Hi, I’ve been playing piano for about 3 months, having been a guitarist, one of the main things I find difficult about the piano is different rhythms in left and right hand, particularly when the left hand is more difficult, so far I know Fur Elise, Rondo Alla Turca and moonlight sonata 1st movement, but I’d love to try pieces with more challenging left hand but I struggle with where to start as I don’t want to pick something too difficult and end up wasting my time😅, sorry for rambling, I appreciate any insight🙏.

Struggling with pedaling but I usually learn a piece with minimal pedal till im comfortable enough to be able to think when to use the pedal. (If that makes sense) I understand its hard to play a piece like this emotionally and expressively but its my favourite and im playing it for myself and as long as it sounds "OK" to me, im happy. Hopefully I don't struggle at later parts of this piece. |

Located earlier this year, the original session DATs were passed along to long-time producer Kevin Mucha to re-master the ten previously released tracks and several outtakes and also do away with several ill-advised (with the benefit of hindsight) gimmicky fades which, in the minds of the songwriters, marred the original release. Now crisper, with a bit more sonic meat on its bones, the album will rise again.)

Let's say I like playing rhythm based games (such as guitar hero, where latency has made it unplayable when attempting with wireless solutions like an nvidia shield).
I'd need HDMI (that ideally supports 4k60, but 4k30 (1080p 60) worst case scenario, and transmits audio too)and 2x usb for peripherals.
Capability for HDR and Dolby Vision would be ideal.
Would a KVM make this possible, and be sufficient?
Any recommendations?

A software update nuked my Sonos system so I can't listen to music, so I'll write about music instead... Here are a handful of live performances I think are better than the studio versions. I'm only including things that are readily accessible, either on official releases or online. Just my opinion, of course, and I'd love to hear yours. So...
"Cactus Tree" on "Miles of Aisles." I think she was a much better singer in 1974 than she was in 1968. "Circle Game" is perfect on this record, too. It really wants to be a singalong.
"Edith and the Kingpin" on "Shadows and Light." I love the groove of the live performance, and I feel like it presents the lyric better.
"For Free" on the "Refuge of the Roads" DVD. She transforms this song with a couple of new lines added to the end of each verse. It's stunning. And I think she was a much better singer in 1983 than she was in 1970. The performances of "God Must Be a Boogieman" and "Woodstock" are also my favorite versions.
"Comes Love" from the "Painting With Words and Music" DVD. Just wow. So seductive and joyful.
The rest of these are not on official Joni releases, but all can be found pretty easily.
"The Three Great Stimulants" live at the Duke of York Theatre in 1985. An acoustic version with Joni on guitar and (I think) Larry Klein on piano. It's on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV7smboHWlY One of my top-10 all-time Joni songs, stripped of its ’80s arrangement and shining like a diamond. I just wish the sound quality was better, and hope something like this shows up on "Archives Vol. 5" someday.

This spare performance reveals the bones of the studio arrangement—it's all in Joni's guitar (which is unfortunately just a little out of tune, but everything else is so perfect I don't care).
"Love's Cries" and "Facelift" live on KSCA 101.9 Music Hall in 1995. These are from a solo acoustic show at the Gene Autry Museum that was broadcast on a local radio station, three years before their studio versions were released. The whole thing is on archive.org: https://archive.org/details/joni-mitchell-1995-gene-autry-museum-la-ksca and also on a reasonably common bootleg CD. "Love's Cries" is an early version of "The Crazy Cries of Love," and I think both the lyric and the melody work better before her very minor rewrite. "Facelift" is the same as the studo version, but the song really benefits from the intimacy of the solo acoustic setting. I recorded it off the radio when it aired, and there was a blast of static right in the middle of a guitar break in "Facelift," so I was very glad to find other recordings.

I have my senior piano recital in 3 week. I’ll be playing Moonlight Sonata, Solace(Scott Joplin), Merry go round of life(Joe Hisaishi) and 6 others. I AM NOWHERE CLOSE TO BEING WHERE I NEED TO BE.
My comprehension of the actual music is next to none so I’ve been relying on muscle memory for every song I’ve ever played in my life. With the sheer number of pieces I have to play this is becoming quite difficult.
I don’t have enough time to start reviewing the basics to understanding of the theory behind it. I don’t even know what key they are in. So essentially I’m forced to keep playing it with muscle memory. I feel like there is nothing I can do in time to improve.

i am somewhat new to the piano but i would really love to learn more, and i see people saying you have to "get good" and stuff like have 5 years experience before you can play a hard peice like 3rd movement of moonlight sonata for example could i simply memorize the keystrokes in a few months of practicing some each day? or maybe even in a single month, i feel like i could learn first and second movements in a week each if i really tried, so does this seem realistic? and would it be any faster if i knew how to read sheet music? pretty much the whole question thanks guys

I've frequently heard the argument that only a select few CTs like Limitless and Anti-gravity can have Cursed Technique Reversals (which was never stated) because some CTs just aren't reversible. To that, I feel like some people need to use some imagination. Hence why I've made a list of some CTR ideas I came up with. I didn't include cursed spirits and my excuse is that they will die upon even attempting to make RCE (it's actually cus im lazy and is trying to cut corners) the list might also be lacking in Culling Games characters cus I'm not too familiar with the stuff in culling games (i'm an all over the place reader) with that, lets begin
Boogie Woogie Instead of clapping and swapping, the user swaps first, then claps. If they dont clap, it will keep draining RCE until they do. if the user runs out of RCE, the requirement will automatically force them to convert CE into RCE, and if they run out of CE as well, it'll mess up their inner circuitry severely, permanently reducing their jujutsu capabilities to that of a regular civilian. thus this ability should be used carefully and at the right times or in an emergency. When utilized effectively, it can be used to catch opponents off-guard when they are expecting to hear a clap first, or to get out of situations where you don't have that 1 second to spare for clapping and needs to react instantly.
Ratio I had 2 ideas and can't decide which one's better so I will list both, there is an offense oriented one and a defense oriented one Offense: the 3:7 point becomes a strong point where hitting that spot does reduced damage to the target. However, the six other points all become weak points that you can score critical strikes off of. A quick combo that strikes multiple of those points in quick succession would deal extreme amounts of damage that will allow you to instantly decimate almost any target. Defense: the user applies ratio to themselves, giving them a weak point in return for greatly strengthening the rest of their body. only the user can see their own ratio (though high IQ opponents can make approximations) The user can also freely switch the weak point between the 3 margin or the 7 margin, which keeps opponents guessing as well as prevent the user from getting oneshotted in certain cases.
Uraume's CT Steam manipulation. The user can manipulate extremely high temperature steam that can instantly set things on fire on contact. Also due to the extreme temperatures, the steam would normally be highly dispersed, but the user can manipulate it to pack tightly together so that it appears like regular steam in order to conceal its destructive potential, as well as vaporize or explode things on contact.
10 Shadows 10 Reflections. The user can use the shadow of their shikigami to summon their "reflection". These reflections look similar to the original shikigami but have reversed abilities. However they are only usable when the regular shikigami is also out and their movements closely mirror the original, thus limiting what the user may be able to do with them. Below are the abilities of some of the reflections Nue - Nullifies electricity-like phenomena on contact Max Elephant - Its trunk can suck up small objects and non-solids over a fairly wide area Toad - forms a linked "portal" system between the reflection and the original by swallowing things and spitting them back out Rabbit Escape - a single rabbit that can create decoys of the user Great Serpent - a snake that can shrink itself to the size of this period . When shrunk, the snake's presence also becomes less noticeable, allowing it to stay hidden. Similar to how you can capture people by putting them inside the snake, you can send the snake to slither inside your opponent and cause internal damage, especially by returning to their original size. Basically the ant-man strategy. Round Deer - Constantly replenishes the user's CE instead of performing RCT. Piercing Ox - The longer it stays still, the stronger its next attack becomes. The downside is that due to the movements of the shadow and reflections closely mirroring each other and that they both need to be out at the same time, it's hard to properly utilize both the regular piercing ox and the reflection at the same time. Mahoraga - instead of adaptations giving mahoraga an advantage, they give the opponent a permanent disadvantage. Also when one mahoraga receives a stimulus, the other mahoraga will also learn about the same stimulus, allowing them to both make adaptations for something that only one of them experienced. Having both mahoragas pumping out their adaptations side by side would be able to achieve insane effects.
Blood Manipulation Marrow manipulation. The user is able to control their own marrow as well as the qualities and quantity of the blood they produce. The user is also able to "de-age" blood to convert them into even more marrow outside their body to produce even more blood. Marrow created this way will passively produce insane amounts of blood at virtually no cost until either destroyed or they rot away.
Projection Sorcery Instead of mapping out their next 24 frames of movement, the user will instead have to retrace their previous 24 frames of movement. Doing so will also cause time to rewind. Failing would cause you to get frozen as usual as well as stop the rewind at its current point. The only people who know time was rewinded or the original events of the rewinded time is the user and the target (if they tagged someone for the offensive version) Just like the original, this move is spammable (though less so than the original) however it is way trickier to pull off. When using the tag/offensive version, the user can alternate between the lapse and the reverse to keep opponents guessing and get them to mess up.
Cursed Spirit Manipulation The user is able to free cursed spirits from the effects of CSM to give them the opportunity to keep growing. The user is also able to take cursed spirits out of themselves and plant it into others instead. This ability works on sorcerers and non-sorcerers alike. When planted into someone else, the cursed spirit will become loyal to their new host, however they are still loyal to the CSM user as well, and their loyalty to the CSM user takes complete priority over that of their host.
Kashimo's CT The user becomes "chargeable" They gain the ability to absorb electricity and convert it into vitality.
Tengen's Immortality Instead of Tengen absorbing a Star Plasma Vessel, the SPV will absorb Tengen and become the new dominant personality, as well as inheriting Tengen's memories, powers, and binding vows.
Yuta's Mimicry If the user can be thought of as a DVD/CD which you can burn/engrave CTs into, the CTR will allow the user to upload those CTs onto their target. The user needs to be careful with this ability as allies may not have the necessary physiology to withstand this process.
Puppet Manipulation Allows the user to use their curse energy to control their own biological body like a puppet. This is like as if the user could use telekinesis on themselves. The user's use of reinforcing their body with CE also becomes way more efficient and effective.
Hakari's CT Instead of manifesting objects from a Rom-Com manga, the user manifests objects from one that is dark and sad, like nooses, razors, or guns for example. When using domain expansion, everytime the user fails to get jackpot, it'll damage the opponent's mental health(part of the sure-hit), as the opponent is having to deal with the dark side of a gambling addiction. If the opponent fails to get jackpot within a certain number of attempts, they will commit suicide (this is a rule/sure-hit attack, they WILL do it) This is avoidable with the use of anti-domain techniques but you will need to do it before you become too depressed from the previous effect. If it hits jackpot, the domain will break right then and there, but the user can retry later when the cooldown ends. Just because you win once, doesn't mean your gambling addiction goes away.
Ui Ui's CT Instead of the user having to personally be there to teleport something away or to teleport himself somewhere, the user will teleport valid targets to himself. The range of this ability covers nearly half of Earth. I haven't decided yet on what makes something a valid target.
Auspicious Beasts Summon Acting as a spirit medium like usual, instead of the user channeling the auspicious beasts to his location, he instead will enter the spirit realm themselves. The user will be able to move around as though he was astral-projecting, and no one would be able to detect their location within the spirit realm. Also if the user is to use lapse while in this state, the beasts will be launched from the location of his spirit body rather than his physical body. From the perspective of his opponent, it would look like the attacks are coming out of nowhere.
Granny Ogami's Seance Technique Instead of channeling the body/soul information of someone who is dead, the user channels the body/soul information of someone who is still alive. This ability is much more reusable than the lapse variant.
Jiro Asakawa's CT It's the guy that takes less damage if you hit him hard, takes more damage if you hit him lightly. The reverse lets you apply this rule to others instead, allowing you to deal massive damage to others with little effort.
Gakuganji's Guitar CT Allows the user to absorb attacks in a Guitar Hero kinda way. The 'streak' also riles up the user and empowers their lapse attacks.

Defense: the user applies ratio to themselves, giving them a weak point in return for greatly strengthening the rest of their body. only the user can see their own ratio (though high IQ opponents can make approximations) The user can also freely switch the weak point between the 3 margin or the 7 margin, which keeps opponents guessing as well as prevent the user from getting oneshotted in certain cases.
Uraume's CT Steam manipulation. The user can manipulate extremely high temperature steam that can instantly set things on fire on contact. Also due to the extreme temperatures, the steam would normally be highly dispersed, but the user can manipulate it to pack tightly together so that it appears like regular steam in order to conceal its destructive potential, as well as vaporize or explode things on contact.
10 Shadows 10 Reflections. The user can use the shadow of their shikigami to summon their "reflection". These reflections look similar to the original shikigami but have reversed abilities. However they are only usable when the regular shikigami is also out and their movements closely mirror the original, thus limiting what the user may be able to do with them. Below are the abilities of some of the reflections Nue - Nullifies electricity-like phenomena on contact Max Elephant - Its trunk can suck up small objects and non-solids over a fairly wide area Toad - forms a linked "portal" system between the reflection and the original by swallowing things and spitting them back out Rabbit Escape - a single rabbit that can create decoys of the user Great Serpent - a snake that can shrink itself to the size of this period . When shrunk, the snake's presence also becomes less noticeable, allowing it to stay hidden. Similar to how you can capture people by putting them inside the snake, you can send the snake to slither inside your opponent and cause internal damage, especially by returning to their original size. Basically the ant-man strategy. Round Deer - Constantly replenishes the user's CE instead of performing RCT. Piercing Ox - The longer it stays still, the stronger its next attack becomes. The downside is that due to the movements of the shadow and reflections closely mirroring each other and that they both need to be out at the same time, it's hard to properly utilize both the regular piercing ox and the reflection at the same time. Mahoraga - instead of adaptations giving mahoraga an advantage, they give the opponent a permanent disadvantage. Also when one mahoraga receives a stimulus, the other mahoraga will also learn about the same stimulus, allowing them to both make adaptations for something that only one of them experienced. Having both mahoragas pumping out their adaptations side by side would be able to achieve insane effects.
Blood Manipulation Marrow manipulation. The user is able to control their own marrow as well as the qualities and quantity of the blood they produce. The user is also able to "de-age" blood to convert them into even more marrow outside their body to produce even more blood. Marrow created this way will passively produce insane amounts of blood at virtually no cost until either destroyed or they rot away.
Projection Sorcery Instead of mapping out their next 24 frames of movement, the user will instead have to retrace their previous 24 frames of movement. Doing so will also cause time to rewind. Failing would cause you to get frozen as usual as well as stop the rewind at its current point. The only people who know time was rewinded or the original events of the rewinded time is the user and the target (if they tagged someone for the offensive version) Just like the original, this move is spammable (though less so than the original) however it is way trickier to pull off. When using the tag/offensive version, the user can alternate between the lapse and the reverse to keep opponents guessing and get them to mess up.
Cursed Spirit Manipulation The user is able to free cursed spirits from the effects of CSM to give them the opportunity to keep growing. The user is also able to take cursed spirits out of themselves and plant it into others instead. This ability works on sorcerers and non-sorcerers alike. When planted into someone else, the cursed spirit will become loyal to their new host, however they are still loyal to the CSM user as well, and their loyalty to the CSM user takes complete priority over that of their host.
Kashimo's CT The user becomes "chargeable" They gain the ability to absorb electricity and convert it into vitality.
Tengen's Immortality Instead of Tengen absorbing a Star Plasma Vessel, the SPV will absorb Tengen and become the new dominant personality, as well as inheriting Tengen's memories, powers, and binding vows.
Yuta's Mimicry If the user can be thought of as a DVD/CD which you can burn/engrave CTs into, the CTR will allow the user to upload those CTs onto their target. The user needs to be careful with this ability as allies may not have the necessary physiology to withstand this process.
Puppet Manipulation Allows the user to use their curse energy to control their own biological body like a puppet. This is like as if the user could use telekinesis on themselves. The user's use of reinforcing their body with CE also becomes way more efficient and effective.
Hakari's CT Instead of manifesting objects from a Rom-Com manga, the user manifests objects from one that is dark and sad, like nooses, razors, or guns for example. When using domain expansion, everytime the user fails to get jackpot, it'll damage the opponent's mental health(part of the sure-hit), as the opponent is having to deal with the dark side of a gambling addiction. If the opponent fails to get jackpot within a certain number of attempts, they will commit suicide (this is a rule/sure-hit attack, they WILL do it) This is avoidable with the use of anti-domain techniques but you will need to do it before you become too depressed from the previous effect. If it hits jackpot, the domain will break right then and there, but the user can retry later when the cooldown ends. Just because you win once, doesn't mean your gambling addiction goes away.
Ui Ui's CT Instead of the user having to personally be there to teleport something away or to teleport himself somewhere, the user will teleport valid targets to himself. The range of this ability covers nearly half of Earth. I haven't decided yet on what makes something a valid target.
Auspicious Beasts Summon Acting as a spirit medium like usual, instead of the user channeling the auspicious beasts to his location, he instead will enter the spirit realm themselves. The user will be able to move around as though he was astral-projecting, and no one would be able to detect their location within the spirit realm. Also if the user is to use lapse while in this state, the beasts will be launched from the location of his spirit body rather than his physical body. From the perspective of his opponent, it would look like the attacks are coming out of nowhere.
Granny Ogami's Seance Technique Instead of channeling the body/soul information of someone who is dead, the user channels the body/soul information of someone who is still alive. This ability is much more reusable than the lapse variant.
Jiro Asakawa's CT It's the guy that takes less damage if you hit him hard, takes more damage if you hit him lightly. The reverse lets you apply this rule to others instead, allowing you to deal massive damage to others with little effort.
Gakuganji's Guitar CT Allows the user to absorb attacks in a Guitar Hero kinda way. The 'streak' also riles up the user and empowers their lapse attacks.
Construction Came up with two and I cant decide.
- Allows the creation of anti-matter
- Allows the user to convert physical matter into CE. The user is also able to automatically feed this CE straight into their lapse, essentially performing a reconstruction that is less taxing than using the lapse by itself.

I am listening to moonlight sonata. It's always there to cure my aching heart, I am in so much pain. I don't know what to do with myself. I want to reach out, talk to others, but I am unable to do it.
I fear that I am a burden.
I feel guilty about having to push my pain onto someone else. I cry vehemently, in a world so bleak, so cruel.
There is literally nothing I can do to help myself at the moment. Distractions don't work. I am so sad. So so so so so so so so sad.
Beethoven's piano is not sad enough. It doesn't hit the right spot at the moment. I can barely feel it, the song feels so far away. I need something sadder, with more emotion. Something so intense my tears won't stop falling. I need a way to take out all these emotions.
Emotions?
Why do I feel them?
I don't know. I really don't.
I want to talk to people. To let them know how unokay I am. How I want this to be my last day. Am I rapid cycling? Am I going to survive? If I drink alcohol, I am dead. Just daydreaming about it makes me feel good. You know, death sounds so peaceful. The only scary part about it is the fact that I will have to go into survival mode before it, trying my best to survive. WHY would I do that? Why are natural instincts so annoying?

I cried a lot this morning. I called a suicide hotline. But nothing changed. Nothing did, they just took my information and spoke gently, telling me that I should eat yogurt and breathe fresh air. I can't stop smoking. Each puff cures my heart temporarily. It makes me feel better, but once I blow it out, a few seconds later, I'm back to square one.
Why is it that I am so sad?
Am I not going to have a stable home soon? Am I guilty over starting to feel aggressive again?

I am not sure if its just a visual bug or what, cause it is not increasing my carrying capacity along with it. I'd do the ModAV method but I am not sure if its the right thing as this MIGHT be visual. It shows +15 on the SC because I've got solar powered and the power armor bonus, typing active effects on the console doesn't show anything out of the ordinary either. I have Absolute Pitch, and I don't know about anyone else but playing/listening to songs in a different key to me is so fun and amazing and so refreshing. It's like hearing the piece again for the first time! I love listening to beethoven sonatas played on forte pianos where the tuning is generally down a half step, which I think for sonatas such as the Moonlight and Pathetique really gives it so much more emotion and feel.

Does anyone else who has Absolute Pitch really REALLY enjoy listening to a piece played in a different key to the original? Or is it just me 😅

My goal is to learn how to improvise and compose cinematic and orchestral music. I'm quite good at using my DAW but I want to learn to play melodies, scales, and improvise quickly and efficiently on my piano. (I can draw melodies in my midi player but I want to play)
I have 10--12 free hours a day for now. How to get good at improvising on the piano in different (or maybe 1-2-3) scales as quickly as possible?
I'm currently going through the book Alfred Piano Basic Course 1 and I'm midway through it. It's good but it doesn't teach much Harmony and scales yet. I could just power through it and the other 2 of his books until I can play everything there but my goals is composing. What would you personally do to maximize your improvisation ability if your life depended on it? I like tension cinematic music and solo piano music (like Ryuichi Sakamoto etc.) and want to compose music like that. (Keep in mind my goal is not to play a difficult piece like the moonlight sonata. I won't have to pay much attention to dynamics either as I will be fixing those in the DAW. I want to go through chords, harmonies, melodies as freely and easily as possible so that I can get out what is in my head down to my DAW or improvise melodic progressions etc)
Also, is there a set amount of time where playing the piano has diminishing returns. For example, would playing more than 4 hours a day be considered useless? Or 6? Where do you draw the line?
Any responses, books, courses, tips for my specific goal would be highly highly appreciated 🙏

Can someone please recommend me some albums with the same riffing style as Opeth's Orchid? I've been looking for stuff that's like Orchid for a long while because I just really, really hate the rest of Opeth's catalogue.
What I'm specifically looking for: the riffing style, that sort of power metally/trad heavy twin guitar melody work, (think, say, the intro of "In Mist...") where both guitars are playing slightly different melodies or harmonies at the same time (counterpoints) as opposed to have one playing melodies and the other doing chords, yet with a certain rock 'n' roll sloppiness to it. Important that there's little to no tremolo picking and the riffs are never chunky or groovy. Also that it has a dry, thin guitar tone. Also, and this is primordial, NO blast beats!
What I'm NOT looking for: stuff that's also melodic but is heavy on tremolo and blasts (literally any melodic black metal like Dissection, Dawn, Vinterland or Sacramentum), stuff that is just atmospheric but has nothing on the riffing style (Agalloch, Deafheaven, Tiamat, Swallow the Sun, Saturnus, In Mourning, Vehemence, In The Woods...), or bands that sound like Opeth (Scythe, Gwynbleidd, Asgaut). Also, Morningrise. Just no.
The albums I've found the closest thus far are:
