Aww, cripes. I didn't know I'd have to write a description. How many words is that so far, like a hundred? Soooo, yeah. Mildly interesting stuff. Stuff that interests you. Mildly. It's in the name, ffs.

2024.05.29 06:39 Tear-Relative AITA for being the reason for my bestfriend's engagement to break off?

Me (30) and my bestfriend Mary (31) have been friends for 8 years, during this friendship, Mary was aware that cheating on a relationship is a big no-no for me (as all decent people should). Even when I find out celebrities, colleagues or even people I don't know break up because of cheating, I get this bitter taste in my mouth. It's all because, all my life, my dad is a serial cheater and even now even after 34 years - he still is. It started when Mary and I worked together on a cruise ship for the first time in our years of working on different contracts - we finally got the same ship and same contract dates. She is already engaged by this time and will be married in a few months, so almost all the preparations are done. And since we are on a cruise ship and far away from our country, Mary and her fiance Mark (36) are on a long distance relationship. I can only imagine planning a wedding apart from your partner. I know it's been hard on her. Over the course of our 6 month contract together, she developed a lot of guy friends within the crew (people who work onboard the ship) since there are more guys who hangout on crew bars at night after our shift. I on the other hand don't drink so I just sleep early since I work 11 hrs a day everyday. Oftentimes, she goes back to our cabin drunk or sometimes with her new friends in the middle of the night, sometimes it will wake me, sometimes not, which being a crew member for a few years living with different kinds of roommates, i am used to it.
But one night, I cannot fall asleep because my partner and I had a fight and I was waiting for him to reply, i heard someone open the door and I heard a man's voice snickering(obviously trying to not make a noise) and Mary's shushing noise followed him. For context we live on a cabin with a bunk bed and I'm top bunk and I have curtains for privacy. Obviously they won't be able to tell if i'm awake or not. I then heard kissing noises and felt movements soon after - they were doing the deed. My gut fell and I wanted to be a mean nosy bitch and go down and ask them what they think they are doing but I just stopped myself, telling myself it's none of my business and that I can deal with her tomorrow.
The next day came and I talked to her - to cut the story short, she's been feeling sad and she's having cold feet. She felt loved and seen by this "guy" and when they talk he just makes her feel everything she will be giving up when she gets married. For context again, Mark is her first boyfriend and they'd been together for 10 years. She just feels that she has been missing out being with him for so long and said she "wanted to try some new things". I argued with her, that if this was the case, she should break up with Mark instead of sleeping around and cheating. I told her that if she gets married with these thoughts in her head, she would end up hurting Mark (plus there's no divorce in our country, only an annulment and it's hell to pay - not that it's an excuse just a sidenote haha). She said she would think about it and wait for the right time, but apparently - her thinking about it means she'll still sleep around with this guy.
I hate every bit of it, but she asked me not to say anything and to not ruin anything I am not a part of. I've known this guy as much as I know her, Mark, my boyfriend and I bond on music and biking and he is practically like a big brother to me. But, I also want to respect Mary's life and her decisions. I continue to be there for her, on her mental breakdowns and her bad days when she feels really bad with the things she has been doing. I advise her to do the right thing and tell him. But ishe asked me to promise not to tell, inside I feel so bad, because this is not what my convictions are telling me. I know I have to be honest and I feel that I'm betraying Mark by not telling him. And in a weird way, i feel that the trauma I had growing up with a father that cheats, now with a bestfriend who does the same thing is taking a toll on me. I actually got so anxious with this situation that I often zone-out, had no appetite and I actually lost a lot of weight.
Our contracts pass and we're about to go home in a few weeks and she's still sleeping with the guy and some others, still "thinking about it", still not letting go of Mark and still going through with the wedding preps. And she still begs me not to say anything. I cannot tell you how many times I drafted a message on my notepad composing what I will tell Mark. There were also times Mark messaged me and asked me why Mary seems so distant lately. The urge to say the truth is really hard to supress but because I love Mary so much I try to be understanding and wanted her to tell it directly to him so as not to humiliate their 10 year relationship.
Fast forward, I came home a week before her. Being back to the Philippines and seeing my mom waiting for me in the airport - so beautiful and kind and yet knowing how much she feels unloved by my dad made me snap. On that day I came home I sent a whatsapp message to Mary, "I'm telling Mark" and turned off my phone. I met up with Mark that same night and told him everything. He was dumbfounded, he was crying and we spent 5 hours on that coffee shop talking and just him on a roller coaster of anger, sadness and just plain pity on himself really. He really does love her. So much. My boyfriend and I took him home. He was just staring into space on the car ride home and I feel so bad and i had this lingering feeling that I know i did the right thing but i also caused pain.
When I woke up and turned on my phone I had a hundred of texts, missed calls and even emails saying that i answer the phone, that i'm an ungrateful friend, a backstabber, i am stupid and that i just wanted to see her fall because I'm jealous of her. She said she was planning to go home and confess to him directly so that she can reason with him to continue with the wedding despite the circumstance. She said that she had never seen this evil side of me and she pity me because there's nothing interesting going on in my life that I had to cause drama in other people's lives.
I felt worse. I haven't replied to her and it has been 3 weeks from then to today as of writing. I deactivated all my socials because i heard from a friend that she has been posting cryptic status online. They called it off and informed everybody on the guest list. I still receive e-mails from her to this day saying 'I hope you are happy' and 'You're not a hero, you're a villain.' Mark had messaged me saying thanks but thats about it. I think he is also off the grid and not talking to anyone. I feel so so bad and the way she reacted to me made me feel that I'm an asshole for telling, so am i?
P.S Sorry for the long story, I'm just really writing the way I feel about it as it is still so fresh.
And if you were able to read this Charlotte, just wanted to let you know that you have a lot of fans from the Philippines. <3 Keep up being such a great youtuber you are such a great company specially at times like this.

2024.05.29 06:34 StatisticianSuper129 A lot of the time, I wish I could’ve been born someone else tbh

I guess I’m just here venting my feelings because life has been pretty hard lately and I don’t really have anywhere else to go with these thoughts at the moment. Feel free to stay if you can relate to my struggles, or don’t, the choice is yours. 99.9% of the time, it feels like I’m always wishing I could’ve been born into someone else, because I can’t stand how difficult my life has been made to be, and it just feels like too much of a burden to take on. I’m not sure if many other people here can relate to this feeling, but it feels as if I was born to just have a really insufferable and miserable life.
I was born gay, black (technically mixed but by a quarter), and not very good looking if I’m being honest. I grew up in the western US, and ever since I was about twelve, I was bullied for everything someone could be bullied for. The way that I looked, the way i spoke, being black, not being black enough, being occasionally (presumed) gay, etc. I just quite simply never fit anywhere and I was constantly reminded that I’m never good enough. I hated what I saw in the mirror so much to the point where I’d avoid every mirror possible and I would begin to feel resentment towards my family for birthing me into being at the absolute bottom of the social ladder. I know it’s not their fault that the world is the way it is and I do truly love them, but I just couldn’t stand the fact that my life was made incredibly difficult because I was born to them and not a more privileged family that could’ve provided me an easier life. Instead, I was given the burden of being born different in a society that just doesn’t like me for multiple reasons, and it’s now my job to completely change myself so that I can have a chance at a better life.
I spent a lot of time alone as a kid since I always felt insecure about myself, and I would work tirelessly to be more attractive, charming, and endearing so that others would treat me with kindness and respect. Instead of going outside and playing with others in the summer, I spent my summers doing what people now call “looksmaxxing”. I would stay out of the sun because I’d get picked on if I was “too dark”, spend everyday working out, grow my curly hair out to take attention away from my nose which I hated, practicing to hide my “gay voice”, and finding the coolest clothes to wear so people would be impressed with me by the next school year. I would never hang out with my school friends and never go out and just be a kid having fun like others did. I hated myself too much to do anything else because it felt like everyone else hated me or looked down on me for just existing. I just wanted to be someone that could have more in life, but it felt like I’d have to run myself into the ground trying to change enough to actually have a shot.
The sad thing is that this actually would work. With each year that went by in school I became closer to my goals. I hung out with the popular crowd beginning in freshman year of hs and started to feel better about myself because I started to gain recognition. All of this however took a turn when, long story short, I fell in love with my best friend since middle school and he turned on me in sophomore year due to him being closeted. He shut me out, and my other friends didn’t talk to me anymore because he was basically the leader of the popular kids. I switched schools in junior year and fell into a really deep depression that honestly I never fully healed from. I’m 22 now, and I’m honestly pretty messed up because I’ve had such a horrible childhood. I guess you could say I glew up dramatically in the years after hs, but only because I was bullied into basically becoming a different person, and I still feel the need to constantly change things about myself and obsess over my appearance. I don’t know how to get over the things I’ve been through and my life is still shitty today because of trauma and unfavorable circumstances I find myself in.
I see other people who are my same age or younger, and I get extremely angry because they have lives that seem so much better than my own; Friendships, relationships, happiness that they didn’t have to slave away for. I envy the ease that life has provided them and the freedom they must feel, while I always feel caged and confined to a life of hardship because I’m me… and they’re them. I want my life to be different, but it feels like the life they have was never meant for someone like me, and I have to spend years of my life trying to be where they were born. It’s so frustrating, and it all just feels like too much to bare. I don’t really know what the point of me writing all of this was, maybe just me letting off steam or reaching out into the void, but If you’re still reading this thanks for sticking around till the end lol. If anyone has any words of encouragement, I could definitely use it right about now because I’m really struggling 😂

2024.05.29 06:34 quartzqueen44 I think my friend has become my LO and I’m not sure how to navigate it.

Hi everyone. I think that I might be experiencing Limerence. I feel very overwhelmed and unsure how to handle this situation. Any support or advice would be appreciated.
I’ll try to summarize my situation the best that I can. After I had an extremely difficult loss in my family, I completely closed off. I don’t think I’ve ever isolated myself that deeply before. The grief was overwhelming. I decided to join some support groups online in the hopes of getting myself out of my comfort zone, and hopefully meeting some new people. I joined this beautiful online community and made some great friends. The group creator specifically I had a quick connection with due to both of us being neurodivergent, queer, and having a lot in common. I felt immediately drawn to her, I couldn’t explain it. As our friendship grew so did my romantic feelings. I felt scared that my romantic feelings were because I was grieving, and so I tried to push them away. They wouldn’t leave though, and that made me realize that they were legitimate.
I was starting to pick up on some signs that my feelings could potentially be returned a few months into the friend, but there was a part of me that was also scared to believe it. As time has gone on our relationship has ebbed and flowed. The friendship is still there, but I’ve come to realize that both her and I have a lot of issues with disorganized attachment. The deeper my romantic feelings have gotten, the more afraid I’ve become of rejection, of losing her, but also of truly opening my heart to her. It’s gotten to the point where sometimes this relationship becomes extremely painful for me.
I see her trying to make connection with me. I know she cares about me and would support me if I ever needed someone. Yet there are times where she becomes so consumed by her insecurities and her fears of being loved that it makes me feel rejected, even after she’s done things to show me she cares for me. My mind can twist almost anything into a negative tbh. After seeing a pattern between our interactions and poetry that she writes about having romantic feelings for someone who looks like me, sounds like me, and topics being written about that we’ve recently discussed before the poem is posted, I think that we might actually both be each other’s LO.
There are days where it’s difficult for me to focus on anything else but this relationship. I can get consumed with my daydreams about her. I can also become consumed with my relationship anxiety, and my desire to control the outcome of this relationship because I’m afraid of getting hurt. It’s like there’s moments where I truly do want to let her go so I can be free of the pain, and moments where I don’t because I want to have hope. I’m confused how to navigate this. It’s hard to feel the extreme intensity of the anxiety and the ways this relationship triggers my attachment trauma. I started therapy in March and I’m trying to work on this. I just recently started coming to the realization that this might be Limerence. I’m looking for information to try to understand how I can make this easier for me to navigate, especially with this being a person who is my friend. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

2024.05.29 06:26 saphirelime relief but i should be afraid

ive posted here before but for some reason my account wouldnt load the messages and requests of the people i was talking to then i made a new account.
Anyways I have decided that June 5th I'll be taking my own life. I put alot of thought and consideration into the matter. I've genuinely had enough.
My breaking point was after my admission was revoked over a fafsa error. I had dropped out of school twice before over financal and mental health reasons.
My mother is sometimes physically abusive and my dad is not in the right head space. He tried killing himself infront of me earlier this year.
ive been blocked by ex friends of 7+ years and have none now. no man either. im actively looking for a job as well rn. hopefully will get hired soon.
I also suffer from extreme episodic outbursts idk what else to call them where i constantly shake and scream until im physically exhausted
it got to the point where i couldnt shower properly anymore without holding on the handle
i cant afford a therapist and the ones covered my by insurance take too long. i cant get on new medications. cant admit myself to the mental hospital because i need to look for work.
i am very exhausted and tired and done with all this fucking shit begging Allah to help me.
I believe in his mercy which is why im going to end my life.
i just dont know what the proper way to say goodbye is. do i write a letter telling everyone how i feel. a video recording ? nothing at all
allow me to do this one selfless act.

2024.05.29 06:18 ConiferousBeard Question about integrating a mother-complex for healthy individuation (personal advice/Jungian perspective)

Hello everybody, I hope all of you are well.
I am writing this post to ask for some advice maybe, or feedback on how to successfully overcome, integrate, and process a mother complex that I think I am slowly starting to come out of, but am still very much entrenched in. I will provide only as much information as necessary to avoid overburdening everybody. To those of you who read, and reply, I thank you.
When I was young I had a tough upbringing as I was/am quite eccentric and this led to ostracization in school. In my life, the sole person who really was emotionally available in a way was my mother. Now, my father is not a bad person by any means, but I was 100% divested of a paternal father figure, as he always preferred to work. He had a problem with the kind of emotional availability that having children would entail (as I see it) and therefore unconsciously sought ways to preoccupy himself.
As a result of my upbringing I had very few friends, and developed a fear of what one could call 'normal socialization'. This is very Puer Aeternus type stuff. I actively pushed away sexual thoughts and matter, repressing any thoughts that would refer to my sexuality in any way possible. These ideas/thoughts would be diverted in other ways such as by an overemphasis on the pleasure of eating good and high quality food, as well as through fetishization. In a psychological sense, I was totally and completely dependent on my mother for a sense of security for most of my life.
Fast forward to today. I am in my 30s and actually took some major steps to freeing myself from that lifestyle. I moved out from my country of origin and as a result was naturally subjected to a wide variety of stimuli, friendships, and the need to adapt in ways I never have. It hasn't been easy, but slowly but surely I have been doing so. However, every day I continue to call my mother on the phone. I seem to depict it to myself as a kind of sympathy, because my mother is divorced and alone aside from having pets, and I out of all of my siblings feels a very deep sense of compassion and sympathy for her. I really do not feel like I have separated myself from her psychologically as a result, while moving definitely has made me develop quite a bit. That being said, I seek approval and validation for my mother all the time on account of this dependence, and I think this is something that is holding me back from "striking out" in the way Jung describes in Symbols of Transformation and perhaps elsewhere.
I have some background in Jung (and philosophy more generally) and am sympathetic to his therapeutic approach. This has been playing on my mind for a long time. I am just wondering, to make a long story short, if there is anything I should consider doing in order to, as Jung puts it, make the archetypes conscious and develop a healthy relationship to that mother archetype/complex. I'm not sure if it's as simple as not calling my mother every day, or something like that. Or does it have to do with making other sorts of archetypal content conscious?
I can list some things that I believe are related to this complex. I am ultimately optimistic, but some of the issues in connection to this have definitely filled me with anxiety.
Thank you in advance to anybody who provides advice or guidance on this matter.

2024.05.29 06:18 Wandering_aimlessly9 What’s the best way to handle the guilt of being no? 41f, 44f

I went nc with my sister years ago for a multitude of reasons. One of the reasons being that she had mental health issues and claimed she was getting help but no one (including her then husband) was allowed to know what she was diagnosed with, what the treatment was, etc. No one was allowed to know what her physical medical diagnoses were and what meds they were being treated with. It started with random things like she was on a medication that requires her to take (per her…there is no proof she was willing to show proving what she said) 6 pills at once. She claims she asked her then teenage daughter to give her six of these pills while she was driving. (It was for a fever blister supposedly.) But her daughter gave her the wrong pills and she didn’t notice bc she was driving. I could understand a mix up (we do have SALAD drugs. Sound alike look alike drugs) but that wasn’t the case. Think of the meds being named something completely like shrimp vs chicken. The pills didn’t even look similar or have similar sizes. She ended up in ICU bc she overdosed since apparently her daughter gave her the wrong drug. BUT no one was allowed to ask said daughter bc (per sister) she was devastated and felt guilty. Once the initial shock wore off…my husband and I realized things didn’t add up. Then a few months later she randomly took FMLA from her job and left the state to do a 6 week in house mental health clinic. they wanted her to stay for 12 weeks but she would only agree to 8 weeks. After she came back she would only talk about movies (she tried to equate movies to every situation in life and it was exhausting), religion which was strange bc I never could tell if she would be 110% pro religion or thinking it was all an elaborate scheme, politics where she was in the far far far left (people should have a right to demolish anything if it made them uncomfortable. At one point I told her the sheer size of her house made me uncomfortable so I should have a right to demolish it…totally never would. I don’t think I have that kind of rights. To which she fought back that was her home and I had no right. I just looked at her and said…so people don’t have a right to demolish something bc it makes them uncomfortable or is it only your things that rule applies to), and jobs (at my then 3yo’s birthday she kept bringing the convo back to a client of hers who had been SA and how she had to teach the client what that meant and what intercourse was and what that situation was bad. People kept redirecting the convo but she kept going back to it). At that party I finally reached my breaking point and sent the kids outside to play and yelled. I yelled a lot, kicked her out of the house, and went nc. I did apologize to the other adults for losing my temper. She sent me a long crazy message about how I needed help bc I was mentally unstable.
Recently I read a post on Reddit and it made me curious…I looked her court records up online. I expected maybe another cc that went into the system bc it was 15k plus that she stopped paying on. (Not the first time or even second that would have happened.) Boy was I wrong. She had traffic violations for 15-24 over the speed limit. She had failure to yield tickets. She had a couple tickets for no tags. A warrant out for one of the vehicle tickets. And…a violation for a trashed yard due to excessive rubbish which also had a warrant out on her.
I don’t know if she has custody of her kids at this point. They are all older. One is a legal adult. I know she convinced my parents after all was said and done that I went to court and testified against her. I’m still left confused over that one bc…my parents were at court with her for the divorce. They were in the court room with her. I was never there. I didn’t even know when the court date was. I asked my mom if she remembered seeing me on the stand but she would never answer. Golden child can’t be questioned when holes appear!!! Must defend golden child!!! (We are no contact with my parents now for a multitude of reasons.) my parents defend her so much and all I can think is…you’re enabling her to be a total and utter mess.
Part of me wants to contact her to see if she’s ok. I feel the need to make sure she’s not on the verge of doing something bad. Just know she’s ok on some level. I won’t bc I’m not going down that sewer pipe. I just feel so bad for her. I want to wrap her up in a warm blanket and give her hot chocolate telling her it will be ok. I hoped the court records would have been empty. I hope and pray she’s moving on in her life and thriving. Instead it just feels like she’s getting worse. I feel horrible for my nibblings who are experiencing all of that and in all honesty I don’t even know if they have contact with her now. Ex BIL may have stepped in for the health and safety of the kids. I don’t know.
But yeah I feel total guilt. I remember when I told my BIL about the birthday party event (in case the kids said something to him I didn’t want to be the crazy person and he deserved the right to know what was going on) he told me I needed to find a way to fix the relationship with my sister bc she needed me now more than she realized. He was more right than anyone could have imagined. She has/had two best friends. Best friends for 25ish years. All lived in the same town. Neither were willing to show up and testify in her defense. One agreed to but then gave a bs answer to back out at the last minute. The other couldn’t bc she couldn’t get off work rofl. She didn’t even write a character reference letter to the judge. Who would have thought they would have abandoned her.
I know it’s safer for me and my kids (mentally, physically and emotionally) to stay away from all of them but I still feel guilty. What’s the best way to handle the guilt?

2024.05.29 06:14 Spooneater69 AITAH For saying a girl won a speech competition out of pity?

Ok so, I am in the eigth grade and our school does a mini eighth grade “graduation ceremony” for our transition into highschool. Part of this event is three people from eighth grade giving a speech to the student body and parents. I decided to submit my speech and I believe that I did impeccable in my audition, I was able to look up and give eye contact, was able to be breviloquent when reading, and my voice projected enough even without the mic.
After delivering the speech to my homeroom class and the judges I sat down and listened to the next speech. The next speech was by a girl who was infact, dyslexic. She was unable to look up at the crowd and even had to be REMINDED to pause during periods. It was to my utter disgust and trepidation that the dyslexic girl was chosen to deliver the speech.
I just was at a complete loss I what I could’ve possibly did wrong, I had more achievements such as volunteering at a nursing home, being head of student council, being in the gifted program, having the highest MAP testing score, and being chosen to write letters thanking a foundation for donating to my school. Besides I am far better at reading and writing than anybody in our school, even my homeroom teacher said that I am to the entire class!
So I was rather upset by being beaten by someone with a disability and turned to my friend to tell her I believed that this girl was chosen “Out of pity because shes disabled” and one of the teachers ended up pulling me aside to tell me how rude and disrespectful it was that I said that, and said they needed to pick someone who has a harder time to “be inclusive”. I just don’t understand why they couldn’t include someone who can read properly, I mean I know way more about literature than she does! She couldn’t name a classic that wasn’t taught in school, like when I attempted to speak to her about the novel Catch-22.

2024.05.29 06:10 GeometryDash_Gamer AS Characters Worst to Best

AS Characters Worst to Best
Previous posts: TDI, TDA, WT, ROTI
AS Character Ranking
15: Mal (El Mal Villano) - Yeah this guy is bad, but…not in the way the narrative wants us to see him. While he's not my personal least favorite villain, he is worse in the sense that we are supposed to take him seriously and see him as the 'ultimate' evil. And his downfall is the worst in the series without a doubt. As for his actual run as a villain, while his schemes are conceptually better than Island Heather, the dude makes himself way too obvious to be believable. And a handful of characters drop many IQ points for him to stay hidden as long as he does, Cameron having it especially bad. It’s also absolutely ridiculous that he did nothing upon being aware Mike is on the loose inside their brain, which makes me think maybe his stupidity was just contagious to others. Credit where it's due, he has his good moments and some occasional schemes that actually hit the mark for me. I also really like his voice, and he is surprisingly hilarious at times, both ironically and unironically. But no amount of boat noises, scaring Chris, mockingly imitating Mike in the confessional, or how funny the sheer stupidity behind some of his lies are, can make up for his god-awful writing and how much the season suffers as a result
14: Mike (Multiple Problems) - I could've just ranked him and Mal in one. But they are both terrible in separate ways that need more explanation to fully cover. On Mike's end, on top of being an objectively undeserving winner from a gameplay standpoint, his story is just depressingly bad in every way. His journey throughout his brain is underwhelming, save for a few amusing moments mostly from his alters. And he ironically doesn't get much focus despite being the most important character of the season. Especially not helping is that his development of learning to be more honest about his MPD in Revenge of the Island gets regressed here, and the plot requires him becoming brain-dead for Mal to gain complete control. Though I wouldn't be so hard on him if he actually learned from his mistakes like in Revenge. But as it stands, he learns nothing, everything works out ideally for him, and his plot concludes in a way that just all-around reeks of garbage storytelling. I wouldn't consider him one of the most infuriating characters, but there’s just very little I actually like about him. He is boring for most of his screen-time and fails as a protagonist on so many levels. And in some cases, a depressing character is worse than an infuriating one, especially given how important he wound up being to what was supposed to be the 'ultimate' season. The one thing I can actually give him credit for is that he had a good performance in a couple of challenges. Though beyond that, this season was a big fall-from-grace for him
13: Sierra (Codysexual) - At her worst, she sucks balls, and I think we all know why. Her obsession with Cody is incredibly cringe and unfunny, and the Camcody plot is especially cancerous with zero purpose of existing. With that said, she actually has some occasional moments I like, and she is surprisingly really good in episode 5 in particular. I also don't find her lows to be as bad as her World Tour incarnation. Though while she has more positives than most people give her credit for, I don't think Sierra's characterization here was anything either her fans or criticizers wanted
12: Jo (The Shot We All Wish Wasn't Cannon) - Jo had a promising start in the first episode, only for her remaining two episodes to turn her into an even bigger egotistical dumbass than she ever was in Revenge. Not only does she learn absolutely nothing from her mistakes, but she makes one of the stupidest challenge blunders in the history of Total Drama, yet has the gall to think she's still superior to her teammates. Her and Aleheather fighting for an alliance with Gwen was cool and made for some good comedy, but even then, it was very short-lived. And overall, her characterization here was just insulting and disappointing
11: Sam (Justice Against Gamer-phobia) - While the general premise of Sam being in this season was questionable, it could've worked…had they actually utilized him in any way. But as it stands, the dude does barely anything besides being a boring pain-magnet who is amusing in select moments at best, only for the one noteworthy moment he has to lead to a huge ass-pull that happened under completely nonsensical reasoning. Though I suppose in a way, his treatment in his elimination episode prepared us for what was yet to come. Speaking of which...
10: Duncan (The Flip and Flop #1) - All-Stars had the grounds to be one of Duncan's best seasons. But instead, he wound up being a painfully inconsistent mess with an exceptionally terrible sendoff to boot. Throughout Gwuncan, he repeatedly fluctuates between being nice and supportive to Gwen, and being an ignorant dumbass who for some reason tries to get Courtney's attention again (and not just in "Moon Madness" either). It's such an insulting direction to take him given he was clearly tired of her before and only came back to All-Stars for Gwen. And even in the context that he didn't truly get over Courtney, it never gets capitalized on and just makes him agonizingly stupid and pathetic. The premise of his nice-guy schtick is also dumb and makes him come off as an annoying crybaby. And while it had episodes where it worked a lot better, even the better aspects of it (i.e. his friendship with Zoey and any potential he had with his past history with Mal) get absolutely squandered in favor of making him lose every last brain cell he ever had, culminating in one of the worst sendoffs in the series and rendering his entire run in All-Stars worthless. I tried to like and defend Duncan this season. And afterall, it's Duncan so I'll always find things to like about him. But his flaws are far too glaring to look past. I don't think the writers had any idea what they wanted to do with him here. And the fact his portrayal repeatedly flip-flops between a likable and interesting character and a pathetic loser with zero self-awareness, makes him painful to watch. And given he's one of my favorite characters, it only makes this iteration all the more devastating...
9: Courtney (The Flip and Flop #2) - Also rather hit-or-miss even outside of her elimination episode, which completely assassinates her character. Courtney was just plain unlikable for no reason during her time on the heroes team, with not even a good challenge-performance to back it up. However, she got quite better during her time on the villains team. Not to mention, her moving on from Duncan and learning to just ignore him was nice. The less said about her friendship with Gwen, the better. Though her romance with Scott was surprisingly cute. And even if Mal came in and ruined it in the form of the godawful Cameron x Courtney plot, it just made me feel bad for her on her end. But of course her elimination episode wiped its filthy ass with anything good she had going for her, by putting great emphasis on her worst qualities and amplifying them by 100, all in favor of mercilessly trashing on her. It's almost scary how similar her and Duncan are regarding how they were treated in All-Stars, from the writers having no idea what to do with them, to both having the most insulting send-offs in Total Drama history. They both had potential to develop for the better, only for it to be completely thrown away. But like Duncan, it doesn't mean there weren't some good things about her
8: Cameron (From a Badass…to a Dumbass) - Yet another character who falls victim to some of Total Drama's worst cases of character assassination during his elimination episode. But compared to Duncan and Courtney, he didn't have any significantly bad moments beforehand, plus still had some cool moments. Him using Scott as shark-bait in episode 8 was an interesting morally-gray moment, and a really cool strat that almost got him out of last place in the challenge. It's a shame his elimination episode completely forgets about his intelligence and even strips away all his senses of basic human decency during the Cameron x Courtney plot. Admittedly, he wasn't consistently remarkable beforehand. And narratively, he does rather little despite being one of the first people to catch onto Mal. Nonetheless, he still had his good moments for me
7: Scott (The Farm-boy Buffoon) - Despite his personality change, I still find Scott pretty enjoyable at his best. It’s nice that he mellowed out, and his goofy side is endearing, coupled with some especially hilarious moments. On top of that, we get some pretty nice insight on his outside life. His romance with Courtney was surprisingly cute initially. Though unfortunately, he doesn’t stick out very consistently for me. And while his new strategy of laying low and having a better social game is valid, it’s not really capitalized on, and the strategic side of him barely gets touched on beyond his few attempts to find the immunity totem. To make matters worse, he got painfully dumbed down at times for the sake of Mal, and even left a sour last impression in his elimination episode for that reason. While he is one of the better parts of late All-Stars, he still leaves a lot to be desired
6: Gwen (Better Friend than Girlfriend) - While Gwen was always flawed writing-wise, this is the one season where her portrayal is genuinely problematic. She acts crappy to Duncan and Courtney on multiple occasions yet gets victimized compared to them. Her romance- I mean friendship with Courtney is super forced and cringe, and showcases both of them coming out on top over Duncan, even though all three did wrong in the Love Triangle. At least that’s until Courtney’s heel-turn down the line happens and ends with Gwen herself coming out on top, and finally “escaping her toxic relationships and ending the season with better friends while both Duncan and Courtney suffer”. There are so many things wrong with this narrative. Though even then…these aforementioned flaws didn't take up that much of Gwen’s character for me. She still has a handful of good moments outside of Duncan and Courtney. Her friendships with Cameron and Zoey are both wholesome and really brought out her more likable qualities. Besides this, she still has plenty of individual moments I like. She’s especially amazing in episode 9 in particular. All things considered, Gwen is still a good but very flawed character this season, and I get why some dislike her. Though I think All-Stars has some of her best highs in a while (besides the Action special)
5: Lindsay (The Smartest Character of the Season) - It says a lot that the very first boot manages to crack more than the half-way spot up this list. Lindsay still has some especially funny jokes, and her characterization is honestly not as bad as some people make it out to be. Her stupid moment was only a one-scene joke that was followed up with her doing the challenge. Plus, I can at least meme and argue that she just acted dumb on purpose to quit the competition, which is based given how disastrous this season turned out at its worst. And it was even implied she wanted to leave at some points. While I wouldn't unironically call her the smartest character of the season, I think she is still funny and leaves relatively unharmed compared to other characters
4: Lightning (Sha-larious Early Boot) - Despite lasting for only two episodes, the dude really delivered. I'd argue he's even funnier here than in Revenge, his pre-recorded message to Jo being my favorite joke from him yet. The only disappointing thing about him is that his background with his dad didn't get expanded on at all, which even then, ties more to "What could've been" rather than an actual characterization flaw. He's easily the least scathed in a season full of terrible writing, and was a hilarious early-season presence. You especially gotta love his badass challenge performance in episode 1
3: Zoey (Warm and Competent) - I'll admit, she didn't have much of an arc, and her obliviousness to Mal gets increasingly hard to defend as the season goes on. She was also occasionally over-powered to an annoying degree (mainly episode 3). But she still has many great attributes. She made for a surprisingly good team leader and performed well in challenges, pulling some especially cool feats. Though on top of that, she was incredibly kind and tried to see the best in everyone. And both her performance and kindness made her incredibly likable and easy to root for. She had great interactions with multiple people outside of Mike, most notably Duncan, Gwen, and even Courtney sometimes. In fact, had the season did the conclusion of the Love Triangle more justice, Zoey would've been the perfect character to help the three patch things up. All things considered, I find her a deserving winner. And despite her flaws, she’s one of the better parts of the season and a great protagonist for All-Stars standards
2: Heather (The Afterglow of a Queen Bee) - Sure she kind of goes back to being mean, and her taking pride in her villainy doesn’t make much sense when you take the World Tour finale into consideration. Though at least she isn’t as bitchy as she was in Island. Her relationship with Alejandro is still just as fun as ever and sometimes brings out her nicer side. Plus, their feelings for each other even get expanded on nicely in the finale. And all things considered, she’s not that bad in her elimination episode, despite being questionable at one point. Also, "Nice Heather" was an absolute treasure (rhyme not intended)
1: Alejandro (Diamond in the Dump) - Amidst a season that screwed over many characters, Alejandro is the biggest highlight. Even then, his elimination episode made him look weirdly weaker than usual at some points. And he maybe could've done more with his schtick of pretending his legs are still asleep. But while not the absolute least scathed as a whole, he was the least scathed as well as one of the most interesting characters that lasted through the merge. Put in a somewhat similar position to Action Heather, he was forced to rely on just his skills to get as far as he did with no one trusting him anymore. And as I said, Aleheather was still very fun this season. Their back-and-forth dialogue made for a lot of entertaining moments, and I really enjoyed watching them play mind-games with each-other throughout. Despite this, they also had some sweet moments and proved to genuinely care for each-other. In addition to this, it was very satisfying seeing him stand up to his older brother. His rivalry with Mal also had some really cool moments, especially on Alejandro's behalf. And it was a rare interaction where Mal actually had more struggles and didn't consist of Alejandro being entirely dumbed down, even if Mal came out on top in the end. While his highs aren't as good as his World Tour iteration, I think All-Stars was a nice progression for Alejandro in some ways, and further proved that you can involve the guy in just about anything and make it interesting

Learning Russian with a 7yo
I'm a special needs assistant/caretaker of a second grader autistic boy, and since we began to work together last year, I identified his deep interest in the Russian alphabet! We have no idea where he got in contact with it in the first place (we are brasilian), but I have been trying super hard to encourage his interest and teach him Russian.
The only thing is... I don't know russian.
So we are basically learning together, with me finding the information, breaking down to his level, and them making worksheets and activities for him. His little brain is like a sponge, he just gets everything so fast, and corrects me when i forget something.
So, what do you guys think of my activities? Am i doing a decent job at all? There are any resources that i can find and maybe adapt for him? And how can i move on from just words, to frases? I being having sobe difficulties with this, as frases are not as straight forward to teach him as nouns and verds. Really, any positive criticism would be good!
Images: 1: him writing on the board. He writes the russian alphabet almost daily, it's a self soothing activity for him. (The little signs in the letters are eyebrows lmao, he does that to everything)
2-6: some of the worksheets i made for him since last year. He will always ace all of them and ask for more.
7: first try to introduce him to actual frases. I managed to teach him what it means, and he will respond if asked "Как вас зовут?" And will also respond correct if i point to someone and ask "Как его зовут?" But will not use the frase with me, as, obviously, he already knows my name and don't see a need to ask lmao😂
8: his favorite russian video. I also love it. Love this channel, and would love some recommendations for others.

2024.05.29 06:08 Kirby4ever24 High Kinlord Rilis XIII's letter on the High Kinlord Rilis XII incident

1st Rain’s Hand, 2E 500
College of Sapiarchs
As tensions caused by my father, Rilis XII (I’m not going to call him by his title) started to wane, the process of destroying his things had begun. My mother, High Kinlady Lorana is highly distraught over what happened during the past month. She wished that she would have known early enough to take action against him. Father had torn up my family to the point where we have to work hard to let people know that we are highly against necromancy. The Mages Guild helped by writing him out as one of the guild’s founders (I know you greatly hate the Mages Guild and see them as a threat, but you would be glad to know that they also hate necromancy). Firsthold will remain open to help the city heal. Hopefully my family’s reputation isn’t damaged beyond repair. While we are busy finding anything that belongs to my father that must be destroyed, I found this letter from my aunt, High Kinlady Curwafire crumbled and shoved in High Kinlord Torinaan’s sword’s scabbard. It’s slightly damaged, but still readable. I would like you to keep this letter to help showcase just how tense everything was to future generations in hope that such an event as this doesn’t happen again.
Brother, High Kinlord Rilis XII
Are you insane?! I knew that something was off in the past few years, from the ways your letters are written to how the people thought of you in the mere mention of your name! Don’t think that we have no idea what you have been doing! We know what you’ve been doing! As soon as rumors about you having a daedric “friend” started to float around, my son, King Hidellith started an investigation to see what is really happening. You like to think that we know nothing of what you’re doing, but you’re wrong, we know everything. King Hidellith told me everything that showed up in the investigation, and I promised him that I won’t tell you what we know until it’s time. It has finally gotten to the point that enough is enough! King Hidellith is starting to lose sleep because you are putting everyone in grave danger. This time, brother and I are not going to pull you out of trouble.
It saddens me greatly that the highly intelligent brave little boy had grown into a power hungry daedric worshiper. If mother were alive to see who you have become, she would die of a heart attack! Father would be extremely angry at the fact that you turned our ancestor’s castle, Castle Rilis into a daedric worshiper’s sanctuary where you can do who knows what without anyone noticing! Don’t even think about pleading for forgiveness. What was done is done, everyone in our family will no longer see eye to eye with you, let alone have any communication with you. You have gotten as low as any apraxic Mer could get, and no one wants someone like you on the throne of Firsthold. I really shouldn’t be writing a letter to you at this point!
C
As we all know, there was a short, but major battle barely a day after the letter arrived in my family’s manor. What happened before the battle was quite terrifying. When Rilis XII read the letter, he became very angry and summoned daedra to attack us. He was furious that someone had discovered that he had been working with Molag Bal. I was able to strike many daedra to the floor before all of us were captured and locked up in the manor’s prison. Father said that he would make us pay for exposing his plan. During the night, a scary looking daedra was guarding our cells, he would bang the cell doors and yell at us if we were to ever say a single word. It was a terrifying night and none of us were able to sleep. Mother was quietly sobbing while Kinlady Ayrsha and I were very quietly praying to the divines for our safety. Servants who didn’t die were forced to what they were told that night. Me, my sister, and mother are lucky to be alive as we were rescued the following day. King Hidellith easily fought the daedra that was guarding our cells and killed it. He explained to us that it took a combined strength of himself and High Kinlady Estolina to take Rilis XII down and contained. With Rilis XII stopped, he’s going to be locked up and strictly supervised in the Banished Cells for eternity. I hope that this event doesn’t give Molag Bal some ideas.
May Auri-El watch over us during this troubled time.
High Kinlord Rilis XIII.
[Here is an explanation on that family relationships between the characters here. Rilis XIII is Queen Ayrenn's second cousin, she wasn't born yet during the time of the incident. King Hidellith as we all know is Queen Ayrenn's father, is High Kinlord Rilis XIII's cousin. King Hidellith's mother is High Kinlady Curwafire is High Kinlord Rilis XII's little sister, second child of the family with their brother being the youngest. The mother mentioned by High Kinlady Curwafire is the second child of the High Kinship of Lillandril during the final years of the first era, she married High Kinlord Rilis XI. High Kinlady Estolina is the high kinlady of Lillandril, High Kinlord Rilis XIII is her brother in law through her brother's marriage with Queen Ayrenn almost a century later. I hope this is simple enough to understand. If you are wondering how the heck I'm able to keep up with this craziness, I have the family tree set up on a family tree website, Family Echo. There are other high kinships within their family tree, but let's leave it as is here.]

2024.05.29 06:05 ManicPixieMeanGirl_ On titles, and who exactly gets them, and which ones.

So, we all know Meghan loves her titles. Sorry, scratch that, she loves one of her titles. She uses Duchess of Sussex any chance she get, but won’t touch Countess and Baroness.
She has her minions call her “Princess Meghan”, which is incorrect. Meghan is not a British Princess suo jure, or “in her own right”. Iirc, the only suo jure British Princesses are: Princess Alexandra of Kent; Anne, Princess Royal; Princess Beatrice; Princess Eugenie; Princess Charlotte; Princess Diana Mary (Lilibet); and Lady Louise is entitled to the title of Princess if she so chooses.
Even Catherine, who we all love, cannot be called Princess Catherine. She is Catherine, The Princess of Wales. (If I got this wrong, someone please tell me). The media calling Diana “Princess Diana”, was inaccurate, as she was a Princess by marriage.
The monarch can issue Letters Patent naming someone a Prince or Princess of Great Britain. The late Queen, Elizabeth II, did this three times during her reign. I believe the order was Philip, Marina, and Alice.
Philip was born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, and was born in the line of succession to three thrones; Greece, Denmark, and Great Britain. He was never close enough to where it’d be likely he’d ever ascend, I just want to emphasize how he was born very Royal. Marina was also born a Princess of Greece and Denmark. She was also descended from the Russian Imperial Family. (And fortunately for her that she wasn’t considered a close or important member of that family!) I believe Marina had to give up her Princess title upon becoming the Duchess of Kent. Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was from an aristocratic family, but she was not Royal.
Philip was given his title of Prince about a decade after his marriage to QE2, in recognition of his loyal service to the Crown and to Her Majesty.
Upon the death and eventual marriage of her elder son, Marina would have become Marina, Dowager Duchess of Kent. She went to Her Majesty and asked to have the title of Princess again, in order to not cause confusion between her and her new daughter-in-law. The Queen granted her request, and she was made a British Princess. Alice had the same request of her niece upon the marriage of her younger son, the Duke of Gloucester after her husband passed. The Queen again granted the request of another aunt who had given many loyal years of service to the Crown.
So, not only can people be stripped of their titles-which happened during WWI in a delightfully petty jab at German royals with British titles-they can also be granted suo jure titles by the Monarch. Meghan, had she been genuine and devoted decades of service, could have eventually been made a British Princess. Instead, it’s looking more and more likely she will lose them instead.
Flaired as conspiracy because OBVIOUSLY laws and history don’t matter, she’s clearly not a Princess because the BRF is racist.
As usual, drinking wine while writing this, so please excuse any spelling/grammaslight factual errors.

2024.05.29 06:02 orgamitsuki What to do when he says he doesn’t want to get married.

“ What do you want to do without his reactions ?

How do you want to do without his reactions ?
Who do you give priority to within your inside ?
Do you give priority to his feelings within your inside ?
Do you give priority to your feelings within your inside ?
It’s so important to watch his actions more than his words for you.
Because his actions have his real feelings and his love more than his words.
What evaluations do you believe about you when he says he doesn’t want to get married ?
Do you feel like you don’t get married to him forever and do you feel your sorrow when he says he doesn’t want to get married ?

Believe your real feelings yourself.

It’s so important to take his love through his actions more than his words for you.

It's so important to shift to have your mind that you're just happy even you get married to him and you don't get married for you.
To find what you learn through him will liberate your inside more from your beliefs, will lead you into more happiness. “
I’m sharing my messages with you through reading two below, because two messages are similar.
I really understand your feelings, because I’ve gone through the feelings as the same with you.
“ I think the “with you” is silent “ from relationship_advice on reddit ( I don’t write the age for protecting your personal information.)
My boyfriend (●M) and I(●F) have been dating for almost a year. Prior to this, we were friends for about 3 years. During this time we discussed our views on marriage, more kids (we both have one from prior relationships), finances and such. Yesterday, I decided to ask if he sees a future with me, as far as marriage. His reply was “I do not believe in marriage but I see a long term relationship. Marriage is man made and we can make our own contract.” I felt blindsided because this was never his view, and I understand people can change.
I feel like it’s my fault because during our friendship and relationship, I was taking on roles that one would consider a wife would do. Maybe this is the reason why he doesn’t see the point in marrying me? I’m not sure, but it hurt. He then goes on to say I’m always a feeling a way..but wtf, how could I not? Has anyone else had to walk away from someone they love because of this? Am I being extra?
『 My boyfriend (●M) and I(●F) have been dating for almost a year. Prior to this, we were friends for about 3 years. During this time we discussed our views on marriage, more kids (we both have one from prior relationships), finances and such.

I feel like it’s my fault because during our friendship and relationship, I was taking on roles that one would consider a wife would do. Maybe this is the reason why he doesn’t see the point in marrying me? I’m not sure, but it hurt. 』
【My view】; It’s not your fault and not this reason which you were taking on roles that one would consider a wife would do. I truly understand your feelings that you’re not sure and it hurts, because I’ve also gone through the feelings as the same with you.
『 He then goes on to say I’m always a feeling a way..but wtf, how could I not? Has anyone else had to walk away from someone they love because of this? Am I being extra? 』
【My view】; I think that you are not being extra.
Regarding he then goes on to say you’re always a feeling a way, I guess that he’s always feeling a way. You don’t have to receive his words too much, You should watch his actions more than what he says to you, because his actions have his real feelings he doesn’t express and his love.

What is the most important means “ What do you want to do without his reactions ?

Do you want to get married to him ? “
It’s so important to cherish your feelings and what you really want to do with him for you without his reactions.
I truly understand that you will be feeling you won’t get married to him through his reactions and his words.
If you think that you have the reason you don’t get married to him, it will give you sufferings and sorrow more. That’s not your fault. While you feel like it’s your fault, you will focus the road of differing from love between you and him on your view.
Even when he says that to you, his words are not related to what he doesn’t get married forever.
Regarding you discussed your views on marriage and you asked him about a future with you, maybe he will be thinking about marriage with you, he didn’t escape from discussion about marriage with you even thought his reply was not what you wanted.
As you both have one kid from prior relationships, maybe he won’t have a good image about marriage, but he will be thinking that he wants to keep the relationship between you and him as he sees a long term relationship with you.
Maybe, he won’t be confident about marriage and making you happy with your kids, his images will give the influence more to marriage.
What do you think about marriage ?
Marriage means you put happiness on both you, you make you more happy, he makes you more happy, you make him more happy.
If you want to get marriage to him without his reactions, how to communicate with him and how to take his love through his actions will be necessary for liberating him from fear which he is not confident.
The relationship between you and yourself gives him the influence.
At first, “ What do you want to do without his reactions ?
Do you want to get married to him without his reactions ?
In my counselling,
  • You will get how to communicate with him for giving him confidence.
  • You will take his love through his actions rather than his words.
  • You will get what to do for keeping to believe your real feelings and what you really want to do with him.
  • To find what you learn through him will liberate you more, to fill the relationship between you and yourself with more happiness and freedom and peace will give a change to the relationship between you and him, you will get that.
" My [●F] boyfriend [●M] of 10 years doesn't want to marry me... yet. Should I leave? " from relationship_advice on reddit.
So me [●F] any my boyfriend [●M] have been together pretty much all of our early adult life. We've been living together for the past 5+ years as well. We are each others first girlfriend/boyfriend and are obviously in love with each other. Besides this one thing we're literally perfect for each other, have similar values and hobbies, lots of fun together etc.
He knew from the start that I do want to get married one day, even though I don't want to have children (he's on board with that), but I just love the idea of marriage. He has told me over and over again that he doesn't want to marry me... yet. His reason being that he doesn't have a lot of money right now (we both work and get by quite ok) or that he first wants to finish his bachelor study (which he also has been studying for the past 10 years with currently no end in sight)...etc. I've told him before that it doesn't have to be an expensive wedding and we would obviously be sharing the costs, but each talk about this ends up with either me crying and him comforting me or just him being annoyed. Sometimes he tells me that he doesn't want to get married as it won't change our relationship and there are many couples being happy together for years without ever getting married. Sometimes he promises me that he will definitely marry me one day. I'm tired of waiting yet I also feel like I might be asking for too much? I try to not pressure him at all and we maybe talk about this once or twice a year.
But then I see my friends getting married and get really sad wondering if I'm waiting for something that will never happen... am I wrong for thinking about leaving over this? Or should I just be happy with the relationship as it is and forget about the idea of marriage?
TLDR: Boyfriend gives me confusing answers about my wish to get married. Should I leave or just accept the idea of probably never getting married?

『 Sometimes he promises me that he will definitely marry me one day. I'm tired of waiting yet I also feel like I might be asking for too much? I try to not pressure him at all and we maybe talk about this once or twice a year. 』
【My view】; Regarding you try to not pressure him at all, Who do you give priority to within your inside ? Do you give priority to him within your inside ? He won’t notice what you do that even if you try to not pressure him at all, maybe such your action will make him lose being confident of making you happy in himself. What is the most important means your real feelings, doesn’t mean his feelings. Do you your best for your happiness ? and do you talk with him for your happiness ? It’s so important that you give priority to your real feelings within your inside for you.
For you, Cherish your real feelings which you want to marry him, so you may talk about this for many years more than once or twice a year, you should talk about your happiness with him more.
Regarding “ Sometimes he promises me that he will definitely marry you one day. “, that has his love through his actions and his behaviors, he will be thinking of your feeling which you want to marry him, his actions are full of his love although it will be not easy to notice his love through his actions and his behaviors more than his words.
He will be doing his best for your happiness, don’t you think that ? Don’t you believe his love ?
『 But then I see my friends getting married and get really sad wondering if I'm waiting for something that will never happen... am I wrong for thinking about leaving over this? Or should I just be happy with the relationship as it is and forget about the idea of marriage? 』
【My view】; Regarding you see your friends getting married and get really sad wondering if you’re waiting for something that will never happen,
Do you want to marry him ? or Do you want to get married ?
Do you consider about marrying him as your purpose ? or Do you consider about getting married as your purpose ?
If you see your friends getting married and you feel worried and you choose marriage, it will be broken, because that means you just want to get married, to marry him is not a purpose.
What is the most important means “ What do you want to feel through marrying him ?
What do you want to do through marrying him ?
What do you want to feel ? after you get married to him.
Do you want to deepen more love between you and him through marriage ? Is that right ?
Regarding you get really sad wondering if you’re waiting for something that will never happen,
You will feel like you won’t marry him forever through his words and his behaviors,Do you consider what he doesn’t marry you as he doesn’t marry you forever ? If you consider that and you believe that, you will suffer from your beliefs.
I understand your feelings you feel like his words he doesn’t want to marry you reach your thought which you won’t marry him forever, you feel like that never happen, because I’ve also gone through the feelings as the same with you.
For him, his words which he doesn’t want to marry you don’t reach your thought which you won’t marry him forever. In my counselling, you will find what you learn through him, you will notice the meaning of my words more deeply.
Regarding “ am I wrong for thinking about leaving over this ? Or should I just be happy with the relationship as it is and forget about the idea of marriage ? “ and your tittle “ your boyfriend of 10 years doesn’t want to marry you..yet. Should you leave ? ”,
Do you give priority to him ? What do you want to do without his reactions ?
Do you want to marry him without his reactions ?
What do you want to do with him through marriage ?
Do you want to deepen more love between you and him through marriage ?
If you feel happiness with him and you want to marry him without his reactions, you should cherish your real feelings you want to marry him and you should choose what you want to marry him.
Because to forget about the idea of marriage means you abandon your real feelings which you want to marry him, you restrain your real feelings, you ignore your real feelings.
You follow your real feelings which you want to marry him and you want to be happy more for your happiness, you follow your real feelings more honestly for you, so you can believe in you and him. Giving priority to him within your inside makes you lie to your real feelings which you want to marry him, makes you ignore your real feelings, makes you restrain your real feelings. That means you don’t fill the relationship between you and yourself with happiness and freedom.
It’s so important that you just are happy with the relationship as it is for you and him.
Regarding “ Sometimes he promises me that he will definitely marry me one day”,
That’s his love and his action and his behavior, do you believe him ? That means “ How much do you believe that you deserve to take happiness more through him ? Do you believe in you unconditionally ? Do you believe him as well as you believe in you unconditionally ?
You follow your real feelings more honestly for your happiness, so you can believe in you and him.
If you don’t cherish your real feelings which you want to marry him and you don’t follow your real feelings for your happiness through giving priority to him, you won’t be able to believe in you and him.
You don’t have to give priority to his feelings within your inside. Because you won’t feel happiness while you adjust to his words and you abandon your real feelings which you want to marry him.
While women adjust to men, women can’t be happy.
If you had the opposite situation, “ What would you have felt ? if he had told you that he wanted to marry you but you had told him that you didn’t want to marry him yet, if he had thought to leave you and he had tried to find other person for marriage, what would you have thought ? don’t you dislike that ? “, You try to give him that.
If you face your real feelings you want to marry him and you face him through your honesty, your honesty will inspire him..
Probably, he won’t be confident of making you happy in himself through marriage.
What you do for being confident in himself means
  • You take his love through his actions and his behaviors more than his words.
  • You tell him what you take his love through his actions and his behaviors.
  • You follow your real feelings more honestly for you through your life and him.
  • You keep to tell him your real feelings more honestly and what you’re glad and you feel sorrow and you get angry and what makes you happy more.
  • You keep to tell him what you want to do with him and you want him to do for your happiness and your joy without his reactions.
What is necessary for doing that means
  • You let go your beliefs and your evaluations of restricting unconditional love.
  • Love you think is in the outside of love he thinks, you keep to shift your view to the outside of your beliefs and the outside of love you think.
  • You keep to believe your real feelings which you want to do with him more honestly without his reactions.
  • You accept your real feelings and your existence unconditionally.
In my counselling,
  • You need to follow your real feelings more honestly for taking his love through his actions and his behaviors , you need to accept your real feelings and yourself unconditionally for taking his love, so you will get how to take his love and how to tell him your feelings and your happiness and your sorrow and your anger, how to accept yourself unconditionally.
  • You will find what you learn through him and your life, to find what you learn through him will reach your understanding about that and my messages.
  • To find what you learn through him will help what you believe your real feelings more honestly for you, what you follow your real feelings and you share your real feelings with him.
  • You will deepen more love between you and him through sharing your real feelings more honestly with him and taking his love from his actions and his behaviors, being confident of making you happy in himself.
『 TLDR: Boyfriend gives me confusing answers about my wish to get married. Should I leave or just accept the idea of probably never getting married? 』
【My view】; “ What do you want to do without his reactions ? Do you want to marry him without his reactions ? You don’t have to leave and you don’t have to accept the idea of probably never getting married if adjusting to his thoughts makes you lie to your real feelings and abandon your real feelings which you want to marry him.
Probably, he won’t be confident of making you happy in himself.
In my counselling,
  • You will get how to communicate with him for being confident of making you happy in himself.
  • You will get what you give to yourself and what you say to him for deepening more love between you and him.
  • You will notice his love more, to notice his love will help you more happily.
  • You will get what you give to yourself for shifting to your mind that you're just happy even you get married to him and you don't get married.

2024.05.29 05:50 its_me_pg_99 3 FINRA and 2 NASAA Tests taken down in 5 months. You can do it too!

Hi everyone,
I'm a brand-new brokeinvestment adviser rep just starting out, and having gone through multiple exams and passing them all on the first try, I thought I'd give my 2 cents on how you can pass them, hopefully in a quicker time than me! I'll go through each test and my personal experience, then I'll explain the methods I actually used and how you can customize them to your needs.
SIE - I literally had zero experience in the securities industry when I started studying. I wasn't sure what to think after the first lesson, but I found it interesting! It took me a little over 2 months to prepare (I used Kaplan for all my tests). I studied for about 2.5 to 3 hours each day, and made sure to take plenty of notes. I found the real test was actually easier than the Final and Mastery Exams. Lots of questions of options, the primary/secondary markets, investment companies and the Acts; overall a good mix.
Series 6 - Immediately started prepping the day after passing the SIE; passed it about a month later. Suitability was the key point of emphasis; I memorized the suitability chart that they gave in the textbook and that helped a ton. Real test had a lot more scenario based questions asking you to pick the right type of investment for a customer. Tbh I was feeling a little nervous for this one since I had failed the second Mastery Exam, and this was three days before my test date. The key difference between this one and the SIE was that the latter had a broad amount of material, while the 6 asked you how products actually worked. I'd say this was the second hardest for me.
Series 63 - Again, started prepping the day after passing the 6. I'm being 100% honest here, it was almost pure memorization. I memorized the exempt transactions/securities, as well as the exemptions and exclusions for broker-dealers, agents, investment advisers, and investment adviser reps by writing them down over and over again (on my laptop to save trees lol). Also, knowing the legal terms was key, because this was a state law exam by NASAA (so don't confuse their rules with FINRA's). The Mastery Exams were a breeze, and the real test was definitely the easiest out of the bunch for me.
Series 26 - Here's where things start to get tougher. The info that I'd learned from the SIE and 6 (they're prerequisites for this one) came back to me, and I had to remember that it was important to look at it from a supervisor's POV, because a lot of questions were going to be based on this (i.e. "A rep commits X, what should the principal do to handle this situation?") The material itself was stuff that had already been drilled into me, but being a 110-question test, I had to time myself to keep pace on the practice tests. On the actual test, I was able to answer all the questions within 2 hours, and that gave me enough time to do a second-run through. Not too bad all in all; for me it was a tad bit easier than the SIE.
Series 65 - Oh boy. Let me tell you guys something that'll save you a ton of headaches later on: DO. NOT. TAKE. THIS. TEST. LIGHTLY. I just passed it last week, and if it hadn't been for the countless hours of studying I'd put in, I most likely would've failed. This literally had all of the material from the previous tests, including the entirety of the 63. On top of that, it also had federal laws that needed to be recognized from the state-level ones. The Kaplan course had 24 units to cover all the material, and a little over 4200 QBank questions. A huge mistake I made was not using all of them up. After taking the 2nd Mastery and all of the practice tests, I had answered around 3000 questions. After some debating on whether I should study some more or schedule, although I was still shaky in a few areas, I decided to go for it. The real test started out easy, and by questions 30-40, I was feeling like I might fail. But I stayed calm and focused on doing my best. I was super grateful for knowing those formulas, as a couple of questions didn't ask for calculations, but simply what they were. The ones that did ask to calculate tripped me up a bit, but I made my best picks/guesses. After answering all the questions with about 50 minutes left, I changed 2 answers; one because I didn't read the question properly and the other because I found another question that helped to answer. As you can imagine, this test was easily the toughest out of them all. I was more than thankful to see that "Pass" appear after clicking "Submit".
So there's my story! Sorry for the long paragraph on the 65; I actually cut out some more sentences to try and shorten it as much as possible. To cap everything off, I'll go through the main strategies I used, and how you can customize them to your will (Although I used Kaplan, they can probably work for other programs as well).
1) Do many practice tests. After each practice test, read the explanations throughly. Understand why you got the question right or wrong. The real test will almost certainly have different wording than the prep course you're using, so understanding the concept allows you to answer correctly regardless of how the question is asked. When I was using the QBank questions, I made sure to set the custom quiz to pull unused questions from the pool, so I didn't know what would appear next.
2) Make acronyms/phrases. They can be about absolutely anything (a movie, a life experience, etc). Anything that you can connect a group of bullet points or a concept to make it easier to remember is a good thing. For instance, I was having trouble with SEP IRAs, and it kept mentioning that only the employer contributes to this type of IRA. So to help me remember, I made the phrase "Solely Employer Puts In" (the first letter of each word makes SEP and I for IRA). Any silly way to hammer that point in means you won't forget come test time.
3) Record yourself saying concepts and phrases, and put it on loop. I started doing this a bit for the 26, and a LOT for the 65. Try to say what you want to say in a minute or less (absolute max of 1min30s). Once you put your recording on loop, you can listen to it over and over again, and this actually forces the info into your brain without you having to think or work too much. After listening to each recording however many times you like, try to write down what you heard. If you can't remember, just keep playing the recording until you've got it memorized.
4) Watch YouTube videos. Please be careful with this one, and make sure you use videos that are up to date (some videos were created years ago and thus pieces of info may not be current). Series7Guru with Dean and PassMasters with Suzy Rhoades are two excellent channels to look into. You never know, these videos may just help you snag an easy point or two on your real test ;)
If you're still here after getting through this humongous post, I wish you best of luck in not just your tests, but your future careers! Take care!

2024.05.29 05:44 GalaxiGazer N is for "Neutral"

Dear A,
Again, this is my therapy. But, this time, the energy that's powering this piece to you is strictly neutral. Back in the days when we were talking, you were amused by how I was able to explain things in terms of cars and their related functions. Think of this letter to you as the shift lever indicator, and the setting is on N. No, this is not in reverse, as I'm not looking back or seeing you in terms of the past. I'm also not shifted in D, being able to press on the accelerator and drive our connection forward. The appropriate indicator regarding our connection is on neutral. Yes, the vehicle is in motion, but the speed reflected on the dashboard is a representative of past energy. Therefore, while it is moving forward and in motion, it will eventually slow down. At that point, then, I can finally shift into park and this journey will be over completely.
The me from 2021 was not happy that you had cut off connection and all forms of contact with me. The me from 2021 was looking for you, trying very hard to fix anything and everything that had gone wrong, and used every available resource I had to attempt to make things right.
However, the me in 2024 and onward ... doesn't want you to come back. I can accept how things had turned out. I'm still learning my lessons and growing. I don't foresee any future involvement with you, friendship or otherwise, yet I also don't hate you either. My energy towards you is neutral. It is necessary for me to spill these words into the universe, to affirm that I have earned the right to welcome any new connection that may be due my way. This is for me to present myself before the universe, prepared to give an account for executing any/all resources I had, in my attempts to either reconcile with you or to pursue closure.
FWIW, I don't want you to think or entertain yourself with any ideas that I'm holding the door open for you, checking my inbox, or waiting by the phone. Sure, you can if it will help you to sleep at night, but the universe is very well aware and knows what's what. So, I will leave it there.
Or I can give you the tl:dr musical version ...
Me in 2021: 🎶When you left, I lost a part of me. It's still so hard to believe. Come back, baby, please because we belong together.🎶 😭 (Mariah Carey)
Me in 2024: 🎶You ain't nothin' but a heartache. You ain't nothin' but a mistake. I celebrate this truth everyday ... I'm glad it worked out that way.🎶 😊 (Backstreet Boys, The Remix)
Stay blessed,
~ K

2024.05.29 05:40 Empty_Page_9107 Three Things, um, like the Trinity

Jesus declares "death do you part" is literal during his interrogation with the Sadducee Jews in Luke. Nobody is married in Heaven.
St. John the Baptist is the Last Prophet of Israel. Jesus fulfills a prophecy with this. Hence there has not been any prophets since not Muhammed nor the buffoons in Salt Lake City. There will NEVER be another prophet because God has sent The Advocate.
And lastly, "apostasy" means "to fall".
Jesus says, "The Church" will NEVER fall.
In Greek at the time of writing, there were no capital letters nor lower case letters.
He didn't say, "some church", "all churches" nor even "the church".
What he said was a proper noun or "The Church".
And Jesus is on a 2,000yr hot streak as The Holy Catholic Church is the longest standing, uninterrupted organized institution on planet Earth.
Now, this is not to say Jesus says only Catholics go to Heaven, of course not!
Luke 12:48, "For those who are Ignorant and deserve a severe beating, will instead receive a light beating".
Luke 16 also differentiates Hades from the place where light beatings take place.
Light beatings take place in Purgatory, Limbo or Abe's Bosom.
Also, see Romans 3:23, no group is sacred for "All have sinned". He is not talking about personal sin but groups of people see verse 28. Not the Jews, Not the Catholics and certainly not some goofy false teacher teaching 'once saved always saved" are all going to Heaven. God created nuance for a reason!
It's personal not about a group!
In fact, the closer you are to God, the more likely you go to Hades hence Luke 12:48.
We see this play out with the Apostles when they had "Faith Alone" and scattered like cockroaches to when The Church Jesus "built" was born.
It's "for God so loved the World" not "for God so loved the faithful" you buffoon.
NOTHING is required from the Ignorant. Not even Faith! Because that is what "love" is you moron. It's unconditional.
What did I not say? I didn't say all are saved like Titus 2:11 says, of course not, reread what I said. There is no literal "all". It's personal!
There is no prophet after St. John the Baptist. Steer clear of any liars declaring a false prophet after Jesus.
If you want Scripture on The Last Prophet being St. John the Baptist, all you got to do is seek and ask.
God will provide!
If you believe there is a prophet after Jesus, you are like Adam who WANTED to be deceived. Yes, that's how it works, you want to be deceived. God will give NO QUARTER to those who are deceived by stupid lies. Hence he calls the moron "Faith Alone" Apostles "orphans" at The Last Supper.
So, what did we learn?
Jesus is on a 2,000yr hot streak and there is no latter day church.
There is no prophet after Jesus muslim or Salt Lake City.
And nobody is married in Heaven per Jesus during his interrogation. Death do you part is literal. The false teachers in Salt Lake declare you are married eternally.
And a 4th thing, but not a main teaching point, you don't have to be Catholic, have faith or be in a group to go to Heaven. For God so loved the world!

2024.05.29 05:31 sleepycheese22 Write a letter to them

I usually keep a diary and talk about him, but recently I’ve started writing letters directly addressed to him about how I’m feeling about the break up. It’s really been helping me talk more openly about things and it sort of feels nice to “tell” him what I’m thinking (even though I’ll never actually send the letters to him). I feel like I can sort of practice the things I want to say to him when we inevitably meet somewhere again and also sort through any unhelpful feelings before that might happen.
I just kind of wanted to suggest this on here in case it would help anyone else to heal too. Because I see that a lot of people want to reach out to their ex, and same, but if you know it would be best not to, then “pretending” to might help more. Has anyone else done this?

2024.05.29 05:22 sidereddit123 Advice?

A friend I was close to for the last several years decided to end our friendship really passive aggressively. We were trying to work through an issue and then they suddenly blocked me on everything and are just deleting any evidence of our friendship.
I know I’ve had my own faults in the relationship and in some ways it’s good that the friendship has ended because in hindsight they weren’t a very good friend to me (i.e. they’ve been going around telling our mutual friends a very edited version of events to gain sympathy, I’m lucky in that they realized what was going on and don’t believe what they’ve been told), but it still hurts like hell. This is someone I really cared (and still care) for and I just don’t know how to not feel so upset about how everything went down. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle the hurt? I know that time will help but right it’s so fresh.
Also, apologise in advance if this is something that’s been posted already or is very vague i just didn’t want to write a huge essay. Feel free to ask any questions.

2024.05.29 05:18 humbleandhustle 6 years later, I finally hit 'send'

I know you're not going to text me back and I don't blame you. It took me years to process how we ended and how I fucked up. Writing a letter to you, which admittedly is an apology, was one of the hardest things I've done. I never even wanted to send it in the first place because I didn't want to disrupt your life or trigger you in any way. But someone on Reddit commented that this is the apology that many others would have wanted but never got, so how can I not?
While I am relieved that I finally reached out, I know that I can't expect anything in return. But a part of me still wants to hear from you -- How are you doing? How's your family? How's your heart? I have no intentions of trying to get back with you or work my way back to your life. I just want to know that you're okay. I just want to see you win. I just want to see you thrive. I just want to see you bloom.
This probably won't mean anything to you (at least anymore), but you were a big part of my character development. The worst mistake I made was hurting you but please know that I've worked on my mind and I've worked on my heart. I owe this to you and I owe this to myself. I will always wish you the best, I'm sending love your way, and I'll forever be grateful for you.

2024.05.29 05:17 Warbly-Luxe I didn't realize how ableist my parents are until now...

[CW: talk of ableism and trauma]
——————————-
TL;DR: My dad said to my mom when I took out my new fidget toy after a fairly traumatic day: “he’s (not my preferred pronouns) just going into ‘Autistic Mode’”. He said that he would look into group homes tomorrow again because I “treat them like shit”. I shut down around them, and have been doing so for at least a week or more. I don’t have a job, freshly graduated from college as of December, and I have been struggling to get interviews. I have been using my university’s career services and got accepted into Vocational Rehab, but my parents keep threatening to kick me out of the house and be done with me.
——————————
For reference, I am highly confident I am Autistic and ADHD, but I have not been officially diagnosed. I have a referral and am in the process. My med manager is treating me with non-stimulants which work well and have increased executive function. I have also been exploring my being queer over the last few years, but only recently tried to explain to my parents in totality last November.
I knew they are queerphobic, and I knew that I annoy / upset them when I don’t talk and engage, and that when I talk it’s too much and not about the right thing. I just wanted to believe I was wrong. I wanted to believe I was reading into things because I’ve had so many past experiences where what I felt and what I thought turned out to be false. And they say they love me, and they love me so much that they hate to see me in pain, and so I wanted to believe that it’s true.
The last few days have been hard. My parents had family friends over (that have known me since I was a baby, and they have two adult children that didn’t come this round) for memorial day weekend from out of state. Since seeing the friends last, I have been doing a lot of self-discovery and further accepting the queer parts of myself. I hadn’t been planning to change my name, until by happenstance I found one online that I wanted to be mine due to it's simplicity and androgynous nature. But my parents (and my brother, though he has trans friends) have not been supportive. I just thought they raised me and gave me a name they picked out and so didn’t want to use a new one. It doesn’t make it better, but it’s something.
But they have made it clear in past conversations that it would be unfair for me to tell family friends and extended relatives. And so I spent all of last week before the weekend trying to debate whether I should tell the family friends that were coming over in a text message before they arrived. I tried to summon the courage, but I ended up not doing that. So when I first saw them, I shut down when their first words were “Hey, ”. I decided that I would make myself scarce because I knew I would just keep shutting down and having trouble speaking with them. Literally, it would be the same as with my parents where either the words don’t come or I don’t have the energy to get them past my throat.
So, I tried to be polite when I saw them and just didn’t engage in extensive conversation. When they left, my dad told me I was rude and selfish, and that I need to write them a letter to apologize. I ended up sending them a text today to apologize (didn't explain everything), but I didn’t want to send a letter because I am tired of using my dead name, and I would need to sign it.
I have been trying to avoid my parents even though we live in the same house because I don’t have a job yet. I recently graduated from college in December, but I have not been able to get interviews. I have been making use of my university’s career services and made appointments with the head of engineering to make my resume more appealing in terms of software engineering. I graduated with Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Computer Science, Creative Writing, and Linguistics. I just want a job right now, and computer jobs pay well. I am hoping to figure out something beneficial in Creative Writing later, maybe Ghost Writing or something that might pay better than that. I also got accepted to use Vocational Rehab, and so I have been working with them.
But, since I am avoiding my parents, they believe I am trying to make it clear that I hate them. They consistently say that I “treat them like shit” and I am “lazy and just want an easy life”. Today has been a hard day after all the turmoil over the last week, and so I have had very little energy. I thought I could be experiencing depression, but I know what that feels like and where it leads. I am not there yet. So, I think the best word to describe it is probably dejected. Like the people who are constantly in my life don’t want me. In the late afternoon, I decided I didn’t just want to sit up in my room anymore, so I drove down to my bookstore to browse, and then checked to see if I could refill my meds. I had about an hour where I started feeling happy and enjoying myself, especially being able to browse the books and look at the descriptions on the back and recording the ones I want to read for later.
When I got home for dinner so my parents didn’t get mad, it was like all that happiness disappeared the moment I saw them. I could not move my face even if I wanted to, to pretend like I was cheery and all right. We got dinner out, and then I sat down. The counselor I like seeing at career services is also an ADHDer. I saw her last week to go over more plans for jobs, and she showed me the various baskets of stim toys she keeps on her bookshelf to hand out to students. She gave me one that’s a tightly knit, long rectangle and has a small glass ball inside. You squeeze it and the ball moves back and forth.
I haven’t used stim toys much growing up because I thought I was supposed to bear all the frustration and anxiety. But I have been trying to treat myself kinder over the last few months. So, I’ve been taking that stim toy with me, and had it when I went to the bookstore. With dinner set up, my parents were trying to get me to interact and “be better”. Without thinking, I took out the stim toy. My dad said I was going into “Autistic Mode” and that they can’t do anything. He will look at group homes again tomorrow.

Up until that moment, I had doubts. I thought that they really were trying to accept me and it was just hard, especially with all the queerness and years of mental health management (since 2019 when I broke down). But over the last month or so, I’ve had various times where I needed to record my mental health history for intake and I started talking about my parents and how I am starting to recognize the gaslighting and emotional abuse.
I have also been trying hard to remember the good moments. But I can't remember a moment where I was showing signs I am clearly Autistic or ADHD, and that they genuinely enjoyed and loved it. Especially as I've gotten older. I remember them expecting me to get good grades in school from the beginning. If it wasn't "A"s they were upset, and if I failed a test they told me to study again and took me down to school to convince the teacher to let me test again. If I couldn't prove I knew the material and the teacher didn't let me retake it, then I was shunned on the way home.
I want so much to be wrong. I want so much for them to be right and that it's me who is abusing them like they say it is. I don't know why--I don't really feel any emotional love for them and I don't think I ever did, I just don't want them to suffer--but if I am the one who's hurting them then maybe I can change and stop. Maybe I can get better and show them love and be nice to them like they deserve. I wouldn't need to make a plan to estrange myself from them when I am on my feet to better take care of myself. I wish it was me.
I don't know why I am writing all of this. You all have your own problems and don't need to load on mine, and I am not going to pretend I have it the worst even just in my own city. I also feel manipulative, like I am only writing the bad parts and that I should try to remember and describe the good parts.
I just don't have anyone I can talk to right now. I have been out of therapy for a few months. I have been on wait lists for more experienced therapists dealing with gender-affirming care, since that has become a bigger problem. I have something scheduled for the middle of next month with a more general therapist and a referral to a specialized therapist as well.
But I just want to talk to someone who understands. I don't have that in my life. When doctors ask me if I have anyone I can just vent to or trust, I can't think of anyone. I have one friend, but since graduating we only meet up once a month. I can share a lot with her and she is supportive, but then I feel like that one meeting is filled with me trying to vent and seek therapy from her. I don't really want more social interaction, but I want to feel like someone sees me, the real me, and they actually like what they see.
I plan to call the suicide hotline tomorrow. Not because I am suicidal, but because I was told I don't need to be suicidal to call. I know my parents will hear me on the phone if I call tonight, and I don't really want to spend a long time writing out the words in a text to the text number to explain everything when the person on the other end might not be able to fully understand, and so they would just tell me what they think I need to hear. But I guess I'd get the same from the phone call.
I don't know how to wrap this up, and it sounds when I read this over like I am quite lucid and therefore being petty by putting this here. I am lucid, but it doesn't really help me feel better. I can't lie to myself anymore; I've been trying so hard to not lie to myself when I spot it. I am sorry for the long rambling and various tangents. I just want to put this somewhere where people might understand.

2024.05.29 04:56 Parking-Spare-1729 I need to find courage from somewhere.

I need to send a letter to someone. I need to apologize to them. I also want to tell them how I feel about them. It may be the only chance I ever get to. I have the letter all written up and ready to send, but I cannot get myself to do it. I got help from chat GPT to clean it up. I didn't get it to write it for me, just helped to put things in order. It was a mess of my thoughts and full of questions. Now there is only one civil question in the whole thing.
I've had a motivational saying written down on a piece of paper, sitting in my line of sight. It's all the motivation I need, but I just cannot overcome my personal shyness.

2024.05.29 04:43 Far-Season-5083 My son is behind, I don’t know what to do and his father won’t help

My son is 4 years old and started preschool in the fall. I was working day shifts from 6am-3:30 or 4:00 and my son’s father wasn’t working so he would take him to school in the morning; we also live across the street from each other which is super convenient. Things were going great until Christmas break ended. After the break, his father’s car broke down and he was unable to drive him to school. I suggested that he walk him to school but he refused, claiming that the school was too far and he would be too tired despite him not working. For 2 months my son would sit in the house playing on his tablet for hours until I got home because his father didn’t want to entertain him. I personally have no problem with my son having a tablet but I never wanted him to be on it for long periods of time. The rule at my house is 1 hour on school nights and 2 hours on the weekend, he spends most of his day outside on the weekends anyway. However, his father allows him to do whatever he wants and doesn’t monitor what he watches. As soon as I get home my son comes and gets dressed for the first time all day and goes outside to play with his cousins who have just gotten out of school. I would cook and get him into bed by 9. I don’t only throw blame on his father because I know that I’m at fault as well because I wouldn’t work with my son on his reading in writing but in my defense I was exhausted from work.
I say all this to say that my son is behind in school and I don’t know how to help him. He started going back to school in March. The other kids in his class are writing their names and can recognize letters but he can’t do any of that. I recently went on medical leave so I am at home all day with him and I try to help teach him. His teachers don’t have time to help him catch up and always say that he isn’t a good student. I’ve bought work books, flash cards, and even customized print outs of his name for him to trace. I tried out learning videos on YouTube like Blippi and Ms. Rachel but he shows no interest and would rather use his tablet to play games. He doesn’t like any educational shows and will only watch shows like Pj mask and other things that I think are too overstimulating. I am struggling to get him interested in learning. I know that consistency is important and I work on it everyday but I can’t control what he does at his dad’s house and I definitely can’t keep him from going there without causing problems. However, he has no interest in helping his son because he’s says that he’s tired after work and doesn’t want to be bothered. My daughter was able to recognize letters and type things out when she was 4 even though she didn’t go to preschool due to covid. I just don’t know what to do anymore. Please if you have any tips on how I can teach him to recognize letters and engage in learning I’d greatly appreciate them!
