House Rules and Gardens

2024.05.21 13:32 Jason_Steele4200 House Rules and Gardens

My cousin is having trouble with our apartment complex as they have recently changed their policy on Gardens and plants. She's had trouble with them destroying her garden over the past few years she's lived here every year it seems to be an ongoing battle. I'm not sure if this is needed but we live in Connecticut. The notice she received is as follows: Dear residence we kindly remind everyone of the importance of following our communities house rules. We encourage residents to consider using pots for planting flowers and vegetables this way you can still enjoy your gardening while maintaining the uniform look of the property. We are actively working on installing garden beds and will keep you updated on the progress and invite you to participate once they are launched. The rules outlined in our lease agreement for gardening are as follows. "Section 30 Community appearance: All areas outside the apartment including the lawn area and stairs are to remain free of clutter and debris which would detract from the appearance of the community. Do not store items such as bicycles skateboards plant pots Etc on Entry walkways breezeways hall or stairs at any time. Flowers, shrubs, and vegetables shall be planted only in areas designated by the owneagent." It seems unfair that they could just change rules at a moment's notice she recently grabbed a copy of her updated and it also says "Section 53 changes to House Rules: the owneagent may make reasonable additions or changes to these rules, upon 30 days notice to the resident, and the residents agrees to abide by those additional changes the residents shall be bound by such rescission or change following a 30-day notice communicated to the resident." Doesn't this mean that we're entitled to know about the change before it goes through? Did they go about communicating this the proper way or do you think she has a reason to be upset I figured I'd bring this here because I didn't know what to tell her and I feel like she really needs legal advice that I can't provide.

2024.05.21 13:29 Exact-Sign-7311 I don't want to sell my houses

I buy a house that I want to live in. Smashing walls, building walls, paint, decorate and everything. Finally "moving in" (putting my office there). And then: a new house to buy pops up or I get bored by the current one.
Repeat
Think about selling on of the old homes but then I remember that this or that room was sooooo nice and the garden of another one turned out so relaxing. And what about the huuuuge garage in THAT house?
Right now, I own 5 houses for myself and I am emotionally not able to sell one of them.
Anyone with me?

It's become a long-recognized fact in boxing, 'You can run, but you can't hide'.
Giuliani found this out the hard way when he was served papers for his treasonous behavior when he tried to have Trump installed as President despite losing the election.
Now the rest of the chickens are coming home to roost.
One by one the despots of Arizona and their co-conspirators are being dragged into court to account for their crimes --trying to overthrow the government of the United States -- and so the judicial process continues.
These seditionists ran and hid behind lawyers, hid behind MAGA in the House of Representatives, hid behind the very tyrant, Trump, but to no avail.

PHOENIX (AP) — Former Arizona Republican Party chair Kelli Ward and at least 11 other people are set to be arraigned in a Phoenix courtroom on conspiracy, forgery and fraud charges stemming from their roles in an effort to overturn Donald Trump’s 2020 election loss in Arizona to Joe Biden.
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani also is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, though it’s unclear whether he’ll seek a postponement. Arizona authorities tried unsuccessfully over several weeks to serve Giuliani notice of the indictment against him. Giuliani was finally served Friday night as he was walking to a car after his 80th birthday celebration.
Arizona authorities unveiled the felony charges last month against Republicans who submitted a document to Congress falsely declaring Trump, a Republican, had won Arizona. The defendants include five lawyers connected to the former president and two former Trump aides. Biden, a Democrat, won Arizona by more than 10,000 votes.
The indictment alleges Ward, a former state senator who led the GOP in Arizona from 2019 until early 2023, organized the fake electors and urged then-Vice President Mike Pence to declare them to be the state's true electors. It says Ward failed to withdraw her vote as a fake elector even though no legal challenges changed the outcome of the presidential race in Arizona.
Last week, attorney John Eastman, who devised a strategy to try to persuade Congress not to certify the election, was the first defendant in the case to be arraigned, pleading not guilty to the charges.
Trump himself was not charged in the Arizona case but was referred to as an unindicted co-conspirator.
Arizona is the fourth state where allies of the former president have been charged with using false or unproven claims about voter fraud related to the election.
The 11 people who claimed to be Arizona’s Republican electors met in Phoenix on Dec. 14, 2020, to sign a certificate saying they were “duly elected and qualified” electors and asserting that Trump carried the state. A one-minute video of the signing ceremony was posted on social media by the Arizona Republican Party at the time. The document was later sent to Congress and the National Archives, where it was ignored.
Of eight lawsuits that unsuccessfully challenged Biden’s victory in the state, one was filed by the 11 fake Arizona electors, who had asked a federal judge to decertify the results and block the state from sending its results to the Electoral College. In dismissing the case, the judge concluded the Republicans had “failed to provide the court with factual support for their extraordinary claims.” Days after that lawsuit was dismissed, the 11 participated in the certificate signing.
Those set to be arraigned Tuesday are Ward; Tyler Bowyer, an executive of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA; state Sen. Anthony Kern; Greg Safsten, a former executive director of the Arizona Republican Party; Robert Montgomery, a former chairman of the Cochise County Republican Committee; Samuel Moorhead, a Republican precinct committee member in Gila County; Nancy Cottle, who in 2020 was the first vice president of the Arizona Federation of Republican Women; Loraine Pellegrino, past president of the Ahwatukee Republican Women; Michael Ward, an osteopathic physician who is married to Ward; attorneys Jenna Ellis and Christina Bobb; and Michael Roman, who was Trump’s 2020 director of Election Day operations.
Arraignments are scheduled for June 6 for state Sen. Jake Hoffman; on June 7 for former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows; and on June 18 for Trump attorney Boris Epshteyn and for James Lamon, another Republican who claimed Trump carried the state.

Is this overkill?
I have a pretty new european home with lots of insulation which means bad wifi range... So my 130m2 home now has 4 AP's to get range everywhere. Also because its a house with connected neighbour houses. Number of clients is now low, since not many at home right now.

2024.05.21 13:18 PlantYourFlag My Fathers Memory

I need a little help. My father who I have been very close with my entire life is approaching 90 years old. I live 10 minutes from him and see him regularly. He owns two Harley Davidsons which have been his passion for as long as I can remember. He has always said one Harley is for me to inherit upon his passing and one is for my brother to inherit. I grew up riding motorcycles and am acutely aware of their danger but reckon I will ride once my kids are adults. Recently I discovered he gave the bike he pegged for me to his pastor. I was shocked and am hurt. I don’t care about the value. For 20 years he has expressed his desire for me and my brother to take the bikes. I guess I thought I would see my father in that bike as it sat in my garage or as I ride until I die. It’s probably the most sentimental item I could have inherited from him. His wife of 18 years, I assume gave her blessing to the transaction though her and I both know he is losing his mind and is a shell of what he once was. His wife has no children and may not understand the emotional connection he and I have with him or the sentimental value that bike holds. I floated the idea of asking the pastor if I could purchase the bike from him if not now sometime after my father passes. His wife said that would embarrass them. I don’t know if this is a me issue, if I should forget it and move on or what I should do.

Hi everyone,I've been struggling with suicidal thoughts alot recently,I always struggled with intense internalised mood swings, low self esteem social anxiety,an inferiority complex, and a very vicious cycle of destructive thought patterns,I have these periods of high motivation and confidence, they're extremely short, and I have these longer periods of feeling worthless or completly numb,i'm bad at dealing with intense emotions,I know i need to process emotions in a healthy way,but I'm sensitive and mine get so intense they physically hurt, and my emotions are like an avalanche one emotion and memory leads to even worse ones, and they flactuate a lot like they're so feckle and umpredectable that I can never pinpoint a constant state I'm in,like one second I'm so hopeful and motivated and happy the next I want to kill myself everything sucks while lacremosa is playing in the background,I developed some addictions to avoid my feelings, not substance abuse issues, more like electronic devices and sexual stuff,I spend so much time scrolling doing nothing to drown the world,to the point I drowned my brain,I'm always sooo tired wether I sleep early or eat healthy or do sports whatever I do my head is always foggy I'm always tired and my motivation is null,I don't have any passions anything I try I stop after a while not because I'm incompetent,I just tire of it and lose all my motivation,my interests are as fickle as my emotions, they change so much my life goals everything, they change so fast soo much that I can never see a materialized path for myself,I see Daedalus's maze and I have no Ariadne to guide me through it,and because of that just stop,I wake up in the morning and nothing no drive no goal no certainty and no reason to wake up(right no I'm majoring in engineering I like it now but I'm sure I will hate it again very soon),I want that fire passion drive, the irony is I have no clear goal but so terrified of dissapointing my parents family and literal strangers,I spend all my day procrastinating like I'm really lazy, life is just sooo boring,I live in a country where I feel stuck,it's a third world country with no opportunities and anything big you want to do is denied to you,I don't know how to love life,to wake up with a goal so clear you can touch it,a fire that makes you feel alive,i want real connection too, like i have friends good ones, but i just feel like i'm always a 3rd wheel a ghost that they forget the moment I'm out of their sight I want to be important to someone to believe I am,but my brain can't believe it I always feel like I'm a burden like everyone in any given room hates me for just being there, and it's very hard for me to keep relationships because I'm also not consistent,my constant insecurity and social anxiety make relationships and interactions so stressful for me like really really stressful,a voice in my head constantly talking to me,and I just prefer being alone it's more peaceful, and I get bored of people?I don't know meeting people ruins them,I like to live with the image the ideal I created of them in my head, and I'm inconsistent one second I want to cut someone out of my life and the next I like them and just as randomly hate them and find them repulsive,I know I'm a coward but I don't have any guidance we don't really do therapy in this country and everyone's too religious,so they just tell you pray and God will help you I tried I failed I'm an atheist now, also I'm pansexual so add that to the list,i just feel so detached like what's the point, the only times I feel alive is when i info dump on my mom or while reading a book even the latter is feckle and I can lose my intrest for weeks,I spend days numb not a single thought goes through my head,I always try to break cycles but they just happen before I even know it,I don't think I'm depressed I don't have the symptoms of depression other than anxiety and low self esteem it's just who I'm I think I do have childhood trauma because of the physical(he used to choke me and beat me so hard I couldn't breathe even spit in my face)and sometimes sexual abuse and assault my brother put me through(I'm 19m) btw,I did suspect bipolar or borderline personality disorder but no I don't have the symptoms,I truly think it's just a me problem,my personality or something I don't know as I said I don't really have a professional to ask, like is it the norm to almost attempt suicide at the slightest inconvenience, that at the slightest inconvenience you go into intense emotional distress like a madman and blame yourself for everything, and feel guilt and every emotion so I intensly you want to end your life to stop this intense unescapable pain, eternal nothing seem like a treath,I know about passive suicidal ideations, how it's healthy and helps us cope,so maybe it's my coping mechanism? although I don't know what's normal that's the problem I have no reference to see wether I'm normal have a problem or just a drama queen I don't know, maybe I'm just emotionally immature, and bottle my emotions too long, because my brother's abuse instilled in me this idea that expressing or standing up for myself will get me hurt because he was stronger than me so now I bottle my emotions and don't stand up for myself because I know that strength is everything and it's stupid to do so because I'm weaker and will just lose so I'm a ticking time bomb,so maybe I have the aftermath of Chernobyl or pompeii inside of me. You know what's funny, sometimes I wish that reincarnation is real because I want to be born in a different life and different body, and sometimes I even want to kill myself because I have this morbid curiosity about what happens after death other that the fact that I'm tired of life,so I guess my fear of hell saved me?yay to religious traumaaaa!!

2024.05.21 13:09 LetterGrouchy6053 On the inevitability of justice -- Part II

2024.05.21 13:03 External_Price4784 The Welfare system is abused and take advantage of by families for generations.

It's pretty disgusting to see some families completely pivot their life around gaining the system.
At this point, those who do this see nothing wrong with it. In fact, it's generational and their families taught them this same example.
Just moved to a big welfare state. My neighbors across the street don't work; They're home all day long and rarely change out of pajamas.
They have absolutely no self respect or respect for others; especially any of their neighbors. They hang florescent garage lights sideways facing my house. At night I have a glaring light pointed at my home. It runs until they decide to turn it off around 12pm the next day.
They pile trash and random belongings throughout the yard and property. They keep an entire dumpster on their property and trash is endlessly in my yard. I used to pick it up, now I throw it back across the street.
They keep a dog outside that just barks just nonstop. It will just bark in any direction at nothing. It'll face my home and just bark nonstop. They'll smack it's head or kick it to be quiet
The kids are just as doomed. They smoke weed in their minivan and the kids will join them and sit inside. They're younger than 14. The husband is 30+ and his wife is 21. They met when she was a minor lol and she was pregnant at 18 (Facebook has it all).
They eventually backed into my car while I was still in my driveway. They ignored insurance for over an entire week. Then when they finally gave their story; they claimed I lied about everything and I hit them.... After they ignored insurance call attempts DAILY FOR A WHOLE WEEK. I WAS THE LIAR.
I just have a huge lack of understanding for the lazy people with zero ambition. They just want to abuse the system and never have to "try" for anything in their life. It's so pathetic and shameful to watch these people reproduce and abuse these children they brought into the world. Only for these kids to grow up and do the same thing as them.
Btw, their parents are identical to them and life off welfare too. They used to live there before they swapped with the kids. The father used to yell extreme profanities at his wife when outside.
He used to stand in the street and police cars to "turn around" when there was a fender bender miles down the round. When they would ignore him, he would flip them off and scream at them when they would just drive by him. As if these people aren't just going home or can't handle themselves?

2024.05.21 12:55 Infamous-Employee464 I (17F) am talking to a guy (18M) but don’t have any romantic feelings for him

So, I somewhat recently (about 2 and 1/2 months ago) got out of a 6 month long relationship that left me very heartbroken and confused and made me put up a lot of walls and caused me to detach from romantic feelings. This incredibly sweet and loving boy came into my life two weeks ago and has been treating me like a princess, which is what I’ve always dreamed of. He’s literally my dream man. I enjoy his company a lot and I love talking to him, but I’m not feeling very romantically inclined towards him. I really want to because I can indeed see a future with him, but I’m afraid I won’t ever be able to connect with him on a deep emotional level, because I’ve been hurt. He came sort of out of the blue and I told him I wasn’t ready for a relationship, but he’s still been showing me a lot of love. And, unfortunately, I reciprocated physically because I missed the comfort of it and things got heated quick. This was only a few times and we’ve since calmed down and just started enjoying things other than physical intimacy. Now I feel very overwhelmed and pressured, even though I did it to myself. I’m simply not mentally stable enough to start a committed relationship, because I’m afraid he’s going to hurt me as well. He promises repeatedly that he won’t and that he’s not my ex, and everything I’ve heard about him from my friends has been extremely positive. He’s well liked by everyone around him and truly a gentleman. He also has already started talking about a future with me and I just feel very overwhelmed. Like I said, I see a future, however right now I can’t handle it. I want to tell him we need to take it way slower and he needs to stop buying me gifts and such, but I don’t want to hurt his feelings or lose him, because I do believe I could eventually feel passionate and romantic feelings for him. Also, there is a small part of me that believes he would wait, but at the same time I’m too afraid to risk it. What should I say or do?

2024.05.21 12:52 Practical_Primary504 I don't think I'm worthy of being loved by another person.

I grew up in a small town in Florida. I remember close to nothing about my childhood and honestly, I feel like my brain started producing memories near the 10th grade (I'm 19 and graduated now). I've been in a handful of relationships (2 long distance, 1 not) and each time I feel like I've pressured myself into saying "I love you" in pursuit of chasing some Disney channel love story fantasy. I don't really know what it means to truly love someone if I'm being honest. We usually say those words to our parents to show endearment, but I don't, or at least haven't for as long as I can remember. I don't know what it means to love someone. My family is very small (Mother, Grandmother, Sister) All of my other family members either passed or just really aren't in the picture. My grandmother isn't all there mentally anymore and my sister lives across the country and she's high 98% of the time. So its really just me and my mother here. My mother isn't a person you talk to about things. The typical responses are "suck it up" "be a man" "boo hoo" or any other way to belittle what I feel or what I say. She's been like that since I was a kid. So I don't really have any connections or people to talk to since I've graduated last year. I've been stuck in this house for upwards of 5 months now, I've been filling out job applications like crazy and luckily I have a job orientation later this week. At my previous job, I met this girl. Long story short, she ended up confessing to me on her way out after her shift. When I was younger, I grew up "ugly" it wasn't until 11-12 grade when I got my growth spurt and became who I am now and it took until the end of my senior year to learn how to dress, so at school I wasn't getting any play, only after highschool was I talking to women. That was the first time a woman had confessed to me like that. I knew I was able to be found attractive and to be liked, but never loved. Eventually down the line she had said she loved me, and of course I said it back, but I didn't mean it. After she had said that, the only thing I could think is "why me?" "Why some kid from nowhere Florida". I don't even have a license, my mother was driving me to work, and this woman says she loves me? Really? I had became absorbed in thoughts of not being enough, of not being worth it. Love is one of the strongest words we hold as people, and she used it on me. Doesn't loving someone mean they're at the center of your world? They're the reason you get up every day? The reason you go to work, or take a shower, or get dressed? I can't comprehend that. I shouldn't have that amount of power over a person. I shouldn't mean that much to a person. It was all I could think. I'd ask her why she loves me and she'd say "I don't know, I just feel it" and sometimes I'd say "I don't know why you love me so much" and she'd say "You dont need to know" which in retrospect, maybe she actually did love me, but why? Eventually I started telling myself that she was just lying to me for some external reason, and combined with the shitty dating world we live in-in 2024 it was very easy to convince myself of that. Eventually I ended things. Explaining to her that I don't know what it means to love someone and that I have to work on myself. I just. I don't know. I'm tired.

2024.05.21 12:51 Maxguid Need some help setting up a dedicated WI Fi router for oculus quest 3

I'm currently using an Asus dsl ac55u modem router ( which is WI Fi 5 ) currently hard wired to the PC ( next to it) and this router is also connected WI Fi with the other devices around the house. I plant to buy a wifi 6 router only for the quest ( I could buy directly a modem/router but I fear lag when family downstairs is using internet) . it will be easy to use a dedicated router while keeping Port forwarding for the PC.? ( Don't know now which router I'll get, I'll go have a look after work)
