2024.05.29 04:38 eng33 Street food

I'll be in Manila Sat afternoon - Tues morning.
I'd like to eat mostly Street food. As a solo traveler, I prefer getting smaller portions so I can try more. It's also easier to have multiple options on one place
From some research, I've made a list:
Tutuban, ugbo, quiapo, Legazpi, binondo What are the hours for these markets? Are some not open at night? Are any not worth it? Did I miss any good ones?
Lots of articles recommend "Mercato Centrale BGC" but it seems to be closed. However I think there are other "Mercato Centrale" locations. Not exactly sure which ones is best.
My info may be out of date or wrong but that's what I found.
These are the main for of interest: Lechon, Adobo, sisig, tapsilog, lumpia, bbq (stuff in a stick), taho, turon, banana cue, halohalo
Which markets are best for which items? Which should I seek a restaurant? I'm limited on time so I can't go-to a restaurant for all. That's the reason for the street market. I plan to go-to a restaurant for lechon.
I'm not sure exactly where I'll go outside of food. Definitely okada to see the fountains. Also Intramuros, Rizal park, bay walk. I might check out some malls to get away from the heat

2024.05.29 04:09 playapacz [NF] To the Moon and Back

Took a day trip and wrote this around 9:30PM. Enjoy.
Everyone has those dreams they want to accomplish in a lifetime. The ones that seem so far fetched but still obtainable. In my case it has always been on my bucket list to travel every corner of Texas. I have been blessed in my 27 years of life to have gone as far north to see the Panhandle plains near Amarillo and as far east to see Huntsville surrounded by the piney woods. I’ve been able to see the Third Coast from H-Town through Corpitos, down to McAllen and Harlingen. I’ve drank on 6th Street in ATX, and have had countless nights I couldn’t remember in San Anto. I’ve seen a Cowboys game in Arlington while staying in Dallas with family, and I’ve floated down the rivers in San Marcos with friends. I know the backroads of South Texas between Uvalde and Laredo, like the back of my hand, and if I needed too, I could probably drive between El Paso and Fort Stockton blindfolded. In the past 4 years, I’ve spent the majority of the 100,000 miles I’ve driven, on Texas highways and county roads. Passing through small towns that people would never know existed, such as Dryden, Camp Wood, Orla, Goliad, and Dilley, where my son lives. There’s so many other cities and towns I could name which would take up the majority of this story and bore you but there is one area of Texas that I’ve always wanted to see with my own eyes and be able to experience it all. This place is actually a lot closer than many of the places I mentioned. It’s pretty much the next door neighbor to my hometown of El Paso.
On December 28, 2023, I was finally able to see it. Big Bend and Terlingua. As I was driving into the national park I stopped at the park’s entrance sign and took a typical picture in front of it like everyone does, but after, I turned back down the road, made a right and drove 28 miles to La Linda. I did this all without having a GPS or signal on my phone after I lost it passing Marathon which about an hour or so from the park entrance. I followed the old green highway signs down a road that you could tell was hardly used because of all the weeds and brush growing in the middle and side of the road. I was probably the only truck on the road with the expection of two trucks going the opposite direction that had passed me. I kept going until the road ended at a blocked off bridge that only a small car could drive over. The only time I had ever seen this place was through Google Maps when I’d sit there looking at random places that you’d think no one would ever go. I got off my truck and look around, it was quiet but the sound of the river is what got me. It was surreal to say that across that bridge was Mexico and the river I heard was the Rio Grande, which surprisingly had water in it and wasn’t dry like the way it is in El Paso. As I was looking at the graffiti on the bridge I noticed a part of it said “Chuco Town” which I though was weird because why would some slang from El Paso be tagged on some random bridge literally in the middle of nowhere. So I got curious and ended up making my way down underneath the bridge where I found this clear box with a small notebook in it. Several people had written in it with their names and when they had visited the bridge. It was like an Easter egg. I wrote my name in the book, put it back and went to go look for a way to get to the river but I couldn’t because of all the bushes and trees. I spent like a good hour looking around before getting back to my truck. I ended up driving about two hours to the Big Bend National Park Headquarters where I finally got signal on my phone. The drive into the Chisos Basin was beautiful. The color of the rocks and trees made it feel as if it was still the Fall season. The canyons were huge, the road curved through the mountains, the air hitting me through the windows was fresh. Seeing the amount of trees, for the mountain range being in the middle of a desert was crazy. Again, I only spent about an hour or so before driving through the park and into Terilingua. As I drove to Terlingua, the scenery changed drastically. It went from mountains covered in trees to something out of a Mad Max scene. It was nothing but desert with little plant life. I ended up stopping at a gas station where two the highways met. One would take me to Alpine and the other to the Terlingua ghost town. After fueling up, I drove through the ghost town to find a couple of restaurants open. I ended up eating some green enchiladas that were good but nothing compared to the ones found in El Paso. I continued to drive down the highway towards Presidio as the sun started to set. About half way to Presidio, I turned back around to head back. By this time it was 7pm. The sun had almost set completely. I pulled over to the side of the road so I could look at the sky. I had heard so many stories and seen so many pictures of the Terlingua night sky. I wanted to see if it was real. As I stepped out and looked up I saw more stars than I could ever imagine. Everything around me was pitch black, except the sky. There were hundreds of stars, they were brighter than ever. There were no clouds. I stayed looking at them for a good minute, actually I stayed looking up so long I ended up laying in the bed of my truck trying to take it all in. I ended having to go back into my truck because of the cold. Even with a thick hoodie and thermals underneath I couldn’t stay out any longer. I continued my drive back to the gas station where I had first put gas so I could type this out before my plan to head back into Big Bend. I only arrived about 8 hours ago, drove down to the La Linda bridge, drove through the national park, drove through the ghost town and saw a night sky many wont get to see in their lifetime but maybe on this drive back, I’ll be able to find the moon.

2024.05.29 04:03 LowFront6713 Did I(F28) choose the right man(M25)

Last year Fall, I met two men, both friends. I found them very sweet and friendly. I didn’t think anything much of them. The friendship grew and certain interest developed but I was not sure which one I liked more. After a few months they hosted a party at their house (they are also roommies). I got so drunk, one of them (man A) offered his room, he later joined me later that night. He made moves, but I insisted I had to be sober for anything to happen. The next day he visited me at my place and we talked of our interest and stuff and agreed to take it slow. He later came the next day and one thing led to another, we did it. I traveled to another country for a month then came back. We kept talking the whole time and most of our conversation was how we’d hang out and couldn’t wait to explore places together. I returned during the peak of Winter so there was really nothing much to do outside. We mostly hand indoors. We one day hang out the three of us during the winter and I realized me and the other guy(man B) had so much in common and we had the same sense of humor. Man B also mentioned that he has a girlfriend. Later that night I suggested to Man A to ask his friend if he would be open to a double date. He said he’d ask. He never did.
Winter passed and it got warmer, the guy I chose never took me out on a date. I had to insist we hang outside his apartment/my apartment. He once agreed to take me to a park near his place, he kept complaining the whole time, we spent less than 1 hour in the park. There was once I went to the movies by myself, he never picked his phone that time. Earlier this month I asked him twice if he was okay to go grab ice-cream(my treat), he agreed and stood me up both times. I called him told him how much that hurt and how we never leave the apartment. I stopped hanging out at his place for about a week he called me and took me to a restaurant near his place, btw he was insisting we get take out and eat at his place. Man B and his girlfriend achieved something this month, I’m fond of the girl. I suggested to her that we could take them out to celebrate, she asked her man and said yes. I told my guy and he said that’s fine but didn’t ask any details or suggest any places. So I took matters to my own hands and planned everything. I chose a place I have always wanted/suggested to try when with him. We had dinner and it all was well. We all had fun, they loved the place. My man claimed he had never heard of the place. During the dinner, it all hit me that man A takes me for granted, he’d talk to everyone very calmly and politely apart from me. He never behaves like a gentleman, Man B would treat me and his girlfriend with so much respect(he’s such a gentleman). There was a moment we were left together on the booth, myself and man B and he hinted to me that I was too good for his friend. I felt shame. Afterwards we all hang out at their apartment, everything was fun. After some minutes my man left the room without excusing himself and went to sleep in his room. He later called me after midnight and asking me if I had got back to my place safely. Told him I had not left but I was about to leave, I went to his room to bade him goodbye and pay him back for half of the bill for the diner earlier(as we had agreed). He thanked me for choosing such a wonderful place for diner then he asked me if I could spend the night being all touchy and romantic. I told him I want a break up. He never said anything. He’s been calling me asking about my day and inviting me at his place.

2024.05.29 03:47 Different_Horse6239 5 wonderful nights in Paris - with (lots of) pictures

To start - the photo album - https://photos.app.goo.gl/m816j6qm54nRQ5uw8
I'm a little bit late writing this up, some things won't be relevant any more, apologies. This itinerary is for someone who likes to be out doing stuff all day every day, most people will find it way too full on. If you are also like this, though, I'd say it was well-planned, I never felt overly rushed, though I could've maybe done with an extra half hour here and there (this is more a problem with Paris' need to book everything a month in advance with a specific timeslot than my planning). I found the people to be very friendly, and never had any trouble communicating - though my French is passable, most people switched to English quite quickly, and not just customer-facing staff but even people I stopped to ask for directions from.
Wednesday 25th October Finished work slightly early to get the Eurostar at 18:01 from London St Pancras. 2.5 hour train (and lose an hour to time zones). The hotel was near Place de la Republique, so walkable from Gare du Nord (Hotel Mimosa - cheapest hotel available when we booked. No complaints, nice staff, really clean, didn't try the breakfast). Only had time to check into our hotel and have a quick drink nearby (the end of the PSG game was on).
Thursday 26th October Disney! I wasn't sure about it since it was the middle of French school holidays, and there were certainly some long queues, but my friend insisted and I'm glad we did (although only because I went twice as a kid, if you don't have the nostalgia I don't think it's worth it on a busy day - one year I spent Christmas eve/day here with my mam and had Christmas dinner at the Cinderella inn). We went to Gare du Nord early to buy Navigo Decouverte passes (even though the week runs Mon-Sun and we arrived midweek it's still the best option, no faff with the little paper ticket booklets, covers as far as Disney/Versailles, and is pretty cheap), got the metro over and made it for almost gates opening. Got really lucky and managed to book a table for 2 at Bistrot Chez Remy (the Ratatouille themed restaurant) for the evening whilst on the train there (do this on the Disneyland app), even then the restaurant is only about a 6.5/10 but it's amazing compared to your walk-up options, I'd suggest trying to book one of the better ones a few weeks in advance (be aware of prices though!). The main park is exactly as I remember with one or two Star Wars things shoehorned in, the Studios park is completely different though - before it was all "behind-the-scenes" type stuff, now it's "everything we own that isn't Disney" (so half the park is painted Marvel, half of it is painted Pixar). Particularly sad the Armageddon experience is gone, as well as the statue of Mickey holding Walt Disney's hand. Last time I was here, Crush's Coaster had just opened so was 2 hour queues and I never got to ride it, and somehow 17 years later they haven't shortened. Maybe next time? Rides close at 10 but we stayed for the fireworks, was quite late getting back.
Friday 27th October Slightly later start, easy morning finding somewhere for breakfast, didn't have to be at the Louvre until 11:30. We tried the side entrance that I've seen mentioned on here a few times, don't think it works any more though. The queue to get in even for timed tickets is enormous, thought we'd be stuck there for hours but dead on 11:30 it started moving, and we were past security and into the main hall in about 20 minutes. Made a beeline for the Mona Lisa, having read about a lengthy queue we'd discussed just getting a drive-by/glimpse of it rather than waste the day, but actually there were about 50 people in the pen ahead of us (which is about 10 people wide) and we were at the front in maybe 5 minutes? My photo of it is timestamped 12:02. Saw the Winged Victory, didn't see Liberty Leading the People as it was down for restoration, but it should be back by the time you're reading this. The place is huge and I definitely missed loads (forgot to try and find Napoleon's apartment). I do like art but I found lots of this to be a drag - I like colourful/interesting stuff, but find portraits of old generals and paintings of Jesus incredibly tedious after a while. Glad I went, not sure I'll return though. I budgeted 3 hours which was pretty much perfect for me. Next stop Saint-Chapelle - the windows are as beautiful as you imagine. I've seen a lot of people saying it's a waste of time and money - it is very expensive for what it is, it is just the one room, depending on your budget it might not be for you, but if like me you're happy to chuck money at stuff when on holiday it's absolutely worth the time. I think we stopped at a cafe at this point? One of the typical Parisian ones, where you sit facing out onto the street. Afterwards we walked over to see Notre Dame (still closed due to the fire) and then down into the Latin Quarter. We stumbled upon a free street art exhibition just across from the Pantheon which I really enjoyed, then started looking around for an early dinner - which turns out to be quite challenging in Paris, nowhere opens before 7 it seems, but we did find an Italian place nearby. We needed to get to the Stade de France for 9 so the plan was to be south of the city to make sure we get onto the metro before it gets into the centre and fills up - needn't have bothered though, lots of trains, never got too packed, as organised as any other modern stadium, just aim to be at least 30 minutes early and you can't go wrong. Rugby World Cup 3rd place game - England beat Argentina 26-23, looked like it might be a walkover early on but it turned into a really tight game, great warmup for the main event. Second dinner at Au Pied du Cochon, the 24hr restaurant that gets mentioned on here a lot.
Saturday 28th October Started at Musee d'Orsay, 10:30 entry. This museum is much more to my taste, and a manageable size. The impressionist stuff is all up on the 5th floor and is spectacular, I have never before (and will probably never again) go to a gallery where I instantly recognise so many things! This was a particularly incredible experience as they also had a Van Gogh exhibition on at the time (focused on his works at the end of his life, when he was living in France and his work was becoming very sinister - sadly no longer on) and I'd just recently taken my mam to the immersive Van Gogh experience in Edinburgh as part of her 60th. The other exhibition was Louis Janmot's Poem of the Soul (a really long poem and a load of paintings to accompany each segment) which I can't claim to have heard of before, I wish I'd had a bit more time to enjoy it fully but I had other plans so only had time to look at the pictures. Catacombs were booked for 14:30 - interesting experience, I'd say worth doing but not a must. It's good to have something planned other than museums. Afterwards, had time to see Jardin du Luxembourg and Montparnasse cemetery (didn't take any pictures in here, feels wrong somehow, didn't find anyone famous anyhow), before finding dinner in Montparnasse. Then the World Cup final - South Africa v New Zealand, another very tense game! I seem to have a habit for picking rugby finals with early red cards.
Sunday 29th October Trip to Versailles, 12:00 ticket, full access. This is the one place where, even with a timed ticket, you have a long wait to get in. I got in at 12:40, and I was fairly early so near the front of the queue for my timeslot. The palace itself is fine, bit nicer than my house but not worth the trip on its own, the gardens are stunning though, I spent over 2 hours in them, and still pressed on to see the other areas. My favourite was Marie-Antoinette's hamlet, the pictures don't really do it justice but it felt like I was in a fairytale. I headed back to Paris and got to the Eiffel tower just in time to see it twinkle at 7pm (it does so every hour on the hour after dark). Walked over to Trocadero (the best place to view the Eiffel tower), then along to the Arc de Triomphe and down the Champs Elysee. Took the metro up to Montmartre to go into Basilica Sacre-Coeur (free entry, and by this time no queue at all - they ask for no photographs so there's nothing in my album from inside, but there's plenty online). Ate nearby then had tickets for Moulin Rouge at 11.30 - like Saint-Chapelle, it's quite expensive, but a good time if you do decide to go. This was my most tiring day, over 35000 steps.
Monday 30th October Final day in Paris. I'd managed to get a spare ticket for Musee de l'Orangerie on an site called Headout (usually you would have to book this a while in advance, like most things in Paris, I guess someone returned one last minute? Could only get one, don't think my friend particularly wanted one anyway), 12:00 entry. I picked a route to pass a couple of landmarks - Opera Garnier, Madeleine, Obelique du Louxor. Monet's water lillies are, as you'd expect, absolutely gorgeous, and the only reason this museum exists really. There's some good stuff in the permanent collection in the basement though - I think I remember seeing a Picasso down there? I don't remember what the temporary exhibitions were at the time but I remember being unimpressed. Went back to the Eiffel tower to see it in the daylight, and stumbled upon Musee du Quai Branly. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, it's a collection of objects created by humanity when in a loosely "tribal" period? Which happened at vastly different time periods for each continent. And also there's some samurai stuff, even though Japan had a fairly well developed civilisation by the time they came around. The more you think about it the more it falls apart really, basically it's a museum full of really cool stuff. Had to rush this a little bit to catch the Eurostar (train at 17:00), was also panicking because I couldn't make contact with my friend, who had my luggage.

2024.05.29 03:34 Any-Willingness8436 What should I do now?

I need advice 9-1-1 I (f45) and my partner (m43) met 19 yrs ago through a mutual friend. It was love at first sight and we started talking and we both fell head over hills and decided to move in together since we couldn’t be apart for more than a week. We finally made the move and moved in together. He had a descent job and I was on the hunt for any kind of job. Since I had 2 daughters 9 and 5 at the time. He had 3 children m7 f5 and m of literally months. At the beginning it was bumpy but any new relationship is. It took about 10 yrs for our family to finally cope in between his family his ex and me with my daughters. A month into me moving with him 3 hrs away from my family he was laid off his job I had been looking for a job since day one so finally one day I found a job as a waitress working graveyard at a restaurant at a not safe area. I struggled since the biological father of my daughters cut ties after I moved he came to visit once or twice and then he vanished. We struggled financially for a long time. I was new on the online job search thing but I suggested he posted on Craigslist his painting since he’s a magnificent painter. It was a hit it. It went too good I left my job to help with the driving since it was mostly out of town. I got too bored that I asked to help him so it wouldn’t take too long. Our days were 10 hr days we did the murals for about 8 or 9 yrs. We argued constantly over simple things. So I told him I love him but I couldn’t do it any more. I started working from home doing clothing alterations it didn’t pay a lot but it helped. He then open a business selling and repairing video games and consoles it did good for a few yrs and he started an apprenticeship at a tattoo shop. He is very creating smart and extremely talented. I then started helping a friends mom doing alterations at her bridal shop that was next to an embroidery place that actually shared a room and the stomps of the machines hypnotized. As soon as there was a chance I got the opportunity to work there as well. I’ve been jumping from job to job to help with the expenses of the house and the shop my partner still owned. At his apprenticeship he had a slip and was fooling around with this other female it ended. He finally decided to close ip his shop bc it just wasn’t working. When he finished his apprenticeship he went on and decided to open his own shop. He got his keys December 2019. Most expenses fell on me since he had no income at the time. He was working very hard to get the place standing it was a mess he demolished painted installed plumbing electric the whole 9 yards. He opened his doors June 2020. We couldn’t be any happier. He is also a musician so he would get gigs all the time. I have to mention I was doing the house work the kids rides the cooking and when he needed me I was there all while I had 2 jobs I would take the kids to and from school and drop off my step kids too (I hate the word step kids) they’re my children too. Any how September 2020 he got this new gig job and by October same yr he didn’t want me to go see him play when he was blocks from home. He started acting weird like dressing differently and caring about his looks I had my suspicions but he would always tell me it was just in my head. I could see his call logs and I found out who he was talking to it was the lead singer of this new band. I confronted him and he said I was crazy. Ok. I kept seeing weird behaviors and talked to him about it since we are not legally married I offered to open a relationship since it would be months at a time w/o intimacy he said no cause nothing was happening. There were times he would take my car on a Sunday nights and act mad so he won’t come home. He ever told me once he couldn’t remember where he parked my car so he left it 2 hrs out of town which caused me to call off work many times. I was loosing my mind I knew something was wrong and I did everything to fix the situation. I decided to place a tracker in my car so he won’t have to strand it again. Next weened he took my car again and left it by the airport all night. I confronted him with pics of my car where he had left it and he admitted he carpooled with this other female that is married should I add. FF to may 17 2022 I got a hold of all his ig user names and passwords, he was talking to at least 6 females but I didn’t confronted him this time that day I had a terrible migraine and was feeling aweful I needed to rest my head and be calm so I went home he rejected me as if I was a piece of trash I sat up and told him it felt like he didn’t want to be with me so I asked him to leave he got up and he left. Right away he started dating this scumbag not the singer but this other person. He had a dinner date may 18th with a 26 yo and on and on. All in a span of 2 months after he left my home. We started talking again and we were fine I told him everything I felt and how much he had hurt me he told me I didn’t deserved that and no I don’t. When he moved out and finished fooling around he got this god and I loved her she was the sweetest dog. After my second job I would go to his place and puppy sat for him he would help me financially when I needed and things were working out it was like we were dating. September 2023 we got into a huge argument and things were bad I went zero contact for a month and it was bad. Until. He had one of his panic attacks and called me to take him to the er so did I saw the dog again and things were calm for over a month. By December same yr he gave me a check I couldn’t cash, on the 23rd I went to his place to return the check and give him his Xmas gift it was a large print of his dog on a makeup trip we did in march it wasn’t much but it was with so much love. He didn’t let me in to see the dog he said I was not welcomed he opened his door about an inch and the dog came out running to me. He called the cops on me I explained the situation and they talked ti us individually. I left and had Xmas eve with my children. I forgot to mention that my youngest f22 and his daughter f21 are currently living with me. Xmas day I was home alone and he calls me I pick up and it was him he was stressed he said that his dog was acting weird since Saturday she couldn’t bark she tried but was just wizzing we rushed her to a hospital 2 hrs away we came back without her she didn’t make it on our way back he told me that the day he called the cops on me she ran to his room sat in a corner and just looked down. He spend the rest of the week in my place I didn’t know what to do but be by him and help him. He decided to get another dog he just turned a yr I love that dog too. I’ve spent the night at his house every other night to help with the puppy while he works. I still had 2 jobs and his place is about 20 mins from mine. About 3 months ago he asked me to lend him some cash so he can get a car to play with so I did. 2 weeks ago my sister invited me to celebrate my nieces graduation and I asked him if our youngest had a date for his and he said no so I told my sister I was attending. Last Wednesday my kid told me he had a ceremony ticket for him and another one for me I arranged as crazy as it sounds to ask for Thursday off to drop off my daughter to my sisters which is 3 hrs away saw my mother for 20 or 25 mins and started my drive back because on Thursdays we take his dog to the street fair so by 1 pm I was back in town I took a quick nap and started getting ready for the fair. He calls me at 7 pm to ask if everything was ready I said yes I’m just getting his cooler ready we take ahi’s bowl a portion of kibble ice packs snacks and a spray bottle. I couldn’t find the spray bottle. I went to my car to check if it was there and I saw him pulling up in his truck I asked if he could come over and kept looking I check again and he walks right inside so I closed up and went in with him I told him I can’t find the spray bottle and he lost it he was cussing out the spray bottle and I was in shock I mean dollar tree has them we can replace it but he was mad at the bottle. He had been doing this same thing for 3 weeks he looses it and he goes into his bedroom extremely upset last time he was like that I let him know I can’t do these kinds of arguments they’re ridiculous. I told him I needed to go home with my dogs and I left. We have a mutual friend that has a dog like ours and that night he posted a pic of both dogs and the lost spray bottle was hanging from the side pocket of the wagon. I texted him Sunday so I could go see the dog and he said ok I spent an hr with I walked him and ate snacks then I left I called him yesterday and he said he had 2 walk ins so I visited the dog for 2 hrs walked him played with him and ate snacks. We both as an agreement we talked about me quitting my second job and puppy sit and he’d pay me what my second job did and so he can get hands on on his shop it’d be a win win it’s been very slow like scary slow and he needs to build his portfolio so we all happy. I talked to him about a bill I owe is 1200 and he said we’ll figure it out well it’s due today since things aren’t smooth I texted him and asked him to please call me he said about what I said about the dog and other things he asked is something wrong with the dog I said not really but we need to talk and he said there’s nothing to talk about I send him a pic of the bill and it’s due date which is today and he said not my problem ask for a loan or something. He owes me 2k I was trying to figure out how we can still help each other and he told me I was harassing him and that I can’t come see the dog and he will get a restraining order. I know his financial situation isn’t good but neither is mine he blocked me again. I know he’s a narcissist and very self centered. His actions don’t have an affect on me but the dog does I’m afraid something would happen to the dog like it did to the other one. I can’t say I don’t care about the money but I barely make ends meet for myself nor can I say I hate him I want him to be ok and succeed like I should too. I know it’s toxic that is why I left. I sent that payment today on time but now I will be behind on all my bills including my rent and car payment. I don’t want to go to his house I don’t know what I did wrong. All I’ve done is is be by his side when no one is he has literally no true friends and he’s not close to his children on his son graduation I was there there was his grandma his stepdad his biological mom me sitting next to her my stepdaughter her boyfriend and then him who got there 30 min late and on the phone for most of the ceremony.

2024.05.29 02:53 WittyInteraction6526 Feb 2025 cruise advice

Hi there! I’ll be sailing on the Utopia in 2/2025 to Nassau & Cocoa Cay and have a few questions. I have cruised many times before (but not with RC) and have been to Nassau a few times. I will be going with my significant other who is a first time cruiser! We’re both 30 years old.
-Would you recommend Atlantis water park as an excursion? I’ve seen people say use Cocoa Cay for a beach day (which we plan on doing, especially if we go to Atlantis). If so would you expect the price to drop as we get closer to the sail date as I’ve seen happening for others?
-Any must see/do things in Cocoa Cay? Restaurant/food recommendations?
-We plan on buying the alcohol package in advance of sailing but similar question to above, are there specials to look out for? What is the cheapest rate you’ve been offered?
Any other advice is appreciated and welcome.

2024.05.29 02:52 Icy-Extension6677 Not sure if this person just wants sex or if I should see them again

I (33, non binary) went on a weird date with a 38 yr old person, non binary). We met on a dating app. We went out for coffee a couple of weeks ago (they paid). The convo was ok but they referenced doing drugs and drinking (something I’m in recovery from). I’m non judgmental so I brushed it off.
They asked me out to dinner over the weekend and they made reservations. I showed up and they were giving me a hard time about not drinking (they’d Ubered there so they could drink). I’m recovering from substance abuse so I just stuck to my guns. They were saying they would’ve just driven there instead of taking an Uber if that was the case.
The dinner was…weird? It was loud in the restaurant and we were finished in under an hour. I reached for the check and said, ‘I can get it,’ (the way one does when they expect the other person to reach for it, just as a polite gesture) and they were like ‘are you sure?’ I paid (annoyed) and they never said thank you, just that they would get the next one.
I get into my car and they tried to kiss me indirectly but kissed my cheek instead. I drove off while they were hanging out waiting for their Uber. While I’m driving (a couple of seconds later), they text me and said ‘we only spent an hour together? Sad we didn’t get to hang more.’ I texted back ‘yeah I’m sad too’ and they were like ‘well you didn’t have to leave me in the parking lot.’ Anyway, I felt guilty and turned around.
When I got back, they were sitting on a bench overlooking the parking lot. I came and sat next to them and they immediately put their arm around me then pulled me in for a kiss. I kept my lips closed the whole time. They kissed me a few more times and then rubbed my knee. I have a history of trauma so I get pretty dissociated whenever someone is intimate with me in any way.
I don’t know if they expected me to go further than that on the bench or what but eventually I left and went home and haven’t texted them since.
The thing is, I don’t know much about this individual. Jumping right into a physical connection seems sus to me.
Do you guys think there are enough red flags to just forget them, and do you think they’re looking for a hookup?

2024.05.29 02:46 ConstantBubbly6837 My boyfriend thinks I cheated on him but I didn’t now he won’t listen to me

I haven’t used this app before but I’m desperate for advice so please bear with me. Also please keep in mind I am very quiet and try to think and act rationally because I had to mature at a young age and think & act like an adult I try to avoid conflict no matter how I truly feel because its all I get at home. (I come from a bipolar abusive household) All fake names btw. A little background my ex is very well known in my town and he still has feelings for me and everyone who knows him has been trying to break up me and my boyfriend and get me back together with him. Now to the story: I 17f and my now ex bf 17m got in a big fight last Saturday and i don’t know how to fix it. Saturday night was prom. My parents wouldn’t let me go, they said my grades weren’t good enough (mainly b’s and c’s) and it was a waste of money. My mom suggested I still dress up like I’m going to prom but instead go to dinner and a movie with my friends since it’s cheaper and prom is boring anyway. I told my friends this and they were all on board. However my best friend’s boyfriend is moving across the country this summer so they changed their minds and decided to go to prom. I was fine with this decision since it’s her only chance to have a prom with him and I could still go out with my boyfriend. My boyfriend’s mom however decided he was going to prom with or without me. So everyone was now going except for me. I have a friend 18f (Anna) who graduated last year that offered to take me out with her and her boyfriend (Brandon) so that I wasn’t just sitting at home alone. My parents were somewhat okay with this and we got in a couple arguments over it for a few weeks leading up to prom a couple days before prom my parents changed their minds again and decided I can go so I went out with the money I saved and bought the dress my boyfriend liked (shown above). Later that night my parents changed their minds again and decided I can’t go to prom or hangout with Anna and Brandon. Everyone was getting pissed off and I was upset because I had just bought a dress. The next day (the day before prom) I told my boyfriend I can’t go and would try to sleepover and my other friends house but I wasn’t sure if I could since i had auditions after school, wasn’t sure if she was busy, and it was last minute and I didn’t want to be rude inviting myself like that. I got home from auditions and my parents said I could go with Anna the next day. The day of prom i got up early since my mom said she wanted to do my hair for me before I left. So I got up and find out 3 of our cars aren’t starting (we have a few old classic cars) so I had to help push the cars and watch my little brother while my parents dealt with the cars by the time they were done I had to leave and my mom was upset she couldn’t help me get ready I left and walked over to breakfast with Anna. We finished eating and were waiting on Brandon to get there to pick us up and he was over an hour late, he sat down and ate and when we left it was around 11:15 and we were supposed to go talk pictures with my mom and leave to the arcade at 12. We had no time for pictures anymore and my mom was pissedddd. She stopped responding to me and was beyond mad. We go pick up my clothes and go to Anna’s parent’s house because it’s closer than her house. We finished getting ready it’s about 11:30 and her parents still aren’t home. I talked to Anna about the pictures since it was really important to my mom, she pulled out her phone and texted for a minute then took me a couple houses down to my ex’s house because his mom (Susan) was home and is like a mother to Anna. She had asked my Susan to take a couple pictures really quick so we could leave because it was getting close to noon and we had to get going. I started thinking this is really weird we could just have Brandon take a couple pictures but whatever it’ll be fine. Then Susan’s boyfriend comes out which I thought was weird but again it’s whatever. Then the disaster hit, she called my ex Trevor to come out, I start to worry like wtf is going on, Susan dug through a drawer for a minute and tossed a blue tie at him and told him to put it on. He did and she made him get in the pictures with us, I start panicking like Wtaf is going on now, I asked Anna and she said to just smile we’re taking pictures, so I do and I’m uncomfortable, they put him next to me and I’m leaning away from him and facing away cause wtf but its okay just stay calm its just a picture and I can leave right? We go to leave and Brandon’s car wont start. Susan gives us a ride because we had no other way to leave and she said they already had plans there anyway it’s no big deal. I was already uncomfortable and thinking it’s sketchy. I go to text my boyfriend to tel him whats going on and he starts texting me about how he’s miserable and wants to kill himself. I was trying not to freak out and calm him down because he also comes from an abusive household and has tried to kill himself before. So I started texting him trying to distract him and me being happy cheers him up so I was telling him I was happy and having so much fun so he wouldn’t get more upset and go over the edge. We leave and Susan drives up and we get out and I thought she had left but 5 minutes or so later they walk in, turned out she was parking the car and is staying with us. I was beyond uncomfortable and called my mom but she wouldn’t answer. I was stuck there I told Anna I was uncomfortable and I was told I was just nervous because I don’t leave my house much and needed to relax. I was like okay I’ll just try to stay away from them, so I go over to the little arcade by the bowling alley by myself while they all go to set up bowling, I came back and sat down for a minute, everyone was doing horrible at bowling so I tried, Susan was talking about the scoreboard and taking pictures and I was walking backwards looking at the board and forgot about the ledge that separates the bowling floor from the normal floor and slipped off and tripped on my dress since it drags on the floor and fell. I tried getting up and kept slipping on my dress Trevor was sitting right behind where I fell and leaned forward I put my arms around his neck to pull myself up and he put his arm around my shoulders and behind me knees I was confused and he picked me up off the floor, and slid me onto him lap on his lap. I sat there in shock for a second trying to process the boldness of him doing that. He had moved his arm to go across my thighs holding onto the outer thigh holding me to him and his other hand moved to my arm holding where it was on his shoulder. I looked at him uncomfortable said thanks for the help and asked him to let go of me his grip was really tight he looked at me all smug but then let me go I got up and sat and the other table for a minute trying to process to feeling of knowing if he really wanted to try something id be powerless against him I then talked to Anna and Brandon and Brandon kept Trevor bowling with Anna and I went off to play games at the bigger arcade on the other side of the building. I started cheering up and actually having fun with it being just me and her and was texting my boyfriend (Nate) the whole time trying to cheer him up and keep him distracted. The others had finished their two games of bowling and told us we were going to dinner. I was so relieved thinking finally, I get to leave after this. I was the last one inside the restaurant because people behind me were stepping on my dress and my feet hurt so I was walking slower they all sat down and only spot left was next to Trevor. I almost started to cry I was already uncomfortable told him that at least 5 times just while sitting there and it got brushed off every time. Susan pulled her phone out told me to scoot closer so she could talk a picture I was trying to stay calm and just get through the dinner so I smiled for her picture but kept my hand on the bench so I could push myself away from him the second it was over. I almost had a break down sitting there and we when we finally left they took us went back to the bowling alley because Susan’s boyfriend wanted to play pool and it wasn’t open until after we had dinner. I went to the bathroom and cried for a second because I was so uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. They had taken over the whole day that was supposed to originally be me, my boyfriend, my best friend, and her boyfriend. I cleaned myself up and came back out and just played more games until we finally left. I got home 5 minutes late and my parents screamed at me for two hours and I started to get a crippling pain in my abdomen as they yelled at me and sat on the floor for most of it. When they finished I went to my room and called Nate he told me about how horrible his day was and how he didn’t even go to prom I broke down crying because of what happened and my parents yelling at me and because if he told me he wasn’t going anymore i would’ve taken him with me and it all could’ve been avoided and was in so much pain I passed out. I was supposed to sneak out and go to his house that night and I could barely move so I didn’t. I woke up in the middle of the night and sat up thinking about how to tell Nate about what happened. I decided it was a conversation to have in person so I chose to wait until Monday to sit down and talk to him since he was still in a suicidal mind set and I didn’t want this to be the cherry on top. However what I didn’t know was Susan had taken a picture of when I had fallen and he picked me up and posted it. (Images included above) The mom of a friend of a friend saw the picture sent it to my best friend’s (Avery) boyfriend (Alex) and Alex sent it to Nate. Blowing everything up and now he’s barely talking to me, I talked to everyone and got proof of what I was saying is true that I didn’t cheat and now Alex and Avery believe me but now the situation its affecting Avery and Alex’s relationship and Alex is yelling at me for talking to Avery about how I’m feeling and stressing her out and now Alex is ignoring me. Nate says he needs space and I’ve been trying to give it to him but he means everything to me and im not going to just throw this away because people jumped to conclusions. Everyone is trying to ignore it and forget it happened and it’s not working because problems keep arising. I believe we all need to sit down and talk rationally and calmly because you cant just put a bandaid on a bullet hole and expect it to stop bleeding. I would gladly accept any advice and help on how to address this and fix things between my friends. P.s. it was later confirmed that Anna and Susan had planned it all out so I’d get back together with Trevor

2024.05.29 02:29 Western_Mess_2188 3 Days in Rome with Kids

Hey all. I have been to Rome before but not for 18 years and never with my kids (7 & 11). At the end of June we will be there for 3 full days at the end of a 3 week Europe trip. I know it will be hot and the kids will be tired, so with that in mind I’m trying to come up with a rough itinerary that is as low-key as possible. I do want them to see the main historical sites (Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Saint Peter’s Basilica, to name a few) but I don’t want to stand in line to go into museums, etc. I mostly want to spend time meandering in pretty neighborhoods and stopping for gelato, relaxing in parks and eating in non-touristy restaurants.
Eighteen years ago Trastevere was charming but I hear it’s been overrun with tourism now.
I know I’m a tourist going to Rome so I know I’m part of the problem, but I also don’t want to be in overrun places if I can help it.
Can people recommend beautiful and quieter areas that might be nice to walk around? Parks that are great for kids to play in?
Thanks!

2024.05.29 02:13 urfav_mf Lark Fall 24- Spring 25 Sublease

Hi! I'm looking to sublet my room in a 3B/3B at Lark from this August till next July (additionally you can also find people for the summer months if you won't be on campus). Rent would be $750 with all utilities included, and parking included as well. The room is furnished and you have your own private bathroom. The other two roommates in the apartment are female as well. Please DM or comment if interested or if you have any additional questions! There are also bus routes to and from Lark-Campus, and it's fairly close to Walmart and other restaurants.
