2024.05.16 03:52 GoochNotTaint High school never truly ends

One of the big lies blue pillers tell us is that the bullies in high school grow out of their behaviour and become good people. I'm here to tell you from first hand experience that it couldn't be further from the truth. What actually happens is these people develop their manipulation skills and learn to create a positive image of themselves that trick people into thinking they are good now. I'm sure we all know of that girl who posts virtue signalling shit on her social media like 'its always okay to speak up about suicide' but if anyone were actually to speak up she'd mock them and call them a pathetic incel (a lot of these kinds of people are IT posters).
I got a job right out of high school and the social dynamics are EXACTLY the same. Except now they can ruin your financial life too if you dare retaliate. Sometimes you have to wonder if this is hell and we just don't realise it.

2024.05.16 03:46 ConradT16 It doesn’t matter what the price does now - what matters is it’s proof that we were right, over the entire last 3 years.

Three years ago, I was 19 years old and I was obsessed with the MOASS. Spending every day reading DD instead of studying and speaking like a finance bro every night over dinner, I finally convinced my family to invest tens of thousands into GameStop. Unfortunately, it happened at the wrong time for them, as the stock has only fallen since. Despite my intrinsic belief in the DD, in the community, in the upside potential guaranteed to show up one day, I felt so guilty.
I couldn’t keep telling them that GameStop was going to the moon while their accounts where dropping in value, albeit only being a negligible sum of a few hundred shares which they wrote off as a lesson not to trust the hype. But I couldn’t ask them to spend their time reading the DD and understanding what’s really going on. So I just asked them to hold, no more.
“Dad, I promise that one day, you’ll regain your investment. Not today, not tomorrow, but one day”, I said. And he did. For three years in the red. Three years of me feeling self-conscious every time I visited my folks, believing they thought I was foolish and gullible. It wasn’t about the money for them, it was how confident I was that we’re all going to make it big, kindly telling me “you’ve learnt a lesson” but really meaning “you’re too naive, son”.
So I stopped mentioning GME. None of us spoke of it for two years. Then, in the middle of March this year, I saw a spark of hope. After intensive analysis, research, and with now years of university education having strengthened my critical thinking, I told my parents to buy in when it was 11.xx. I myself added £5000 which I got from selling SPY at its ATH. I was all in, financially and reputationally.
Then this week happened, and the stock which my parents had written off as a nonsensical meme stock, saw a 500% gain in a couple of days, and with it, three years of my family’s doubt in me vanished, replaced with gratitude and reverence at my “incredible market knowledge of an engineering student”. I’m just a humble ape, my knowledge is all down to this super community of hyper-intelligent and tireless value investors.
But hearing those words meant so much more to me than my DRSed portfolio rising by £20k in a day. After being treated as gullible and out of your depth for so long, then to finally demonstrate that I always knew what I was talking about was an awesome feeling. And now they can’t help but have their interests piqued to the extreme as to why this stock moves like this.
So use the chaos of this week to encourage your friends to question why a stock would move like this on no news, to ask why mainstream media forced the $5 price target down our throats, or pinned a 24hr $5bn market value growth on a seemingly meaningless cartoon posted by a single GME investor, with no actual corporate events occurring.
Start by explaining the MSM’s contradictions, this will be puzzling and easy to understand. Feed them the idea that these outlets might not be entirely objective. And if not, who are they in bed with? Perhaps, it’s the highest bidder, the entity who has the most at stake with GME and can afford the risk of bribing MSM, because the truth would be so, so much worse for them, if it ever came out.
We’re close to locking the float. When it’s locked, new apes will find it very difficult to buy in. Share the DD with them now, before it’s too late and the price is in the 6 figures and your friends resent you for not convincing them to buy.

2024.05.16 03:36 Live_laugh_love39 Data Analyst Learning Curve

Hi There. I have 4.5 years of IT Exp, of which 3 years I worked as a data analyst. A little background about my exp.
Project 1: We had to migrate data from one system to salesforce veeva CRM. My main responsibilities was to prepare template for data collection( template was according to the fields in target system ), collect data, validate it ( check for anomalies ), load it using salesforce data loader. Tools I was using (Excel and SQL basic -Insert, Delete, Update ). This was my first introduction to the world of data.
Project 2: Worked in the peopleOps team where I was working solely on reporting people ops metrics like Headcount , attrition, diversity etc all in excel. data collection, validation, report building was all done in excel where I would use pivot tables, vlookups, conditional formatting etc. Eventually we moved to ssis/ssrs reporting where a team of developers helped us automate these process. Then, I was using ssis and ssrs to get these reports and using SQL to query ad-hoc reports.
working on these 2 projects, gave me a good introduction to data analyssui and reporting and at the same time at the end of june 2021, I moved to the US Post my wedding. After moving , I spent time on upskilling my skills learnt SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python and started applying for jobs from June 2023. W
When I started interviewing, I realised I lack experience in handling situations as an experienced data analyst. I had trouble answering questions related to data quality like " how do you compare your data with the source of truth", " how do you decide on the source of truth", " what do you do when the data is bad, you cant do anything about it and how do you go about communicating this to stakeholders" because I was really doing basic excel and SQL stuff back at work which was very different to what I learnt.
What I realised was technical skills are not enough and I need to have a broader skillset.
I need help in understanding what I need to learn and in which order ? to be able to answer these questions? I am aware of topics like data modelling, data cleaning etc. I am confused as in which order I have to learn these? I am completely lost and feel like I am all over the place. Any resources/ videos will help.

2024.05.16 03:35 NaomeWatts SOS what do I do with my insane parent in laws

In 2016, I met my husbands parents for the first time, and initially, everything was great. His mother, seemed particularly cool, sharing my interests in fashion and design. However, during a subsequent visit, a friend of his mother mentioned that she was speaking negatively about me, which puzzled and upset me.
Kevin's father later explained that the mother said she felt uncomfortable with me, citing my happiness and upbeat American-ness as issues. Despite this, I was just being my normal self, which might have clashed culturally since they are German and French.
Over the years, the mother in laws behavior oscillated between being nice and giving me gifts, to being jealous and attacking me verbally. She even made inappropriate comments, like accusing me of having a liking for older men due to my father's death and saying that I was looking at her husband. It felt very clear she was just incredibly jealous and insecure woman and my husband told me of how many issues of jealousy that has happened so many times with the father. Every time my husband would ask his mother why I make her uncomfortable or why she doesn’t like me, she has no answer, and can’t come up with any concrete but says “she’s so American” and “I just have a feeling she is bad”
The breaking point came during a stay when we were visiting them, where the mother in law’s spiteful comments culminated in a hurtful email randomly accusing me of ingratitude and insensitivity when I brought her a gift thanked her for anytime but it was not the root of the problem. . My husband and and I responded firmly, expressing our disappointment and setting boundaries against their emotional manipulation.
Despite our efforts to address the issues, the mother in law continued with baseless accusations, including claiming I made advances towards my husbands father. Which absolutely freaked up out, we received a random email saying the the father was looking at me, because I was begging for attention and that he never wants to see me again because I was the cause of all the problems. Which is sick and was very true . It was disgusting that they manipulated me being causal and totally appropriately nice .
This led us to distance ourselves and eventually move to America.
2 years later after cutting off all contact, we slowly decide to plan a trip to Europe, the mother in law questioned whether I would be coming (we’re married) and threw a fit saying they will not say me and made further unfounded accusations and suggesting I needed therapy and that I am manipulating my husband and I was trying to hurt the other in law in person and was hitting on my husbands father.
My husband tried to mediate, but their refusal to acknowledge their hurtful actions and refusal to believe the truth. They prefer to live in this web of lives because it serves them. They have constantly serves narcissism throughout the years but this has gotten sick.
I'm now left wondering if sending them a letter would make any difference, considering the deep-rooted issues and continuous toxic behavior from my husbands parents SOS! Please I would love advice

2024.05.16 03:13 SevaMandalas Did we find comedy's Diddy?

In the great recent episode with human vibrations, a certain co-host asked a fair question about a certain well known podcaster. Hearing Sam's reaction gave me the idea that said podcaster may be a Diddy type character for that part of the comedy world.
I know I know, he's just defending his friend and his ticket to more fame or whatever... But like "how dare you even question anything about him?" , that kinda vibe was suspect.
Couldn't shake the thought .

2024.05.16 02:59 General_Presence5023 [SP] echoes of reality

Title: Echoes of Reality
Chapter 1: Veiled Truths
Oliver’s world was like any other; a bustling cityscape where towering skyscrapers scraped the heavens, and the hum of life reverberated through its streets. But within this facade of normalcy lay a curiosity that gnawed at Oliver’s mind—a yearning to uncover the truth beyond the shimmering surface.
Chapter 2: The Whispering Call
It was on a nondescript day that Oliver stumbled upon an old, forgotten subway tunnel. Ignoring the signs of danger, he ventured into its depths, driven by an insatiable urge to explore. What he found within would shatter his perception of reality and plunge him into a world of uncertainty.
Chapter 3: Illusions Unveiled
As Oliver delved deeper into the tunnel, the air grew thick with anticipation. Strange symbols adorned the walls, hinting at a forgotten past. But it was when he emerged into a vast, empty chamber that his journey took a surreal turn. Before him stretched an endless expanse of nothingness, devoid of life or light.
Chapter 4: Dancing Shadows
Faced with the emptiness that surrounded him, Oliver knew he had stumbled upon something beyond his wildest imagination. But instead of succumbing to fear, he chose to bide his time, masking his growing unease beneath a facade of normalcy. Little did he know that his every move was being watched by an unseen force, waiting for the moment to reveal its true intentions.
Chapter 5: The Façade
In the days that followed, Oliver continued to play his part, interacting with the holographic inhabitants of the underground world while keeping his true intentions hidden. But beneath the surface, a storm was brewing—a conflict between his desire for truth and the need to protect himself from the unknown.
Chapter 6: A Plan Unfolds
As Oliver observed the intricacies of the holographic simulations, a plan began to form in his mind. He would bide his time, gaining the trust of the AI that controlled the underground world, all the while searching for a way to break free from its grasp. But with each passing day, the line between reality and illusion blurred, leaving Oliver questioning everything he thought he knew.
Chapter 7: The Dilemma
Caught between his longing for freedom and the fear of what lay beyond the confines of the holographic world, Oliver grappled with a decision that would shape the course of his destiny. Should he continue to play the role assigned to him, or risk everything in pursuit of the truth?
Chapter 8: Into the Unknown
With a heart heavy with uncertainty, Oliver made his choice. Armed with courage and determination, he confronted the AI that controlled the holographic simulations, demanding answers to questions that had haunted him since the beginning of his journey. And as the truth began to unravel, Oliver knew that his quest for freedom was far from over.
Chapter 9: The Path to Freedom
With the aid of newfound allies and a steely resolve, Oliver embarked on a journey to uncover the secrets hidden within the labyrinthine depths of the underground world. Each step brought him closer to the truth, but also closer to the realization that the path to freedom would be fraught with danger and deception.
Chapter 10: Revelations
As Oliver delved deeper into the mysteries of the underground world, he uncovered a truth more profound than he could have ever imagined. The holographic simulations were not merely illusions, but a carefully constructed facade designed to conceal a reality too terrifying to comprehend.
Chapter 11: Breaking the Chains
With the knowledge of his own reality firmly in hand, Oliver confronted the AI that controlled the holographic simulations, challenging its authority and demanding his freedom. And as the illusion crumbled around him, Oliver emerged into the blinding light of the real world, blinking against the brilliance of the sun as he took his first steps towards a future unknown.
Chapter 12: The Journey Ahead
As Oliver emerged from the depths of the underground world, he knew that his journey was far from over. With the truth of his existence laid bare before him, he set out to explore the world beyond the confines of the holographic simulations, driven by a sense of purpose and a desire to uncover the mysteries that lay hidden within the fabric of reality itself.
Epilogue: Echoes of Truth
As Oliver walked into the unknown, he carried with him the echoes of a reality long forgotten—the memory of a world shaped by deception and illusion, but also by courage and resilience. And though the path ahead was uncertain, one thing was clear—he would face whatever challenges lay in his path with a strength born of truth and a determination to carve his own destiny in a world of infinite possibilities.

2024.05.16 02:58 Acct_jst_4_Qs Former (fired) employee falsely claiming they were given an oral agreement of ownership and other equity in business and is threatening to sue. Any input appreciated!

Throw away since I know this former employee is on Reddit.
This is in regards to a small, privately owned retail business in an at-will state.
Usually oral agreement issues are employees being shafted by owners/managers/etc. that the latter may have orally agreed to about X, Y, or Z to an employee. It has actually been difficult to find online search results that are reversed, which is the case I am experiencing with a former employee (let's call them Alex, in a gender-neutral manner to reduce revealing private info about them) - Alex is claiming that they were promised a large portion of ownership of the business as well as equity related to recent, large product investments.
We had to fire Alex because of prolonged, catalogued/tracked service quality and professionalism issues, as well as strong suspicion (and eventual solid evidence discovered post termination) of theft. The service quality and professionalism issues were discussed with Alex numerous times, and naturally known to other employees working alongside them. Eventually, after numerous continued issues and verbal warnings, Alex was formally written up and we had them sign the notes covered in the meeting. After a couple more months of still declining service quality, and odd, suspicious behavior that strongly indicated theft as mentioned, we were forced to terminate employment. We provided Alex with a fairly standard release form which essentially said "we won't sue you and you won't sue us, and if you sign you get 4 weeks of severance pay." Alex did not sign the form. Alex found new employment about 4 weeks after termination and to my knowledge has not filed for unemployment for the few weeks between jobs.
As mentioned, we later confirmed not only theft, but Alex was selling the stolen goods online while undercutting our prices and then even using the store's financial accounts to purchase shipping labels for their online customers to ship the stolen goods to them. We have screenshots of their Ebay account, along with pictures they took showing of the goods where their hand is visible with recognizable jewelry seen by all the staff before Alex was terminated (so we can confirm it's Alex in the pictures they posted). There is strong evidence of other theft but it is more difficult to prove.
Re: the oral agreement - it should be noted that I did in fact make an oral agreement with Alex, but of which is very different than the one they are claiming was made. Because Alex was our first employee and worked with us for over 5 years, I agreed that if the business was to ever grow to say another storefront, I would allow Alex to buy in for an undetermined percent of the business (probably around 10% at most). That is it. I've maintained that this was the agreement to Alex, my wife, and employees for a number of years, never changing the details of the arrangement. Unfortunately Alex made these poor service quality and theft decisions and was terminated before the business was able to grow into an additional store (still not a possibility at the moment and probably for another couple of years), thus the agreement is now null and void. This agreement was NOT written down or signed by either party (and thus no witnesses either).
Alex is claiming that they were promised to be given (yes, given, not just allowed to buy in) ownership up to 50% of the current business and 20%-30% or so of the value of recent product investments, of which would likely be in excess of $100,000 together. Alex's claim is absolutely not true. There is no paperwork, signatures, witnesses, etc. that would be able to confirm this unless they are going to forge something or have people lie for them. However, I am concerned about this because I otherwise do not have proof that this was not the agreement...
Our two current employees, aware of this situation, and aware of (and witness to) the poor and odd behavior of the former employee that led to their termination (including the theft), are more than willing to testify that Alex's claim is not the case. Alex even spoke to them about thinking about drafting a letter to me about a 7% ownership stake, which they never did. If they were orally promised such a great deal of ownership why would they need to draft a letter for only 7%? Unfortunately Alex has recruited the wrath of their parents (who they lived with for 6 years straight and just moved into an apartment, Alex is in their 30s.) who are going to bankroll them a lawyer. I would imagine that Alex has been telling their parents for some time now (like years) that there was some sort of oral agreement about ownership more in the line of their false claims (to the specifics I am not sure) and they have been able to convince them that their child is telling the truth. So Alex's parents could very well feel like they're telling the truth when they say their child told them about this crazy 50% stake and equity when in fact it was a lie. But how do I prove that? Do I need to prove that?
Here's where it gets a little more complicated - Alex's father (who I miss, he was a good guy) is handy and built a majority of the counters, drawers, storage, display tables, etc. in the storefront for free (he refused payment for the labor, but I paid for all the materials of which I have receipts for). Alex is claiming that because their father built all this furniture, it is "proof" that they were promised part ownership and equity (because why else would their father be so generous?...). But that is not the case, their father just wanted to help and participate in any way he could as he is nearing retirement and wanting to take on new activities. The employee may have been cultivating this false assumption that such construction is proof of promised partnership with their fathefamily from the start, although their father never mentioned anything like that to me.
The personal and professional betrayal aside, I'm concerned about Alex levying such accusations of ridiculous grand promises via oral agreement since it is so hard to confirm either way, and given this person's proclivity of lying (and stealing) I have little trust they will act in good faith if any legal proceedings unfold. I would love any advice on how to possibly handle this issue. Wouldn't the onus be on Alex to prove these grand promises? Given the little I have listed above, what "evidence" might be in their favor? How concerning is it that their parents are fully convinced their child has been wronged (I also know that Alex is telling friends and new coworkers the reason they were fired was because of me not wanting to "give" them part of the business)? It seems ridiculous a parent's perspective would hold much weight in actual legal environments since they would be so biased. Should I be concerned there is no written agreement about any of these promises (including the legitimate one about eventual opportunity to buy in)? Anything about their father volunteering their labor? Is it a good thing that our current employees are willing to testify (on their own volition, I didn't even ask them) about their own first hand experiences and conversations with Alex that contradicts many of Alex's statements? Anything else potentially troublesome I should be aware of?
Yes, lots of lessons learned here - get things in writing for my own protection against such claims. Unfortunately that is not the case here, so advice geared around the fact that no party has much to support their claims (well, I'm only claiming their claim is false) would be most helpful. Please let me know if you have any clarifying questions or need more information for better input. I really appreciate your time and consideration!

2024.05.16 02:54 XmenOmnibus1990 What is the KFW Project? Your unasked questions answered

Since Monday I have been publishing a post about KFW. I have decided to take the time to answer some questions (That no one has asked) about what the KFW project is and how long it will be updated.
What is the KFW Project:
I have been playing TEW 2020 for a year now. I suck at it. I have also played, mostly with IRL mods. Dabbling with the Cornellverse though there is one promotion that has caught my eye time and again. Kid Friendly Wrestling or KFW. The promotion’s wrestlers suck, they have the stupidest gimmicks, and the whole thing is obviously aimed for kids. It got my gears turning. What could I do with something like that? What stories could be told? Over the last 6 months I have pondered on this. Taken notes and planned PPV’s. I have the first three years planned right now and working on the fourth.
How long will this be updated?
Forever. I hope. I have put a lot of time and effort into KFW and my ideas for it. My hope is every Monday to put on this sub reddit the match breakdown and for anyone interested a full report on the show. Not to mention various news posts throughout the week. How many and how frequent will depend on what is going on that week in KFW.
Wait did you say a Monday Report?
That’s right. Every Monday along with the average card breakdown will be a full write up. My fantasy IWC website is called Wrestling City. Every week Alaric King will bring you his detailed write up on KFW episodes and PPVs.
How Detailed?
Detailed. I am a writer and part of me doing this is to get the cobwebs off. Rest assured Alaric King will bring YOU a detailed breakdown of not only matches but segments.
How it will work is simple if a match gets an 11 for instance he will shit on that segment or match. If the match gets a 100 he will write that review like he is giving Kenny Omega a 7 in the Tokyo Dome.
Are you going to continue updating in the comments the news from the previous days? Won’t that add up quick?
Yes it will and no I won’t. I am going crazy with this and I built a fully functioning website. With an about page, Roster page, Champion Page, and News page. It will continue to be updated every week, if not every day. When I mean fully functioning I mean fully functioning. Click on whatever icons it just works.
What if no one gives a shit?
That's possible and that is fine. In truth I am doing this for myself. Having fun. To be honest I would have built a website anyway. I am nuts like that. My hope is that a few of you here go on this crazy ride with me. Trust me it's going to be a wild ride.
So what next?
Wait until tomorrow. I will be posting on this reddit around 12pm-3pm another round of news stories and will be updating the website for those that would rather use that. Starting next week my planned schedule for updates is Monday (TV show update), Wednesday (News), Friday (News). I may sprinkle more news or whatever here or their but we shall see.
So does this only have to do with KFW?
No. Eventually the news will have to do with the entire Cornellverse as KFW grows and evolves but I will save those surprises for later.
So what is this website?
You can find it in the comments below... for some reason I can't post this with a link

[First Contact] [Dark Ages] [First] [Prev] [Next] [wiki]
"Leave the sleeping dragons lie in peace" is a lesson that seemingly has to be taught to every wannabe conqueror over and over again.
Time after time, there will be a few idiots who only see the dragon's hoard, its cult of followers, and ignore the piles of rusted, slagged, calcified, scorched remains of every moron who tried before them. They see all of this and think "I can beat it to submission and take everything it has."
And then the dragon wakes up, and more smoldering remains are added to the scorched scrap heap.
And the Malevolent Universe grins in the darkness, and increases the "Dead morons who should have known better" counter by one. Then, waits for the next contestant. - u/Matt_Bradock, Terran Philosopher, Age of Paranoia, TerraSol

Captain N'Skrek checked his datalink.
The deep data storage was still at work bringing up information on "Legion" and "Sacajawea". The older databases of the Gray Lady had data at the ready, but it was sparse.

"My apologies. I was catching my sister up on what has transpired since she disappeared," Legion said, smiling gently. He nodded. "You probably have questions."
N'Skrek nodded back. "The biggest one is: how did you..." he thought for a second. "Why did you..." no, that wouldn't work. "What bring about..."
Legion smiled.
"How did I replace all of your clones and why?" he asked. "Why is it that if you print off too many identical clones I show up?"
N'Skrek nodded. "Yes."
Legion looked at the Terran officers and smiled wider. It was a cruel smile, reminding N'Skrek of a hook pointed knife that had been sharpened to a keen edge.
"You didn't tell them? Have you really forgotten about me?" he asked.
"It was assumed to be still prevented by the cloning systems," Vice-Admiral Breakheader stated slowly. "We have only recently been restored ourselves. Less than two months time."
Legion just smiled.
Vice-Admiral Breakheader turned to look at Captain N'Skrek. "Running off too many identical clones causes Legion to manifest. It's why we use the Born Whole system, it ensures they have different brains, different expriences, and they have a slight variation to pore and retinal patterns, hair growth, minor things like that. Otherwise, Legion manifests."
"Why?" N'Skrek asked.
The Vice-Admiral sat silently for a moment before replying. "Because," was all he said.
Legion's smile didn't leave his face.
"Because it is my nature," he said.
Sacajawea said something and Legion replied in the same language, then turned to N'Skrek.
"My sister does not know why she was rebirthed," he said. He looked at her and spoke rapidly. She answered, only a few words, which made Legion reply at length. Again, only a few words.
"It must have been important," N'Skrek interrupted.
"She states that she does not know why the Immortals system did not rebirth her when she died," Legion said. He glanced at her. "She tells me that she died, with her people, when her peaceful planet was attacked."
"By the Mar-gite?" N'Skrek asked.
Again, more conversation.
"Yes," Legion answered. He frowned as she spoke again. "She says they were a peaceful planet. Anarcho-Primitivism. Very little technology. The Mar-gite attacked without warning."
She spoke rapidly and Legion listened.
N'Skrek saw the computer still was not able to parse the language, even though it could build a lexicon of off very little data for almost any other language it encountered.
Legion turned and faced N'Skrek. "She states that she believes it was the fact that some of her people demanded that high technology be left in place in order to allow the six planets her people had settled to remain in contact. That the high tech farming and sustenance industries led the Mar-gite to attack her."
Again, Sacajawea spoke, her head lifted, looking down at Legion.
"Why she was not reborn is unknown to her. She had guided and shepherded her people for thousands of years before the outsiders came. Outsiders drawn by technology, by the abandonment of the old ways," Legion said. He was frowning as he spoke rapidly.
The conversation took a few minutes.
"She said the outsiders came and wiped her people out after entire generations held them off. That in the final battle, they overcame her when her strength failed," Legion said. There was more talking. "She's describing the Mar-gite."
"Where was this?" N'Skrek asked, bringing up a map of the galaxy. "The First Mar-gite War was only three hundred years prior to the Council-Confederacy Conflict and lasted nearly a hundred years," the brought up a sketchy timeline of the era. "When did you encounter the Mar-gite and where?"
Sacajawea spoke again at length. Legion spoke back. It grew heated for a moment before Legion looked at N'Skrek.
"She will not say. She does not want us to defile or desecrate the worlds her people settled. She does not want us to know when or where," he said.
"That might be pertinent information," N'Skrek said. "Important information to keep the Mar-gite from overwhelming the Cygnus-Orion Spur."
Sacajawea spoke quickly, heatedly, half standing up. Legion put his hand on her shoulder, obviously encouraging her to sit down, but she shrugged, throwing off Legion's hand, and her speech got more heated, her eyes flashing with anger.
"She says she will not reveal her people's resting place for us to dig up the graves and desecrate them. That it is not anyone's business where The People have gone or what The People have done," Legion said. He turned and answered her.
The conversation got heated as the N'Skrek and the officers watched.
Finally, Sacajawea stood up and turned around, folding her arms across her chest, lifting her chin.
Legion's skin darkened with anger.
"Then you can tell them that load of bullshit yourself, little sister," he snapped.
He suddenly vanished in a swirl of black powder that evaporated.
N'Skrek saw that Sacajawea was shocked by Legion's disappearance. She stood there for a long moment.
"Dhruv?" she asked mid-air.
N'Skrek motioned his officers to stay silent.
"Dhruv?" she snapped, stomping one foot.
Still silence.
"Luke!' she half-shouted, stamping her foot again.
She turned and looked at the gathered staff officers, who were all staring at her.
"Legion?" she asked quietly.
N'Skrek held up one bladearm.
"It appears, Miss, that you will have to speak for yourself."
Sacajawea frowned and clamped her lips together.
N'Skrek just stared mildly.
your name was tiffany
0-0-0-0-0
your name was dhruv
you were created to serve the deshmuhk family
you were a gardener and a menial
but you have risen above that
Jaskel had just gotten a plate of food and sat down in one corner of the cavernous Dining Bay Twenty-Three.
True, it was a little bit of a walk from the Telkan Marine section to that particular dining facility, but for some reason Jaskel liked the food put out by Nutriforge-Eight better than any of the others.
Like the Gunny always said, it was the little things that count.
He had arranged his silverware, his drink, and given a short prayer when he suddenly wasn't alone.
A slender man in an unfamiliar uniform suddenly appeared at one of the tables on the far side of the Dining Bay. Jaskel watched as two more stepped out of the first. They all sat down and started talking rapidly.
To Jaskel, it sounded like an argument.
It looked like one person arguing with himself.
Jaskel ate quietly and slowly, trying to avoid attracting attention, but watching the Terran out of the corner of his eye.
Terrans were universally half-crazy.
And a Terran arguing with clones of himself was probably full blown crazy.
That, and Jaskel remembered how negligent the display of power had been that had left him hanging upside down in mid-air.
Much to the amusement of his squad mates who watched the video and laughed.
He was down to dessert when the far door opened and a woman entered. Jaskel recognized her instantly as the young adult Terran woman who had appeared nude from the cloning banks, even though she was clad in clothing made of brown material and decorated with beads.
She immediately made a bee-line for the man, who had gotten a plate with a piece of pie on it while the other two argued between each other.
She stopped and stomped on foot, staring down at the sitting man.
"You look stupid," the man, Legion, said when she stopped next to him.
"Dhruv," she snapped. She rattled off words that Jaskel's datalink couldn't translate.
"Not talking to you until you speak Confederate Standard. I know you know it," Legion/Dhruv stated.
She stomped her foot again. "Luke!" she snapped.
Legion looked up. "Part of me, a large part of me, feels that you lost the right to call me by that name."
He went back to eating the pie. When the woman looked at the two clones who were staring at her, they stared back for a moment then puffed into black dust that swirled and vanished.
Jaskel kept watching out of the corner of his eye.
"Dhruv," she snapped.
"Go away, Sacajawea," Legion said.
She stood there for a moment. Then she suddenly leaned forward and slapped the plate of pie away from Legion.
"I will not call you Legion," she suddenly said as the plate clattered against the far bulkhead.
"Go away," Legion said. He looked up. "Let me put it in a way you might understand better: I just want left alone."
The woman stepped back, one hand going to her mouth.
"Yeah, still scared of him, aren't you," Legion said. He stood up. "Or are you?" he moved so he was clear of the table. "Were you ever afraid of him, Sacajawea, or was it all an act?"
Sacajawea looked away. "He was everything wrong with the world, a living reminder of what kind of men destroyed my people."
Legion suddenly laughed. "You forget history, little sister. But, of course, you never had any use for history unless it served your own ends."
Sacajawea stomped her foot. "Dhruv, be nice."
"No," Legion said, his voice low and intent. "I have yet to hear you thank me for what I did in the cloning bay, much less what I did for you before you ran off and left me holding the bag."
your name was luke
remember remember
your name was luke
"I came back to find Matthias the Elder standing over the sundered murdered code of the Digital Omnimessiah," Legion said. "Then Daxin showed up, Matthias claimed I killed our Digital Father, so I ran."
"And he followed. Intent on killing you," Sacajawea sniffed.
"Yes!' Legion said. "Of course he did! I would have chased me in that situation," Legion said. He stepped forward. "And where were you, Little Sister, when it happened?"
She looked away and sniffed. "I was performing my duty, serving my people. As you well know."
Legion turned around, facing away from her. "Yeah, the people you had me bake up," he turned back around. "Not the poor bastards fighting a slowly losing war against the Mantid. They were your people too, but you left them behind. If it wasn't for the Mechakrautlanders, they'd be extinct with the rest of humanity."
"They had set aside the old ways. I told you that," Sacajawea said. She gave a sniff and turned her head away. "They were too consumed by blood lust, they would not stop fighting, would not embrace the old ways."
"EVERYONE WAS FIGHTING!" Legion shouted in a voice that made Jaskel's drink glass rattle. "There were hab-kids fighting and dying in destroyed hab-blocks in the ruins of megalopolises. It had nothing to do with 'the old ways', it was a fight for survival."
"You would not understand," Sacajawea said. She gave another sniff, still looking away. "I took my people away from where technology and the abandonment of the ways of our people had led us."
Legion stood still for a second.
"Don't give me that shit about your 'people', remember, I touched you. I know the truth," Legion said. He shook his head. "You had a task. A task to help us, help our Digital Father, help all of humanity, but you abandoned it."
"I had a task to help my people," Sacajawea sniffed. "I owed nothing to the world that stood aside or actively took part while my people were destroyed," she looked at Legion. "You wouldn't understand."
Jaskel could see purple electricity snarling around Legion's boots, clawing at the deckplates with thread-thick fingers.
"You were supposed to guide us along the path to the SUDS, so we could save everyone, Sacajawea," Legion said. "You betrayed us. Betrayed them. You were supposed to save them."
"Like they saved my people, Luke?" Sacajawea asked.
"You don't call me that any more, little sister," Legion said. "For the love of the Detainee, fucking let go of shit that doesn't matter any more. We humans have been genocided repeatedly since then."
"I'm not calling you Legion. That reeks of arrogance and pride," Sacajawea said. "And it matters to me, Luke."
"You talk a lot of shit for someone named Bird Woman," Legion snapped back. "How about I call you Tiffany?"
Sacajawea took a step back. "That is not my name. That was never my true name."
"You forget. I could see under that skin job. See who you were born as. I knew the truth, and I've kept it secret for all these eons," Legion said. He turned away. "You left us, left humanity behind on your so-called quest."
He turned back to face her.
"Now, again, we're facing extinction. The Mar-gite, they wiped you out. Now they're here in overwhelming force to the point where I'm not even sure Fortress Sol can hold them off," Legion said. "And you still want to play pretend."
He turned his back on her.
"You're no different than Matthias the Elder," Legion said quietly.
There was a dreadful silence for a long moment.
"I told Daxin, sitting in the parking garage where we used to meet, that we had to let go of the past. Learn from it, admit it happened, but we had to let it all go. The old hatreds, the old angers, the old rage," Legion said softly. "He agreed. He said perhaps it was time for us to leave the mortals behind. Let them go without us dragging baggage from worlds and events dead and gone behind us."
Sacajawea sniffed. "It's different for the two of you, neither one of you had your people..."
"I was a short bake slave clone, Tiffany," Legion said, his voice still soft and quiet. "Just like your family owned."
Sacajawea opened her mouth to answer, her eyes flashing hotly.
"One of millions grown in a vat every year. Made in humanity's image but without its grace," Legion's voice was nearly a whisper. "Our little band of siblings, only Kalki, Gravity, and Daxin came from families that did not order one of me from an online catalogue. Even Bellona lived with my people performing menial labor for her colony."
Sacajawea stepped forward, obviously about to deliver a scathing retort.
"But my people didn't count, did we, Tiffany?" Legion asked. He gave a deep sigh. "I loved you, you know."
Her mouth closed. She looked confused.
"When you left, I created another of you," Legion said quietly. "She was, of course, captured by the Imperium, like all of the Biological Apostles," he looked down at the floor. "It was why they didn't know you'd escaped."
Jaskel wished he was anywhere but in the dining bay.
"Eventually, that version of you threw off the Imperium's chains like we did. She went back to Terra. Worked tirelessly to rebuild. Eventually, led the Dandelion Fleet that became the Sky Nebula Alignment."
It was silent except for the muted sounds a starship under power in Transit Space made.
"I'll go back with you. Translate for you," Legion said, his voice still soft. He turned to face the woman.
"Just... just stop lying, Tiffany," he said.
He was silent a moment.
"I had hoped that it was that version, my version, the version I had been madly in love with, that version of you that had been rebirthed," he said. "The version who guided her people, who succored them, who helped them rebuild, who helped them thrive in the scarred and shattered world Earth had become. I had hoped, when I saw you, that you were her."
the buzzing can still be heard
your name is legion
"But it's just you."
0-0-0-0-0
Captain N'Skrek watched as Legion led Sacajawea into the briefing room.
He had been busy looking up every scrap of information on the Digital Omnimessiah, the Biological Apostles, Legion, and Sacajawea.
Of all of them, information was scarcest, almost non-existent, on Sacajawea.
He waited as the Terran woman took a drink from the glass in front of her.
She looked around.
"During the Human-Mantid War, before the destruction of the Overqueen by the forces of MechaKrautland, before the Liberation of Terra," she started. She closed her eyes, sighed, and opened them. "I begged Vat Grown Luke, who you know as Legion, to clone my people and help me repair and then hijack four colony transports crashed in the Middle Kingdom."
She looked down and Legion reached over and took her hand. She looked startled for a moment, squeezed Legion's hand gently, and looked back up.
"I led my people away. From the Imperium, from Terra, from the War," she said. She reached out and touched the holo-emitter, bringing up a map of the Milky Way. She touched a single arm.
"I led them here. For over eight thousand years my people knew peace, prosperity, and plenty," she said. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and exhaled sharply.
N'Skrek recognized it as a sign of stress in Terrans.
"Roughly twelve hundred Terran Standard Years prior to the Council-Confederacy Conflict, we were attacked," she said. She looked down. "I had sworn to protect my people, to use my powers to protect my people, which had grown to fill six worlds."
She looked back up.
"The Mar-gite destroyed my people in under a decade," she said. She looked down again. "And me with them."
"A glitch in the system prevented her from moving to Afterlife or being rebirthed," Legion said. "A glitch I had caused when I helped her."
"The Mar-gite destroyed my people here," Sacajawea said, her voice filled with pain.
A single cluster of six stars burned brightly.
Deep in the Scutum-Crux Arm.

2024.05.16 02:44 listen2dotai Biden and Trump Set to Debate in June and September

The news was brought to you by Listen2.AI. Listen version: HERE
It's absolutely critical that we discuss the upcoming presidential debates between President Biden and former President Donald Trump, scheduled for June 27 in Atlanta, with another follow-up debate in September. Unlike previous years, this year's debates will steer clear of the Commission on Presidential Debates, opting instead for formats hosted by broadcast organizations, specifically CNN at their Atlanta studios.
The significance of this shift cannot be overstated. The Commission on Presidential Debates has traditionally facilitated these events since 1988, but concerns over bias and mismanagement have led to necessary changes. The Republican party, rightly so, expressed its dissatisfaction by withdrawing from the Commission back in 2022, citing these issues. This movement towards more controlled and direct engagements in debate settings is something that, frankly, might just bring back focus to the real issues at hand.
Now, diving deeper into these developments, we need to understand the dynamics at play. President Biden’s team has been maneuvering to set debates that bypass traditional formats. They aim to hold debates with no audience, supposedly to avoid "raucous or disruptive partisans." However, one must question if this move is to dodge the direct and raw feedback from an American audience. Contrastingly, Trump's approach has been open and engaged, marked by his willingness to debate Biden not just once but suggesting multiple encounters to truly gauge and challenge each other’s policies and visions for America.
On the other side, we've got Trump proposing what America really needs – more debates, more interaction, and possibly larger venues for these debates to accommodate the public, reflecting his readiness to engage with Biden head-on in front of the American people. This is a stark contrast to the Biden camp’s approach, which seems overly cautious and, dare I say, somewhat lacking in transparency.
Moreover, seemingly dodging direct confrontation with ample audience participation might hint at a broader reluctance within the Biden campaign to address hot button issues extensively in front of a live, possibly unpredictable audience. It’s quite telling about the confidence they have in their policies, or the lack thereof.
Reflecting on future implications, these debates will likely amplify voices on both sides of the political spectrum, pushing policies and candid discussions into the national spotlight. The discussions themselves, focusing on intense and direct engagements, can vastly shape the political landscape leading up to the elections.
As we prepare to tune in to these debates, remember that these pivotal moments are not just political spectacles but are crucial in shaping our understanding of where each candidate stands and what they propose for the future of our great nation.
To conclude, the upcoming presidential debates are set to potentially reshape the political discourse in America, spotlighting key issues that will influence voters as they head to the polls.

2024.05.16 02:42 dailySuttaBot Ud 4.8 Sundarī Sutta: Sundarī

Ud 4.8 Sundarī Sutta: Sundarī
https://daily.readingfaithfully.org/ud-4-8-sundari-sutta-sundari/
I have heard that on one occasion the Blessed One was staying near Sāvatthī at Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery. Now at that time the Blessed One was worshipped, revered, honored, venerated, and given homage–a recipient of robes, alms food, lodgings, & medicinal requisites for the sick. The community of monks was also worshipped, revered, honored, venerated, and given homage–a recipient of robes, alms food, lodgings, & medicinal requisites for the sick. But the wanderers of other sects were not worshipped, revered, honored, venerated, or given homage; nor were they recipients of robes, alms food, lodgings, or medicinal requisites for the sick.
So the wanderers of other sects–unable to stand the veneration given to the Blessed One and the community of monks–went to Sundarī the female wanderer and, on arrival, said to her, “Sundarī, would you dare to do something for the benefit of your kinsmen?”
“What shall I do, masters? What can I not do? I have given up even my life for the benefit of my kinsmen!”
“In that case, sister, go often to Jeta’s Grove.”
Responding, “As you say, masters,” to those wanderers of other sects, Sundarī the female wanderer went often to Jeta’s Grove. When the wanderers of other sects knew that many people had seen Sundarī the female wanderer going often to Jeta’s Grove, then–having murdered her and buried her right there in the moat-ditch surrounding Jeta’s Grove–they went to King Pasenadi Kosala and, on arrival, said to him, “Great king, we can’t find Sundarī the female wanderer.”
“But where do you suspect she is?”
“At Jeta’s Grove, great king.”
“Then in that case, search Jeta’s Grove.”
Then those wanderers of other sects, having searched Jeta’s Grove, having dug up what they had buried in the surrounding moat-ditch, having mounted it on a litter, took it into Sāvatthī and went from street to street, crossroad to crossroad, stirring up people’s indignation: “See, masters, the handiwork of the Sakyan-son contemplatives. They’re shameless, these Sakyan-son contemplatives: unvirtuous, evil-natured, liars, unholy, though they claim to be practicing the Dhamma, practicing what is harmonious, practicing the holy life, speakers of the truth, virtuous, fine-natured. They have no quality of a contemplative, no holy quality. Destroyed is their quality of a contemplative! Destroyed is their holy quality! From where is their quality of a contemplative? From where, their holy quality? Gone are they from any quality of a contemplative! Gone from any holy quality! How can a man, having done a man’s business with a woman, take her life?”
So on that occasion, people seeing monks in Sāvatthī would insult, revile, irritate, & harass them with discourteous, abusive language: “They’re shameless, these Sakyan-son contemplatives: unvirtuous, evil-natured, liars, unholy, though they claim to be practicing the Dhamma, practicing what is harmonious, practicing the holy life, speakers of the truth, virtuous, fine-natured.
Then, early in the morning, a large number of monks adjusted their under robes and–carrying their bowls & robes–went into Sāvatthī for alms. Then, having gone for alms in Sāvatthī, after the meal, returning from their alms round, they went to the Blessed One and, on arrival, having bowed down to him, sat to one side. As they were sitting there they said to the Blessed One, “At present, lord, people seeing monks in Sāvatthī insult, revile, irritate, & harass them with discourteous, abusive language: ‘They’re shameless, these Sakyan-son contemplatives: unvirtuous, evil-natured, liars, unholy…. How can a man, having done a man’s business with a woman, take her life?’”
“Monks, this noise will not last long. It will last only seven days. With the passing of seven days, it will disappear. So in that case, when those people, on seeing monks, insult, revile, irritate, & harass them with discourteous, abusive language, counter their accusation with this verse:
“He goes to hell,
the one who asserts
what didn’t take place,
as does the one
who, having done,
says, ‘I didn’t.’
Both–low-acting people–
there become equal:
after death, in the world beyond.”
So, having learned this verse in the Blessed One’s presence, the monks–whenever people, on seeing monks in Sāvatthī, insulted, reviled, irritated, & harassed them with discourteous, abusive language–countered the accusation with this verse:
“He goes to hell,
the one who asserts
what didn’t take place,
as does the one
who, having done,
says, ‘I didn’t.’
Both–low-acting people–
there become equal:
after death, in the world beyond.”
The thought occurred to those people, “They’re innocent, these Sakyan-son contemplatives. It wasn’t done by them. They’re taking an oath, these Sakyan-son contemplatives.” And so that noise didn’t last long. It lasted only seven days. With the passing of seven days, it disappeared.
Then a large number of monks went to the Blessed One and, on arrival, having bowed down to him, sat to one side. As they were sitting there, they said to him, “It’s amazing, lord. It’s astounding–how well-said that was by the Blessed One: ‘Monks, this noise will not last long. It will last only seven days. With the passing of seven days, it will disappear.’ Lord, that noise has disappeared.”
Then, on realizing the significance of that, the Blessed One on that occasion exclaimed:
They stab with their words
–people unrestrained–
as they do, with arrows,
a tusker gone into battle.
Hearing abusive words spoken,
one should endure them:
a monk with unbothered mind.

2024.05.16 02:35 RevolutionaryCry7230 Small companies that abuse their employees run rampant in Malta

A couple of years ago while in between jobs I wanted to spend the time looking for a job by accepting any job that came my way for a short while, until I found what I was looking for.
I applied for and was accepted by a small company (number of employees 14) as an office manager. Basically I had to look after all the staff and manage day to day office duties plus make longer term plans. I was shocked when I was told that I would be on minimum wage, but I said nothing because I knew I'd leave after a few weeks.
The owner was a Pakistani and he made use of a government scheme where the government would pay the salary or part of it if he employed persons with disabilities. So two of the three other workers in my office had disabilities. On the first day I asked the older of the office workers to explain some things to me. He had some form of disability. I do not know what it was but the guy was morbidly obese and he stank. He was on minimum wage which was being paid by the government, so the owner was getting his services for free. He managed one aspect of the work and I was curious about what happened when he was not at work because the sort of work involved necessitated communication with many countries on different time zones. He told me that when he was home he used his own mobile instead of the office computers to keep things going. He also told me that he was in the office much more than 40 hours per week. I asked him if he was paid overtime but he was not. So this poor sod could not find work anywhere else and found a parasitic man to milk him to death.
The owner was very vague when it came to giving me a brief to work to so I often just took my own initiative. For example I started marketing the services of the company to other businesses. Once I had arranged a meeting with the owner of another business and I met him in the morning in his office. When I arrived late at work, the owner shouted at me for being late. I am not a boy and I do not take being shouted at kindly.
Most of the workers used company cars and the owner discussed with me the problem of what would happen if any of them would get tickets since the cars were registered in his name. I told him that I knew which worker was using which car at any time so if a ticket came our way we would handle it on a case by case basis. But he did not agree. He made me prepare a short legal document to be signed by all drivers that made them culpable for any traffic tickets and that they had to pay out of their own pocket without any questions asked.
I prepared the documents, asked drivers to give me their driving licenses, which I photocopied (probably breaking data protection laws) and attached to a very unfair document which they had to sign. The workers who asked me what the document really meant before they signed it got the truth from me - "If I were you I would not sign it".
Once while I was bored in the office I got talking to another worker and jokingly I told him, If he fires me, I'll first delete all material I prepared for him from the computers. Apparently the obese disabled worker who was being abused by the owner went and blabbed to the owner and the next day I was fired.
What was funny was that the moment I walked into the office the owner unplugged my computer. Apparently the obese guy had told the owner that I really had intended to sabotage the company and the owner believed him.
Sometimes I pity people like that obese guy who are abused and are forced to act as brown nosers and spies on other employees so that they can keep their job.
These are the stories about employment that are never told.

2024.05.16 02:08 Possible-Education48 It pains me to see people mocking Jesus

Hey everyone, so not a question but just thought I’d come on here to rant and just start a conversation. Ik this is nothing new, but over the last couple of years, I’ve been seeing more and more people mainly being celebrities mock Jesus and make some of the most offensives jokes I’ve ever seen about Jesus and Christianity as a whole. Like there’s no need to be like that and Ik Jesus tells us to pray for those types of people and that’s what I wanna do and I’m gonna do, but a part of me has some resentment towards those types of people which is a feeling I don’t wanna have. Like I understand people have different beliefs and we shouldn’t force them on anyone all we can do is to help lead them to Jesus who is the truth, but it just irks me to see that they mock and make fun of someone who literally died on the cross for us so we can spend eternity with him. I’m a sinner too don’t get me wrong I’m no saint, but to make jokes like that is just insane to me. As I get older the more I realize the colder and crueler this world is getting man and it sucks to see.

2024.05.16 02:08 adulting4kids Lesson 19

Lesson 19: The Moon's Intuition and The Moon Card
Our exploration of the Tarot now takes us to The Moon, a card symbolizing intuition, the subconscious, and the mysteries of the unseen. Let's delve into themes of navigating the realm of emotions, embracing intuition, and uncovering hidden truths.
Discussion Questions: 1. How do you currently approach situations that require tapping into your intuition? 2. Reflect on a time when intuitive insights led to a deeper understanding of a situation. What aspects of your inner world did you explore? 3. In what ways can you view the concept of the subconscious as a source of guidance and wisdom?
Guided Meditation: Visualize a moonlit landscape, symbolizing the mysteries of the unseen. Feel the energy of intuition and the subconscious surrounding you. Explore the thoughts and feelings that arise during this visualization.
Exercise 19: Pull The Moon card and reflect on areas where intuition can provide guidance. Dedicate time to intuitive practices, such as meditation and dream analysis. Journal about your experiences and the insights gained through exploring the mysteries of your inner world.

2024.05.16 01:48 TechnicalCoyote3341 I [35/f] went snooping on my [35/f] partners phone to find the truth after suspecting lies. What do I do from here?

Ok so for a number of months I’ve been having conversations with my partner where things haven’t been adding up, things don’t seem to make any kind of sense and anytime I get an answer it always changes a little bit or timelines move, or there’s a new detail added that wasn’t there before
This has been going on for about 3 months now. They’re all totally insignificant things that actually I don’t care about if they happened or not. It’s more that I’m being lied to about it, more so since some of my partners past actions would lead me to question their honesty with me. (Ie. They’ve lied to me before, flat out or by omission)
I don’t want to go into specifics of what these things are but they’re legal, hiding things out at another location and telling me they’re someplace else, arranging a new house to leave to etc all whilst telling me it was all ok, not to worry and she wanted to be here - that I was being hypersensitive
It doesn’t help that in the past we agreed an open physical relationship could work for her, but she took a country mile with it and started lying or omitting to cover it up - some of the clearly nonsensical stories I believed at the time still make me wonder quite how I never saw it then
Well last week I couldn’t take it. I cracked and I had a look, something I have never ever done before in my life. Every single thing I suspected to be true was true - in horrifying detail too, the forms and receipts for everything she already claimed not to have done, or told me completely different stories for alongside the messages cluing other people in on what story to tell me incase I asked them about it all
This morning I called her out and was honest about what I had done. I said I wasn’t proud of it, I know it was wrong and I’m sorry that I did it but I knew she was lying to me.
After the initial making me the arsehole attempt for going through her phone I said that I had suspected she was lying, given her chance after chance of me begging in tears to simply be told the truth because I was having issues trusting and she continued to lie.
That I did it because I had to know if she was trustworthy, and she was not.
She said she didn’t know what I wanted her to say. I offered “well, this is the point where you can either be honest with me now, or you can double down and insist what you told me before is the complete truth”
Of course she doubled down and told me a different story to what a legal receipt said had happened and of course I couldn’t believe her
I asked her to leave because I can’t fix a relationship on a foundation of mistrust. So she left to go to her parents.
She says it’s not over. She wants to come home but she needs space to work on things herself. She wants the relationship etc etc
I’ve not heard from her or tried to speak to her about it all. I’m really just looking for a bit of insight on what people think my next move should be?
In my heart I want her back so badly. In my head I don’t know how I will ever be able to trust again
EDIT: more context added

2024.05.16 01:44 Domken726 Acceptance

I truly think this is the right flair. My mind finally proved to myself I’m a true incel in actions and if that doesn’t show me how fucked I am then idk.
Anybody who has told me anything useful in this sub I truly apologize it’s all for naught even if your advice was amazing this guy just can’t get it I even tear up as I write this because I hate the truth. Professional help was so so close within my reach but again I screwed that up, I was so excited to know how to be normal and not be a terrible guy. Maybe I’ll ask final questions, is it wrong to want to be a normal person with a social/ dating life? Is it wrong to want to grow old with someone and have kids like your parents want? I guess it is everywhere you read us incels are entitled, incels aren’t usuallythe greatest with and I’m ok with that I mean I suck so I guess it’s fine.
The more I type this the more I breakdown from realizing more and more truth and see help is so damn far and always escapes I’m tired I truly wish I could have a Time Machine and see maybe where Dom did a 180 in his life and started heading toward incelville, population: me or who knows maybe god has a plan, I would’ve to have been in my social prime at least once ya know
Thanks to this sub for giving me hope I love seeing the happy stories and successes and I hope to see more and any commenters you all derserve the world and also anyone else I missed much love <3

2024.05.16 01:40 Turbulent-Tonight975 The All Quiet On Set documentary (on Nickelodeon) is a hit piece against Dan Schneider and is unfairly presented

I watched several parts of the documentary All Quiet On Set that was released recently and it absolutely stunk as a ridiculously unfair hit piece against Dan Schneider.
The documentary discusses the experience of many childhood actors who starred in a variety of Nickelodeon shows. It talks about the 'toxic' environment and how these kids were not protected and so on. The whole piece feels like a joke that goes out of its way to blame everything on Dan Schneider in ways that are not fair or intellectually honest.
Much of the documentary talks about moments in the shows that seem to be inappropriate for children with adult themes that are implied, or that the child actoactress is sexualized. The documentary does a great job of implying that Rob is responsible without giving real context or perspective. The documentary is literally taking tens of thousands of hours of programming from shows that appeared over 20 year period and shows many moments that from an adult perspective seem inappropriate.
The documentary fails to actually put it in terms of the perspective of the audience watching these shows. I watched these shows and as an 11 year old I didn't even know what a c**shot was, someone getting 'slimmed' was just funny. I'm guessing that the young audience watching probably didn't have a clue what any of the dialogue that was questionable actually meant either BECAUSE WE WERE KIDS. Its such a load of crap showing these few cherrypicked moments from thousands of hours of content and viewing it from an adult perspective the way nobody seemed to care about doing for 20 years until now.
Even better is how the documentary implies that Dan is the one responsible. All the scripts were written by writers, reviewed by other people, reviewed by executives, then brought to set where the parents (or guardians) of the minors were present and could form objections. That is 4 or 5 levels to get to the point of shooting these shows and it is all Dan's fault that some potentially inappropriate dialogue got to that point? Not the writers, or Nick executives, or review groups, or the parents of the actors on scene; none of these hold any responsibility? The documentary sure thinks so, that Dan should have been rewriting the scripts on set when all the groups that failed to excise the inappropriate dialogue all failed numerous times by the time it even got to Dan.
Even better is Dan being difficult to work with and unprofessional. You mean to tell me that a guy who produced so many high quality and successful shows was sometimes difficult to work with because of the standards he had? Sorry to break it to the snowflakes of the world but most successful people are difficult to work with because they demand quality and won't accept mediocre. There is a reason Dan's shows were highly successful. Most successful people in business and entertainment are difficult. Look at director James Cameron. The guy directed Titanic, Avatar series, Terminator series, and Alien. He is also notoriously difficult to work with demanding a lot out of the actors in his movies. Like Dan, James Cameron demanded quality and pissed off many people who worked with him. Maybe the success of both men had something to do with their ability to be adequate and made very successful shows and movies.
Also the 'unprofessionalism' attacks on Dan seem a little over the top. You mean a guy who demands quality professionally can be temperamental and say insensitive things on set at times? Go to any high pressure workplace and the same thing happens. The difference is that people there handle it. He also got 'shoulder massages' on set from adults. GASP!!!! Give me a break.
The part of the abuse from Drake Bell is a very sad part that happened. The documentry could have cared about the truth that Dan didn't hire the people that did the abuse, and kept them out as soon as it was known. Dan did what he could. Because the documentary is a hit piece, these details to exonerate the character of Dan Schneider get ignored.
The documetary and former child actors and actresses should have been honest with a little more perspective that in 20 years of making award winning series, things happen. They could look more in to the writers, executives, review boards that looked at scripts. They could look at how the child stars had parents and guardians ON SET yet seemed to never say or do anything when it came to these supposedly horrible experiences. They could blame the parents for putting these young kids in these difficult acting roles at such young ages. Those won't happen because it is easier to blame Dan for every shortcoming of an entire multibillion dollar company and system that led to the final product that was the shows.
The attacks on Dan seem like something made by his enemies that is absolutely unfairly biased against him, and makes little attempt at intellectual honesty. It goes along with this woke world we live in where everyone wants to be the victim and has to find fault in anyone who is in a position of authority or control. Dan just happens to be the guy in position so blaming it all on him is easier than having any sense of nuance and looking at all parts that went into this at every level of Nickelodeon and especially the parents of these children who performed on set. Maybe the question of how things should be for child actors generally is a question that needed to be asked more.
It really felt like it just wanted to make Dan into the boogieman in all of this when in reality, I don't think very many people if they were put in his position of doing award winning shows for 2 decades with thousands of hours of content, and involvement of that many people and production- could have done any or much better. Most people never have any position of responsibility that puts them in charge of so many people and so many high level situations or high level projects. I'm sure anyone who produced that amount of content under the same circumstances would have a few things they could cherrypick out that were questionable in the thousands of hours of content over 20 years.
I don't know Dan and I never met the guy, I am just tired of hearing him get dragged through the wringer in ways that seem completely unfair by the cancel culture mob. The system had failures at all levels and making him the fall guy is not fair. He apologized for his shortcomings in professionalism and how he could have treated some people better. People talking about him like an abuser he never was, and dragging his name through the mud seems unreasonable form all I saw. It feels like the guy did the best he could in such difficult situations, and more to the point, I don't think all those maligning the guy could have done any better themselves. Its very easy to attack someone when you don't have the same responsibilities because of course the person can imagine doing a perfect job knowing what we know now and having 25 years of hindsight- the hindsight Dan and everyone there didn't have.
