I’m pretty defeated at this point. I don’t know what to do or where to turn. I’m a good partner, I know I am. I don’t cheat, I work hard, I am religious, and I truly love my girl to death.
But every so often she shows me how little respect she has for me. It truly breaks my heart. She loves me I know she does but maybe she just doesn’t see me as a strong individual? I also buy her anything she wants but then she turns around and says I don’t do enough. Granted I don’t cook because I never learned but I will do the dishes and clean the house when I have free time. She does all the cooking but I’ll stand by or in the kitchen to help her cut chicken and do what I can to assist.
I had to travel for the summer for work. She calls me up crying and saying she feels lonely so I immediately book her a ticket to come stay with me for a few days. Just a few moments later she asks me for some money to buy herself alcohol because she feels stressed. I had sent her a few dollars a few days prior for alcohol. She then asks me “can we get into a fight. I’m in the mood to fight”. I said no because I don’t like fighting and it’s a ridiculous request. She gets mad at me anyways so I just ignore her for the rest of the day.
Fast forward to today, she’s packing her bags to see me and says a random man knocked on our door and she answered. I told her not to answer the door for random men since she’s all alone right now. We have a camera doorbell but the batteries died a few days ago. She gets mad at me saying it’s my responsibility to change them. I remind her that I am out of town and I can’t change them. She says how I’m not doing enough to protect her and then she claims how I just don’t listen to her. I tell her just because I didn’t change the batteries before I left doesn’t mean I don’t protect her. Why did I get the ring doorbell in the first place?
I text her saying “I’m asking you to speak to me with appreciation. I’m asking that you see how hard I work to be the best partner for you every single day. I stick around through everything because I know it’s hard being in a different country despite knowing I deserve better. I am available to have a conversation with you. But I am not available to be yelled at, asked to be fought with, and not appreciated. I’m not going to stay here while you talk to me like this and put me down.”
She then shoots back at me saying again how I don’t listen and there’s no point in having a conversation. I try so hard to be civil, hold a calm conversation all the time but it’s her who just wants to fight. It’s like it’s in her blood. She tells me she never asked me to buy her a ticket to see me - which is true.. but I thought since she told me she missed me and is lonely that buying her a ticket to see me would be a good solution. She uses that and turns it around telling me it’s proof I don’t listen because she never asked me to buy her a ticket.
Back when we first started dating, I explained to her that I’m not an argumentative type person. It’s exhausting and I’ve just never been a fan. It seems like she drives on arguments. It’s the only thing that will wake her up in the morning.
I have been begging her for years to talk to me with respect without slamming doors, raising her voice, etc.. I’ve tried showing her better communication skills but she doesn’t grasp it. I ask her over and over what I can do to be a better partner and all she comes back with saying is “listen”. I do listen.
I see joking videos about how this is actually her culture (she’s Arab) but now I’m thinking it’s not a joke. And I told her multiple times that I am starting to really get discouraged. I keep trying to escape this town. This town is the personification of their depression. A jail that chains them to their past. Being unable to leave the town is also being unable to move past. I wanted to share a bit of my experience in trying to be better. Didn't know what flair to use so just chose the vent flair. Apologies if it’s a long read.
To sum it up, I think I finally reached a spot where I’ve found comfort in being alone, experiencing it as solitude rather than crippling loneliness.
To this day, I’ve always had trouble with both making friends and maintaining current friendships. I always put myself out of my comfort zone to both reach out to people and make conversations with new people or with current friends. Over time, I noticed that anyone I ever spoke to, whether it be with a current friend or with someone new, rarely returned the favor. I would always be initiating. No matter how much effort I would put in, it was never reciprocated. I’m never asked about my day, what I have going on in my life, or what I’m up to. Later on, I observed that the people in my life are simply not inclined to start conversations with me or initiate. It hurt. Quite a bit, too. What was I doing wrong? People hate me, for sure, right?
That was the wrong way to think, as that just places the blame on other people without considering what I could be doing differently. I learned something recently that’s otherwise probably obvious to most. People are going to be naturally inclined to talk to someone that’s sociable. Basically, anyone that’s good at making conversation, able to say the right things, take interest in what people have to say, and not make it awkward. If person A is more sociable and more approachable than person B, the no-brainer is to hit up person A first, over person B. Learning this, I tried my absolute hardest to change the way I conducted myself when talking to people, trying everything I could to be more sociable, in hopes that maybe someone would return the favor and reciprocate my efforts. Well, nothing worked. No matter how hard I tried, things were just going worse. I was getting ignored, people ghosted me, and current friends preferred to talk to other friends over spending time with me.
It hit me, right then and there. I realized that nothing I do is going to change how I am in other people’s eyes. I don’t think I will ever be someone that’s sociable, approachable, or interesting enough to talk to. People in my life will always have someone over me that they will be more naturally inclined to turn to. As rough as it felt, I learned that was perfectly fine. What I needed to do instead is be appreciative of what I do have, even if people don’t talk to me regularly or if people don’t reciprocate. If I had conversations with current friends, I appreciated them and enjoyed them. Even if 99% of my interactions with the people in my life are aired, I should be grateful for the 1%.
From there, I just diverted efforts to self-improvement, and for some reason I’ve felt less stress ever since. Don’t think I’ve ever felt more free. I’m working to improve my overall health, gymming frequently and watching what I’m eating. I’m taking up hobbies that I used to be interested in, like photography, to see how far I go. Also taking up new interests I’ve always wanted to explore, like music production and mixing. It feels good. I think I’m finally learning how powerful solitude can be, and it’s absolutely incredible. Yes, I will have some moments where I feel lonely, and that’s what I have to work on. Just gotta keep at it, yaknow?

Hello fellas, I'm 22F university student currently having severe pain (joint, muscle, fatigue, migraine, etc) and it has been affecting my university life that I couldn't do my assignments as my wrists/hands/forearms constantly in pain, nor could I properly walk to class without pain in my soles/ankles/knees. I had looked around and even get suggestions from friends and they say I should try looking into HSD and definitely get this checked in general.
Unfortunately, there's little to no information about HSD in Malaysia, nor are there any list I could find of docs/specialists who qualify in HSD.
I've tried my luck with usual clinic/GP in hope that I could try get referrals to rheumotologist/genetist/specialist for my complications but bear no result and was instead traumatized.
First clinic in Wangsa Maju, he outright look away when I tried explaining my symptoms and how it's affecting me, and instead say it's just "anxiety" (this is coupled by the fact that I also could only come with my unsupportive dad who thinks my symptoms are "normal" and that I'm just stressed, and he took my dad's words more than me), the doctor even laughed at my symptoms.
So my dad angrily(towards me) drove me to a different clinic in Gombak seeing that I was extremely upset and cried due to how dismissive and rude the doctor was.
Second clinic in Gombak, at the very least he took my blood for testing, but was accompanied with "Kalau darah awak normal jangan sedih pulak, yer?" and repeated it 3 times so I "understand" in very condescending tone. This is definitely insinuating that I came here because I want to be sick soooo bad. He even lectured me about not to "tick tick everything in google" and said I should just ignore those pain so the pain stop bothering me... Which is literally crazy. How am I supposed to ignore when it's affecting my life especially with assignments? He also told me to never listen to my concerned friends because they're "enabling" me to get sick.
I also have to physically force myself in uni as well, as I live in fourth floor and the cafe and classes are so far apart. Being in art course is another killer as I'm forced to exhaust my wrists and hands. Unfortunately these pains do not appear Suddenly, I've been dealing with muscle and joint pain ever since primary, but my parents aren't concerned about it especially when you can just put minyak on them and call it a day. Even going to doctors in the past would just be met with "you're probably just stressed" or "maybe you have a bit of flu".
What's silly is that, the second GP also told me to just "take an hour of your day to walk and get some sun", when I literally told him in the beginning that I have problems with walking and standing in general (can't even last 5 minutes without my calf sizzle and tingles and my hips feel squashed + common ankle injury). Plus I'm already walking 4h+ in university in general and an hour of that is being in the hot sun. I also told him I'm looking to try out compression socks and he outright denied me using any aid since "you can just walk and exercise".
But my rant is over, I'm looking if someone could point me out on the right direction to get help with my health.
Unfortunately I'm also well aware that I probably need to book with private professionals for this to really get taken seriously, however I'm only a student and my family is B40. I was wondering if there's still away around this, or at least affordable path? If not, I'll just wait for the future but I still would like suggestions of any good specialists out there for future references. Plus, any suggestion you guys have on what I should do next would be nice too, as I'm quite lost and still very upset about my experience.
And if anyone has the same health issues as me but it isn't HSD, then feel free to let me know just so I'm aware with other possibilities. (of course I'm not looking for redditors to diagnose me, it's just so I can keep in mind).
Currently, I'm just taking the painkillers medications provided, but unfortunately the dose may be too low (only 50mg) as I do not have improvements at all with my pain. I've also tried investing in aids such as wrist and ankle braces, compression socks, and insoles (they haven't arrived yet so I couldn't comment much). Including exercises/stretches fit for hypermobile people (which actually doesn't hurt me unlike regular exercises).

I used G-parted to resize an EFI partition but Debian doesn't recognize that it is larger. Windows 11 dual boot shows the resized partition size in Disk Management so I am a little lost on how to made Debian see it as well. Do I have to run a particular command to get Debian to recognize it can use that space? G-parted doesn't even show a free/used number and is just blank in those columns. Everything still boots normally for both OSes.

I’m not writing this to excuse the exclusion of WiFi but to help some of you understand the challenges Sonos likely faced in implementing WiFi in the prototyping stage (assuming it was something they even considered).
To start, the Ace are definitely running some kind of Qualcomm chipset. Qualcomm won’t give you access to AptX unless you buy their chips. Assuming Sonos didn’t cheap out here, they likely are putting something in the class of the QCC5181 but we need to wait for tear downs to know for certain.
This is their first limitation in making these WiFi headphones. Qualcomm will do custom silicon for clients but they’re normally looking for large orders to justify that cost. These custom chips also usually don’t get that many extra features. In mobile chips the most you get is a slightly overlocked version of the SoC. Qualcomm makes its chips to be very very efficient at handling Bluetooth audio on very small batteries. Sonos may need to prove their demand is there to get a hyper custom WiFi/Bluetooth chip from Qualcomm.
The second limitation is that WiFi is orders of magnitude more energy intensive than Bluetooth. To use an example from the world of lightbulbs. The WiFi smart bulb from LiFX (75W equivalent) uses around 12 Watts at max brightness. Nanoleaf’s 75W equivalent uses thread and Bluetooth and draws 9 watts at max brightness. Keep in mind that LiFX has to charge a hefty premium for its bulbs just so it can offer the most efficient WiFi chips available. It still has a 3W power delta from its competitors.
When we look at the Sonos Roam, it can only manage 10 hours of battery with its small cell on WiFi. The Ace is working with an even smaller battery, and is pulling way more compute power with ANC processing. Roam owners also know that speaker isn’t the best with standby power management.
Thankfully the Qualcomm SoC the Ace is running is able to handle all of this with tons of efficiency on Bluetooth. If we assume the power draw of WiFi is proportional from our lightbulb case, a 33% increase in power draw from the wireless radios is a lot to deal with, this doesn’t account for how much power is drawn from processing audio streamed over IP and constant communication with your router, or the thermal management needed.
This is not to say a WiFi version of the Ace is not in the cards. The Ace has a 5Ghz radio on board for syncing with your Arc for TV swap (Bluetooth is 2.4Ghz), so there’s some hardware for utilizing WiFi protocols here, just not a constant connection to your router and the internet. Maybe an Ace 2 or Ace Pro down the line will feature WiFi streaming. Now that Sonos has a relationship with Qualcomm, it could be able to get a custom chip made to enable the feature with a more reasonable battery life trade off. I doubt Sonos wants to drop below 25 hours of battery life here.
The argument could certainly be made that Sonos should’ve worked harder to get these WiFi compatible. I’m not saying I disagree, but at some point with all product development you need to make a decision to get ready to ship the thing as best you can. If the Ace are just great Bluetooth headphones, hopefully they’ll be enough of a hit for us to get the WiFi headphones of our dreams down the line.

The state I live in has trash drop-offs all over the place. Yes, there is trash pick-up service, but you can also just head over to what is basically a nicely maintained mini-dump, with receptacles for trash and recycling and even over-sized items, and drop it all off for free. It's nice, and since I live just close enough for it to be convenient, I don't bother with trash and recycling service.
The place I hit is setup as a big loop, with the main trash dumpster off to the left at the "top" of the loop, and then all the recycling dumpsters are on the path out so you can throw trash and then throw recycling and get all done in a smooth couple of stops. The area by the trash dumpster is wide, enough so that you can easily reverse two big SUVs in there or three compact cars. Standard etiquette is that you pull up and around, then reverse in, making sure to leave room for others since, while it's not busy, there is a steady flow of cars in and out all day.
Well, this past weekend I dealt with a boomer lady who clearly didn't understand etiquette. She was ahead of me going into the area, she pulled around in her big, silver SUV, backed up, and tried to take up the whole space. I drive a sedan, and I know how to drive it well enough that, once she was in, I pulled around and backed up and parked right next to her. There was room to open car doors and get out, but not as much room as usual there. I'd say it was about the same amount of space you'd get in a parking lot.
She didn't like this, so she had to move her SUV again to push it further over away from me. Then, as my wife and I were loading out her trash, she has to come up to us and snippily say, "just couldn't wait, could you?"
I ignored her for most of this, mind you, as I just wanted to get my trash out and (having read this reddit enough) I know engaging doesn't stop them, it just encourages them. My wife, though, was already annoyed at the woman trying to take up the whole area, so she was like, "wait for what?" and this caused the two of them to go back and forth for a few seconds with the woman railing at us about being impolite.
Then, hilariously, she called us "rednecks". Bear in mind that while the area surrounding is farms, we're in a historic city area, and I look like a grunge rocker. My wife laughed and I couldn't stop myself from saying, "oh, fuck off."
We drove off and then just saw the woman one last time when she slow drove around us as we threw out our recycling. I have to assume she was trying to get our attention, but I was back to not engaging. Still, she was rude, entitled, and doesn't even know how to insult someone properly. Just a really weird moment.

I have been suffering with gut inflammation for more than a decade now. Symptoms: - pain (plus gas/bloating) left most left most side of my left rib just after eating. Now i have been on strict carnivore diet. Meat only for 1 month now. My bowl movements are fine and i am worried of constipation instead of diarrhoea lol i am fine with it. I was unable to digest fat in start but now after one month i can digest tallow easily in lower amount.
The only issue is i was already weak and don’t know how much deficiencies i had with all these years of diarrhoea and eating nothing. Now after one month of meat only, i am feeling too much: - fatigue - brain fog - feeling heartbeat - immense weakness - more weight reduced than ibs - if i eat beef then my body gets very dry as a whole - when i drink water it gets me full and unable to have next meal even i am hungry

Hey all, currently considering doing a playthorugh of Kenshi again using the LoK mod, as last time I played it I had a lot of fun getting smashed against the wall over and over by the bosses new stats.
However this time I want a little prize if I manage to take out any of the unique NPC the mod adds, and conscript them to my party, in the vein of "recruit anyone" or "recruitable prisoners" and "tame beasties" but I have next to no knowledge of FCS besides editing stats, cats and checking if NPCs are alive in the world and have no idea how much effort writing a basic recruitment script would be for some of the unique NPCs the mod ads and am hoping someone with some free time can cook something up quick, or at least guide me in detail on how to do it myself.

Hi everyone. Thought some may find this post interesting. About 3 months ago my girlfriend and I did a month long tour through Asia. We visiting a ton of places one of those being Cambodia. I never really got into watching HCL was more of a live at the bike and now the lodge guy but I knew who RYUSUKE was from a Doug Polk YouTube video. Long story short my girlfriend wanted a night in so I decided to play some poker while spending a few days in Cambodia, and I started playing 2/5 and eventually moved to a 5/10/25 table where about 3 hours into my session a familiar face sits down. At first I can’t put a name to the face and finally realized who I was looking at. I didn’t say anything truthfully with the fear of getting killed (lol). But I did have a brief convo with him. He told me his name was Bao. He had a whole story about being a traveling poker player but does not and has not ever played in the US. It’s like he knew I knew who he was. To my surprise in the 10 hours I played with him he reloaded 4 separate times for 10k at a time. For someone who owes a lot of money he didn’t seem to have any lack of funds. The final tell where I knew it was him was his laugh after he got it in with KK vs 99 for about a 25k pot. He got rivered and did his infamous ryusuke laugh. After this hand he decided to move to a PLO game. I asked a local that spoke English if he’d seen him before and they all knew who he was. I asked if anyone reported him or posted and they made it clear that he donates up to 100k a week so no one has any issues with him being there not caring where the money came from.
It’s just surreal seeing how people ruin their lives for poker.

What follows is a limited outline of my research from the last 3 years that I feel would be beneficial and give bettors new insight and perspective into sports betting.

 

Here is a controversial statement: Several, not all, sports can be accurately predicted. Through one very simple algorithm that can be seen in a movie, statistics that are available for free online, a basic understanding of mathematical constants, and an open mind to challenge something we have not seen done before, I am about to soft reveal how the way we view the prediction of outcomes should be changed.

 
Today we will cover Soccer, WNBA & NBA. At the time of writing this there are MLB games going on so compiling MLB data with my schedule tomorrow will be hard to get my pick in this thread so we will primarily cover Soccer and Basketball now.
 
With soccer I decided to only look at passing & possession stats. I then deployed the algorithm and made 4 more statistics that divide, multiply, add, subtract, etc a combination of the numbers, algorithms and custom numbers I compiled. I use this to read and determine which team with score first.
 
With Basketball I determined that it is best to track advanced assist & shooting percentage numbers. After trial and error, I then found a sweet spot combo of stats I deployed the algorithm and again began making my own custom stats. With basketball is where we need basic understanding of mathematical constants where there is a single threshold (aka if a certain number I create falls below the threshold, then it will cause me to choose option 1 to make my pick, this is less common. If the number is above the threshold, then I use option 2, the easiest, to make the pick) the pick is then made and I know the outcome.
 
Baseball is my baby, my bastard, the thing that has caused me to lose sleep and question my sanity, the SOB that began the whole project in 2019. She’s a hateful beast that has been the equivalent of wrestling a pissed off crocodile whereas the others required as much work as a jog through the park. I dislike baseball, I don’t watch it. 5 years ago, I could tell you tons of active obscure players, I enjoyed the games no one else cared about, I enjoyed the storylines, etc. but this project has since permanently altered my love and care for the sport. I worked 7 days a week on this project, which has of course taken several different twists and turns as to what I felt like I was doing or sat out to do (which was to win DFS) I took an entire year and half off from 2021-2022 to come back and tackle it. It didn’t work then. I took the back half of 2023 off and spot worked here and there when life was getting me down. I made several leaps and bounds and came with experience and new perspective each time but each time I felt like the closer I got to the goal it was only waiting to be yanked away. I decided for the final time in March 2024 to give it one last try and damn it I got it. This is my Magnum Opus; I don’t care what challenges I face professionally or personally; this was the loch ness monster I sat out to find. Was it worth it? I don’t know. It’s aged me. I knew deep in my serotonin deprived brain that Baseball could be predicted but here are so many moving parts and factors that must be accounted for. New stats must be made to make sense of everything. It’s still challenging and there are games that are in obscure land that I can’t confidentially make predictions on which is the loss I have no other option but to accept. However, there are several I can. For baseball we begin making a stat that includes contact (Out of Zone and Zone contact made with the ball), we also incorporate Swing/Strike percentage, and the pLI (player leverage index)

Boston takes Game 1 against Indiana (wow shocker a heavy favorite win, ok let’s go further)
Atlanta Dream beats the Dallas Wings in the WNBA (ATL is 5.5 point favorite)
Washington Mystics beat the LA Sparks in the WNBA (LA is 3.5 point favorite)
Minnesota takes Game 1 against Dallas on 5/22 (this one is kind of interesting because of a rare mathematical constant situation paired from both teams that has popped up for a unique situation that has not been found in over 2,000 games sampled. If I were betting, I would skip this one simply because there is no history to make a full logical determination that Minnesota would win. But I haven’t come this far to lay down over a technicality. I still say Minnesota)
