I had a customer coming to POC yesterday she had a $30 Kohl's cash and when I scanned it it said the cash was not activated now I had already got in two previous Kohl's cashes from different customers with the same issue those ones were increments of 10. Because they were not expired because they came in on the right dates you know we did the yes we can policy because this last one was a bigger amount than 10 I called the h2 on the walkie to let her know that this is a reoccurring issue and because of communication with the walk is very choppy back and forth instead of coming up so I can show her what's going on she asked me you know can you explain it to me on the walkie so I did. I mentioned to her you know I'm going to do the the yes we can but it's something that's happening more than once. From there kept cashing out the customer, I tried looking up the coupon on her rewards she could not remember her password to get into her app and I went through her emails and could not find it. The H2 came up at some point near the end of to he transaction and she was more bent out of shape that I honored it and that I said I was going to honor it on walkie without her full okay but at the end of the day that was what they were going to do, and she asked me to say it on the walkie. She kept repeating herself and cutting me off if I tried to explain what happened. Truthfully I mainly called her up to let her know that it was a reoccurring issue not for her to fix anything. Was I honestly in the wrong because I don't feel like I was. You know often I'm left with a long line by myself and barely any support to begin with In all the years I've never had anybody tell me that I had to wait before I did anything not in that kind of situation. If it's an expired cash and they're having a fit about it I call them up so the manager can handle it, this one was not activated properly she is an older woman and she is a regular. Her order was still almost $200 even with the adjustment and I took the physical copy of the Kohl's cash. I also had an issue with her earlier in the night were customer was already having really angry I deescalated the previous situation in front of main manager , main manager walked away and boom this previously angry woman's receipt didn't print. The computer rebooted I looked up her transaction number it shows that it was paid for, I had watch her balance go to zero and freeze with printing her receipt. The ladies coming back for her receipt today and the H2 I had a bad night with ended up printing out the receipt after the customer left I was right it was paid for but throughout the whole night as she's trying to find the merchandise credit and all that stuff she's going back and forth saying I bet she didn't pay for that stuff or it didn't go through. But I looked up the transaction number and we had this woman waiting such a long time that she was getting angry all over again. I'm just frustrated right now.

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone else is dealing with this issue and if it’s fixable. I’m in a LDR so I’m always sleeping on my phone with my fiancé on the discord app. When I join the call and change my audio settings to my speaker instead of my iphone, it mutes me automatically. If an alarm goes off on my phone, it mutes me, if I get connected to bluetooth, it mutes me. I think I unmuted myself 5 times during my sleep last night because of my alarms, its actually really annoying lol. I have been using the app for the last 3 years consistently the way I do now and it’s only happening now. Help???

You can't guarantee others that one day they'll finally be happy + when It comes to social interactions - We're responsible only for ourselves - not others & as you guys know people let us down quite often (sometimes even when there's no reason) so instead of telling people how they should move on, forget everything and be happy or asking them to find a therapist - be there for them! Hello! I've come across a few posts here detailing a similar scenario and I'm posting mine on the off chance (and out of desperation) that someone now has a solution or success story:
I have been using the Adobe suite for at least 16 years — I bought CS4 as a disc when it came out in 2008. For the past few years, I've been fortunate to have an Enterprise account through my membership with a local organization.
I use these programs daily for my work. I am still logged in on my desktop Creative Cloud account, as well as on my Chrome + Safari browsers. I haven't changed my password, and it is saved on all devices.
I recently got a new iPhone and transferred all data over. Two days ago, I opened Lightroom mobile and was prompted to login — typical of having a new phone. Turns out, I have 2FA enabled and noticed an old phone number listed. I have two verified emails with my Adobe account so I selected this option, received the code, pasted it, and it was accepted. Then it makes me choose another way to verify. Since the phone number is deactivated, I select the Adobe Account Access app. When I reached the app, I received a message that "Adobe reset my password" and I'd need to make a new one to continue.
And this becomes my endless loop: while I had access to two verified emails and the authenticator app, now I don't because adobe reset my password. And there is an old phone number associated with the account.
As many of you have detailed: according to Adobe, despite 16+ years with my account, the only solution is to make a new account. This seems so bizarre to me that there aren't other ways to verify, or that a specialist is unable to access my account to either change the phone number or reset the password for me.
Again, I'm still logged in on the desktop Creative Cloud and the browsers. I can see all my account info, and even click buttons to either "remove phone number" or "change phone number" or "change password" but I'm then prompted to login again and can't move forward. And since I use these programs daily for work, I'm scared to logout.
One Enterprise specialist I spoke to yesterday suggested that I do a conference call with an enterprise support agent, myself, and the IT or admin of the Enterprise account of the organization that I'm part of. I'm not sure why this would have been suggested right after telling me it's not possible to access my account and I should make a new one. I know that admins of Enterprise accounts can choose to enable/disable 2FA for everyone, but I don't know that that would help or even be applicable to my issue. Another question: by chance would the Enterprise admin have access to the phone number associated with my account and change this detail on their end? I certainly did not give them this number as it had long been deactivated before I joined the Enterprise account, but perhaps it still shows up? I also don't want to waste their time doing a conference call if there is nothing they can do to help.
In sum: it is mind blowing to me that I didn't have any prior issues accessing my account, despite the old phone number, because my password is saved, I have two verified emails, and had access to the Adobe Account Access app. But because ADOBE reset my password, and I can only receive verification emails, I now have to make a new account?! There has to be another way!

First of all, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you. The past few months have been incredibly troubling for us all, but you guys have made it easier to find my way through it. The community and the podcast will always hold a special place in my heart. For three and a half years I have worked as a mod of FUCKFACEPOD to build a thriving community of comment leavers. In that time we have done incredible things together.
We left our mark on Place in 2022, we held meetups at RTX, the mod team even tried streaming for Extra Life one year. And when the company was closing down around us, and we moved to a new subreddit, we quickly built a brand new space full of the same joy and humor that defined the old subreddit. However... this will unfortunately be my last stop.
It is with deep sorrow that I tell you all that I have been removed from the moderation team of this subreddit. After three and a half years, I will no longer be a moderator here for subreddit. I am so incredibly proud of this community and how far we have come. I will be forever grateful to the podcast, and to all of you for the memories and the laughter you guys gave to me.
But this isn't goodbye forever. I'll still be hanging around the subreddit as a regular ol comment leaver. I also will continue to moderate for SoAlrightPod so go check out that place. I will also continue modding for roosterteeth at least for now, though I do plan on leaving that one soon.

To ANEGGG I say thank you. I cannot overstate the impact Rooster Teeth has had in my life. From my very first Achievement Hunter video in 8th grade, to the final episode of the Rooster Teeth Podcast. • January 2021: u/Johnathan_Wickerino, creator of FUCKFACEPOD invites myself and three other mods to help him run the expanding subreddit.
• November 12th 2021: Myself, another mod, and a couple community members host F**kers & Flagons, a DND Extra Life stream. We raise $500.
• April 1st 2022: Place opens it's doors once more. While the Discord server is playing an April Fools prank by rebranding to a Face Jam server, the subreddit is working to build the F**k Face logo on the canvas.
• April 2022: A few weeks after Place, we celebrate the 100th episode of F**k Face.
• June 2022: FUCKFACEPOD Crosses 10,000 members. We celebrate by inviting people to play Halo Infinite. This was originally supposed to be a tournament, but due to lack of participation we just screwed around in custom games for a few hours. Thank you to Andrew Panton for joining us for the occasion.
• July 1st 2022: RTX opens it's doors in Austin for the first time since COVID. Through masks and face shields, we come together as a community once again. One of the other mods Trix hosts a community meetup outside the convention center which Geoff shows up to.
• January 2023: The first draft of many is released. We all gather round to listen to the Falls Draft.
• April 2023: The very first live Sloppy Joes Bingo takes place late at night on RTTV
• July 7th 2023: Nobody knows it yet, but this will be the final RTX. This year is my first and only year as a Guardian. While walking on the convention floor, Eric calls me over and asks me for a pen. As I hand him the pen I tell him who I am. When he's done signing autographs and taking pictures, he hands me a huge stack of baseball cards with his face on them and tells me to do as I will with them. I spend the whole weekend passing them out to people. When I get home I mail the leftovers out to 43 people.
• July 9th 2023: As Trix hosted the meetup last year, I host it this year. This year was thankfully indoors and out of the Texas sun. Two community members come to the meetup with bootleg golden gurplers and start passing them out to people. Another member brings a F**k Face Summer of 98 Yearbook which all of us happily sign.

• March 6th 2024: If this were to happen one week later I'd be able to make a "Beware The Ides Of March" joke. It is on this day that we learn that Rooster Teeth is being shut down.
• May 11th 2024: After two months of housekeeping and negotiations, Rooster Teeth is finally dead. Many of it's podcasts are now going independent, while others are forced to rebrand.

Goodbye

Stayed at a hotel early this month. I booked through an app called Hopper. Upon arriving they told me they hadn’t received payment so I didn’t have a room until I did pay. I ended up paying twice as I couldn’t get support from Hopper as they use an American number and I don’t have calls outside the UK. I was told it would be fine as I would get my refund when they receive the second payment. I didn’t expect to be able to get one through hopper.
It’s nearly been a month since and I’ve been chasing this refund and getting nowhere.
I returned a week after my first stay to stay again. The same guy on the desk told me he was going to help with the refund by calling up OYO and seeing what he can do. I didn’t hear anything beyond that. He also gave me his managers number but she has been on leave so I haven’t been getting through. She was supposed to be back today but I still can’t get through to her. I’ve been calling the hotel desk but until this Sunday I haven’t been getting through.
On Sunday though I spoke to a different person on the desk. He told me it was my fault for booking through hopper and that I’d need to get my refund through them. I was obviously outraged, how is it possibly my fault for booking through an app they have been listed on? Eventually the guy came around and said he was going to try to help but have since heard nothing.
I needed this money back the first time I visited and it’s been a month and I’m still not even sure if my refund is being processed. Is there anything I can do to make them pull their fingers out and do what they should’ve done weeks ago? I’m pretty appalled at OYO for this whole situation and now can’t afford to eat because a hotel can’t process a refund?
Edit: So I just called the hotel again and spoke to the same person on the desk that took my payment on the first visit. He now says that the hotel has never been able to take payments through Hopper. I told him how ridiculous that was. If that was the case then why was the hotel still listed on there? Obviously he doesn’t have the answers because he only works th desk but apparently that came from OYO management. The last thing I want to do at this point is go through hopper. Even if I could, I shouldn’t have to whatever has happened should be settled between them and the hotel.

I was checking to see if anyone had any issues with this particular credit union? Yesterday i put in my order and when i get to the loan application part it give me 2 options - loan with alliant and self-arranged loan. I select Alliant which kicks me over to their website and i start the application process. Seemed a little off though They asked what kind of loan i wanted and there was an option for the tesla loan but the next set of questions made it seems like the credit union wasnt trully connected with tesla. They were asking me how big of the loan i need when i would think if i'm requesting a loan through tesla they would pass on the information to whatever company was taking the loan. to get to the point - 1/2 way through putting in information the screen refreshes and says the application was closed due to being denied. The tesla app however saying i'm pending. I called the tesla rep associated with my account and he said it just shows pending on his side and to basically wait a day or 2 to see what happens. I have an 803 credit score, make 75k a year and just my current mortgage and auto loan. I'm in the process of selling my current vehicle to pay off the auto loan but everyone i spoke with says you should still get the approval as i have great credit history and no additional debt.
I have seen the recommendations to email [autofinance@tesla.com](mailto:autofinance@tesla.com) if we have issues but i was going to give at least 24-48 hours before i start pressin.
thoughts on this? any recommendations.? Anyone have any issues with this credit union as well?

I know It's possible to meet people with exactly the same expectations as mine but It's just not easy because most people are Interested In temporary and entertaining conversations. I met a guy yesterday in a public parking lot to sell him a few items for only $30. He negotiated price before and upon meeting seemed genuine. I was in a bit of a rush for my next meeting and loaded the stuff in his car first and then asked for the money.
He pulled out his phone and it seemed like a legit banking app. He used Zelle and transferred $30 to me and it said it worked on his phone. It’s been 24 hours and still nothing. He left our conversation on Facebook marketplace within a few hours of the exchange. I called the bank and there’s no record of this transaction.
I’ve tried messaging him directly on Facebook several times but he hasn’t replied. I have his name and face and previous institute (in another country) he’s here on a work visa if I had to guess. I’m sure I could get his plates from surrounding security feed.
Would I even have any recourse? Will the police just laugh because I first put the items in his car? I’m strapped for cash so this sucks but I’m more so pissed that he just got away with it and ghosted me, I despise thieves.
TL;DR: I put items for sale in a buyers car. He appeared to Zelle me the $30, but I never received it. He’s ghosted me and I can’t help but feel it was an intentional scam. What should I do?

Hopefully you might be able to offer a little macOS scripting insight to a Linux guy roped into this environment :). I've been working on this for about a week now with mixed success and since I'm the only person in the place who knows bash it's time to ask for help from the internet lol
I'm currently trying to get a script working that uses BIG RAT's tool called Mobile To Local from here(Version 2.6.1: https://github.com/BIG-RAT/mobile_to_local
I want my users to be able to opt into in themselves via the Self Service and ideally with 1 click on the install button, get their currently logged in account converted to a Local Account.
I have tested my script on 6 machines(4 are VM's in UTM) with various versions from Big Sur to Sonoma and it's successful on 5 of them, converting the logged in user no problem with a single click of the Install button from Self Service except for my M1 Mac Studio with my own personal account. Upon editing my script to spit out the variable containing the user who is running the script as a notification, on the other machines it returns my test users username or on one of them my own username(a physical iMac) but on the problem Mac Studio where again my personal account it logged in it actually returns the user as root instead of myself.
How can I include logic in the script to run it as the logged in user all the time but still retain the required elevated permissions without needing to add any additional steps like prompting the user for their password for example?

Sidenote 1: I included logic to check that the logged in user was a Secure Token enabled user because I ran into an issue where if Filevault was enabled on the machine and the logged in user was not Secure Token enabled, their account would convert ok but their password would not log them in until an admin resets it locally.
Sidenote 2: The whole reason we want local accounts is to use Apples Kerberbos SSO extension via our VPN to keep passwords synced as the boss doesn't want to spend any money on a solution like Jamf Connect for example.

I not sure if this story belong her or in AITA. Lets start with a bit of background. I work for a very big company but due to my speciality my work is split across the main company and one of the smaller companies. The MD of the main company allows my days to be split in half. The big company is very laid back when it comes to my work. As long as my work is done by the deadline date, they pretty much don’t care what I do during the work week. In the smaller company I report to the C-suite but the CEO. Lets call the CEO, RA ‘cos the sun doesn’t rise until he gets out of bed. RA is most interested in what I do during the day. If I didn’t know better I’d say that RA thinks that I don’t work but sit around playing computer games all day. RA send anything 20 – 30 emails to me per day and more than half will be the same question just phrased differently. Each email response is usually anything from 2 – 5 typed pages. I have even had emails sent to me at 11 Pm and at 8:30 the following morning an email asking why I haven’t responded to the previous email. If I am asked the same question multiple times I ignore the majority of the emails and only answer the question once. When I am working I need to concentrate and most days I close my email client so that I’m not disturbed. Last Monday, I’m working quite happily and I get a WhatsApp from asking me to please read an email and respond post haste (to quote RA). I stop what I am doing as I get the sinking feeling that something bad is about to happen. As per usual there are 30 emails from RA. The first email starts off by stating “You must always answer emails as quickly as possible as it is unprofessional and shows disrespect to the writer of the email.” Cue Malicious Compliance I stop what I am doing and start to respond to each email individually making sure that my answers to the same questions are different. I further indicate that I only work for him half day and will stop my work at exactly the middle of the work day. I spend the next day and a half responding to emails and not doing my work, even though there is a deadline looming for RA and his little company. These days when I walk into the office in the morning RA seems to have spent the entire night responding to the emails and in the process dragging other members of staff into the email trail and the email is getting so complex that I don’t know what’s going on. Yesterday, I was expected to have finished RA’s work and when asked to present the outcome, I simply said that I had not finished. When asked why, my response was that I was so busy responding to emails I wasn’t able to do the work. RA lost his mind and started to threaten me with being fired. He said that there was a customer that was waiting for the result of my work. He then asks why was emails put above doing my work and all I did was produce a copy of the email. My Boss from the big company was also present and all she did was laugh. She then told RA that I will no longer do any work for his company and he must find somebody else.

When the app plays these videos, it plays them without ads. How is this possible? I can use Youtube's API, but even then, there's a pretty harsh limit on the amount of calls I can make to it.

My wife and I have been together over 10 years and I've caught her messaging strange men on the Internet more times than I can count. Sometimes, I'd walk into a room from behind her and see the sexual things she was sending through secret accounts in apps, etc. Two times I got her absolutely red-handed to the point where she admitted it, but said it was all people who lived hundreds of away and it was just messages, but then promptly blamed me for supposedly being distant - bare in mind this happened twice.
Over the years, I walked in on her masturbating with a video call on that she gaslights me about happening to this very day. I've caught her taking intimate photos and videos multiple times (I have never received a single one in out decade together).
One time on the way to my grandfather's funeral, her phone qas connected to my cars Bluetooth and I just answered a ring when a call came through it was a man who seemed very confused to be hearing a guys voice on the phone. My wife panicked and ended the call so fast.
I was stupid. I decided that I loved her too much to call it quits. I decided to give it another chance. It took over 5 years to rebuild that trust.
Cut to 3 months ago when my wifes phone wasn't working and she handed it to me to fix it. This is when a picture of a guy and his dick come through her notifications! Then I open it to see that it's coming with an invitation to stay overnight at his house, and he stays in the next town over! My wife lied through her teeth and said he sent that unsolicited, and she didn't know where he lived and that it was all a coincidence. I don't know why I didn't ask for a divorce then and there. I honestly don't.
Last week, my work was pretty quiet (i work from home), so I decided to watch some movies in between the lack of work. I don't have a tv in my office, so I used my wifes tablet. Then some sort of flirty messages start coming through, but nothing I could say was specifically flirting. All the messages had a woman from her works name. Let's just say it's Melanie. Then, thanks to the wonders of the icloud continutity, her iPad starts ringing with this person's name, meaning someone is calling her phone, but I know that this person is in the office with my wife today, and there's no reason to be calling personal mobiles either. My wife has shown me messages from Melanie before, and that's written as "Work- Melanie Andrews," not "Melanie Andrews."
So I opened the messages app on her iPad, and I can see texts going back talking about meeting this persons kids and that they're in bed wishing the my wife was there. She's made a contact for someone else and put Melanie's name on it.
Cut to yesterday, my wife is texting away for hours, closes the app whenever I'm near, suddenly announces out of the blue that her friend Sarah needs her to pick her up from 3 towns over from a repair shop and drive her home and they'll probably just go out to lunch too, so she'll be gone a while.
I dont buy it one bit - Sarah, who has a husband with his own car and needs my wife to do this and drops this news the night before? I'm expected to buy that?
So when my wife went to sleep, I checked her ipad again. She hasn't messaged Sarah in 3 months. There have been no calls to sarah. All Sarah's messages are still there. But you know who's messages have been deleted? "Melanie's"
Today, I asked my wife about when she was going out and why Sarah had dropped this on her so last minute. My wife said sharah hadn't gotten back to her with a time (which she absolutely confirmed to me she had yesterday). My wife ended up leaving the house at 10am, claiming she was going to the doctors and then to call Sarah to meet up and head over - despite telling me not 5 minutes prior that they didn't have a time, and yesterday it was lunch.
She left, so I checked the iPad again. Messages all gone again, but oh look, she's on the phone, and it's not to Sarah - it's to "Melanie." But the call ends quickly it seems whoever she's calling isn't picking up. 3 times my wife tries.
Again , still no calls or texts to Sarah in months.
20 minutes later, my wife is home and says I'm acting weird. Then she says Sarah is calling her, and she runs off upstairs and closes the door. Which would be weird, so I went up after her and asked if everything was okay. She shut the door in my face. Once the call was done, she came down and told me I was acting weird. I questioned the total randomness of what happened over the last day with the changing plans, etc. She said that sometimes she just want to be able tk leave the house and not tell me where she's going because she needs that that she feels trapped etc and that she was just going to cancel on Sarah because I am stopping her from having a life.
My wife basically gaslit the hell out of me to make me the problem.
For the record, I have never had an issue with her going out or spending time with any of her friends. She doesn't go out more, and I worried about her being alone so often. Apparently, she's found a way to cure that loneliness.
I dont know what to do. I mean I know I can't stay with her after this but i don't think I have the courage to admit it or to confront her because the only way to do it is tk admit that I didn't trust her enough and snooped.
I feel betrayed and heartbroken - what do I do?
Edit 2: My wife has just told me that's she's going to arrange to meet Sarah for breakfast instead. Sarah - who works full time and has a husband and a kid with special needs.

I have this script on my desktop that I use every day multiple times for years. Suddenly it stopped working. It closes immediately so I ran it from the Windows 11 cmd prompt and it gives these errors that I don't know what they mean:

Can someone please help me understand what the problem is and why it popped up suddenly after working flawlessly for years?

It's here! The results for the 2024 Fantasy Top Podcasts Poll have been tabulated and we have the results! Before we share those results with you, a quick preamble about participation and how we categorized the podcasts. The original voting thread can be found here.
Participation
In total, 77 people participated in this poll and cast a total of 360 votes for 183 podcasts. That's a big uptick from the last time this poll was undertaken but not as much participation as we'd hoped. The vote spread was remarkably similar to last time but as we suspected, the popular podcasts have changed wildly. For instance, Writing Excuses was the most popular podcast last time with 16 votes and this time it only received one vote.
Only 2 podcast votes were disqualified: 1 for not seeming to be a podcast (not found on any podcast app and it did not describe itself as a podcast on its YouTube channel) and the other was only available on a website that my antivirus software wouldn't let me go to so I couldn't confirm anything about it.
Breakdown
There were 7 main categories of podcast:

• Discussion - for general podcasts where hosts talk about shared interests. This could include news, book discussion, readalongs/watchalongs, lore analysis, and so on. This is the category most people tend to think of when you say "podcast." Readalongs/watchalongs are specifically called out in the list due to their participatory nature.
• Fiction - for podcasts where previously published stories are read aloud often by their author usually without sound effects.
• Audio Drama - podcasts where stories are performed by actors as plays with sound effects. Not everything in this category is is specifically a drama. Some are comedies but audio drama appears to be the catch all term for any story performed for audio.
• TTRPG - a catch all for anything D&D related including actual plays and similar games like Pathfinder.
• Writing - podcasts on writing advice, story creation, and the like.
• Folklore/Mythology - somewhere between Fiction and Discussion, these podcasts bounced between reading, discussion, and history of real world myths and folklore often by people who are experts in their field. This felt different enough from Discussion and Fiction to single out since it did not fit neatly in either.
• Improv - there were a number of podcasts where comedians improvised stories in a fantasy or sci fi world. It wasn't quite fiction and it wasn't quite audio drama so it got its own category.

Fiction and Audio Drama are definitely the blurriest categories. In general, I counted something as audio drama if it had multiple actors and sound effects. This meant that stuff like Night Vale, which is arguably an audio drama, was counted as a fiction podcast since it doesn't have these elements. This decision was partially informed by Night Vale calling itself a fiction podcast instead of an audio drama which helped me figure out where to draw the line using Night Vale as a boundary marker. However this also means that delineations between Audio Dramas and Fiction may not be consistent as I did defer to podcast descriptions if they described themselves as Fiction or Audio Drama.
Our most popular podcast categories in order of most to least popular were:

1. Audio Drama - 62 podcasts Discussion - 62 (17 of the discussion podcasts were watchalongs or readalongs)
2. Fiction - 24
3. TTRPG - 21
4. Folklore/Mythology - 4 Writing - 4
5. Improv - 3

• The most highly voted Audio Drama (as well as most highly voted podcast overall) is the Magnus Archives.
• The most highly voted TTRPG podcast is The Adventure Zone.
• The most highly voted Fiction podcast is Welcome to Night Vale.
• The most highly voted Writing podcast is Worldbuilding for Masochists.
• The most highly voted Improv podcast is Mission to Zyxx (not displayed above because it only got 2 votes).
• The most highly voted Folklore/Mythology podcast is Lore (not displayed above because it only got 2 votes).

A week ago, a family friend sent us a link to a facebook group. The host is a mom of 2 kids (and has a working husband) who sells things like earrings, bracelets, hair accessories, bags, key rings etc on a live stream.
Here are some of the prices: £1.50 for a pair of socks £1.50 for a pair of earrings £3.50 for a furry unicorn pen £0.40 for a hair bobble £1.50 for a necklace £3.50 for a bag £0.75 for a hair clip £1.50 for a spoon with text on it (this is only a small list of the things she sells)
We (mom and me) bought some things and were satisfied until one day my mom gets an ad for an item she bought from the host’s live.
We then download the app that the ad was on, and see a ‘lightning sale’ area and lo and behold all the stuff that she has been selling in the live is there, but significantly cheaper.
These are the prices on the app: £0.94 for 5x pairs of socks £0.17 for a pair of earrings £1.17 for a furry unicorn pen £0.57 for 50x hair bobbles £0.27 for a necklace £1.37 for a bag £0.50 for a pack of 5 hair clips £0.79 for a spoon.
These prices aren’t too different but when you buy in bulk some of the stuff that she sells, it quickly adds up.
In the group there is a woman we’ll call ‘C’. ‘C’ is a BIG contributor to the group and spends £150 at a time on orders. The most recent order makes me feel very bad for her. She bought 115x pairs of socks for £86 from the host. We found the pairs of socks she bought on the ‘lightning sales’ section and they’re there for £0.56 to £0.76 for a pack of 5…
I don’t think ‘C’ knows that she’s being absolutely ripped off. She’s very happy with how “cheap” everything that the host sells is.
The host could easily sell the items for cheaper and still make good profit too. Instead she buys items and then sells them for around 5-8x what she bought them for.
I feel so bad for ‘C’. She’s spent so much money on things she could’ve gotten sooo much cheaper..
The worst thing is that in the lives, the host says things like: “wow this is such a good deal” or “ooh i might keep these for myself” and “more socks for you ‘C’!” She’s also made posts about how she’s been able to afford carpets, sheds and other nice and expensive things out of the money she’s made from the group.
WIBTA for letting ‘C’ know that she could be saving so much money by buying straight from the source?
The only problem i have is that if i let ‘C’ know, the group would probably grind to a halt which would mean no income for the host and her kids from the group. As well as the fact that the host knows our family friend and it might “rock the boat”.
I’m all for people earning money, but i feel like the host is taking advantage of the fact that we don’t know about the app she buys her stock from…

EDIT: Bit of context i forgot to add is that the family friend who told us about was under the impression that the host buys the stuff from amazon mystery boxes. The items being sold look like stuff from local stores (which sell said items for 2x as much) so it looked like a good deal until we realised it was from another place that sells them for 1/8th of the price she sells them from.
I realise that a business needs profit but we’re under the impression that she’s doing this for us and that she’s giving us such good bargains, but in fact we wouldn’t need her. It would be a different story if she was making 2-3x profit but 5-8x can DEFINITELY add up. Considering ‘C’ paid £150 for something that cost £20…
