We have had an UPS account from almost 50 years and ship hundreds of packages per month, yesterday, with zero warning, UPS told us they will no longer be picking up on Mondays and Wednesdays. We weren't given any notice, the driver simply called at 5pm (the time they normally pickup) to tell us that they weren't coming and would no longer be coming on Monday's or Wednesdays. No email, no notice by mail, no call from our rep...nada.

Completely out of pocket and out of left field, so naturally, I tell him to eat shit, I won’t be doing anymore free work and he can pay me a mere $30 (yes, thirty dollars) for the entire portfolio of audios, texts/scripts, videos, and clips I’ve taken from the internet that ‘match’ the vibe he wants in his videos.
Context: at this point I’ve completed SIX FULL VIDEOS FOR THIS DUDE and he’s only paid me the one payment of $200. Not good at maths? Me neither, lemme help you out. He owes me $1,200 from our original agreement because I’ve spent more than 48 collective hours working on his videos, and he’s only paid me $200. But I tell him: I’ll let it all slide if he pays me $30 for the portfolio of about 50 gigabytes, and then moving forward, he’d pay me the $10 per hour if he wanted more content from me. Obviously doesn’t work, my account (not PayPal account, my fucking bank account. these mf so overzealous that they reached right into my mf pocket!!!!) gets put in the negatives and I attempt to appeal, with no sweat on my brow ‘cuz I’m like no way PayPal finna let this slide. I then proceed to message my terrible relative multiple times, with texts, videos and audio recordings and I’m in a hysterical mess. I get mixed reviews from trainers about the same trainees. One trainer will say they are doing great the next will say the same trainee is doing awful and needs extra training. There’s one where I’ve literally had to swap my shifts to serving, so I could train her myself because she completely failed her certification.
I feel at a loss for what to do. I feel like even the people I have stepped down from bartending to train, are still not doing what I taught them, because they are looking at everyone else who just stands around doing literally nothing and follow suit. They don’t prebus, they don’t run food, they don’t do any running work, they take ages to do sidework that shouldn’t take long, they all ring in their orders incorrectly, they don’t have menu knowledge. They literally all just stand in the side stations or expo line talking while their tables need things, and then either get themselves weeded or wonder why they aren’t getting good tips or why their guests are so angry for “no reason”.
My veterans are getting burnt out and frustrated for picking up the slack. There’s not enough of them to balance out the shifts so there’s many shifts where there is literally one strong server on and the rest are basically useless. Management helps out a ton they basically become our food runners and we even pull hosts to help run food and bus tables to get us by, but I almost feel like it wouldn’t be necessary for the hosts to do that if the servers could just do their jobs.
I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has any experience in turning something like this around on a larger scale. Or just any advice at all. I just want to scream at everyone “if you are always standing around on shifts and not constantly busy that’s because you are a bad server” but obviously that’s not helpful or productive. We are a casual busy restaurant where we need to turn tables quickly and we do high volume. We already cut down servers sections smaller hoping to help, assuming they have too many tables, but then they just stand around and complain more that they’re not busy.
Edit to add: There are a few veterans who, when catching people standing around, just kind of yell at them to go do something but it almost seems to have the opposite effect. There’s two girls that used to run all their drinks from the bar right away. But if their drinks weren’t ready they would just stand there and wait. One of our bartenders yelled at them to “go run food or something” instead of standing there staring at her make drinks, and now I noticed they don’t even run their own drinks and I almost never see them at the bar anymore like they’re scared to go up there. We also had an expo tell a guy to “go bus your tables or something don’t just stand here” when he was standing on the line, and the rest of that night I didn’t see that server come back to the line to get food.
I’ve coached them on watching their tone when talking to the team members because it’s having the opposite effect. I did suggest giving them specific tasks to do, for example when I’m bartending I tell people “run those drinks and I’ll have yours ready when you get back”. But I want to make sure I’m giving good advice because I don’t want them to stop coaching I just want the coaching to be effective.

How do people that don’t have a ca don’t drive get around here? I’m new to the US and a year ago I moved to Puyallup with my boyfriend. He has a car that he mostly uses to go to work and very rarely get groceries since we get almost all of our stuff delivered. I used to work in Seattle and ride the Sounder every day after he dropped me at the station, he would also pick me up in the evening, but after I went unemployed we decided I would stay home and take care of the house keeping and the kids (cats). I am okay with our arrangement because it’s very difficult for me to find a job right now, and not exactly legal while i try to adjust my migratory status. He is working nights cause it pays better so he can supports both of us, but this leaves no time for me to ask him to be taking me here and there. He does a lot for us and I try to be as independent as I can when it comes to recreation.
As a young woman that used to have a lot of friends getting used to my new lifestyle is very challenging. My guy is a gamer so he is totally fine with spending his time off work playing video games and though I can enjoy it for an hour or two is definitely not my thing. I grew up going to the park every weekend and seeing friends all the time, my idea of fun is far away from sitting down for hours and never abandon my house. He is the kind to leave the house as little as possible, on the other hand I was used to go out a lot using the public transport, but there aren’t any buses near me, riding my bike around here requires a lot of energy living uphill. I feel like I’ve lost my independence, I can’t go anywhere and it just frustrates me to see my few acquaintances see all the beautiful places around, going on hikes, and even visiting places out of state, heck even going to the mall would be fun for me, when we go grocery shopping I get super excited to leave the house and het in the car to see people and get the feeling I have a life. What would you guys suggest? I go on walks alone sometimes, or I take my bicycle for a ride but not gonna lie, it kinda sucks. Is there somewhere I can make friends? When im up for a thrill I take a couple ones and walk to the dollar store but thats 50 minutes of walking and then 50 minutes back home. I don’t see many people here having friends to share ordinary stuff with, like visiting just because to watch tv and play cards. I am used to not having to spend money to see friends and have fun, at home friends would take the bus and travel through the city for considerable amounts of time to see each other but here people complain about having to drive to see someone so I don’t see myself making many friends considering It’s really hard for me to get out of my house and they should have to come to me. Where is the young cool motivated people at? I wanna smoke weed with them, I can walk to them! I feel like there’s so much to see and do, even if it’s just ordinary stuff. I’ve never been to the river, or seen the shore somewhere that wasn’t in Seattle. I want life to be exciting for me again but public transit is extremely limited both in the area it serves as in the hours it runs.

Hey everyone! I hope your wedding planning has been going well!
My wedding is in the summer of next year and despite the title I'm actually pretty excited about it. My fiancé and I are planning a destination wedding in my hometown. I call it a destination wedding because I've been living abroad for the past decade and besides my own family and childhood friends, most of my guests will be coming from quite far.
So far everything has been pretty straightforward and the only major source of stress has been my mother. I see here that this is a common dynamic, but I genuinely feel my mom is trying to live vicariously through me in my wedding and is being antagonistically persistent about having the wedding in the venue of her choice and the guest list that she wants. She herself had a small town hall wedding and I believe she resents that, and wants my wedding to be as "luxurious " as possible. To have a wedding at the five star venue that she wants would cost us nearly double our budget and adding everyone she wants would raise our guest list by over 50%. I do not believe most of the people she's inviting have ever had a meaningful conversation with me in my life. My mom is says she'll 10k to my wedding, but she's got a history of being flaky and has only contributed about 50% of what she promised to my other sibling's weddings and I'm keeping that in mind. Both of them have warned me about her backing out last minute and leaving them thousands of dollars over their budget.
Initially I've tried to be diplomatic and explain to her that it won't fit into our budget. She assures me it will be and even after I spoke to the venue manager and CC'd her in the emails showing in which HE explains that it's going to be radically over budget she keeps throwing fits saying she talked to him as well and offered her a special deal. Thankfully the venue manager suspected what was going on and literally ATTACHED her emails and was like, "Yeah. This is gonna cost $$$$$". It's been weeks and she still won't budge and says I'm exaggerating on the price. A few days ago my sister told me that she had lunch with my mom and she told her that she knows the venue is expensive but my fiancé's parent recently died and he got a good inheritance so she knows he has a lot of cash at hand. She doesn't think there's any problem with my fiancé paying a significant percentage of his inheritance on her "Dream wedding".
After hearing this, I've been seeing red and don't want to meet her in "the middle". I've always wanted a simple, intimate wedding anyways so I wrote in the group chat that I think I'll cut the guest list from my initial count of 100 to 70 (if she had her way the guest count would be 150) and I thought that my fiancé and I are thinking of doing a brunch wedding in a garden venue and planning various events for our out of country guests who I actually want to be there. My fiancé is supportive of whatever direction I go with but I worry about sacrificing the quality of my wedding to prepare for the worst case scenario with my mom? Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation and how did you manage?

After the classes gone online, I lost in a strange dillema and got distracted as it used to be online classes. I rarely touched any book and my tution used to be place where I would complete my afternoon nap.
I remember, my class teacher used to say that I'll hardly get 50% in 10th boards. And I used to agree and would say, "Chhodo bc!isse kya hoga?". Later came the boards still I was stress free still like a besharam my books/copies were still in place(very clean) and again the class where I used to give board was my place to complete my night sleep. Later came the result and guess what-I scored 87.3%. A person who used to get half in tution tests scored such percent without even touching books and copies.
My dream was to fly high and collect some respect. So, I was NDA aspirant and was really passionate about it. Even I was not that mad to my crush which I was to our armed forces.
A lazy man turned hardworking. But unfortunately I was enrolled into a coaching class for JEE. Continuous bad in mocks but still I was not bothered about it because my aim was way different than this. Later I faced accident and even after recovery I wouldn't even walk properly. Months passed still no improvement in my legs and my body would still give that pain which made me scream many times. Now other than JEE,BITSAT and CET no option was left. I worked hard still faced failures. That too even after analysing my weaknesses. I scored 92%ile in first attempt of JEE. And during my 12th boards my health deteorated and I didn't gave 2 exams(Maths and Chemistry). And I neither had that power to give CS. I fcked up my boards and bcs of that fear I fcked up CET. Yesterday,I gave BITSAT and I scored good buy today when I saw results. All gone to vain. I scored 45% in boards. All expectations and dreams fell hardly to earth.
Guys!never let ego and low self respect capture your mind. I lost my all opportunities just because of my attitude. Keep mt words in mind or else you'll end up loosing your wins too

Currently, I own a Coach Willow Shoulder Bag in Colourblock canyon(to be used for work), Coach Quilted Tabby 20 in Chalk(evenings out/dates etc) and Coach Swinger 20 in Black for regular use. However, I saw that some Strathberry bags were on sale for a very good deal so now I am tempted :< My main concern with mini crescent is the folding of the "flap" down the middle. For crescent box, I am worried it would look too bulky on me as I am rather petite and around 5'1 LOL For Lana Osette, I was on the lookout for a small bucket bag but I can't decide if I want to go for something more casual as the crescents are more formal and can be dressed up easily!! I am deeply conflicted and would appreciate any help :)
