My partner and I are interested in adopting a pet. My SO has never had a pet before but I’ve had 1 dog. He suggested bunnies to me because he remembers his sister had one.
I got really interested when I saw two baby bunnies at a pet store and the managers told us all about them. They were just so cute and soft. So I did a bunch of research and got really excited about creating a cool setup for them to jump on, run through tunnels, and hang with us. We both game and I read and crochet which would be good to snuggle or hang with them on the couch.
Every time I’ve brought it up to friends everyone has said to not get bunnies and then they don’t clearly explain why not to get them. They hint that they aren’t super affectionate but don’t get into depth about it. I found a rescue in my area where the fosters write great info about their fosters and actually found a couple bunnies that they describe as being very affectionate and like dogs. So I figure that should solve that?
So right now is the perfect time to have a pet. I get random days off from work or get off early, I spend a lot of time at home, and I am a bit lonely so would like a pal when my partner is busy. (All my friends are in other states.) I live in a fairly large apartment for just 2 and have a large almost empty living room perfect for a bunny setup. I’ll have to ask he landlord about having pets however.
My issue is that I am waiting to get into a 2 year medical program that is somewhat intense. The first year is in another state with classes where I can study at home around the bunnies. Otherwise my partner will take over care during then. The second year is working in different hospitals around the country every 2 months for 8 months. Some of those months have a good chance of being in my hometown (minimum 2 months and up to 4 months) where we both have family. My partner may want to go with me to these hospitals as well. Moving a lot is not great for bunnies right?
This is my biggest issue. And I have no clue when I’ll get in since it is very hard to get into this program (I’ve already been denied once).
Is it a bad idea to get 2 bonded bunnies now? I see 2 I really like at this local rescue that are 4 years old but a few others that I like around 2 years old.

My dog Buddy is a rescue mutt (lab, retriever, Shiba Inu and probably some other breeds mixed in there) hat I’ve had with me since he was about 10 weeks old. He is almost 10 yrs old. He’s always been very reactive and anxious, but he recently started biting people over the last two years following a skin infection on his legs and paws. My Dad was dog sitting and I told him not to touch Buddy’s paws and he decided it would be a good idea to wash them and Buddy freaked out and bit him on the hands with a single puncture wound. Following this incident, there were several changes to the household with my fiancé and stepsons moving in. My dog has been been staying with my father when my stepsons are with us. I had just started to do a bit of integration with Buddy and my stepsons, which went well given my instructions to the kids to just leave the dog alone. However, right after that he bit my father’s significant other very severely on the hands late at night. I think the significant other was acting erratically (drunk) and went to pet Buddy and Buddy bit him severely on the hand and would not let go. This was by far the worst he has ever bittenanyone. The significant other had to have multiple appointments with specialists to fully heal their hand and deal with nerve pain.
Buddy has been on fluoxetine for several years for his anxiety and the vet added in gabapentin for anxiety as well as arthritis and joint pain from luxated patellas. There were two times this past winter where his pain was so bad that it seemed like he was giving up. He stopped eating and was struggling to walk but then would get a second wind a few days later.
We have since had a baby and have trained Buddy to stay away from the baby which he does. And we never leave the baby with Buddy alone. However, the baby is getting close to crawling and it just won’t be a safe situation anymore. We started to work with a very good trainer who trains the owners on how to retrain fear aggressive dogs. We got a few sessions in but between 3 kids and working full time, we could not keep up with the training. The beginning sessions did seem to help and Buddy is very smart and was responsive to the training.
I feel distressed on what the right thing to do is. We can try to rehome him with full disclosure about his history. But I’m not sure how to go about that. I’m also seriously considering putting him down given the severity of the bite to my Dad’s significant other and Buddy’s significant leg / patella pain. I love this dog. I’ve raised him since he was a puppy and he and I have been through a lot together. I don’t feel like it’s safe to have him in our (very small) home with 3 kids. My Dad is elderly and can’t take him full time.
I’m interested in any advice/ suggestions you may have. Thank you.

Excuse my bad english, i used AI to translate some parts, im not a native speaker. So, here goes the story of how Jehovah's Witnesses almost drove me to suicide, how my grandmother disowned me, and why I am now 1,327 kilometers away from my family, haha.
I was born into a three-generation JW family in Cancún, Mexico. I never had birthdays, Halloween, or any of the world's holidays. From ages 0 to 3, my nuclear family was distant from the JWs. I learned to read and began reading Watchtower literature. I never liked the idea that Jehovah was going to commit genocide on 99% of the world's population and that we would be happy in paradise with exile, resurrection, and more. At age 4, they resumed their service to the organization and tried to raise me solely with Watchtower literature. Everything else was practically forbidden, although I loved watching documentaries and reading about nature. I became a fan of some school books. I was never allowed to have a single friend, and at school, I was forced to have perfect grades, or else my parents would beat me, and this continued until I was 8 years old.
When I was 8, my father quit his job because a coworker started sexually harassing him. From that moment on, life in my family went downhill. I discovered I was gay, and every "teaching" started to irritate me more and more. My father tried to dedicate himself more to the organization's service, so it took him almost a year to find a job that allowed him to do so. At the beginning of this period, I was sent to my grandmother's house for her to take care of me for 3 months. The hell of the Catholics sounded more appealing than being there. I stopped going to school, and every day began with waking up at 5:45 am, considering the day's text for an hour, then breakfast, preaching from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm under 30-degree heat, a break for a meager meal, and then continuing with studies from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Upon returning home, we would study the ministry school or the Watchtower until 10:00 pm, every day. Sundays, we had our meeting at 9:00 am, and we still went out to preach in the morning from 6:30 to 8:30.
I remember during that time I lost weight, going from being overweight to the lower limit of a healthy weight, even developing anemia. I suffered from heat strokes, dehydration, and other issues. The worst part was the Saturday Watchtower study. My grandmother wouldn't schedule studies that day so we could study the Watchtower. We started at 3 in the afternoon and continued until nearly 10 at night or even later, reading every biblical passage, every reference in the central column. We didn't have dinner until we finished studying. If I yawned, she would pinch me, and one day she tried to slap me. Adding to this was her favoritism towards other more "spiritual" cousins and her constant reminders that I would die for not having blind faith in God. Those were 3 months of my life. After that, I returned home and resumed my studies.
That year, we ended up living off poor government aid, and I made my first friend in primary school. Her mother was the sweetest woman I had ever known. She gave me desserts, fed me when we had no money, something the brothers NEVER did for my family. Here begins the next chapter of my family.
My father got a job in Cancun's public transportation but quit because he had to break many laws in a highly competitive and illegal environment. Desperate, my father accepted the lowest job offer from one of his JW brothers, working from 8 am to 6:30 pm, with no overtime pay, for $25 a week to support a family of five. Meanwhile, the indoctrination continued, torturing me with the idea that I would be destroyed at Armageddon for being secretly homosexual and completely isolated from my schoolmates due to my beliefs and poverty, thanks to this religion and abusive brothers.
My father started taking me to work on weekends, some weekdays, and holidays. They didn't pay anything extra for me; I worked entirely for free. At school, I resented the lack of money. Sometimes I would pick up government notebooks that kids threw away. My uniform was falling apart.
I started secondary school, and this situation continued. I was switched from the afternoon shift to the morning shift because of bullying at school. During that time, I met my first real friend, a guy who always supported me. He was a fan of creepy pastas and the paranormal, someone who was absent once or twice a week but with whom I enjoyed spending time. We would lie on the classroom floor listening to scary stories. I developed romantic feelings for him but never had the chance to confess. One day, after school, he walked me to a street before my house, where my father was waiting for me. A brother had leaked what was happening. I had managed to get a cell phone, which my parents checked daily to see what I was doing. At 15, they forbade me from having any contact with him, so I ended the friendship and suppressed my feelings until we finished the last year of secondary school. He didn't attend the graduation day. That day, I was completely alone. My parents went with me, but no one approached me. In Mexico, there's a tradition of signing your friends' shirts. Mine had the signature of one teacher, and nothing more. None of my classmates recognized me as a friend that day.
Two months passed. I entered high school, and one day, while walking back from preaching with my mother, I met one of my former schoolmates. We had ended up fighting, but we respected each other. With each assembly, these feelings grew stronger. They kept reminding me that I had to do it, that I had to go out into the world as a JW. And everyday, some homophobic things that make me more and more fragile.
At 18, my both parents ended up working to pay off debts. I started staying home, waking up at 2 pm, and sleeping up to 20 hours a day. They labeled me spiritually lazy. I was dying more each day, and no one cared. No one in the congregation was truly my friend.
Then one day, my sister sent me to a government program to get a job. A psychologist noticed my problems and interviewed me. I started a small treatment, where I slowly made friends and became more expressive. I didn't know how to speak properly with others even though I could give talks and preach. I was socially stagnant. All the young people in the congregation ostracized me for not being a blind believer, and on top of that, I was sarcastic, so I was the one left out. I was invited to a gathering only once, with the condition that I couldn't talk to anyone about anything. Time passed, and from that government program, I started working at an institution. I met my first angels, my female coworkers, five wonderful women who practically taught me how to speak again, who explained how to celebrate a birthday, how to socialize, how to talk properly with others.
During this time, with some expertise in hiding information from my family, I bought a phone I only used at work. Curiosity got the better of me, and I started visiting Telegram groups, where I met my former partner, someone who helped me finally leave the Jehovah's Witnesses. When the pandemic started, I was sent home. My family tried to use that phone, but it had a password. When they asked for it, I refused. For the first time in my life, I refused such an order. I started to distance myself little by little. I grew my hair long, started going out more, talking more with my ex, and so on. Gradually, I distanced myself. I didn't attend Zoom meetings, and I stopped preaching by letter. Then the presidential elections came, and I was forced to vote to keep my job, which was the only source of income for my family during the pandemic. I did it, went out to vote, which cost me my position as a publisher. I was more than happy. Some brothers called me, hat was the firstime in 4 years that they made a phone call. The quarantine ended, and I finally returned to my office with my coworkers.
Then my grandmother reappeared, trying to condition me to become a preacher again, and she tried to manipulate me. I flatly refused and left. Then something worse happened: she came to live with us, and every day it was the same argument, until one day, during a trip to the beach (Cancun, baby), she tried to corner me with an elder and a pioneer. I simply told them to move away. They refused and said I had to come back and cut my hair. I told my grandmother no, and that I didn't want to talk about it with anyone anymore, that it was my life and she should use the little time she had left. Later, I found out that she had removed me from her will over some land in the outskirts of Cancun. I don't regret.
Then my father noticed something and told me that if he discovered anything, he would kick me out of the house. He asked me if I was gay, to which I replied "maybe." He said that if I declared it, I would have to leave the house. At that time, I had already broken up with my ex, who had moved to the center of the country. I talked to him and his current partner, and they said it would be no problem, that they could take me in if something happened. I told my sister about my suicidal thoughts after she asked what had happened with my father. Then, my parents got me a psychologist, who started helping me progress and overcome some of the issues I had with my self-esteem. However, what I didn't know was that he was leaking EVERYTHING to my parents, and thus they confirmed my sexuality and found out about my relationship.
I endured that year and told my parents that I would leave home on my 23rd birthday. I took the UNAM exam, which I didn't pass 😅😅. I told them, and they dropped a bombshell: "we were hoping you would fail your exam so you wouldn't leave." That gave me the impetus to do it, to finalize my escape. With anger and nostalgia, a few days later, I took a flight to another city where my friends took me in. I think I can consider them more than friends, they are my family, i have one on cancun, that needs to leave that religion. Right now, I'm looking into starting treatment again, specifically for victims of coercive sects. I live much more freely, maybe not in a super city, but happily, without my family's eyes always watching me. I have never felt so free in my life.
To the Jehovah's Witnesses reading this, remember, we born and raised in cages, but it is not a disease to fly; it is the freedom of this world that awaits us. It will be more dangerous, but it will also be much more interesting. You will be able to suffer and enjoy, love and pain, the full life, not a life of only pain to die in loneliness, to die with a false hope. You can move forward, you can make it; there are many like us out here. It will hurt, but once you learn to fly, you won't even want to look back. My life only began at 24, I am just about to start studying at university. I didn't study because of that religion, but I know I will soon. These chains are not that strong; they are just too big to carry. Throw them off and come fly with us.
This is my history, my life, the start of my new life.

I have developed a theory to prove that Shanks is indeed evil and not a kind-hearted man who cares for other people.
Chapter 1: Relations with the Government
My first point is when Shanks has a meeting with the Five Elder Stars. When Shanks enters their room, the Five Elder Stars aren’t at all alerted or concerned that an Emperor of the Sea entered their room, even when Shanks pulls out his sword. In fact, they have a casual discussion together. Furthermore, I believe that Shanks works for the government as a spy to try and capture the One Piece. Shanks also casually has a chat with Sengoku at Marineford.
Chapter 2: Luffy’s Childhood
Shanks acts like a paternal figure to Luffy, which is strange considering he would not need to befriend Luffy to get the One Piece. My explanation for this is that it is possible that you can only get the One Piece if you have the Will of D, Which Luffy has but Shanks does not. Shanks intends to use Luffy to get the One Piece. It also explains why Shanks lost his arm to a Sea King protecting Luffy even though he has Conqueror’s Haki and could have easily destroyed the beast, he let his arm be eaten to earn Luffy’s trust. This also explains why Shanks befriended Luffy, as before eating the Gomu Gomu No Mi, Luffy was just a little random runt. Luffy gets his powers from a devil fruit which was in a crate next to him. Shanks acts unhappy that Luffy ate the fruit, but I believe that he put the fruit there on purpose, knowing that Luffy would eat any food he can get his hands on. He probably does this because he knows that Luffy needs to be powerful if he will someday find the One Piece. Shanks probably got the fruit from the World Government, who probably told him the fruit’s powers, which explains how Shanks somehow knew the fruit Luffy ate was the Gomu Gomu No Mi, even though it is said that only a devil fruit user can tell their powers after eating the fruit. And this wasn’t any random fruit; Shanks gave him a literal God Fruit because he knows Luffy will need it if he is to become a powerful pirate. I theorize that The World Government is unaware of Shanks using Luffy. Shanks has the World Government thinking he has a special power to obtain The One Piece, when in reality it is Luffy, but if the World Government knew that they would ditch Shanks and use Luffy instead. This also could explain why Shanks is always so happy when Luffy gets a higher bounty because he knows he is closer to achieving his goal.
Chapter 3: Shanks’ Motive
I believe that Shanks' plan is to betray the World Government, and keep the One Piece for himself, for an unknown goal.
Chapter 4: Shanks’ Childhood
Shanks is 39 years old, while Rocks. D Xebec, Shanks’ possible Father, died 38 years ago. My theory is that Monkey D. Garp adopted baby Shanks, and took him in and trained him to be in the Navy. He then was sent to infiltrate Gol D. Roger’s crew, possibly causing Roger’s incurable disease, just so he could get information on the One Piece. It is also fairly strange that Shanks’ full name is never mentioned, and many theorists have suggested that he most definitely could be one of the World Nobles, whose only superiors are the Five Elder Stars and Imu, the secret monarch of the One Piece world.
Chapter 5: Conversation with Whitebeard
Shanks boards Whitebeard’s ship to tell him an important message. He tells Whitebeard to stay away from Blackbeard and to not send Ace after him because Blackbeard is too strong for Ace. This puzzled me, because it seemed completely unnecessary for Ace to not die in order for Shanks to get the One Piece, but then I remembered something. Ace is Luffy’s brother, and if Ace died to Blackbeard, then Luffy would likely go after Blackbeard to avenge his brother’s death, only to die himself, which would make all of Shanks’ hard work be for nothing. However, Ace got captured by the Marines instead and was sent to Impel Down which didn’t interfere with his plan, luckily for Shanks. Even though Ace would die in Marineford, Luffy would luckily survive which gave Shanks a lucky break.
Theory
So this is how the story goes. 1-year old Shanks is left behind after Rocks D. Xebec’s defeat in God Valley. Found by Monkey D. Garp of the marines, who brings him to the Five Elder Stars who decide to train him as a spy. After his training, Shanks’ first mission is to infiltrate the Pirate King Gol D. Roger’s crew. He infiltrates his crew, possibly causing Roger’s incurable disease leading to his death. Then assembles a crew and tries to find the One Piece as a pirate, but realizes he can’t without the Will of D., so he sets off in search of someone with the Will of D. Eventually, he finds Monkey D. Luffy, the very grandson of the man who adopted him. He gets Luffy to eat a devil fruit, then gains his trust by saving Luffy and purposefully losing his arm. Then, he gives Luffy his straw hat to further increase Luffy’s trust in him. Then he sets off waiting patiently for Luffy to become a powerful pirate, celebrating after Luffy’s recent achievements. Then he walks into the Five Elder Stars room and says he wants to talk to them about a certain pirate, probably Luffy. He probably is warning the Five Elders that Luffy is indeed close to getting the One Piece and that they should get ready to go in and recapture the One Piece from Luffy.
My theory is not complete, but bring all of the points together and you will find the truth of Red-Haired Shanks, the man who had us all thinking he was a kind and caring pirate, when in the truth he was simply using everyone he pretended to work with; His crew, Luffy, and the World Government to achieve his obscure and unknown true goal.

In terms of games I'm currently playing Modern Warfare 3 and fabledom. I also have Nightingale, No Mans Sky, Grounded, ARK: Survival, Sea of Thieves, Phasmophobia, Destiny 2, Red Dead 2 Online, and the Forest. I've got the Xbox gaming pass so I can play whatever is on there as well.

Making friends and finding people with similar interests as an adult is hard so here is a little list of some of mine that I haven't listed yet:

• I collect bones, old 1800's photography, and antiques
  
• I LOVE watching live music. I've got quite a few tickets bought for this year.
  
• Being outdoors makes me super happy! I bought a kayak last year and I'm always looking for an excuse to take it out. Nature hikes are my favorite part activity, but I'm also a fan of fishing and anything that gives me a good opportunity to look for neat rocks.
  
• In the winter when it’s too cold for me to want to be outside I am usually cuddled up with my cat on the couch crocheting a blanket or a hat for family members.
  

The Hat man, or the shadow man as my sister and I have always called him has been tormenting our family for years. From all the research I’ve done it seems to be commonly believed that the Hat Man is a sleep paralysis demon/experience, exclusive to sleep.
However, I was wondering if anyone has had an experience with the hat man whilst being fully awake, and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol?
My story:
In about 2012 I was 13 and my little sister was about 9, my mom had left us home alone to run to the store a few minutes away. This was nothing new to us as we had been home alone with older siblings multiple times, and we had even been left alone on our own before a few times.
My mom had just left about 10 minutes prior, and my sister and i were sitting in the family room, which sat right at the end of the hallway were all the bedrooms were. My sister requested we go to her room to play dolls, and I reluctantly agreed, as I didn’t seem to find that too fun at age 13, but I agreed and we both looked down the hallway towards the room we were going to be headed to, and we both saw a tall back figure with a top hat and cape coming out of my room, it glided down the hallway right at us as if it was floating, and then disappeared into my sisters room.
My sister and I were so scared we ran to the other end of the house and called our mom. But in the 10 minutes it took her to get home we continuously heard what sounded like soft thuds and whispers coming from my sisters room.
Now, over 10 years later my brother lives in that house, and his wife complains of hearing kids running and laughing at night, only to get up to check and have all the kids be asleep. My brother himself has gotten home from work and seen the same black cloaked figure standing over his wife and baby in their room watching them sleep. I have personally seen him about about 2-3 additional times over the last few years, but it’s always in a flash, just enough to make you gaslight yourself into thinking it may have been the lighting
Most recently my younger sister and I (the one who was with me when we saw the original apparition ) were babysitting for my brother, and we decided to keep the baby in the living room with us as she was still eating every 3 hours and we didn’t want to wake the other kids by going back and forth through the house to get her. Over the course of that night we heard what sounded like children calling our names, only to check a find out every child was sound asleep. At one point we went to check on the kids and my nephew had woke up, and told us that he kept hearing his brother call for us which made it feel even creepier because he was the only one awake at that point and we hadn’t told the kids anything.
Has anyone else had experiences like this? If not I’d also definitely love feedback as to what you Guys think is going on here .
I personally think the shadow entity is attached to that house, and my sister and o weren’t meant to see it, and once we did it became a taunting game for the entity.
TL;DR: the hat man has been taunting my family for over 10 years.

I have another mom friend who is very nice and sweet and I've never thought twice or had any questions or concerns about. However, ever since I had my baby she's been so eager to babysit. Like will respond in 10 seconds and rearrange her whole schedule at the drop of a hat the second I mention that I need to get cleaning done, have appointments, literally any life things. She's even been kind of pushy about coming over to watch my baby and I had to gently let her down a couple of times before she took the hint that I didn't want comany. My heart is telling me I'm overreacting but the intense eagerness to watch my baby has my gut second guessing things. She is the mom of teenagers so I wonder if maybe missing the baby stage has something to do with it and it's totally innocent. I get it, teenagers are hard and babies are super sweet and snuggly. We've been close friends for years and theres never been any issues before this..... I know it's hard to say with only this for context, but what would you do in this situation? After you had your kids, is there anyone that you always trusted that suddenly you felt differently about?

My best friend from high school and I have drifted apart over the years, mostly due to her dating and later marrying my abusive ex. But I still love her immensely, and made her a crocheted afghan for her daughter the last time we met in person. If she ever needs me, I'll be there in a heartbeat.
When I got married, I asked her to be a bridesmaid. She said my ex wouldn't allow it unless I apologized to him. I have done nothing to apologize for. The only hurt I ever caused him was breaking up with him, and I told her as much and asked why she would want me to apologize for that since, if I hadn't broken up with him, she wouldn't be dating him. She had no answer for that, and just said he wouldn't let her come. We've only spoken once in person since then, years later, which is when I gave her the blanket for her daughter. I do get occasional updates from mutual friends, but he won't allow her to contact me. Despite the fact that he still stalks me online (I live on the other side of the country, so the in-person stalking has stopped).
Fast forward a few years to my baby sister getting married. At her reception, she displayed a quilt along with a few other gifts of similar hand-made sentimental value. I asked who the quilt was from, as it was lovely and obviously took time and skill to make. She was cagey and tried changing the topic before suddenly having an "emergency" she needed to see to (no actual emergency, she almost immediately stopped to chat with someone else).
A while later, the truth came out. The quilt was made by my best friend's mom. I found it a bit strange she would give one to my baby sister, as they weren't close, especially since I hadn't even received one, and I practically lived at her house for 5 years. Come to find out she had entrusted it to my mom and sister to give me for my wedding.
Mom is now saying she tried to give me the quilt, but I had turned it down because I hated the color scheme.
First off, no. I had never seen the quilt before in my life, until it showed up on display at my baby sister's wedding.
Second, while the color scheme is not my favorite... it matches the wallpaper in the tiny bedroom I had my senior year of high school. A room my BF's mom knew well and had photos of. And it is a color scheme I like, even if not my absolute favorite, and a more gender-neutral one than my absolute favorite. So ideal for a married couple.
Third, it's the same color scheme as another quilt of mine which has also gone "missing" since my mom and sister helped me move college apartments many years ago. A small, not-quite-twin sized quilt made by my grandmother shortly before she died. Which now leaves me wondering if I'll find that one in her home as well, if I ever flew out to visit unexpectedly.
And fourth, even if I had disliked the color - which I don't! - I would never have been so rude as to turn down something so precious as a quilt! Those things are works of art! Even the most basic quilt is expensive and labor-intensive. One made by a quilter of her caliber is a treasure. Not to mention the sentimental nature of a gift from someone who got a first row seat to watch me grow from young teen to adulthood. I don't care if the quilt had been chartreuse and fuschia (it was cream, forest green, and maroon, btw), I would have loved it anyway, because it was a gift from someone I respect and admire.
I'm not sure which hurts more: the theft itself, the gaslighting, or them making my best friend's mom feel like I refused her generous, loving gift. And at this point, living so far away from everyone involved, I'm not sure I can straighten things out, even if everyone else wanted to.

Narrator: It was an early September morning. The sun was starting to rise, and the townsfolk were starting to wake up and do their usual routines. One of these townsfolk just happened to be a police officer. They were called into the station, and came as soon as they could. They stepped out of their parked car and walked over to the entrance. Before they entered, they would quickly fix their hat and tie.
Once inside, they would pass the lobby and go to the counte reception area. On the other side, stood a deputy with black, short hair and black eyes. They wore a blue button up with a police vest, blue jeans, and black shoes. A walkie talkie was attached to their vest. This deputy’s name was Jack. When he saw the police officer before him, he smiled.
Jack: Hello Sofia. Glad you could come.” (Happily)
Sofia: “Of course. From what I could tell by John’s tone during the call, it’s something very important.”
Narrator: The officer’s name was Sofia Asturias. Sometimes, she was called, officer Asturias. She had black eyes and medium blonde deep red hair. She wore a blue collared uniform, a cap with a black rim and a badge in the center of it. A black tie, pants, and shoes. She carried a glock firearm, a taser, a radio, and handcuffs at all times. She has been a part of the force for some time now.
Jack’s demeanor changed when he heard what Sofia had inferred.
Jack: It is, Sofia. Let me take you to the evidence room where John is currently. He’ll explain more about what’s happened. (urgently)
Narrator: Sofia nodded and entered the reception area. Together, she and Jack went over to the evidence room. Jack softly knocked on the door, and heard
John: Come in (lost in thought)
Narrator: Jack opened the door and entered with Sofia.
Jack: Officer Asturias is here, John. (presenting)
Narrator: John turned around to face the two. He had brown curly hair and a mustache, his eyes were black. He wore a black shirt and dark blue jacket. A black belt for his brown jeans, and had on black shoes. He currently has a cigar in his mouth. He took it out to talk.
John: Officer Asturias, I know that we just recently talked on the phone, before you came. Though now that you’re here, I’ll be giving you the bigger picture. (serious) Sofia: I understand. What’s the bigger picture then? (curiously)
Narrator: John motioned her to come to his side, before he pointed to a picture on the investigation thread they were producing.
John: Last night, a mutilated body was found in an alleyway. One of the victim’s arms and legs were missing. They also had a stab wound on their back. (Explanatory) Right now, we don’t have any leads, whoever did this left no trace. (frustrated)
Narrator: Sofia looked at the gruesome picture, and listened to what the sheriff had to say. Focusing on the important details.
Sofia: This is the first case of mutilation, correct? (Questioningly)
John: Correct (confirming)
Sofia: How can I help with the case? So we can make sure that this doesn’t happen again. (interested)
John: For now, be vigilant. Especially on your night shift. Hopefully we can gather more clues in the time being before this perpetrator strikes again. (Serious and urgent, with a sense of caution and concern.)
Sofia: Alright, I’ll make sure that nothing slips by me, specifically anything suspicious. I’ll leave you and Jack to it then. (cooperative)
Narrator: Sofia would turn around and leave John, and was facing Jack.
Sofia: I’ll see you later.
Jack: See you, Sofia (friendly)
Narrator: Sofia would exit the evidence room, after giving Jack a smile back, after he gave a smile to her. She left the way she came and entered her police cruiser. She was lost in thought for a bit. She needed to ensure this didn’t spiral out of control. She had a family to think of. A whole town she needed to ensure stayed safe. She now had a clear objective, as she left the parking lot and onto the streets.
It was still morning. In one of the houses of the town, the Rosendale family dweled. Sofia knew them well, because they were her family. Her niece was Evelyn Rosendale, a female teenager. She had green eyes and black hair. She wore a high neck lantern sleeve sweater, flap cargo pants and wedge boots. She was the youngest, two years younger than her older brother. Sofia’s nephew was Toby Rosendale, a young adult male. He had hazel eyes, and rich auburn hair. He wore a plaid drawstring hooded shirt, navy blue jeans, and blue sneakers. Sofia’s brother in law and the father of both Evelyn and Toby, was Andrew Rosendale. He had brown eyes and brown sable hair. He wore a plain color lapel part zipper shirt, with pants and shoes.
At the moment in the household, Evelyn was getting ready for school, while Toby was getting ready to head to his college classes. Their dad was cooking breakfast for them.
Toby: Sis, hurry up. You still have to eat breakfast before going to school! (calling out)
Eveyln: Speak for yourself, you have to eat breakfast too. I’m not the only one at risk of coming late to school! (calling back)
Andrew: Breakfast is ready! (announce)
Narrator: Soon the two siblings raced down the stairs and to the dining room. Where their dad had placed the two plates full of food on the table.
Evelyn: Looks delicious, dad. Thanks. (grateful)
Toby: Thanks, dad. (grateful)
Andrew: Of course. (happily) Now eat up, I don’t want any of you to be late for your classes. (sternly)
Both: Yes dad (in acknowledgement)
Narrator: After the two were done, they stood up with their plates and utensils and placed the items in the sink. Before grabbing their bags.
Toby: Bye dad. (in a rush)
Andrew: Bye son (warmly)
Narrator: Evelyn hadn’t left yet. She wanted to tell her dad where she planned to go after school. She came up to him.
Evelyn: Hey dad? Would it be ok, if after school, I went to the candy club? I just want to get some candy. (Polite and slightly tentative)
Narrator: Andrew thought for a moment. He saw no harm in Evelyn doing so.
Andrew: Yes, you can go. As long as you have the money buy some candy and don’t come late. (granting permission)
Evelyn: I do and I won’t. See you. (happily)
Narrator: Evelyn left with a smile on her face, she was on her way to school. Andrew would clean up the plates and utensils and get himself ready for work. He put on his suit, ready for another day at the bank.
Script 3:
Narrator: It was late afternoon, close to evening. Evelyn had left school and was on her way to the candy club. She had her backpack on her. One of the arm straps was on her shoulder. At the entrance of the store, there were giant lollipop displays, a display of donuts, and cookie bars. A glowing sign above in pink with white letters, that read: -Candy Club-
Evelyn smiled and walked in. The store was filled with candy and sweet treats. The aroma was one of sugar and baked goods. The music was soft, yet cheerful. Behind the counter, was a young man with black hair. He wore a white button-up shirt with a single pink stripe on both sleeves, a pink bowtie that resembles a taffy wrapper with a white swirl on it, a white employee cap, light blue pants, and black shoes. His name was Kevin.
He saw her walk in and greeted her with a friendly smile.
Kevin: Hey Evelyn. Nice to see you again. (Friendly)
Evelyn: Hi Kevin. Yeah, it's been a while. How are you? (Friendly and warm)
Kevin: I'm doing well. As well as I can anyway with this job. You know how some kids are. (Slightly resigned, with a hint of humor)
Evelyn: Mhm. That's good to hear, and just think of it this way. You're bringing delight to everyone with these sweets. Even though you don't make them, people still have to buy it from you. (Encouraging)
Kevin: True. Though sometimes dealing with certain customers can be a pain. (conversational and mildly frustrated.)
Evelyn: I can sort of relate. I worked in retail last summer. There were so many times where I just wished to disappear or just tell the customers off. (Empathic and reflective)
Kevin: (chuckled) I can definitely imagine what you might've told those customers if you had the chance. (lighthearted and slightly teasing.)
Evelyn: (laughed softly) Yeah, I would've left them stunned. Anyway, I'm going to see what candy I'll get. (Confident, then casual)
Kevin: May I give you a suggestion? (Politely)
Evelyn: What's your suggestion? (Intrigued)
Kevin: I suggest you get Zoots. They're sweet at first, but then turn sour quickly with some tiny pops. (Informative, and enthusiastic)
Narrator: Evelyn was shocked, but grinned. She playfully slapped one of his hands. Which was on the counter.
Evelyn: Kevin (shocked)
Kevin: (Laughed) Ow (playfully) Or you can get another candy. (Open-ended)
Evelyn: (gigled) I'll think about it.
Narrator: Kevin smiled, as he shook his hand after getting it off the counter. Evelyn would look around and would pick out the candy. She got a chocolate bar, a pack of bubblegum, a bag of gummy bears, and a small bag of Zoots. She placed them all on the counter.
Kevin: So you did pick out Zoots after all. (Smugly)
Narrator: Evelyn playful rolled her eyes, before taking out the cash to pay for the candy.
Evelyn: I did. I just had to, after hearing the description of the candy. Here you go. (Slightly playful)
Narrator: Kevin took the money and placed it in the cash register.
Kevin: I know you'll enjoy them. Would you like a bag for the candies? Or are you going to place them in your backpack? (Considerate and curious)
Evelyn: I'll place them in my backpack. Thanks. (Appreciative)
Narrator: Evelyn would grab the candy she bought and place them all in her backpack. Once her backpack was zipped up, she put it on her back again.
Evelyn: I gotta go now. It was nice talking to you Kevin. Thanks for the candy. (Friendly and appreciative, with a casual undertone)
Kevin: It was nice talking to you too. You're welcome, hope to see you soon. (Friendly/warm, with a hint of anticipation)
Narrator: After they exchanged goodbyes. Evelyn walked out of the store with her candy. Now heading straight home.
What the police would find the next morning, would be another body.
Bob/Devil: (Evil laughter) echo sound effect

We all just stare at it for a while, waiting to see what it does. The first person to make a move is Wabbajack, inching his way closer towards it. As he gets close, he pokes it. As he does, I could swear it makes a squeaking sound.
He gasps as he picks it up. At that moment, I notice that the tail stays close to the ball of fluff, kinda flying around it. Maybe it has a set distance? He then proceeds to squeeze it a couple more times as it squeaks. “This is amazing!” He yells, squeezing it some more.
Eventually, it spins around to face him. It opens its mouth and out comes a tongue flying out like a frog and connects to Wabbajacks face. The rest of the body then comes flying towards his head as it bites his head, knocking over Wabbajacks hat.
I hear a muffled, “Aww. I was having fun. Oh well, got to admit though, it’s feisty.”
“It seems to be a Umoya Vulpes Uhane.” I hear to my right. I turn to see Mogsten looking into a book. “Fascinating! This seems to be the only other time that there has Ever been a recorded sighting of one. There is almost next to no information on its capabilities here.” He adds. He then slams the book shut as he exclaims, “I’ll pay whatever you want for him!”
I then hear more muffled noises say, “Wow! This guy must be really rare for Mogsten to offer anything. Still, first, Lily, how do you feel?”
I look back at the ball of leathery fur that has Wabbajack’s head in its mouth. I feel… something. I put my finger to my chin as I say, “I don’t quite know what I feel right now honestly.”
Wabbajack continues to try and speak as he says muffled again, “Well, familiars are rare, and the experience is different from person to person. Just don’t try to rush it and things should make sense I imagine. What do you want to name this fella?”
I don’t know honestly. But, first things first, “Could you get it off your head now? It’s hard to hear what your saying.” I say.
“Wait, Wabbajack has been talking?” Mogsten asks.
“Well, yeah. Haven’t you heard him?” I ask.
Mogsten looks at me funny and then back at the ball of fur. He then walks over to it and kicks Wabbajacks foot out from underneath him, knocking him down on his back. He then goes up to the fox ball and whispers into its ear. For some reason, as clear as day, I hear, “Can you hear me whispering Lily? Nod if you do.”
So, I nod.
“Fascinating!” He says. He then snaps his fingers as Gourdsten hands him a notepad and a pen. As soon as they are in his hands, he starts writing down some stuff. He stops to look at the fox ball and holds up the notepad to it. “Anything?” he asks.
“What?” I yell back.
He then shrugs and goes back to writing notes.
“Can I get back up now?” Wabbajack says, still muffled.
I rub my temple, wishing that the fox ball would just get off his head.
Just as I think that, it hops off and starts to walk towards me. Well, waddle may be a more accurate word. Or, whatever it is called for how gators walk. It then stops in front of me and tilts its head. Its tail then connects to the body and, as it does, the body stretches out, taking a noodle like shape. It then flies up and wraps its body around my neck! It yawns, and I think I hear it snore. Funny, like it is now, it’s kinda like a scarf. Although the breathing I feel from it adds to the soothing effect as well.
“Spectacular!” I hear Mogsten exclaim. I look towards him to see him fervently taking notes. I also happen to see Wabbajack had gotten back up, put his hat back on, and was walking over here as well.
“I’m amazed. It looks like this was a success.” Wabbajack says.
“Of course! Who do you think I am? Some amateur?” Mogsten says, not taking his eyes off my living scarf.
Regardless, the leather belly provides a good grip while the fur is Extremely soft. I could see myself falling asleep as well if I wasn’t busy trying to process everything right now.
“Welp, it all worked out. You got a familiar and Mogsten is one of the few who successfully summoned it.” Wabbajack points out.
Mogsten shoots up as he realizes it too as he says, “Yes. YES! I DID! People will come from everywhere to see my wares and request my talent!” He then starts dancing along with Gourdsten.
“Although, you’ll have to up security if people keep requesting familiars.” Wabbajack mentions.
The dance slowly comes to a stop as that fact sinks in and Mogsten says, “Blast.” He then snaps his fingers as he says, “I can provide a questionnaire and a test, that people will have to pay for as well! Oh hohohohoho!” He laughs as he starts dancing again.
Wabbajack just shrugs and turns back to me. He asks, “Well, introduced you to about most of the important places that are around here, all that is left would be the furniture then. Unless there is anything else you can think of?”
As I start petting my living scarf, I try to think really hard if there is anything else I need to know. We got equipment, some magic books for me to study, my mark of sentience, a familiar, had a fight or two with Wabbajack, and met his family. I shrug and say, “No, I actually think that was it.”
He wipes his forehead as he says, “Thank goodness. I can’t tell you how crazy today has been.”
I can’t help but let out a chuckle as I say, “You think it’s been crazy for you? It’s been one new concept after another for me.”
He looks at me, chuckles, and says, “Fair enough. I almost forgot that All this must be new to you.” I had just gotten changed back when he then walks to the flap leading to the front as he says, “Well then, shall we get some furnishing?”
I nod and quickly chase after him. As we exit the store, I decide to ask Wabbajack some more questions as we peruse the bazaar for any good furniture being sold. I ask him an important question, at least to me anyways, “Why do you do this job? With your talents and skills, you could do whatever. And don’t try to sell me on that Monster of Monsters thing. Don’t you get tired of it?”
He stops, sighs, and tilts his hat down as he explains, “Well, if you really intend on traveling with me, then I guess you’ll have to know sooner or later. Let me ask You a question first however. Do you think nothing good could come from death?”
I look down as I answer, “Well, I mean, there is always another way, right?”
He responds with, “True, but I have learned why being a hero is as disastrous as the destruction they prevent. If I had to guess, Silkie probably told you about That, right?”
I quickly try to look away but realize, I immediately sold myself out.
“I thought so.” He says. He then follows up with, “There was a reason for that. There was a warlike nation growing in power. The reason for that is that none of the other nations were taking it seriously, so they pillaged and plundered as much as they like. Now, what is the best way to convince a nation’s leader that an “insignificant” threat is an actual one without them laughing at you?”
I look up and try to consider.
Before I can however, he continues, “I played the part of the nation about to destroy everything, and…assassinated… that infant. When the king and queen discovered their child killed by, what reports believed was one of those “barbarians”, they then took the threat Very seriously. They beefed up security and their guard. When the nation was invaded, instead of being wiped out, they defended themselves and crushed the opposition. I admit, it haunts me most nights. The crying, the sadness, then the stifling quiet. I hated it. But, they didn’t have the time for me to convince them conventionally. That is why I do these things, so others don’t have to. If they were defeated, then the warlike nation would have just steamrolled over everyone else. Now, tell me, what happens when a culture developed entirely around killing others runs out of things to kill?”
I ask him this time, “Is this a rhetorical question or do you want me to answer it this time?”
He shrugs and says, “Only if you want to try.”
I sigh and start thinking about it. “If a culture based on war ran out of people to fight… then they would try to look to improving their lives, right?”
He pats my head as he says, “You’re a genuinely good person. If that was how it worked, I would hopefully be out of a job. No, unfortunately. Nine point nine times out of ten, they just start killing each other. Point zero five percent scenario that they manage to start invading other dimensions. And the last of it, would hopefully improve their lot.”
“That’s so sad.” I mention.
“Welp, that is why I am around, I imagine. I wish I could save everyone but then, it becomes a cycle of dependency. If they can’t manage to take care of themselves, then when the rock holding it all up disappears, then things just go back to being as bad as they were before. Sometimes it winds up being worse than before. So, while I am impressed of true-blue heroes, I don’t envy them. That’s why I take orders from my boss. He promised me that, if I listen to him, he could help me protect entire dimensions. And the best options are sometimes the darkest ones. And who better to wander the darkness than someone who just about everyone hates already?” he asks while pointing to himself.
While he says that cheerfully, I swear I could sense a sadness to it as well. As I think that, my familiar floats over to Wabbajack and starts licking his face.
“He-e-ey. Easy there. Didn’t think I was that tasty.” He says as he tries to wave it off.
“Wolfie! Stop it!” I say without thinking.
It looks back, tilts its head, and floats back to being around my neck.
“Wolfie?” Wabbajack asks.
“Yeah… I guess. I guess that is what I decided to name it.” I say as I pet its fur.
I hear him chuckle. I respond with, “What?”
“Nothing.” He answers. He then waves forward as he asks, “Well then, shall we continue?”
I smile and walk forward. I then see him catch up immediately. When he does, Wolfie then starts wagging her tail, I think.
“What’s he so excited about?” Wabbajack asks.
“She. And I’m not sure.” I respond. I have a suspicion but, there are still too many variables to answer before I can start providing answers.
Wabbajack puts both his hands up defensively as he says, “My bad.
Sorry.”
“It’s fine.” I tell him.
We finally reached the bazaar and start looking around. As I am looking around, Wabbajack smacks my back and says, “That guy looks promising.”
I look over in the direction that he points, and I see a turtle person wearing some very poofy-looking robes, puffing smoke from a long oboe-looking pipe. Behind him, is some sort of tube-like machine. Wabbajack walks over to him, so I follow shortly after him.
As soon as he goes up to him, Wabbajack asks, “Excuse me good sir, what would you be selling here?”
There is a pause, he then lets out some smoke, and finally says, “Nothing.”
“Nothing?” I ask.
Another pause and he responds with, “Yep.” He then let’s out some more smoke.
“But then, what is this stall here then?” I ask.
As there is Another pause, I realize that this must be their shtick. He then answers with, “Fabrication.”
“Fabrication? You actually got a permit for that?” Wabbajack asks.
One pause later, he answers, “Yep.”
I look to Wabbajack and ask, “What is Fabrication and, why is it such a big deal?”
“Fabrication is a SUPER advanced form of blacksmithy. As long as you have the materials, you can determine what gets crafted, how it gets crafted, and what it looks like. The only catch is that it depends on the materials. Don’t expect to get golden bricks from grass. That requires rewriting at the genetic level, which you would have to be a master alchemist for that. Even I don’t have the means for fabrication. Although, the alchemy stuff can be pretty fun once you get past all that boring stuff. Not to mention profitable.” Wabbajack explains.
“Wait. You can’t do Fabrication?!” I ask in astonishment.
“Well, I could if I had the materials and patience for it. The time it takes to be permitted to fabricate Anything takes an unrealistic amount of time. I made it about halfway through before even I lost my patience.” Wabbajack answers.
“Why did you stop halfway?” I ask.
“Staying in a classroom for half a millennium alone, being told the yes and no’s of fabrication tends to make a lot of people go mad.” He continues to explain.
Before I can express my disbelief, we hear a very slow laugh, followed by, “Wimp.” I look over to the turtle man in time for him to blow some more smoke.
“You got me their old timer.” I hear Wabbajack say.
“Wait, why does it take so long?” I ask.
“Fabrication is a very meticulous process. Possibly the most meticulous. Not to mention, as I am sure you can imagine, it would be Very profitable for whomever can pull it off. It’s one of the most closely watched professions in all of Spiritopia. Not to mention, if someone of dubious morality decided to fabricate items, chances are that a LOT of bad things would come of it. You have to really have to be discerning when you break into the business. But, if you manage to pull it off, you are held in VERY high regards. Almost untouchable.” Wabbajack explains.
I then hear another, “Yep.” And another puff of smoke.
I then look at the turtle man and ask, “Does that mean you could make us some furniture?”
There is a pause as he looks me up and down. After a while, he says, “Nope.”
I am shocked. I ask, “Why not?”
Pause, puff, and says, “Inexperienced.”
I tilt my head down as I say dejectedly, “Oh, I see.” Wolfie also lets out a sad “hmmm”
Wabbajack then asks himself, “What about me?”
He then looks him up and down as well. This time, he scratches his chin. After a while longer, he says, “Yep. But I’ll charge you more than usual.”
Before I can exclaim my disapproval, Wabbajack says, “Deal!”
As I look to him aggravated, I then hear the turtle man say, “What would you like?”
Wabbajack looks to me as he asks, “What would you like? I imagine some drawers with a vanity mirror, a better bed, some sort of entertainment, maybe even a closet?”
I exclaim, “Wait just one minute! Why would you willingly pay more than normal?”
“Like I said, it’s a profession held in high regard.” Wabbajack explains.
“That.” As the turtle man starts to say something as well. “That and your reputation as Mr. Happy. But, I do like to make my own judgements as well.” He continues as he then lets out another puff.
“There you go.” Wabbajack says, pointing towards the turtle man.
I sigh and say, “Still strikes me as unfair.”
The turtle man laughs again as he says, “Inexperienced.”
Wolfie lets out a growl.
“Easy now, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Let’s not get upset over the finer details.” Wabbajack responds with.
I let out another sigh as I say, “Alright, fine. All the things you mentioned sound good.” I then puff my face.
Wabbajack then lets out a laugh as he says, “Alright. Don’t worry, if you don’t like something about it, we could always come back and change it now that we know someone who can fabricate stuff.”
He then looks at the turtle man as he asks, “Before we talk business, may we exchange names? My name is Wabbajack.” He then puts his hat to his chest and offers a small bow.
Pause, puff, and he says, “Polite. My name is… hold on. Been a while.” He then scratches his chin. He then goes, “Oh! That’s right. Thomas is my name.”
“That’s a good name.” Wabbajack says.
“Flattery won’t lower the price lad.” Thomas says.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Wabbajack responds.
I then put my finger to my chin as I think and start seriously thinking about what I want my room to look like. I honestly want to start pumping ideas but, as I think about it, I don’t really know what I want everything to look like, let alone what it would look like together. Especially since it has become very apparent that my level of fashion sense is not quite up to snuff as I once thought it was.
As I am thinking all this, I hear a meat-ripping noise that snaps me back into reality. I look towards the sound and I see that Wabbajack had ripped his arm off at the shoulder and is now holding it towards Thomas. I naturally let out a scream.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!” I yell.
They both look at me and Wabbajack asks, as nonchalantly as ever, “What’s up?”
““What’s up?” You RIPPED your ARM OFF!” I point out.
He looks at the arm he’s holding out and points at it with the arm that he Should be missing as he asks, “This arm?”
I look back and forth and the realization must have been obvious as he then asks, “You forgot about me being able to regenerate, didn’t you?”
I blush as I say, “Yeah…”. I snap out of my embarrassment as I think to ask, “But, doesn’t that still hurt?”
He just shrugs as he asks, “Yeah, why wouldn’t it?”
“Why did you rip your arm off then?” I ask in response.
“Because, we will just simply come back when you understand what would work best for you want for your own room and style. But, for now, this would be the perfect opportunity to give you a device to access the same font of information I have access to And a means of travel if we ever get separated somehow.” He explains as Thomas takes his torn arm and examines it.
Before I can say anything else, we hear, “Five currency…”
Five currency? Just five or five million? It couldn’t be so cheap after he said he would charge more than normal, right?
Just as I think that, Wabbajack says, “Awesome, here you go.” As he hands him five of those matte dice.
“What happened to being more expensive?” I blurt out.
Thomas just shakes his head as he just says, “Inexperienced…” Again.
Wolfie lets out another small growl.
“Now, now. Calm down. Fabrication isn’t expensive by any means since the customer has to provide the materials themselves. So, Fabricators can’t honestly charge a lot since they aren’t doing a lot.” Wabbajack explains while Thomas throws the arm into his machine and starts hitting buttons.
“That makes sense” I think to myself.
Next thing I know, Thomas throws me this small calculator like device. I look down at it and, while it does have the shape of a calculator, the symbols on the buttons are fluctuating and where the screen is supposed to be is this oval like projector lens and on the front-facing side is this little bulb, like what you would see on a remote control.
The confusion on my face must have been apparent as Wabbajack says, “Don’t worry, just fiddle with it and sooner or later you’ll figure out how it works.” He then pats my shoulder.
He looks back over his shoulder and says “Thanks Thomas, we will definitely be coming back. Phenomenal work.” He then gives a thumbs up.
Thomas lets out a puff after giving us a smug smile.
Wolfie takes his scarf form and wraps around my neck as Wabbajack pulls me along by the arm, he asks, “So what next?”
I put the calculator to my head as I honestly try to process everything that’s happened. Not to mention all the studying and practice I have to do just to make everything feel normal. All I can think to say is, “Maybe… it would be best if we go back home?”
“Yeah, that sounds good honestly. It’s getting late and your body needs rest to process everything that’s happened. It must be… well, actually shoot. It IS a whole other world from what you are used to. Best to take it slow. Even though today hasn’t exactly gone smoothly. Yilimet should also be done with all his shopping as well.” He says, using air quotes around shopping.
I guess the air quotes are because Yilimet has been cooking for a household of people with no sense of taste for who knows how long now. As I let out an audible gulp loud enough to make Wabbajack laugh.
With how crazy today has been, I expected the walk back to that spot with the two guards to be even more eventful but, nothing. Everyone pretty much just kept their distance for the most part. I think most were also just heading home.
As we get there, I see Yilimet holding an unusual number of bags as he says, “Hey you two, you wouldn’t believe the news I heard! Someone managed to summon a familiar after all this time and it didn’t go on a murderous rampage. Crazy, right?”
“Crazy, sure. Let’s get home. I’m sure things are going to be a bit more interesting than usual from here on.” Wabbajack says as he cuts open a portal home.
Interesting? Beyond a shadow of a doubt. I can’t help but feel like that, even by his standards, there will be quite some exciting and fascinating adventures ahead of both of us. Just as we all walk through the portal home together, Yilimet asks, “Hey, where did that fox come from?”

I wanted to go to a later event after I read online how this event went, but my husband insisted on going to this event, so this is for people who want to learn about the side events!
We went as attendees. We arrived late on Friday and therefore checked in very easily on Saturday morning at 9am, and received our 6 prize tickets (each). The Lorcana room was in the basement of building B, and there was an anime convention going on at the same time. The signage for Lorcana was a GIANT arrow with a tiny Lorcana logo, which I got a chuckle out of. The signs also said "MomoCon badge required for entry" but that was the only way to get downstairs. Not Ravensburger's fault, but confusing.
We easily signed up for the 10:30am sealed deck challenge. It started at around 10:45, and we were given entirely too long to build our decks from 6 packs. My first round ended in a draw, but draws weren't allowed in Melee.gg. A few judges came over and decided to split the tickets (the winner would get 2, so this way we each got 1) and then my opponent and I decided that I should get the win in Melee because I was only one turn away from winning (and this was a SIDE event, not a championship, so it wasn't that big of a deal). By the way, the judges placed the 2 tickets (for the winner) at each table before the round started. (On Saturday they didn't place any tickets on the tables other than participation.)
Then. Oh my goodness. It was at least 45 minutes before round 2 started. Melee was down (as the other posts have mentioned) so we were all just sitting, waiting. Waiting. And waiting. FINALLY round 2 launched. Then it was about 20 minutes between round 2 and 3. The next event I could sign up for was the 3:30 swiss draft, where we were given 4 packs. This time the deck building was included in the drafting time; the pod next to me still had an entire pack to draft when time was called! People kept handing me brooms, which was fine with me because I grabbed a Sorcerer Mickey in my first pack. :P We did manage to earn enough tickets to get 2 Rapunzel promos on Saturday, so that was exciting! I did most of the heavy lifting; somehow I am better than my husband at this game.
Other posters have posted about Sunday side events, so I don't need to summarize that. Other than I was still only able to do 2 events. My husband dropped after round 2 of our first event, so he was able to grab the last event of the day. They were NOT prepared for the 2,000 players who would be doing side events.
We had really thought we'd be able to do 5 or 6 events per day, based on our experience with Pokemon at GenCon and Origins. It's been 2 years since we were at GenCon but Pokemon has it DOWN. The event costs the same as retail (for whatever you're playing). Doing a draft with 4 decks? $16. Once you've got 8 people signed up? The event pops off and you play. At least 1 prize ticket for playing; 1 ticket per pack at the prize counter! Best of 3 games, winner gets additional tickets, DONE. Sign up for the next event! Rinse and repeat! The prices for the event weren't great. I'm not sure I'd use the word "outrageous" but I did feel like we were getting ripped off.
It seems like Ravensburger had never attended a TCG event before. I understand that it was their first time hosting an event, but the side events should not have been hosted through Melee.gg, and they should have popped off as they filled up.
I did file a complaint with the prize counter on Saturday, because I did the math and you would need to win all three rounds in ELEVEN events to earn 100 tickets (6 for attending, 2 for participating and each round, and 1 for winning all 3 rounds). I understand they want to make the prizes tough to get, but the packs should have been 1 ticket each. Even with doubling the tickets on Sunday, you'd still need to win all 3 rounds in FIVE events, and that was physically impossible, since each event took 4 hours.
I can't believe the competitors didn't get any tickets! It almost encourages you to not participate! Speaking of the competition, I played against many people on Sunday who played through rounds 5 and 6 and didn't earn anything other than the participation promo. They were upset that they should have dropped and switched to side events. But I don't compete, so I don't know the logic in that. Maybe they were winning. Who knows. Even a booster pack would be nice.
It is also BIZARRE to us that Ravensburger didn't have their own booth with their own merch. One of my friends really wanted a Lorcana hat but he wasn't about to "waste" tickets on that when he knew he could get $$$ promos.
As with most events, people were buying and selling the prize tickets. I traded two of mine away late on Sunday, but not for money! I also heard a rumor that someone was able to simply purchase 30 attendee badges and get the playmat. Which is frustrating, to say the least.
Finally, I had to call a judge for an interesting interaction. In the actual interaction, I hadn't moved Jetsam to Thebes, but pretend I did for this scenario. I have Flotsam (Ursula's Baby) at Thebes. My opponent has Hercules at the Hidden Cove. Both Hercules and the Hidden Cove have 3 damage. Flotsam challenges the Hidden Cove and banishes it. Hercules no longer has the +1 defense from the Hidden Cove and gets banished. Does Thebes trigger? Flotsam banished Hercules while a challenge was resolving. The judge called over the other judges in the area, and they decided that because Hercules was banished "during" a challenge and not "in" a challenge that Thebes didn't trigger. Which we accepted, because that makes sense. Flotsam wasn't challenging Hercules, therefore Hercules wasn't "in" a challenge. Therefore, if Flotsam were at the Hidden Cove and the same thing happened, he wouldn't return to my hand, since he wasn't banished "in" a challenge! I'm sure that interaction has already happened and someone's already posted about it, but I'm proud of myself for calling for a judge and then hearing them tell other judges about it for the rest of the round.
We had a fun time PLAYING, and it was nice to get promos out of it. I wouldn't drive 15 hours (each way) just for the event, though, especially if it runs the same way. We'll wait to see how the next few events go to see if they get their act in order.
