Hi all, just looking to get an honest opinion if an auto glass shop would generally have the experience to be able to fix/install something like a window channel weather strip. My window weather strip got damaged on a tint job install and I'm not exactly sure which industry professional would be best suited to get it fixed at-body shop, mechanic, autoglass etc. I was told by a plant assembly guy that the weather strip is one of the first things to get assembled on a door and a pita to get to.

I’m looking to refurbish wooden things like tables, desks, doors, and whatever else wooden thing I might find. I’ve looked into it and im thinking about getting the Milwaukee random fine detail orbital sander. But is there anything else you might recommend? Also any tips too? Like what’s the best stuff to use for getting paint off wood?

I’ve been in the auto industry since I left the Army (late 2019). I started working as a lot porter then moved up to lube tech at kia, left to become a paint prepper at caliber (pay was good but there was barely any work on some months), left to become a Detailer at Carmax (was making roughly 2.6-3.7k biweekly commission pay) then got moved up to doing bodywork/paint prep again very recently. The auto industry is pretty rough right now, they’re charging customers more but reducing our labor charge (corporate just pocketing money) to a point where none of the things I do is even worth doing. The only thing that’s keeping me here is the schedule (4-10’s and nightshift) I’m only 25, besides the auto industry, I’ve also worked in the marketing field as a photographevideographer for a marketing agency that manages social media for vinyl wrap shops, dealerships and restaurants but they were paying less than a McDonald’s worker but I truly enjoyed doing it, just wish they paid more. Any advice on what careefield I should try looking into?

I am just curious for some perspectives on this.
I have a friend I’ve known for ten years. Like a brother to me in many ways. Always there to help in a pinch (including a move across the country), shared dreams, all that.
But recently I’ve decided it’s best to not have him in my life anymore. I can tolerate a lot from loved ones, especially mistakes that are not intentional harm. We are all imperfect.
There is only one thing that I truly won’t tolerate, aside from outright abuse, violence, etc., and that is when someone has an issue, refuses to communicate with me, and then just ghosts me out of nowhere, and will never have a real conversation about it.
But three times now he has done this: all of a sudden turn on me out of nowhere, without saying anything, run away, and go completely silent. Twice it’s been up and leaving in the middle of the night and then ignoring texts or calls til he feels like answering.
The second time, he abandoned us after months of intending to move together, leaving us scrambling to find a place with only three weeks til we had to move.
The third time, he outright lied and said he was going to come and we could talk, but he just came in late, slept a little, and got up and left before I was up. Used us so he didn’t have to get a hotel.
My good heart assumed it was some kind of trigger at first. Maybe he was hurting more than I realized. Then he made a comment once that said he “did it to prove a point” and I realized it was fully intentional.
For context, I’ve been pretty kind to him after he has done this before. Even though it’s extremely hard to take, I have never yelled at him, never name-called, simply stated that I really hate people doing that, and that it’s a traumatizing and awful way to treat people you consider friends.
He acts every time like things will just go back to normal when he feels like it. They won’t. He clearly doesn’t care that this is a really, really nasty way to treat people, yet he will tell a twisted version of events to paint things so that it sounds like he had to go, and that I would’ve been too angry if he had just talked to me.
Curious to hear other people’s takes on this!
Edit 1: I even tell him I never have a problem with him changing his mind on something; it’s running away and avoiding as a tactic that I refuse to accept.

Anyone know of any experienced auto painters in the area? It isn’t a show car but I would still like a quality job. Hear too many horror stories out there.

I’m not sure what I’m looking for here.
I feel like I’ve hit rock bottom with being a step parent. My 10 year old stepdaughter lives five hours away so visits aren’t that frequent. But she spends school breaks and long weekends here.
I have two little babies with my hubby and they are just the best. My husband is a good man and I love him dearly. My stepdaughter is a sweet kid. I’ve just had enough. There’s always some drama with the mom, painting my husband as a dead beat dad. Threatening court. Telling him he doesn’t do enough, there’s never NOT a problem. I dread her visits because I anticipate some BS message from her mom when she gets home. Examples: Why weren’t her clothes washed? Why did you talk to her about xyz current events? Why are you not spending one on one time with her instead of spending it all together as a family? The list goes on.
When she calls him on the phone, the calls are never long enough or up to her mom’s standards. Her mom is beginning to encourage her to feel like my husband doesn’t have time for her. it’s fucking exhausting.
I have a lot of anxiety in general and this whole situation just makes it really hard for me to deal with day to day life. I’m in therapy and I’ve tried anxiety meds but honestly nothing really helps. I constantly worried about another bullshit message or the worse case scenario of her dragging us back to court for more money. I just want to live peacefully and protect my family.
I used to love my step daughter and now I just… don’t. I resent all the problems she’s brought to my life. I try so hard to be the adult and be sweet to her. I just don’t know how much longer I can handle it. Maybe I’m just looking for some encouragement? This sucks!

Is it wrong for me to be upset of my drawing got erased?
It was free drawing time in art class. Im not used to draw with mouse, but i drew a really small drawing of my oc in the corner. It wasn't the best drawing. But i was so proud of it bc i thought it so cute. Basically i put a lot of effort. Then someone erased it and give me ":3". I was so upset i said it in chat TvT.
(If u feel like u need some other example: I usually draw with pencil on paper. But 1 day i decided to draw using paint instead. But right after i finish my drawing, someone came up to me, took my drawing and rip it apart and just smile to me; That's how i felt when they did that)

Free Fly Time
But! Don't spend until you're ready. Invictus Launch Week (or fortnight as it happens) is currently happening, which means the game is fully and entirely free to try out until the 29th of May. The full details are over on the ILW mini site, but the short of the long is: If you are wanting to try out the game, always do that first, before paying. It also shows the game at its roughest (because of the influx of new people), so if you can deal with how the game runs then, you'll be ok when it runs better. Importantly, until you're pretty sure you want to get in, don't spend.
To try out the game (why you're here), all you need to do is sign up for an account, and then download the client, log in, download the game itself, and then launch it. No codes or anything, just that. Invictus Launch Week is a now two week long celebration of all the military focused ships in the game (nominally at least), and not only will get have an Avenger Titan (the wonderful space penguin) to fly around with for the duration of the event, but you can get a free short-term rental of a whole pile of ships, by going to the Bevic Convention Center in Area 18 on the planet of ArcCorp in game and pick from any of the ships that are on the daily list, which then will become just as though it was your own ship, for 48 hours. If you need guidance, just ask in global chat in game, someone should be able to help you out (though remember, many will be new, just like yourself, be patient and don't be that gamer). A fun little detail is, too, that if you attend the convention in-game at least three different days (that is, as the game counts it - they roll over 1600 UTC, so keep that in mind), you will get both a badge over on Spectrum (CIG's bespoke communications platform, with both forums and chat), and a Medivac Beacon, which is a hand gadget that you can use for, well, making yourself known as either in need of or being a supplier of medical assistance when out and about.
What Do?
If you do decide to pledge now, however: As a new player, you will likely want to hop on and actually do the tutorial that has (finally) been added. It's a fairly short one, but it'll get you familiar with the basics of the game (on-foot navigation, interaction, flight controls, that sort of stuff), and you even get a set of armour and a bit of cash at the end of it. In short, simple, but worth your time. You can also use the Guide system, which you can find over on Spectrum once you've signed up: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/guide - sometimes there's little bonuses for doing that as well, but it's always useful, as it's a real person, who plays the game, who is there to help you work out how to do things in the game.
For the moment, the servers seem to be pretty happy, but as the game is still in development, there's going to be bugs, sometimes light, sometimes extreme. So while the general gameplay is decently smooth, of course the old "it's an alpha" always applies, and you should always treat this game as one to make sure your expectations are at the correct level for jankiness. That said, you just might be able to have some outright gameplay type fun out in the big sandbox that is out little star system of Stanton.
In addition to Invictus Launch Week itself (and DefenseCon, the Drake "we are not down with the UEE" counterpart to ILW - lore stuff ;) ), the game is also currently playing host to a huge new chain of missions, which can arguably be done solo (according to some), but which are outright amazing with other people. What Game Package To Get
Most importantly, when picking what to get: Anything called a "starter pack" will get you in the game, and spending more doesn't equal a better ship. Specifically, don't get something called a Standalone Ship, as that will not include game access. It says as much on the store, but there is a lot of text, so it bears pointing out here.
Right now, one of the two largest sales of the year is going on, which means there is a sale on two specific starter packs as well, and either of the two will do you very well as a starter: The Aurora MR Invictus Starter Pack is 10% off the usual price, and the Avenger Titan Invictus Starter Pack is a full 25% off, which lands it as an absolutely amazing value for the cash. Both of these come with a nifty paint as well, as well as a bit of extra starting cash, and longer insurance than the default (though do note, insurance currently doesn't matter, that's going to be more a thing later on, though CIG's word on the topic is also that you'd never completely lose anything you spent cash money on).

If you want the cheapest option to get the game, forever, the Aurora pack should be your pick. OK this to some in their opinion is going to be a no brainer but I figured I'd ask everyone's opinion.
First off, due to medical conditions, I am a small guy. 5'0 even to be exact. So when I conceal carry, it has to be a subcompact as even a compact still juts out a tad and I have to wear super baggy clothes to not print.
Now, I'm looking between a revolver in 9mm and a glock 43. For the glock, standard mag is 6 +1, the 9mm revolver I'm looking at is 5 rounds so I'm missing out on 2 rounds. "You can always get a extended mag!" Right, but that defeats the purpose of me going for the small glock to conceal best.
I also do plan on reloading my own ammunition as well and from what I've been reading and looking up, revolvers are a tad more forgiving with hand loads if you accidentally go to low or a tad high in powder compared to semi autos.
I've shot glocks before and they are nice, buy because they are lightweight, they seem to be more snappy. When I've shot a revolver, most are heavier so there is less felt recoil imo.
Also with the revolver option, I will be choosing one that does not require moon clips. As for extra ammunition, I have a fold in my wallet I would use for extra rounds like you would a spare mag. It doesn't bulk uo my wallet by much.
I'm no expert and this would be my first glock or revolver so I figured I'd ask here where people would be more knowledgeable. I apologize in advance if I come off as stupid, I'm just genuinely curious and would like some feedback. Thanks in advance.

I am ashamed to admit it but I haven’t done a good amount of exploring in Idaho and I want to change that! Hello, the community has been so helpful learning the game and I am in need of a little more help. I find the warbond or ccu upgrading confusing.
My current hangar is:
an aurora start package which I have already upgraded to a titan. this comes with 3 months insurance
a tumbril ranger rc warbond which comes with lifetime insurance
an anvil arrow starter package which comes with 6 months insurance.
The Invictus titan starter pack is currently 25% off and comes with a cool paint job and 120 months insurance. I would also like to get a cutlass black at some point. My question is what would be the best way for me to upgrade my ships and get longer insurance and save real life money? I really like the titan and the arrow and would like to have those ships, but it seems like it might make more sense to upgrade them and then repurchase at a later date. I appreciate any help you can offer, this is just not clicking for me!

Ever-shifting Short Seller Claims

The short sellers attacking RILY in 2023-2024 have been relentless (currently 57% of float sold short per FinViz), with an ever-shifting list of wild accusations.
It's sickening to watch them compile a never-ending list of baseless wild theories and claims to support their short positions, which are demonstrably false. But as each is proved false, they pivot to new claims, and/or change the goalposts.
The sheer volume of shifting claims makes it hard to track how despotic they are with their "platform," and how many falsehoods they've spun. Even for someone who watched it in real-time, for almost a year

Compiled & Debunked

Sunlight kills vampires. To that end, I've compiled a list of (i) claimants (ii) claims (iii) reality (iv) definitive source proving reality.

Why Did They Target RILY?

One of the most vocal short sellers, Nate Koppikar (who also introduced Marc Cohodes to the "opportunity") has a fund Orso Partners. Based on their SEC registration document, this is their investment thesis:
"The Account’s investment objectives are to achieve capital appreciation primarily by identifying and selling short marketable equity securities of underfollowed and complex companies with misleading or corrective disclosures through a research-intensive process. The Account employs a short-biased investment strategy with an emphasis on primarily small to mid-cap companies that are underfollowed and complex (i.e., companies with market capitalizations of less than $5 billion which the market does not yet have a wellformed bull and/or bear perspective)."
RILY fits their description. The icing on the cake was the relatively large market cap, and the relatively small float. Given extremely high insider ownership (32.9% of shares per the proxy), and limitations on when and how insiders can trade, the "free float" of the stock (i.e., the shares that regularly trade) is very small for the size of the company. Moreover, the setup would only get better - given insiders have consistently used their free cash to buy additional shares hand-over-fist (further reducing the float).
That meant, with relatively small amounts of capital, the short sellers could shove around the stock price. That ability to move price opens another profit avenue - taking large derivative positions (buying puts, and selling calls), and shoving the price (or allowing it to drift up) to profit all along the way. It looked so good, the stock has been the highest-shorted on the US indices for several months. Even after the release of the 10-K, shares remain "hard to borrow" with elevated borrow fees.

Debunked Claims

The claims made by vocal short sellers could fill a book. Most were outrageous and fanciful when they were proposed. Virtually all have objectively debunked. This isn't a comprehensive list, as their claims are too numerous and varied. But it paints an illuminating picture.
With a track record this poor, one would expect the short sellers to exit - rather than continuing to spin new narratives. Perhaps the continued attacks are their exit strategy to avoid bankruptcy... Well, #Bullish.
With the highest short interest of all US stocks (albeit likely decreased from the highs of ~76% of the float), I think this is more than ripe for a return to fair value - or well above, if a short squeeze occurs.

Note that the list below deliberately excludes three types of posts/claims from the short sellers:
A) Juvenile personal attacks and attempts to character assassinate and dox a long list of people (RILY CEO, RILY new hires, RILY clients, Marcum the auditor, Marcum's lead audit professional, any firm or individual publicly posting a bull thesis on RILY, etc.).
B) Those that make no objective claims, but simply exist as a product of malicious degeneracy (like pictures of roasted pigs in ovens labeled Bryant Riley the CEO, photoshopped pictures of the CEO in prison chains next to convicted felons, video of an obese woman barely able to walk being gored by a bull labeled Mrs. Riley the CEO's wife, etc.).
C) Those that are impossible for short sellers to know, and impossible to objectively verify (e.g., Marc Cohodes claiming a single RILY trader front runs the CEOs personal short trades in front of clients taking following the firm's bullish advice on those stocks, to guarantee profits).

So here's the deal. I'm a paint and body kind a guy. Not a rebuilding engines kind of guy. Not even really much of a car performance kind of guy. After I get done painting my F150, I'm going to have quite a bit of blue and white paint left over. So, I plan on giving my 02 Escort ZX2 a touch up.
As kind of a tribute to the old 60's rally Escorts I'm going to paint it in the American racing colors (I know 60's escorts were British... but me, my car, and the company are American. Plus, I already have the blue and white paint.) It's white already, but it's going to end up white with two blue stripes over the top and a blue underbody. Maybe I'll do a car number on the doors. Maybe not.
But here's the thing, I don't want to have it looking like a rally racer, but then otherwise be completely bone stock. Also, performance parts made for late escorts are pretty much nonexistent.
Most things I see are adding turbos or superchargers... that just seems a little over my head. So far, I'm working on building a shaker hood (paint and body guy) so it can breath better. And shaker hoods are badass.
This thing isn't going to be in any races, but it'd nice if it could handle washboarded dirt roads with ease. I know coilovers, sway bars, etc also get recommended a lot, but A) I don't know much about them and B) I can barely find OEM/salvage parts for this car let alone performance parts. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Someone I know is traveling to the US next month, and I need them to pick up a large order from Best Buy. I want to ensure my international payment method will work before they arrive.
Details:

• I have a dollar account and prefer to pay online for in-store pickup.
• I tried purchasing a Google Play gift card, but the order was auto-cancelled due to a "fraud negative" issue.
• Customer service said there shouldn’t be any problems, but I’m still worried.

Questions:

• Has anyone experienced issues with international payments on Best Buy?
• Could my friend be denied at pickup due to the fraud check, even if the order is confirmed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m feeling anxious about this, as the items are very expensive locally.

I am about to paint Obi Wan but I do not want to buy three different colors just to paint his face. So I was wondering what the best single color to use would be. I am using citadel paints.

I have automated junctions, so all my trains deliver to a single Offload Point, but I am struggling to handle overflow. To make it easy, let's assume I am only dealing with Resin and Compound.
If the Resin Canister at my Offload Point is full, and the Resin Train can't unload any more Resin, it will just sit there at the Rail Junction, blocking the offload of Compound. So I need to send the Resin Train home, and keep it there, to allow Compound Trains to continue delivery.
The best solution I have come up with so far is a Storage Sensor on the Resin Canister. When the Resin Canister is Full, it goes to a Proximity Repeater that is positioned in such a way that it can activate the Train Car, but not the Rail Post, so it sends the Resin Train back, but doesn't call any trains. Then I also have that Storage Sensor go all the way out to the Auto Arm for the Resin Extractor and turn it off. As long as the Resin Canister is Full, the train will just sit at the Resin Extractor, not being loaded. Once the Resin Canister has room again, the Resin Train can deliver.
Anybody have any better ideas for handling this overflow?

Hello! Jokes aside from my title, I can tell a server if my order isn't correct on my own and I like pickles. However, I hope that paints a good picture to start with on what type of person I'm looking for. Also sorry, but not sorry for this being a book.
What/Who I'm looking for:

• Generally more assertive and independent because I'm more the opposite from the former and the same on the latter.
• Someone who will mostly have my back when I'm going through a difficult time, because I will sure as hell do the same in return.
• Someone who actually wants to make decisions as equals.
• Someone that is good at conveying what they're thinking/how they're feeling.
• I value kindness/compassion, honesty, rationality, and curiosity above all else.
• I'm just gonna put an arbitrary age range of like 22-33 as a guideline, but it's just that, a guideline.

What I bring to the table in return:

• Very carefree in things like decor, room arrangements, etc.
• I think I'm thoughtful and tend to do little stuff like make sure I ask if someone wants something on my way home.
• I also do my best to be observant, but realistically also sometimes miss really obvious things.
• I like making sure people I care about are taken care and use the previous traits to do that.
• As above, I'm independent and that's is also true in the financial department.
• Open to relocation, as I'm not really tied down by anything.

Possible deal-breakers:

• I'm somewhere around average-looking and currently chubby or fat, though that is improving and something that I have made and am continuing to make progress on.
• I'm like 99% certain that I never want any kids. Pets are a go, and I currently have some. I offer pictures
• I'm generally pretty left-leaning politically, but I'm pretty moderate.
• Probably the most important one is that I don't really have all my shit together. I'd say it's probably about 75% of the way together and I'm always working to improve that number.

Personality-wise(I wrote these last couple sections as paragraphs, sorry):
I'm fairly rational and honest. I talk way too much sometimes, especially when I'm passionate about something or excited. I do like alone time, or just sitting in silence together. I try to keep things lighthearted most of the time and I laugh at a giant amount of stupid things that probably aren't that funny. My humor is pretty cursed because I find some dark humor funny and just internet humor in general. I'm pretty whimsical and often like to try new things. I get really focused on things for a little while, then I kind of move onto whatever takes my attention away. Because of that, my hobbies are kind of a revolving door a lot of the time. I think my worst trait is that I sometimes genuinely have a hard time understanding people and their decisions.
Hobbies:
For my hobbies, it's all just kind of nerd hobbies for the most part. Most of my free time is spent playing video games with the occasional watching or reading something in between. I actually like and follow sports when I feel like it. Said sports being baseball and football. Despite being ingrained in internet culture, I do touch grass regularly. Some things that I'd like to do, but refuse to do alone are things like hiking and traveling. I also don't know if I'd really consider it a hobby, but I exercise.
Physical appearance:
I'm about 5'7 or 67 inches. I've got the old man balding genes, so I keep my hair rather short. I also keep my facial hair around as short. Both of which are brown, though my face has some other colors mixed in. I'm pretty broad. I'm overweight and working on it, as stated above. I have hazel eyes, but they usually like 90% brown and 10% green.
