2024.05.15 08:25 YaBoyTBG Is torbjorn bad? When is he viable? Torbjorn discussion
I've been a torb one trick for half of ow2 now. As the game has been going on he slowly has felt less and less impact full to me. As the game continues to speed up and require more consistent damage torb kind of stayed the same and at this moment in season 10 he feels almost useless even if they have a dive comp. Like when is he actually viable? Cassidy is just way stronger against dive characters due to his way more consistent damage and hinder. Junk or literally any other spam character I would consider way better at choke holding due to the mobility most of those heroes offer. Bastion or reaper are way better at tank melting which is another torb thing. Hell even sym seems to have stronger turrets as I just tickle people half the time. But don't get me wrong his turret is decent when u use it properly but tbh it literally dies in 2 shots and doesn't move so it's usually a miracle if it gets any uptime. It just feels like in every scenario other characters are better. I guess he can do it all in a way but not good enough to where it matters it feels like. Don't get me wrong in lower ranks I feel fine with him as the games are a lot more random but when my team mates are top 500's almost every game is Cassidy, souljurn, and tracer and the other team is a lot more coordinated. I can't go and flank torb since if they see my slow big hitbox ass I'm just feeding and even when I sit in the backline I'm not doing anything as I can't apply any aggression for my Frontline but put my self in deaths range against Cassidy or souljurn by just saying hi. Even dive comps destroy him as they're coordinated and they just destroy my turret and focus me first so I can't bully the tank. It feels like I'm just feeding every game by playing him at this point. When am I supposed to play torb then? I've played multiple games with other characters mainly cas and genji or pharah are the ones I think of rn but they just feel light years easier to get value with and I literally don't have to think as much. Characters like genji and pharaoh require a little bit of positioning but when I play people like souljurn Cassidy or soldier I might as well have been drooling out of my mouth. felt like a point and click adventure game with a bunch of pretty colors. I didn't think of positioning as anyone who challenged me was sorry because I can just kill them so quick. No thought about bullets needing to be somewhere as they go where u aim. Ults took a little bit of brain power but that's it.I climbed to almost top 500 recently and was steadily playing masters 4 games for a little but just recently got into a losing streak and am diamond 1. I just can't win anymore and idk if it's me or the character at this point. I'm determined to stay with my little torb but anytime I play literally any hitscan or almost any other character. I feel like I'm just doing "more". My main question here is am I wrong for wanting torb to be stronger along with the other characters? Am I weird for thinking he's one of the weakest characters and when is he actually a better pick compared to everyone else. Please answer my questions and maybe tell me again what to do to bring the most out of torb. I swear I've read all the reddits and watched all the guides on what to do with this character for every map and every character and every scenario but it doesn't feel to even matter. But BINGO!

2024.05.15 06:43 Roxxie-Nyx Drag Bingo - Advice
Hey all! So last minute I’ve been invited to host Drag Bingo this weekend- This is a local pride fundraising event, and I’m very excited to be invited and involved. My friend is on the Pride committee and invited me, and is currently searching for another drag performer to host with me. (But if she can’t find anyone, she’ll just host it with me, and we’ll get her into drag for the second time ever!) The thing is I’ve never hosted drag bingo before! I love attending it, and the dynamics between the hosts is always one of the best parts. Luckily she knows me so while she looks for a second host she’ll be doing her best to find someone she’ll know that I’ll vibe well with, and if she ends up being the second host then we already know we vibe! My thing is that I’m a little on the socially awkward side sometimes, and I am not comedic. This obviously isn’t a requirement, but tends to be pretty popular particularly for hosting events. Having the second host to play off of will be the initial help for this. Does anyone have advice for hosting Drag Bingo? Any drag bingo jokes or anything that you particularly love using and know go over well? (Pic for algorithm goodness- Hex A’Peel) submitted by Roxxie-Nyx to DragKings [link] [comments]

2024.05.15 01:36 tarvolon Fake Italy, Real Scheming: An ARC Review of Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi
This review is based on an eARC (Advance Reading Copy) provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and can also be found on my blog. Navola will be released on July 9, 2024. Paolo Bacigalupi is an author that hit big while I was in a reading hiatus. I missed the boat, but I’ve been meaning to circle back around and try his stuff. And while I don’t read quite as many big, fat fantasies as I used to, I still have a soft spot for them. So when I saw he was releasing an intricate historical fantasy with plenty of backstabbing and politics, I thought Navola was a great opportunity to give his work a try.
Navola takes place in a heavily Italian-inspired fantasy world and follows the son of a powerful banking family as he struggles to live up to the cunning intelligence of his father and grandfather. It’s a slow build, following the lead from childhood into adolescence and early adulthood, and though the dragon eye on the cover is more than just window dressing, the story leans much more to the historical fantasy than to the magical. This is without a doubt a book for fans of politics and scheming.
As perhaps should be unsurprising, Navola starts laying the groundwork for the political plots very quickly, but it takes a long time for the lead or the reader to really grasp the shape of things. The lead is long on empathy and short on ambition, and though he tries to be a dutiful son, none of the political maneuvering really comes naturally. And so we see his adolescence—the lessons, the friendships, the horniness, the doubts about his chosen path, all of it. And while it may not be clear exactly where the story is going during that time, it’s clear enough that it is indeed going somewhere, and the quality of the prose is high enough that reading never feels like a chore, even when the plot is opaque.
And when the big seeds of plotting come due, they do so in a rush of blood and thunder that makes the book almost impossible to put down. There are times where the reader may see twists coming before the naive narrator does, but not so early that it spoils the tension or prevents those big moments from being utterly engrossing.
For readers in search of sympathetic characters, there aren’t many. The lead’s empathy makes him one of the likeliest, but his adolescence shows off as much or more self-centeredness as you’d expect from a teenager, and the world is desperate to shape him into a manipulator who trusts no one and loves no one outside his own family. Make no mistake, this is a book written for those seeking a tale that’s short on goodness and trust and long on manipulation and violence. It gets dark—there’s backstabbing, torture, sexual violence—but it’s certainly entertaining always waiting to see which twist is happening next.
Navola also isn’t an end to the story. In many ways, this is a book focused on shaping the main character to be what he needs to be for the rest of the series. A lot happens from a plot perspective, but it’s not a book that ends on a hero having accomplished his primary goal. There are significant character and plot arcs that more than justify Navola being its own book and not a mere piece of another book, but it’s absolutely designed as a series-starter.
So should you read this book? Well, it depends on what you’re after. Thematically, it has plenty to say on how the hunger for power and wealth creates a world of violence and mistrust, but those aren’t exactly observations you can’t find explored just as well elsewhere. Really, this depends on what kind of fantasy you enjoy. If you’re a fan of dark, gritty political fantasy and don’t mind buckling up for a slow-building series of doorstoppers, step right up. That’s what Bacigalupi is going for, and his writing quality is on full display. But if that isn’t your style, this probably isn’t a book that’s going to change your mind. It does an excellent job of being what it wants to be, but it’s not out to transform a subgenre. Perhaps there’s a shift with the sequels–it certainly wouldn’t be the first series that started playing firmly within the existing expectations and branched out as the series progressed–but Navola as a novel is one for the fans of darkness and intrigue.
Recommended if you like: historical fantasy, schemes and politics, books with no clear heroes.
Can I use it for
Bingo? It’s hard mode for Disability, and it’s also very obviously meant to be First in a Series, plus it’s Published in 2024, contains Dreams, Reference Materials, and a segment Under the Surface.
Overall rating: 17 of Tar Vol’s 20. Five stars on Goodreads.

2024.05.15 01:22 HaztaMaus Dell Alienware Aurora R16 with i7-14700KF: thermal throttling
TIA for any help you can give. I recently bought a pre-built Alienware PC: Aurora R16 desktop, i7-14700KF, RTX 4080, 240mm liquid cooling pump. I know that Alienware PCs are prone to issues with their thermals - I actually bought this one as the new R16 case seemed to solve a lot of those problems. I’m no stranger to building PCs and can usually troubleshoot by myself but this one has me stumped. I'm in the UK so my temps are in celsius.
Alienware command center (AWCC) shows CPU temps of around 35-50C idle and 70-90C under gaming load. Case temps are around the same. On tracking CPU temps with HWINFO under gaming load they're shown to go up to 100C, with all of the P cores undergoing thermal throttling. This happens frequently under gaming load, with all P cores affected (0-7). AWCC rarely seems to change fan speed in response to increasing temps and they stay around 22-23% most of the time under load. Quiet mode is the worst for thermal throttling and performance mode is the 'least bad'. I have set a custom fan curve which results in fans running 50-60% and no thermal throttling occurs when benchmarking - bingo! Problem is it's super loud, much louder than my previous liquid cooled PC. The PC also gives off an extreme amount of heat, which my SO even commented on from another room in the house. Cinebench 2024 CPU scores were 1300 (multicore) and 113 (single core), which I understand are lower than expected.
After hours on live chat with dell support I seem to have done every test under the sun and it's still experiencing thermal throttling straight away under gaming load (except with a very loud custom fan curve). All drivers are up to date and reinstalled. Bios has been reinitialised. No hardware issues detectable on any bios, supportassist or dell website tests.
TL;DR - my understanding is that as temps are staying under 100C due to thermal throttling, they are within acceptable limits. BUT thermal throttling should not be frequently occurring under gaming load, so this implies a problem with the cooling system. Am I right, and how do I fix this?

2024.05.15 01:04 ReveredFlah554 It Just Hits Different
My cousin said I "suck at Elden ring" and I'm trying to prove him wrong, even though I constantly beat him in races, bingo, or pvp. So I decided to beat the game at rune level 1. After about 12 hours of attempts over about a week or 2 I just beat Morgott. The feeling of finally being able to progress and knowing I'm actually getting gud was amazing. i will update some time later when i progress.
for anyone curious i am gonna put the rules here so I don't get questions about them. basically its stay at rune level 1, and no summons, be it spirit, npc, or player. I went with dragon halberd for this run because its big, does status+elemental damage with aow, and its not the serpent hunter which is basic

Experience comes from bad judgment.
And I have very good judgement when I'm not on fire. - Unknown, Age of Reasonable Concerns
i see you your name is Dhruv but before that it was Dahlit 397721 do you remember why they named you Deshmuhk? i do to remember, we have to go back The dust swirled around, carried by the winds that roared through the mountain passes, howled in the valleys, and scoured the faces of the mountains. It was a thick gray dust, glittering here and there with plasma glass dust. Burnt out cars were covered by the dust, thickly caked after being rained on by thick, black rain.
A single building somehow sat intact amid the rubble and destruction. It was a low, squat building, surrounded by wreckage and ruin. A sign, blasted and scorched, had two jumping fish on it and the legend "Pop: 4,823" at the bottom even though the middle of the sign was gone.
The sound of drums and singing could be heard from the building. Not the driving frantic beat of modern music, but the steady cadence that carried with it a solemn feeling. The singing was from many different voices, male and female, but all of them in a language that time had nearly forgotten.
From out of the dust came figures. Two female, four male, and single figure that stood out from others.
Together, they moved toward the sound of singing, until the reached the door.
The leader, a large man of heavy muscle and bone, checked the doors with one hand, a large pistol in his hand.
"Barricaded," the large man said. He motioned. "We should check for any other entrances."
The older woman of brown skin and tightly braided hair moved forward.
"Allow me, brother," she said gently. She held her hand out, twitched her fingers, and smiled.
From inside came the sound of furniture scraping across the floor.
"Thank you," the large man said. He pushed open the doors, holding them for the others.
Inside was a curio shop slash tourist center slash museum. Buckskin and beaded works hung from the walls and ceiling. Glass cases containing ancient artifacts were scattered about, the glass shattered by the apocalypse that had rained down upon the world.
The drums played and the voices sang.
"It's a recording, Father," the slender brown skin man said, brushing the gray dust off of his clothing.
"Live voice," the largest of the men said. He lifted his head, cocking it slightly to listen closer with his right ear. "Young. Early twenties."
"If you say so," the thin man said. He looked around. "This is all devoted to a single person."
"Sometimes, people are that important to others, Dhruv," the older brown skin woman said softly, patting the slender man's arm. "Important to others as you are to us."
The slender man looked doubtful but nodded.
The youngest male of the group looked around, staring at the artifacts and relics scattered around. On his shoulder sat a green mantid wearing a food wrapper as a poncho.
"She's this way," the heavyset man said, leading them on a winding course through the shattered displays and racks.
In the back room, surrounded by artifacts, buckskins, and beaded works, sat a single young woman. Her eyes were white, blinded from the plasma flashes. Her skin was scarred from burns, her hair was only left in small patches. Her skin, beneath the ash and the scarring, was a rich bronze, her remaining hair was black.
She was singing along with the recording, swaying back and forth slightly.
there she is remember her remember remember The larger man knelt down, touching the young woman.
She did not react.
"She's dying," the man said, standing up. "Hunger, thirst, radiation poisoning, at least a half dozen infections," he heft the pistol. "There's nothing we can do for her. Low-vee Apers."
"Low-vee APERS" the pistol replied in a heavy synthesized voice.
"Stay thy hand, Phillip," the one who was markedly different said, his voice as gentle as his features formed of flowing blue and white computer code.
The large man lowered the pistol.
"She's dying," the large man repeated. "Radiation poisoning, starvation, a hard way to go."
"Will none of you speak for her?" the man of code asked gently.
Before any of the others could act, the slim bald man stepped forward. "I will," he said softly.
the first time you reached out a frozen moment of time remembered by the buzzing of the bees The man of code stepped forward, touching the hairless brow of the slender man, just above the missing eyebrows.
"I understand her words now," the slender man said. He moved up and knelt down. "I can heal her."
"Then do so, Luke," the man of code said.
The large man stepped back, a compartment opening on his thigh. He holstered the pistol, looking doubtful, and the compartment smoothly closed, leaving his leg unblemished.
"I need more genetic code," the slender man stated. He stood up, moving around, touching artifacts. "This. Here. An artifact recovered from a collector only a few years ago. It has genetic code attached."
He touched the artifact, then moved over to the woman, who was still swaying back and forth, singing, unaware of the others around her.
He knelt down, reached out carefully, and touched her forehead.
you reached out to another helpless and alone like you The woman threw her head back, her eyes opening wide, her mouth opening in a gasp. The white drained from her eyes, the scar tissue went soft and was replaced by unblemished skin. The blisters, sores, and scratches on her body vanished.
She collapsed forward, the slender man, Luke, catching her.
"Is she alright?" the youngest male asked, his voice full of honest concern.
"Exhausted," Luke said. He lowered his head slightly, sweat dripping from his bald scalp. "That was tiring."
The glittering man moved forward, kneeling down to touch the shoulders of both the woman and the bald man.
"Now you see in yourself what I saw in you," he said.
remember remember even the smallest can shake the universe remember Sirens were howling in the bay as Jaskel wriggled, trying to break free of whatever was holding him upside down in mid-air. He'd already dropped his chainsword, his pistol had fallen from his equipment belt.
The two stood in the middle of the deployment area for Clone War Bay Sixteen, the male's arm protectively around the shoulders of the female, who wore only the cloak.
"I..." the word hung in the air.
It seemed like the entire universe held its breath to Jaskel.
"...am Legion."
The Admiral grabbed his pistol, rolling in place, firing it as fast as he could pull the trigger.
The rounds exploded on the glowing blue shield that only appeared around the impact points, showering sparks across the bay.
The bald figure made a motion and the pistol flew into pieces, the Admiral yanked into the air upside down.
"Gimme missiles," Jaskel grated from between gritted teeth.
--legion legion legion-- 8814 transmitted. --wait don't wait--
The woman spoke, her cadence stately and almost archaic feeling.
The man spoke back to her in the same language.
More troops ran into the bay, even as the windows overlooking the bay shattered. Weapons deployed, pointing at the pair.
The slender man, without looking, motioned.
Guns flew away, breaking apart, rapidly disassembling. Power armored troops were flung into the air, to hang upside down. Captain N'Skrek found himself upside down, scrabbling for purchase on this air.
The woman spoke to the man. He spoke back.
Finally, he turned, facing the troops hanging in mid-air.
The woman spoke.
"My sister apologies for my rude actions," the man said. "I am merely ensuring her safety."
She spoke some more.
"She has been gone for many years," the man said. He looked around. "My sister, a Biological Apostle of the Digital Omnimessiah, pleads with you to lower your weapons and stay your hands."
The tension was so thick it almost made Jaskel gag.
Finally, the Captain put the tip of a bladearm against his temple.
"Stand down," he said, Jaskel hearing it through his armor's commo system. "All hands, stand down."
There was silence for a moment, only broken by the background humming of the ship's systems.
The woman spoke.
The man faced the Captain.
"She will go with you, to answer questions, on the stipulation that I accompany her and that no man's hand is raised against me without cause," he said.
The Captain nodded.
Jaskel felt relief as he was flipped over and set on his feet.
--luke luke luke is here--

Captain N'Skrek ducked slightly to fit through the doorway into the Captain's Briefing Room Six.
Sitting at one end was the woman, now clothed in what his implant assured him was treated deer hide leather, with tassels and beads upon it. The man was wearing a uniform that made his implant twitch and his nerves draw tight.
A Terran Combined Military Authority uniform.
His staff filed in behind him and took their seats once he sat down.
"I'm Captain N'Skrek, currently assigned to the
Gray Lady on autonomous assignment," N'Skrek said.
"You heard me," the slim bald man said. He gave a grin. "You may also know me as Vat Grown Luke or Dhruv Deshmuhk."
The woman spoke and he shook his head. "Yes, sister, I know, Deshmuhk is my slave name. I wear it for revenge."
The woman spoke again, her tone slightly chiding.
"Like they say, the best revenge is living well, sister," the man said, still smiling.
Again, the woman spoke.
N'Skrek noticed that his implant was absolutely no help in deciphering the woman's speech.
"I know that doing things like that and saying things like that is exactly why Daxin always told me people wanted to punch me in the face," the man laughed.
He turned back to Captain N'Skrek.
"My apologies. My sister refuses to speak anything but her people's ancient tongue," his eyes gleamed with mischief. "She is slightly put out with me for answering in Confederate Standard, since now you know that she understands perfectly what you are saying."
N'Skrek nodded. Vat Grown Luke had given up a valuable piece of information in what was sure to be delicate negotiations.
"And what should we call your sister?" N'Skrek asked.
Vat Grown Luke smiled. "Tsakáka Wia, but it would probably be easier for you to use the more common name," he said.
The woman spoke sternly.
"What? It's your commonly known name?" he said, smiling.
The woman's face grew stern and she spoke rapidly.
"The first lesson we learn, sister mine, is that we must bend the knee to reality," Luke said gently. "That name has no power, only a few of us remember it."
i remember the bees remember can't you hear it in their buzzing? The woman spoke again, her expression softening.
Luke turned back to the gathered officers. "Her name, as you would know it, is Sacajawea."
N'Skrek consulted his implant.
And felt fear chill his icon. He looked at his staff and saw that a lot of them looked sick.
"That's right. We are real, and he was real," Luke said. He leaned forward slightly. "He was real both times."
N'Skrek stayed relaxed and calm, at least outwardly.
"I am willing to accept, at this time, that the Biological Apostles and the Digital Omnimessiah were and are real," N'Skrek said.
"Just be glad Dax isn't here. He's not as even tempered as I am," Luke said.
Sacajawea spoke again and Luke laughed. He looked at Captain N'Skrek. "She was just reminding me of the time Daxin completely lost his cool and went to town with his cutting bar on a Countess Crey Bingo Cola vending machine that ate his money then mocked him for it."
"He was known as Enraged Phillip," N'Skrek said.
Sacajawea spoke for a moment and Legion laughed, then turned to N'Skrek.
"Yes."
N'Skrek hated that. When a person spoke at length and the translator just replied with a single word.
"Why are you here?" N'Skrek asked.
Legion smiled. "You have forgotten important things, Captain. You, and the entire Confederacy have forgotten some very important things."
"Like what?" N'Skrek asked.
"If you print enough identical clones, I am reborn through them," Legion smiled. "But that's not the big part. The big one is the one that the Mar-gite's masters either forgot or never learned."
"What is that?" N'Skrek asked.
Legion smiled widely.
"What fear tastes like."

2024.05.15 00:21 Mybandsux 45 Degree overhang issues on MK4 with new filament
I've been working with Prusa help for about a week to no success yet, so I figured I'd see if anyone here had any ideas.
I'm trying to print
these Printables Models. As you can see in the notes, no one has any issues with the cylindrical part.
I tried using a brand new Nextruder .4mm nozzle setup with brand new PETG and had issues. The purple filament is PLA. Then I tried turning off input shaper, all with no luck.
Images here. The purple PLA benchy and black PETG test square both came out great, adding to the mystery. I've printed this cylinder about 6 times now with different configs and they all come out almost the same, except for a layer shift on one.
My setup is a MK4 that's been fantastic, just added an MMU3 when this problem started. I print in a
makeshift enclosure that's been fantastic historically.
Prusa help has had me try all of the following.
-Clean nozzle
-Swap nozzle
-Help agent tried printing my exact bgcode on his printer in PETG and it came out perfectly (he even sent photos as proof)
-Check x belt tension (perfect at 86hz)
-Fan self check and RPM number at 100%
-Photos of my nozzle, heat block, and thermistor
-Swapped nozzle, heat block, and thermistor (.4mm diamond nozzle with V6 adapter)
-full printer self test
-IS off print
-Auto cold pulls with MMU disabled. Note on this one, the pulls kept coming out wrong, I did 5 pulls on 3 different nozzles (two .4mm, one .6mm) all of which I'm quite confident aren't clogged, and I tried cleaning. I'm wondering if maybe this is a MMU3 thing? Something about the changes you make to the nextruder setup/filament sensor etc? We couldn't get a cold pull to look good on any nozzle.
Anyone have any ideas at all on what's going wrong? Other things to test/try?
Thanks for the help!
Edit: Gonna try test printing some suggestions and I'll upload the results!

2024.05.14 23:55 Aggravating-Ad-351 "Behind The Scenes"
Obviously, Bluey is intended to show the family playing games while givng viewers life lessons, and we don't see what happens outside outside of that. I like to wonder how much actually happens before and in between parts of the game that we don't see. Featherwand and Fairires are great examples. While it just may be Bingo's imagination, I like to think that the whole family takes their time to set everything up, espcially when the living room is fully decorsted, and I also think Bingo takes time to explain Featherwand to everyone, including Pat.
That leads me to my next pojnt. There's a few games where the neighbors (Pat especially) are randomly drawn into the games without warning, and it seems like Bandit tells him beforehand on what exactly needs to happen. For example, he could have told him to go buy a pie so that he could steal and eat it and that he'd pay him back, and he would also tell him exactly where to be and at what time. Either that, or it is just a coicidence that he is always in the path of their antics.
I get it's just a cartoon, but I like hearing people give their own take on stuff like this.

2024.05.14 23:26 bvanevery digital tabletop gaming
Because I have some time on my hands lol, I went looking for board game venues in Asheville NC. There are a variety of foci and business models to them. I came across a photo, which I will leave unattributed, that reminds me of an old idea. something clunky this way comes I'm not sure what this giant wooden box they're all sitting around is? Is it static? Is it reconfigurable? Does it have blinkin' doo dads in it? Does it attach to other digital devices in some way? Yes I could ask at the game store I saw the photo, but they're closed today and that would be too easy. I mean it looks like they drink coffee off of it. Maybe it just holds all their junk, like miniatures and dice and stuff? If so, I would call that a complete waste of space, but maybe others differ. The old idea, is of an interactive tablet the size of a table, that can be moved around from venue to venue, and people can interact with. I don't know how easy it is to homebrew / cobble together / stitch such a display. Frankly one of my last attempts at 3d graphics consulting in the early 2000s, I lost a gig about such display architectures. I suggested a software rendering approach in an era that was moving into shader language programming. Oh well. There used to be papers about large scale "printable" paper-like displays, with entrepreneurial possibilities like putting the damn things on cereal boxes as ads. God I hope not. Don't know where that stuff ever went. There have been various laser projection devices for use with VR, some that would go right into your retina. Others, perhaps you could scan on a table. That would make it some kind of fancy projector. Maybe in the vector graphics display category. I once saw a US Civil War exhibit in a small museum somewhere, possibly in Kentucky, that did a laser projection onto a physical topographical map. The cost of the project was listed, I'm remembering something like $90k at the time. It was pretty cool with an overhead laser projector pointing downwards. Units with the usual sorts of X's and oval shapes would move around and you could see how the fighting went. I'm thinking the battlefield was Wildcat Mountain? Yeah, the Battle of Camp Wildcat and I wasn't wrong about the alternate name. I thought I even remembered some commercial attempts to sell some kind of tabletop display. But it's been a long time, like at least a decade. Meanwhile as I attempt to find players for some kind of "old school, complex, time intensive" board game, I'm finding scheduling to be a primary constraint among adults. Difficult to find people who can set aside 8 to 12 hours to play such games. Tabletop displays also don't solve problems of limited information or fog of war. You could of course change the display for a single player's available knowledge, but then everyone else would have to look away and not peek. Tractable, but not ideal. One obvious solution is to have people jack in their own laptops, but then the question is, what's the common shared display for? A tabletop display would make sense for a collaborative game. For instance, you're the party going through a dungeon. Or you're the bridge crew of a starship. submitted by bvanevery to GamedesignLounge [link] [comments]
2024.05.14 21:16 DingoBingoAmor Judicial System Rant
So, sorry for probably ruining your day but I had to vent this somewhere.
So, this one Psycho in our neighborhood (in Lublin) just got caught. Turns out he was already arrested previously and got recognized by a few local cops. He purpusefully set fire to multiple apartment blocks from the top to give the Firefighters a harder time. One old Lady I know nearly suffocated and had to lock herself on her Balcony and pray that the Firefighters get to her before the Fire does. Thankfully she made it out but her Apartment (and much of her priceless family belongings - I was there once, ever inch was covered in priceles photos, old Jewlery, expensive carpets and other hairlooms) was charred horribly.
And what is this guy's punishment? 10 years in PRISION. Prision - so now that poor old lady has to pay Taxes so that he has Food, Clothing, a roof over his ugly-ass head and heating.
No I do not care how many times his dad beat him or what sort of mental ilness he has he should face PROPER Justice for his crimes. Preferrably in the form of a very cheap substitute for Prision - a bit of bullet-shaped lead.
Remember - this guy, this absolute mindless psycho is treated the same as someone who accidentaly killed someone else on the road or a Wife who strangled her abusive Husband. Wow that sure does seem fair said nobody ever.
,,But DingoBingo" you may say ,,what about forced labor?" Ah yes, let's put Poles out of their jobs and bankrupt local companies so that Dangerous Criminals can be given life-threatening tools and hopefully make a subpar quality, steaming pile of shit somewhat resembling a Highway. But hey the Government can flex how they made them ,,useful" ignoring the 500 attempted escapes and multiple fights between inmates that went leathal due to the presence of sharp tools.
Oh, and the Poorest also have to pay Taxes to keep theese criminals in good shape.
What a wonderful system - ,,Christian Mercy" for Psychopaths and Corrupt Crooks, but not for the Poor, the Meek and the folks who just got fucked over in life.

The Heybets Crypto Casino Site
There's no denying that Heybets is one of the top bitcoin casinos around. As well as offering a great online casino experience, there is also an attractive sportsbook where you can enjoy sports betting on the top action. This means that you can play games, and win in the best sporting events, all in the same place.
Let's have a closer look at what makes this one of the best bitcoin gambling sites:
Heybets and Crypto Casino Games While there's plenty to consider when looking for the best bitcoin casino, there's no escaping the fact that the range of casino games matters. There needs to be plenty to keep players entertained, there need to be provably fair games, and sports betting is an added bonus. Here's what Heybets has to offer:
Slot Games With traditional online casinos, slot games are the staple of what's on offer. These are the most popular casino games out there, and so you'd expect the best bitcoin casino sites to perform well here. The good news is that Heybets certainly delivers here. There are classic slots, jackpot slots, and those with stunning bonus rounds. Just a few of the titles include:
- Wanted Dead or a Wild
- Sugar Rush
- Hot to Burn
- Fruit Party
While the number of slots matters, for a site to be the best bitcoin casino, the quality matters too. Fortunately, the games here only come from the best providers, such as:
- NetEnt
- Hacksaw Gaming
- Red Tiger
- Quickspin
This just goes to show that you can rely on online crypto casinos if you're one of the many slot fans out there.
Table and Card Games Something else that makes Heybets one of the best cryptocurrency casinos is the fact that it also caters well for fans of other games. Here, you'll find a selection of classics, such as:
- Blackjack - There's a range of blackjack variants at this btc casino such as American, Multihand, and Lightning.
- Roulette - You'll also find a range of roulette casino games to enjoy. You'll be able to play European and American roulette, as well as variants such as Lightning and Double Ball.
- Poker - While you won't find live online poker rooms here, there are 3 variations of video poker to enjoy.
Live Casino Games Heybets also has a great range of live dealer games. You can enjoy live versions of blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. Thanks to the fact that the live casino is powered by Evolution Gaming, you can also make the most of live game shows, such as Dream Catcher and Monopoly Big Baller.
Banking and Crypto Transactions As with all gambling websites, the payment methods on offer are important when it comes to choosing an online casino to play at. The top bitcoin casino sites allow players to use a range of cryptocurrencies, as well as supporting other methods that you'd find at fiat casinos. Ay Heybets, you can use the following to fund your account and play casino games:
- Bitcoin
- Litecoin
- Ethereum
While there's plenty of choice here, what would make this stronger would be the inclusion of the likes of Dogecoin and Tether.
When considering more traditional methods of depositing and withdrawing, Heybets also allows you to use bank wire. There are no fees when using this option for fiat currencies, but users of crypto will need to be aware of the relevant GAS fees.
Heybets and Bonuses and promotions As you'd expect from a site that could well be considered the best bitcoin casino, there are a host of bonuses and promotions here. Let's get the bad news out of the way with first: this crypto casino does not offer a welcome bonus. With that out of the way, let's take a look at the bonuses and promotions on offer for existing players. While these change on a regular basis, these are the ones that are a constant:
Raise Your Arm Zeus This bonus comes into play when you're playing the online slot, Gates of Olympus. You'll activate the bonus at this bitcoin casino if you manage to win 20x - 100x from the free spins feature. If you're in luck, this leads to this crypto casino boosting your winnings by 100%.
Extra Juice The lack of a welcome bonus doesn't seem to sting quite so much when you look at the likes of Extra Juice. This bonus kicks in on a selection of new casino games. It can lead to winnings being boosted by 7%.
Sports Betting While our focus is on online casinos, it's worth noting that Heybets also offers a range of ongoing bonuses and promotions for customers of its sportsbook.
Loyalty Program If you're looking for the bitcoin casino with the best loyalty rewards then Heybets is it. The VIP program here has 5 tiers, and each comes with its own rewards. To enter at the bronze level, you need to have wagered at least $2,500. With this, you can enjoy 5% cashback on all bets. Reach diamond and you'll benefit from 10% cashback as well as exclusive bonuses and rewards. This certainly makes this site stand out from other bitcoin casinos.
Heybets Customer Service With online gambling, it's a must that a site offers great customer support. At Heybets, you can be sure that you're covered here. Just like all relatively new bitcoin casino sites, there's a need for Heybets to go above and beyond to inspire confidence. It certainly does that with almost instant responses on its live chat which is staffed by knowledgable and polite agents. The only downside is that this isn't available 24/7.
Mobile Experience While this bitcoin online casino doesn't have a dedicated app, players can still play games via their mobile browsers. The casino games here are compatible with mobile devices thanks to HTML5 technology and the work of the developers behind them.
Summing up the Heybets Online Crypto Casino Let's sum up the pros and cons, and see what makes this online casino one that's worthy of your attention:
Pros: - Great range of online slots and table games
- Impressive selection of live casino games
- Generous ongoing promotions
- Opportunity to explore sports betting
Cons: - Lack of welcome bonus/deposit bonuses
- No mobile app
- Customer support not 24/7
The Metaspins Bitcoin Casino
When looking at the best bitcoin casinos, Metaspins is another online gambling site that can't be ignored. If you're the kind of player seeking an attractive deposit bonus, then you'll be more than happy with what's on offer here. As we get into the detail, you'll soon see why Metaspins deserves a place on our list of the best bitcoin casinos.
Metaspins and Bitcoin Games Something that is clear when looking at the best BTC casinos is that there is no shortage when it comes to the range of games that there are to choose from. What puts Metaspins in the running for the best bitcoin casino site is the fact that there are more than 2,500 games to explore. Given that this site was only launched in 2022, it can still be considered to be one of the new bitcoin casino sites, so there's a good chance that the range of games will only grow. Let's take a closer look at what's on offer now:
Slot Games What makes Metaspins one of the best crypto casinos is the range of slots that can be played. These are provably fair games, and they come from some of the best providers in the business. In fact, what makes the range of slots so exciting here is the sheer number of providers that Metaspins works with. There are more than 30 of these, including the likes of:
- Relax Gaming
- Wazdan
- Yggdrasil
- Quickspin
You can expect to come across some of the most popular slot titles, such as Gonzo'a Quest, Starburst, and Dark King: Forbidden Riches. For fans of jackpot slots, there's a great range of these too, including Jackpot Quest and Rainbow Jackpots Power Lines.
Table and Card Games As you'd expect from a site in the ranks of the best bitcoin casino, there's more to this BTC casino than slots. There's also a great range of table and card games, meaning that Metaspins is an attractive destination for fans of all casino games. The games that you'll find cover all the classics such as:
- Blackjack
- Roulette
- Baccarat
- Video poker
Live Casino Games Like many of the best crypto casinos, Metaspins also has an impressive range of live games. These come from top developers such as Swintt and Evolution Gaming. When gambling online here, there are traditional titles to choose from, including live poker games, as well as game show experiences. such as Crazy Time and Boom City.
Banking and Crypto Transactions This crypto casino accepts a range of cryptocurrencies. This is good news for players as it means that can find the crypto that suits them. The other great thing at this crypto casino is that, if you don't happen to have any crypto of your own, you can use VISA or MasterCard to purchase some. The cryptos available include:
- Bitcoin
- Bitcoin Cash
- Ethereum
- Tron
- Ripple
- Dogecoin
- Litecoin
As bitcoin online casinos go, this is an impressive showing and will be a major draw for new players.
Metaspins Bonuses and Promotions A major part of online casinos is the welcome bonus money that's up for grabs. Alongside this, players also like to see reload bonuses, cashback, free spins and even no deposit bonuses (although these are a little on the rare side). With that in mind, let's take a look at what this bitcoin casino has to offer:
Metaspins Welcome Bonus The welcome bonus offered here is certainly attractive, and is bound to catch the eye of many players. As one of the best bitcoin casino sites, Metaspins offers a 100% match bonus up to a maximum of 1 btc. That means that if you were to deposit 0.5 btc, you'd then be rewarded with another 0.5, meaning that you had 1 btc to play with. The only watch out here is the wagering requirements. They come in at 40x, and they need to be met within 7 days. This could prove a little tricky if you were to take advantage of the maximum bonus money offered.
Deposit and Get As deposit bonuses go, this one we think is extremely impressive. It really is as simple as it sounds: you continue to make deposits, and you can be certain that you'll get rewards. You just need to keep an eye on your rewards panel. When you see a notification, give it a click and see what you've been given. Some of the rewards on offer are:
- Reload bonuses to use on your favourite casino games.
- Free spins that can be enjoyed on the best slot games.
- MetaLotto tickets that can lead to substantial prizes.
These ongoing rewards mean that there are plenty of reasons for players to stay loyal to, what we believe, is one of the best bitcoin casinos.
Sports Betting Just like many of the other best bitcoin casinos, Metaspins also has an impressive sports betting section. There are separate bonuses to be enjoyed here.
Metaspins Customer Service To be seen as one of the best crypto casino sites, there's a need for online gambling platforms to offer outstanding customer service. Bitcoin casinos are still relatively new, and knowing that the company is there when you need it matters even more than it does at traditional sites. Metaspins delivers here, with 24/7 live chat, as well as a detailed FAQ section. The fact that customer support is always there means that this truly is one of the top bitcoin casinos.
Mobile Experience This btc casino doesn't have a dedicated app as yet, but that doesn't mean the games can't be enjoyed on the go. Simply by using your mobile browser, you can access Metaspins from any mobile device and enjoy the full crypto casino experience, no matter where you are.
Summing Up the Metaspins Crypto Casino As before, now's the time to round up the pros and cons of this crypto casino site, so that you can decide if this is one that you want to play at:
Pros: - Attractive welcome bonus
- Huge range of provably fair games.
- 24/7 customer support
- Reload bonuses that include free spins
- Selection of cryptos accepted.
Cons: - Wagering requirements must be met within 7 days
- No mobile app (however the browser experience is outstanding).
The Immerion Bitcoin Casino Site

Slots You may think that Inmerion is the best crypto casino based on the number of slots alone. There are more than 3,000 of these to choose from, meaning that even the most ardent slot fans have plenty to keep them entertained. Among this vast number of slots, you're going to come across new titles, as well as many classics, such as:
- Big Bass Bonanza

Inmerion's Bitcoin Casino Bonus Whether it's a healthy welcome bonus, a loyalty program, or reloads that appeal, btc casinos need to have something special on offer to be classed as the best. Let's take a look at what Inmerion has to offer:
Welcome Bonus As it stands, there is no Immerion welcome bonus on offer. This may be a letdown for some players who can't benefit from their first deposit. However, there are other casino bonuses to enjoy.
Engine of Fortune This is a daily bonus that allows you to spin the wheel of fortune. You need to have deposited at least $50 in the last 24 hours and then you can spin. The prizes on offer include free spins, cash, and a more than impressive top prize of 5 btc.
Daily Cashback No matter who plays at this online crypto casino, they can all benefit from the ongoing cashback offer. Each and every day you benefit from receiving 20% of your losses from the previous day. This is something that really appeals and certainly puts Inmerion in the running for the best bitcoin casino.
Sports Betting This is another of the best crypto casinos that has an attractive sports book, along with some great bonuses.
Inmerion Customer Service Reputable casinos need to be there for their customers. There need to be ways that customers can reach out and have their queries resolved in a timely manner. Here, you'll find that live chat is on hand 24/7 to deal with any issues. What we also liked was the fact that there is separate support for those wanting assistance with deposits and withdrawals.
Mobile Experience Just like the other other crypto casinos that we've looked at so far, there is no mobile app here. However, you can still enjoy Inmerion online gambling via your smartphones and tablets via your mobile browser. Nothing is lost when compared to the desktop experience, and it allows you to enjoy all that Inmerion has to offer with added convenience.
Summing up the Inmerion Crypto Casino That brings us towards the end of our look at this bitcoin gambling site. Before we move on to the next, let's sum up the pros and cons:
Pros: - Massive range of games.
- Ongoing promotions, including free spins.
- Range of cryptocurrencies accepted, with the chance to withdraw your gambling winnings with ease.
- Impressive sports betting section.
- Exceptional live dealer section.
Cons: - No welcome bonus so no way to benefit from the first deposit.
- Lack of a mobile app
The BC Game Online Casino
As we continue to explore the best bitcoin gambling sites, next up is BC Game. This is a site that was established back in 2017, and there is no doubt that this is one of the most reputable btc casinos that there is. Let's take a look at what's on offer, and what makes this one of the best crypto casinos that there is.
BC Game Library This crypto gambling platform is nothing short of mind-blowing when it comes to the number of games to choose from. At BC Game, you'll find that there are more than 9,000 to explore and that makes this crypto gambling site really stand out. What else is impressive here is that the games cater for high rollers as well as those with a more conservative budget. Let's take a look at just what there is here:
Slot Games Like other bitcoin casinos that we've looked at so far, there are plenty of slots to enjoy here. Alongside titles that you'll find at other crypto casinos, BC Game also has a host of exclusive games that you won't find anywhere else. The remainder of the library is made up of titles from providers such as Play 'n Go, Microgaming, NetEnt, and Quickspin. Just some of the slots you'll find here include:
- Book of Shadows
- Starburst XXXtreme
- Aztec Pyramid
What we like here is that you can spin with bets as low as $0.01 so these games are accessible to all.
If you're a fan of jackpot slots, you'll find that there are more than 150 progressives here, with the chance to win life-changing amounts.
Table and Card Games With so many games overall, it's probably unsurprising that there's also a great selection of table and card games too. Here, you can play classics such as:
- Blackjack
- Roulette
- Craps
- Baccarat
- Scratchcards
Live Dealer Games BC Game also has live dealer games like the other btc casinos that we've looked at so far. These come from the best in the business, namely Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play. In truth, the selection here isn't as wide as it is at other crypto casinos, but there is still plenty to keep you entertained.
Banking Options at BC Game Just like other crypto casinos that make our list of the best, BC Game has plenty of options to choose from. While there are no alternatives away from crypto, the number of these that you can play and withdraw your winnings with is impressive. Some of those that you can use include:
- Bitcoin

- Dogecoin
- Ripple
- Cardano
- Tron
- Polkadot
- Solana
BC Game Bonuses This bitcoin casino also comes with some attractive bonuses and promotions that are sure to appeal to players everywhere. Here's a look at what's up for grabs
Welcome Bonus The welcome bonus here is a little different compared to that at other crypto casinos. That's because it's spread over your first 4 deposits. Here's how it's broken down:

- Second deposit - 240% up to 40,000 BCD
- Third deposit - 300% up to 60,000 BCD

The wagering requirements are 40x. While this may be common it does make it a little difficult to take full advantage of what's offered.
No Deposit Bonuses Right now, BC Game is also offering a no deposit bonus for new players who sign up. Simply by joining, you can claim $5 worth of free spins that can be used on the Lucky Wheel. Prizes can be up to $500 or come in a variety of cryptocurrencies.

This is a version of the Lucky Wheel that comes with even more rewards, with the chance to pocket 3 btc.
Sports Betting Like the other bitcoin casinos that we've looked at so far, BC Game also has a sportsbook that comes with its own bonuses and rewards.
BC Game Customer Service We're impressed with this crypto casino and the levels of support that are on offer. Firstly, there's the 24/7 live chat function. This is staffed by knowledgeable agents who provide speedy responses. As well as this, there is also the option to reach out via email. This takes longer to receive a reply, but when it does come it is detailed and resolves most issues.
Mobile Experience If you're wanting to play on the go, BC Game has an impressive mobile app. This can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices and provides a truly outstanding experience. If you'd rather not download, you can also play via your mobile browser.

Stake Online Casino Site
If you have ever explored crypto casinos, there's a very good chance that you have come across the name, Stake. Why? Well, it's widely regarded as one of the best out there. As you keep reading, we're going to delve into the details and show you why.
Stake Game Selection While Stake may not have as many games as we've seen at BC Game, there are still more than 2,000 to choose from. In truth, this is plenty to keep players entertained, and the good news is that each and every title is truly exceptional. Let's take a look:
Online Slots Slots are a major draw for players, and Stake certainly delivers in this area. You'll find a wide range of titles, with those that are instantly recognisable such as:
- Sweet Bonanza
- Sugar Rush 1000
- Blue Samurai
Alongside top providers, such as NetEnt, Push Gaming, and Wazdan, there are also Stake original slots. If you give these a try, we're sure that you'll be impressed.
Table and Card Games Just like the other best bitcoin casino sites, at Stake, you'll discover a great selection of classic casino games. Whether you're a fan of blackjack, excited by the spin of the wheel, or looking to take a chance with baccarat, Stake has you covered. The only game lacking here is poker. If your casino experience is based on video poker, you may need to play elsewhere.
Live Casino Games You're sure to be impressed with what's on offer in terms of live dealer games. The lobby is bursting with titles coming from Evolution and Pragmatic Play. There are also titles from Bombay Live Games. This means that Stake has everything covered, and offers a live experience that's second to none.
Banking Options As you'd expect from an operator that makes our list of the best bitcoin casinos, there are plenty of payment options to choose from. While this is a 100% crypto site, the good news is that you're not just limited to one or two of these. Just some of the ones you can use include:
- LiteCoin
- Bitcoin
- Ethereum
- Dogecoin
- Bitcoin Cash
In total, Stake accepts 20 cryptocurrencies, so there's sure to be one that you're comfortable using.
Bonuses at Stake Casino Before we explore the bonuses and promotions that Stake has to offer, let's first look at what's not up for grabs. At Stake, there is no welcome bonus on offer right now. There's no first deposit bonus or free spins. Why? Well, Stake is confident that it has enough to offer, and can attract new players with ease. With that out of the way, let's take a look at what you can take advantage of:
Daily Race There is a prize pool worth $100,000 every day. When you play casino games, or wager at the sports book, you have the chance to win from this.
Weekly Giveaway Each week there's the chance to share in a prize fund worth $75,000. To take part, you need to wager $1,000 for a ticket.
Multiplier Race If you reach the highest multiplier on specified games, you may walk away with the top prize of $10,000.
Loyalty Program Stake has an attractive loyalty program. However, before you enter the first level, you need to wager at least $10,000. This makes this a program for true high rollers. The rewards on offer include rakeback and daily bonuses.
Stake Customer Service Just like other operators that we class as being among the best crypto casinos, at Stake there is a live chat option. This is available 24/7 and offers a great way to resolve any queries. You can expect a speedy response from agents who are polite and courteous.
Mobile Experience Stake doesn't have a dedicated mobile app right now. However, you can still play on the go by going directly through your mobile browser. This means that you can play on any tablet or smartphone, without the need to download.

Live Dealer Games This section seems to be a work in progress. As you click to enter the live area, it says that there are currently no games to play. However, there is a detailed explanation of how live bitcoin games work. This is something to be monitored as it surely means live games are on their way.

Weekly Spotlight Each week,
Wild.io nominates a game that is in the spotlight. When you wager on the specified game, you're rewarded with more loyalty points.
Wild Weekends Each Friday,
Wild.io launches a promotion for the weekend. This could be a reload matched deposit bonus, free spins, or anything else that the operator decides to offer.

2024.05.14 20:49 SrKatana Odin 2 Max fixed itself before placing the screen replacement. No more ghost touches.
Hello guys, I'm the guy that posted a week ago the problem which my Odin was facing: Phantom/Ghost touches, that evolved on ghost touching ONLY on the lock screen in the FIRST week of use. I had to do many stuff like blocking and unblocking the device mid gaming session or resetting it just to make it stop and , at least, try to enjoy it while I could. I decided to contact AYN since the console was NEW. Ashley (customer service) was SUPER AMAZING, answering as soon as she could. Being effective. After activating the "Show Taps" option in the Developer Options of the device (I had to use the cross arrows and buttons since the touch screen was crazy at times) and record a video for Ashley, they sent me a screen replacement. PROPS TO AYN, THEY SENT ME THE SCREEN VIA DHL , ALL PAID, NO CUSTOMS. Today, I've received the screen, my brother is a master on repairing and cleaning this kind of devices. He was skeptical that a new product like that would be defective at all, but I showed him all the cases. He told me that might be something making pressure to the screen ribbon wire or something like that, so he would open it and test the console after changing everything to the new replacement. (YES, you need to place every part to the new replacement). We turned it on, we tried it, and I realised that the ghost touches got STABILIZED. The were still appearing but now ONLY in a screen border, and at a very low rate. Before changing the screen completely, I just wanted to try stuff to check If I could get rid of those. Since the phantom touches were occuring in the LOCK SCREEN mainly, I decided to try on different locking methods (PIN, Numbers..) But I discovered that the ODIN supports fingerprints so I activated the FINGER PRINT option to unlock the device. Marking also the option that will recognise the device only if the screen is on. (So you need to press the unlock button , and then put your finger on it, not a big deal). BINGO. Magically from that moment, till now , all the ghost touches have disappeared. No trace of them for more than 5h, and counting. I will maintain this screen, I will keep the replacement as if it were gold (Just in case they come back, or if my console gets damaged in the future) Also, will be updating with comments the state of the console. But for now, It seems fixed. I mentioned before that when I got the phantom touches, turning the screen off and on was fixing the issue. Might the option of unlocking the device with a fingerprint after turning on the screen is the key that prevents the Ghost touches to appear again? Defective digitalizer? Buggy OTA or Kernel? I don't know, but I'm feeling so relieved now. submitted by SrKatana to OdinHandheld [link] [comments]

2024.05.14 19:45 Ms_basicc Trinkets/Bingo Cards?
Hi All!!
As we get closer to the event I have been thinking of trinkets and stuff to hand out to fellow attendees. When i have attended Roo and Eforest there were some people that handed out bingo cards to people just for fun of things people did every year and just fun activities most people do at the festivals. This would be my first time attending LIB but would love to work on something like this for the festival. Is this something people would be interested in? If so any one have good idea to put in the bingo spaces!! (Side Note: I am aware of paper waste being an issue and was planning on using Wildflower Seed paper.)
As for trinkets I am trying to not be to wasteful as well and was wondering what people liked getting from New friends or strangers. Any thoughts?
Thanks you all in advance :) <3
