I started working at a company almost a year ago and this month we received our merit raise. I am the only black female in my department. My performance review was positive but I only received a 65 cent raise. One of the males who my manager actively complains about doing nothing and consistently asks me to help them out received a 75 cent raise but has been there for over a year. Another male who isn’t terrible at their job but not as good got a promotion which raised their pay $3.52. Both white males. Lastly the female who works in my department also had issues with their rate who started before all of us initially got a raise of 25 cent to now after the complaint is getting equally paid with the 2 males We all are set to receive back pay from January. The issue that I am having is that someone who started as freelance got hired on recently at a higher rate than what I would be getting paid even after the raise. I told my manager i wasn’t happy with my raise and he said he crunched the numbers so now I would be getting $1.60 as a new raise. Even though the female did exactly what I did she’s getting her new rate in her back pay and I am not. I asked my manager and messaged HR and they are refusing to give my new rate in back pay. Should I file a discrimination suit ?

For background my wife Lola (38F) and I (37M) are swingers, we have rules and because of those rules it works in OUR marriage. Occasionally Lola will tell her childhood best friend Jessica (40F) about our crazy fun nights, which kinda lead to this ordeal.
So 3 years ago Jessica and her husband started going on a health kick and began drastically loosing weight, my wife and I fully supported this. Jessica would explain that she happily lost 85 lbs while her husband Rodger would complain that the diet makes him miserable he too lost about 45 lbs.
This went on for over 2 years and all things considered they both look amazing. But I noticed that they were getting distant towards each other.
One Friday night in January, Jessica called begging us to pick her up and get her out of her house (some type of trouble at home). So we drive over and instead of us coming in and saying hi to everyone she basically rushes out, saying Rodger was downstairs pissed and refused to come out.
We went to a local pool bar and when we’re asking what the deal was Jessica asks Lola to talk privately. I go to buy the next few rounds and when I come comeback Lola is noticeably shook, face is pale white. I try to press for information but get the “don’t worry about it” although Jessica does let a few thing slip throughout the night. Apparently she and Rodger haven’t had sex in a while and Rodger had started eating out again, constantly. We play our games, enjoy our drinks, then drop Jessica off her house.
Jessica asks me to talk to Rodger and try to cheer him up. Keep in mind I don’t know anything, so I get him a beer from the fridge and join him in the basement. I ask him what gives and instead of talking to me about the subject he brings up baseball stats and starts texting me.
“What would you do if your wife cheated on you? Jess has been having an affair, for over 2 years”
Realizing what he’s doing I start talking about the team’s short stop and wait for the next message.
“The bitch made me starve myself for years, just to make me a cuck. The only reason we’re on that stupid diet and going to the gym is because Jessicas fling wanted her skinny enough to pick up and pin to a wall” Swinger or not, I feel bad for any person who’s being cheated on.
Fast forward through the bulk of his texts, apparently he suspected Jessica of cheating, so Rodger installed security cameras without telling her. Then later that week he had proof, her co-worker Petter “came by to drop off some things” immediately after Rodger left for work, stayed for about 40 mins then left clothes all messed up. When Rodger got home he found used condoms in the trash and dirty lingerie in the hamper. That was roughly last September, in November he confronted her about “thinking” she was cheating, he explained that he wouldn’t ask if she was, but if she was and broke it off, they could do therapy to fix their relationship, basically giving her an out. However he got very depressed and the relationship just kinda fizzled out, keep in mind he was actively telling me this in January.
Apparently that morning Rodger had taken their kids out of school to go to the hospital for a paternity test. (Yes both kids are his, but that act of pulling them out of school caused additional drama) I did what I could to comfort him, asked what I could do to help. He typed he had everything under control but if he did eventually file for a divorce he asked I talk to his lawyer about him getting custody. I said yes and he told me he’d give me more info on Monday.
After that I had to go, my wife and I said our goodbyes then went back up our car. Lola immediately told me Jessica’s side of the story, because yeah we don’t keep secrets at all. Apparently Jessica wanted to be swingers like us. Lola’s stories inspired Jessica to ask Rodger he said no.
Rodger is apparently very Vanilla “missionary only and only for reproduction” kinda guy. And that was ultimately what caused Jessica to cheat with Petter, who did not love her back just liked having a regular FWB.
We both talk about them while driving home and I showed Lola all the texts from Rodger. Which ultimately caused us to fight. Lola got mad at me for saying Rodger was a Victim because Jessica cheated, she forced him to go on a crazy diet and join a costly gym just to further her affair, and that he is justified in demanding a paternity test for their two kids. Additionally if he want to file for divorce that’s understandable but Lola felt Jessica was the Victim (or about to be one) because Rodger went behind her back to conduct the paternity test and his due to depression eventually making it their sex life non-existent, if he wants to try and rebuild their relationship he needs to follow through with the “adult time”. And she says that regardless of the reason behind it the diet did get them in better shape, a the ends justifies the means kinda thing.
Eventually Lola told Jessica that Rodger was thinking about it and that caused a big fight at their house, Rodger left and stayed at his parents house for the weekend. Monday came and went and he didn’t tell me anything so I assumed they tried to repair things.
That following Thursday, Rodger served her divorce papers while she was at work. And he had told Jessica boss about affairs mentioning he had videos proving it (multiple, all 3 months worth of Petter visiting prior to him confronting her, and one dated afterward when she “stopped” seeing him ) Peter and Jessica were both fired shortly after as part of a breach in contract due to inner office relations.
Lola keeps saying I need to help Jessica, since she’s a single mom of two and is about to be homeless and unemployed, apparently since the divorce Jessica’s entire family found out the full details (to include that we’re swingers and have distance themselves from all of us, it’s a small community so the gossip spread around) and no one is helping Jessica except my wife.
It is now May and they have fully divorced. Rodger is finally talking to me again, for a while he assumed we’d played with his wife which I explained no we haven’t. We brought it up once long before they were dating but decided she’s too much of a friend that she’s almost family and it’d be weird. He now has partial custody and although he lost most his things in the divorce, they agreed to sell their house although she’ll get the higher percentage. I took Rodger to find an affordable 3 bedroom for when he has the kids.
My wife says I’m being sexist only helping the guy because I’m a guy. However I feel he is a complete victim here. Regardless what a judge says, his wife cheated and ruined their family. I’m unsure if he went too far by serving her papers at work, he definitely should’ve told her boss about who the other man was but yeah overall I think he’s the victim.
AITA for siding with Rodger?

I live in NYC, so in 2019 I was enrolled at Kingsborough Community College (a 2 year) to pursue a associates degree in forensics science, unfortunately circumstances led me to attend here for 4 years rather than 2, it's my own fault.
I planned to transfer over to Jay to continue and get a bachelor's in forensics science at John Jay Criminal justice College. However I read on stories, getting a degree for one specific career is not good, it pretty much traps you to only get jobs in that field, I read how people recommend getting a degree in a broader field, for example it would be best if I major in some science like physics, chemistry, or major in a math.
John Jay doesn't seem to have a science or math major program, so I may have transfer over to a school with those programs. I've already been out of school waiting to start my first semester at John Jay in August, so I'm scared to prolong it even more to apply to different colleges, be accepted, transfer credits and etc.
Another question, for FAFSA last year I placed that I would attend John Jay this year. But let's say I do decide to transfer to a different school, will that be an issue for FAFSA?

I’m super excited because I’ve been searching where to get tested as an adult for years. My therapist and I found a few in my area. I called around and some didn’t do evaluations on adults anymore or not at all. We found one place but the waiting list was insane. So I decided to just make the appointment, which was initially November of 2025. They called today and said someone canceled and they have an opening for June, of this year!
I’m 95% sure about this. My niece was diagnosed when she was 16 (2 years ago), but we act pretty much the same. Especially in our teen years. The things her mom tells me is exactly the type of things I do or have did. She always joked that that was my child since we act so much alike. I think that’s why I’m her favorite person in this world. I’m one of the only people who could understand her. We grew up more like sisters since we’re only 9 years apart.
Either we’ll rule this out or I am autistic.

1) Lamy Persona - [B] 14KT OM. I bought this pen NOS from a store in Germany. A customer had the initials "H.H." engraved on the bottom of the pen but never came back for the pen. This model is the (nicer IMO) predecessor to the Imporium with its wrap around nib and distinctive spring loaded clip. The pen writes great and is in like new condition apart from the engraving on the very bottom of the pen. It comes with the original threaded Lamy converter. I have misplaced the original box but will include a Lamy box with the pen. $295.
2) Sheaffer Legacy I - [B] 18kt M nib. Also purchased NOS. This pen has only been filled a couple of times and has the "Touch Down" filling system. I believe you can use a standard Sheaffer cartridge with this pen but I have not tried it. Writes great. One of the last Made in the USA Sheaffer pens from the late 90s. Asking $245
3) Sailor Realo Maroon - [B] - 21kt F nib. This pen was purchased new by me in January of 2023 and filled twice since then. It has Sailor's updated nib design. Works great and comes with the original box and paperwork (not pictured). Asking $215

All right I need a little bit of advice so I've made this friend in Middle School he's not the best he says he has habits and I keep on trying to help him and be patient and I've told him to like don't be rude don't say that please don't do that it's like I've said this to him a thousand times already but he doesn't listen and he's also rude to other people and he always has excuses like he's into my classes and he wasn't getting good grades and he just kept on telling my teacher which the classes study skills he keeps on telling the teacher oh my schedule got changed so this is why I got to f oh I'm feeling in this because blah blah blah it's just annoying sometimes and one day I told him if he keeps on doing this I don't want to be your friend anymore and he took it as me not wanting to be his friend anymore he went to the counselor he went to the study skill teacher and they both talk to me about it and they asked me to give him a second chance but I don't want to let me give you guys some backstory I had this friend of a friend and I kept on giving him second chances he kept on doing extremely rude and homophobic and transphobic slurs to one of my friends and I kept on giving him second chances I gave them too many not that I realize it he was terrible and now I don't know what to do cuz I have a little bit of trust issues because of him I just need some advice what do I do

So I’ve been doing a log of my deliveries… I copy and paste the address of the delivery and then I put the mileage it would be to reach from my current location (the warehouse, and if it is a 2 trip delivery I will calculate the next destination from the 1st location).
My question is:
When I’m done with my trip of deliveries, do I count the driving back to the warehouse as mileage ? Thanks guys

Long story short, my roommate and I have had an ongoing conflict about her boyfriend being over. We made an agreement about how long/often is appropriate for him to be here initially when they started dating, but it’s one that she hasn’t abided by in the slightest. Considering how much he is here, he very much should be pitching in for rent/utilities, but I never forced the issue until I realized she had no interest in respecting my boundaries or the fact that I am on the lease also. I guess somehow I am now the enemy in her eyes now because I don’t want a third roommate that I never agreed to having.
So last month, I split the utilities bill in thirds and asked her for 2/3rd, to compensate for increase in utilities/shared items that go a lot faster now that he stays here most of the time. He never contributes to anything. Now, she’s ignoring me, through text and in person, and I’ve sent gentle nudges about the utility bills being due and offered to talk to her about it if she has any objections or questions - still ignored.
I’ve paid it all myself to avoid late fees, considering utilities are in my name. And the next utility bill is due in a week, but I haven’t asked her since she’s still ignoring me and refusing to pay me for last month. Unfortunately, we do not have a written agreement about how things are paid so I know if I eventually wanted to take her to small claims (if this continues), I have no recourse. I did text her and say we should sit down and write out a roommate agreement, and she has ignored that as well. This is just the beginning of her increasingly weird behavior since she’s gotten a boyfriend (which isn’t worth getting into)
I don’t want to be reactive- more so trying to play play chess not checkers here. She pays the rent with a check to our landlord and I just zelle her my part of rent, but I was considering subtracting the amount of utilities that she refuses to pay when I send her my part of the rent.
Maybe I’m thinking too hard about it, but I don’t want a paper trail or something that she can somehow use against me in anyway that I haven’t been “paying my share of rent” if I continue to just subtract the utilities she won’t pay. Legally, could this bite me in the ass somehow? I’m only worried because I’ve ended up in housing court before and some things I didn’t think through with dealing with other roommates irresponsible behavior ended up biting me in the ass cause on papeaccording to the leasing contract I did something wrong.
Any advice on how to handle this? Could this possibly be enough of an issue to raise to my landlord and break my lease? Everything was fine before she got this boyfriend and it’s like some switch went off and she’s being very cold, inconsiderate, and weird, which isn’t super unlike her but it gets worse as time goes on. Don’t think I can handle 9 more months if this but I refuse to let her bulldoze my boundaries AND refuse to pay me money she owes.

I owe 41k on a 2020 Kia Telluride SX prestige with 103k miles. It needs about $2,000 worth of maintenance work done so the service guy who I’ve worked with for years asked why we don’t just trade it in. He looked up the JD Power and told us to ask for $30k which seems insanely high to me, but we have an appointment tomorrow to discuss trading it in.
I was thinking of leasing since this is our 2nd vehicle (we have a 2023 K5) and we keep trading every 3 years anyway, really we would want this new vehicle for a cross-country road trip we’re taking next week and then it would just be an in town driver. I’d probably do 15,000 miles a year at 36 months.
Just looking for feedback as this will be my first lease.
I do have a small concern that this road trip is going to eat 6,500 miles up of the 15,000 allotted for the year though. It would be the only trip we take in it this year but still.

I've recently moved home for the summer after being away at uni for 8 months and its 2 weeks in and been really hard so far. I come from a family with a lot of mental health issues and it has taken a lot out of me. I live with my mom, who I believe is a narcissist and my sister who has struggled a lot of trauma as a result. I feel like I have lost my life, I moved from a big city where anything was possible and I was always busy and preoccupied back to my small town with nothing to do but hear about my dad and grandpas issues (from my mother that also has them). To make matters worse, I don't have my license and it is very hard to get around and do things without one. I have been trying to get enrolled in drivers training courses and get important tasks done that I would need my mom for here and she has been no help and has been burying herself in work, her boyfriend, and my sister. Any trip I may want to take has been shut down and come back with a negative response and I feel so angry and like I've lost my life. I don't know what to do, I don't know how I'm going to take 4 more months of this, I have no job, no savings anymore, and my social life is a lot less than what it was in high school. I feel trapped. Hoping I can get a job soon.

Hello everyone, just want to get some advice before I try and pursue this process.
I’m looking to retroactively withdrawal a semester from my local community college in 2018. That was when I was about a year out of highschool, and I’m not going to give the full sob story, but life was nowhere near as stable as it is now and things got progressively worse in my personal life until I ended up not attending the last couple weeks. It was four classes over one semester, I had one look at my grades at the end but I think it was something like one B two Cs and a D or F for what should have been easy classes. I just checked my transcript status and I also still have an outstanding balance of around 1300 dollars. Fast forward six years, I’ve enrolled at a different community college with a fresh transcript and just finished my first semester with all As. I am now completely confident in what I want to go school for and have an enthusiasm for academic pursuit I’ve never had in my life. I think a lot of this is just from how life has stabilized from how chaotic it was. Something that is bugging me now is the realization that this botched semester transcript from six years ago can and will come up when it comes to higher education and future applications. So I just contacted that colleges offices and they gave me an email for a guy at admissions who would be the one to talk to, along with an academic registration appeal form. I’m curious if anyone has had such an experience with appealing a semester so that it simply shows up as withdrawn on future transcripts, and if they are willing to just do it with the semester as a whole. I really hope that this process is possible so I am not constrained by this one semester at a completely different time in my life, and even if it isn’t I believe I can still succeed, I just want the academic freedom of having it truly taken care of.
I also want to say that this is absolutely no fault of the institution or professors, and while I can blame the at home circumstances I was dealing with at the time, it ultimately was my fault and how I handled that period of my life, and I am definitely seeking grace in this process.

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on this situation. My aunt paid for 2 cabins with 2 people in each one (including her husband that died before sailing). She paid the initial deposit and accepted the Vac Protection plan for all 4 of us. Full balance due was paid before the due date but after her husband passed away.
At the final payment, her booking agent charged her the fare for 2 people. including taxes, port fees, gratuities and trip insurance. In other words she was charged and paid for the solo supplement which is basically the cost of 2 people in the cabin. Her travel agent sent her a $90 check and said that was all she was due when her husband died.
To summarize, all total she paid over $6,000 for the 10 day cruise. Three of us went and one died beforehand.
The question is should she be reimbursed for the solo supplement since she purchased the vac protection insurance?

In my studio apartment there is a wall of the kitchen connecting to the bathroom. We had some pretty bad storms in the Midwest recently and when that happened rain water started leaking through the ceiling onto my kitchen counter and leaving a stain on the ceiling of my bathroom. The stain in the bathroom developed into a black mold that made the bathroom smell bad.
I started messaging my landlord about it the morning after I noticed, and she sent someone in to look at it. Literally he just came in and looked at it then left. Then 3 or so days later I messaged asking if they were going to do anything, and the guy came in and scraped the mold off the ceiling and left again.
I asked if they were going to give it a permanent fix, and she said the ceiling would need to come down and I needed to move my stuff out. She said there was a unit down the hall but my rent would increase $250 a month. I told her I could not pay that and she said that I could just move in for a few weeks while the work is done and move back into my unit after, no charge. She told me that would be within a day or two and I asked her to let me know when I could move.
It’s been almost 2 weeks and she hasn’t reached out to me about moving. I told her I needed a copy of my lease and she seemed to try to avoid it at first and started asking me why I needed it, but I got her to agree to let me get it. When I went in she tried to get me to sign a renewal for the next year since my lease ends in 2 months, but I refused, got my lease and left.
I’m wondering what my next steps are? This is my first apartment and first interaction with my landlord really since I moved in. I’m a college student and I do have people to stay with for some time if I need to crash somewhere and look for a new apartment. I’m a college student in nebraska. Thank you for any help.
Tldr; my apartment has black mold from a rain leak and my landlord is avoiding taking action. What can I do about it?

I have two medical bills that show in my Intermountain healthcare account and I wanted to pay them off but they show they’re in collections, one is from an ER visit for $2,200 last year and one is $880 from over 5 years ago that I didn’t know about until recently. I haven’t been contacted from any collections agencies yet and I finally have the money to pay these off in full. I want to still try to get as much taken off as possible but I fear that contacting them first would be a bad move. What’s the smartest play for this?

Hello guys, im running a airbnb in Spain and had great reviews so far. The appartement has a special tourist license and is only made for airbnb. So far only 5 star reviews and one 4 star review. I am a superhost, guests favorite and top 5%. Now I had a guest staying and leaving the following 2 star review: „The second room did not have a bed but a sofa extremely small. Power panel shuts down when using stove, washing machine and ac simultaneously. Stairs were dark until we discovered that green switches were also stair lights after we were told not to touch them by the host as they are rings by the neighbours“
1.st claim is just a lie. The second bed is a single bed that is made to a double bed which is 1.80cm (with two mattresses, slatted frame). Exactly as described in my listing (it is even bigger then the master bed) 2. power outages has nothing to do with my power panel, I live 2 mins away and when the guests texted me that the power went off I believe there was a power outage in the whole neighbourhood which is common in Spain as I explained to them. We have it a couple of times a year (nothing I can do! 3. i send every guest a message with a detailed explanation which switches are light switches + which are door bells so i guess they did not read my instructions
Also I can see in the review mail that they said that the location was inaccurate (which is just a blatantly lie, the location is a 100% accurate)
They told me they did not feel safe in the neighbourhood where I responded to them don’t worry I live next door and I chose this neighbourhood because it is way safer then the city center & never anything happened to me or my wife no matter which time of the day.
I called airbnb and they said there is no violation in their policy for the review which I don’t understand at all. How is it not defaming to say there is no bed but a sofa when there is a bad? I understand subjective criticism but this is just false. Same with the accurate location which is a 100% true and was checked by airbnb when I registered the liaising 6 months ago. It is really upsetting how less airbnb supports hosts. I told them that after my next guests who are staying in the appartement right now leave, I will send them pictures of the bed and detailed pictures of the location.
I did not text the guests yet regarding the bad review. I was always staying super friendly but gave them a medium review stating that they where better suited at a hotel as the whole communication was very slow, not friendly and responsive and just off from the beginning.
What can I do? I’m scared that especially the review with the bed now jeopardises hosting more then 2 people. Please help!

Please help me if you can ❤️ Here is what i can remember meber (its not much) - top down roguelite, light and cartoony in style, had couch coop -there were sword weapons and magic -there were towns with a blacksmith to upgrade current weapons and a piggybank to store money - i think the final boss was the kings son (i could be wrong on this one) - you regained health when you drank from a water fountain, it also reset the area - the areas i can remember were a grassy one with bugs, a snowy area, a lava-ish area - i think the objectice was to gather stones or crystals to unlock a portal to where the king was

I’m coming up on the one year anniversary of my divorce. Short overview: 17 year marriage, 3 kids, supported her through grad school, moved to this area for her career 10 years ago. Last year, she meets her “soulmate” - a 24 year old guy, and blows up our family for it while blaming me, married him 2 weeks later (her 3rd marriage and the 2nd time she’s monkey branched husbands)
I’m honestly over her. The peace and quiet I have from not being with a demanding person with some undiagnosed cluster b disorder is awesome. I realize all the lovebombing and isolation, emotional abuse for what it was.
But I’m having a hard time getting over moving here for her career. I honestly hate this region and feel like I’m wasting good years not living where I want. If it weren’t for the kids, I would have already packed up and moved. Everything is a reminder of that dumbass decision. Part of me says to wait until my youngest finishes high school, but that’ll be another decade and I’ll be in my mid 50’s.
This one lingering issue won’t go away. I’ve thought about just pretending she never happened (we rarely talk and send short messages about the kids…unless she’s sends a wall of text about her husband because that’s normal) but that doesn’t seem mentally healthy. Maybe I could convince myself I’m here because of the job market or something.
