. The other team needs to worry about talking over people and saying everything they need to say, we have room to breathe and make sure it all works perfectly.
Moof: I want to start off by saying, we got the best possible team here. We've worked together before, this is perfect for us.
🏁 Moof CF: Between the three of us, we have a solid amount of hosting experience. Contessa and I have hosted our own drag competitions, Tiwa hosts a talk show, this should be smooth sailing.
Contessa: Tiwa, do you think you're up for moderating? We need to get you a banjo.
Tiwa: I don't think right now is the best time for that.
Moof: You good?
Tiwa: I'm sorry, I need to take a moment.
🏁 Tiwa CF: Earlier today, I got some news from home that has taken all of my focus away from this competition. There are things I need to tend to, and all I can do is hope that I'm back in time to be part of this challenge.
Tiwa leaves the workroom
Moof: Do we think she'll come back?
Contessa: Oh yeah, she wouldn't leave for good without saying goodbye.
Moof: In case she doesn't come back, how do we want to plan this?
Contessa: If she doesn't return, we can banter back and forth and be a proper duo. If she does come back, I can step up and moderate.
Moof: Okay. If you're open to it, I also want to moderate if she returns.
Contessa: Two moderators?
Moof: I was thinking more about me being the only moderator.
🏁 Moof CF: I need to get back on top and win another banjo. I know Contessa feels the same way, but I really want this. And after helping her last week, she said it herself that she owes me.
Contessa: I have a lot of ideas of what we could do, I think I'd keep everything in order.
Moof: What are your ideas?
Contessa: I sort of want to know if I'm the moderator before giving them up.
Moof: Really?
Contessa: ...
🏁 Contessa CF: Even in a group challenge, we're competing for one crown at the end of this. I don't want to be difficult, but I need to make sure I'm prioritizing myself.
Moof: After everything last week, I would really like to moderate. But I'm not about to fight you for it. The decision is yours, just know that that's my desire.
Contessa: I think I'll moderate.
Moof: ...alright.
🏁 Moof CF: I didn't want to force Contessa to let me moderate. I was hoping that by making it very clear that I wanted to do it, she would do the right thing. And maybe she did for herself, but she really burned me here.
gtGIRL and Zodya get ready by the mirrors as they talk about their fears for the challenge
Zodya: How are you feeling about the challenge?
gtGIRL: I try and be very cute and funny to avoid getting too personal, but I think this challenge could be a chance for me to open up.
Zodya: I'm not about to cry with this makeup on, but your story is one that people need to hear. Accepting the idea of being queer is such a hard thing to do. But you're a success story.
gtGIRL: Zodya...
Zodya: No, listen to me. Your talent, the way you carry yourself, the way that people view you? It's something that inspires me.
gtGIRL: Screw the makeup, this is gonna make me tear up. Thank you.
🏁 gtGIRL CF: I was starting to get in my head, and Zodya brought me back to earth. So many parts of our journeys on MDR have been connected, and I know it happened for a reason. That's my girl.
gtGIRL: And I hope you know how amazing your story is too. Seeing how much you've grown since Season Six, I'm so proud of you.
Zodya: That means so much coming from you. I need to fix this eye makeup and then it's time to get it done.
gtGIRL: Nobody else I'd rather trauma dump with!
🏁 Zodya CF: gtGIRL and I were close on Season Six, but I was still so intimidated by her. And if you were there, you would've felt the same after that seventh win! She feels like a sister this time, I'm so glad to have her here.
Tiwa returns to the workroom and rejoins her team
🏁 Tiwa CF: I'm back with the girls, and there's not much time before we have to go out and do the challenge. Real life issues tried to get in the way, all I can do now is hope that I can catch up and make sure I don't bring them down.
Moof: You alright?
Tiwa: Honestly...no. But I'm dedicated to this team, we're making it through today.
Contessa: I know how hard this has been for you. Thank you for pulling through.
🏁 Contessa CF: Ideally, we would've had a lot more time with Tiwa to work on this. We can't change what happened, it's going to need to be a rush to get her ready for this. There are minutes until we hit the stage...minutes.
Tiwa: Tell me everything, I'm gonna get a quick beat going.
Moof: Moderator, go ahead.
🏁 Moof CF: You want the power, I'll let you handle this one!
Contessa: 2023 is over, we're talking about it. The good, the bad, how we grew, all that. And dress like you're going to a funeral...in a very chic way.
Tiwa: ...I think I got all that.
🏁 Tiwa CF: I need to go with the flow and roll with the punches. I'm winging it entirely.

a golden glow falls upon the runway before a sharp silhouette steps into the light and reveals to be Micro strutting down the center of the stage
Micro Episode 4 Look
Micro: Hello my beauties, and welcome back to the runway of Micro's Drag Race: All Winners! Joining me on the judging panel tonight is a drag artist who is bewitchingly talented, Hex!
Hex Guest Judging Look
Micro: Hex, welcome back!
Hex: Thanks for having me, it's always loads of fun.
Micro: You know a few things about creating a work of art. What are you looking for in these looks?
Hex: Take the inspiration and add your own twist to it. Make sure your own style shines through.
Micro: And when you look that sickening, I think it's wise to take your advice! Now, you ready to get started?
Hex: Let's do it!
Micro: Earlier today, the queens were asked to work in two groups and put together their own panel style segment for the revealing new show, "Black Table Talk". And on the runway, category is..."Work of Art"!
--------------
"Bad Juju" by Jujubee pulses throughout the studio as the queens begin to strut the runway
Tiwa: Inspired by the iconic The Persistence of Memory painted by Salvador Dali I have taken the clocks and turned them into actual pieces or ART! The liquified art has moulded itself on my body creating a sculpture fit for the next fixture in the Modern Art Museum!
Tiwa Runway
Contessa: Miss Micro called for a work of art? I said let me bring the piece right onto the runwayyy! This look is a fashion representation of the work by Gustav Klimt. He worked mainly with the colour gold and focused a lot on having a female subject... guess it's good a biological woman is wearing this right now, huh? This runway look is so grand and glamorous but also artsy and camp. Those are the two elements I try to combine in my drag so this is one of my favourite runways to date.
Contessa Runway
Moof: This look inspired "Kanagawa oki nami ura", a very famous Japanese print, dated between 1830 and 1832, made by Katsushika Hokusai. I chose to incorporate this into an outfit by adapting a Japanese yukata, and combining it with the flows of the print's vicious waves, the way they flow all around. There is even a cute boat in the waves of the hair, creating a sparkly wake through this hair art. I chose to appreciate this artwork and fashion piece because I find them to be very beautiful and a respectful way to portray the beauty of Japanese culture.
Moof Runway
Unieke: For this work of art runway, I wanted to stay very to who I am inside and give some love to my inner child. So this piece is a beautifully Lopunny inspired piece paying tribute to the Pokémon art style. Lopunny is nothing but high femininity and BODY! Literally me! You thought it was over!? Yeah SIKE! Open your mouth babe, it’s opened from GAGGING! This beautiful train pays so much homage to the Japanese video game designer, illustrator, manga artist, and director of Pokémon, Ken Sugimori!! The drawings on this outfit shows off his Gen 1 Art style which holds a very special place in my heart. I am so happy about this piece. It’s different, campy, but yet still so me!
Unieke Runway
Zodya: For the Work of Art runway, I am inspired by two famous artists/art styles: the Jingdezhen white and blue porcelain pottery of early China and…myself! This look is actually a remake of the very first look I’ve ever drawn for a competitive org, that being FDR5’s premiere. And ever since that challenge, I’ve been terrorizing runways for just under 2 years, with that very first win proudly over my chest as a medallion! The armor pieces are made to be inspired by old porcelain, with intricate blue and white patterns and designs all across my body. Oh, and what’s better with porcelain than tea! Bitch I am OVERFLOWING, and exuberant that I was able to recreate this fantasy and make it even bigger and better than ever before! Wanna take a sip, bitch?
Zodya Runway
Anthyy: Tonight's runway catgeory in my eyes is a perfect opportunity to do something you know i always love to do - represent my culture. One of our best polish paintings is "Girl with chrysanthemums" by one and only Olga Boznańska. But i have a personal story with this painting. It's in my homecity,. actually in a museum very near from where i live. And when i was very little my grandma took me to see it with me. And then in the little souvenir shop she bought me a little notebook with girl with chrysanthemums on the cover, and that was my first sketchboook ever. All the first anthyy creations were created there. i still have this notebook its very near to my heart and now and then i sketch a bit in it to see my own growth.
But when it comes to this look you can see this is a very diffrent than a lot of my fashions. All because of the style, the bucket, the template, the line art it all went to trash this week and i showed you pure anthy uysing the acricic paint brush - the same as Olga in her original painting from 1894. I am the little girl from the painting literally, hair mug DOWN. I just did not put her in an ufgly potato sac and instead ina very cute little dress. Baby is this a funeral of other girls carreeerS? cause im overflowing with chrysanthemums.

Critiques
Micro: Queens, excellent work this week! This week, you competed in teams. But tonight, you'll be judged individually.
Read the critiques here!
Micro: Thank you queens. While Hex and I deliberate, you may all head backstage to Untucked.
Untucked
the queens enter Untucked
🏁 Unieke CF: My team put their trust into me this week, it's the best feeling to know I helped elevate us to the peak of our abilities. I'm not putting the horse in front of the car or whatever the saying is, but I think this might be my week to win!
Zodya: To those who can actually sit down in your looks, I envy you.
gtGIRL bounces in her apple
Zodya: How does everyone feel about their critiques?
Contessa: There are certain challenges where you feel like it's just not your week. I thought that might be the case here. I try not to get too emotional, I think it causes premature aging. But I let go tonight and it really resonated. This week will always hold a special place in my heart.
🏁 Contessa CF: People can get on my case about being "too confident". This was a week where I didn't feel all that confident. I learned a lot about myself and my capabilities. And for me, that means a lot.
Unieke: Oh, 100%. I get in my head all the time about being more than comedy and performing. I love to chat, but leading something like this was brand new for me.
Moof: And the critiques weren't too bad!
Unieke: I mean...my fingers are crossed!
🏁 Anthyy CF: I'm so happy for my sister. She got the love she deserves from the judges. I think I was part of her shining moment, so it's like I'm right there with her!
gtGIRL: Tiwa, you alright?
🏁 Tiwa CF: The critiques hit me like a train tonight. I knew I wasn't at the top of my game during the challenge, and I was ready to hear about that. But I was so excited to share this runway, and it got absolutely shredded. I felt like I finally got that gasp of air, only to be pushed back underwater.
Tiwa: It's getting harder and harder to get these critiques. It's no secret that I've been struggling for the past few weeks, but today was on another level. I've thought about leaving so many times, and I came close today.
Unieke: Leaving the competition?
Tiwa: Each week is reminding me more that saying yes to coming back might not have been the right choice. I'm so honored to be part of this group, and you've all been amazing, but it's really hard when you feel like you can't find your footing.
🏁 Contessa CF: I'm starting to worry about Tiwa. I've known her outside of this forever, but I feel like I'm seeing a version of her that I haven't seen before. I know her to be charismatic and fun, not someone who's the last to speak and go into her shell. I need to keep all my focus on the competition, but this is a real friendship and it's all I can think about right now.
Anthyy: I don't want you to quit. You've come too far, and you have so much more to show.
Tiwa: Do I? Everything I've shown so far has been mediocre at best.
Unieke: Don't say that. You've put the work in and we can all see that. Forget about the critiques, just focus on making sure you're proud of what you've created. Keep fighting, we know you can do this.
the queens return to the runway
Micro: Welcome back ladies! Based on your performances tonight, I've made some decisions.
🏁 Anthyy CF: Whenever I want honest feedback, I go to Hex. But tonight, I'm hoping Micro ignored her!
Micro: Tiwa. You are safe. You may step to the side of the stage.
Tiwa: Thank you.
🏁 Tiwa CF: I know I wasn't at the top of my game tonight. I could've done so much better, I don't know what's not clicking.
Micro: The rest of you represent the best and brightest of the week.
🏁 gtGIRL CF: This season is all about collecting banjos. And since we don't know what the next challenge will be, the last thing you want is to be blocked from getting a banjo. I hope I did enough to sneak into the top this week, just for that layer of protection.
🏁 Unieke CF: At first, being in the top was like "whaa, me?! You shouldn't have". But we're four challenges in. I need a banjo, and I need it now!
Micro: Count Contessa, Unieke. Congratulations, you are the top queens of the week! You have each won a highly coveted "Golden Banjo™️".
🏁 Contessa CF: She believed she could, so she did. Second banjo secured, it feels great!
🏁 Unieke CF: Ahhh, yes!! I still got it, let's give these girls something to be afraid of.
Micro: Anthyy, gtGIRL, Moof, Zodya. You are all safe and may step to the side of the stage.
🏁 Moof CF: I wanted this to be a winning week for me, I really did. I can't help but kick myself for letting go of the moderator role.
🏁 Anthyy CF: I might not be earning a banjo right now, but I still feel like I won in my own way. I gave my all to my team, and I couldn't be happier to see my girl Unieke snatch her first win!
Micro: Now, are the two of you ready for a lipsync battle?
Contessa Lipsync Look
Unieke Lipsync Look
Micro: Prior to tonight, you were asked to prepare a lipsync performance of "Prayer For The Broken" by the gorgeous and incomparable Naya Rivera.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHtjypkGzZg
Micro: And if you know me, you know I love this woman, so do it justice!
🏁 Contessa CF: I can't be the next Zodya. I need to win this one.
🏁 Unieke CF: Being on stage is where I feel the most comfortable. Winning this would prove to everyone that I can give it to you across the board.
Micro: The winner of the lipsync will earn the power to block one of their fellow queens from winning a banjo next week, so remember the power that's up for grabs!
🏁 Contessa CF: I've been blocked before. Thankfully, it didn't end up mattering. But when you have that block, you are very paranoid about your position in the competition. I want that power and to be the first person to make sure their block lands.
🏁 Unieke CF: The process of choosing groups for this challenge is exactly why I need to win this lipsync. There are distinct alliances in this group, I need to make my move to ensure my protection moving forward.
Micro: Good luck, and don't fuck it up!
Read the lipsync here!
Micro wipes away a tear and claps for both queens
Micro: Ladies, thank you for such a beautiful performance. I've made my decision.
...
...
Micro: Contessa. You're a winner, baby!
🏁 Contessa CF: Mwahaha, I have the power! We're reaching the point where frontrunners are emerging, this is the chance to shift the direction of the competition.
Micro: Unieke, thank you for the show.
Unieke: Anytime.
🏁 Unieke CF: Losing lipsyncs is certainly not something I enjoy, but I guess other people need time to shine. But if she wants a rematch, the outcome will be very different, know that.
Micro: Now, will all of the queens please step to the front of the stage.
🏁 gtGIRL CF: Every week, I'm expecting to be blocked. When I won a challenge, I blocked Contessa. This sorta feels like my fate has been sealed.
🏁 Tiwa CF: If Contessa doesn't want to play messy, she could block me. I wasn't as involved this week as I could've been, and I know that's in her mind somewhere.
🏁 Zodya CF: Remember who blocked you...remember who blocked you. Don't think about how I would've done the same, just think about who actually blocked you!
Micro: Contessa. With great power comes great responsibility. Which queen have you chosen...to block?
🏁 Contessa CF: I can't make this decision based on emotion. When we get to the end of this season, someone being blocked from a banjo might be what makes the difference between me going to the finale or them going.
Contessa: My first reason for blocking this person isn't actually their fault, it was Micro's. You stole my win so this is my revenge that is mistargeted. Secondly, you statistically have been doing the best and in a season about statistics I don't want you to get too ahead so early on. For those reasons, I am blocking...
...
Contessa: Miss Zodya Killa.
Zodya flutters her eyes and places her hands below her chin like she's about to win the ONLY toddler pageant
🏁 Zodya CF: The chance of moving the target off of me and onto gtGIRL was slim. I thought maybe it might happen, but here we are. We took a step forward earlier with our friendship, and now she's taken multiple steps back.
Micro: Zodya. I'm sorry my dear, but you have been blocked. You will still compete in the challenge next week, and you can still win. However, you will not be eligible to earn a highly coveted "Golden Banjo™️".
Zodya: Can I ask one teeny tiny question?
Micro: You may.
Zodya: If Contessa blocked me, does that mean I don't have to hear from her for the next week?
Unieke: My god...
🏁 Unieke CF: Could bring a tear to my eye, they learn so quickly!
Micro: Well, that would be a restraining order, but I can't wait to see how this brings the two of you closer.
Zodya: Can't wait!
Micro: As we approach the halfway point in this competition, keep your eye on the prize, and remember the one of a kind talents that brought you this far.
🏁 Tiwa CF: I'm going into this next week knowing just how high the stakes are. I've had a rocky journey here, but if there's a chance to make a comeback while everyone else is engulfed in the drama, that's the time to strike. I'm not letting go of this opportunity.
Micro: Now, let the music play!
"Banjo" by BeBe Zahara Benet begins to play
Next Time on Micro's Drag Race: All Winners
Micro: Be afraid, be very afraid! This week, you'll be investigating the dark unsolved mysteries of...The Lost Season.
Moof: This is scary, this is terrifying, this is something we may not all survive.
Contessa: If anyone doesn't make it out alive, know that I hate all of you equally.
🏁 Unieke CF: I was there...it wasn't all that bad, chile. Snap out of it!

Hi, I'm a 5"2 Singaporean (Indian-Chinese) butch lesbian looking to get to know more people to see if we might be compatible enough to date! If we aren't compatible for dating but get along well, I'm happy to make new online friends :-) Am open to anyone from any country, and I don't have a type - love femmes, butches, anyone in between/beyond. If we do get into an LDR, taking practical steps to make an LDR work, including closing the distance, would be important to me. I'm also happy to send a picture of myself over DMs.

2024.04.29 21:39 Frame_Late Shackled Minds XI

Prev First
Thiva
“We have business to attend to. I will not have you enter a battle against the Cabal unarmed.”
The Lord Commander had been insistent on her and Saturn following him to a place in the higher districts, eventually amongst the ivory district. I had never entered the ivory district before, but to my surprise many of the rumors I had heard about them seemed to be true: the townhomes and apartments transformed from rough-hewn slate and sandstone to small, sectioned-off townhomes and terrace houses of polished marble and granite, with beautifully painted clay shingles decorating the rooftops instead of the crude metal sheets that most other homes came equipped with. Electric lamps and braziers lit and warmed the streets respectively as the more well-to-do members of society gathered around specific covered balconies and terraces drank yam sochu, ate delicacies that we could barely afford, and smoked incense. Their fur was braided and trimmed, their teeth white and perfectly aligned: I knew instinctively that I stuck out like a sore thumb compared to anyone who actually belonged here. I was a peasant girl, with calloused hands from long days of digging through scrap and stained teeth from cheap smoked tea and inhaling plenty of soot from our co-fired stoves and fathers inferior and acrid incense that smells like wood ash and broken dreams.
“Are you taking it all in, Thiva? This is how the other half lives while the peasants nearly starve,” the Lord Commander grumbled, “When the biannual tribute became mandatory, a special class of brokers and traders rose to power: everything we sell in this city that brings us wealth, from pork to coal, became so much riskier to transport because the margin of profit became so slim it was nearly impossible to transport it without their connections to the guard.”
“I know,” I interrupted, “They buy what's left of our spare hog droves and sell it at an upcharge. We barely make enough to consider it a profit anymore.”
“Precisely. Before the Cabal came, a farming community used to be able to band together and transport all their hogs to the next town over, sell them at auction, and split the profit per family contribution, which meant that farmers and ranchers used to be wealthy, sometimes wealthier than skilled craftsman or veteran scrappers.” The Lord Commander explained as he led us down another vibrant street, the roses paved with limestone brick. “Now? The Cabal will make your caravan disappear unless you have a specific, stamped and sealed document saying you can provide the proper ‘tribute’ for the right to travel across the boneyard. You can only buy that kind of official document from specific magisters who have the authority to stamp and seal them, and they're all oftentimes related to the nobility. So are the brokers, often cousins, nieces and nephews, or even second and third sons of the noble families who don't stand to inherit more than an influential name. But those names make money move now that the balance of power has shifted, and now the money moves right into all their pockets: they get cheap cattle to sell, the nobles get a poor and compliant population, and the Cabal gets even more money.”
“So this city is feasting on its own innards,” Saturn grumbled as he took in the scenery, “People like Thiva are going to struggle, maybe even starve, and I'm sure these lush plutocrats will be the first to buy up all the remaining food.”
“Of course, you already know the plan,” said the Lord Commander, “they all have exit strategies: once they milk what's left for everything they're worth, they'll flee to the Yoturs. The Cabal is powerful, but not powerful enough to take on the Yoturs in an offensive war and win. I'm sure the Yoturs are just eagerly awaiting for this order of events to unfold, and for the boneyard to become as its namesake once and for all.”
I was angry. I was beyond angry. My father had lost nearly everything he had: his self esteem, his health, his aspirations, and his future, all because of these swine in the Ivory district, and the Cabal. It was infuriating to know that he died a poor man, when he should have lived his life here, in the Ivory district, as a hero. He should have been able to give my mother the life she deserved. It wasn't fair.
I kicked a rock with all my might, sending it skittering down the paved road. “My father bled for garbage,” I hissed, tears welling in my eyes, “nothing but garbage.”
In an instant, the Lord Commander turned around and gave me a melancholic look. “No, he didn't. He didn't bleed for these people: he bled for the city he prided, and the family he loved. His life was not a waste.”
“I don't understand why my father was left to be poor and impoverished, then.”
“He had his pension, and before the Cabal came many farmers and ranchers were wealthy. He believed he was assuming control of a farm that would give you and your brother good lives, not years of struggle,” he continued, “And it is unbecoming of you to tarnish his honor by saying it was pointless.”
“I never meant-”
“What you meant doesn't matter, what you implied does. Watch your words, and honor your parents: your mother will not take kindly to such insulting words when she learns of Malac’s death.”
I looked down and kicked the dirt again with my paw. “Just tell me where we are going, Lord Commander.”
The Lord commander gave me one last sad look, then turned around and kept leading us forward. Saturn has been quiet throughout the entire exchange, although I didn't know why: he was usually much more vocal about such topics.
“I'm taking you to an old friend who's family had come into possession of a peculiar artifact some decades ago. It is a powerful cursed weapon said to only allow warriors with an indomitable will to wield it,” The Lord Commander explained, “The last to wield it was my cousin, Lokran, but he passed on some time ago. Still, I think you might find use for it, Saturn.”
“How so? I prefer my fists.”
The Lord Commander snorted. “Your fists will not be enough, no matter how strong you are. They must be dead for you to claim your bounty.”
“Then what weapon is it? You mentioned it was cursed.”
“It is a magnificent glaive, practically a work of art, of unknown origin. It is also cursed to overrun the minds of unworthy wielders with nightmarish visions so potent they can even be deadly. My cousin was the only one who had been known to wield it, but even then we suspected that he couldn't access its full potential.”
“I heard about that,” I added, “My father would talk about him all the time, he even said he was a hero.”
“He was.” The Lord Commander said, “There was nobody like him: he was a foot taller than the average Sho-dai, and bigger too. I'd seen him use that weapon to cleave a half-dozen men in half in one fell swoop, something unimaginable with any other weapon, but metal was like paper to it. That's why I believe you need this weapon, Saturn, if you can wield it, you might be able to fight the Cabal.”
We approached a smaller home, one story shorter than the rest of the row-homes it was connected to. At first, it seemed like nobody was home, but I could see the flickering of oil lamps in the windows, and the shadows of people within the living room. The Lord Commander walked up the steps and knocked, lacing his stubby digits together in an almost nervous way, as if he wasn't looking forward to this meeting.
An old Sho-dai opened the door, his eyes almost yellow with jaundice, graying fur, and his face warped into a scowl, but when he saw the Lord Commander the scowl seemed to soften. “Horak, so nice of you to visit.”
“Hello, uncle,” the Lord Commander spoke, bowing his head to his elder in familial reverence, “I have come to visit.”
The Lord Commander’s uncle just looked past him and at us, glaring at us as if we were intruding on his privacy, which we probably were. “And the guests you've brought? I doubt you're simply here out of the kindness of your heart.”
“I mean no disrespect, Uncle, but I've come to ask you for a favor.”
His uncle just sighed. “You are a Lord, what could you possibly request of me?”
The Lord Commander looked him in the eyes, and I could see a silent conversation unfolding between them. The Lord Commander was unflinching, but his uncle seemed to stiffen in realization. “I said I'd never let another wield it again. It is too dangerous to allow it to fall into Cabal hands.”
“Uncle, I know of a warrior who can wield it.”
“You think you know of a warrior who can wield it,” hissed the Lord Commander's uncle, his eyes narrowing in anger, “but the truth is that nobody can wield it, even Lokran couldn't! Do you know what that weapon did to him behind closed doors? Do you know how he suffered?”
“Uncle, you cannot keep holding on to the past-”
“I am doing no such thing, Horak!” The Lord Commander shouted, causing him to flinch for the first time, “This isn't just about Lokran passing far too soon, this is about how evil that weapon is: it brings nothing but torment, showing you your worst possible fears and amplifying your regrets to the point that they begin to tear apart your soul and inflict madness. And eventually even when Lokran put it down the effects remained, driving him to suicide. It cannot be held by another, or else their blood will be on my hands as well.”
“I understand, but we have a real chance to defeat the Cabal here! There is another who insists!”
“And does he know the consequences?”
“I do,” Saturn interrupted, “And while I'm sorry that your son died, sir, I know I can wield this weapon to its full potential. I just need to see it.”
“Really? You believe you're special? You believe that you're somehow better than my boy, my poor Lokran? You insult me.”
“Not better, but more knowledgeable,” Saturn spoke with absolute certainty, “I recognize such a curse: Where was the weapon found?”
The old Sho-dai scowled, but grimaced in defeat. “Not here, we shall speak of this inside. Such matters are too sensitive to discuss here and now.”
Time Skip
We sat inside, around the living room table, surrounded by beautiful calligraphy paintings and furniture carved from fine wood imported from far away lands, most likely from the hives of the Lowuan. Beyond that, the rest of the home was sparsely decorated, like it hadn't seen true life in years. I wouldn't doubt that. But what stood out the most was a mantle above the fireplace: an elegantly carved onyx weapon stand bolted with brass fittings to hold the most beautiful weapon I had ever seen: a foreign Polearm, with a long pole and a long, curved blade shaped like a thick claw, except that the cleaving edge was the convex side and not the concave. The lower half of the blade was fitted with golden etchwork so beautiful that it could bring tears to the eyes of even the most stone-hearted bladesmiths, and yet there was something horrible about it. It radiated cold malice that sent shivers down my spine, as if it despised everything near it. Now I knew what the old man had meant by it being cursed.
How could someone bear to hold it, much less wield it and focus in battle all at once? Lokran must've had an exceptionally disciplined mind, and even he took his own life. I was starting to doubt Saturn again.
“The pain has only become harder since Izu passed,” said the old Sho-dai as he sat down, his eyes downcast as he poured us each a glass of sochu in fine porcelain glasses, “she was my rock after Lokran… deteriorated: he was our miracle child, you see.”
I didn't know anything about that. I had never really thought about having children of my own before, although recent events did put the… fragility of life into perspective.
“I am sorry,” I spoke passively, “I know the feeling of loss all too well: my father passed away a little less than a day ago.”
“My condolences, child, the boneyard is a cruel place,” the old Sho-dai said, “Lokran always wanted to make it a better place, but he was only one man. The weight of responsibility on his shoulders, along with the intense pressure the weapon put on his mind… it is no wonder he snapped. Even to being near the blade, I feel its antipathy towards all life around it, like it hates us all. Only in battle, when soaked in blood, did its influence wane. He only felt peace in battle. I think with the begrudging peace the Cabal brought was, in many ways, worse than the defeat itself: there were no more battles left to fight, no more hope beyond the struggles. In his final days he wasted away, obsessed with his own failings. He tore himself apart, influenced by whatever demon is within that horrid weapon.”
“Then why keep it?” Saturn blurted out.
“The old Sho-dai looked at him, spooked by his words, “What do you mean? I couldn't just get rid of it.”
“Why not?” Saturn pushed. The Lord-Commander seemed like he wanted to interject, but he didn't. He obviously wanted to see where this was going.
“I can't sell it, nor can I just leave it somewhere: I couldn't bear to see another person become it's next victim.”
“Then scrap it,” Saturn swiveled, “melt it down, break it apart, do whatever needs to be done to destroy it. If you truly wanted it gone, you could have gotten rid of it yourself.”
“I… it is a relic,” the old Sho-dai whimpered, but I could see him losing his cool, “I couldn't get rid of it, it is the weapon of a hero.”
“A weapon that everyone knows is cursed,” Saturn insisted, “unless you've never revealed that to anyone.”
“Most knew of it's true nature, yes, but-”
“But what? You don't think the people would want to destroy a cursed weapon that led to the death of their hero? A weapon that actively hates all who tries to wield it? I'm not numb, sir, I can feel its baleful energy spreading across the room, casting its dark shadow across everyone's minds. It's meant to do that, it's a countermeasure.”
“What nonsense are you talking about? What countermeasures? There's a demon within that blade, and it destroys the minds of its wielders!” The old Sho-dai shouted as he slammed his fists on the table, “it is a weapon, weapons themselves do not choose their wielders! The demon within destroyed my son, and you call that a countermeasure!”
“It's because your son was never meant to wield it, but I can,” Saturn insisted, “the weapon was made for a very specific kind of person, a person of the same species who created the weapon and implanted the countermeasures within to ensure only those with permission could even pick it up without permanent mental and nerve damage. I am one of those people.”
The Old Sho-dai seemed to be stuck between shock and anger, practically shaking as tears welled up in his eyes, but the Lord-Commander held out his arm to calm him and bring him back. “Forgive him, uncle, he doesn't know how much of an insult that is to your son.”
“If he believes he can wield the weapon, then so be it,” The old Sho-dai growled under his breath, “I will not stop him.”
“Uncle, this is bigger than that-”
“You do not know what it is like to lose a son, Horak, so I do not wish to hear it. This… this outsider has the gall to enter my home, insult the pride of our family, and act as if the weapon is somehow his birthright.” He struggled up to his feet, glaring daggers at Saturn and baring his fangs. “I will give you the weapon, but I hope its curse destroys you from within! I hope it destroys everyone you love, as it has for me! At least, in death, I will not have to suffer the burden of the weapon, as I had intended.”
He hobbled over to the weapon rack and picked up a neatly folded cloth next to it, enveloping the handle of the glaive to prevent direct contact, but even then I could still tell that the weapon took a horrible toll on him the moment he held it. Tears poured from his eyes, his body wracked with sobs, and he only made it a few feet before collapsing on his knees and weeping as the weapon covered against the stone floor, the firelight casting a malevolent glow up it, the exotic metals hosting dancing shadows that almost seemed to move with purpose.
Saturn stood up, and stood over the old Sho-dai. At first, it looked like a menacing gesture, but then I quickly realized what the look on his face meant: pity. He pitied the Lord Commander's uncle. “I hold no Ill will to you, sir, but just know that what I am about to do may just destroy you.”
Then Saturn picked up the weapon. The malevolent energy immediately halted. He was so casual about it too, like he had picked up some mundane tool rather than a cursed weapon. He gripped it, held it in different stances, then carried it at his side loosely before turning back to the Lord Commander. His uncle was completely taken back, unable to process what had just happened.
“Where did you find this weapon?” Saturn demanded, obviously concerned, “this isn't the kind of weapon one just finds laying about.”
The Uncle was still dumbstruck and distraught. He sat on the ground, eyes nearly catatonic as he realized that Saturn had just done something neither his son nor anyone else was capable of: wielding the cursed weapon with ease. “It… we had found a tomb deep in the boneyard during a patrol ages and ages ago.”
“And this weapon was in the tomb? Who was buried in it? What species were they?”
“I don't… I had never seen anything like it. It's skeleton was foreign, although its jaw and fangs were intimidating even in death. It held the weapon beside it… after we had returned it and offered it to one of the magisters, it had killed his newborn son in his sleep, most likely from its nightmarish influence. From that point on, we knew that the demon’s soul had possessed it, and that this was the curse for defiling its tomb.”
“These weapons were never meant for you,” Saturn clarified, “they are relics of my people, but more importantly, they were made for a specific subset of servants we had, warrior servants to be precise. The weapons were of such a quality that they never wanted its secrets to be discovered, so they implemented multiple countermeasures to ensure that it would be less than useless to anyone who had taken it.”
The Uncle stood up and sighed. “Leave my home. I have nothing left to live for.”
The Lord Commander stood up in shock. “Uncle, you cannot possibly mean…”
“Go, Horak, I wish to see my beloved family again. I wish for this torment to be over,” he said, shuffling over to the staircase to the second floor, “take your beast and the weapon: I hope he falls on it.”
“Uncle, please…”
“A wise man knows when his time has come,” the old Sho-dai said, “do not wait for the lead to wilt and die, for it shall wither both the spirit and beauty of the flower. I told you that many years ago, when you were young. I told you this day would come.”
“I never thought it would end like this," the Lord Commander said, and I could've sworn I saw tears in his eyes.
“Do not cry for me, you show weakness in front of your guests, just let me continue with honor.”
And with that, the Lord Commander stormed out, and his uncle glared at Saturn one last time. “It is said that the many warriors of a weapon shan't meet the same fate twice, lest the weapon is truly cursed, and that such a curse can only be broken when the warrior defies fate,” the old Sho-dai explained as he gingerly handed the Fauchard to me, his eyes misty. “We shall see if your spirit is strong enough to defy fate, won't we? We shall see if this countermeasure is truly as you say it is.”
Saturn didn't speak, instead choosing to feel the sleek blade of the weapon, it's blade so perfectly sharpened and polished despite decades of use that one could see their own reflection within. I looked at the blade, entranced by my own reflection for some odd reason, only for it to change, showing a gruesome picture: my eyes gouged out and my lips sewn shut. I gasped and stumbled backwards in fear, and I could almost hear otherworldly cackling within the back of my mind.
Time Skip
Just as we left the home, lights in the windows went out in all the rooms except for one: the master bedroom. I knew what would happen next, although I hoped I was wrong. It wasn't uncommon for widows or widowers to end their lives once their entire family had passed along as a form of liberation for the soul, although this liberation had come at such a heavy price that I didn't even know if it was worth it.
“You were cruel to him, Saturn,” I hissed, “you shouldn't have probed him like you did.”
“Maybe not, but I sensed his hypocrisy. If he truly cared for his son, he would have destroyed the weapon long ago. Instead, he let his son be consumed from within, all for the glory and the fame his son’s hero status brought.”
“You don't know that, Saturn! You're reaching and you know it!”
“Maybe, but why not destroy it, then? Why guard it even as its influence tore his entire family apart? The moment that the weapon killed a newborn was the moment they should have melted it down to slag, but they didn't.”
“Life and death can be equally useful,” mumbled the Lord Commander, “both can change the course of history with a single action.”
“Yet only one is permanent,” Saturn hissed back, “I'm sure that your kind could have made a weapon adequate enough for Lokran to wield if he was such a prodigy, and yet you chose to hand him a weapon you knew was dangerous and would destroy him, all for his effectiveness. How long has he been dead now? How much longer could he have lived and served this city if he had not been damned from the beginning by your own shortsightedness?”
As I walked beside Saturn, I could feel waves of vitriol radiate off his new weapon. It was a horrible feeling, like a sickness, and yet Saturn seemed fine. Yet I noticed he clenched the grip of the glaive, and arched his brow in frustration.
“Is it affecting you?” I asked, “It's evil, no matter what you say: I saw my reflection in it and it was… nightmarish.”
“It doesn't affect me,” Saturn grumbled, “I am trying to make sure that it doesn't affect everyone else around me: the moonlight seems to agitate the weapon, like it knows it's free.”
“So there is a demon inside of it,” hissed the Lord Commander as he turned to Saturn, clenching his fists, “why did you lie then?”
“I never lied, there is no demon,” Saturn insisted, “the weapon itself has a mind of its own, it was programmed that way. I'm not sure if it's specific capabilities, but the weapon seems to be designed to destroy its victims in both mind and body.”
The Lord Commander seemed disgusted by that description. “Lokran never spoke of that… and I knew him well. I was one of his few confidants near the end, although…” he stopped for a moment, pondering what he'd say next, “Why couldn't he use those abilities? Why did the weapon affect him instead of his enemies.”
“The weapon only obeys who it was created for,” Saturn spoke, eying the streets around us and noticing that many Sho-dai were beginning to stare at us, especially both the Lord Commander and the Weapon, “It was designed for two individuals: a lord and a servant. Specifically, it was designed to protect the lord first, and be wielded by the servant as a way to aid in that secondly. The way it affects the minds of others both dissuades it from being used by those who are deemed unworthy by the Lord, and to distract enemies on the battlefield and middle their senses. Lokran was truly a gifted and disciplined warrior if he was able to wield the weapon without succumbing to its negative effects, because he would be under its influence as well.”
The Lord Commander grimaced at that description. “Who would create a weapon like that? Who would want a living weapon?”
“Powerful people, ambitious people,” Saturn listed off, “evil people. There was no shortage of them where my people are from.”
The Lord Commander grunted and shook his head. “Fine, what's important is that we have the weapon, and you're able to use it. Now we have just one more stop before the tribute.”
“What would that be?” I asked, confused.
“Near the foundries, specifically the tent next to it. It's time we forced a particularly hefty friend to start pulling his weight.”
Time Skip
The slums near the foundries were tightly packed and made from stone with metal fittings, almost the exact opposite as the Ivory district. Maybe slums were a harsh word, because slums implied filth, poverty and decay: the slums within our city particularly had excellent plumbing even for the poor, public bathhouses, and plenty of other amenities such as public bathrooms to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks and prevent waste from piling up. It also helped that the public waste was supposed to be diverted to the spawning pools in the Cascades for the crustaceans, flat eels, and bottom feeders that the city farmed: they were excellent for both waste disposal and feeding the masses.
The air was lit up with what the locals jokingly referred to as lard-lamps, which were specific oil lamps designed to burn rods of solid hog fat. The air was smokey from chimneys burning coal, and the lights were dimmer, and yet somehow it was much comfier than the ivory district: I, too, was poor, so I felt somewhat welcome here.
The foundries and workshops owned by the scrappers guild, metal guild, and the many little machinists unions all radiated heat that was even more intense, and it was common for Sho-dai who lived in the industrialized parts of the city to cut their fur short as a way to prevent overheating at work. I welcomed the warmth, but many didn't.
Father rarely took me here: men and women had specific roles in Sho-dai society, and that came with specific spaces in public as well. Bath houses were segregated by gender, and most teahouses and alehouses only allowed men. Women oftentimes had their own places to relax, usually libraries or teahouses specifically set aside for women, and certain tavernas, theaters, and even stores only allowed women save for the proprietors in, and this was apparently done to prevent violence or ‘inappropriate displays’ between members of the opposite gender, especially places that provided room and board. Those who were married or betrothed were the exception, which was one of the reasons I had to lie about my relationship with Saturn.
But we weren't worried about those places: the Lord Commander had mentioned a tent next to an alloy foundry, something that set off alarms in my mind. I had heard stories of a strange creature living within the city, a giant creature the size of a sand truck. I didn't know what to make of those legends, since they only started popping up when I was a kid, but my father had confirmed them to be true.
Every time I thought about my father, I felt a pang in my chest. I interlaced my fingers with Saturn and held his hand, the waves of hatred from the weapon in his other hand transforming into an odd form of melancholy, as if the weapon could sense my emotions through my touch with Saturn and was granting me an unexpected yet merciful condolence. Maybe the weapon knew what it was like to lose someone as well, maybe it's wielder: the Lord Commander's uncle mentioned finding the weapon in a tomb.
Saturn squeezed my hand gently, pulling me close so that I'd be walking beside him, and looked at me. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” I replied weakly, “just… thinking.”
“About your father?”
“He pops up from time to time. It hurts, knowing he's gone.”
“I don't understand, but…” Saturn stopped and didn't continue. I didn't know if I wanted him to continue or not, but I wanted to hear his voice. It was a simple pleasure, hearing him and knowing he was there, just like holding his hand. “I just want you to be okay.”
“Saturn, when this is all over… I want to come with you.”
Saturn gave me a surprised look. “What do you mean, come with me? Where would I go?”
“I just don't have anything here,” I clarified, “I won't inherit the farm, I won't marry, and I refuse to be a burden on what's left of my family for the rest of my life.” I looked down as we walked, squeezing his hand tighter, “When we first met, you mentioned that I should have looked for a man who would provide me with the kind of life I wanted, and I know what that life is now. I want a life with you.”
Saturn's face turned red. “W-what do you mean?”
“Saturn, you're hard headed and stubborn, but you're also wise and incredibly interesting,” I explained, “And I want to go out, do things with you, and help you in any way I can. You… enamor me.” I blushed under my fur as I spoke, “And I just don't want this to end even though we've only really known each other for a few days. With everything that we've done together, I feel like I've known you for years. Finding that facility you were in felt like a lifetime ago.”
Saturn seemed to be thinking deeply about my confession, and with every passing second I became more and more terrified that he wouldn't feel the same way, like he only saw me as an acquaintance. I'd never been smitten with someone before, or maybe smitten wasn't the right word, but I know that I felt something for him. Something more than simple friendship.
“And what about my species? Doesn't it bother you that I'm hairless, or thin, or anything else about my biology? I'm not a Sho-dai, Thiva, we can't even have children,” Saturn did stutter a bit at that last statement, as if he wasn't even sure it was the truth, “I'm not a Sho-dai, doesn't that bother you?”
“No,” I said simply, “I've never been attracted to my own kind like that, or anyone really, not for a long time. The Sho-dai have this horrible obsession with getting married now and getting to know your spouse later, but I have an incredibly hard time appreciating how people look if I don't know them first. I look at a lot of Sho-dai men and think that they're pigs, with how they treat the opposite gender like they're some prize to be won, or commodities to be purchased” I lamented, and I realized I was venting some very personal frustrations I had kept pent up since as long as I could remember, “and I've only ever been interested in the exact opposite. I like people like you: you're humble and you think of other people's needs first, not braggadocious or vain.”
“I never knew…”
“I've never shared this with anyone, not even my parents,” I admitted, “not even when me and my father had been fighting almost every day. I figured that I'd make it worse.” I blinked tears out of my eyes, “I told you I had never been attracted to Sho-dai, but there was one… outsider, by the spirits I hate that word so much. He was part of one of the Zephre caravans. They were tall and lean, and natural tricksters. One was a performer and knife juggler named Arpita, I had gotten very close to. He would tell me stories about the constellations and legends about the gods his people worshiped, about the astral giants that moved the moons and the great molder of men whose dust from his divine pottery wheel formed into the deserts. I grew to love him because he saw me as a person.”
“And your parents didn't approve?”
“I stopped seeing him because the Sho-dai thought him suspicious: we always wanted what the Zephre had to offer, but we never wanted to treat them like equals. Arpita… he was my first. I kissed him under the moonlight when his caravan and their herds visited our city for the last time. A fight broke out, his particular culture of Zephre were accused of stealing, whoring, and selling contraband, and were barred from the city until further notice. I vowed to never marry after that, as this little act of meaningless rebellion that only meant anything to me.”
“So, Saturn,” I continued, “what you are doesn't matter to me, only who you are.”
Saturn pulled me close and hugged me, whispering in my ear. “When this is finished, we'll talk more, but you are very important to me, never forget that,” he said, “if I don't make it, I want you to know that… I do feel the same. I just didn't believe it would be right for me to ask.”
“Hey, you two need to hurry up,” the Lord Commander shouted back to us before turning to our destination, a gigantic, multi-story tent held up by many metal pegs jammed into the walls and a single, giant tree in the center that held it up like a post. The tree had big, black leaves and bark the color of charcoal, as if it was burnt, but the leaves swayed in the wind and looked healthy. “Also, if you two are going to be affectionate then do it in private; I don't give a shit, but we're already getting enough dirty looks from you holding Lokran’s old weapon. We're here anyway.”
Saturn gave the Lord Commander an annoyed look, but rolled his eyes and stepped forward. “What's inside?”
“Someone who can help us, if you can convince them to help, that is.”

2024.04.26 01:21 Craigrr7 How to become immortal: A guide for non-degenerates.

This is a guide on how to become immortal in the Sucker For Love universe. It includes my barely remembered knowledge from watching MBH play First Date, and my fresh knowledge of an actual playthrough of A Date to Die For. I had ideas of this sort of strategy before when I first watched the playthrough for First Date, and Mr. Buck Bumble inspired me to transcribe my thoughts, as he is a good example. But Buck had to do a lot of things to achieve his eternity, some of which people may consider a hassle. We aren't gonna go through all that shit.
I'm gonna tell you how to achieve immortality, and you don't even need a stupid ritual to do it.
While we are here, gotta say, based as fuck pairing an asexual with the literal goddess of fertility, we stan. Unfortunately she is of infernal flesh (a furry) which means I cannot legally respect it, also I hate gods anyway so I wouldn't have liked her based on standards alone. Those 'enlightened' shitheads need to learn respect for those they see as lesser, just cause humans are small and scrunkly doesn't mean they aren't of value.
We invented bathrooms. Gods would still be shitting in the woods if it weren't for us. Fucking humble yourself.

Prelude: Why?

Now, what you may be asking me is this: Why would I want to be immortal? After all, having infinite time on your hands would suck especially when you run out of things to do. Just an endless suffering, inevitable given time.
You are stupid.
Do you know how many books you could read? Fucking all of them! With eternity on your side you can read the entire library of Babylon, and still have time for pottery. You can master every skill, go to every place, live every life, watch The Lego Movie. With immortality you can watch the greatest movie of your time, and be there to watch the next generation of artists make the greatest movie of their time. The inherent time limit on life is a flaw that has still yet to be rectified, and it is up to us to solve it. There is just as many things you can do in life as there are seconds in your new immortal one. Hell you can even do nothing. You can be conscious to enjoy blissful empty, and have all the time in the ever to change your mind. The only limit is your imagination. The universe literally restarts by at least a small degree every time the dream begins anew. Get into politics, do one run where you are the good, and another where you are the evil. Life, history, and time dawns at your fingertips.
Like I said, you are stupid. And I'm here to help.
There are 2 types of Immortality in the Sucker For Love universe that I have dubbed "Immortality through body" and "Immortality through being". Buc-ee's should be very familiar with the form we are going to talk about first.

Immortality Through Body: I'm Fucking Invincible!

Buck achieved immortality through performing a ritual accidentally. I have no fucking clue how, since it says it needs at least 1000 rotblooms inside of a single room if you don't have a greater rotbloom present, but to be fair I don't understand how rotblooms work anyways. This is actually the harder out of the two strategies, as it requires you to complete previous rituals, and it also needs you to have some repertoire with the god of your choosing, as they seem pretty monogamous (based) for the most part (ignore that they fucked siblings).
On top of that, it requires kissing a god. On the lips. This is unacceptable in its own right, as me personally I would never degrade myself to kissing a tainted being. The trend of these gods appear to be that they share animal qualities. Like, 4 out of the 5 we've seen are literal furries. Miss me with that bullshit. I wonder if you were to cut their face off and eat it, if it would count as there will still technically be lip-to-lip contact. Something to try in the next game I guess.
So, Immortality Through Body is not only hard, but tedious, and requires you to lose your dignity. This is stupid and dumb and icky and gross. Take this path if you wish, but know that you are purposefully making things harder for yourself then they need to be. We have better alternatives. We have paths that can take us beyond. We have... the protagonist of First date.

Immortality Through Being: Nightmare Fueled

I admittedly don't understand how the whole "Dreaming the universe" things work. Do all of them dream the same universe? Do they all dream separate universes? If they share universes, then one waking up shouldn't end everything, but if they dream separate universes then how does Nyanlathotep and the rest of her gaggle of shitters show up on the same dream? However confusing/unexplained, the basic idea is still the same and any version will work with this strategy.
The protagonist of First Date is a loser. For one, he sacrificed the whole world for a kiss. From a furry. Several times. While I am glad he has gone no further, he could have and reasonably would have. I hold great respect for the protagonist of First Date (I will refer to him from now on as PFD for brevity) despite his degeneracy, since due to his peculiar brain chemistry he has achieved Immortality Through Being.
PFD from GO carried himself with a confusing aura, immediately capturing LN'eta's attention. The natural reaction to encountering something strange is to mull over it in your mind. Anything that PFD could have done at that point would have him worm only deeper into her head. He then went further with it, not only becoming unforgettable to LN'eta, but also Estir and Nyanlathotep. Since these are eldritch gods, being memorable is very important to maintaining your position in reality. Motherfucker kissed an entire fucking planet! Like, not a metaphorical planet, a literal actual planet. You don't forget that type of thing. If you are able to make yourself memorable to a degree where you will be thought about at the very least once a day, then you will be part of this world guaranteed. Buck, if he wasn't already immortal, would have also achieved this. Buck became so traumatizing to Rhok'zan that she actively dreaded his existence. If Buck kept going he would have been able to sneak himself into other's dreams too, spreading himself like a virus.
Its all a mental thing, this universe. If gods know you exist, you will exist. In every iteration, in every possible world. This is the end goal we seek. We don't want to wake up the sleeper. That is pointless, as the same way the gods can go back to sleep and the universe restarts, it is likely it too can just go bedy bye and everything returns to the status quo. We want to be known by it. By everyone. Every single last god. And all we need is the first domino to fall.

Part 1: Pick a Card, Any Card

The first thing you need to do is somehow come to knowledge of the eldritch powers behind reality. Sounds easy, right? Well, its actually harder then you would think. There are 7 billion people on the planet and barely any of them know, so your odds aren't very high. There are 2 options. 1, see if Muu sends you a book. If your life is boring or interesting enough, she might send one to you. Shipping tropes kind of focus on both sides of the bell curve. When you picture who someone that makes eldritch smut is as a person, she is that. That type of person just constantly printing books of various gods will likely end up giving you one for shits and giggles. Now, this does technically involve spells, so if you don't mind voiding the run like this it is an avenue you can take.
The other option is to raid local cults (like the Church of Scientology) to see if they have already summoned a god for themselves. There's so many, its not unlikely that at least one will have a god caged up somewhere. Preferably you want a sensitive, chatty god, but beggars cant be choosers. We will have the rest eventually.

Part 2: First Impressions

Now that you have your god, you just have to do something they will never forget. Treat it like a talent show, except you are actually trying to bomb so hard it will be told for generations this time. Bring objects. Its not very likely the God of Fear and Hunger has seen someone covered in peanut butter holding a traffic cone stare silently into their eyes. I guess you can try to do the whole gaslight gatekeep girlboss business that PFD did with Ln'eta, but kissing gods/furries really should be out of the question. These gods have barely seen anyone, despite the age of the universes, so pretty much anything you do will be noteworthy.
However... there is something you can do to almost guarantee it.
Pain is a language every creature speaks. Something everyone listens to when spoken. Stab them with knives. Several times if possible. In the kidneys, across the throat, in the eyes, somewhere that is the most likely to hurt. Even if you are killed in the process, even if you don't make it close enough to hit them, you have already won. Violent tendencies are very memorable. Maybe they remember you for the slight prick they felt when your knife pierced their body. Maybe they remembered you for your hubris in thinking you could kill a god. It matters not.
You will be back, one way or the other.

Part 3: Returnal

In this universe, when you come into contact with a god or its artifacts after a previous interaction, you regain some of or all memories. This is how PFD and PDDF (protagonist of Date to Die For) are able to maintain memories of previous lives, and also how the plot is able to continue. Pretty sure this makes every ending cannon, even in FD. The Thousand in DDF didn't remember things, but that's likely because they weren't memorable (asexual) enough to have gained that ability. Now, usually the process of contacting gods ends up destroying the world anyway, but this can be to our advantage. The universe that is recreated appears to be close to exactly the same as the one that came before it. All the events that led up to you meeting that god will happen the exact same way, and even if it doesn't all it takes is a glimpse in order to bring your mind back.
You are right back at that same moment, in front of the same god. Do the same thing as before, something different, get to know each other more, destroy the relationship, anything. Now you have become routine. Your little antics have been something they expect. Expectation means anticipation, and anticipation means active thought. A nigh incomprehensible amount of time will pass as the world experiences constant birth and rebirth. You don't even have to be the one to end the dream, your position in it is already guaranteed. While the time difference may be perceptible to the god, it isn't to you. You get the grace of the same mind, the same immortality, without the hassle of waiting in the abyss like a goober. You can stop here, happy with your secured existence and knowledge in this universe. It may be flawed, not all knowledge passes over between iterations. Perhaps this is of some solace to you, being able to be constantly entertained learning the same things over and over again.
You can still go further.
Time yields experience. A constant dance between you and the god. You learn where it hurts the most, how it fights back, if you can even fight back. At this point you need to break the routine. Do something different. Take a different entrance, keep yourself hidden. Hit them when they don't know you are even in the room. It doesn't matter if they hate you, it doesn't matter if they love you, as long as they are aware of you to a strong enough degree you will always be back, and you will always be prepared for the next time. Perhaps eons pass. Still in this eternal conflict, fighting what appears to be haplessly against a force greater than you. They think your the fool, but they are too arrogant to realize the full plan. Even if they did, how could they stop you.
Or, y'know, you can still be a cuck for them and use the power of friendship.

Part 4: Conquest

If this is a talkative god then they may tell their little friends about your existence. Funny little guy with a feeble blade that always tries in vain to fell them (if you are doing the cool route). Its entertaining enough for them to tolerate the story for a bit. And like that you multiply. Your existence, your nature, spread like ivy across the family tree. You don't have to do anything funny, you don't have to fall in love, you don't have to fell a god, you don't have to do anything, you just have to be worth talking about. I mean, it's implied that Ln'eta came up with PFD due to Rhok'zan talking about how sexy humans were or some shit. A god being willing to talk about their dreams like an asshole isn't required for the process, it just makes it faster. Given infinity, something is gonna slip at some point.
If they aren't willing to talk about you, however, there are ways you can speed up the process.
Buck had the right idea. Screaming is involuntary, a reflex to the horrors that one may experience. If a god wont speak then you will make them. You just gotta get it right. The ease of this is dependent on the god you found. A god like Rhok'zan would be easiest, as she physically couldn't bring herself to hurt people. This leaves you open to doing whatever you feel is required to get a reaction. Think CIA torture techniques. The god's feelings of horror and pain will only enhance who you are in their dreams, a monster that desires only for their suffering. This type of image is optimal for achieving maximum fear. Batman is scary to criminals because he will beat your ass in the dead of night. You will be scary, because you cannot be stopped. It will be a long and arduous task. But given infinity...
Imagine how terrifying it may be, seeing yourself as some untouchable god, only to be awoken from the grand dream by the screams of another god. The implications of such an event would quickly spread across the collective, and their curiosity will only bring them closer to the source. Given infinity, anything is possible. A single stone may fell a great wall if tossed enough times. This is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. Their pain is your power. Even if Nyanlathotep cockblocks your crusade like she tried PFD and Buck, you are still immortal. Infinity may put you in the box, but it can also take you out. Unbreakable curses are only unbreakable since they haven't been broken before. You have all the time in the ever. Even then, you are still in her head, and so many others. You may not be able to truly die anymore, and there will always be the chance to spread. Given infinity...
Do you see what people are? What people can be? In this world, life is defined by the minds of higher powers, but as much as that can be an incredibly horrible curse that drives men mad, there are still lemons to be made. Given infinity...
Humans in this world can become actual cognitohazards. Forbidden concepts spreading like wildfire when the opportunity arises. Pawns one day, demons or lovers the next. The potential of humanity expands past our own civilization. Humanity may be intrinsically tied to the dream, but so are the gods. While they always exist, so do we. They cannot stop us. They may try, but given infinity...

Part 5: Ascension

There really is only one thing left to achieve after all this. You're known by every god, hopefully feared too. All except one. See, logically speaking, The Sleeper is just another god, one tier higher than the others. Their influence is intrinsic to the cosmic gods' universe. It dreams up the gods, the gods dream up us, something even grander probably dreams The Sleeper. And they can see us. We just gotta get their attention.
The screaming route is probably the easiest. How many of y'all wake up just when the nightmare gets scary or a noise gets loud? Fear and pain coalesce into a cacophony that can be heard from the outer reaches of the universe. If the Sleeper is able to remember the gods we know, then having those same gods talking about us enough can catch it's attention. We gotta become intrinsic to everyone's lives in some way. Bad publicity is loud but it doesn't last long. Good publicity is slow but builds up. Whatever route you take is up to you.
If the sleeper wakes up and reality ends forever, then you can rest easily knowing that you have won life. However, if it does fall back asleep, and it knows of your existence... There is the tiniest chance you may be reborn alongside the gods. Ascension was the true goal. Through the same means that you used to achieve permanence in their worlds, you can achieve permanence in The Sleeper's. It's not necessarily the same "you" that started the journey, but those you's have been dead since ever. If you want to contemplate what you are and if you are even the same person at the end of it all, you would be stupid, but you would also have all the time in the ever to do so. You can also use that time to watch The Lego Movie and learn pottery, which is sick.
Your concept can in some way live among the rest, and you are the only one that actually earned your position. What you become is decided by what you made yourself out to be. Whether you are a monster or a lover, you still used others to achieve this victory. But you won. You achieved the grandest thing anyone in your position could strive for. And you'll get to do it again, and again, and again.
All of this may seem improbable. You have to assume that out of the many times things can go wrong, they wont go wrong. But you aren't seeing the full picture. Your are still stupid. Let me help you with that.
There is something that comes into play even before you begin your crusade.

Part 0: Entropy

There's a funny thing with the concept of infinity. Infinite time means infinite opportunity. Opportunities that didn't exist before exist now, and never, and forever, and later, and soon. Say you fuck it up and are forgotten. Say you are banished to the point that you could never come back. Say that you lived the rest of your life never finding what you seek, missing your chance at divinity. It will come again. It always comes again.
Another you, another them, time brings you all together. An infinite conflict of infinite pain and infinite strife and infinite desire. Around and around the wheel we go, in this perpetual game of life. The gods have their day now, but ours will come too. Given infinity, everyone has a turn.
Maybe you aren't the type of person to torture gods for to your own ends, but you could be. In one time you are a soft soyboy cuck existing to simp for Ln'eta. Another, you will be the chad Buck, becoming skeleton and assaulting women. The dice will roll in your favor soon enough.
Given infinity, you will always become immortal. Infinity will give you godhood, infinity will take it away, and infinity will return it to your clutches.
Its only a matter of time.

Epilogue

I'm obviously not a lore expert. There is a chance that the devs end up Nuh-uhing me in the next game, or on this post if I'm lucky. There could also be some piece of information I forgot that completely invalidates this, and that'd be it. But ever since I saw PFD fumble his way into immortality I have had this thought in my head. Honestly the way the stories in these games are going with indomitable human spirit(lust) and the question of how genuine the affection of these gods actually is, it is likely something to this extent is going to be attempted by an antagonist, or even better a protagonist.
Also, while we are here, what the fuck devs? You got the whole dictionary of eldritch beings throughout history to choose from, and they all look like big tiddy milf furries. And yes, since Muu had to ask, they are furries. Monstergirls are defined as having animal traits roughly stitched to random limbs, while with furries the qualities are more blended across the whole body. This is not accreate to Lovercraft's vision! If anything these things should be looking more like Muu, being a confusing mass of organs and skin. Offense definitely intended. I hate her and her books. No I will not stop reading them. If I'm not dating a character that looks like The Master from Fallout in the next game then I am boycotting this company. Smhing my h.
TLDR: Fuck you I'm not summarizing. To those who actually did read all this shit, how do you feel having wasted your time reading a fan theory on the interwebs? Immortality isn't possible in real life and you decided to spend your limited time alive reading this post. I appreciate the time you spent reading my bullfuck, but really, go read House Of Leaves or some shit, it would've been a better use of your time. I should read House of Leaves or some shit... I refuse to grammar check this post.
Take care of yourselves and don't get sexually harassed by thicced up gods in the meantime. That shit fucks up and kills you. XOXO

2024.04.23 22:54 Current_Werewolf_991 Art groups for people in 30s?

My social life has changed since I’ve reached my 30s. I am wanting to try to find hobbies to gradually get to know people.
I am struggling to find an art group - I wouldn’t mind a course, or a painting class. However when I find things like this it seems it is mainly for people who have retired, not people in their 30s
There are life drawing class, which I have been to a few, but I’ve found it boring after a while. I can see the odd painting class/pottery thing but these are one offs. I just want to find a group where I can naturally build friendships rather than going to a meet up and feeling the pressure to do that in one evening

2024.04.22 17:56 HovercraftCultural79 How can I make my (88M) companion understand that I (28M) do not want an intimate relationship with him?

I’m (28F) and I met an (88M) at the community center taking a pottery class. I would always talk to him and when he asked to exchange emails, I didn’t see anything wrong with that.
He is 88 and harmless, his wife passed two years ago so I understood how he needed companionship and he doesn’t really have family. He has a couple of friends from the community center but lives alone with not even pets.
I was concerned about his well being and I wanted to do what I can to help him out.
One day he asked me to dinner and I went. We had a great time. That’s when he asked what would my friends think about me dating a white man? lol (I am a POC) and I laughed telling him they would be more shocked that I am dating an 88 year old man. The next day he had a stroke and I went to the hospital and stayed for hours. I told him I would be willing to help him out as much as possible: Cook dinner, tend to his garden, help him with shopping and just checking on him. All of this just as a good person…again he is an EIGHTY EIGHT year old man and I am 60 years younger than him so I did not think he would ever try anything or get the wrong message.
He persisted with his thoughts and attraction towards me saying that I was very beautiful but he can understand that we should just be friends. I explained to him that I was not attracted to him at all, I am just genuinely interested in his safety. He even tried to give me money (“no strings attached “ so he says) and I told him that I was doing this from my heart. Besides after he expressed his feelings of attraction towards me, I didn’t think it was a good idea to accept money from him.
Sometimes I would give him a hug or hold his hand (and more like use my arm to balance him) to help him balance when went out in public. I felt like I really set a boundary of friendship. I even emailed him multiple times reminding him that we are strictly platonic.
I thought he understood that we are FRIENDS. until yesterday, On 4/20 I went out with friends and I slept over my friend’s house who happens to be a man. When I told (88M) about this he became agitated asking if I slept with my friend? I told him Not at all, but if I did how would that be his business? He’s like well because we are dating and I told him that we are not dating we are just friends. This man had the audacity to say “Well I’m a man and I desire sex with you”. I can’t believe this crept keeper thinks he can actually have sex with me. I ended up picking his little body up off the floor because he was on his knees crying about being in love with me. Mind you I’ve only known him since the beginning of April.
I think I should go no contact with him for this but I also sympathize with his loneliness and think he was just not used to getting attention from an attractive woman that just wants to be his friend. Can anyone give me advice on how I could continue to try to provide companionship to this person without giving him any mixed signals?
UPDATE: Went no contact with him and he tried to come into my job and claim I manipulated him. LOL

2024.04.21 00:11 CapitalGaurd Living Alone In Seoul for 8 Weeks. Tips for making fast friends/ activities for solo travelers to be social?

I'll be going to Seoul for 8 weeks this summer, and I have no plans except for an internship in Gangnam on the weekdays. I'm living in a single at a hostel near Dangsan station. I'm a female traveler, and I want to try the hikes and go on food tours; I also want to see if I can sign up for like a weekly pottery class or something fun that I learn something new. My conversational skills in Korean are sub-par, but I want to make friends and have people to hang out with (I don't want to just rely on my workplace); but I've never traveled solo before so I'm not used to making fast friends. TBH I'm not a big night bar goer either, so I'm not really relying on itaewon or hongdae for nightlife/ social life.
When making friends abroad, I always feel it's a fine line between burdening the other person with an expectation of friendship vs just taking that risk to ask a stranger to hang out and having a great time. Anyone who has advice for making friends in Seoul I'd love to know! Or really just anything to make the most of living abroad for 8 weeks.

Engaging in Creative Arts
Creative arts activities at summer camps provide children with opportunities to explore various forms of artistic expression, nurturing creativity and imagination. These activities encompass a wide range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, performing arts, craft workshops, storytelling, and creative writing.
Ø Drawing and Painting: Children engage in drawing and painting activities, allowing them to express themselves visually and develop their artistic skills. They learn to work collaboratively with others, develop confidence in their abilities, and express themselves in front of an audience. Performing arts activities often include acting exercises, dance routines, musical performances, and improvisation games, providing children with opportunities to showcase their talents and creativity.

From pottery and sculpture to jewellery-making and paper crafts, children explore their creativity while learning new skills and techniques. Craft activities often incorporate recycled materials or natural elements, encouraging children to think creatively and sustainably while expressing themselves artistically.

Storytelling sessions may include traditional folktales, personal anecdotes, or collaborative storytelling exercises, encouraging children to explore their imagination and creativity in a supportive and engaging environment.
Ø Creative Writing: Writing exercises and storytelling workshops help children hone their writing skills and unlock their imaginations through storytelling and poetry. They learn to craft compelling narratives, develop descriptive language, and express their thoughts and emotions through writing. Creative writing activities may include journaling, poetry writing, short story contests, or collaborative storytelling projects, providing children with opportunities to explore their creativity and develop their unique voice as writers.
Conclusion: Engaging in creative arts activities at summer camps enables children to explore various forms of artistic expression, develop new skills, and unlock their imaginations in a supportive and encouraging environment. These activities promote self-expression, creativity, and confidence while nurturing a love for the arts and lifelong creative pursuits.

These activities take advantage of the natural environment, encouraging children to explore, discover, and challenge themselves in the great outdoors.
Ø Nature Exploration: Guided nature walks, scavenger hunts, and wilderness excursions allow children to explore the natural world and learn about local flora and fauna. They develop an appreciation for the environment, gain knowledge about ecosystems, and nurture a sense of stewardship towards nature. They face physical and mental challenges that require problem-solving, teamwork, and determination, building confidence and self-esteem in the process. Adventure challenges promote risk-taking in a safe and controlled environment, nurturing a growth mindset and a willingness to embrace new experiences and challenges.

  • Visit Tallahassee (old Amtrak Station): Understanding the LGBTQ History of Tallahassee. What would a queer history of Tallahassee look like? What are the most important developments in the writing of queer and LGBT history, and how can they be applied to interpreting the queer experience in Tallahassee over the past 200 years? One of the first academic authors of gay and lesbian history earned his PhD at Florida State in the early 1970s and taught some of the first university courses on LGBT history and culture in the nation on the Florida State campus. Why isn’t this story better known, and how can we build on this legacy? How can theory help ensure that we write histories that acknowledge the centrality of race, class, gender, and gender identity, while also always foregrounding issues of political power, labor, coercion, and class? Theory is not about making what is simple obscure, but instead about helping us to see mechanisms at work, and lives lived, that may have left only faint traces in the archive, rounding out and completing the evidence that has survived in greater abundance. Title: The Transformative Experience of Overnight Camps: Building Independence, Resilience, and Lifelong Memories
📷
Introduction:
Overnight camps offer a unique and transformative experience for children and adolescents. Far from the routine of home and school, these camps provide a structured yet adventurous environment where campers can explore nature, develop new skills, and form lasting friendships. In this article, we delve into the various aspects of overnight camps, highlighting their benefits, activities, and the profound impact they can have on young individuals.
Benefits of Overnight Camps:
Building Independence:
One of the most significant benefits of overnight camps is the opportunity for campers to develop independence. Away from the familiar comforts of home, they learn to navigate new surroundings, make decisions, and solve problems on their own. This sense of independence fosters self-confidence and prepares campers for future challenges.
Fostering Resilience:
Overnight camps often present campers with various challenges, from conquering a high ropes course to sleeping under the stars. Through these experiences, campers learn resilience - the ability to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to new situations. Overcoming obstacles at camp teaches valuable life lessons that extend far beyond the campfire.
Forming Lifelong Friendships:
Shared experiences create strong bonds, and overnight camps are no exception. Campers from diverse backgrounds come together, forming friendships that can last a lifetime. Whether collaborating on a team-building activity or sharing stories around the campfire, campers learn the value of friendship and camaraderie.
Activities at Overnight Camps:
Outdoor Adventures: From hiking and canoeing to rock climbing and zip-lining, overnight camps offer a plethora of outdoor adventures. These activities not only provide physical exercise but also instill a love for nature and the outdoors.
Creative Arts: Many overnight camps incorporate creative arts such as painting, pottery, music, and theater into their programs. Campers have the opportunity to explore their artistic talents in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Sports and Recreation: Sports and recreational activities are a staple of overnight camps, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness. Whether playing soccer on the field or swimming in the lake, campers develop essential skills while having fun.
📷
Impact of Overnight Camps:
The impact of overnight camps extends far beyond the duration of the summer. Campers return home with newfound confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. They carry with them cherished memories of campfires, sing-alongs, and starry nights. Moreover, the skills and values learned at camp - independence, teamwork, and creativity - shape their character and contribute to their personal growth.
Conclusion:
Overnight camps offer a transformative experience that enriches the lives of young individuals. Through outdoor adventures, creative arts, and meaningful friendships, campers develop essential life skills and create lasting memories. As they navigate the challenges of camp, they discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and emerge as more confident and resilient individuals. 2024.04.12 15:12 anonymous_moongirl Looking to meet new people, make friends.

Hi, 29F. I have been in paris since 2 years, couldn't really make friends to hang out with because of my poor French language. If you want to do some creative activities in paris like watch movies, go for drinks in the bar, do pottery workshops, learn dance together anything which makes us happy and comfortable together. Let me know. (It's fine if it's just a chill out evening near the river with a beer too 😉) A great talk can lead to a good friendship.

2024.04.10 22:06 pineapple_leaf I like a guy in a relationship and I feel really guilty

There is this guy I've known for about 2 years now. About one year ago we started to know eachother better and I started developing a bit of a crush on him. As time went on we became closer friends and I thought there might be a possibility for something. One day (in December 2023) he finally asked me out for coffee and while being there he mentioned his girlfriend (I had thought he was single because he had only talked about an ex before) at that point I understood he only saw me as a friend, and it is still flattering that he just enjoys spending time with me so much with no ulterior motive, but it does confuse me why he doesn't spend that time with his girlfriend.
Since then we have only become closer, we've gone painting and done pottery together, and we do sports at the same sports center and I try to ignore him but he comes where I am to kinda banter with me, and I also catch him looking at me constantly. He bikes and until recently I walked, and he would often offer to walk with me even if it was in a route inconvenient to him. And I know he's doing it out of friendship so I feel guilty to be projecting my feelings onto this. And I feel like an asshole that he likes me as a friend and I'm here feeling like friendship isn't good enough when I have always put more value in my friendships than in my relationships.
As I've gotten to know him better I've also gotten to know more about his relationship, him and his girlfriend live together and have been together for a long time. Also, after one of our outings (which he organized) she, who I've never met, requested to follow me on isntagram, I don't even have him on Instagram because he doesn't really use social media. I concluded either she heard about me and thought I was cool and wanted to follow me, or she felt insecure and decided to follow me to check on my private life. If it is the second one, I don't blame her, because we see eachtoher around 4 days of the week, to do different activities, go to coffee, etc, and I would feel insecure if I were in her shoes. I ofcourse accepted her request so she would have some peace of mind that she has nothing to worry about.
I don't plan on making a move on him ever for many reasons. Out of respect for his girlfriend, first of all, I don't want to be the b tch that ruined her long term relationship. And also because I'm 100% sure my feelings aren't reciprocated so I see no point in ruining this friendship.
But every time I tell myself I'm getting over him, we see eachother again and I feel happy and then I feel guilty that I'm harboring these feelings. I don't get crushes easily so it's not easy for me to just meet someone else, and we spend time together frequently enough that it's not enough for the feelings to go away with distance. I feel really guilty about feeling this way but my only consolation is that I know I won't act on it, so I can tell myself I'm doing nothing wrong.
