Below is a quick review on my trip on Wots, it was amazing and we loved it, the crew was the best and we met new friends along the way
Day1 - Saturday
Landed Gate C, MCO waited a good 40 minutes for our bags, called hotel for complimentary shuttle and waited 5 min at the curb, checked into courtyard Marriott in Orlando, walked to dinner at TGIF headed back to bed early.

Day2 – Sunday boarding day
Breakfast at hotel. Uber to port Canaveral $68 after tip. Handed bags to porter and walked onboard. Waited in line to book our 3-day dinner package. Picked up our free cups. Free bracelet. Solarium for lunch. Got drinks. Explored the ship, found front spot I solarium for sendoff. Went to room received 1 luggage at 3pm but state room attendant found our other bag for us. Waited in room till 5 PM dinner in MDR. Good food. Guest service to fix reservation time. Solarium pool and hot tub all night.

Day3 – Monday CocoCay
Woke up and looked out window to see Celebrity Beyond already docked (beautiful Ship). Windjammer breakfast. Packed bag and put on Bathing suits, walked to S beach. Swam to bar. Hung out on sandbar. Had lunch (birds were crazy). Headed to ship early (ship was empty). Solarium pools. Table Tennis. Showered watched send off from room with ship-to-ship horn battle. Dinner at 5 pasta night. Bought tampons in store ($8 for 10 cardboard tubes). Hung at park listened to jazz, 3 drinks at trellis bar. Attic for adult comedy. Bed

Day4 – Tuesday Sea Day
Boardwalk Cafe. Johny rockets for pancakes. Hangout aft jogging track to watch the waves. Walked to room. Solarium hot tubs pool. Lunch MDR. Walked Ship. Alpha Alpha Call. The Abyss. Room. Solarium for drinks and people watch. Nap. Jazz in park, 150 Central Park for Dinner. Food was delicious smaller portions FRIED CHEESECAKE FTW! Bed.

Day5 – Wednesday St. Thomas
Windjammer for quick Breakfast. Solarium to watch docking process. Windjammer for lunch. Crazy taxi to Magen’s Bay. Hit the water and made friends who gave us free zinc sunscreen and drinks, also there were small jelly fish larvae that stung us the entire time. (didn’t hurt more of an annoyance). Taxi back to the ship where we showered and hung out on the balcony. Formal night and we went to Chops Grill where I had the best Fillet of my life. Bed
For taxi it was $15 a person one way and $6 pp to get into the beach. Total spent $82 with tip.

Day6 – Thursday St. Maarten
Parking Café for Breakfast and Coffee. Drank Coffee in promenade for dock in.
Then we walked to the excursion. Excursion – Captain Bobs, 15 min walk from the boat where we checked in with Captain Brett I will no spoil the excursion as there are thousands of good reviews on trip adviser, I can’t say more than good things it was worth the money as it was the highlight of the entire trip.
Shower and nap. Mason jar for dinner (not worth is IMO as it tasted like boring BBQ) Aqua Show was inTENse, awesome show, Bed

Day7 – Friday Sea Day
Sleep in. Coffee and leftover for breakfast on private balcony. Solarium to hang. Walk around ship. Every pool and hot tub is max capacity. Hear we going to Turks for a crew member emergency, all we know is that they were flown to Miami. Hangout in room afternoon and received the dreadful disembark paperwork. Dinner at MDR. We wore out bathing suits under out clothes and hit slides then the Solarium Pool as because of dinner they were EMPTY. 365 ice show which was awesome and the best show we saw. Bed

Day8 – Saturday Sea Day
Woke up to watch sunrise at 605 AM. Then slept in. Breakfast at windjammer for the hash browns. Last Rubber Duck hunt as we found 4 total all week and re hid 2 for the kids. Walked the Ship. Taste of Royal at 150, Upset that it was not wonderland as was posted. Meals were underrated and the time in between courses was 20+ min long very boring. Also, wine pairing is extra $. Took over 2 hours.
Casino to check things out. Hang out on balcony then Dinner MDR, Casino and left happy with some winnings, pool rest of the night. Hit the solarium and we were the only 2 people in the pool with a full ship, met up with new friends we made to say goodbye. Back to room to pack.

Day9 – Sunday Disembark
Woke up 545. Both showered. Breakfast at Solarium Bistro, off the boat with our bags at 730. We chose to self-disembark to not deal with the hassle of finding out bags to walked straight to GO Port to bring us back to MCO
bus left and picked more people up at Carnival Mardigras, off to MCO. By the time we got through security at gate C and relax, it was 930… flight was delayed till 4..

Some Facts-
We did have the drink package and we always had a drink in our hands.
Yes, a lot of room time as it was a good way to get away from the crowds.
This was my second cruise but first as an adult.
A lot of Solarium time to stay away from the kids so I have no complaints about them as other people have.
Food everywhere I had Sorrento’s and hot dogs whenever we passed.
I miss that blue water so
Biggest Complaint would have to the older generation, They complaint the most and were the rudest people Ive ever seen.
for MDR we had Ivan and his assistant Agus (who was on his first week) and they were amazing and made us laugh everynight.
food was good everywhere, idk why everyone complains there when i dont have to cook it and its all handed to me.

Two questions I understand going back to my home of record will be on me. But if you're single will they allow a delayed pack out? I understand and read in the guide this is common for married employees. I was not sure about single.
I currently live in a three bedroom house that I plan to either sell or rent out. I don't mind getting rid of things. However, will state pay to continue storing my belongings or bring my items to a storage center I can pay for when I am stateside. An example would be, let's say I get NYFO or some other very expensive first post for my first assignment I'll be lucky to rent a bedroom in an apartment so I wouldn't need most of my belongings, VS DC or Miami I can at least afford a 1 bedroom apartment. I would prefer to pack out after finding out my first assignment so I can sell items I won't need. However, if they will pay for storage then I don't mind packing everything before hand and figuring it out later. Some key large items I am thinking about as well are patio furniture, grill, riding lawn mower, spare bedroom set, 2nd couch.

Sports Grill shows DAZN sometimes but they haven’t confirmed it’s on. Anyone has a place for this around Miami?

First Coast Opera: The Stranger's Tale

• First Coast Opera and the Romanza Festivale present a free performance of The Stranger's Tale, on Friday, May 17, 2024, at noon, at the Ancient City Baptist Church.
• Funded in part by the Romanza Festivale of the Arts and by the National Endowment for the Arts, this opera premiered in 2005 with an original libretto by Nelson Sheeley. First Coast Opera's Artistic Director, Curtis Tucker, wrote additional music for the production.

• A retired English teacher, Ms. Randall is an adjunct instructor in English composition at Seminole State College in Sanford. Two of Ms. Randall's non-fiction books feature events in St. Augustine. At this event, Ms. Randall will focus on Murder in St. Augustine, the Mysterious Death of Athalia Ponsell Lindsley. This murder, in 1974, is still discussed and debated among St. Augustine residents.

Before Juneteenth: Emancipations in Florida

• In 1865, 11 days after the end of the Civil War, two years after President Abraham Lincoln's Proclamation, emancipation * was proclaimed in Florida. On Friday, May 17, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Heritage Center (LMCHC) hosts an event to explain and discuss emancipation in Florida.
• The afternoon will begin with a short documentary, Before Juneteenth: Emancipations in Florida. This documentary is being presented in several Florida communities this season, and Regina Gayle Phillips, LMCHC's executive director is featured in the film. There will be a virtual question and answer session after the viewing with Dr. Tameka Hobbs, Charlene Farrington, Dinizulu Gene Tinnie, and Brittany Flowers.

St. Augustine Concert Band Season Finale

• The St. Augustine Concert Band will perform their season finale concert from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, in the Center of the Arts at R.J. Murray Middle School.

• Shuttles will run continuously until approximately 45 minutes after the scheduled start time of a concert. Romanza Festivale: Con Brio

• The Romanza Festivale presents the Con Brio String Quartet on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. This internationally acclaimed string quartet will perform in a free concert at the First United Methodist Church on King Street.
• The four talented performers, Valentin Mansurov and Marina Lenau on violin, David Pedraza on viola, and Aziz Sapaev on cello, are all based in Southeast Florida. Before Juneteenth: Emancipations in Florida

• In 1865, 11 days after the end of the Civil War, two years after President Abraham Lincoln's Proclamation, emancipation * was proclaimed in Florida. On Friday, May 17, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Heritage Center (LMCHC) hosts an event to explain and discuss emancipation in Florida.
• The afternoon will begin with a short documentary, Before Juneteenth: Emancipations in Florida. This documentary is being presented in several Florida communities this season, and Regina Gayle Phillips, LMCHC's executive director is featured in the film. There will be a virtual question and answer session after the viewing with Dr. Tameka Hobbs, Charlene Farrington, Dinizulu Gene Tinnie, and Brittany Flowers.

St. Augustine Concert Band Season Finale

• The St. Augustine Concert Band will perform their season finale concert from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, in the Center of the Arts at R.J. Murray Middle School.
• This season finale concert, "Imagination," will feature works from modern-day prominent composers. Composers Brian Balmages, Dakota Peterson, Todd Salter, and others have all written thought-provoking, challenging, and moving compositions. * The concert will take the audience on a journey of imagination, allowing them to experience the power and emotion in each work.

• Shuttle Information: The St. Augustine Amphitheatre shuttle system begins its run 45 minutes before show time. The shuttle will pick up event patrons at four designated shuttle stops: the R.B. Hunt Elementary School Soccer Field, the west entrance of the Anastasia State Park Main Parking Lot, the Loop at the Anastasia State Park, and the entrance of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. • Shuttles will run continuously until approximately 45 minutes after the scheduled start time of a concert. For anyone wanting to leave before the end of a show, shuttles will begin taking people back to the satellite parking areas one hour before the event is over. The driver will not depart The Amp until the shuttle is more than 50% full.

Romanza Festivale: Con Brio

• The Romanza Festivale presents the Con Brio String Quartet on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. This internationally acclaimed string quartet will perform in a free concert at the First United Methodist Church on King Street.
• The four talented performers, Valentin Mansurov and Marina Lenau on violin, David Pedraza on viola, and Aziz Sapaev on cello, are all based in Southeast Florida. Members of the quartet are from Russia, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and Ukraine, each has received competitive awards and scholarships, and each performs in several of the area's music ensembles.

Sun 2 – 3:30 PM Cuidando los Niños Fundraiser Cookie Class Sweet Pea Bakery, 2500 Central Ave SW Join us for a fun night out while making an impact in our community! Light House Studio and Sweet Pea Bakery are teaming up to host a cookie decorating class to benefit Cuidando los Ninos. This will be a full 1.5 hour class where local cookie artist Katie Sacoman walks you through decorating three floral themed sugar cookies. Each participant also receives a personalized cookie with their name on it. 50% of each ticket sold goes to benefit Cuidando los Ninos, a local organization working to break the cycle of homelessness for children and families by providing high-quality early childhood education, case management, supportive housing, and parent education. *This class will be good for participants age 10 and up. My previous experience was Harmony of the seas in 2018. Here we go with Icon:

• Quick Check in and out.
  
• Condescending staff most of the times.
  
• Almost every waiter and Room assistant seems so desperate for tips, even when we get charged daily per person, per day.
  
• At Promenade, salesmen seemed to rush their sales, pressing you to buy and even lying about prices and benefits that are already included (like the warranty for example).
  
• Every single pool was always filled to the maximum possible. Most chairs reserved by towels (people hiding the “don’t reserve” sign with their towels) pretty underwhelming overall.
  
• The main pool ended up closed at least 3 different days because of “incidents” and “contamination”. Same thing happened in other pools. Snack papers and napkins flying around Deck 15.
  
• We reserved Chops Grille. 200 bucks only to get the same cuts that we actually got next day at Windjammer (specially Filet Mignon). The premium cuts are not included, Wagyu doesn’t taste that good. We got nice attention but to actually be a 200 bucks premium restaurant, the ambience seemed like a mcdonalds filled with two birthday parties. Everyone yelling and not giving a single crap.
  
• We also got Izumi Ibachi. Pretty good experience overall and a great service from the staff. That’s what I mean with exclusive items for a premium restaurant. I’m not paying extra to get the same thing I get at the buffet with more screams and yelling from other people.
  
• Couldn’t really enjoy activities like mini golf or surf cause they were always full, I like to share but I don’t like to get interrupted by two other golf balls. Waterpark was great overall, quick rides and 45 min wait rides as well. Didn’t like to get my feet burned walking up the stairs of the purple ride.
  
• The events like parties and parades were fine. Staff did their best to light up a boring audience overall, and I really meant it, you are in a vacation, not in a job activity.
  
• Food was great overall, nice variety at every place. Went to main dining first night only to get fried chicken with corn, after that we decided to dine at Windjammer to get more variety and eat as much as we wanted without someone faking a smile to get a tip. We got two calls the next days asking why we didn’t come back.
  
• Shows were awesome. Top quality to every one of them. Aquadome got technical problems the two times we went, the first time was actually suspended and ruined our schedule. Didn’t have hopes for the stand up comedy and they killed it, specially roasting Royal Caribbean. Oz, Effectors and Ice Skating also great.
  
• The two islands ( Basseterre and Charlotte Amalie) were pretty boring if you didn’t get an activity. Locals seemed condescending and bored with an attitude of “buy our stuff and leave”. Got scammed by a guy that has monkeys, leaves them in your shoulder, you film with your phone or get a photo and get charged 10 bucks per person. Saw an incident seconds after with another group that didn’t want to pay, obviously police are sided with locals. They ended up returning to the ship right away.
  

Not to be evil but every single shirt and gift/ thing you could get from those stores are available online. Order them weeks prior to your travel and just when you return you already have your photos in the island and your cheaper items at your home.

• Pretty Lame at Coco Cay should be the actual name of the thing. If you don’t get Coco Beach Club pass, you probably will suffer the same crowd you were suffering the whole week. Oasis Lagoon is impressive, but the amount of people and kids make it stressing. Icon and another ship arrived that day.
  
• We got Coco Beach Club. The pool is great, Beach is great, lots of birds though. We could finally enjoy empty chairs. Food was bad, I got a lobster cut in half with no meat at all. Also got a lobster sandwich that was partially better with fries and that was it. Filet mignon was the other option and I already got 4 of those at windjammer. Rum cake was great, but please NEVER AGAIN TRY TO MAKE CEVICHE, THAT THING WAS NOT CEVICHE, THAT WAS A BAD JOKE.
  
• We also tried the famous now infamous Coco Loco, the local drink that is actually like fruit punch juice with a joke of alcohol for around 15 bucks? Their pina colada is also a pineapple juice with a hint of rum. I get it that you need to calm down with the alcohol but charge 15 bucks for fruit punch juice is crazy.
  
• Sad thing to say that the best clothes were found at Coco Cay since the ship didn’t have many options to get, specially talking about shirts that were like 3 different types in two or three colors. The Messi shirts were like 30% more expensive in the ship than in any other place in miami or probably the world. Don’t buy anything the first 2 days, since they will lower their costs eventually. The commemorative set was 80 bucks and the next day 50.
  

To conclude:

• Pools: 2/10. Closed for too many times, full to their max. Hideaway pool was a joke, same with every other pool except for Royal Bay that was empty at 6pm (when it was open). The kids pool at deck 7 felt like an only kids pool so we didn’t go there, even when it felt the right thing to do to enjoy the infinite view that was impossible to enjoy at hideaway.
  
• Shows 8/10. Great shows and great places as well.
  
• Food 6/10. Didn’t enjoy the forced and invasive smiles. Didn’t like to pay 200 bucks only for the restaurant to run to Windjammer and fill my plate with the same food. Nice dinner and lunch at windjammer, props to Aquadome market.
  
• Offers 6/10. Not many, not great or unique items.
  
• Ambience 3/10. Not Royal Caribbeans fault, but it shows how people changed after covid. Manners seem to be dead.
  
• Other places 8/10. Gym was great, the exterior was cool, promenade and halls were nice, the pearl seemed unnecessary but idk. Casino was okay. Bars were fine, Surfside and the park looked awesome.
  
• Stateroom 7/10. Good distribution of space. The couch is a couch, not a bed, I still ended up sleeping there (check alternatives when more than 2 people).
  
• Staff 6/10. Their eyes either said “I need your money” or “Go away”, for the first time I felt uncomfortable while dining and also felt a robotic treatment at times.
  

One builds the enjoyment in their vacations and that’s what we did, we had a good time despite all the situations and things that got in our way. I remember reading “a week at a cruise it’s better than a week at work” and I agree, but I also can’t let go the fact that this expensive experience didn’t fulfill the expectations I got. The biggest ship in the world ended up short.
Between Harmony 2018 and Icon 2024, I choose Harmony all the time. Better quality, less people (or at least it seemed like it was less) Main dinning actually seemed like a different option than windjammer. Better activities, better sales, better clothes, better service in general, daily parades and events.
I totally understand that covid affected this industry and somehow they have to make a return of that money, but I wasn’t expecting a huge mall designed to take selfies, I was expecting a cruise experience.

Chamber Music: Raquel Rubi, Soprano

• On Monday, May 13, 2024, soprano Raquel Rubi and the violin duo Harmonie Coalesce will present a program that features both violin duos and pieces for soprano and violin. The concert will be at the Memorial Presbyterian Church from noon to 1:00 p.m.
• Dr. Rubi studied and performed in Cuba before moving to the U.S., where she earned a master's in vocal performance and a doctorate in musical arts. In addition to performing, Dr. Rubi founded and directs RubiMusic, an educational non-profit to teach vocal skills and provide young students the opportunity to perform. Raquel has performed with the Frost Opera Theater, Miami Lyric Opera, and has written music for the movie, Humberto, and acted in the film, Scent of Oak.
• The married violinists, Robert and Kimberly Zielinski of Harmonie Coalesce, are classically trained musicians who have performed together and separately with several ensembles in North Florida. They married in 2006 and have played as a duo ever since.

Chamber Music: Raquel Rubi, Soprano

• On Monday, May 13, 2024, soprano Raquel Rubi and the violin duo Harmonie Coalesce will present a program that features both violin duos and pieces for soprano and violin. The concert will be at the Memorial Presbyterian Church from noon to 1:00 p.m.
• Dr. Rubi studied and performed in Cuba before moving to the U.S., where she earned a master's in vocal performance and a doctorate in musical arts. In addition to performing, Dr. Rubi founded and directs RubiMusic, an educational non-profit to teach vocal skills and provide young students the opportunity to perform. Raquel has performed with the Frost Opera Theater, Miami Lyric Opera, and has written music for the movie, Humberto, and acted in the film, Scent of Oak.
• The married violinists, Robert and Kimberly Zielinski of Harmonie Coalesce, are classically trained musicians who have performed together and separately with several ensembles in North Florida. They married in 2006 and have played as a duo ever since.
