The purpose of the thread is simple. We decide collectively if a novel is good or bad, that's it. You don't need to reason out why you think a novel is good or bad, no need to tease out the nuances, no deciphering the riddles of MTL to unearth profound truths. The rules are also simple.

Long story short, there’s this guy on my block that’s been harassing me for a few weeks because I rejected him and told him I wasn’t interested. (Only 1-2 days a week) and at first I thought it’d be okay but this morning on my way to school he started yelling remarks at me and I yelled back at him and proceeded to wait for my bus. And telling my best friend I was going to call the police on him. While being PISSED OFF.
Once I entered the bus the softie in me couldn’t help but shed a tear. I called my bsf and told her what happened while crying? But I couldn’t hold it in…..but I feel like I was really loud 😵‍💫not really loud but not really quiet either.
Anyways hopefully this isn’t as bad as it seems and can be deemed wholesome in a way considering I was laughing by the end of my bus ride.😊😂

I've been reading all over the place and it's just so confusing to me. Can someone help me figure out what would be the best way to keep my taxes owed/returned as close to $0 as possible on next year's return? We owed nearly $3k this year and weren't ready for it. I want to get ahead of it this year (and am understandably behind so I know I would likely need additional withholdings). Here's some info:
Income is from 3 sources: $61,000, $9,000, and $40,000 2 kids under 17 (9 and 7 as of 01/01/25)
Would it be more beneficial for us to file as Single and each claim 1 child, or use the Married filing jointly option and the highest income W4 claim both? Seeing how it is already near the end of May, what amount would likely be helpful putting in the extra withholding field, if any? If we did do extra withholding, should it be split between me and my spouse?

So I just got snipped about 11 hours ago. I live in a small European country, where snips are not very common. Waited almost a year and a half for my appointment (6 months mandatory wait for potential regrets, then crazy wait times and some admin issues). At least it's for free. I took the rest of the week off work, although I don't really get any official sick days (benefits of being self employed, with the disadvantage of no work=no money).
I will try to give a dry account of the experience, mostly for anyone considering it or those that are worried and stressed about it on D-day as I was.
Emotionally I was frazzled all morning before the procedure, but by now I am slowly easing into it.
The procedure itself was scalpel with small incision, and cutting of about 1cm of the duct, and self dissolving stitches. The doctor was nice, helpful, explained the procedure and attended to all my worries.
It went quite fast and smooth. Maybe 15-20 minutes, it felt longer but I was out fast. The local injection on the left side caused some sharp pain, but it went away quickly. Didn't feel almost anything else. The right side injection was almost painless, but the procedure was unpleasant for a bit. Not really pain, more of a feeling of being kicked in the nutts, without the sharp pain that comes with it. All in all I would say the pain was at most 6/10, and usually less than 3. Discomfort peaked at like 9/10 at times, but it was quite tolerable with some breathing exercises and the doctor being amusing.
When I left there was some pressure and discomfort. I went home to rest and have been in bed aside from toilet breaks. Lying down with legs slightly raised, and almost constant cooling. There is pretty much no pain so far, and still some discomfort, around 1/10 at most. Standing and walking around can get it to like 3/10, but usually I barely feel anything. Some leg movements can cause a momentary jab of minor pain, but really nothing serious. Didn't take any painkillers at all so far, and I don't feel a need to as I am quite comfortable (but I was always in favor of feeling the pain and understanding it).
Special mention to my absolutely angel of a wife, who drove me to the procedure, waited with me and helped me relax, took me back home and is doting on me left and right, despite having a hectic schedule with our very hyperactive elementary-school-age kid.
One thing I will be happy to know, if anyone has experience with that specific type of procedure: I have a band-aid on the stitches. When would be a good time to take it off?
Thank you, and I hope my account of the procedure will help other people come to it more relaxed and at peace. I will update if anything special happens. Otherwise probably in a week or two to report how easy it was, and in 2 months to report success.

1. It is getting absolutely expensive ($2,850 for 6 months) and when I started shopping policies, I spoke to a rep at another company who said I really don’t need Uninsured since I have Health Insurance. Is that true?
   
2. I have two vehicles. One vehicle has Uninsured Motor Insurance (Stacked) for 100K/300K and we denied Uninsured coverage on the second vehicle. My agent is telling me BOTH vehicles have Uninsured coverage since it’s stacked on the one vehicle. Is that true?
   

BTW - I haven’t been in a single accident in 10 years and haven’t gotten a ticket in 5+ years. Perfect driving history. Only my spouse and I drive and we work from home. Any reason why rates are so high?

Just wanted to give (and receive) a virtual hug to those who are feeling the pain. I (mom) have been coparenting since my son was 2 years old, and now he is 11. He was so young... My ex got a new woman about 5 years ago. At some point my son started calling her mom as well, mostly influenced because she has a son the same age. The two boys are treated the same at that house, and it just naturally happened and I couldn’t stop it without being punitive to my innocent son. Anyway, it has been such a painful past 9 years. At times, this woman takes my place and robs me of my motherhood to my son. Whether intentional or accidental, sometimes she will not tell me about things like picture day or meet-the-teacher if the notice comes home while he’s at her house, for example. Not include me in his class’s parent group online. As if my son isn’t the most important thing in the world to me? So I end up feeling like I lost custody of my son and I’m a second tier parent. And this is NOT the case. I’m right here. You can’t make me go away to pretend like you have a perfect little nuclear family! She doesn’t share custody of her son… He was a dead beat dad I guess. I can be grateful my son has a dad who made him a priority like me. But that doesn’t stop the pain. Having my heart ripped out every other holiday. She doesn’t know what that’s like. And I just have to tuck it away and smile for my son because he doesn’t deserve to be in the middle of this bullshit. It sucks. Anyone going through the same thing, my heart goes out to you.

Hello, Maybe these are dumb questions, but I could not find clear information in the official websites. I need to renew my skilled worker visa (it will be a short renovation of 3 months for the exactly same work in a University where I am a researcher).
1) Is the expiry date of my visa the same as the BRP? My actual entrance visa (stamp in the passport) expired quite shortly after I entered the country two years ago. But my BRP says October 15th, although my current job contract goes until September 30th.
2) I need to go to Madrid for an important conference (for work), so I can apply only when I am back on 29th of July. Is it enough (78 days)? In case it takes longer, can I keep working while I wait for the answer or will I need to stop working after October 15th? I suppose I cannot apply before Madrid, even if it is work, right?

My most recent session with my Nutritionist requested I consume "At least 300 calories per meal, and at least 2700 calories total per day." 1) I'm lucky to consume half of that total daily intake, 2) That would require upwards of 9 meals a day, once every 2 hours assuming I'm awake for 18 hours a day.
For reference, I'm 5'11" and 145lbs. This feels like an impossible goal, and I have no idea what they want from me.

I did the social club 2 step verification like almost 1,5 week ago. I read on here that the 500k was still being rewarded and that it should take about 2-3 days. But I have still not received it. Anyone know anything about it?

Hello, in 2020 I took 11 drops of methylcobalamin 5000mcg. A few minutes after I felt horrible. Nasal congestion, headache, anxiety, confusion and worse of all insomnia. I did not sleep for straight 48 hours and then slowly I started to sleep for 1-2 hours a day. For 2 years, I slept for 5-6 hours a day. Even the digestion worsened day by day, my intestines became hard and I could not digest anything like before. I felt intoxicated and my intestine was hard, initially, even my liver was in serious pain. In few months after taking methylcobalamin, every time I had even a little bit of dairy, I could not sleep again. This has remained for long.
Last year, I had pneumonia and took plenty of antibiotics and I noticed that my sleep had improved but every time I had dairy (yogurt) the insomnia would come back and if I take antibiotics again, the insomnia would disappear. My point is that most likely it is the gut bacteria that got altered after taking methylcobalamin. When I did a blood test, my homocysteine levels were high.
This year I tried a very small amount of multivitamin and symptoms came rushing. With some antibiotics again, they disappeared. Last month, I took some Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) 50000IU, all at once in a capsule and since this one time of taking this capsule I have insomnia after eating even a small amount of meat or dairy. Even if I eat it in the morning. I tried taking magnesium and potassium supplements but not much success.
I have been taken Vitamin D on multiple occasions but never had such symptoms. I have gut issues for years, most likely SIBO but also some gut inflammation I guess. I've lost 30 kgs in the past because of my gut issues caused antibiotics to kill H Pylori.
Can some explain why do I have these symptoms and how to get rid of them. My gut is feeling hard again. Am I oveunder methylated?

The kid kept his side of the bargain and got straight as all year and now I gotta find a bike. Would like a bmx or mountain bike style.

I've been a loyal Logitech custome for nearly 20 years, going back to my MX518 in 2005. A mouse I used for over a decade until I upgraded to the G502 Lightspeed. I even upgraded that to the G502 Lightspeed Wireless because I loved it so much. But I've had constant problems with that wieless G502 and my currrent G613 wirreless keyboarrd and my prrevious logitech keyboarrds before that. Then on top of all that, build quality issues on my Prro X headset.
My 502 Lightspeed Wireless has issues with the right click acting as if I've stopped prressing it when I haven't. Significantly affects my ability to raid in WoW because holding right click is how you spin you camera instead of your character. You've likely alrready noticed the issue I'm having with my G613 keyboard. My "RR" key will either not rregister at all when I press it or else it will register twice. I've left in most of the typos related to that issue in this post for all to see. My "1" key also requirres seveal presses to get it to rregisterr as well. Which is the exact same reason I replaced my previous Logitech keyboard with my currrent one. (Can't rrember the exact model numberr off the top of my head) I just blamed the issues with that last keyboarrd on age but now that my second keyboarrd with the same Romer G switches is having the exact same problem of keys either not rregisteing o rregisterring multuiple times, it's obvious a defect with the harrdwarre.
I don't want to turn this into a book to explain all the other prroblems I'm having with Logitech products, like mym Pro X headset. I'd literrally be writing all day if I listed everything. the TLD is the quality of Logitech products is not worrth thei cost. I'll be using a differrent brand moving forwarrd. Nearly 2 decades of loyalty gone.
