Maximum Ulcer Performance Index (UPI) Portfolios - Allocate Smartly
We talked about in earlier threads this was probably going to be added, and it's here now.
The blog thing goes into the caveats of just blindly using the optimizer outputs, and the impacts of adding cash. It's a really well done piece, as usual.
For my own custom portfolio, I have the pro version and looked at just selecting my 8 strategies, but I'm not changing anything based on the UPI optimizer suggested weights. But your mileage may vary if you are a bit more flexible in going with something closer to the recommended weights.
It may cause you to have to drop some strategies, which I'm not willing to do. And remember the optimizer recommendations will change over time based on strategy performance and when new strategies are added to the site.
That makes sense, and kinda no different than members changing their custom portfolios when new strategies like BAA, HAA....get added.

In using featured image for a blog post, I have noticed that the same picture is assigned to different locations. For instance, on the top right (600X400), right side bar (270X130), and the bottom “related articles” (370X270), and so on.
The question I have is that when I load the image, does Elementor automatically adjust the image size to fit the column size, or do I have to individually crop the image? For image optimization, I am using the Smush Pro plugin and it is telling me that I should reduce the size from 1600X1200 to 592X444px. I have assumed that Elementor does this automatically.
So, do I have to crop every image to fit the column, for instance, 1 column, 2 or 3, and so on?

When will the HCS Major London 2024 take place?	The HCS Major London 2024 will take place May 31-June 2, 2024.

Is there an age limit?	All 4v4 and FFA Players must be 13 years of age or older to compete at HCS Major London. Players 13 years of age or older require a signed parental consent form if under the age of 18. Spectators 13 years of age or older require a signed parental consent form if under the age of 18. Spectators under 13 years of age will need to be accompanied by guardian. Children ages 3 and under will not require a ticket, but will require a completed parental consent form and be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Download the Parental Consent Form. Please bring the completed form to the event and have ready to hand in at the ticketing desk.
What if I am under the age limit at the time of qualification but meet the age requirements by the event date? Can I still participate?	Players will need to be of age by May 22, 2024 to compete.

Do you have appropriate seating and parking for individuals with medical conditions?	The event is ADA compliant and accessible.
Are pets allowed?	Only service animals are allowed at the event.
What is your bag policy?	Spectators: All Bags must be clear and under 12in x 12in x 6in to be allowed in the venue, and are subject to wanding and searches as needed. Wallets and wristlets no larger than 5in x 8in x 1in are permitted - Anything larger must follow the clear bag guidelines.
Are there any prohibited items?	Halo Championship Series Prohibited Items ACCEPTABLE: - Cosplay and other costumes determined to be safe by security - Prop/Replica weapons as part of cosplay or other costumes: Must be submitted to security for review. Cannot contain a functioning bolt mechanism or fire a projectile of any kind. Any bow-type weapons must be unstrung or strung with a low-tensile thread. All prop arrows must have soft, non-metal, blunted tips made out of foam or cardboard only. Cannot be pointed at any individual in such a way to cause fear of harm or distress. Cosplay firearms must have brightly colored safety tips. Will there be a Free-For-All (FFA) competition at this event?	Yes! The event will feature a free-to-enter Halo Infinite FFA tournament, which will be open for up to 512 players and spectators. Best of luck to those competing for their share of $5,000! Must have a Spectator ticket to participate. Registration will take place on site!
I don't live in the UK. Can I still compete in this tournament?	To check your specific country’s eligibility, please see the list of eligible countries as listed in the Handbook here.
Is there a limit to the number of teams eligible to compete in this tournament?	Yes. The 4v4 tournament open bracket has a max capacity of 48 teams.
When do rosters lock?	For Pool Play and Travel Coverage teams: 6:00 PM EST on Monday, May 13th. If teams earned travel coverage via the Major #2 Online Qualifier they must retain that same roster. For all other teams, roster lock is Monday, May 27th at 10:00a EST / 3:00p BST.
What equipment should I bring if I'm competing?	All players competing must bring: - Your preferred wired peripheral (Xbox wired Controller or Mouse and Keyboard) - USB cord required for your preferred peripheral - Headset with no power outlet and a 3.5 mm plug - Wired Earbuds (needed for Feature Station and Main Stage play) - If you plan on competing with Keyboard & Mouse, you must submit your model number for each device to hcs@ee.gg ahead of the event. Mixamps will be provided. Bringing backup equipment is recommended.
Which monitors will be used for the tournament?	All tournament and warmup monitors will be the Zowie XL2540K model.
How do I earn travel coverage?	Lodging and travel coverage will be offered to 12 pool play teams based on previous Major placement, placement in the Major #2 Qualifier, and HCS Points. Additionally, 1 NA team& 1 EU team will be granted travel coverage based on aggregate points after the Major #2 Qualifier. 1 ANZ team & 1 MX team will be granted travel coverage based on placing 1st in their respective Open Championships. NA Players may qualify through: Top two (2) placement in the Major #2 Online Qualifier. Top two (2) in HCS points after the Major #2 Online Qualifier EU Players may qualify through: 1st place in the Major #2 Online Qualifier. Highest team aggregate HCS points after the Major #2 Online Qualifier MX Players may qualify through: 1st place in the Major #1 Open Championship. What types of payment do you accept? Online and onsite?	All major credit cards are accepted. Cash payments will not be accepted at the event.
How will I get my tickets if I buy them online?	You will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a QR code and printable tickets. Digital or print tickets will be accepted and scanned at the door at the event.
What if my tickets are lost or stolen?	Please contact events@quadrant.gg for more info.
Do you offer refunds?	We offer refunds up till 7 days before the event. Note: Eventbrite's fee is nonrefundable.
What if the event is cancelled?	If the event is cancelled all tickets purchased will be refunded in full.
Can I show my tickets on my phone at the door or do I need to have the physical tickets with me?	Digital or print tickets will be accepted and QR codes scanned upon entry. You must have all members of the parties accounted for with multiple tickets present to check in at the same time. Tickets are only scanned once. Fans will receive a wristband that corresponds with their ticket type.
Do you offer military or senior citizen discounts?	If you are purchasing a ticket online - please use the code MILITARY or SENIOR to receive 10% off your ticket. What does general admission mean?	General Admission (GA) refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved.

Is my multi-day ticket good for either or both days?	3 Day GA tickets are acceptable for all days of the event. You will receive a wristband or credentials that you must keep with you for all of the days to re-enter.
The name on the ticket doesn't match the attendee’s name. Is that okay?	This is allowed, however you must have all members of the parties accounted for with multiple tickets present to check in at the same time. Tickets are only scanned once.

Why did Harvard protestors dismantle their own camp, while MIT’s camp was dismantled by police? One explanation I’ve heard is that Harvard showed patience, listened to students, and worked out a deal. I see a simpler explanation: Harvard closed its gates, MIT could not. MIT’s open campus was leveraged dangerously by visitors and made Harvard's hands-off approach impossible. I worry what these events will mean for the open campus that most of us value.
The differences between Harvard and MIT's encampment risks are the focus of this post. To be clear, I am not claiming that MIT students or administrators made the best or only decisions available. We don’t know what lay at the end of roads not taken.
Many at MIT have been closer to these events than me, so it helps if they can add other relevant facts in the comments. I try to use third-party sources, but I include protestor and admin sources where third parties exclude important details.
Events at Harvard
Harvard Yard is fully fenced. During past protests and encampments, Harvard has closed all its gates.[1][2] Harvard shut the gates again well before its encampment began.[3] By restricting the Yard to Harvard ID access, Harvard’s administration could afford to be patient.
Once the camp began on April 24, the gates locked out visiting protestors and counterprotestors.[3][4] Harvard’s pro-camp and anti-camp students were free to escalate, and did many times, but they could not welcome other groups into the campus.[1]
On May 10, Harvard issued involuntary leaves to twenty remaining student campers, it effectively locked them in the Yard. Suspended campers couldn’t enter through ID checkpoints, so leaving the Yard for any reason meant abandoning the camp. Within the Yard, campers lost access to bathrooms and food.[3][4] Under this duress, the four remaining residents of the camp submitted to Harvard’s demands and declared that the camp had “outlived its usefulness.”[3]
By tightly controlling access, Harvard had little to gain by bargaining with the camp and not much to lose by letting it be. Administrators successfully excluded visitors and later exercised their option to blockade the camp. In the end, their only real concession to the camp was to reconsider the suspensions.[3]
Events at MIT
On April 21, MIT’s camp began on the Kresge lawn, one of the most accessible spaces on MIT’s campus. For two weeks, MIT camp stayed open to all and was peacefully managed, despite efforts by students and visitors to escalate and spark conflicts. Anti-camp students and visitors sought to provoke campers into disputes and pressure MIT to intervene against the camp.[5] On May 1, pro-camp students began to block arterial roads and organize unannounced secondary protests.[6] Both groups sought to raise the cost of MIT’s inaction.
The “peaceful equilibrium” was cushioned by MIT camp marshals, police, faculty, and staff.[5] But it tipped on May 3, when the Israeli American Council and Boston's Party for Socailism and Liberation (BPSL) each called hundreds of visitors to dueling protests around the campsite.[7][8][9] Actions by chapters of these groups were a prelude to the violence against campers at UCLA and the building occupation at Columbia.[10][11] Although marshals and police could keep the peace between small groups, the outside protests dwarfed all earlier events. Meanwhile, students negotiating for the camp declared their basic demand non-negotiable, ending an option for settlement.[12][13]
Ahead of the dueling protests, MIT tried to impose camp access controls. Unable to close the Kresge lawn to outside groups, MIT instead put tall construction fences around the camp to limit entrypoints and “maintain separation” between protests.[12][13][14] MIT Police added MIT ID checks several days later, creating the access conditions Harvard had from the start.[13][14] Protestors took offense at these efforts. One student described “how tone-deaf it is to fence in people in people and add a checkpoint” to an encampment for Palestinian rights.[14]
On May 6, after a final round of negotiations failed, MIT demanded all students leave the camp or face interim suspensions.[12][13][15] Picking up notices by student groups, at least four outside groups published “all out to MIT” broadcasts. One of these callouts came from a group advising followers to refuse negotiations, barricade buildings, and use black-bloc tactics to incite police crackdowns. Hundreds of MIT affiliates and visiting protestors amassed at the campsite and surrounded police.[16][17] In a simultaneous action aided by the BPSL, local high school students arrived for a rush-hour sitdown blockade of Mass Ave.[18][19][20] As crowds increased and actions multiplied, protestors demolished the fence and re-entered the camp en masse.[16][17]
The May 6 standoff proved everyone was right to worry about their respective worst cases. Clearly, no one controlled who showed up at the camp or on campus. Clearly, overtly violent groups had entered the fray, while others enlisted high schoolers to join in. Clearly, MIT was planning to end the camp. And clearly, protestors would reject efforts to control camp access and security. The actions on May 6 put de-escalation and life safety measures well beyond anybody’s reach.
A few days later, MIT suspended over twenty students, although students were still free to enter and leave the camp.[12][13] Unlike Harvard, MIT called state police to close the camp and arrest ten students who refused the option to leave.[12][13]
Holding the Gates Open
Harvard locked out visiting protestors, locked in protesting students, and sapped the camp's remaining resolve. MIT initially allowed open access to the campsite, having few other options. When open access became unstable, students and visitors rejected the administration’s effort to impose access control.
It would be nice if skillful negotiation explained Harvard’s police-free resolution. But over the life of the two camps, the biggest difference is that Harvard kept its gates shut. There may have been other paths MIT could have taken, but Harvard’s path wasn’t one of them.
Generations of MIT students, staff, alums, police, administrators, and faculty have worked to keep MIT’s campus “aggressively ungated.”[21] During the encampment, our openness was weaponized against us. Visitors were summoned to escalate student actions and aggress members of our community. It seems “all out to MIT” tactics are here to stay, if the BPSL’s notices about other MIT protests this year are any indication.
Among many other hard questions that MIT faces right now, I wonder how we will be able to hold the gates open.

Meu namoro de quase 1 ano (11/06/2023) terminou agora. Foi o meu primeiro namoro da minha vida, que eu acredito que com o amor da minha vida inteira. Eu (M18) e a minha namorada (M17) iriamos fazer 1 ano em pouco tempo. Algo do passado retornou sábado a noite, depois de um áudio do tiktok em que lembrava sobre algo que aconteceu, ela ficou triste com isso, pediu pra eu deixar de lado e me avisou que estava mal, caso eu notasse que ela estava meio seca e diferente. Mas eu, na boa intenção, resolvi tentar explicar e falar a verdade pra ela novamente sobre o que aconteceu, na esperança de ela acreditar em mim e conseguir superar isso, e não varrer para debaixo do tapete e tentar esquecer. Em junho do ano passado, assisti um filme chamado Blade Runner 2049 e eu fiquei maravilhado com a estética do filme. O futuro distópico e as luzes neon me maravilharam. Nesse filme havia o ator que eu sou muito fã (Ryan Gosling) e a personagem secundária era a atriz Ana de Armas, que eu nunca tinha visto antes na vida. Terminando de ver o filme, comecei a consumir conteúdo relacionado ao filme. Clipes sobre o filme com músicas que se encaixam na vibe do filme, e o grande problema: a Ana de Armas. Há uma dança de um "holograma" no filme, que por algum motivo eu fiquei assistindo várias vezes. Achei a dança "hipnotizante", não em um sentido sexual, mas sim que a dança era fluída, e era muito legal por causa da vibe do filme. O grande problema, é que eu assisti muitas vezes essa dança, vários vídeos diferentes, mas completamente na inocência. Vi também outros vídeos sobre o filme, muitos eram músicas com clipes do filme passando de fundo (o problema é que muitos continham a atriz (vou chamar assim pra abreviar), já que ela era segunda personagem principal do filme. Acho que porque ela é bonita, a internet fazia muitos clipes com ela presente. Vi também outras pessoas fazendo a dança, vi um vídeo que era o Chris Evans e a atriz respondendo perguntas, um que a atriz mostrava as tatuagens dela e a história por trás.
O problema de tudo isso é que a atriz está muito presente neles, e eu assisti muitos vídeos que ela estava presente, a grande maioria não porque ela estava lá, e sim que era sobre o filme.
Ok, outro ponto. Nosso relacionamento tem algumas regras em comum que seguimos e que acreditamos. Crush em celebridade por exemplo? Traição, Curtir fotos de outras pessoas, seguir outras pessoas, dar sinais confusos... todos traições obviamente. Consideramos juntos várias coisas como traições.
Meus sentimentos sobre a minha namorada (espero que não seja ex, do fundo do coração) são muito intensos. Eu amo ela mais do que tudo na minha vida, e ela também sente o mesmo. A gente faz de tudo pelo outro, a gente conversa, a gente tenta resolver as coisas e paramos de fazer coisas que acabam incomodando o outro. Nós somos muito carinhosos um com o outro, nos amamos de verdade. Temos muitos sonhos pela frente, a gente superou muita coisa, muitos problemas, alguns quase-términos também (coisas/brigas que tinham resolução e eram superáveis, muitas das brigas por coisas "pequenas"). Ademais, irei explicar o problema e a situação.
A primeira vez que o problema aconteceu, foi em junho do ano passado. Um dia eu estava na casa dela, e mostrei um clipe do filme pra ela. O foco não era a atriz, e sim a ambientação. E aí veio a irmã pequena dela, de 8 anos, e disse que a atriz era muito feia. Eu disse rindo pra ela que ela é muito bonita (que vacilo gigantesco), e que não dá pra dizer que ela não é no mínimo bonita. Sim, eu falei isso, mais porque realmente, a atriz é bonita, e se eu estivesse falando o contrário seria mentira.
Outro dia, estávamos vendo um filme, até que a minha namorada perguntou: "Se a atriz aparecesse na sua frente com quem tu iria ficar?". Eu tenho sérios problemas de atenção, e como eu estava vendo o filme, demorei para processar o que ela disse. Então coisa de no máximo 2 segundos depois, quando percebi a pergunta, respondi: "Tu". Ela implicou com isso, que eu fiquei pensando e que eu demorei pra responder.
Outro dia, ela estava se achando inferior em relação a atriz, e eu disse pra ela: "Tu não é inferior a ela.". Outro ponto é que eu tenho SÉRIOS problemas pra me expressar, eu não consigo me expressar nada bem quando sou questionado pessoalmente (tendo que pensar rápido). Acho que eu me expresso bem por texto, em que eu tenha tempo pra escrever. Com essa resposta, ela ficou em silêncio e as coisas seguiram. Esse final de semana, descobri que com essa resposta ela pensou que eu não respondi bem, eu respondi dessa forma (me expressei mal) querendo dizer no sentido que a minha namorada é superior, porque ela realmente é. Ela é a mulher mais linda que eu já vi em toda a minha vida, ela é perfeita. Mas para ela, foi uma resposta ruim, que não deixava isso claro.
Com isso tudo, minha namorada pensou que eu tinha um crush e sentia atração pela atriz. Isso não é verdade, de nenhum modo. Eu nunca senti nenhum desejo por ela, nunca senti nenhuma atração, nunca tive um "crush" nela.
Em 2018, algo parecido aconteceu. Tinha uma dança no tiktok e uma menina que dançava, que era uma menina feia. A dança não tinha absolutamente nada de vulgar, nada sugestivo e a roupa da menina não mostrava nada. Mesmo assim eu assisti aquele vídeo da dança incontáveis vezes, eu não tinha nenhum tipo de desejo pela menina do vídeo, não tinha atração, não sentia nada. Eu simplesmente gostava de ver aquele vídeo porque achava ele "hipnotizante" em um sentido que não tem nada a ver com sexual.
Nesse caso de agora, foi basicamente isso. Por isso eu vi tanto a dança, e como eu falei, eu não vi apenas o vídeo da atriz dançando, vi outras pessoas dançando também. Se pesquisarem atriz blade runner dance no youtube vocês vão ver. Minha namorada disse que ela "rebola na dança" e realmente, pode se considerar que ela faz isso, mas não de um modo vulgar como os funks brasileiros. Eu na verdade não pensava nada sobre ela "rebolar", não sentia nada.
Não lembro muito bem como isso se resolveu e continuamos em frente, mas a questão do vídeo da dança não estava presente na primeira vez que isso ocorreu. Fomos felizes por meses, tivemos nossas brigas, dois quase-términos por coisas pequenas mas que eram superáveis facilmente.
Até que chegou esse sábado. Mandei um tiktok para a minha namorada (depois de passarmos o dia juntos felizes e se amando muito, e agora cada um em sua casa pois não podemos dormir juntos, então estávamos falando por mensagem) que continha um áudio do filme, mas que não era nada a ver com o filme. E com isso a minha namorada lembrou disso. Ela ficou triste, e resolveu me contar que estava triste, e por isso talvez estivesse seca e distante. Ela não queria me contar o que tinha acontecido, mas ela contou quando eu pedi. Com isso ela queria deixar de lado e seguir, mas eu QUERIA que ela acreditasse em mim e conseguisse superar isso, então resolvi contar novamente e explicar as coisas pra ela.
Disse que não, eu nunca senti atração pela atriz, nunca tive nenhum desejo por ela, nunca tive nenhum tipo de crush nela, e jurei por tudo que eu podia jurar na vida, porque eu não estava mentindo. Se eu estivesse mentindo eu poderia simplesmente deixar de lado, seguir em frente e deixar ela "esquecer" isso, não? Ela mesma disse pra eu deixar de lado. Caso eu realmente tivesse mentindo pra ela, essa seria a opção óbvia. Mas não, eu quis contar a verdade pra ela, porque eu não estava mentindo, porque eu pensei que eu poderia fazer ela acreditar em mim pra ela poder superar isso.
Basicamente brigamos depois disso, pois ela não acreditou em mim, me xingou de algumas formas e disse que não acreditava em mim nem confiava. Com isso eu fiquei extremamente mal e a briga seguiu, senti muito medo da gente terminar, e ela ficou um período extenso de tempo sem me responder, sendo que sou muito ansioso, ela sabe disso e nunca fez isso justamente pela minha ansiedade (ela também é ansiosa e eu nunca deixava ela no vácuo por isso). Ela disse que estava tentando dormir, pois já eram 4h da manhã e iríamos nos ver às 9h30. Ela voltou a me responder, conversamos um pouco (mais calmos) e fomos dormir.
No outro dia, foi muito ruim. Até a parte da tarde, ficamos distantes (na casa dela), ela estava brava comigo e eu estava muito triste e mal. Cheguei lá e infelizmente não pedi desculpa pra ela, pois ela nunca acredita nas minhas desculpas quando conto algo e não explico de uma forma que ela acredite, então não cheguei a pedir. Ela ficou muito triste comigo por isso, eu chorei bastante também, ela também, e depois de algumas conversas (eu falando que não menti, chorando por Deus e o mundo, a gente chorando juntos) voltamos a ficar próximos. Assistimos uma série juntos, cochilamos juntos abraçados no sofá. Depois, fui ao banheiro. Quando voltei, ela estava atônica, distante e triste comigo. Disse que quem procura acha e ela achou algo. Ela não quis me contar na hora, disse que era muita humilhação. Eu comecei a chorar desesperado, pois não fazia idéia do que se tratava, por mais que essas coisas do ano passado tenham acontecido, após isso eu nunca cheguei nem perto de fazer nada parecido, eu sempre pensava antes de fazer qualquer coisa parecida mesmo que eu achasse que não tivesse nada de mal. Ela vendo meu estado, ficou um pouco mais próxima, disse que ia contar quando eu voltasse pra casa, mesmo que eu tenha implorado muito, ela não contou ali na hora, Queria que fosse na hora, pois estávamos juntos, e conseguimos resolver as coisas muito melhor juntos presencialmente. Mesmo assim ela não quis. Eu queria ir embora pra casa, pois estávamos na sala (na casa dela não podemos ir pros quartos por conta dos pais) e tinha familiares dela ali, e eles me veriam chorando, e ela também, e eu não queria isso. Como ela não iria me contar as coisas queria ir chorar no meu quarto e conversar com ela, e ela no dela. Quando eu disse que ia embora (chorando) ela disse com uma voz tão triste, um rosto tão triste, que me doeu tanto ver o amor da minha vida daquele jeito, eu não podia ir embora e deixar ela, sendo que a gente só ia se ver no outro final de semana. Eu perguntei pra ela enquanto chorava: "Por que tu ainda tá comigo?" e ela disse: "Porque eu te amo.". Eu quebrei completamente quando ela disse isso, comecei a chorar desesperadamente. Ela vendo meu estado, começou a fazer carinho em mim, me dar beijo, falar que me amava.
Até a hora de eu ir embora, ficamos bem. A gente se cuidou, falou que se amava, ficamos grudados, fizemos muito carinho um no outro, ela dormiu deitada em mim como uma bebê nos meus braços, e enquanto isso eu admirava ela, eu era muito feliz com ela, ela era tudo pra mim e eu nunca queria perder aquilo, nunca queria ficar sem sentir ela nos meus braços, sem estar perto do amor da minha vida. Depois disso, eu fui pra casa, nos despedimos com beijo e "eu te amo", além de mais coisas fofas sendo ditas. Quando cheguei em casa, eu não perguntei para ela o que ela tinha achado. Por que eu não perguntei? Porque eu fiquei tão mal e desesperado que eu não queria que aquele momento feliz com o amor da minha vida acabasse, eu não queria que a gente ficasse mal de novo. Fiz isso no desespero basicamente, e só posterguei o que viria a seguir. Fizemos chamada de vídeo, enviamos videos fofos um ao outro, falamos coisas fofas, falamos que queríamos ficar juntos para sempre, que a gente se amaria pra sempre, que a gente casaria, que éramos tudo um pro outro. Dormimos.
Hoje, eu acordei para trabalhar 8h30, fiz minhas coisas e logo mandei bom dia pra ela, perguntei se ela tinha dormido bem, se ela sonhou alguma coisa, falei que amava ela e que já estava com saudade. Horas depois ela acordou. Disse bom dia amor, que dormiu bem, que não sonhou nada, e que não queria que a gente mudasse nunca, que ela ficou muito chateada com o que aconteceu e que não queria que isso continuasse acontecendo, ou a gente iria acabar. Eu mais uma vez falei pra ela que não menti pra ela, e então ela me enviou print do que ela havia achado. Ela foi no meu historico do youtube lá em junho do ano passado, e viu os vídeos que eu assisti. Foi isso que ela tinha achado. Com isso comecei a explicar algo que eu nem mesmo sabia explicar direito o que era (o negócio da hipnose) mas que isso NÃO era atração, não era desejo, não era crush, não era nada do tipo, eu jurei por Deus e o mundo novamente, meu sofrimento eterno no inferno pois eu não tava mentindo pra ela. Eu sou tão apaixonado pela minha namorada que eu não consigo me imaginar sequer ficando com mais ninguém, sinto nojo ao pensar nisso literalmente. Como eu me expressei mal e comecei a me desesperar, as coisas pioraram, e ela de alguma forma entendeu como se eu tivesse admitido tudo que ela estava me acusando.
Ela disse que nunca superaria isso, e não consegue conviver com isso, e quis terminar comigo. Eu tentei explicar de novo, tentei jurar, mas nada funcionou. Me sinto muito frustrado comigo mesmo por ela não conseguir confiar em mim, por culpa minha. Atualmente, ela basicamente terminou comigo, e eu propus a ela pra gente ir em uma terapia de casal. Ela quer ser psicóloga, faz terapia há anos e sabe muito sobre psicologia, então por causa da credibilidade que ela dá à psicologia, eu quero ir em uma terapia de casal com ela. Quero que o psicólogo explique as minhas ações, pra mim mesmo e pra ela. Sei que um profissional vai conseguir fazer isso, e por eu ter a plena convicção de que eu nunca senti nada pela atriz, a verdade virá à tona e a gente vai conseguir superar isso juntos. Ela disse algumas coisas ruins pra mim, mas eu compreendo ela estar sentindo tudo isso. Vendo o lado dela, é absurdo tudo isso. Como as pessoas são ruins, traem, ver tudo isso indica nada a não ser o que ela diz que é a verdade. Mas não é. Eu disse domingo, que se isso continuasse vindo à tona, iria corroer a gente e a gente terminaria inevitavelmente. Eu sei disso, e mesmo assim eu quero continuar tentando, não varrer para debaixo do tapete, mas sim resolver isso de uma vez por todas, pois eu não estou mentindo pra ela. Eu falei a verdade e continuo falando. Por mais que ela tenha terminado, ela não apagou nossas coisas, não me bloqueou e ainda me responde às vezes. Isso faz umas 5 horas que aconteceu a partir do momento que postei, e no momento ela não está me respondendo. Ela diz que não quer ir na terapia pois sabe a verdade, mas eu continuo tentando, porque eu não estou mentindo.
Eu não posso desistir do amor da minha vida, não posso enquanto eu sei que há esperança, sei que não menti e sei que um profissional vai poder explicar minhas ações e a verdade virá à tona, sei disso.
Eu a amo mais do que tudo, eu a amo profundamente, verdadeiramente, e sempre vou amar ela. Não suporto a ideia de não estar com ela. A gente se ama tanto, a gente se dá tão bem, temos uma conexão inacreditável, fazemos e tentamos ser tão bons um para o outro. Temos até uma cicatriz idêntica no mesmo lugar, a gente já teve muitas oportunidades de se encontrar (amigos em comum e lugares frequentados em comum) e nunca nos encontramos, seja porque um de nós não podia, algo aconteceu ou não queríamos. Não estava na hora ainda de nos encontrarmos, e por mais que isso seja muito doloroso de escrever, por mais que eu esteja chorando muito agora, talvez ainda não fosse a hora, talvez seja daqui uns anos. Eu só sei que ela é o amor da minha vida, e sempre vai ser, independente do que aconteça. A gente sente que já nos encontramos quando criança, de cruzar um pelo outro sabe, sentimos que nossos rostos são familiares. Eu acho isso muito lindo ;)

To follow up on a previous post by another user, I'd like to bring the question of economic class into the picture - which is significantly more pertinent.
Anyone who has taken even a beginners statistics course ought to know that statistics, while being a math heavy discipline, is actually more of a soft science. Your analysis will always depend on axiomatic base assumptions, definitions, and design of experiment.
If you allow a slight detour to make my larger point, one major example taken up by political scientist Camila Vergara in her book "Systemic Corruption," is how corruption indexes define and measure corruption. Her criticism is that these indexes define corruption in terms of legal positivism - that "the existence of law is one thing; its merit and demerit another."
In other words, corruption is defined as breaking the law in some way to gain political or economic advantage - so it counts the amount of quid pro quos, bribes, threats, etc.
Corruption indexes then do statistical analysis on this basis. The results may still be very interesting and informative to a degree. However, its information is extremely limited in scope, and leaves out a huge part of the whole story. Definitionally, there is no way, therefore, to measure whether the laws themselves are corrupt - and a country like the USA which engages in extremely shady lobbying practices shows up relatively clean on the index.
Now let me shift back to the topic of crime statistics - especially those most often reported on mainstream news outlets and the like. We often hear about retail theft, muggings, break-ins, car jacking, drunk driving, murder, and those kind of crimes. This is often how crime is framed in commonly reported crime statistics.
And while it's understandable to be concerned about these things, as everyone wants to live without fear of walking or driving around their own neighborhood - this isn't the whole story. Because of this day-to-day fear, some people are quick to scapegoat whole groups of people based on race, religion, etc...
However, consider the point that wage theft in America has outpaced all other kind of theft.
Now consider the amount of lives lost/cut short and economic loss incurred through ignoring environmental regulations (like how fracking companies poison water wells), corporate criminal negligence (like Boeing's ongoing trainwreck), shady trading practices (like what caused the 2008 economic crash), corporate fraud (like Purdue Pharma's misleading the public on addictive nature of OxyContin), among other things.
Due to their immense economic and political influence, the economic elite are able to due crime at scale, such that they'd put even the body-count of the most prolific serial killer to shame. Their ill-gotten monetary gains would put even the greatest petty thief or bank robber to shame.
However, these things are rarely, if ever, included in "crime statistics." The issue with stats is you can do statistical science and follow impeccable methodology, and the numbers still can turn out to be a lie - either overtly or by omission. It all comes down to what you're measuring and how you choose to define and measure it. You can launder lies through the math and make it look clean, objective, and scientific.
Now, the crimes of the elite that I've mentioned were only the crimes that are, by law, defined as crimes. I'm sure we could also take a page out of Dr. Vergara's book and consider defining crime by some other standard by which we could also judge whether the laws themselves are "criminal."
The lives affected by the elite engaging in shady, but technically legal behavior, is probably is an outrageously large number - such as through tax evasion, certain forms of lobbying, giving yacht rides to Supreme Court Justices, etc..
On a final note, due to the immense scale of these crimes, their consequences are no doubt to ripple and "trickle" through society such that the poverty, misery, and bad health incurred on others will - in turn - reproduce a cycle of smaller scale crime at more local levels, such as retail theft, break-ins, and sometimes even murder.

Thiago: We want to welcome you and acknowledge your participation in this interview.
Luu: Thank you for inviting us to this interview. We are honored to participate and answer your questions, comrades.
Thiago: When was the Serving the People (Vietnam) blog created and what are its objectives?
Luu: The blog was created in December last year. With 4 main objectives, to digitize and archive texts from China, in particular texts of Chairman Mao, the Gang of Four and the Cultural Revolution, in addition to other Marxist texts such as documents from the Great Debate, Stalin, Kalinin and other works from countries like Brazil and the Philippines, in Vietnamese, so everyone can access them for free. We also want to push for the reconstitution of the Communist Party of Vietnam as a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist party and encourage the masses to practice and organize, in the north and south of the country.
Thiago: Which groups represented the left line of the Vietnamese Communist Party from 1956 until the total restoration of capitalism?
Thang: There was a rise of the right-wing opportunist line, by the group called "Nhan van-Giai Pham", which attempted to restore capitalist culture through what is called "literature for literature's sake". President Ho Chi Minh was the main defender of Marxism in this struggle.
In the Great Debate between Leninism and revisionism, Ho Chi Minh occupies the middle line. But this line was a serious mistake, because it created fertile ground for the rise of revisionism and opportunism and for the restoration of capitalism in Vietnam later.
Overall, in the history of the Communist Party, the left line was defended mainly by Ho Chi Minh, but he also indirectly liquidated this line by moving to centrism, creating a vacuum that allowed revisionism to take power.
After his death in 1969, the Left line was completely liquidated. The remaining Party leaders fell into centrism or revisionism, and no significant group represented the left line in Vietnam.
Thiago: How did the restoration of capitalism and bourgeois dictatorship occur in Vietnam? How do the State, the Party and the Vietnamese economy work today?
Thang: The dictatorship of the bourgeoisie in Vietnam began after the death of Ho Chi Minh and the seizure of power by the revisionist clique, transforming Vietnam into a semi-colony of Soviet social-imperialism. The complete restoration of capitalism in Vietnam began in 1986, when the Doi Moi reform transformed Vietnam from a semi-colony of Soviet social-imperialism into a semi-colony of American imperialism and Chinese social-imperialism, strengthening thus the semi-feudal state.
(Additional note from Luu based on Thang's response: They, the revisionists, adopt the theory of productive forces, similar to that of Deng Xiaoping in every way. This liquidated the Party, turning it into a lap dog of foreign imperialists Vietnam is currently a police state, a bourgeois dictatorship. Thiago: What are your criticisms of Ho Chi Minh's centrist deviation and subsequent adoption of "Ho Chi Minh Thought" by his successors? Were there any prominent leaders “to the left” of Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam?
Luu: We must criticize Ho Chi Minh's centrism and recognize that he liquidated the left line. We recognize that centrism is a very dangerous thing, even if it is not overtly anti-communist like the right line, but it creates an opening for the right line. We could compare his errors with those of Kim Il-Sung and other leaders who adopted the same positions: at his death, in his will, he did not say to defend Chairman Mao's line, but wanted " not to intervene in the affairs of other nations", although he was sympathetic to Albania and China, he also did not attack the right line, but he nevertheless refused conciliation with the Americans and the policy of capitulation that the Khruschevists were trying to impose on us. However, Vietnam fought nothing else.
Concerning "Ho Chi Minh Thought", those who claim it are dogmatists, taking its centrism as dogma, focusing on its revolutionary morality and asserting that the People's War was a contribution of Ho Chi Minh and not of Mao Zedong. They denied the influence of Mao Zedong Thought on Ho Chi Minh Thought, distorting Ho Chi Minh Thought, claiming that it is influenced by reactionary religions and ideals, transforming it from a revolutionary theory into a reactionary theory. There were no representatives of the left line, only opportunists.
Thiago: What do you think of President Gonzalo and his contributions of universal value? How are anti-revisionism and Maoism perceived in Vietnam?
Thắng: As Marxist-Leninist-Maoists, we cannot but recognize the role of President Gonzalo and his significant contributions to Marxist theory. He identified Maoism as the third and highest phase of Marxism, stating that Maoism is the Marxism-Leninism of the era of imperialism and modern revisionism. In addition, he made important contributions to Maoist theory, such as the militarization of the Communist Party, the theory of Jefatura [“Great Direction” in French, editor's note, cdp.] and the theory of concentric construction of the Party. These contributions are not only valuable for the Peruvian revolution, but also have universal relevance for the international socialist revolution. We must not forget this.
As for the influence of President Gonzalo and his ideology in Vietnam, initially, it was only mentioned through campaigns aimed at degrading his reputation by the government in place. In recent years, with the rise of the communist movement in Vietnam, the Gonzalo question has become an important issue among communists in our country. The revisionists, Trotskyists and pseudo-Maoists always seek to deny the role of President Gonzalo and use the propaganda tools of the imperialists to oppose him. Additionally, government loyalists and liberal forces are participating in this “campaign.” Thus, revisionists, reactionaries, and anti-communists created a sort of “sacred alliance” to oppose Gonzalo’s thought and contributions. Therefore, the immediate task of Vietnamese communists today is to wage a line struggle to defend President Gonzalo, uproot the weeds of modern revisionism, and advance toward the reconstitution of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
Thiago: How is the revolutionary movement developing in Vietnam and what are the current struggles of the masses in urban and rural areas?
Thang: The current “leaders” of the organized revolutionary movement are petty bourgeois. There are so-called “Marxist” groups, such as the “Red Flag League” and the “Young Marxists of Vietnam”. These petty bourgeois groups use memes to propagate and agitate, which is an action to ridicule Marxism, because Marxism is a revolutionary science and cannot be expressed through memes. This action is particularly remarkable among the Young Marxists of Vietnam.
There are also fake "Maoists" like the "Red Flag League", who deny Gonzalo and "defend" the Marxism-Leninism of Mao Zedong Thought, denying the advancement of the revolutionary struggle. They also engage in unnecessary debates online. These guys are also trying to make money by organizing readings of Chairman Mao Zedong's quotes instead of making them universal for the masses.
Luu: There are many strikes and disorganized revolutionary movements within the proletariat, which speak out against their conditions of exploitation. Many peasants are in conflict with the state over land issues. There was a recent revolt in which peasants attempted to reclaim their land by armed methods, such as during the Dong Tam revolt, but they were quickly and brutally suppressed by the so-called state “socialist”. Many uprisings have also taken place in the Central Highlands, but some of them have fallen under the influence of foreign reactionary terrorist groups and are not spontaneous like others. The masses are ready to fight for the revolution, but they are still disorganized.
Thiago: What is the general impression that the masses have of the Communist Party? What daily problems do the masses face and how are they exploited by capitalism and semi-feudalism in Vietnam today?
Luu: Within the petty bourgeoisie, there are two main camps, there is the opposition camp and the loyalist camp. The loyalist camp is generally made up of children of bureaucrats and people who know little about the state. The opposition camp is mainly represented by South Vietnam loyalists, all anti-communist, while the loyalists appear to be communist, but they leave communism aside, being only pro-state and anti-West.
Among the peasants and proletariat, we are not sure, but from what we see, the majority of them do not openly support the state, being rather neutral about the situation. However, the opposition of these classes, notably peasants and indigenous peoples, who took up arms and rose up against the state, was brutally repressed by the police forces. The only indigenous armed groups that carry out terrorist attacks are those sponsored by the United States and CIA agents, but they do not represent all indigenous movements and peasant movements that oppose the state.
The condition of the proletariat in Vietnam is not what one would call good, as even the state claims that many workers live in poverty and misery. The examples are numerous: their salary is not as good as the revisionists claim, and they barely earn enough to survive, as capitalism dictates. Even though schedules are not as strict and conditions are not as bad as in laissez-faire capitalism (like in Bangladesh or other Asian countries), state-controlled unions do the bare minimum to support the workers and seek to make them accept their crumbs and not to organize them.
A friend (who was 14, illustrating child labor) and a family member of mine worked in sweatshops and currently are in poor health, have difficult living conditions, work long hours and are not not paid enough for their efforts.
Thiago: What is the semi-colonial relationship that Vietnam maintains today with North American imperialism and Chinese social-imperialism?
Thang: That’s a great question! The relationship between the Vietnamese bureaucratic capitalist government and the Yankee and Chinese imperialists constitutes one of the most peculiar international relations for the Vietnamese state. First, the state called their relationship with them a "comprehensive strategic partnership", established with China in 2008 and with the United States in 2023. They export capital and goods to Vietnam, establish factories and monopolize the market . This relationship deepens the exploitation of capitalism and the semi-feudal condition of Vietnam.
Additional note from Luu: In terms of industry, citing data from the General Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Science and Technology, about 75% of Vietnam's technology and equipment come from foreign countries, this technology and equipment mainly come from developed countries and regions such as the United States, South Korea and the European Union, which have shown a slight upward trend in recent years (2022 data). Therefore, Vietnam is unable to develop many important industrial technologies (such as oil refining technology, metallurgy, shipbuilding, etc.), because Vietnam's industry is heavily dependent on foreign capitalist conglomerates.
Additionally, Vietnam is a “global sweatshop” with abundant resources and cheap labor. Therefore, Vietnam has become an ideal location for capitalist conglomerates from the United States, China and other capitalist countries to export capital, establish factories and enterprises, invest and control commercial capital in our country. The working class must endure hardship with low wages and difficult living conditions, without enjoying the fruits of their labor, which are instead seized by the capitalist class.
Moreover, the export of goods from the United States and China has disrupted the Vietnamese market, as the revolutionaries of the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc movement once said: "If our products are not purchased from the Chinese, they are bought from the West.”
Vietnamese agriculture relies heavily on Chinese traders, as agricultural products always depend on the purchasing needs of traders. Therefore, many difficulties are often encountered if China imposes border closures. Furthermore, the question of the “lease system” persists in certain small localities in central Vietnam, Vietnam still having feudal characteristics.
Thiago: How is the history of Vietnam, the international communist movement and Marxism taught in Vietnamese schools and universities?
Thang: There was a push towards nationalism and nationalist propaganda in Vietnamese schools by the revisionist clique, they masked Vietnamese settler colonialism against indigenous people and other minorities under the idea of ​​"expansion of territory through the recovery of wild lands” that they were formerly Champa and Chenla (Kampuchea Krom Region). This colonialism was called the “Nam Tien” march south and lasted for centuries. The revisionists also liquidated and erased the history of the struggle for autonomy of ethnic minority groups, supported by Ho Chi Minh.
Luu adds: There were autonomous zones in the North and Northwest mountains, and there was also the Autonomous Mountain People's Movement within the National Liberation Front.
The revisionists have omitted many important parts of the international revolutionary movement. They also dogmatically teach Marxism as a theory without practice in universities, leading students to label it a "nightmare" and only study it to succeed in college, instead of viewing it as a scientific view of the world. They present the Great Debate as a simple “Sino-Soviet split” rather than an international struggle against revisionism. They try to get people to “believe the Party line” without reservation. They immaterialize and trivialize Marxism in general.
Thiago: What is your opinion on Democratic Kampuchea [ Cambodia, editor's note, cdp.] and Laos? Is there a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist movement in these two countries today?
Luu: This is a delicate question for us. We recognize the national liberation of the people of Kampuchea led by the Communist Party of Kampuchea against the military dictatorship and the American imperialists. We maintain a neutral view of the policies implemented under his government, but we understand that Pol Pot betrayed the Cambodian revolution by supporting the revisionist clique of Deng Xiaoping and arresting the so-called "Gang of Four."
Pol Pot fell into revisionism in his later years. We also oppose the Vietnamese invasion of Kampuchea and the Chinese invasion of Vietnam; which was just a repeat of the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. It was a war that only served the profits of two social-imperialist blocs.
Laos today is a semi-colony of Chinese social-imperialism. This country owes China around 25 billion dollars and has had to destroy many lands and rubber plantations. In 2021, the Laos–China (Vientiane–Kunming) high-speed railway line entered service. In addition to tourism needs, this railway is also used to transport timber, rubber, food and minerals from Laos to China. This railway is part of the so-called “Belt and Road” proposed by the Xi Jinping clique.
The People's Revolutionary Party was formed after the Second Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In the 1950s, they were not a puppet of Soviet social-imperialism, but became one in the 1960s, falling completely into revisionism after the war and after gaining independence. , being occupied by fifty thousand Vietnamese soldiers, which signifies their dependence on revisionist Vietnam and the social-imperialist USSR. After the fall of the USSR, it became a semi-colony of China.
