2024.05.09 18:02 pohltergiest Sky walking and lab teams

Sky walking and lab teams
This morning I woke with a fuzzy head, but in good spirits, my sleep being peaceful. I took some cold medicine and took a hot bath to get off some of the sealant that got on my hands and legs that I didn't have the wherewithal to deal with the night before.
I dressed lightly, maybe a bit too lightly for the weather as it's a bit cold and dreary today compared to recent weather. It's bright though, and I didn't need my umbrella yet. There was a bakery and cafe in the same block as the apartment, so I went there. The pastries and coffee were nothing special, but were nice with the book I started reading. Finally finished the lord of the rings, wanted to do that since I was a kid. Well maybe not finish finish, reading through the annals and appendices is enough to give me a headache and the silmarillion and later collections can wait til I've had a bit of a breather.
I decided to go to an adjacent district as a train station was nearby and a nice garden was there I could visit. We only have one key for the apartment so I didn't want to go too far. I went to korakoen, which turned out to be nearly empty with the light drizzle and chill air. The garden featured many rock-paved paths weaving through dim forested areas and up and over small hills blanketed with fluffy looking grasses. There is not a lot blooming in this garden at the moment, but I enjoyed the three colours of early irises making their debut. The pond here was intended to be a miniature of lake biwa, of this I have no doubt it was done faithfully. The garden was pocketed in a busy area with many tall buildings and the Tokyo dome looking over the scene like a bloated insect full of eggs.
I was a little cold and had some time, so I stopped at the tea house and had a matcha and a sweet and sat by the window and enjoyed the green of the garden and the steadily brightening day. The matcha was the nicest I've had, not bitter at all like I'm used to. Maybe I can try more of it now. While I sat o read my book and idly looked up beginner sewing machines. I don't really have the space for a sewing counter but most people I know into sewing seem to have a half dozen jammed into a shoebox of a room so maybe that's just a cop out.
Heading back, I picked up Bryce and Jae and we headed off for lunch. We went to a Thai place per Bryce's hunger and I had a coconut curry and a variety of Japanese styled Thai dishes. The spicy curry was excellent for my sore sinuses. We took a short train ride north to hit up a Round 1 arcade so Bryce could play his favourite game, after searching a few places we found a machine and got playing. I got more into a rhythm game, I kinda wanted headphones so I could hear it better over the noise in the place!
Bryce next took us to Shibuya Sky, which is a tall building with a viewing platform at the top. We took the same train back to Shibuya, finding the building though the mess of people. We first went up to the 14th floor, then boarded the elevator for the top, which was the 55th floor. The elevator had a screen on the ceiling to entertain us with pretty lights as we climbed, the elevator not being nearly as fast as the light speed elevator in Yokohama. At the top, we were ushered through some glass doors and up an escalator to a panoramic open outdoor space on top of the skyscraper, helipad and all. The sun felt closer way up above the city, and the view was magnetic. The feeling of being just on the edge of the building behind glass, looking down dozens of floors was a little intoxicating with the thrill. We found some seats on a couch overlooking downtown Tokyo and watched tiny ships go by on the bay and tiny cars go by on expressways. Far below a group of kids were playing a ball game on a court. What a lovely view.
We were a little hungry so we went to a knock off burger chain called zetteria, which is a knockoff of Lotteria, which in itself is a knockoff of McDonald's. This place had honey mustard chicken burgers and melon flavoured milkshakes, and I thought it was pretty good. We decided to kill a little time before our next event so we decided to finally brave a pachinko parlor and figure out what it was about. We went to a place that said we could ask the staff any questions we wanted, so we went up and asked "how does this work?". An extremely flustered staffer ran off and returned with three pamphlets titled "my first pachinko" which was adorable and hilarious considering how badly these parlors affect Japanese society. I pumped in ten bucks, got a pile of metal ball bearings, gave half to Bryce and got to it.
Pachinko in function is very simple, twist a knob to set the strength of a launcher that sends the ball bearings up into a track that then falls down plinko style, hopefully hitting a central hole which then starts a slot game. If you win the slot game you win more ball bearings. Because you set the strength of the launcher, that makes this a game of skill, but in practice half the people are just holding the knob and staring at their phones until something happens. In our case I had one win but my 10 bucks quickly evaporated. Well that was interesting. I guess it's always a blessing when you try a form of gambling that you don't win off the bat. I've lost big time on that in the past.
After pachinko we started our train ride to the other side of downtown. Our second train was different than the others, a purely elevated train on tires rather than tracks and wheels. This was to allow the train to follow a helical path around a loop to get up onto and over a high bridge called the rainbow bridge. As we saw later in the evening, it's called that because of the shape, not because they light it up as such every night. That's for holidays, apparently.
Arriving, we saw the crowds around team labs, but Jae led us to a shop that nobody seemed to know about, which housed a lady taking orders for vegan ramen in front of a curtain. We ordered our food and were led inside to a fully mirrored room, which is so very teamlabs if you've ever seen their work. The kitchen was a little slow, so we landed up sitting in this ethereal mirror room in silence a little too long. The ramen was fantastic, however, some of our best yet.
Outside we joined the line as it was our time to enter. The queue was filled with people from all around the world. We were ushered into a first space and told some notes about what was going to happen and to remove our shoes and take them to the lockers. We started the first exhibit without issue and found ourselves walking up a gentle incline covered in warm water falling down from a lit waterfall. While I won't discuss the exhibits in detail, this one with the dark enclosed space and warm heavily chlorinated water (and maybe the sense of discovery), reminded me of good times at a water park called the Thunder Run in Calgary, I think. That was a long time ago but I loved whenever we went there.
There were at least a half dozen large rooms, each with a fabulous immersive art exhibit that you experienced by moving through and interacting with the exhibit, but I struggled to fully enjoy things with the poorly behaved tourists there. Show some flashy blinky lights and a photo op and people's brains just seem to melt our the bottom of their skull. We watched a half dozen people mindlessly wade past multiple attendants with pictographic signs bearing warnings to not go where they all wanted to go, directly into the art piece. I chastised a few people who did the same, right beside me, at times. I know I can't be the defended of rules in all places, that will ruin my experience, but I truly could not help myself with full grown adults who could not understand the concept of not touching plants grown for an art exhibit. Naturally I got all kinds of guff in return, the exact kind of entitled behaviour I would expect. Good grief. I forgive the Japanese for their stiff ways, I prefer the precision and rule following to morons making me be a public bully. It's not like the attendants can do everything, sometimes a bit of public shame is in order.
I liked it, really. I didn't spend the whole time looking for a fight. Just some of it. Less fighty was checking out the full sized Gundam statue a couple of stops back from where we was. The damn thing must have been 20 metres tall, and parts of it transformed! What a surprise, we had no idea, we just saw a big ol' mecha from the train.
After an hour ride back to the apartment (Tokyo sure is big!) Jae had a presentation to work on so Bryce and I went to go see a locals Izakaya that was recommended to us. We walked into the seediest part of Shinjuku, right smack in the middle of the scammiest touts and obviously overpriced bars and found this unassuming looking place with zero English signage at all. So far so good. Inside we found a four storey Izakaya with zero frills and lots of smoking. We were directed to the second floor where we ordered $1.90 drinks and cheap food. Bryce and I got thoroughly drunk in no time as no less than 30 seconds would pass between our order being made on the tablet at our table and the drinks being delivered to our hands. The guy was fast as hell. Two people managed the whole floor and while they weren't smiling at you they moved fast and kept things cheap. We had skewers and sushi and karaage and caramel popcorn with our drinks and despite nothing costing more than a couple bucks each we still racked up a $60 bill. Amazing. Our clothes smell of smoke and I'm never getting over this cold at this rate. Whoops!

The zones correspond to different payouts, making every drop a thrilling wait to see where fortune lands. Despite its simplicity, the game offers a varied experience with features like random multipliers and the ability to adjust the risk level.
The game was launched by Betsolutions on October 2, 2022, featuring a Return to Player (RTP) percentage of 97%. This high RTP is indicative of the game’s player-friendly design, though it’s important to note that specific outcomes are entirely dependent on luck due to the game’s inherent randomness.

Playing Plinko: A Guide

To get started with Plinko, players select their betting position at the bottom of the grid. Upon releasing the ball, it bounces through the pegs, building anticipation with each ricochet. The goal is to have the ball land in your chosen spot to win the corresponding prize.

The low wagering of 10x on the sportsbook bonus and 20x on the casino chip is a highlight. But the high MyBookie minimum deposit of $50 and low amount of 50% means there are bigger promos for smaller initial deposits. A big plus is the lack of restrictions in sports and markets.

Other MyBookie Bonuses

One of the reasons we’ve ranked MyBookie as highly as we have is because of its vast range of promotions outside of the welcome offers. These are all the ongoing offers with no expiration date.

MyBookie Casino Monday Rebate

Every Monday, you can claim up to $100 in rebates for losses in the casino. This is based on 10% of the total losses up to a maximum of $100. The rebate will be applied as a bonus and, as such, restricted to wagering requirements of 40x the balance.

MyBookie Free Spins on Wednesdays

You can use the MyBookie promo code “MBSPINS” every Wednesday when you deposit at least $50 to get 50 free spins. The free spins will be linked to the game of the day in the casino and come with a 1x wagering on any winnings, which are capped at $300.

50% Sports Reload Bonus

Existing players get access to a sports reload bonus worth up to $1,250. Simply enter the promo code “SPORTSRELOAD” to trigger the offer, and it can be claimed with deposits of $100 or more. There is no limit to how many times you can claim, and it comes with a rollover of just 10x.

MyBookie No Deposit Bonus

At the time of writing, currently, there is no MyBookie no deposit bonus on offer.
If this changes, we will update this section with all the relevant information.

MyBookie Loyalty Program

MyBookie has its own VIP section, which is on an invite-only basis for high-rollers or high-volume players. The benefits available in this excellent VIP section include:
  • Dedicated 24/7 VIP support agent.
  • Exclusive range of bonuses that are tailored toward your favorite games.
  • Faster payouts and withdrawal limits of up to $10,000 per week.
  • Rebates and cashback on casino losses of up to $1,000 per week
  • Increased betting limits.
  • Increased range of deposit options and no fees to pay.

Refer a Friend

The refer-a-friend promotion at MyBookie is one of the best that we’ve tested, but there are several moving parts that you need to be aware of. It’s a 200% bonus worth up to $200 based on your friend’s first deposit.
For example, if they open an account and deposit $100+, you get the full $200 bonus. Once the bonus is applied to your account, you will have a 5x total wagering for sports and 40x total wagering for casino. The sports offer is considerably lower wagering than the main welcome offer and reload bonus, generating great value. It’s worth noting that the friend won’t get any of this bonus, but they can claim the welcome offer and trigger this for the referrer.

MyBookie Sportsbook: 9/10

The sportsbook is one of the highlights of MyBookie. It’s where the brand started and has been setting the standard in the industry since its induction in 2014. We will break down each section to highlight why they’ve become as strong as they have.

Sports Markets

Even though MyBookie has a strong US following, it’s got more of an international feel when it comes to market coverage. Sports like tennis, soccer, esports, golf, and boxing have hundreds of markets to bet on daily. The dedicated racing section includes races throughout the US and worldwide, with various futures for majors such as the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.

That being said, NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL are still where most of the markets lie. Coverage is insane with more than 300 prop bets on NFL regular season games to give you an idea of the scope of the sportsbook.
Here’s a look at some of the sports on offer:
  • NFL
  • NHL
  • MLB
  • NBA
  • Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Esports

Odds

MyBookie betting lines are very good on the whole. They are up there with BetOnline and Bovada in terms of consistency, but the lack of MyBookie promotions and bet boosts means you don’t get those one-off industry-best prices that you do at the two operators previously mentioned.
Juice is a little higher than some sites, and although it’s small, when placing exotics and parlay-type bets, you see the difference more than you would with singles. The flip side to this is that horse racing betting and access to the 8% rebate with any of these markets create massive value.

Bet Types

The range of bet types is second to none and likely where MyBookie excels, even over BetOnline, which we rate as one of the best online betting sites. Spreads, moneyline, and totals are the standard markets you get with all sportsbooks, but it’s the prop bet section where MyBookie shines.
To showcase this, from an upcoming NFL game, you’ve access to a ton of alternative handicaps, player to score the first touchdown, highest scoring quarter, winning margin, total field goal distance, and even the coin toss, which makes a handful of the 250+ on offer.

Betting Features

Here’s a range of MyBookie betting features available to you when placing a wager:
  • Live betting: Most games and markets move into the dedicated live betting section. Most come with a match center that includes stats, data, and an overview of what’s happening in the game. Games with higher profiles have more data, but most have decent coverage.
  • Props builder: The props builder allows users to create unique prop bets, including markets from multiple games and sports, into a single parlay. You can use “Build Mode” to create your bets, and there’s no limit to the number or types of bets that can be included.
  • Contests: MyBookie has three different contests you can enter via the sportsbook. These are Squares, Supercontest and Survivor. Each contest comes with a challenge (usually in the form of picking winners from the sportsbook), an entry fee, and a guaranteed prize pool of up to $250,000.

MyBookie Casino: 9/10

A 700+ game casino is the perfect accompaniment to the sportsbook. The online casino lacks a little in terms of design, but it gets the job done in terms of game types and features, as we’ve outlined below.

Game Selection

Games are taken from multiple developers, including Betsoft and Nucleus Gaming, who have the largest casino collection. The ability to favorite games is a nice touch, and the inclusion of demo play means that new users can try before playing for real money.
https://preview.redd.it/0mc9wddk1ewc1.jpg?width=740&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f2f69713c291fd402aabc9cdfb76e94d02f6622
It’s not a hard casino to use by any means, but there’s not a lot of thought about layout or usability, and this would be our only negative. The games just land on the page, and you can scroll through for ages before finding what you’re looking for, with the search function being pretty much obsolete.
That being said, the range of games is excellent. Around 80% is made up of online slots, with a strong showing of table games and multiple variations of blackjack and roulette. It’s worth checking out the “Specialty” section to find games you don’t see all that often, such as Plinko, rocket dice, keno, bingo, darts, and football manager.

Live Casino

The live dealer casino lobby showcases various games, including roulette, baccarat, blackjack, poker, Super Six, and favorites like Wheelbet. A nice feature is that you can see all of the table max and min bets before you sit and the number of players currently sitting for games where it’s multiplayer. If you’re playing for social interaction, this is a great feature.

Casino Features

A lack of features, some would say, hinders the casino, but with the range of games on offer, we think it would be harsh to tarnish MyBookie too much for this. Including demo play and favorites is welcomed, but the fact that the search function isn’t linked to the casino is poor.
To finish on a high, all games are accessible via the mobile casino on Android and iOS, where you can register a new account, redeem MyBookie bonus codes and clear your bonus.

MyBookie Poker

At the time of writing there is no online poker room for MyBookie. However, given how fast the brand is moving and expanding, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see one feature in the future.

MyBookie Payment Methods: 9/10

MyBookie has a strong range of payment methods. The best way to bank with them is to use crypto, as it’s free and fast. But more traditional methods such as Visa, Mastercard, and Wire Transfers can be used for depositing and withdrawing.
Payment Method Deposits Withdrawals Fees Payout Speed
Visa N/A N/A
Mastercard N/A N/A
Bitcoin Free 1 Business day
Money Transfers N/A N/A
Wire Transfers $15 for $100 to $500; $35 for $501 to $5,000 5-7 days
Checks N/A N/A
ACH Transfers N/A N/A

MyBookie Design and User Interface: 7/10

The design and user interface for MyBookie is one of the very few brand negatives. It’s got a strong black, white, and orange theme going, and it looks dated, especially online.
We do like the range of menus they include, especially breadcrumbs, as it means you can jump back to one menu without going to the start. But even things like the search box don’t work that well, which would be ideal for use within the casino to find games of choice. As it is, you’ve got to scroll through hundreds if you’ve not previously saved them.
BetOnline is a great example of a site that has moved with the times, and its very recent redesign has allowed it to challenge the likes of Bovada (best for design and UI) in this category. We wouldn’t be surprised to see MyBookie follow suit in the future.

MyBookie Desktop Experience: 7/10

Probably the least optimal way to use the site is via desktop. The small font, long menus, and lack of a working search function make it harder than it should be.

MyBookie App and Mobile Experience: 8/10

Currently, there is no dedicated MyBookie app (or a separate sports or casino app) available for download. However in time, we hope to see the launch of a MyBookie app for Android and iOS. But don’t let this deter you as you can still easily use and access the platform on any device including Android and iOS via your mobile web browser.

MyBookie Customer Support: 10/10

One of the best customer support teams in the industry is available at MyBookie. The team is on hand 24/7, and there are no robots or AI, just real humans accessible via live chat.
  • 24/7 customer support

Licensing & Responsible Gambling: 10/10

MyBookie is licensed by the Curacao Gaming Commission. They are one of the largest gaming commissions in the world and oversee a range of sportsbooks and casinos currently accepting US-based players.
The site’s role in responsible gambling has been impressive to observe. They have multiple fears and tools in place to spot those who need help and provide the players with the help they need. These features include:
  • Deposit limits
  • Cooling off periods
  • Self exclusions
  • Account closures
  • Time-outs

MyBookie – Our Verdict: 9.0/10

MyBookie has one of the best packages when it comes to promotions. Not only are you able to access sports, casino and cash offers, but you’ve multiple reload bonuses, rebates and an exclusive VIP section.
Bonuses are defined by their T&Cs, with MyBookie having some of the most accessible. Wagering requirements, expiry dates, minimum deposits and max bets are very user-friendly.
In terms of a package, the sportsbook and casino at MyBookie are superb. It’s coverage, range of games and range of payment options ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of players and are just a handful of reasons why we’ve given them a 9.0 rating.

2024.04.18 20:44 hesapalmak Im making a goldfish gambling token, tell me if I’m an idiot or a genius

FI$H gambling token
Tell me if this is the dumbest crypto utility you have heard of
I was with my buddies the other night, deep into a heavy night of beers and we went down a rabbit hole.
We’re all pretty avid gamblers, a few of the crew have programmed some gambling games before (plinko, hi/lo); we were challenging each other to come up with the most ridiculous (functional) gambling game that we could think of.
We went back and forth and finally ended up on a binary betting game involving a goldfish
This is the basic rundown of the game concept
- A single goldfish in a fish tank that has a vertical line down the middle of it
- You place a bet on Left or Right
- 60 second timer
- At the beginning of the timer we drop some fish food into the tank
- The fish swims around the tank
- Whatever side of the line the fish is on at the end of the timer wins
It’s basically your standard heads or tails, high low, red or black style betting system but dictated by the randomness and stupidity of a goldfish instead of a roulette wheel or a random number generating algorithm
The morning after that drinking session we all reconvened to figure out if our drunken stupor actually held up as a betting platform.
We figured out the backend systems to make it work, the image recognition that’ll automate the results (basically detecting ‘object present’ on one side or the other and triggering the win on either left or right), and the viability of it as an entertaining game.
Where does the profit come from? You’re correct in thinking that there’s no house edge on a purely binary betting game controlled by a fish, so we’ll take a small % fee on bets. As well as the losing games of course.
The betting is done in our native token so every time someone loads up credit (swapped for Solana) it reflects as a buy on the chart. The more players the more the chart pumps.
I’d love nothing more than to hang out with my friends and place bets on a fish, all of us screaming at it like it’s the front runner in the Olympic 100m final fuking MOVE YOU FUKING DUMB FISH MOOOOOVE
With the Solana meme coin surge we decided that since we have a skilled and experienced team we should try make it a reality.
Over the last 2 weeks we’ve been building the website and games mechanics of the betting system and have a beta version ready with wallet connect, balance etc.
We’re having a presale soon and have setup a bunch of daily tasks that give you points (will turn into tokens to be airdropped at launch) as well as free bets.
Here’s all the info about the project
Website: www.solfishtank.com
Telegram: t.me/solfishtank
Twitter: x.com/solfishtank
We’re keen to hear some feedback on this because it seems to have the ingredients for a successful meme and actually bring a profit driving utility to a crypto token.
Thank you

2024.04.04 19:55 viaismikkar Spending $5k on a final build?

Hey buildapc fam, I just hit the jackpot (gambling, lol, shoutout plinko on Stake US)and I'm itching to spend up to 4-5k on a PC that's gonna be my ultimate setup.
I want to dive deep into 4K gaming, do some VR, and maybe even dabble in some streaming.
Been eyeing specs like the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, XFX RX 7900 XT, paired with an MSI PRO B650-S mobo. Thinking this combo will crush 2560x1440, VR, and leave me some wiggle room for future-proofing. Leaning towards packing it with 32GB DDR5 (should it be 64gb?), a 1TB WD Black NVMe SSD, and an 850W PSU to keep it juiced. Spotted another sick build with the same CPU, an RX 7800 XT, switching up with an ADATA 1TB SSD and a 750W Thermaltake PSU. What do y'all think? Any recommendations or should I flip the script with a different setup to max out my gaming and streaming dreams? Let's build something wild.

2024.03.20 22:19 JarvisLandry14 Minors S32 Muper Ball ATS

Hello all,
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_Zlcpdbx133L-jIqyDwhjp7TdBlYORot4ZoJKH6IKcg/edit?usp=sharing
We are in the final round of the mLTP playoffs, and coos has jumped into the lead.
- The lead is a commanding over 2nd place Button, nearly 7 points.
- waterwheel falls to 5th, missing on both games. A brutal week for the former king.
- bbb is out of the basement, jumping to 10th.
- A clear divide between the top 6 and the bottom 6 has formed of 5 points.
- Only coos and Borgus went perfect this week. Coos is on fire. Homie, waterwheel, and Russ get both games wrong.
- The regular season standings have kinda translated to the playoff standings. Notably, Russ went from 5th to 11th. Borgus went from 9th to 6th, and Nameless went from 6th to 3rd.
- 9/22, or 40.91%, of picks were for the underdogs this week, pretty in line with the season long trend.
- 10/22, or 45.45%, of picks were correct this week, finally a week under 50% (but barely).
- Despite there being only 9 points remaining, 5/12 participants can still claim first place for the season long standings. Obviously, coos controls his own destiny, and will secure first place by getting the pick correct. Behind him, no one else is tied for total points, so each person will have to hope that they get the pick right and everyone else above them gets it wrong if they want to win. With such an even matchup, I would not expect that to happen.
- But, we can make an educated guess on how the top guys will pick in this matchup by looking at season long trends. Coos and Nameless picked WTP 5 times this season. Button picked them 6 times. However, coos has picked HBO 8/9 times this season, and Nameless only 4/9 times. Button comes in close to coos at 7/9. Both teams have been favored in every matchup they play, but obviously one will have to be the underdog this time. Will coos and Button continue their HBO-friendly picking? Nameless' picks are totally up in the air.
- HBO is tied with MRV for having the top record ATS this season, with an impressive 6-3 mark. WTP sits at an even 4-4.
- Despite losing the series, HGB won the cap diff outright by 1. HBO's clobbering of MRV marks the first time MRV has lost ATS by more than 1 capture.
- 93 picks have involved a WTP matchup this season. 59 of those, or 63.44%, have gone to WTP.
- 104 picks have involved an HBO matchup this season. 73 of those, or 70.19%, have gone to HBO. We can expect slightly more people to pick HBO.
- I don't know if people care enough to do this, but if you want, you can DM me your pick so that other participants don't know who you're choosing.
- All this guessing can give us a good sense of what people are going to do, but there's only one way to find out for sure.
That being said, let's get into the spread for the Muper Ball.
HBO (-1.5) vs WTP
Jarvis' Corner:
- Wow. What a close, intense, predictable matchup. I went back and forth on who to even favor for this. The clear powerhouses of this season of mLTP, like last season, dominated all season and advanced to the championship. So what went into making HBO the slight favorite? Well, first of all, SOMEONE had to be the favorite. I can't just do a pick'em in case the teams tie, then that would be such a lame ending to ATS. I don't even know myself who I think is going to win the series. So, I gave HBO the slight favoring because 1. They seem to have more blowout wins (although not by much) 2. Flaccid is playing in the series 3. HBO has the best ATS record 4. HBO just dismantled MRV and 5. People like HBO slightly more than WTP. I mean, WTP just won a series and lost the cap diff. Regardless, at the end of the day, people are just going to pick the team that they think is going to win the series overall. I doubt that moving the spread from 2.5 to 1.5 to .5 would change more than 1 person's pick. Will the series come within 3 captures? I would say there's a good chance, but someone who thinks HBO is going to win the series is not going to see a spread of 1.5 captures and then change to WTP. I don't need anyone's validation to be confident in my spread making, but I figured I would explain my reasoning since it is the biggest game of the season.
- I am very surprised that HGB hung with WTP for 7 games and almost won. Something is up with those 3-1 leads in competitive tagpro. It seems like all the time this shit happens. Two overtime wins, and one was nearly 10 minutes long? Jesus christ. I wish I had seen that. I didn't watch like any of the series. I saw G1 and part of G2 of HBO, and most of G7 of WTP. That's peak competitive tagpro. 10 minute games are draining, and then you nearly double that. But in the end, the better team deserved to win. I am happy that weird Gleg/jazz sorcery didn't cause HGB to vault into the Muper instead of the clearly stronger WTP squad. I had HGB ranked 3rd preseason, so the end result is not completely out of left field. Shoutout to them for clutching up so many times, but it finally fell short. I just noticed that Werth did not grab in game 7. It should've been my team playing in this series!
- I am also surprised that HBO put away MRV so convincingly. A domination by a team that was projected to do much better than their opponents in the preseason. Big props to MRV for making it this far. Clearly not a fraudulent appearance either, they were a strong and steady force all season. Everyone, including me, had them near the bottom of their rankings, and yet they performed quite well. However, HBO is an explosive beast that will feast on teams who cannot compete with them mechanically. We've seen plenty of blowout wins by them. Even playing without their captain and 2nd best player, they coasted to the Muper. The two teams that deserved to be in this game are in this game, which is great.
- Seems like WTP minors is always really good. Can we just make the brothers permanent majors and not have to worry about this anymore?
- i'm a goat had a very strong week, tearing apart the formidable MRV defense for a bunch of captures, hold, 2 way stats, and powerups. He's your Offensive Player of the Week.
- Omni put up quite good numbers on tagpro.eu in these matchups, with high levels of defensive stats, a clear 2 way impact, and a lot of powerups. He's your Defensive Player of the Week.
- The matchup of the week is WTP-HBO. The only matchup for the week, all eyes will be on this one.
- I don't know if it is legislatively the best solution to the problem that the U.S. government is trying to solve, but I want them to ban TikTok anyways. It's so fucking stupid. This app has the cringiest, dumbest, brain-numbing videos ever. We went to this gas station with milkshakes and ice cream and these fuckers were playing these idiotic video and dying laughing over them for like 20 minutes. Their primary source of entertainment was some girl who would like do carvings in wood or something as someone called in and said something memey and continued a conversation from that. Like, what are we doing as a society? This shit is so fucking dumb, and doesn't actually help anyone or anything. Banning TikTok for national security purposes is something I'm not educated enough about on the technical/data collection elements of to evaluate its merits, but purely for the chance to get rid of the content on TikTok, I want it BANNED.
- Also, Roblox and mobile games are stupid. One of my friends was "playing" this game where these money figures would fall onto a pinball/plinko-like board where each peg was a trampoline and each time it hit a trampoline the value would increase and jump up on the board until it fell to the bottom and went to the bank. There's no controls besides hitting the restart button every time the round happens. What the fuck is this? This is what is actively ruining society. Then they go to the lounge and the 4 of them start playing Roblox and these dumb mini games with weird looking characters and weird minigames. The one where it gives a category and you have to give the longest word that is in that category is like kinda interesting at face value, but the minimal amount of categories and the inconsistency of evaluating responses ruined it. You know, Tagpro might look dumb to the casual onlooker, but compared to the shit that these people are playing, it's not even at the same level.
- We were debating the merits of learning valuable information/lessons from fictional content. My position is that while considering the age/mental capacity of the viewer and the complexity of the concepts being displayed, in general, mature individuals should not rely on fictional content to learn real information. If a 3 year old learns how to count from some Disney show, wonderful. But using the Barbie movie to learn anything of value about gender inequality? Cmon. Fictional movies/shows/whatevers are just what some random person thought would be cool. If you want to ACTUALLY learn about gender inequality, watch a real documentary. Find some facts from reliable sources. Read relevant books and articles. DON'T watch fictional movies. Is this a crazy opinion? All my friends seemed to think so. Sure, fictional content can have some entertainment value, and I'll occasionally watch fictional things for that purpose. But to learn anything of value? I find it a bit absurd to say that fictional content can do that for us adults.
- Disney songs are also horrible. They kept playing Victorious soundtracks and they love Determinate. I can't deal with them.
- I made my schedule for next semester and finalized it with my advisor. We are looking good academically.
- Even though yesterday was the first day of spring, it's snowing in Oswego. A little abnormal, but not completely weird. I kind of like it. But HOLY SHIT. THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE YOUTH OF TODAY. People are weak af. Why is everyone bitching about the weather? You chose to come here. Yes, we get lake effect. Yes, we get cold temperatures. Yes, we get high winds. IT'S UPSTATE NEW YORK NEAR A HUGE LAKE. What do you expect? I am so fucking tired of people being like ohh I can't walk 4 minutes to this building because it's too cold and snowy or ohhh this is so bad I need to go 8 minutes to this class I hate it out here. Fucking deal with it. It's not even that bad. And the same majority of everyone complains about it. Decades ago, people would walk MILES up hills to get to school and work, and still do in some parts of the world. I'm sure they didn't like to do it, but they did it. Why has the toughness of the general public so drastically decreased? I'm not asking for much, I'm asking for a basic ability to tolerate more abnormal conditions. Seriously.
- People can't read. There's this person on the news who, for 3 weeks in a row, can't speak. Mispronouncing words, mispronouncing names, using wrong verb tenses, not knowing when sentences end, and using weird timings in between words (especially offputting). They claim that the teleprompter is too far away and their glasses are too weak. Well, find a fucking solution then. Make the text bigger. Move the teleprompter closer. Increase the brightness. Get new glasses. It is actually unwatchable. It's comical. It's like this person had no idea what was coming next, even though the next like 10 lines are always up on the teleprompter. Especially since the other people are good, seeing that one individual struggle is just brutal. Also, people need to do better audits of grammar. There's so many sentences that you can deduct the meaning from, but have really awkward wordings and strands of words that should not be together. I'm a newbie in the news industry, but I'm already better than like half of the on-air "talent".
- I went to the post office today to cast my mail-in ballot for Joe Biden in the Democratic primary. Google Maps says it takes 48 minutes to walk there. It took me 32.
- I won't shit on UVA since everyone else already has. I didn't watch that game, and I only saw the end of Howard/Wagner since it was on in the studio. But I'm so hyped to get into March Madness. I'm a little disappointed that I know of a few conflicts I am going to have that will talk away many hours of my viewing experience. I've always been able to watch the games at home with no interruptions, but now I'm going to have to skip out on many good games to do other stuff, which will be fun, but I want both.
- Speaking of which, a reminder to join the bracket challenge. https://fantasy.espn.com/tc/sharer?challengeId=240&from=espn&context=GROUP_INVITE&edition=espn-en&groupId=4c9e5f86-f090-4a55-84d4-b8b44e14c6a6&joinKey=2426c837-c53c-343d-90da-73a5ac569a3e PASSWORD IS: MinorsATS#32
- The additional sports prediction of the week is Florida defeats Marquette in the round of 32, and Gonzaga makes the Elite Eight.
- I'm going to post a bunch of season-wide stats next week. I'm not sure exactly what yet, but if anyone has anything they would like to see analyzed numerically, lmk.

2024.03.19 22:56 blueberrrypalm All gambling websites feel the same. What if we made a new game, exclusive to r/gambling?

Hey everyone, long-time lurker of the sub, but figured I'd make my first post.
It feels like every single gambling site (roobet, stake, etc) is basically the same website, just with a different domain lol.
I don't know about you guys, but to me, this takes the entire excitement around gambling away. I want to play on a website that feels social, feels like I'm gambling with my friends and having a good time.
I'm a skilled software developer, so I've challenged myself to see if I can make my own betting game just for this subreddit gambling
I want to start off by recreating an existing game that I am familiar with before I create an entirely new game from scratch (that could take months)
I want you guys to vote below on what game you'd like to see innovated:
In addition to that, I would like for you guys to comment on what unique features you think should be added. I'm open to ideas. Don't hold back. I'm only down to do this if we all build this together as a community lol. It will be degenerate, but fun.
Here are some proposed features

It's a small chemistry game in which you combine different bricks to create new things, like Cube Combination. If you unlock the plots, you have access to an LT2-styled building system where you can build many things, ranging from calculators to plinko machines. I would like some feedback on it. Have fun!

2024.01.24 18:55 NeonRollingPapers Looking for Suggestions and Projects for Kids Ages 8 to 14.

I run a kids education makerspace and we focus on upcycling, nature conservation and we would like to run a Solarpunk program. We are finding it challenging to come up with projects within this theme appropriate for 8-14yrs. Our goal is to education and build skills that help the next generation understand this movement and be inspired to creative for it. We will be building terrariums, a community garden, and living wall. We are asking for donations of calculators to use the little solar panels...haven't settled on the exact project for this, but doing something with solar panels.
We're looking through Pinterest, youtube, reaching out to eco-conscious communities...but most projects are geared towards adults. Any help would be great! Thanks :)
Edit: Holy moly! I was not expecting this much feedback! Thank you everyone!
So as an addition to this summer program we are also hosting a 'slow fashion' course that teaches how to mend, hem, patch - taking what clothes you have and keeping them in good condition or level them up. Then we are doing an Upcycled Arcade camp - using recycled materials to make foosball, airhockey, pinball, plinko etc type of games.
I've also been playing Alchemist learning about natural dying processes. Our BEE the Change program does natural dye tie-dying...we will keep this project in our eco-programs. I'm so happy to see other suggest the mending, natural dying and native plant conservation suggestions!

2024.01.16 11:49 stupid-piss Casino Game Developers

Hi all I am trying to build a Plinko game on my site and am looking for advice/support from a game developer. I want to know whether the decision on where the ball lands should come from the backend or whether the decision will always come from the frontend.
I have made the game but am having a lot of issues and complaints from users about balls getting stuck (i am using matter.js and there seems to be a lot of issues because things change in matter.js when you use a different browser or different PC)
I think i am going to have to rebuild most of the frontend of the game. It would be great to find someone to help me

2024.01.09 02:37 hellobritt Tutorials for Kindergarden and 1st grade students (ages 5-6)

I am teaching an after-school cardboard construction class to a group of K and 1st grade students. I have a few ideas of some projects, but I don't know how much I can realistically accomplish in ~45min.
The first class is Wednesday, and I was thinking about creating a plinko-marble run type of thing just as a group project to get everyone some experience building something. Some other ideas for future classes are design a rocket, build a favorite animal, build a mini-town, and design a board game.
I might have to pre-cut some shapes just to have enough time in class to construct these things. I've looked at "Cardboard Construction for Kids!" by John Umekubo, Makedo, and some stuff on Pinterest, but I was hoping that the knowledgeable people here might have some links to some good tutorials that a K & 1st grade student would be able to follow. Thank you

2023.11.20 11:01 King_Sybbyl Twitch Integrated Games [Or mods!]

Now starting off I know this has been done before, but I could only find two threads and they were both far too old to necro and barely had anything on them.
I plan on keeping this one updated and want to build a nice, juicy list, waaaaay longer than the threads I've read before, so I feel that warrants me being able to repost this topic.

This is a hopefully eventually comprehensive list of every game I can find that has twitch integration, or has mods that offer twitch integration, including games that are made purely *for* twitch integration or games that only work while streaming live. The list will start with games I have personal experience with but I will also update it with any suggestions from comments.

mods = requires mods to integrate with twitch asset = Not *really* a game, and more like an extra asset that's fun, something you can add to your stream, rather than something *to* stream
