I won the winter fishing competition and won some nice baits. Unfortunately I still have 200+ baits hanging on my fishing rod. Normally you remove them with a right click but how do you do that on a mobile phone? Can someone help me?

OK so the other day I go to the gym and then to get some groceries before work. On my way back to my car (black 2018 Hyundai Tuscon)about a block away I see a guy in sweats hanging around my passenger side window. I note that he's been there for awhile and quicken my pace. When I'm about to cross the street I see him jiggle my door handle a few times and look inside closely.
I drop my bags and ask him "wtf do you think you are doing bro?" - He says "I'm trying to get into my car" I say- "This is YOUR CAR?" Pointing to the car and then the license plate that we are standing in front of. He says "Yeah".
Note that now he's been around my car for a bit of time and I have some unique items on my car- including the license plate /bumper protector etc etc. I ask him again" This is your car?" He again says "This is my car". So I lost it a little and got up in his face and told him "Wrong motherf*cker. This is MY car and I'm about to knock you tf out of your sandals if you don't get smart quick." He says "My bad I THOUGHT it was my car" I said "Where's your car" he points to a 2022 black suburu forester and claims that's his car (he didn't unlock it or open it to prove it.)
I got even more pissed bc the cars aren't even remotely similar and I almost hit the guy but stopped myself bc I thought about the consequences and the life I have and I know in NYC, something like this, I'd go to jail for hitting this guy.
He sees my pause and starts baiting me- calling me a steroid freak and then calling me bald and fat and stupid and spits on my car and at my groceries. I approach to hit him and an old lady caught my attention and said "he's not worth it" It took everything I had but I didn't hit the guy. 10 years ago I wouldn't have even said another word, but today, I have a loving wife and family and a great job with alot of responsibilities and I just can't have a record. I genuinely believe the guy was breaking into my car or looking to. He looked like a dope head. He also reacted in a really guilty way.
If I could do it over I would try not to lead with violence or aggression but in the moment I kinda reverted to my old self and it took a minute for the logic to kick in.
AITA for loosing it for a bit there?
I feel conflicted - on one hand im embarrassed bc I didn't act logically at first and let my anger get the best of me, on the other hand I'm proud for showing restraint and not catching charges- on the other I'm illogically angry and unsatisfied bc I physically felt myself go there and I can't deny it would feel great to crack this guy a couple times right in his face.
even if he made an honest mistake- which I really don't think it was- the fact that he was baiting me and calling me names and spitting at me also made me really want to hit him. If the shoe were on the other foot- even if I didn't recognize my own car from a strangers - I would've been apologetic and de-escelated - not wildcatted and flipped out and baited the guy to hit me....

While many people complaining about dark system(force lose 50%) for me I complain about dark lag.
Basically yesterday no one wants to play support(classic classic match) so I pick diggie support. But the match is so lag that I can only see myself teleporting everywhere and skill delay. I even cannot move myself,cannot chat and the joystick is not working despite that I have to predict when clashing happen and I have to quickly spam ult and win the match.
MY KDA IS 0-13-7 and I get (auto system credit deduction -10 and additional -7 due to get report by teammates)despite we win the match.

For some reason, when i think of hero weaknesses i always think of Symmetra. Slow, clunky, bad sustain, low range, low mobility.
She just kind of walk around like a punching bag with her 12m beam, while everyone else in the game can move so fast, have free out of jail cards, etc. She just gets run over
Nowadays is also super rough to play her in high level soloque. She just can't keep up with the game. She's more team dependant than before, her core issue we are back to now.
What is the devs plan with her? She's in a bad state at the moment

Snipers need to get nerfed where they cant win everysingle gunfight against everygun.

It is statisticly proven that snipers can quickscope a shot in about 110-150 Milliseconds making them a way faster ttk than every smg, AR and 2 tap Guns. Ontop of powering through being shot and still being rewarded with the kills.
And lets not talk about Snipers being able to have movement like insane Strafeing and weopond switch cancels in between.

Sniper shots are more like 90/10 because of the Tap and hold Aim assist that gives sticky aim. I was a long-time Verizon customer for over 10 years, before leaving for Xfinity mobile, then coming back due to FIOS coming to my neighborhood. I am gobsmacked after year a how fundamentally and completely broken their entire account management system is. (Of note, Xfinity Mobile, despite all my expectations, worked very well for both hardware – it’s a Verizon skin — and software. A really good system.)
Every time I log in, I am asked to verify my identity through text message. Fine. A year ago, it started then asking me to open the app, and ask me to login again — with my credentials (the second time typing crednetials). OK, fine. Then, it asks me to select an account. It will show me both my phone number and email, the number which I think is leftover cruft from when they tried to combine my wireless account with FIOS. If you select the phone number, it won’t work and you have to start over. They want you to select your email.
If you select your email, it will then punt you through another couple screens.
However, while that happens, Verizon will text me a second link, that I can just click, without auth, which then logs in my account — making all the other screens just no longer necessary to navigate with.
I then log in and it says Hello (misspelled name). I have fixed my name spelling several times but it never sticks. Not on the site, not on correspondence.
Simply navigating to account information is hurt or miss.
My last bout of frustration came from a snail mail I got — addressed to my incorrectly spelled name — to renew my educator discount. Apparently, it’s lapsed, with no communication from them. They told me on the phone they emailed me and texted me warnings. Perhaps there was a buried email. There was certainly no text message.
This letter did not specify whether it was for Verizon FIOS or Wireless. While they now try to pretend there’s one account, there really isn’t.
I tried to renew the discount for FIOS first. It directs you to validate yourself through ID.me, which works well enough. Then it tells you to “check out again and your discount will be applied.” This process involves reordering server, authorizing a soft credit check (!), ordering a router or declining it (!!), and then setting up an installation date (!!!). After they wanted an install date, I gave up and cut bait.
I called them. Eventually they kick me over to Verizon wireless renewal, so I start that process on the phone. I do exactly what the person on the line does, explaining it over and over. The tech keeps telling me to “follow my directions.” I do, and explain literally step by step, and she says I‘m not listening. It does eventually validate me, which I try to tell the tech, reading literally the words on each screen as I walk through. She continues to tell me to do something that no screen ever corresponds to, scolding me for “not following directions.” I try to explain that her script or steps do not correspond to the web site, but it falls on deaf ears, until eventually she sees it worked
She then explains that my account discount lapsed, so they will charge me more for two months, but since I signed up within the actual final deadline (???), they will credit me back two months from now. For… reasons.
They were not always this broken. Thankfully, their physical infrastructure is solid. But good grief is the entire account system broken. I absolutely dread having to log in or try to do anything with my account at any time.

You can run Pi-hole at the same time on a Pi running Minecraft which is one of the biggest resource hogs. The Pi is capable of multitasking and can run more than one program and service at the same time. (Also known as "workload consolidation" by Intel people.) You're not going to damage your Pi by running too many things at once, so try running all your programs before worrying about needing more processing power or multiple Pis.

22. Q: I'm running my Pi with no monitor connected, how can I use VNC? A: First, do you really need a remote GUI? Try using ssh instead. If you're sure you want to access the GUI remotely then ssh in, type vncserver -depth 24 -geometry 1920x1080 and see what port it prints such as :1, :2, etc. Now connect your client to that.
23. Q: I want to do something that has been well documented and there are numerous tutorials showing how to do it on Linux. How can I do it on a Raspberry Pi? A: A Raspberry Pi is a full computer running Linux and doesn't use special stripped down embedded microcontroller versions of standard Linux software. I’ve been playing League since season 2 and the other day the thought occurred to me:
Lucian is the best champion ever designed.
In my 12 years of playing League, I’ve barely ever played Lucian except maybe a couple normal games throughout the years, so I’m not biased there. Almost all of my experience comes from playing with or against him.
The beauty lies in his simplicity, smooth/fast animations, and fun.
For starters, in 12 years of playing against him, never have I gotten angry or annoyed playing against him. He’s a fun champion to play against - as crazy as that sounds. He has no obnoxious CC, stealth, or extreme mobility spell that screams overpowered, and he’s super squishy and can always be killed easily at any point. In lane, he has to risk his body to go up for damage, and maintains a somewhat mid-range while only having 1 dash and almost nothing to protect himself. Those high pressure moments where a huge trade against Lucian is imminent are so exciting and fun to play.
As for playing with Lucian, again, it’s fun working with a high-risk champion who can make huge outplays. I’ve seen good Lucian teammates bait enemy engages, dodge, weave, and outplay. He also has a great dash and fast animations to quickly follow up on a trade/play at any moment.
In addition, Lucian is viable and fun at all levels, from low elo to Challenger to pro play. This can’t be said for many champions.
The only pain point I can think of for Lucian is how much better he synergizes with / enables Nami compared to any other support. This massive gap in power leads to balancing issues around each others’ existence, as we see so much Lucian/Nami being picked in solo queue and pro play.
In conclusion, I think Lucian is one of the best champions Riot ever designed. He’s aged well over the years and has never gotten too strong or weak. He is fun to play with and against and offers an exciting gameplay loop in lane. He has no obnoxiously OP outliers in his kit that many other champions rely on to be strong, rather the 4 abilities in his kit and passive are all well-balanced in power.

I learned the term "reactive abuse," after the worst night of my life. I face criminal charges, but I'd never been so afraid for my safety. My animals, everything I own, are stuck in this house. He has contacted me twice claiming the protection order the cops placed against me is "silly/stupid," saying he just wants to talk to me anyway. I did not respond, as i did not enjoy my only ever stay in jail over this and do not wish to invite another one. Texted my best friend twice, and even they barely responded (only enough to say he can chat with the police if he wants to chat with anyone). I feel so alone. And all I want in the whole world is for this to be over, for the police to tell me the order has been lifted, and then for him to call and say he's seen himself clearly and will be getting intense therapy to find out why he thinks it is okay to push someone so far that they don't recognize themselves and then SMIRK IN THEIR FACE when they react as crazy as he hoped to pretend they always were, and then bait them into admitting it on recording under the guise of "trying to work this out."
I'm desperate for this all to go away, desperate for him to hug me like he did when we first got together. To hold me like he will fall off the earth without me. For him to tell me I was wrong, that he loves me more than I love him, and that he definitely does not only love how much I love him.
And I know that's trauma. I am smart enough to not act on it, but my heart is dumb enough to still wish.

Unpopular opinion but I think submarines and CVs are not overpowered, specially with how gutted and nerfed submarines are.
I'll start with submarines first, after the "shotgun" mechanics were removed, submarines have essentially become useless. Cruisers and DDs just need to run down a sub and there is nothing a sub can do. I'll break down the current mechanics and all the interactions.
Submarines have 4 types of depth they go. Surface level, Periscope, Dive and Deep Dive. Even at surface level, subs are outpaced by DDs, Cruisers and even certain battleships. Submarine players should know this very well, spending half the game chasing a kiting battleship since the speed and range of the torpedoes are deceptively short. Even the U-2501 ranges are not exceptional as a kiting battleship 10km out will never be hit. The homing torpedoes are already subpar while the none homing torpedoes are absolutely useless due to low speed. Hydro now spots subs at all depths, which I don't even know why subs have this depth as they essentially getting instantly murdered.
People who complain about submarines and carriers are usually the loudest, wishing to yield only gun battles between the original 3 classes. Adding new classes to the game is not a bad thing and gate keepers of adding new mechanics are the very reason that hold games back. The most influential and overpowered class in the game is the destroyer. The destroyer dictates the terms of the fight, can infinitely spot, and has the mobility and low detection to get anywhere on the map. Not only that, as many people love to say the submarine has a get out of jail free card (at the expense of half it's speed), destroyers can instantly pop smoke to get out of a bad position and reposition to safer waters. Destroyers get a free pass because it's not a submarine. Anyways, here are my proposals to bring submarines into line into the game.

1. Remove the arming distance requirement entirely or reduce the distance to 1KM. Submarine primary damage comes from torpedoes. Remove homing torpedoes entirely with the exception of certain gimmick subs or nations.
   
2. DD's and CVs should be the direct counters to subs. CVs should have access to sub hunting plane squadrons with unique detection mechanics while CAs and BBs need their ASW toned down. Perhaps ships with aircraft on the deck get access to sub hunting planes.
   
3. The core mechanics of subs are similar to DDs. Infact you can argue that in the current state, DDs do what subs do but better. Subs have access to guns and subs should be able to use their secondaries, for example the U-2502 has machine guns. Subs should be a hybrid role.
   

Bottom line, revert back subs, instead ADD interactions. Ships with spotting planes should be able to access ASW planes instead of an instant click spam nuke. Carriers should have access to ASW planes while ships with Hydro ca detect subs with the exception of them going deep.
Also additionally, light cruisers and dedicated sub hunters should have access to new commander skills that help hunt subs. Instead of taking away subs to be useless, add the tools to be able fight them.

Hello! As this insane situation continues on, I’ve seen lots of comments about the Korean reaction to it. There have been lots of comments expressing bafflement that so many people around the world, but particularly in Korea, seem to be supporting MHJ. A lot of people have also expressed confusion (and sometimes anger) and question how this woman became a ‘feminist icon’ since her fiery press conference.
A lot of people have given brief explanations about how she appealed to the working class and how her anger resonated with the anger of so many young women in Korea. And indeed, MHJ support was most prevalent in online communities frequented by young or young adult women. So what gives?
I chanced upon this incredibly well written article, which explains just how MHJ was able have such a chokehold on the Korean general public, and all the ‘cultural context’ (very hot phrase these days lol) to understand MHJ’s angle. I’ve seen many of the points this article makes around on this subreddit, but not consolidated as well as this. It also conveniently summarizes this entire case (until the 17th anyway)!
I considered just adding it as a comment on the existing megathreads, but (excuse my greed) I wanted as many eyes on it as possible. And also this shit doesn't fit in a single comment...

What about Min Heejin is making people so fanatic?

The feud between HYBE and Min Heejin has become increasingly chaotic as days go by. In fact, now it is confusing to even try and remember what the initial cause of this feud. Both sides entered their first legal procedure on the 17th. This hearing was for a provisional injunction filed by Min Heejin (hence shortened to MHJ because I’m lazy), CEO of ADOR, to prohibit the use of HYBE’s voting rights (in the upcoming shareholder meeting).
This fight is being fiercely fought in the court of public opinion. The younger generation and female-dominated communities are supporting MHJ, while other sites seem more divided in their support for either side. Both HYBE and MHJ have been repeatedly exposing each other to try and sway public opinion, and on the 17th, there have been a deluge of articles airing each other’s dirty laundry. In particular, MHJ’s side’s method of winning the public opinion seemed to focus on diverting the discussion from issues like embezzlement and the takeover of management rights to generating negative public opinion towards HYBE. During this process, broader topics regarding the sustainable development of Kpop and many HYBE groups, such as ILLIT, Le Sserafim, and BTS have been targeted in these exposés. Currently, public opinion on most SNS platforms and majority of large communities are overwhelmingly critical of HYBE. This article will present and examine the stances and strategies of MHJ’s side that has resonated with the public in order to separate true and false.
When HYBE first publicized this case with the keyword ‘takeover of management rights,’ it looked as though MHJ was cornered at a cliff’s edge. To be able to completely turn the tides shows the enormous impact of that press conference. In truth, it was as if everyone had been bewitched. As soon as the conference ended, the internet exploded with talk about MHJ, and many TV journalists were busy praising it as “shocking.” What MHJ did exactly is ‘public agitation’ (used in a neutral sense). Her opponent during this press conference was not Bang Sihyuk but the ‘public,’ and her aim was not to clarify the existing accusations but to introduce her own. In doing this, she expanded the scope of the case and simultaneously seized the initiative. While many people evaluated the conference with keywords such as ‘honesty’ and ‘impulsiveness,’ in truth, it was meticulously prepared and controlled.
Her approach was effective because she presented topics that people could easily understand. The points of contention during this feud—embezzlement, control of management rights, and shareholder contracts—are difficult and tedious to understand without knowledge of corporate law. Initially, public opinion simplified the issue by criticizing MHJ as someone ungrateful to the company that supported her. This reaction was a form of false consciousness, following the perspective of the ruling class and lambasting her for throwing muddy water (i.e. to make dirty) on the current social order held by ‘money and corporate power.’
In this situation, MHJ broke the mold by creating a popular “narrative.” During the press conference, as if sharing the nitty-gritty details of her personal diary, she shared stories of a mother-daughter relationship with NewJeans, of the hardships of the working class, of the suffering of women under ‘fucking boomers (gae-jussis),’ and of the hypocrisies within the Kpop industry, weaving a Cinderella-like tale while casting the role of the evil stepsister to other idol groups with existing negative public opinion. She utilized intuitive topics that the general public could easily understand and threw out bait to fandoms who were used to discussing such topics as if experts, igniting the fuse on this explosive issue. MHJ positioned herself as a woman/motheworkeartist and claimed the position of the underdog/victim, while attributing HYBE with the label of oppressoassailant opposing these identities. The one word to perfectly tie the entire narrative together: ‘gae-jussi.’
This process unfolded like a monodrama, vividly expressing her unfiltered emotions. As she cried and laughed and raged and swore and shouted, an overwhelming flood of emotions—unimaginable in a typical press conference—swept through the audience, captivating their eyes and ears. In fact, this format was not unfamiliar to many people. It bore a resemblance to the emotions felt in ‘internet livestreaming.’ BJs (broadcast jockeys) on AfreecaTV conduct themselves similarly—crying, laughing, raging, swearing, and dissing others on camera. These intense emotions are then consumed as ‘tension’ and ‘dopamine’ by the audience. For the younger generation accustomed to such internet broadcasts, witnessing such scenes in a formal setting must have been both novel and familiar, and thus a fascinating experience. On the other hand, for those not familiar with such experiences, the press conference may have merely been ‘shocking’ or even deviant behavior. MHJ tailored her appeal to the dominant code of contemporary society, especially to that of the young internet masses.
Storytelling of a Good vs. Evil Narrative
In summary of MHJ’s actions, she adapted the narrative structure of the dispute, weaving a story by rearranging the roles of good and evil. She presented a simple and classic moral tale of good triumphing over evil and positioned herself on the side of virtue. From the press conference to her current interactions with the media, every topic MHJ has raised aims to portray HYBE as a public ‘villain’ and appeals to the public to judge ‘HYBE’s sins.’ In the name of this cause, topics such as the criticism of multi-label diversity, random photocard marketing tactics, and the recent claim of album pushing (sajaegi) have been summoned for her cause, even though they are not directly related to the dispute’s initial topic.
MHJ’s agitation is reminiscent of certain types of politicians who are gaining traction today: those who claim to represent the grassroots, the ‘common man,’ while stirring hostility towards the elite. A by-the-books populist tactic. They ride the wave of social conflict, stoking people’s anger and then presenting targets for that anger. MHJ also added a layer of nationalism to this conflict by calling out Miyawaki Sakura, a Japanese-born idol, and labeling her as an ‘outsider’ who was taking what is rightfully NewJeans’. In doing this, she insinuated that Korean women were being discriminated against because of a Japanese woman. Various ‘pro-Japanese’ conspiracy theories about LE SSERAFIM and HYBE circulating the dark recesses of YouTube and online communities stem from this anti-Japanese sentiment. (Note: the term ‘pro-Japanese’ used here is ‘친일파,’ a very loaded term attributed to pro-Japanese Koreans during Korea’s colonization by Japan. Much worse than just ‘traitor’)
The real danger is that her strategy punishes those who are not responsible. MHJ has directly named NewJeans, ILLIT, and LE SSERAFIM, and placed them in the roles of good and evil under the role of her and Bang’s “children.” The story of ILLIT copying NewJeans, and of NewJeans’ debut being delayed by LE SSERAFIM plays a central role in this Kpop ‘Cinderella’ story that MHJ has strategically revealed to establish her narrative. Prior hostility from encore and Coachella controversies were reignited towards LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT was dragged into the spotlight as a ‘fake NewJeans’ to be publicly shamed.
Public opinion was largely flipped due to the sadism and retributive psychology of a crowd immersed in the narrative of good triumphing over evil. After the press conference, malicious comments regarding ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM surged across communities, YouTube, and all social media platforms. LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT have done nothing but be contracted to a company and work under said company. And yet, they have become villains, not for any wrongful actions, but because they were on the opposite side of a narrative established in one press conference’s monodrama. The severity of these malicious comments has reached alarming and dangerous levels, with malicious comments not only flooding the group accounts but also individual members’ Instagram accounts, receiving thousands of likes. This wave of public opinion also extends to other celebrities who have collaborated with these groups, urging them to “distance themselves” while mockingly mentioning NewJeans. MHJ has continually brought up these groups and much of her current dominance in entertainment communities and social media platforms is largely supported by the hostile public opinion towards this group. This method of mobilizing public opinion is morally questionable and dangerous.
Misinformation Arising from the Narrativization of Reality
The “narrativization of reality” can be an easy means for the public to understand and engage with reality. However, it can also be a trap that distorts one’s perception by fitting that reality into the plot of a story. Facts that do not align with the good vs. evil narrative of MHJ vs. HYBE are dismissed, and those that neatly fit this mold are adopted and exaggerated. Under this framework, it is impossible to accurately understand the hot topic of “the reality of the Kpop industry” and only leads to inaccurate discussions and conclusions. The alleged wrongdoings of HYBE are isolated as purely HYBE’s faults rather than being connected to a broader reflection of the Kpop industry. This phenomenon arises as public agenda (i.e. societal issues) becomes co-opted as a weapon in the battle of public opinion.
MHJ receives significant support from the feminist perspective, as her situation is being viewed through a lens that criticizes a male-dominated society. This is likely due to the image and narrative MHJ has crafted for herself, portraying herself as a “female employee oppressed in a society full of fucking boomers/gae-jussis.” Like in many other fields, there is a consensus that protecting a “successful woman,” which is especially rare in the entertainment industry, from the attacks of male executives aligns with the values of feminism. The article “Before Pointing Fingers at This Woman for Being Eccentric” published by 한겨레21 is an example of this stance. This article evaluates the situation from a feminist perspective but does not consider MHJ’s past actions and values, rather simplistically placing her in the position of an individual woman against the universal norm of a male-dominated group. This is despite the fact that even during the press conference, MHJ revealed perspectives mirroring ‘toxic masculinity.’
By evaluating the ages of female trainees, the appearance of the NewJeans members, and equating womanhood with motherhood, she adheres more with patriarchal conventions. An older woman in the industry, labelling members of ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM—young women who are just setting foot in the industry—as ‘outsiders’ or ‘insiders’ is, even viewed from the kindest of lens, very far from the solidarity that feminism seeks. MHJ’s behavior as a creative director is also very far from feminist principles and often contradicts them. For instance, when the MV for NewJeans’ ‘OMG’ was released, there was controversy as she depicted the gender-based criticism against the group as actions of mentally ill haters (Note: explanation below). Additionally, the story that emerged on the 17th about a sexual harassment complaint involving ADOR’s deputy CEO, alleging that MHJ demanded the deputy CEO treat female employees with an overbearing attitude, is difficult to dismiss. It gives the impression that MHJ is not representing feminism but rather, using feminism as a tool in the battle for public opinion.
Attitudes demonstrating a positive evaluation of MHJ seems particularly strong in progressive media. This attraction towards MHJ is also understandable. She claimed a victory against the elite class using a populist framework and overturned the institutional media’s narrative with a single press conference. On YouTube and online communities, she has garnered considerable support from ‘grassroots’ communities. Her story is filled with elements that progressive media find compelling. However, this attraction should not replace an objective evaluation and reflection of the situation. MHJ’s press conference was inappropriate not just because she abandoned formal public speaking decorum. It was filled with morally and politically incorrect elements, and the emotions it stirred were the core mechanism that captivated public opinion. This spectacle, catharsis, and value inversion are not far removed from the foundation of what society has termed, ‘extreme right wing’.
The unfairness I feel becomes justification when self-rationalizing my behavior, and the dichotomy of ‘my children vs others’ children’ becomes moral legitimacy for my survivalism. This becomes the basis for believing that any action is excusable so long as it is directed towards those who have a reason to be criticized. Survivalism, retributive justice, ideologies instrumentalized for conflict, and the violence of the crowd… These concepts all resonate strongly with people’s social identities and are reflected in the enthusiasm for the press conference (Note: essentially, people feel strongly about their social identities of being a workewoman/man/etc and are prone to fall victim to the above traits). Many commentaries analyzing the ‘Min Heejin phenomenon’ have emerged, but none have questioned or reflected on this point. This may be evidence that the media and intellectuals ultimately view this incident as merely ‘celebrity gossip,’ downplaying its harm, but we must not overlook the fact that the codes of our society are embedded within it (translation into normal ass english: that this situation says a lot about Korean society and its people).
(Note on OMG MV, since it’s mostly a sexualization of minors and an age-thing in the West. The final scene, where someone writes ‘Am I the only one uncomfortable with the MV’s content’[뮤비 소재 나만 불편함?] is also worded quite similarly to a phrase “Unnie, am I the only one uncomfortable with this?” [언냐 이거 나만 불편함?], a phrase used in misogynistic and anti-feminist circles to mock feminists and how they complain online.)

They know we will eventually sacrifice the hostage, if we feel that's necessary. But they know our doctrine, that we have to do a cost benefit analysis and try to save the hostage if we can. They count on this to do the maximum damage as they retreat, if they can't turn the battle to their favor.
Unfortunately, a cost benefit analysis determined this unknown hostage could not be saved without unacceptable losses to the 6th Marines, and possibly jeopardizing the ground campaign on this world. At 0956, the determination was made to terminate the forward observer post with extreme prejudice.
A Plasma Mortar Smart Round was keyed to the coordinates and launched. ( A Holo Data link picture appears, showing the mortar in relation to the forward observer spot. A graphic represents the round launched, and a line with mathematical calculations represents its trajectory).
(The picture shifts back to the restrained slavegirl. You see shifty scrambling in the background) It appears all hostiles manning the outpost detected the launch and escaped without discernible casualties. (The hostage isn't so lucky, her desperate eyes track the flaming football descending on her position. She mmmphs and wiggles, her big breasts swaying. (The view shifts with no further commentary, which would be superfluous. We see Commander Gail to the left of a large viewscreen, Rear Admiral Mendez to the right. Gail puts her head in her hands and takes a moment to gather herself.)
Mendez: Commander-Nora, I'm sorry. I know that must be hard, especially after what happened to Captain Rommie. But I need you to understand what's going on down there. There are still fierce pockets of resistance. Stellar Compact Intelligence has confirmed that the Amazonians want to take you alive and make you a Whipping Girl, whomever does it will attain greater honor than even Commander Sappho capturing poor Rommie. Is a morale tour really worth it?
Gail (Raises her head, visibly pulls together) I know the risks, but understand why you showed that to me. I don't want to die at all, especially not like that. But war entails risks. I knew that when I pounded my fist on that table, and yelled at a conclave Admirals, that I risked Dismissal from Service, or even Court Martial. I know it now, and think it's important enough to do.
Mendez: It's not just you. The media has dubbed you the "Heroine Of Botany Bay" and "The Savioress Of The Stellar Compact" you being killed, or slowly tortured as a Whipping Girl, could devastate our morale at a critical juncture, even turn the tide of the war against us again!
(Mendez takes a deep breath, pauses)
Don't get me wrong, I care about your well being Commander. I lost one of the finest female command Officers I knew on my watch. If I lost another-I don't know if I could forgive-(The normally poised Admiral casts her head down and seems to be wiping away tears).

In wartime, it can be a Capitol one. The Admiral's Marine Guard starts to move in on the impertinent commander. The Admiral pulls herself together and waves them off).
Mendez (Grabs Gail's hand with her right, clasps it in both hands) Nora, the first time I saw you, you seemed ready to jump behind the Cybo-Chief Warrant Officer ASSHO to escape from my gaze. Now you're a battle tested hero. You've come a long way baby."
Nora: Ma'am, I never wanted to be a hero. I don't FEEL like one. All I ever wanted to do was be an explorer. Also show a society on the verge of revoking women's rights, that we ARE as capable as men. But now that I am one, it's not about me, it's about us, the Stellar Compact as a whole. Mendez (releases Gail's hand, looks stern again) Young woman, I could order you not to go ground side. (She gets a small, fond smile) an order you might choose not to obey. So I don't have to convene Court Martial proceedings, I give you permission. You be careful down there, Commander, or I will personally spank you like I used to do to my daughters!"
Gail (small smile) Ma'am, I have Chief Warrant Officer ASSHO protecting me-and Gabby-Staff Sergeant Perez and her Marines. I'd bet on them over a Regiment of N'Docc" any day!
Mendez (Stern and serious) Young lady, you may have to. Keep your head on a swivel. Dismissed.
(Nora salutes, the Admiral returns it, the meeting is over. Nora leaves the briefing room, her own Marine Guard falling in after her as she leaves).

Lara's perspective

This causes sometimes enraged reactions among a recently liberated civilian population. Violent acts against aid workers who treat the enemy are common. Military authority usually looks the other way if a victim is the "enemy" or someone known to treat them. Most incidents are blamed on "Insurgents" even when they're obviously not the culprit.

Hey everyone, currently writing this in the Papa John's parking lot. I cannot emphasize enough how Little Caesers ruined my life. I can't even stand to be within a mile of one. Hell, even legally, I'm banned from every Little Caesers in the United States for the crimes I was coerced into committing.
It all started 4 months ago. I (18M) was an average man with an average life. I was making $370K a year as an Onlyfans model. Honestly, to say I was an average man is an understatement. And let me tell you, that made my mood even better. I had a duty to fulfill. I started engaging with every employee, and every customer in the lobby. I even engaged with a packet of jalapeño cheddar dipping sauce, and I was shooting loads of crazy sauce all over the establishment. I felt like a hero. My girlfriend was astonished, looking at her manager on the floor in a pool of crazy sauce, blood, and a mix of jalapeño cheddar.
Now, I thought it was over and I could pick up my mobile order and go home and live happily ever after. But that's not all peeps. Remember when I got out of the car? I put it in neutral, not park. I knew I messed up, seeing the headlights getting closer and closer, I was literally a deer in headlights. then my car smashes through the front window, runs over the customers I just had an engaging time with, and slams into the counter and comes to a screeching halt.
I tried to go over to my girlfriend and comfort her, like any good partner would but she runs out of the restaurant screaming for help. Honestly, I was confused because I did nothing wrong. I was a hero that night.
The cops show up, I get arrested and I'm informed that my girlfriend filed for a breakup, and I'll be placed under investigation for multiple claims of domestic issues, arson, attempted harm, and manslaughter. I couldn't believe it, I knew I was the victim.
Anyways, I broke out of jail where I was awaiting trial and stole a minivan where I now sit, writing this in the Papa John's parking lot awaiting to start my first shift in an hour. I hope you all can sympathize with me, and give me advice as to what to do in these dark times.

Well here's a post where I'm almost inviting everyone to roast me for free, but it's reddit so I don't care. These are my negative opinions are whatever champions I have in this game (as of patch 5.1). I'll try to avoid problems due to 'damage creep' but due to 'design/game experience' problems. I would actually love if someone could share some insights that could change my opinions on any of these champions. Or you could be that angry redditor in the comments screaming away at me willing to die on a hill for your champion. Eithers fine.
You'll notice there's a general theme of "uninteractive", "there is no counterplay in XYZ scenario", and "effort-reward ratio" which equals to "This is not fucking fun to play against"
Tryndamere: Rework his ult. It's design is one of the most braindead and toxic things to deal with ever. It's not actually that bad in-game as I'm describing it because most champions have some gap closecc, it's just from the receiving end experiencing it I don't think anyone will describe it as 'it felt fun'. His ult design is basically a "I'm going to die, so let me try and turn on you for 5s and try to kill you." And since he takes ghost and flash, it either plays out as after a series of extremely good trades and well plays on your end, he suddenly turns on you and kills you, OR he plays extremely badly and gets a free get-out-of-jail card and runs away. Yes he still loses a massive amount of gold to the turret, but the universal response to dealing with a champion in this game is KILLING them, and tryndamere is the only champion that violates that. It's a really toxic and cheap design for an ult.
Singed: His entire playstyle is about avoiding interaction and wasting everyone's time as much as possible. It's just not conducive to the game design based on how the rest of the champions was designed; based on INTERACTION.
Sett: I can't say anything bad about sett I just strongly dislike how stupidly high his low his skill floor to impact ratio is. The most newbie player can just run at any tank, press ult, E, W and win his team the entire fight. Again, I'm not saying he doesn't require skill. He's actually a very hard champ to get good at. It's only that the worst players can pick him up and impact the game way bigger than they should be ever able to at their skill level.
Camille: Not a negative opinion but my own perference. Undo her rework, like, all the way to on-release. I stopped playing her because I enjoyed her difficult kit but she got oversimplified. Basically her old kit Q used to require re-tapping the ability to reactive, W only had bonus applied on the outer half instead of the entire cone (and I think no healing or no slow? I can't remember), and E had no cd refund and atkspd buff if you missed hookshot.
Yone: Please just delete this champion from this game. This guy for me is just riot's golden boy for the 200years meme. I don't care if his numbers were actually balanced, it's everything IN his kit that is just overloaded beyond saving. Hybrid damage, true damage, max health dmg, on demand shield, double crit, 2 abilties reduced by atkspd, 2 knockups, 3 gap closers, AOE on 3 abilties, zed's ult on a basic ability. He's also known for missing everything and still killing you because even if he misses his E and Ult, he can just gap close with 3rdQ and wail on you with Q and W for the same threat damage. Like wth?
Yasuo: I'm a yasuo main but even I won't defend his windwall. I think the rest of his kit is fine (especially since he has only 2 main damaging abilities, one gated behind a condition, and not 4 unlike yone which require 0 setup), but just something about his W being able to block entire ultimates and affect EVERY SINGLE ranged champion on the enemy team for FOUR seconds is just not right. Like there's just no counterplay. They don't even get to play the game. He definintely needs some sort of ranged peel since he is a melee adc but his windwall needs to be reworked in some way
Teemo: If you're a melee champion who has to deal with his camouflage lasting indefinitely in lane, it is some of the most degenerate playstyle I've ever experienced. There's just no counter to it. Every 25s, he just goes invis, blinds you, shts on you for 3 seconds, then dashes and runs away. This is if you're melee because you can't hide under tower and cs.
Lux: Undo her rework. Braindead as all hell. Too effective for how braindead she is, it's mindblowing. But her skin sells right
Kayn: His damage. It doesn't even matter what form you choose anymore. Well not that it did since his red form got buffed like 8 months ago
Evelynn: In soloQ, where you get punished for your team's mistakes, if you ever had to deal with a fed evelynn while you're playing adc....i think i would rather ff then have to put up with it. Especially when she reaches the point where she doesn't even need charm to kill you. Oh right, and if she takes electrocute she can do it lvl5 so she doesn't even need to be fed.
Yi: Draft diff. SoloQ. No CC = Depression. Like sometimes you first pick/second pick and then your team screws you over in champ select by not picking any CC even though the jungler blindpicks master yi. Like what do you do? Also has some really cheesy and cringe strats where the enemies can just turbo buff him with lulu/yuumi/shen and it is just SO turbo cringe to play against if your team has no HARD CC. Soft CC doesn't work (slows) . It must be exlcusively on-demand fast stuns, roots, taunts, etc. Not something like urgot's E beause it's too slow.
Ziggs: It's mostly about the laning experience for his opponents. Most uninteractive and degenerate playstyle I've experienced. You just sit 10 miles back, avoid any interaction, and lob bombs at the enemy. The only saving grace is that he is designed to be really punishable in-game by having a really low early mana pool so you can zone him away from minions. Oh and it you play any assassins you can give him ptsd. I know he's an artillery mage but it's just how low his interaction is in his intended gameplay design that really gets me...
Syndra: Same thing it's the laning experience for her opponents. Don't get me wrong, she has some really bad matchups. But, I'm talking if you play a short ranged champion, it's Ziggs 2.0 but worse. Except now you can't hide behind minions because her Q is a point and click, baiting it is almost pointless since you'll have to deal with it AGAIN in another 7s, she has a non-punishable mana pool so it doesn't matter if she spams every ability, which she does, and spams QE on cooldown to poke then stun you for free with no counterplay, and for all that she scales into an oppressive late game champion for free. Like, for how safe her laning is she doesn't get punished like Asol or Vlad AT ALL. Even if she misses, she doesn't get punished because she's 10yards back. If she misses her orb on E, the knockback is far and long enough that she can walk away perfectly fine. And if both hits, she ults you, procs electrocute, and kills you for free. The worst part is that with electrocute her ult damage early is actually significant enough that even you play any assassin you can't run at her and kill her for free unless you are at full health, which you will never be if you lane against her. Like, I think at least ziggs is fine since the counterplay is at worst you hide behind minions and stay even, but with syndra most of her abilties are point and click so if that specific case what do you do?
Zoe: Degenerate playstyle. She's actually decently hard to play given how easy she gets one shot by everyone in this meta but it's the fact she can 100-0 you from 2 screens away on cooldown. Maybe I just hate artillery mages.
Jayce: This might a wildrift damage problem thing and nothing to do with his kit, but his damage....just everything about his damage is wrong. The fact that he can unironically one shot you at level5 with just boots, has a gap closer and a disengage, and that he is allowed to spam his stupid AOE shockblast (so he doesn't even need to aim) that deals 100000damage on cooldown is just not right... He's basically a one-shot melee assassin but also gets to play ranged and spam his 10000million damage shockblock for free. Oh right, but he has a negative winrate because new players find him too difficult so they keep buffing him...
Samira: It's wildrush reset on takedown. You know how everyone hates katarina? Well her ult is a katarina ult that is MOVING. Meaning that you can be punished for your teammates mistakes which were not even your fault because she can now dash towards you. Imagine your frontliner just wanders in by himself, dies, and suddenly now samira flash ults into your face and wipes your team for your dumb teammate's mistake. She's really punishable into CC but drafting is something that no one does in soloQ. and if you just happen to play into a game where your team has no CC on boy does it feel so bad...
Tristanna: Too safe, scales for free. You know how people consider xayah an amazing soloQ champion because of her self peel? Yeah, tristanna ult may not be as good but he actually has 2. So unless you actually one shot him he's fine. And he scales even harder.
Pyke: The idea of a carry support is just fundementally wrong. Supports are not meant to carry because they are gold starved. So if you design a support to carry you better bet his kit is overloaded as all hell. And for pyke that's mainly that his ult resets. I hate reset champions. Just the threat that one ult can execute the entire enemy team below a certain threshold and MORE than DOUBLE the gold value is just not right.
Soraka: Undo her rework. Braindead healing bot.
Sona: I don't like her ult rework. It's just no fun to play against in teamfights because her ult has no counterplay. It's an on-demand AOE stun that remains in a zone for 3.5s. It's like TF's stun card but for everyone. It's like naut's ult but except instead of a delay it's instant. Instead of targetting just a single person it's an entire massive zone that basically forces you to face check it because it's so god damn big it ACTUALLY takes more time to walk around it than to get stunned for 1s. Your team could play around avoiding a teamwide AOE stun, but SOMEONE still has facecheck sona eventually to get her to use her ult. And when that happens there is NO counterplay to whoever's on the frontline (or whatever class they are most times not being an actual tank) getting separated from his entire team for 3.5s. So as long as you have a numbers advantage when you cast ult (which you will because it will separate the entire team) it might as well be a on-demand death sentence.
Yuumi: Delete this champion. Or here's a suggestion from vars that I agree with: Make her cost an inventory slot on her allies when attached, and nerf her hp into oblivion because she should NOT be allowed to be an actual champion for negating what every single other champion in the game has to deal with: POSITIONING To any yuumi mains, I apologize for what I'm about to say. Like, if you want to make a braindead champion that is lowkey meant for gfs to pickup to play with their bfs, fine, I have no problem with that. But don't make the champion as OP and effective as it is for how brainless you need to be to play her. She should be at A tier, max. Not S/Broken for I don't even know how many updates straight. The fact that like 2 of the top15 last season were yuumi only mains that were clearly riding off duoQ with their adc who probably actually sweated to get to challenger really bugs me.

My Mom (50’sF) has been unemployed for a couple of years now, and in the beginning I agreed to pay for all of her bills until either she or my brother got a job to help me out because what 20 something wants to give their entire paycheck to their mom? Well that’s exactly what I’m doing. She has lymphedema, and that’s not her fault but my family has spent thousands of dollars on equipment and treatments to fix it but she gets demotivated and stops trying after awhile, it’s to the point she struggles to get in and out of the car. Meanwhile my brother (20M) does nothing but play roblox all night and talk to his friends on discord. Sure he helps around the house sometimes but every time my mom picks me up from work (no car. Tried saving but my mom got into bankruptcy debt so all of it went to that. Which I’m also paying for and I guess she goes to jail if I stop.) she complains about how her legs are getting worse and it makes me so frustrated because your unemployed son is right there! Let him help you, I’m at work literally all day and can’t do anything about it. I did in the beginning, but if I’d kept doing it we would’ve been homeless by now cause I’m the only one out of the three working. 8 months ago, this very senior golden retriever was running around a ditch next to a busy highway, wife who is an ex-vet tech of 20 yrs, pulls over to help and realizes it's our neighbors dog per his id tag/collar, whom we've never had more than a hello and head nod from prior to this, she gets the dog wrangled and takes him back (over ½ miles from home) just to proceed to being yelled at about touching his dog and “she let him out the back fence on purpose” etc… it's crazy shit, but my wife did the right thing, said he's crazy and has moved on/forgotten. Dog saved, mission success.

Nice crisp morning this am, wife planting flowers in front garden bed, an approximately 6 months old cat gets ran over in the street basically right in front of her, on the opposite side of the street from our house. A small picket fence and sidewalk separated her from the street, she had a front row view and heard the “squish”-her tear soaked words. She's mortified and upset as any animal lover would be seeing that at 0730 in a rural quiet area, peacefully gardening with a morning coffee. She dawns some gloves and moves the cat off the street respectfully to the closest non sidewalk/road spot , as anyone living rurally understands clearing the roads from animals etc..., This side (opposite our side) has no sidewalk, but it's a gravel berm leading to said grumpy old man's unfenced front yard. She places the body basically on the berm, and there is a row of bushes, with the cat resting under the closest bush in the berm to the street, leaving the animal mostly visible but out of the way/road. Cat had a collar and tags so she knew it was a pet.
As a side note: She had her dog get ran over in front of her when she was 10 and is hyper paranoid still about our animals getting out. I respect it.

As my wife is walking back up our longish driveway to wash her hands and go back to her flowers, she hears “FUCK YOU YA STUPID CUNT” and sees him hurl the body of the cat by the tail, at her into the street and flips her off. She goes and grabs the cats body out of the street (again) and moves it to behind his back fence/alley and says “technically not your property, it's county’s responsibility now”. I was asleep and didn't see this interaction yet, but she said as she moved the cat he yelled all sleezy like “why don't you suck my dick bitch" So she said some basic shit talking back and stormed up the driveway
I wake up hearing our dogs flipping out cause “ALERT people amz yelling outsidez ALERT”. See her storming up the driveway, I haven't had a sip of coffee yet note you.
She tells me what happened. I look out and he's talking to his other sided neighbor, who witnessed the whole thing too pointing at our place, she's a boomer Karen too, who is 72 and they're friends.

I saw loads of sweat rolling down the wrinkles of his face and looked into his jaundice laiden eyes. Decided to beat him at his own game, stuck out my hand and he instinctively shook it.

If you're curious about my thoughts on previous Yakuza games, here are my much shorter (except for 4, thats pretty long too) reviews for Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3 (Remastered), and Yakuza 4 (Remastered).
All of my reviews are made pretty quickly after I finish the game, this was written right after I finished but I haven't posted it till a month later because its so long I thought no one would ever read this but whatever I gotta get my truth out there.
Per usual I played the remaster of Yakuza 5. I'm not sure of any outstanding changes or things of note like with 3 or 4, but if something I say is exclusive to the remaster please let me know! I may sound overly praising or overly critical of this game, who knows but please be kind when you tell me i'm an idiot for feeling the way I do! Lastly and most importantly please please please don't spoil future games in the comments! Also warning I'm way too active in the comments section.
Because I am an utter psycho and decided to write a fuckin bibles worth of yakuza 5 ramblings, Part 1 is just reviewing the plot and Part 2 goes over everything else. The Plot:
Like with Y4, I will discuss my thoughts on each section of the game rather than in one long chunk just because I find it more fun. I'm not even gonna try to not summarize this time because this game is so big it needs broken down.
Part 1: Kiryu
You might often find me compare Y5 to Y4 a lot in this review because they're honestly quite similar games and feel like a package. When I started playing 4 I was worried I wouldn't like playing as primarily strangers for a majority of the game, but one thing they did absolutely right was making Kiryu the final protagonist you play as in that game. So going into 5 I was very apprehensive about starting off with Kiryu, I worried they showed their hand too soon and that it would be difficult to stay invested the whole time.
With this feeling going into the game, I was immediately somewhat losing it over Kiryu being an incognito taxi driver with the worst disguise of all time (some sunglasses and a face mask, don't worry he's literally the only one in the game that seems to think it's a good disguise). Right off the bat, this game feels...sad. Kiryu watching Haruka giving an interview on the TV and storming out rather then defend her to some losers who don't get what ART is, was SAD. This part of the game felt so mundane for awhile, but not in a bad way! You wakeup as Kiryu, walk to work, drive your taxi, and go home late at night (usually) alone. The whole time my eyes were drawn to a facedown picture frame and wondering what it could be, but I certainly had a guess. Kiryu is going through a hard, isolating, and depressing time and you can feel that so well from the game and how they have you play as him. Anyways there's also a random gal named Mayumi that will not leave Kiryu alone despite him asking her to. All you're doing by the end of chapter one is going "Huhhhhhhh?" Anyways Kiryu is approached by two dudes named Morinaga and Aizawa in chapter 2, telling him Daigo was???? Kidnapped?? GASP.. Admittidly I wasn't too fond of this duo at first. One thing that was consistent through my playthrough is that I was completely incapable of predicting anything correctly, and it had felt like these two were gonna be my pals for the rest of the game and I just wasn't clicking with them. Not to mention this weird semi-one sided-romance going on with Mayumi.
In chapter 3, we begin with the most heartbreaking thing that could ever happen to me, Yakuza 3 superfan. Kiryu has been pushed out of running the orphanage by a lady named Miss Park. It's all making sense now. He does it so the orphanage can have money and so Haruka can follow her dreams. DOESNT MAKE IT EASIER TO DEAL WITH FOR ME :( . Then we meet Watase, first thoughts? I was like "god I hope this guy isn't the main villain he's kinda lame" Soon after we meet Aoyama and I thought literally the same thing. Clearly by this point in the game I didn't have the highest hopes. I was mostly sad and not liking most of the new characters. But then... things take a turn.
Mayumi was actually a spy! thank god honestly. Kiryu meets Aoyama again but then Morinaga shows up and fuckin kills Aoyama and says he buried Aizawa alive HOLY SHIT? and then soon after I'm told Majima is fucking dead. Figured he wasn't actually dead cuz I've seen pictures of him from later games but holy shit I somehow cried just at the THOUGHT of him being dead. Also at some point here we met a detective who is an important player in this story but at this point not too integral. Also before Kiryu leaves he picks up the picture frame and its the orphanage ;-;
Kiryu final thoughts: This part of the game was fantastic. I'm so glad they started with Kiryu in this case despite my initial unsureness with it. Chapter 4 especially is when everything really falls into place and starts going 100 miles an hour but I also love the slowness of the previous 3 chapters. I do wish we got more Morinaga as this is unfortunately the last we hear of him despite this being a wonderful set up to a really interesting villain. Mayumi was a pretty shit character per seemingly always with any full grown woman in Yakuza games. While I think it's cool she was secretly a spy she was clearly an afterthought as we never hear about her again so that's cool. Basically a mixed bag of new characters overall.
Part 2: Saejima
I jokingly said to myself "Wouldn't it be funny if I had to spend half of this section breaking out of prison again. Thank god that's not the case." and continued hanging out with Majima until I was arrested for two more years of serving my sentence and OH NO IM BACK IN THE BUILDING.
Yeah I was VERY unsure about breaking out of prison again being a good call. Thankfully, and sorry to Y4, this is a much better prison sequence. Another thing I was really unsure about was BALD SAEJIMA! But actually... it kinda slays harder? In Y4 he looks like that guy from the game The Hatred (an insult) maybe it wouldn't be so bad if bro washed or brushed it but he never did and so instead bald was a slay. Anyways We're dropped in at nearly the end of Saejima's serving period with his group of friends/cellmates, newest one being some dude named Baba. We are relentlessly tortured by the scariest man I've ever seen, Viktor Zsasz-I MEAN! Kugihara. Who's honestly scarier looking then Zsasz somehow. But it is ON because Viktor Zsasz framed my bestie Baba and I will not let that slide so I beat the fuck out of him and it's revealed Zsasz was instructed to be a dick to me. By who??????????????????? Then it's double revealed to me that Majima is dead and I'm sad all over again :(
Turns out our warden is actually really chill and nice and somewhat tries to help us survive. What a breath of fresh air after Satan (Saito) from Y4. This guy is so cool infact we are encouraged to break out by him. So Baba and I do in the dead of the night and tell me why I cried over leaving my two other cellmates ;_; they were such bros. Zsasz hinders my escape and we fight, but my absolute PAL Himura fuckin shoots him it was an amazing turn of events and I cheered so loud and was devastated to leave him behind but anyways-
FUCK YEA SNOW MOBILES (they were kinda jank to control honestly but its the thought that counts). I am so glad I didn't know I was going to be fighting a bear going into this because that was easily the most camp thing ever and so hilarious. Then some old guy saves me (and later Baba) and we chill in the mountains for a little while. The mountain has a whole crazy detailed side story of it's own that I'll explain in more detail later but basically it was cool.
So then a ton of important stuff happens in Tsukimino, most notably we hang out with Baba in a bar which is great because I love Baba and him and I are super tight and he's easily the only person I could ever trust at this point without potential for betrayal! :)
Anyways me and Baba fuckin kidnap this guy because his chair is by a sewer manhole? He's gone in a flash so all I can imagine is dragging him down the hole by his ankle or something. Then we talk for awhile, Majima is mentioned woohoo, THEN HE'S sniped! The way I gasped. Longstory short :( Baba is the one who sniped him and not only that he kind of set everything up and wasn't my best pal all along :( Why Baba Why? Then Baba basically confesses his love for Saejima and can't go through with killing him, AAAAAAND Im back on the Baba train. That detective I mentioned from earlier arrests Saejima but not to throw him back in jail, to assemble the Yakuza avengers.
Final Saejima thoughts: This was shockingly fantastic. I was probably least impressed with Saejima's section in Y4, so it was shocking to have basically the same structure and general narrative beats but done well. It wasn't perfect, I didn't love it as much as Kiryu's section as I'm partial to a slow burn, but it was fun I have no real complaints, except MAYBE more then one chapter in Tsukimino would be a better choice.
Part 3 (first half): Haruka
I did not know I was going to get the HONOR of playing Haruka going into this game. We start off very strong, dancing to the greatest song of all time "So Much More." I mean we really get the full idol experience here with mean ass teachers and shady management. I didn't expect to get an Idol simulator in my Yakuza game but it might be the best thing ever. I decided right off the bat to put everything I had into this section of the game so immediately I did literally everything I could. Most of this chapter feels like a bit of a reflection of Kiryu's were working and going back home alone, it's all as monotonous and isolating as can be (except you're a predebut idol) and I love this. We quickly meet a girl who will serve as my bestie named Akari and yes I indeed would die for her thank you. Meeting Akari introduces us to this sections version of combat, DANCE BATTLES! I know some people might be disappointed you don't get to punch people as Haruka, and I get that, but this feels like a more genuine gameplay style for her character. It's hard to imagine Haruka fighting thugs in the street due to her personality (not that i'd be against it, especially after that weird virtual reality game where I get to wack dudes with a wand) plus I found this gameplay style so refreshing. I was never groaning or sighing because I had to dance against someone. I think it helps that I wasn't forced to do it 15 times in a row walking down the street, but I had the option to most of the time unless it was part of a quest. Maybe that's how all the gameplay should be? I don't mind being approached by thugs sometimes but it always feels like it happens too often in these games and with getting the option to while getting to walk around carefree otherwise in Haruka's section was just SO NICE.
Anyways, We get the whole set up here, we are participating in a competition show that will single handedly set the course for our debut. We're competing against this band called T-set. I hate them so much. They're so mean :(. At some point we see Miss Park absolutely SLAY and tell off Haruka's dance teacher and she doesn't take his shit at all. At this point I was like "Uh ohhhh I don't wanna like her but...she kinda rocks" my decent into stanning Miss Park only continues from there. We have to go convince some guy named Christina (interesting name to take but also a slay, much respect to Mr. Christina and his fedora) to be our new dance instructor. This causes drama with me and Akari which devastated me because I love Akari but we made up like immediately so it's chill.
Then at one point, I forgot the context, Haruka is shopping for a gift for Miss Park when stupid T-set shows up and STEPS ON THE BROACH I BOUGHT FOR HER. I was back and forth on them until now, now they may burn in hell. Especially after they made Haruka get on her knees and beg for forgiveness like ???? what gives ??? Park shows up and SLAYS and gets rid of them. Park then wears the broach :(((((((((
Then one of my favorite parts happen in chapter 2, Haruka and Miss Park go hit the town and just bond together. It's so stinking cute I wanted to cry. This whole time I was trying to not get emotionally attached to Park because it really felt like she was gonna end up betraying us. But the night continued and we get some mother daughter vibes going, even so far as holding hands????? Also Im somewhat glad I didn't get to wear the outfit I bought at the store with Park because I was going for a Cheetah girls inspired look then realized far too late how tacky that might come off, not everyone is Raven Symone ya know?
Anyways at this point I'm like wow this is the cutest game ever, nothing can ever go wrong, Park MIGHT betray me but I don't even care. She gives us a cool pen and a tragic anime backstory with an abusive ex husband and everything and we call it a night Well the next fuckin day my world crumbles because PARK IS DEAD! She "committed suicide" as if!
Part 3 (second half): Akiyama
I can't tell you how devastated I was to realize I'd only get to play as Akiyama for half of a section of the game. However, I was also thrilled to see him at all. Apparently he's opening a Satenbori office and also he is the one who financed Park's dream to debut Haruka so that's how he has a hand in all this. There is tragically very little Hana, she calls you twice and both times were fantastic but I wish I had more :(. Anyways Akiyama has heard about Park's death and goes to the office and meets Haruka. I didn't think they'd even really know each other and assumed we'd have an interesting reveal that they both know Kiryu later but nah they know each other. It honestly probably works better this way because we don't have time for such trivial things! Akiyama is a fuckin detective now. I don't know why he has been tasked to do this but he does it so well I don't even mind. He quickly figures out Park didn't actually kill herself and they simply need evidence to prove this. I'm unsure when this happens but at some point while talking about the mystery SOMEONE FALLS OFF THE ROOF! It was Horie :( who I haven't mentioned yet but he's my manager and a real pal. Thankfully he lived but we found out that the former dance teacher pushed him off. I think he also killed Park or Kanai did, who knows, either way someone did and they suck for it.
Chapter 4 has a lot going on, but basically the president of Osaka talent is sus and he's also the secret chairman of Ousaka Enterprises, which is a different thing... but sounds similar. Ousaka is basically a higher up family in the Omi alliance, so he's part of the bad yakuza!!! Haruka keeps doing the competition and T-set keeps sucking. She wins the princess league by a landslide. I don't even see the point in a third round if she won both of the other rounds? Is the third round just worth more points? Either way Haruka destroyed them and they suck. Her poor vocal instructor is working as her manager now. At some point we find out Parks ex husband was none other then Majima! Which is quite the revelation. Japan is such a small world, everyone seems to know each other. This does mean that Majima at least hit Park (I think after her abortion) and I think he's like 10 years older then her yet they were already married when she debuted at eighteen... Is it time for me to confront the possibility that my favorite crazed murderer might not be the most upstanding citizen?
It ends with Haruka being kidnapped, (nothing out of character there), and Akiyama saving her. He and Haruka make their way to Japan for the big ole concert Park had been planning. Wow this story is really picking up! I hope nothing grinds it to a sudden stop!
Part 3 final thoughts: God this was amazing, every step of it. My only complaint is I wanted more, more Akiyama and MORE dancing but I might be the only one who wanted 40 more hours of dancing. Detective Akiyama and Haruka duo was not the team I knew I needed but Im glad it happened. I found all of the music and gameplay here SO fun and I loved the plot too. I really liked Parks character. I wouldn't necessarily hang out with her, but I found her to be pretty well written and its hard to hate anyone Haruka clearly treasures, I am very sad she is actually dead because up until the end of the game I kept thinking she was going to come back.
Part 4: Shinada:
We have come to a sudden stop. We start with a flashback to 1997 where Shinada has debuted as a baseball player for the wyverns, don't forget this moment because the rest of this section of the game constantly calls back to it. In the modern day Shinada is a loser who is really heavily indebt and lives in a weird grimey rooftop shack. He also now writes like ? smut articles ? And he's friend with a girl named Milky which is the craziest name I've ever heard. A loanshark who talks about his kids a lot constantly follows Shinada around and takes his money. There was a lot of promise with this gag, like maybe instead of letting me keep the 100k and still acting like I'm broke he shows up after every side mission to rob me but nope. At the end of the chapter we run into a masked man who is frankly just Daigo stealing Kiryu's disguise idea.
Shinada and loanshark (his name is Takasugi) walk around town looking for leads on uncovering the truth of Shinada's past. Because you see, Shinada one time got fired from baseball cuz everyone thought he cheated, oh you already knew that? yeah same but don't worry you'll hear it at least 40 more times. Daigo asked him to go look for clues about this, why does he care? I still don't know honestly. Takasugi is forcing him to go because...I guess money? and he's walking around with me and were acting like friends now for some reason. Shinada is incapable of having any agency for himself, he just does what people tell him to. He also keeps nearly dying like a looney tunes character with shit falling out of the sky and stuff. Eventually we find out the Nagoya family fixed the match and then some guy Shinada used to know does get smashed like a looney tunes character. Skip ahead, were called to help by Milky and she betrayed us. I am sad cuz I thought Milky was a friend for life. Turns out literally everyone Shinada knows aside from the fkn loanshark are evil, even the old baseball lady. This plot was so convoluted I frankly don't understand why they were doing what they were doing, all I know is they were more like a neighborhood watch situation then Yakuza even though they seemed to do the exact same thing. Also when I say literally everyone he knows is evil I mean everyone, even his old coach or whatever. For way too long I thought they meant the middle school baseball coach so I was hella confused. Anyways we then find out that actually Takasugi is Shinada's number one baseball fan. Okay? Anyways
Chapter 4 things finally pick up a little. Daigo reveals himself like anyone ever was doubting it was him, and he also reveals he cares because he went to highschool with Shinada. Is that fr how were connecting this? Daigo got expelled from highschool because he protected Shinada from a rival school. Once again, okay? I guess Shinada doesn't like that Daigo is a yakuza and punches him out the door. I wasn't a fan of this. Daigo goes down pretty easily, pitiful Daigo strikes again. I love him but can he do anything right? Anyways I guess the fight meant nothing cuz they're pals now and go to Tokyo together. We get a cut to Takasugi getting his money back from Shinada as well as a signed baseball...okay that's really cute I nearly cried. I wish they actually left it there but instead Shinada runs away last minute to meet up on that stupid baseball field from 1997 that we cant go 5 minutes without hearing about and we fight this guy named Sawada who was like the kind of mastermind and also the pitcher. Had Sawada not thrown an easy pitch, Shinada wouldn't have hit it and thus been kicked out for cheating. We fight some Omi then play baseball and OMG WHY ARE WE DOING THISSSSSS
Finally it ends and we go to Tokyo
Shinada final thoughts: If you cant tell I was not a fan of this. I found Shinada to be really inconsitently written. In side missions or when he's playing off of certain characters he's quite entertaining and un, but most of the time, he seems to just be a blank slate who does whatever and only talks about baseball. And omg maybe if I liked baseball this would have been the best thing ever but we did not need THAT much baseball talk or constant referencing to that baseball game in 1997. I get its central to his character but it became a meme how often he'd get misty eyed and talk about getting kicked out. Why did he move Nagoya to escape his image as a cheating baseball player when 1) he constantly talks about it anyways, 2) everyone literally knows who he is here anyways. They make it seem like at first he wants nothing to do with baseball anymore but he also goes to the batting cages all the time and also thinks about nothing but baseball. The plot here is just SO hard to follow and not at all what I want to be dealing with after we were really in the thick of things with part 3's ending. I'm not saying it was impossible for this to be good, I think there was so much potential here! Like seemingly all of Yakuza 4, the concepts are there but the execution is iffy. I think it's biggest downfall is when it happens. It would have made so much more sense to make the last section before the finale the Haruka section. Shinada would have felt much better to play as maybe as a part two or even a part three, but NOT part four. The odds were stacked against him being amongst a cast of characters that I already know and love. I definitely was more of a Tanimura fan, but I liked Shinada as a person. His inconsistent writing, unfortunate story, and tendency to be a little annoying really dragged this part of the game down for me.
Part 5: The Finale
This finale is crazyyyyyyy so strap in. I would expect nothing less then insanity from this game. First Kiryu shows up in Kamurocho WERE HOME BABYYYYYY. Were being followed by BABA!! I missed him. We fight for fun or something then we cut to Saejima who is meeting with the detective who tells us we gotta find Morinaga. OH YEAH THAT GUY. So we go to the Florist and we go to the arena only to find... AIZAWA??? The fuck? I thought Morinaga fuckin killed him cold blooded and made me think he was a cool as fuck villain. Only to find out that GASP Morinaga is actually dead. At this point I literally don't believe it because I guess I was in my era of not believing anyone ever dies.
We go to Akiyama who is told by Osaka ceo to not let Haruka perform. Akiayam says hell no. We also find out that Park and him planned to make Haruka and T-set a group and debut them at the same time but I somehow missed this when playing and didnt realize that till way leter. ANYWAY At some point we also see the CEO doing naked push ups in his penthouse which was so weird. ALSO there is a Date-san reveal. The scream I screamt! I didn't know I missed him or needing him so much in a game till I saw him again. Usually I'm wondering why he's even there or what he adds but I finally get it now, he adds being Date to the table and that's all you need.
Then I do a tower sweep at Kamurocho hills and OMG is this what Majima was building the whole time? To be fully honest it's beautiful and im very proud but its so different and lowkey off-putting. Kind of like Majima himself. I miss him. A whole game and I only be hearing about him second hand its not fair. Question, did literally anyone choose Saejima to do the tower sweep? Anyway were on the top of the tower; Kiryu, Saejima, CEO Katsuya, and Watase. We all have to fight eachother to draw out the one true bad guy and also cuz this is a yakuza game, so off our shirts go and everyone fights. Basically everyone gets shot and the bad guy is revealed... THE DETECTIVE. Who saw it coming? I still kept thinking Park would come back or Morinaga but by this point I was definitely suspecting him too. I don't fully get why he's doing all this but long story short he's purging both the Omi and Tojo of nice? Yakuza? I guess? I think it mostly has to do with him making way for his son to inherit a role in everything but thats not further explored till later. Not to worry tho! Daigo has shown up!!!! But because he is Daigo you should definitely be worried because once again he cant do anything right and he gets shot by Kanai. God dammit Daigo. He is now in critical condition, this is the SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED DAIGO. He's such a damsel in distress, never change.
Baba tells Haruka the message Kiryu had for her, to never give up. He also asks her to come with him to convince to Kiryu to chillax but she refuses. Sad for no one but me. At the New Serena, where that absolute BOP of a song is blaring, Kiryu is sleeping, while the rest of the crew are chilling and chatting. I forgot to mention Akiyama and Shinada briefly teamed up but frankly who cares. Shinada talks about baseball alot here too just incase you were worried he wouldnt. They conclude that detective bad guy is gonna attack Haruka's concert which I will NEVER allow. I guess Shinada's purpose here is actually tha the knows the stadiuk layout pretty well which I will buy in to. Also I believe here Haruka gets told about her and t-set being a band together now called Dreamline. I also dont love this. The idea of it is fine, Im all for a disney channel original movie plot where the bullies are actually great and we all become friends at the end but the issue is they don't properly develop T-set to do that. The short haired girl gets one little moment of being somewhat nice to Haruka then the very next time I see her she's stepping on my boss's broach and making me beg on my knees like sorry but it's really hard to come around on liking them. Even now when Haruka stumbles duing practice they're rude! This is a tragic ending if anything but Haruka seems happy I guess... Dont worry they will be nothing more then Haruka's glorifed backup dancers.
Okay final chapter, and it's a doozy. We send Shinada of all people to go help Haruka at the stadium, I know i just said I get he knows the layout of the stadium but like :( he's literally the only one who hasn't met her. I guess they don't end up interacting really anyways. Saejima is going to go after Majima because btw he's alive and at the top of the millenium tower. Akiyama and Kiryu stay on the ground to defend against attackers and they probably punch/ kick at least 10000 men. All the while Haruka gives her concert. But Baba is lurking and gonna shoot her, I thought he learned to be good again but whatever. Him and Shinada end up having a confrontation that ends in Baba losing and he's about to kill himself when !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my prison besties and the wardon show and up stop him! Oh my god I loved that so much what a nice resolution for Baba and I love that those guys went straight to a Jpop concert just for their pal. Meanwhile Saejima confronts Detective evil man on top of the millenium tower and !!! there he is, finally Majima is here. But he is not having a good time, turns out he's allowed himself to be captured and tortured for the sake of Haruka and now Majima and Saejima have to fight for the same reason. Then! Daigo shows up, while im literally begging him to actually shoot the bad guy but instead they all talk. Haruka is safe from harm (Baba wouldn't have done that shit anyways) and we officially learn about the plot of him attempting to put his son in charge of everything. Kiryu goes to Tojo headquarters to stop whoever this suspicious son is and Akiyama fights Kanai. Then literally all our friends ever show up to help and that was damn cute.
Kiryu shows up and it's eerie, completely silent with dead people everywhere. We go to the meeting room and the guy behind it all along was Aizawa. I definitely did not see that coming because I forgot he existed. But I suppose thats the point, he was so unassuming. I guess that means Morinaga actually was dead all along. We fight Aizawa while Haruka sings a song that seems very pointed at Kiryu wins (duh) but he is not doing well and tries to make his way through the streets. Meanwhile Haruka announces her retirement because she cant hide who she is or stay away from her family any longer and runs away to find Kiryu and THE GAME ENDS. Other games gave me a after credits scene that somewhat eased my concerns, but 5 is a overall very sad game and it's scene is her managing to him but he's bleeding out in the streets and falls unconcious in her arms.
Finale final thoughts: This was quite the finale! It was much better then Shinada's section but it was still a bit messy and left a lot of plot threads up in the air or had some unfortunate revelations. Nothing bad but things I think shouldve maybe been revealed earlier, like Aizawa. Only finding out with like 20 minutes of the game to go makes it feel too empty or even rushed when we know this game is otherwise not rushed at all. I was a little sad about the ending, I don't think it was bad at all I was just sad. The whole time I imagined it ending with the whole gang going to Haruka's concert and having a good time. For once I dont think the game fully dropped the ball on the finale like they tend to do so I commend it for that.
TLDOverall plot final thoughts: As a whole this is one of the most well written Yakuza stories since Yakuza 3 (obviously in my opinion). I can see that for some people all the plot twists and surprises might have felt like too much but I loved it, I never once could predict where this game was going. Morinaga dying off screen was such a let down and missed opportunity, at the end of Kiryu's section I was thinking he was going to be the best Yakuza villain in awhile but instead he went out in such a lame way. I do kinda wonder who killed him, I assumed it was just the detective guy but Aizawa seemed at least somewhat sad about Morinaga's death. I wonder if that was all a show? Another thing I dislike not just because of how it went, but also that it ended up going no where, Mayumi. They made quite the big deal about her at first and I do like the plot twist that she was a spy, but she wasn't even really acting any different when she was in spy mode and in normal mode. Plus you literally never see her again. I think Saejima's section was just very reminicent of his in 4, but done well. Aside from it taking quite so long to get to the city, by the time you leave it feels slightly rushed. I think the chapter in the woods didnt need to be its own thing. Absolutely no notes with Haruka, only that I'm sad this is all we will see of Park, I found her to be a really interesting character. Akiyama is where my main issues arise, only because I really do think he needed his whole section. He felt a little tacked on otherwise when I think he really didn't need to feel that way. I had hoped he would be part of half of Haruka's section then half of Shinada's where he is used to introduce us to Shinada as a character. But instead we get dropped into that like nothing. I know im probably the only one who cares about Hana this much but I really wish we got more of her. I basically said all my issues with Shinada at the end of his section but once again, I really didn't enjoy that plot. The finale was a mess and unfortunatly left at quite a cliff hanger which I wouldve rather it didn't but Im also okay with how it did. Some other things I wanted in this game was MORE MAJIMA I get why he wasnt for narrative purposes but Im gonna say that in every game. I wouldve loved more Okinawa orphan content. That being said there is way more content for them in this then in Y4 which is wild considering we spent like 5 seconds in Okinawa during a flashback and you never actually see them. It was so nice to hear what theyre up to second hand and some of the side missions expand on them a little more but I am devastated they werent there.
Lastly to briefly compare it to Y4, as they do feel like connected games. Y5 realy does feel like they took all of the concepts of the 4th game that needed to be reworked, and then re-did them to be better. The villains are better, prison break outs are better, and just like way more. I do think there are things in Y5 that are lacking compared to Y4, like general atmosphere, and I do think Tanimura's section in 4, as flawed as it is, is better then Shinadas. Akiyama's in 5 is great, but I love his in Y4 more simply because he doesn't have to share the spotlight. But I really have to emphasize, story and character are done better in Y5, ATMOSPHERE is done so much better in Y5.
TLDR for the TLDR: I liked this game :)
And there you have it, the longest goddamn review of all time. It was a really great game and I wish I could play it for the first time again because it was just SUCH a great experience. As for my rating, It was going to be a 10/10 until I got to Shinada's section now I'm in between an 8 or a 9. Ill just say 8/10 to be mean.
