hester and cassandra have been my friends since middle school. over the years i feel like our friendship has gotten increasingly more toxic. two main events i point this to are 1. when they admitted to talking shit about me and 2. when they both forgot my birthday. i was on a call with them a while back and hester admitted to me that cassandra talks shit about me. i got mad so i told cass that hester talks shit about her to me. hester replied with "i talk shit about everyone". im not going to act innocent ive also talked shit about cass behind her back. over the years cass has changed a lot she used to be super energetic and now barely replies and if she does its a rlly dry msg like "k" and "coolio". next on my bday cass called me and she didn't mention it at all so i hung up on her when she asked to me keep talking with her. later that night i called them out and hester apologized but cass didn't. since then i haven't received a single happy bday from cass these past 3 years. i continue to wish her happy bday anyways. hester is a better friend than cass but i dont think that says a lot. i got into a relationship with her guy friend that ended badly. she took my side and stopped following him. i found out later that she readded him. ik their friends but this guy was genuinely a shitty person (racist). so i dont like the fact that she continues to associate with someone like him. ive grown a lot from the person i used to be when i first met them. but when i hang with them it just feels like we're being mean and bitchy to each other and i dont like that environment anymore. im closer with hester, we've bonded a lot, and she's been a good friend. but there are things she's done that i don't like. any advice?

2024.06.10 01:05 HaxRus PSA for people living in the Whyte Ave area who use the shortcut through the train yard by MKT- They are giving out $600 fines to people crossing through (the already existing holes) now.
 | So there is (or was) an incredibly useful shortcut that has existed through the massive old train yard that divides the areas south of Whyte ave in half. It’s been there and easily accessible since long before I lived here so at least 5-6 years. It was essentially just two big holes in the fence along the most narrow point in the yard (circled in the image above) that led from the MKT parking lot to the other side of the train yard and through to 102 St, thereby eliminating the need to walk all the way around the entire block just to get back into that neighbourhood from the grocery shops on the other side of Gateway. The whole area is super pedestrian heavy and basically everyone I know in the neighborhood knows about it and uses it. submitted by HaxRus to Edmonton [link] [comments] I’m not going to get into the ethics of right and wrong here, it’s technically private property that the shortcut leads through and someone at some point is vandalizing the fences to make the path in the first place, but it had existed for years without any issues and now suddenly they are aggressively closing it up and guarding it…. which is how I know they are now stationed in there and handing out $600 fines to anyone who as much as pops in without even a warning first, which to me is downright ludicrous. Now I know this might catch some flak online, but I will go as far as to admit that I actually think some cops are cool and good at their jobs and making appropriate judgement calls based on situational context. I’ve dealt with them plenty in my line of work (nightlife) and as long as you treat them with mutual respect they tend to be alright overall… And yet, unfortunately I seem to have crossed paths with one who is the very polar opposite of that skill set, which is most likely why he got stuck on shortcut patrol in the first place. So in summary, the cop stationed there is an asshole, don’t use that path, it’s not worth it. $600 is absolutely insane so I will personally be fighting it, especially since he didn’t even bother to give me any sort of kindly warning or any single other shred of good faith, just immediately pounced and gave me some line about cleanup costs, and I don’t want anyone else to suffer the same mistake. Oh, and the icing on the cake? He still let me go out through the other side of the shortcut after hitting me with the nice $600 fine. |

It is the nearest Church to the Chapel of Anticipation, geographically. There is a Sacred Tear Chalice found at this church. Thops is met here and he is seated below the left hand of the Marika Statue. Continuing past the tree and into the distant horizon, the entry to this church is also aligned with the "Guest Hall" of Volcano Manor on Mt. Like a similar principle to real churches, where sometimes you get a Church of Christ the King and sometimes a Church of the Redeemer. "Irith" as a complete word string may be a conjugation of the Welsh word "iro" meaning "to anoint" or "to oil" in the singular future third person as in "one who will be anointed". Or perhaps "one who will be oiled" in preparation for being set on fire. In Hebrew, Irith is a variant of "Irit" meaning asphodel (the flower). In Greek myth, Asphodel Meadows is the place for the souls of people who led mediocre lives. Amusingly, this is the church where Thops is met, and he laments his bluntstone mediocrity. The first 3 letters of "Irith" match those of "Irina", and indeed Hyetta's first location after the death of Irina is visible from this church. The word string "iri" has many meanings, but the one I find most appropriate to highlight is the Yoruba word ìrí meaning "the act of seeing, sighting, or discovering", as previously I have noted that the "Ori-" in "Oridys" is of Yoruba origin. The "-th" in this case is just a modifier that makes nouns of verbs of action. So to simplify this could be called the "Church of Sight and Discovery", which again has relevance to Thops - he is the only person from which the Starlight sorcery can be learned and this is used to provide sight in dark places. Splitting into "I" and "Rith" there is some meaning to be found. Since the 3 definitions I find for rith are English, Irish, and Welsh in originit seems reasonable that "i"/"me" applies to the first syllable. The English meaning is "a small stream", the Irish meaning is "to run", and the Welsh is a mutation of "rhith" meaning "form, guise, disguise, or illusion". So in this context Irith represents a small stream that runs and adopts an illusory disguise while doing so. With the context of this Church being just outside the throne room of Stormveil Castle, this calls to mind the story related by Kenneth Haight where Godrick fled the Capital disguised as a woman. And the illusion functionality of the "Marika's Veil" item that he also took from the Capital during this flight. Examining the Japanese in Romanized phonetics - イリス, "Irisu" - shows that half of the previously mentioned meanings for Irith are obfuscated by the translation. Instead the etymology document by The_RedScholar notes that it is implied to be the "Church of Iris", which could refer to the flower, the goddess of the rainbow, or again a part of the eye. Personally, I have some opinions about how the progressive colours of the rainbow are the basis for the magic system used in the Lands Between through the intermediary of chakras. In short - a spectrum where red spells are most grounded in concepts familiar to physical reality like "blood" or physical meat, orange/scarlett spells are like "biochemistry", yellow spells are learned "reflexes" or "unconscious biases" reinforced by memories stored in amber, green is the one that the game itself is all fucked up about (see: poison swamps) - probably emotions or empathy related, up to blue spells being manifestations of intangible concepts like "communication" and "thought", and purple being even more abstract concepts like "dream" and "cosmos". One more point should be noted regarding the linguistics of Irith, which is the similarity between "Irith" and the "Irithyll" of Dark Souls. Irithyll has been proposed to mean "the time of the moon" from "Ir" + "ithil" as sourced from Tolkein's elvish languages. However in this case the word "ithil" meaning "moon" is truncated, and also the Church of Irith is one of the few places in Liurnia where the moon is NOT ever visible, because it is behind Stormveil from this vantage point. Since Thops is physically present in the Church, his name should be considered as well. The Vietnamese word "thóp" means "fontanelle", which is the weak point on a baby's head. Phonetically, the word "thóp" is pronounced similar to the Japanese romantic version of the name トープス, Tōpusu. Therefore, his name likely means "weak points". This aligns nicely with his character arc in which his greatest achievement is creating the "Thops's Barrier" spell - the purpose of a barrier is to cover weak points. Part 3: Additional Environmental Context Observations of the landscape can be made by climbing the walls. There are 4 total climbing paths at approximately the 4 corners, which can be reached by platforming with Torrent's double jump. Recommended vantage points are provided at the tops of the walls as marked by smooth rectangular platforms sitting at the top of the crumbling walls. This use for the platforms is most clearly demonstrated at Church of Elleh. From the site of grace inside that church, the statue on top of the Fringefolk Hero's grave is directly aligned with the Weeping Peninsula Minor Erdtree. Upon climbing the wall to get a better look at this phenomena, it was noted that a square platform also sits on this alignment. And though I would love to show this alignment with the site of grace on the map, I can't because as it turns out the marked location of this particular site of grace is a lie and it's actually offset by a few metres. Location 1: From the Northwest corner two things can be seen simultaneously: Hyetta is centred directly on the Erdtree and the Liurnia Divine tower is exactly hidden behind a rock spear (one of several scattered across Liurnia with no apparent rhyme or reason - except that in cases like this they obscure objects in the distance). Within the Church itself from this perch the Marika statue is visible framed within a gap in the stonework such that her hands are hidden by stone, and with an optical illusion barrier of stone columns between her and Thops. The Liurnia North Minor Erdtree is approximately in line with the Dectus Lift, with a spur of rock partially covering the trunk. As previously mentioned, the Mt. Much of the surrounding landscape is again blocked by yellow-leaved trees, except that both the Liurnia and Altus West Divine Towers are visible and so is Hyetta. This is also one of the churches with no site of grace in it, although I have noted that even at Churches with a site of grace present there will be certain angles at which it is hidden behind a pillar. I had already picked up the Sacred Tear Chalice and attacked the scarab with the Thops's Barrier ash of war, so I have no data on what angles these are visible from. Next Steps The observations from the Church of Irith provide multiple jumping off points to follow the trail of environmental observation. Jumping back to the nearest site of grace - in front of Lightseeker Hyetta - a few observations can be made. From the Site of Grace, the Marika statue at the Chapel of Anticipation can be seen hovering over the Church of Irith - strengthening the connection between these two locations. Also from the Site of Grace vantage Hyetta is aligned with Raya Lucaria. And Boc is here although he was previously not visible from the Church due to standing behind a bush. From Hyetta's vantage point (and also even to a lesser extent from the site of grace) the dark half of the moon can be seen in the sky, although likely with her weak eyes she would likely not be able to see it since the illuminated crescent is still behind Stormveil. The Church of Irith is clearly visible from the location where the portal drops the player, and so is the Cathedral of Manus Celes. However, there is an odd discrepancy - the position of the Church of Irith is wrong and the corners do not match as if the entire church foundation was rotated to the west around the fixed point of the spire. There is a degree of difficulty scaling depending on map region for sorting through what details to focus on. |

Round trip Cash fare on same days is $962 per person for economy-basic fare. Looking to buy tickets for 2 people in air Canada non stop Yyz-lhr.
when I try to redeem aeroplan pts it says that the cost for 2 passengers is 78,600pts + CAD$ 1,626.54.
So it looks to me like redeeming for this flight is not worth it.
My questions are:

I’m around 500 hours and have been using DS to become fluent enough to speak with my girlfriends family when we visit Peru next year for Christmas.
That’s plenty of time, but now we have been invited to Dominican Republic in August and some of her family will be there. I am thinking of ways to improve my comprehension and speaking ability faster and have the below ideas but I wanted to gather everyone’s thoughts and any advice on the one method being crosstalk.
Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated and would love to hear any stories of those learning Spanish due to significant others!

- I have two italki professors. I speak to each one for one hour each week.
- More podcasts - Any recommendations for these? I prefer people in conversation rather than a single person just speaking. Normally it keeps me more engaged and this goes for DS videos too.
- Crosstalk - I have never used this and am nervous to do so. Can anyone give any advice? If they have filters I can find someone in Peru that wants to learn English and so I talk English while they speak Spanish so we both get CI from each other?
Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated and would love to hear any stories of those learning Spanish due to significant others!

- [COMING_UP] The week ahead... Now that Citicore Renewable Energy [CREC 2.70; unch] has been listed, our market won’t have any scheduled domestic drivers until the BSP’s rate decision on June 27.
PH: Wednesday is a non-trading day, and with as “meh” as the market’s been, I suspect that I’ll be getting more than the usual set of out-of-office replies. AREIT’s Q1 dividend pays out on Thursday, while MREIT’s Q1 dividend pays out on Friday.
International: The US Federal Reserve will make its June interest rate decision overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
- MB: Nobody that I’ve talked to expects the Fed to do anything this meeting, and while I’m obviously going to be interested in the meeting minutes and the chatter around the decision and the analysis of the minutes, that’s basically the same position that we’ve been in for a long time already. The US has a very strong jobs market (and it has for quite some time) and the fear there is that strong demand for jobs will push up wages and provide inflationary risk.
- [UPDATE] Citicore Renewable Energy IPOs to a flat finish... Citicore Renewable Energy Corp [CREC 2.70 unch; 100% avgVol] [link] opened its trading life on the PSE on Friday up 1.8% with the first trades going through at ₱2.75/share. The per-share price ticked down slightly through the day and finished at the intraday low of ₱2.70/share, which was CREC’s IPO offer price. A little over 25 million shares traded hands, which is approximately 1% of the total public float. CREC has a stabilization fund.
- MB: The PSE’s second IPO is in the books! CREC has been raising money like crazy to achieve its ambitious goal of having 5 gigawatts of capacity by 2028; this IPO is only the latest fundraise in a sequence of raises that started in September of last year with the US$100 million financing that it negotiated. CREC continued the spree with a ₱20 billion deal with RCBC [RCB 21.75 ▼0.2%; 68% avgVol] and a surprise sale of ₱5 billion worth of its subsidiary, Citicore Renewable Energy REIT [CREIT 2.82 ▼0.3%; 401% avgVol] to SM Investments [SM 840.00 ▼1.3%; 40% avgVol]. CREC is cashing up to build. CREC’s President, Oliver Tan, said that CREC’s goal is to “become the largest, if not the top three largest power generation companies in the Philippines, not only as a solar developer but also as a power generation company.” So far their actions and words are in alignment.
- [NEWS] Robinsons Land to sell ₱33.9-B of malls and offices to REIT subsidiary... Robinsons Land [RLC 15.74 ▲0.4%; 55% avgVol] [link] disclosed that its board of directors approved a property-for-share swap deal with its REIT subsidiary, RL Commercial REIT [RCR 5.20 ▲0.2%; 56% avgVol], that will send 11 malls and two office towers to RCR in exchange for 4.99 billion shares of RCR at a valuation of ₱33.9 billion. The implied per-share price of RCR in this deal is ₱6.80/share, which is a 30.7% premium over RCR’s Friday closing price. Once complete, the transaction will make RCR the PSE’s largest mall REIT.
- MB: This is an enormous departure from RCR’s office-only strategy to this point, and a welcome one for shareholders considering the troubling performance of the commercial office sector in recent years and the lack of good news for any kind of pickup in the short- or medium-term. RCR hopes to get SEC approval for the transaction in FY24, but the SEC has not been very predictable when it comes to the approval times of these property-for-share swap transactions. Some are quick, while others seem to take an inappropriate amount of time to get approved. This transaction will lead to dividend growth, which (all other things being equal) should lead to RCR share price growth to balance out the yield. RCR is one of the cheapest REITs on the PSE in terms of its distributable income to price multiple.
- [NEWS] NexGen Energy IPO approved by the SEC... NexGen Energy [XGEN] [link] had its ₱500 million IPO registration approved by the SEC. XGEN is a subsidiary of Pure Energy Holdings Corp (PEHC), the energy generation holding company owned by Dexter Tiu that is also the parent company of Repower Energy Development Corp [REDC 5.40 ▲3.9%; 18% avgVol].XGEN operates solar and wind power plants through its subsidiary companies and plans to expand its portfolio to 2.35 gigawatts over the next 10 years. XGEN also plans to get into offshore wind development.
- MB: The prospectus calls for a July 16th IPO, but we won’t know the actual dates until Mr. Tiu drives the application through the PSE’s approval process. Once the PSE approves, we’ll get a Preliminary Terms and Conditions notice from the PSE that will have all the material terms of the deal, including the pricing, offer, and listing dates. It’s still possible for XGEN to make adjustments at each stage along the way, but each hurdle like this SEC approval that XGEN passes increases the certainty of things. I’ll do a deep dive once we get that Preliminary Terms and Conditions notice!
- [NEWS] Ayala Corp appoints Erry Hardianto as CEO of AC Logistics... Ayala Corp [AC 596.50 ▼0.3%; 27% avgVol] [link] announced that will appoint Erry Hardianto as CEO of its subsidiary logistics holding company, AC Logistics (ACL), effective July 1. Mr. Hardianto will come to ACL with over 23 years of experience with Maersk in senior positions across SE Asia. AC said he has “successfully managed, grown, acquired and transformed complex multi-country logistics operations across Asia.”
- MB: I’ve been calling for AC to get serious about logistics for a long time. I think this is just one step of many potential steps that AC could have taken in the right direction, but it’s a logical first step to make. I think it’s interesting that AC made such a big deal about mentioning Mr. Hardianto’s ability to manage, grow, acquire, and transform complex logistics operations. I hope this suggests that they’ve got big plans for this unit that go beyond the tepid organic growth of its logistics interests in AyalaLand Logistics [ALLHC 2.03 ▼1.0%; 59% avgVol]. There are a ton of interesting acquisition targets sitting out there, ready to get rolled up by a deep-pocketed conglomerate with the vision to do so. Lots of conglos have kicked the tires here. Is AC going to be the one to actually do it?

I’m also into movies and tv, some sports, pro wrestling. Collecting boardgames, action figures and retro games are hobbies as well. Anything 80s/90s nostalgia i absolutely love too so if you want to talk childhood memories and growing up back then, i’m totally down! I miss the good old days where we went to arcades, played outside with friends, and those family sunday dinners at the grandparents ❤️.
My kids are everything to me and I do love talking about them. Love being silly with them and spending time with them (when they aren’t driving me crazy lol)
I really would prefer you be around my age (late 20s a youngest) and also have kids just so we have that stuff in common off the bat!
I would also prefer you be from the US. It’s tough to converse when we are like a day apart lol.
I can be socially awkward most times but I am very easy to get along with and a great listener if you need to vent. I’m definitely considered an introvert. But once you get to know me I break out of that awkward shell.

I’ve always wanted to tell my story here because this subreddit is pretty much the sole reason I started crocheting. 7 years ago, every time I would get on Reddit there was a personalized “suggested subreddits” ad and crochet was always on mine with pictures of Sophie’s Universe.
I became obsessed with that blanket and I was absolutely bound and determined to make it. I think the obsession I formed with the blanket was the reason I became so good at crochet so fast. After just 2 months of crocheting I was starting on Sophie and I made it pretty far… but I was still a fucking noob and double knotted and cut my ends as short as possible. By about the 40th row tons of spots started unraveling. I learned my lesson and to this day I have still not reattempted Sophie… but I still feel very drawn to it and feel like it’s something I should do to come full circle with my crocheting.

The first half was masterful, so much intricately connected storytelling and humor.
Unfortunately, by the last ~100 chapters (after Mari breaks out before the the sports festival arc), the author had not put as much thought into it (the art stayed great though).
(He was doing ~60 pages/month for 7 years without break. You can't expect anywhere near the entire thing to already be planned out, and without much time for anything but drawing detailed art, of course the story would suffer) (He also concurrently did a few chapters of that other music manga of his during the last ~2 years)
The main plot points themselves were fine in theory, but how it was done, with so much filler, contrivances, and pointless side stories, so much poor characterization, flipflopping, so little connection with anything that happened before... it essentially just wastes your time for almost the entire last half the series, devolving into frayed storylines that mostly go nowhere.
Hana x Kiyoshi: People say that Kiyoshi got his just reward by losing Chiyo for lying and being a pervert with Hana, but:
his 'perversions' are just typical heterosexual guy stuff (breasts, butts, wet T-shirts, holding hands, kissing), all the pee-fetish stuff was explicitly not his interest, forced on him, kicking and screaming, at knife-point by homicidal Hana. Hana (sexually) assaulted him so many times, such as by pulling down his pants the first time and while he was giving up his dignity to help Mari (on top of the second time in front of Chiyo, bullying him by destroying his chances with Chiyo, and let's be real, he'd unalive himself again after that since Chiyo was the only thing stopping him and this scenario where she wants him to die was exactly what drove him to just days before). The kinkshaming narrative people (and the author) try to apply to him is laughable.
Hana is a sadistic sociopath who got a teehee character 180. There's no accepting that as a valid relationship foundation for a Hana x Kiyoshi while writing off the one with Chiyo he never had a chance to pursue, let alone by justifying it with how he's not a perfect chaste monk. Kiyoshi was entirely single, he was not dating Chiyo. He was under no obligation towards her or Hana, him having a sexual history is not a valid issue. It's like watching a rape victim get bullied and victim blamed by their rapists. Hana admits to sexually assaulting Kiyoshi under threat of murder-suicide, while Chiyo's all: "Oh, that's ok, Kiyoshi, I'm just so understanding, I forgive you for having a sexual history with other women when we aren't even dating. But Stockholm crossdressing with your abuser and getting RKO'd by her while she strips you when you really needed to go pee is too far, boys are bad."
His main lie was about not being part of the boys spying on the girls' locker room (entirely unaddressed in the plot as it was unknown to Chiyo to the end). Chiyo admits she was aware that he exaggerated about liking sumo as an excuse to hang out with her, taking interest in things she likes (as any good partner should), it doesn't even count, that eraser was really his, his grandma really told him all about sumo, and he told her the truth about it the moment she asked in the end.
The only lie he got punished for was wearing Hana's panties to a confession to Chiyo. Him choosing to wear Hana's panties, the girl he turned down and sees as a sister, who sexually assaults him, broke his arm, etc., despite the fact that he's going to confess to his actual crush at a party by the water where they'll definitely go swimming and so would've obviously worn a swimsuit... It's all way too poorly written and literally relies on Kiyoshi's "I'm literally too stupid to think right now" so the contrived plot can happen. It's a stupid nonsense gag which is entirely fine for gag comedy scenes, but it should not be central to the crux of affecting actual plot points let alone the climax of the ending.
Mari did not let her misandry hang ups go in the end. She entirely abandoned all her promises to all the boys after everything they had sacrificed to help her and left to not have to deal with any of them with a final "I hate men" line utterly undoing her entire character development arc. She promised to treat the boys to a bbq party, she promised to celebrate with everyone after getting out, she promised to explain Kiyoshi's perverted actions to everyone and smooth things over with Chiyo, she was supposed to be there for her sister on her birthday instead of deliberately buying a ticket on a plane to leave without even going... her crows ceased to exist... etc. It's just bad writing.
Andre and Risa are just another instance of the the author kinkshaming by writing a narrative arc of Andre being "fixed" by randomly overcoming his fetish in order to achieve a romantic good ending. Go ahead and replace BDSM with homosexuality and tell me more about how great Andre's arc of half-assedly recovering from sexual deviancy is. (No wonder why Joe's BL character development arc was dropped forever when the author only treats BL as a running joke)
Practically all the other boys' and girls' PBR garbage, the chairman, Mari, Kate, Vice President, were all tossed away as pointless filler in the end.
All the interconnectivity and tons of the plot points were dropped for a bare bones ending: Joe's ants ceased to be a thing, the chairman's beahoney bs adventure and getting randomly arrested for no reason, Kiyoshi having essentially given his life to help these girls and then they all immediately don't care about him, the wet T-shirt party, Mitsuko's double lewd apocalypse that did barely anything and went nowhere, the pointless track race, the pointless shoulder wars, the pointless PBR idiocy, Mitsuko being into BL, Joe being into men, Andre being entirely into BDSM, Kate and Meiko chasing the president having any relevance, etc... it all just goes nowhere. Bad writing.

Hana (sexually) assaulted him so many times, such as by pulling down his pants the first time and while he was giving up his dignity to help Mari (on top of the second time in front of Chiyo, bullying him by destroying his chances with Chiyo, and let's be real, he'd unalive himself again after that since Chiyo was the only thing stopping him and this scenario where she wants him to die was exactly what drove him to just days before). The kinkshaming narrative people (and the author) try to apply to him is laughable.
Hana is a sadistic sociopath who got a teehee character 180. There's no accepting that as a valid relationship foundation for a Hana x Kiyoshi while writing off the one with Chiyo he never had a chance to pursue, let alone by justifying it with how he's not a perfect chaste monk. Kiyoshi was entirely single, he was not dating Chiyo. He was under no obligation towards her or Hana, him having a sexual history is not a valid issue. It's like watching a rape victim get bullied and victim blamed by their rapists. Hana admits to sexually assaulting Kiyoshi under threat of murder-suicide, while Chiyo's all: "Oh, that's ok, Kiyoshi, I'm just so understanding, I forgive you for having a sexual history with other women when we aren't even dating. But Stockholm crossdressing with your abuser and getting RKO'd by her while she strips you when you really needed to go pee is too far, boys are bad."
His main lie was about not being part of the boys spying on the girls' locker room (entirely unaddressed in the plot as it was unknown to Chiyo to the end). Chiyo admits she was aware that he exaggerated about liking sumo as an excuse to hang out with her, taking interest in things she likes (as any good partner should), it doesn't even count, that eraser was really his, his grandma really told him all about sumo, and he told her the truth about it the moment she asked in the end.
The only lie he got punished for was wearing Hana's panties to a confession to Chiyo. Him choosing to wear Hana's panties, the girl he turned down and sees as a sister, who sexually assaults him, broke his arm, etc., despite the fact that he's going to confess to his actual crush at a party by the water where they'll definitely go swimming and so would've obviously worn a swimsuit... It's all way too poorly written and literally relies on Kiyoshi's "I'm literally too stupid to think right now" so the contrived plot can happen. It's a stupid nonsense gag which is entirely fine for gag comedy scenes, but it should not be central to the crux of affecting actual plot points let alone the climax of the ending.
Mari did not let her misandry hang ups go in the end. She entirely abandoned all her promises to all the boys after everything they had sacrificed to help her and left to not have to deal with any of them with a final "I hate men" line utterly undoing her entire character development arc. She promised to treat the boys to a bbq party, she promised to celebrate with everyone after getting out, she promised to explain Kiyoshi's perverted actions to everyone and smooth things over with Chiyo, she was supposed to be there for her sister on her birthday instead of deliberately buying a ticket on a plane to leave without even going... her crows ceased to exist... etc. It's just bad writing.
Andre and Risa are just another instance of the the author kinkshaming by writing a narrative arc of Andre being "fixed" by randomly overcoming his fetish in order to achieve a romantic good ending. Go ahead and replace BDSM with homosexuality and tell me more about how great Andre's arc of half-assedly recovering from sexual deviancy is. (No wonder why Joe's BL character development arc was dropped forever when the author only treats BL as a running joke)
Practically all the other boys' and girls' PBR garbage, the chairman, Mari, Kate, Vice President, were all tossed away as pointless filler in the end.
All the interconnectivity and tons of the plot points were dropped for a bare bones ending: Joe's ants ceased to be a thing, the chairman's beahoney bs adventure and getting randomly arrested for no reason, Kiyoshi having essentially given his life to help these girls and then they all immediately don't care about him, the wet T-shirt party, Mitsuko's double lewd apocalypse that did barely anything and went nowhere, the pointless track race, the pointless shoulder wars, the pointless PBR idiocy, Mitsuko being into BL, Joe being into men, Andre being entirely into BDSM, Kate and Meiko chasing the president having any relevance, etc... it all just goes nowhere. Bad writing.

So I 30m have been with my partner for 3 years, I treat her 2 kids as my own an we have one together. About October last year she fooled around with another guy behind my back and said a lot of horrible shit behind my back. We moved past it but haven't been able too forget it or let it stop bothering me. I've seen a lot of overzealous predictions on this subreddit so I thought I'd share my two cents.
If you're up to date on the 2024 map you'll realize that 287-251 signifies a Goergia would flip for Trump and everything else stays the same. The reasoning comes down to a couple main things:
The Polls:
So far polls are not looking good for Biden, if we jsut base a prediction on that, Trump claims an easy victory and glides to a fourth term. However, if we look a little bit deeper we see something interesting.

It seems 538 is overestimating democrats in safer blue states and underestimating in the swingier states, amkign election such as 2022 seem more accurate on the aggregate but in the states that matter, such as PA in 2022, 538 put Oz ahead of Fetterman by over a point only to lsoe by nearly 6. Same with Nevada where Laxalt was up over a point in 538 polling average only to lose by about 0.8%.
Why is this relevant? Because in the states that most matter, PA, MI, WI, AZ, NV, and GA, polls were off in favor of republicans by 1-8 pts. (My guess as to why this happens is because in both 2020 and 2016 polls were too much in favor of Democrats so pollsters had to adjust methodology and stratification)
When taking this into account, the gloomy polls surrounding the many swing states are within margin of error, and if the 2022 trend continues, this margin is just tight enough for Biden to squeek out a win.
The Economy:
By far what's holding Biden the most is inflation. Whether or not it is his fault is irrelevent for this because the electorate certainly thinks its his fault.
The current data shows economic problems looming ahead, however with the recent PCE report and wage growth it is clear that the effects of inflation aren't being felt nearly as much. Mutliple wholesalers have cut prices on commonly used items as demand has dried up, and the majority of current inflation is held up by energy, transportation, and housing inflation. Although all important for the average American, especially energy, this does not have the same effect as seeing high grocery prices (which in fact fell 0.2% MoM in the last CPI report, falling for the first time in a while).
I do not doubt that inflation has and will continue to be a major issue for the Biden campaign, but it does not cause the same vitriol as it did before. This means that many of the White Suburban Moms who came out for Biden in 2020 will not be turned away from him and will continue the trend established in 2018 of the suburbs shifting leftward.
Israel Palestine:
No doubt recent headlines have the Biden campaign shook, this issue has been extremely divisive and hurts the current president.
While I do think it absolutely will cause issues for his reelection campaign especially amongst the younger voters, I do not think this will be enough to flip the election. This is simply due to the fact that as the war winds down, people will care less about it. The death rate in the war has plummeted as Hamas is seemingly running out of any chance for counterattack; as less is talked about the war peopel will care less.
Furthermore, Biden's msot recent statements have continued to be admonished by many of the Pro-palestine wing, yet as a consensus less people are agsint his policy as he aligns himself as a more ceasefire orientated person.
The Trump Conviction:
Just as seeing less Israel Palestine makes people care less about it, having headliens be bombarded constantly by "Trump is a convicted felon" will make even the most steadfast undecideds be turned off from Trump. The simple fact is that people care, Democrats care, Independents care, and Republicans care. This only stands to hurt him amongst avid voters such as Suburban Moms.
Why Georgia?
Unlike the other swing states which are within margins of error, Trump boasts a strong lead in Georgia polls. Furthermore, it seems that despite his best efforts, black voters are extremely unenthusiastic about voting in 2024 and they represented the demogrpahic that won Biden the election in 2024. Furthermore unlike the other swing states which boasted higher wage growth, Georgia had the lowest wage growth YoY meaning people are feeling inflation more there.

- Myth: Well they never sold it.
- Reality: It doesn't have to be commercialized to be protected.
- Myth: Well it was a long time ago
- Reality: Possibly true...as long as the creator is deceased (or if multiple creators, the last living one is deceased) and the required time has passed...although this gets tricky with "estates."
(d) Duration of Rights.—(1) With respect to works of visual art created on or after the effective date set forth in section 610(a) of the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990, the rights conferred by subsection (a) shall endure for a term consisting of the life of the author.
So what's this thing I hear called "Fair Use?"
Straight from the source:

- Reality: IT IS commercial. You could even barter for bacon and it'd be commercial. It's an exchange of one good/service for another good/service.

- Reality: Not likely the courts will see it that way.

- Reality: Probably not...the courts would probably see this as a creation of art out of factual sources.
amount/substantiality in relation to the whole...this is where using clips of songs that are only like 5 seconds long works! But using more than that...runs into problems. This is tough to decipher too...as some songs are EASILY identifiable from just 5 seconds (Ice, ice, baby) - and thus NOT fair use. But some aren't. Usually you're safe using a very small clip of a song or video - especially if you're adding more to it. But this is a dangerous game to play - and there's places to get free audio (some sources below)
effect of the use - this is probably the biggest one. Courts will look at simply...does YOUR work affect the sales or potential for sales of the copyright owner. Of note...this is looked at at the time of the issue being brought to the court, not at the time of sale. For example, let's say my batman card sells for 10 Algos today, but Algorand BLOWS UP and soon every NFT is on Algorand. And now my OG Batman NFT is seen as one of the first Batman ones and official. Warner Bros gonna sue the shit outta whoever owns it at the time they sue to get the rights to all sales of that NFT. So that person is left holding an empty bag when Warner Bros wins in court.
- Myth: Well they're not commercializing it NOW so I'm safe.
- Reality: Technically, yea Warner Bros probably won't spend the money to go after the OG artist and the hands the asset passed through...HOWEVER, they may. That's their right. Who knows - the Napster days showed us the lengths companies will go to. EVEN BIGGER HOWEVER, the last person holding it when Warner Bros DOES decide to go after that Batman NFT...uh oh for them - they just lost their asset.
- Myth: Well it's been like a year, and no one has brought up copyright. So I'm good.
- Reality: If this was in a normal market...maybe this argument would work. If McDonald's let you sell a Ronald McDonald poster for like a year on Amazon with no issues, some court may say "bro, you took too long to bring this to us." HOWEVER, with cryptocurrency being so new (and Algorand being so little known/discussed), most courts would see it as "reasonable" that a copyright owner failed to exercise their rights within a year - possibly even a decade. (Updated because I realized last example dealt with trademark not copyright :o)
So what am I safe to use?
US Government works (mostly)...any deemed free to use by creator...and any a copyright lawyer says they have your backs on (cuz now they're liable).

amount/substantiality in relation to the whole...this is where using clips of songs that are only like 5 seconds long works! But using more than that...runs into problems. This is tough to decipher too...as some songs are EASILY identifiable from just 5 seconds (Ice, ice, baby) - and thus NOT fair use. But some aren't. Usually you're safe using a very small clip of a song or video - especially if you're adding more to it. But this is a dangerous game to play - and there's places to get free audio (some sources below)
effect of the use - this is probably the biggest one. Courts will look at simply...does YOUR work affect the sales or potential for sales of the copyright owner. Of note...this is looked at at the time of the issue being brought to the court, not at the time of sale. For example, let's say my batman card sells for 10 Algos today, but Algorand BLOWS UP and soon every NFT is on Algorand. And now my OG Batman NFT is seen as one of the first Batman ones and official. Warner Bros gonna sue the shit outta whoever owns it at the time they sue to get the rights to all sales of that NFT. So that person is left holding an empty bag when Warner Bros wins in court.
- Myth: Well they're not commercializing it NOW so I'm safe.
- Reality: Technically, yea Warner Bros probably won't spend the money to go after the OG artist and the hands the asset passed through...HOWEVER, they may. That's their right. Who knows - the Napster days showed us the lengths companies will go to. EVEN BIGGER HOWEVER, the last person holding it when Warner Bros DOES decide to go after that Batman NFT...uh oh for them - they just lost their asset.
- Myth: Well it's been like a year, and no one has brought up copyright. So I'm good.
- Reality: If this was in a normal market...maybe this argument would work. If McDonald's let you sell a Ronald McDonald poster for like a year on Amazon with no issues, some court may say "bro, you took too long to bring this to us." HOWEVER, with cryptocurrency being so new (and Algorand being so little known/discussed), most courts would see it as "reasonable" that a copyright owner failed to exercise their rights within a year - possibly even a decade. (Updated because I realized last example dealt with trademark not copyright :o)
So what am I safe to use?
US Government works (mostly)...any deemed free to use by creator...and any a copyright lawyer says they have your backs on (cuz now they're liable).

You'll notice there's a lot of "shoulds" "coulds" "probably" etc. This is because copyright cases are all unique and go to the courts. The best bet is to go with stuff you KNOW is free and fair-use. If not, I'd look up copyright law, consult supreme court cases concerning copyright, and ultimately, talk to a lawyer.

This happened a while ago. Basically I broke up with my gf cuz she was getting toxic to me, she used to be very nice. I don't think I've done anything wrong, I asked if I ever done anything bad to her and she said nah. I did my honest best, I even stayed with her another 2 months cuz I hoped she'd change (she didnt).
She was the only person I messaged, now I don't message anyone. I am kinda lonely and rly life is boring like man, this is so meaningless. I really did love her. She loved me too, till she began showing signs that she doesn't.
Later on after we broke up, I saw a love message on her insta story only a couple of days after my bday (we broke up after my bday). I didn't notice it before cuz I don't rly use insta. On my bday she sent me the most heartwarming bday wishes ever. Like how can someone change this drastically, from loving me to getting rude and cheating on me?
But yh now I'm bored af, bit heartbroken (bit cuz it happened quite some time ago so I've recovered a bit) and everything just sucks. There just ain't rly a purpose for me anymore. Did I make the right choice in blocking her? Should I have just remained a friend?
