I know I already posted something about Christianity and slavery yesterday but I wanted to make another post about something I pointed out in that last one about how the idea that the Christian God would even tolerate slavery was itself incomprehensible; I mean that it’s incomprehensible from the Christian ontological perspective as well as a biblical perspective, unless God actually just does see some amount of value in slavery.
Usually, in making this kind of argument to Christians, I rely on the point that God either directly designed for slavery to eventually develop in humanity or saw over time that humanity developed slavery and chose to do nothing about it. I think I’m actually giving Him too much credit when I argue this. Not only because God didn’t just watch as slavery developed, but indeed knew it from the beginning because he exists beyond time and beyond any concept like a “beginning,” but also because there is no logical way for an all-powerful all-knowing God to have created a race of beings with flaws that would lead to certain behaviors without knowing that it would lead to those behaviors and approving of them, and if God created human beings knowing that we would be afflicted with and overcome by evil and enslave countless people, he approved of that. I don’t care for the why, it’s just a logical requirement that he did.
And evidence that he did is found in the Bible as well. I and you all already pointed this out in the other post but just to reiterate, God did not just create human beings with the knowledge that they would eventually develop slavery, and he merely accepted that as an unfortunate necessity or something (even though it’s never been coherently articulated why its necessary that we or anything exist at all except for satisfying God’s lust for creation, or why creating us as a truly perfectly righteous people who could all worship and follow Him in peace wouldn’t satisfy whatever goals he has), but he provided explicit instructions for where to acquire your slaves, who can be enslaved, how you may treat them, and several stories endorsing slavery.
But let’s pretend that all of this evidence actually IS taken out of context as Christians often claim it is; the notion that the Bible condemns oppression and suffering does not a condemnation of slavery make. There are explicit condemnations of murder in the Bible. There are explicit condemnations of adultery in the Bible. If God wants to communicate that something is actually absolutely immoral, he can do so and apparently has. There are absolutely no explicit condemnations of slavery in the Bible. If God’s chosen method in the Bible of communicating what absolutely must not be done is explicitly absolutely condemning it, then the fact that no such verse exists for slavery is evidence enough that God does not absolutely condemn slavery. Meaning, he finds some amount of value in slavery.
Again if I am missing something crucial that throws this entire argument out let me know. Or expand upon it in the comments. Or block and report me for promoting terrorism or something.

I saw a post about a month ago about the sabbath and in the comments there was a guy named the celt that very strongly shut down a lot of the “Christians” I saw responding in the comments. I was raised Christian but have since fallen off and not held on to my belief because the faith I saw growing up in the southern United States was shallow. It didn’t seem to have very much substance.
However, this Celt fellow piqued my curiosity and I found this subreddit. I’ve lurked ever since and while I don’t think this group is any more perfect than the Christian’s I normally run into the people here seem to at least know what they are talking about. I haven’t fully committed to being a Christian or whatever this group seems to be but I am very interested to see what the group is about. What I feel the most guilt for is my addiction to pornography. I’m very much in the NoFap community because I am trying to drop that habit. I was wondering if there was a unique take on why getting rid of the addiction is beneficial within this community as well as figure out exactly what all of you believe.
Here is what I’ve been able to tell so far from reading y’all’s post:
God made the law, Leviticus and Deuteronomy, and you should obey all of it. I think some are in favor for salvific obedience and others just do it out of love, correct me if I’m wrong. Some of you really don’t like Paul and some of you are fine with him. You celebrate extra holidays. Some of you think that you should call God by a specific name like Yahweh, Yeshua, etc.
I admire the transparency and intellectual honesty that many of you have with your positions. Lots of people don’t stay consistent with their worldview when challenged. Especially on Reddit.
I do have lots of questions though when it comes to how you justify certain bible verses with your worldview. I’ve gone over a Christian YouTubers response named Mike Winger, who I watched a lot coming up, and he seemed to refute a lot of y’all’s claims. Anyways I’ll definitely be sticking around to see what y’all talk about but I’m not sure I can come around to believing the same things that you guys do.

I have a real life adult corporate job and need to be start acting like it instead of Gayloring on the clock, but I cannot stop thinking about this topic.

Foundations Of "The Man You Script" Theory:

My theory is that the manuscript is actually referring to “the man you script.” To me, this means the storylines that Taylor writes in her songs are (at least sometimes) driven exclusively by fans’ theories and delulu fantasies. It’s the man (men) they script that she writes about. One thing about Taylor is, she gives the people what they want.
I think sometimes the songs about the man the fans script are pure parody songs, and other times they are meant to lead Swifties to believe it’s about some random man Taylor has been linked with, when it’s obvious to Gaylors that it is gay.
There are so many examples of this in her discography, and IMO even more instances have occurred in recent years:

• London Boy: We (the public) knew almost nothing about Joe. In parallel to that, this is the most generic song Taylor could have ever written. It touches on the 2 Joe hints we get: he lives in London and he has a normal life and friends, (“pub/rugby with his school friends”). The rest of the song is lyrical vomit about the most touristy London attractions she could think of. It is the definition of camp and I am obsessed with how brilliant she is for trolling this hard.
• ATW 10 MV: The original All Too Well was relatively vague, but Taylor all but confirmed it was “about” Jake G when she released the 10 minute version. With mentions of him being older, dating younger girls, and famously missing her birthday. We knew about the missed birthday because of the moment I knew. More on ATW later.
• Is It Over Now?: Taylor mentions the literal only two known incidents with her and Harry Styles in this song: the snowmobile accident and the “blue dress on a boat” fiasco. One would think there would be other things they did together that were worth mentioning if the relationship was real, but she chose to call out two media-covered stories. Curious.
• So High School: I feel like Gen Z twitter wrote down bullet points of what they assumed Travlor’s relationship was like and sent it to Taylor before she wrote this. This song is chock full of “public knowledge” about the couple and as a bonus, dripping with sarcasm (lol). She went the extra mile in this one by adding in things that the public doesn’t necessarily know, but that they could infer stereotypical Travvy would love: American Pie and GTA. Oh, and knowing how to "ball" and opening her car door. ("Isn't that sweet?")
• The Alchemy: I don’t have the energy to list all of the stupid football references in this song. But the “Marry, kiss or kill me?” line and corresponding interview that went viral is so on the nose that it’s impossible she’s serious about this track.
• thanK you aIMee: On the fence on who this is even about, but I know it’s not Kim Kardashian. Taylor doesn’t have the energy to write a song about Kim, but she’s fine with Kim getting the credit for being the muse. (Queen behavior IMO)

You could argue that more songs on TTPD fit this category, for sure. Maybe Midnights, too. (If you can think of any others please leave them in the comments!)

How Does This Tie In With “The Man You Script?”

So much of TTPD, in my Gaylor opinion, is designed to set the foundation for Taylor to take part in revisionist history, start to call out her fans/weed out her homophobic fans, and be more “real” in general. TTPD is a departure (!! department) from anything we’ve ever heard from Taylor in a lot of ways. To me, it is the least Taylor Swift™ album we’ve ever heard from her. (Folklore and evermore are exceptions to this, but up until TTPD, the Swifties thought they were fictional.)
As the Manuscript goes:

Now and then she rereads the man you script Of the entire torrid affair They compared their licenses He said, "I'm not a donor but I'd give you my heart if you needed it" She rolled her eyes and said "You're a professional" He said, "No, just a good samaritan" He said that if the sex was half as good as the conversation was Soon they'd be pushin' strollers But soon it was over

Starting with “They compared their licenses," it reads like a movie script. It is also kinda jolting: they’re joking about their drivers’ licenses with this rom-com esque dialogue, and then all of a sudden it’s onto sex and strollers. And then it just ends. Does this not sound like the absurd and parasocial Swiftie narrative? A storybook beginning, 0-100 in 2 seconds (brand new, full throttle) and talk of babies. Then it goes down in flames. It’s an entertaining story (“are you not entertained?”), and sometimes Taylor looks back on it, on how all this began. I think it’s entirely possible Jake G was the first beard of Taylor’s, personally. And looking backwards is the only way to move forward. I think the first verse is about her first beard.

And the years passed Like scenes of a show The Professor said to write what you know Lookin' backwards Might be the only way to move forward Then the actors Were hitting their marks And the slow dance Was alight with the sparks And the tears fell In synchronicity with the score And at last She knew what the agony had been for

This verse references all the beards that followed. Taylor here validates my theory that her relationships are scripted. The professor (possibly her team?) says to write what YOU (the fan) knows. (The man YOU script; write what YOU know) They tell Taylor to write about the things the public thinks they know about her to protect her private life. Or at least disguise the muse as someone who fits in those parameters.
And, the fans loved it. It made her a gigantic, massive success. A superstar. It strengthened the parasocial relationships that contribute to her success. She was able to keep her private life private and put out stories that the fans crafted themselves (with some help from Tree).
But it isn’t her truth:

She used to take fan theories and assumptions and own them as her story and truth. The story is not hers anymore, and she is giving it back to the fans because it was their narrative all along.
I think she is saying she isn’t going to do this anymore after TTPD; No more songs like the ones I mentioned to feed the narrative. (On TTPD, I think she trolled the concept) Exile is expiring.

I had this run-in with a former classmate at the mall earlier. We had a brief conversation and then decided to take a picture. Nung nilabas ko yung phone ko na Redmi Note 13 Pro, she said "Ang yaman yaman mo na tapos phone mo ganyan lang? Ako na!" She then brought out her iPhone na di ko alam kung anong brand and then we took a selfie. She then said "Kung magpipicture ka rin lang, iPhone ka na."
Pinalampas ko yun coz di naman ako na-offend at wala akong paki.
But the following events really irritated me.
So nagdecide kaming sabay lumabas ng mall kasi pareho kami ng daan pauwi. She then asked me again bakit di ako nabili ng iPhone. I told her "Personally, I don't ever intend to spend 50k+ for a phone. Android man yan o Apple." She then told me the benefits of having an iPhone, like cloud storage, security features, and all other things. So I told her "E meron naman lahat nyan ang Android. It's how you fully maximize your phone's features that matters."
She then told me this: "There's no harm naman kung sasabihin mo sa akin na di mo kaya bumili ng iPhone. You don't have to pretend that you prefer Android more. Kung chipipay ka, chipipay ka. Chariz!"
So I stopped walking and told her this: "So who bought your phone? Ikaw ba?" Before she could answer, I followed it up: "Hindi ikaw bumili nyan. Tangina nagdadala ka ng fake Gucci sa mall so wag kang magmalaki."
She looked unconfortable already, but I didn't plan to stop there: "Saka tangina naka iPhone ka nga, pero nakita ko post mo sa SocMed nung isang araw, sabi mo meron kang soar throat. Sore throat yun bobo."
At this point, inawat na kami ng guard sa may Bench and baka may nakapag video nun. Ewan ko lang kung ilalabas kasi sa later part na ako medyo napasigaw. In any case, nag walk out na ako palayo sa kanya and she seemed very upset.
A few hours later, she posted a picture of her with her fake Gucci bag and the caption "Ang mapagmataas ay binababa..." Di ko tinapos pero I think bible verse yun. I blocked her but not after leaving the comment 'Sana magaling na soar throat mo.'

Last night he, my nephew, and I were having dinner.
My nephew lives with his girlfriend. They are not married. According to the Bible, premarital sex is sin. During dinner, my dad referred to my nephew's girlfriend as my nephew's WIFE. I immediately asked my nephew if he got married or engaged. Nephew said no. I asked my dad why he referred to them as husband and wife.
He said because "in the eyes of God they are already married". No I don't think they are. God says premarital sex is SIN. Moving in together doesn't make it no longer sin. I identify as nonbinary and one verse my dad always used against me is "God made them male and female." He says I am defying God and giving Him the middle finger by refusing to identify as nonbinary. I even had gender affirming top surgery. Yet when talking about other trans/LGBTQ+ people my dad uses their proper pronouns. I've asked him why they use theirs and not mine and he says:

I think at it's core, my dad is not okay with having a nonbinary child. Growing up there has always been double standards that are set up for me to always be in the wrong morally. I suspect this might be because I'm adopted.
This morning, I called out the double standard dad has. I told dad that referring to my nephew and his girlfriend as husband and wife is ~AFFIRMING THEIR SIN~. I told him he is being a hypocrite and cherry picking which sin to accept. Why are they not living in sin when they are having premarital sex but I am sinning by not being nonbinary?

I posted this question on christianity but too many atheists and liberal Christians replied so I thought I would give this subreddit a try. to start off I’ve been a Christian for about a year and I’ve developed a strong relationship with Jesus. The only problem is that I’m only attracted to other guys and I’m not at all attracted to girls. I’ve heard that you could be delivered from homosexual attraction so every day for months I prayed that god will make me straight but nothing ever changed, I’m still gay. I am slowly giving up on life and becoming discouraged from even caring about myself and my future. Before I used to have a vision of my future but now I just think that I’m going to have to stay single for life, and if I am bound to be single what is even the purpose of trying. I don’t even care about what others think about me anymore and I just go to school every day with pajamas and messy hair because I don’t even care anymore, I get below an F in all my classes. I don’t know what to do because sure I could get through high school single and be just fine but what about after that. Do I just have to pretend to be straight my whole life and get married to and have sex with a woman? Do I have to be single and a so called “side B Christian” which I’ve heard somewhere even THAT is wrong, And of course getting married to a man would lead to destruction, and I know the Bible condemns it in Leviticus 18:22 ‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable‘ as well as many other verses. like I said I’m so lost. I wake up every day disgusted by myself and how god literally sees me as an abomination. All this has led me to consider suicide, and I found out that even suicide will lead me to hell. So as you can see I’m very lost and I don’t know what path would be best. I’m 15 and a freshman in high school by the way.

The word ‘jew’ is a modern word. It’s only been around for a few hundred years so when we talk about jews in ancient times, we cannot use the modern moniker we thoughtlessly use today. In doing so, we mistakenly link modern day ‘jews’ to the people of the Bible, the descendants of Judah.
The word jew comes from, depending on what language we are using, ‘Judean’, which was a person who dwelt in the land of Judea.
If I move to Japan, does that make me Japanese? Thankfully not, and as such, we can say the same thing for the people who moved to the southern part of ancient Palestine in the days of John Hyrcanus. Josephus informs us that it is he that is responsible for bringing in this mixed multitude(mostly Edomites) and forcing them to convert to the laws of Moses, what we later call Christianity.
Later in the 2nd to 6th century A.D., the term Judaism was applied to the religion of these Edomites(Idumea), Canaanites, and Pharisees, just like they hijacked the word “jew” so they could pretend to be the people of the Bible.
This is also why they include the Torah in their “holy” book, their ultimate source of Pharisaism(modern day Judaism), the Babylonian Talmud. It’s Identify theft; they need some truth in their books to push their lies and deception.

Hello my beloved Sisters and Brothers in Jesus Christ,
I have self image and self confidence issues because of the bullying I have experienced for three years in high school. Those voices of bullies still affect me to this day. I am suffering from depression and other mental issues. Is it wrong or a sin to affirm during the day, listen and meditate on bible verses which say how God sees me. My goal is to break strongholds in my mind which are scientifically limiting and negative beliefs in my subconscious mind and transform my mind (which apostle Paul also calls us to do).
My affirmations would be: 1. I am a child of the most high and almighty God through my faith in Jesus Christ. 2. I am a God's masterpiece created in Jesus Christ to do good works which God prepared for me in advance. 3. I am created in the image of the most high and almighty God. 4. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. 5. I am free through Jesus Christ. 6.I am whole and enough through Jesus Christ. 7. I am strong in the Lord and his mighty power. 8. I am strong and courageous because the God is always with me. 9. By Jesus stripes I am healed. 10. I am victorious and I am courageous because Jesus Christ overcame the world. 11. I am so dear and precious in God's eyes that he knows how many hairs there are on my head. 12. I have faith which moves mountains and throws them in the sea. 13. I am a God's heir together with Jesus Christ. 13. I am capable because my capabilities come from God. 14. I am blessed with every spiritual blessing. 15. I love myself and I my neighbour with all my heart. 16. God loves me deeply, unconditionally and forever..., etc. (all from the bible of course).
All I want to do is to see myself as God sees me. I don't want to go into occult or witchcraft so I am asking you for help and guidance. I have read a lot about limiting beliefs and how they affect our emotions and behaviors so I would like to change them with God's word.

There was no law against marrying foreign women universally. However, according to Deut 7:4, marrying an idol worshiper was a bad idea.
Was Nehemiah against Israelites marrying Moabitess?
Not exactly. He lumped the Moabites with the Canaanites because they were all pagan groups. More to his point was that He was against Israelites marrying a pagan.
Today, we can apply Nehemiah's wisdom for Christians not to marry non-Christians.

The Bible is the name for 66 books that are divided into the Old and New Testaments. There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament, and the last book in the Bible is called Revelation and it is a book written by the apostle John.
"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, given to Him by God, to show His servants what will soon be, and He showed it by sending an angel to His servant John."

We read here that Revelation is written and the logical conclusion is that something was revealed in this book that was hidden or something that people did not know how to interpret or did not have the conditions to reach certain truths to analyze and interpret them. We are a generation that practically fulfilled these conditions because we have the Bible, we have technology that helps us reach certain knowledge that was inaccessible to earlier generations, and we also have the promise written in the Bible that knowledge will multiply in the end, which means that we can easily analyze and interpret these information and truths that we find in the last book of the Bible, Revelation.
"And you, Danilo, close these words and seal this book until the end of time; many will search, and knowledge will multiply."
Daniel 12:4
In addition to this, we have the privilege of seeing the signs of the times that are written in the Bible and have been fulfilled in the last few decades, years or are being fulfilled. This fulfillment of certain signs of the times for some generations was a distant future in the form of prophecy, and we can say about some of them. that they were almost fulfilled and we have some signs that they were fulfilled just a few months ago.
In the Revelation, there are records and truths that were written down and presented in the symbols that were used in the Old Testament, there are also truths that were covered by the "veil of prophetic language" and there are also many "pictures" that are mentioned in the Old Testament that were presented God's prophets in the form of prophecy.
Apart from these details found in the Old Testament, the Revelation is in fact full of truths concerning the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and about the events that will take place in the future, and this is for now and for us a prophecy that will surely happen and be fulfilled because if until now the Bible has "fulfilled" there is no reason why only these events related to the end times, the second coming of Christ and the New Heaven and the New Earth will not be fulfilled as prophesied in the Bible.
A large part of Revelation is also reserved for Satan and the end of sin, because the final end of Satan and sin is described there, and all of this is connected with the apocalyptic events that will happen in the future, and the actor of those events is Satan.
At the very beginning of the Revelation it is written under the title "Revelation of St. John the Theologian" and this means that this Revelation was written by the apostle John and it does not mean that this Revelation is John's, John only wrote this down and whose Revelation we see at the beginning of the first verse where it says "Revelation of Jesus Christ" (Revelation 1:1). So this is the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, this is the Revelation of God's plan and not someone's idea.
The central figure of the Revelation is the Lord Jesus Christ, who will come in glory and power to take the earth from Satan, solve the problem of sin and death and God's plan of the "end times", the thousand-year kingdom and finally transition into eternity.
The Lord Jesus comes in power and glory to judge those who do not believe in him and save those who wait for him, and we read about this:
"So that you are not lacking in any gift, you who are waiting for the revelations of our Lord Jesus Christ."
1 Cor.1:7
"And to you who are tormented, rest with us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven with the angels of his power"
2 Thess. 1:7
Therefore, those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus will be followed by a terrible judgment and eternal punishment, and those who wait for Jesus will have "rest", i.e. perfect peace in the Lord Jesus Christ, and they will not worry about the terrible judgment that will surely come.
In Revelation we can see the final end of human history, political turmoil in the last times, we can see the last ruler of the Antichrist as well as the last battle - Armageddon as well as the final judgment on Satan.
"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, given to Him by God..."

Here we clearly see that the author of this book is God the Father and He gave this book to Jesus Christ. And now the question arises, is Jesus not God, how is the Father giving him something now, does God need to be given something?
The answer is in the following, while Jesus was on earth in his humiliation He willingly humbled himself to the will of the Father, even Jesus limited himself in knowledge so that from the following verses we see that Jesus did not know everything while he was on earth.
"And of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father alone."
Matt. 24:36
But when the Lord Jesus left in glory after the resurrection, he received all the knowledge and all the original glory and now God the Father gives Him the book of the Revelation of glory which comes as a gift with all the events that will happen until the end of the world and entering eternity in addition to the gifts of resurrection, ascension and sending the Holy Spirit to the church that Jesus redeemed. And after the resurrection, the Lord Jesus said
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."
Matt. 28:18
And God the Father exalted the Lord Jesus and gave Him a name that is greater than every name in heaven, on earth and under the earth. It is written about this in the Epistle to the Philippians.
"But he humbled himself by taking the form of a servant, becoming like other people and appearing as a man.
I humbled myself by becoming obedient to death itself, and death to the cross. That is why God also exalted Him, and gave Him a name that is greater than every name. That in the name of Jesus every knee of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth should bow; And every tongue to confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:7-11
"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, given to Him by God, to show His servants what will soon be, and He showed it by sending an angel to His servant John."
Rev. 1:1
Now in the second part of the first verse we see that Jesus sent an angel to show John "what will soon be" and John should have written it so that we "servants" could see the events that will happen in the future. And we can to say that only the servants of God can understand this book because someone who does not believe in Jesus will not take seriously the truths that are written in this book, but will find some "reasonable" explanation for some events that cannot be explained by the great knowledge we possess today.
The Bible itself testifies to this.
"And the carnal man does not understand what is of the Spirit of God; because it seems foolish to him and he cannot understand, because he needs to look around spiritually."
1 Cor.2:14
And as for the part of the verse, "what will soon be" we would say differently soon, however, almost two thousand years have passed since this was written but it has not yet been fulfilled. Today we can see that the end time is near but how far we don't really know that because time is different for God and us, God is outside of time and we are limited on earth and depend on the change of day and night.
The Bible says the following about time:
"For a thousand years before Your eyes are like yesterday's day, when it passes, and like a watch of the night."
Psalm 90:4
Therefore, in the eyes of God, a thousand years is like a night watch, but not in our eyes, and the fulfillment can be very fast, and maybe not we don't know, God knows, but based on the signs of the time, we can conclude that the time is near because we can see some signs that earlier generations could not, and for them they were prophecies, and we can see the fulfillment, literally speaking, "live".
And at the end of the verse we see that the angel brought and showed the Revelation to John who was a fisherman son of Zebedee and became an apostle after Jesus called him to join him and become a disciple.
Later, John wrote the Gospel according to John, three epistles (1, 2 and 3 John) and Revelation. and he was also a preacher in the Church of Ephesus, from where he was exiled to the island of Patmos, and it is believed that he wrote the Revelation in 95-96 AD on Patmos.
And we end with a verse from Revelation
"These are faithful and true words, and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show his servants what will happen soon."
