Apologizes for the long post, some important details to explain in the beginning to help better set the stage to explain things.. So my fiancé and I got engaged back in 2021 after dating for 10 years, being high school sweethearts & moving down south together to start a new life together where it’s more affordable. We originally set our date to fall of 2023 back in spring of 2022.. proposed to our bridesmaids and groomsmen, mailed out save the dates, etc. In early spring of 2023, my fiancé ended up getting hurt at work which required surgery on his shoulder.. with the timing of everything this would mean he’d still be in a sling at the wedding.. we made the hard decision to postpone our big day to next fall of 2024 so we could both properly enjoy our big day and sent out new save the dates immediately. (This gave all our guests little over a years notice of the switch)
Jumping to the whole point of this now, December 2023 comes around and my best friend of 18 years gets engaged to her now fiancé whom she started dating right after I moved & barely know aside from the stories she tells me yet I’m OVER the moon for her ! (How exciting I am to have someone to go thru this wedding stuff with who can related !?) She is so excited and starts planning immediately & they tour venues the following week. They toured 2 venues & instantly loved 1 of them and immediately put down a deposit. She tells me right after and sends me pics & it’s this gorgeous venue that is also right on the wateocean. I am so shocked they lucked out so fast and ask when’s the wedding ?! She told me the date LITERALLY 3 weeks before my wedding…
At this point I’m speechless.. I immediately while in a state of shock congratulate her.. I’m so happy for you...
I told this to my fiancé who’s known my BFF just as long as me as we all grew up & went to the same school & he was FURIOUS & hurt.. he said it was selfish & that she basically f’d me over by getting married literally 1 month prior to us. He now wants nothing to do with her and refuses to speak to her again or attend their wedding period due to the disrespect of it all. I’m not a confrontational person & was so hurt by all this.. but knew I had to address it with her.. (FYI she’s an only child if it means anything & we were so close my parents call her their daughter & I refer to her as my sister… she also told me I’d be her maid of honor whenever she’d get married bc of how close we are.. she was at least smart enough to not throw that on my plate thankfully.. however not to sound arrogant but if our dates weren’t on top of each other I’m POSITIVE she would’ve asked me)
Shel went into “defense” mode and instantly began stating why they chose the date..
1) her fiancés little brother is getting married in 2025 & so he refuses to get married the same year as it’s “not fair to steal his spotlight” if I remember correctly
2) it’s their dream venue
3) the only available dates left for 2024 was that last week of summer or November 2024.. she stated that bc her venue is on the water, she couldn’t do November bc of her elderly grandmother and how she could get sick (which is understandable)
4) they want to start having kids like now so they are in a rush to get married asap
Now this left me in such a weird feeling of confusion, hurt & sadness.. she already agreed to be my bridesmaid 2 yrs ago, our other mutual best friend who is a single mom as her child’s father passed was now asked to also be her bridesmaid too.. we have a TON of mutual friends & guests & with me moving down south 5 yrs ago & having the wedding down here.. my wedding is kinda considered a “destination” wedding as majority of our guests are traveling to our state.
She then tried to smooth it over by saying how she never meant to make me feel that way & then blamed her fiancé bc HE wanted that date & “didn’t give her any other option”… By her blaming it also makes me want to believe her bc he has always been very controlling of her.. constantly makes comments about her weight & says she’s getting fat, calls her 3x a day to see if she went to the gym, gets mad if she ever plays Xbox w me once in a blue moon bc that makes her “lazy” (mind you she’s an LPN and works 12 hour shifts smtns and is ALWAYS on her feet, she never wants to do nothing period- she has gastro issues that cause bloating & HE KNOWS THIS). He always tells her she’s not allowed to cut her hair prior to the wedding bc HE wants it long.. and it’s not like he asks or says it nicely either.. (bottom line, me and the rest of her bridesmaids strongly dislike him for all this and several other reasons which we’ve told her for years but are trying to be supportive bc in the end it’s her life/decisions )
Fast forward a little more, right after I tell her this & she gives me that story.. I tell her I need some time to heal, get over it, etc.. but that I love her bc she’s like a sister to me and I can’t imagine missing her big day or not being apart of it…
About a week or 2 after this, her MOH starts a chat and surprisingly has her bridal shower & Bach dates picked out already.. leaving me with not many options of when to do mine as mine will also be up North since none of my family is down south.. this makes my fiancé even more mad bc now he’s saying how I have to plan around her & this adds to why he was initially pissed bc it takes my spotlight away that I’ve patiently waited for.. so her Bach is May 2024 & shower is June 2024.. wedding last day of August 2024.. I decline her bach bc I can’t afford/take more time off work to travel.. and said I’d aim for shower if I can and yes to her wedding..
my Bach & Shower are now in July 2024.. back for back weekends so I’m up there for a week and a half for both.. (I had no idea how else to make it work at this point so just decided to do it all together.. )
She just had her Bach this past weekend and apparently she fought and said mean things to ALL of her bridesmaids and they are all pissed at her and 1 even dropped out of her wedding all together because of it.. our mutual BFF went and called me in tears when she got home bc of how selfish she was acting apparently & basically told them all that “this weekend was all about her and it’s not like any of them are getting married anytime soon or have anything excited going on in their lives so they need to get their shit together” (this was the 1st night on a Friday after everyone worked an 8+ hour day then drove 4-5 hours to the Airbnb). They dropped so much $ on this trip for her and she got into a verbal altercation with each of the 7 of them about how they weren’t doing enough to “party” and have fun with her the moment they got there.. this same argument continues the next day/night apparently to the point NOBODY wanted to be near her as they felt they’d be her next target. Come morning, everyone packed their stuff & ran home upset that the whole weekend they planned was nothing but arguments and ruined..
After hearing this & the comments she made, it really sent my thoughts racing.. how can she be so selfish to these girls whom I watched and helped from afar plan this whole trip for her? I’ve only been “gone” for 5 yrs and visited at least 1-2x a year since & constantly kept in touch everyday but I don’t recognize this person who’s supposed to be my BFF anymore..
To sum up this whole thing now.. I’m torn.. should I have ever bothered letting my initial hurt of the whole month before our wedding situation go in the first place when I forgave her? My Father, FIL & SIL are just as pissed as my fiancé is and don’t understand how I could just be okay with it all but commended me on being the bigger person to save my 18+ yr friendship bc they couldn’t.. Should I just back out of shower too and or her wedding entirely to save myself the extra stress ? I also have my Bach & Shower in July & her still one of my bridesmaids on top of all this to which some of my other bridesmaids are also mad at her for the situation & also agree w my fiancé who messed up it is… 🤦🏻‍♀️ SOS & please be kind to me if you can.. I'm a first time buyer and while I'm not in a rush to buy or desperately searching for a peorpety, I happened to see something really good recently which was affordable, in an ideal location, and had the potential to be a family house long-term.
So I told the estate agents on Sunday that I am interested din putting and offer in and they said they would contact me with questions (such as the price I was willing to pay) etc the next day.
So my question is...how much do they rush the process? Because before they were even able to ring me and ask what it is that I am able to offer or even if my offer would be competitive enough to be in the running, they'd told conveyancers to ring me and discuss legal fees and solicitors. The lady rang me yesterday briefly explaining why its good to have a solicitor at hand and asked for a £25 deposit to secure a solicitor and make sure fees are fixed in the period that I potentially go through for buying the property. I told her that I'd like to speak to he estate agents first and if she could ring me back today- she rang me at 9am on the dot, took my deposit, and said she'll send over documents I need to sign and return.
And I don't know, I just feel suspicious and like I'm being pushed into paying and signing for all these things with very little explanation and time to process what it happening and what I'm getting out of it. I haven't even decided if I did compete with the offers and what to buy for sure hut feel like they're taking advantage of me because I'm a first time buyer.
In the past, an estate agent kept pushing me to speak to their mortgage advisor and I'm not even kidding, I had to shake her off like 6 time in one call and I had to be borderline rude to get her to understand that I know what I'm doing, have spoken to other advisors, and don't need to speak to anyone frlm their team. So I just feel like they're so pushy that I'm not sure if I can trust them and should just go along with everything, or if I should bide my time and let myself think? I’m 19 living in the Northern Territory, and have been saving for a house since I was 16 now by the end of the year I will have roughly 100k for a house deposit, luckily the median house price is a lot lower than other states. Been diagnosed with type 2 since I was 14. Changed my diet Completely, exercise consistently, etc but my A1C never gets out of pre diabetic range. I'm also on metformin that I take twice a day. when I was first diagnosed I started to count my calories constantly too. visualizing a scale of what was making my levels higher and what might kill me (dramatic I know but I was 14 lol). I ended up losing a ton of weight because I was over regulating my eating.

Been living in a boarding house with 4 bedrooms, which one of it is occupied by my landlord. It is a very old filipino house without aircon, so it’s very hot during the day especially in feb-may. Only my landlord have an install aircon in his room
So the red flag begins, when I leave the room. To go to my school. And place my stuff at my desk and my bed. Then when I came back to my room. All of my stuff where shoved into my closet and he seemed to clean the place. It was a bit embarrassing for my part because my closet have my underwear hanging in my closet. That where he puts my books, notebook, etc.
At first I thought this was a common thing in boarding house but my roommate suggests that her previous boarding house would not touch her stuff, although she would get in and check for the outlet but NEVER touch her stuff. And this was weird for her,
a few months passed she decided to leave the boarding house because she felt that there were no privacy, because the landlord would just bust inside our room, without knocking. And sometimes almost caught us undressing, when he wanted to say something to us.
When my roommate ask for the deposit, the landlord refused because it needed to be consume, when we didn’t even know that before signing in. There were no verbal or contract agreements on what to do with the deposit. Then he proceeded to ask my roommate to stay a little longer or like “bakit ganito kana?, hindi ka ganito noon ha”. They started screaming to each other until my roommate have enough, and just leave without taking her deposit.
The second red flag for me, is that I get so many blames in the house. Like he would say “dapat hindi pinapasok ang pusa sa bahay” then I said that it wasn’t me then he proceeded to say “kapag makita mo ang pusa sa loob ng bahay, palabasin mo”. I just noded and leave cuz I’m almost late to my class. He would sometimes scolded me for the wrong things, like my laundry is submerged too long, or my clothes are hanging too long. He would make a fuss about our trash, that we have too much.
I’m feeling suffocated here, sometimes I would choose a time to get out of the house and get in when he is not around. Cuz every time we met, he always have something to say. Maybe I am overreacting or overthinking, is this normal in boarding house?

Yesterday was her birthday, and I struggled to gather part of her family to throw her a party at home. I cooked a cake and did some other preparations. It was my first time, and I'm not too good at cooking, so I joked and said that the cake probably wouldn't taste too good. After serving it, well, it wasn't bad, but some of her family members laughed and said, "Who prefers biscuits?" She raised her hand, left the cake, and broke my heart.

I'm a little devastated because I don't think she can meet my need for reassurance. I think she used to do it, but this time I didn't feel that way, and I don't know what to do because yesterday I felt like I was talking to a wall.

So Im a fairly new landlord (35M) got a good deal on a property with 4 units on after moving into a tent for four months to help save for it. Now we been here about three years the tenants I inherited from the sale where great but they sadly passed away on a car crash. First they keep on wanting to change the Depost agreement we altered out agreement twice and then still they came and told us they will pay the last of the Deposit when the have the money as it is their money anyway and does not affect us. I and. my care taker ended up digging up and unblocking it but low be hold TAMPONS came out. So some one had been flushing and it cause the block.. Hello everyone. I am planning to lease a r1s and then want to buy it to make use of the 7500$ EV tax credits. I am planning to pay just the $1000 mandated deposit to proceed with the lease. [got this info from the threads below, thank you].
I am leasing a vehcile for the first time ever. These are my questions

1. How do i see the residual value and MF? Is it only available to me after i book a vehicle?
2. I saw an old post which mentioned that the RV is same or almost same for 24 months and 36 months. Is that true? If so, considering my situation that i want to buy this vehicle, wouldn't it be better option for me to go for the 24 months lease?
3. I don't really want to a quad motor vehicle. But surprisingly i am seeing those with the lowest leases. Can someone help me understand why?

A week ago I tried to deposit a check through the mobile check deposit, but was rejected. I read the rejection email and it only gave me vague reasons on why it would be rejected. I noticed that one of the reasons could be because it's not made to the name I refer to as. Would it be due to the fact that the check was made to a different name? It's still my name, but it was made to the first name thats written on my SSN/drivers license, but my whole life, I have been going by what's written as my "middle" name for everything else. Please, I'd appreciate any insights on this matter.

Based on your experiences and wisdom internet strangers, how should I approach this because I have feelings for her? Should I tell her, or back off?
TL;DR is that I think I might be getting hints and clues that this girl I know may have feelings for me, but graduation is in a few weeks, and the parting of ways is inevitable.
There is this girl who I have recently, in the past year and a half or so, gotten to know well. I live in a town across the valley from hers, and we are both 18, being seniors in separate high schools. We have been texting each other for what almost felt like daily or multiple times a week well since the beginning of the summer before our senior year, and have not lost any momentum. I don’t always initiate conversation, as she likes to spark conversations through texting, whether it’s the most recent adventure, anecdote, or cake she baked, I’m not talking to a wall. We also talk in person whenever we can. When we see each other at weekly church meetings, she always tries to sit next to me, or does so when she can, and since I tried out track this year, each meet our schools are both at, we both without asking each other, watch each others events and cheer each other on, and we talk just about anything and everything. I think her parents and family like me pretty well, and I have a good relationship with them, and my family adores her. The problem is where I think I stand with her.
That problem is exemplified by the fact that our graduations our quickly creeping up on us, and we’re going to be parting ways as I’m moving to a bordering state in the middle of the summer, and not too long after will be serving a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all the way down in Mexico in late August. However, I’d be surprised to be “Dear John’d” as she is also going to serve a mission for our church before going to university, and is waiting to have her finished papers submitted. The timing would be perfect, as by the time she gets done with her mission, I’d be back home from mine oddly enough. We are also thinking about different universities which we both got accepted to, for me, USU and BYU Provo, for her BYU-I. The nice thing about the mission is that it’s like a 2 year gap-year, so if anything were to happen and be set into motion, we could try to go to the same school after. But I’m wondering if the fact that we are thinking about different schools and that I’m moving will make her fret if she does feel anything for me.
Some final preface is that we’ve been to homecoming together our junior year and that’s when our relationship kind of started. I also asked her to my senior prom in a fun, personal way for her, and she wasn’t weird about it, and was genuinely excited for it, saying yes, and that she was suspecting that I would ask her. We had a great time together and with the group we were with. When we took pictures with everyone, the photographer who was a mom asked our group to walk towards her for some cool shots, and for the couples to hold hands while doing so. Me being unsure and shy, didn’t grab her hand, but she sure grabbed mine and totally locked fingers with me (Mormon first base lol). At the dance, we slow danced to every song we could, when she wanted to, and I tried my best to match her energy the whole time (as a person who can’t dance, and is kind of introverted in stark comparison to her extroverted extreme nature). I later learned from my mom from her mom that she noticed and made mention of that, how I matched her energy intentionally. Afterwards, when it was time to go home and drop her off, I walked her to the door and she gave me what I can only describe in my mind as an intimate hug, which has happened between us before as well.
I’m leaning on the edge of her liking me back (rare glass half full view for me personally) because of a bunch of specific instances that blur the line of friendship between us, making it feel like we are more than just friends, and I’ll share a few key ones: (Sorry for making it look like a police report, that’s just the way my mind operates)
Exhibit A: On prom, I told her about the fact that I was moving in the middle of the summer because I needed to tell her in person, and it needed to come from me (weird time to tell someone that), but if I didn’t, she would’ve found out otherwise through town and church gossip. I was met with an immediate sad response, but that was quickly washed away and we had fun at the dance. What’s interesting is what she texted me after the fact: “What if we never see each other again…Sorry this is just crazy I'm going crazy I hate change and not sleeping so guna go to bed before this becomes a what if I die moments.”
Exhibit B: There are instances where I think she is trying to flirt with me, one of them being a response to me saying that I’m going to be somewhere where she thinks she’s going. The response in question was “I’m going now for sure [winky emoji, laughing emoji]”
Exhibit C: I have received 3 hugs from her that have stuck with me, and we’re all pretty intimate. Once after I gave her a meaningful gift after one of her favorite livestock she was taking care of died, which was pure luck and chance as I got a hat for her with a gag signature from my uncle called “the pig whisperer” which I was planning to give to her not as a cheering up gift, because I didn’t know her animal died. And once after I got my mission call, and once after dropping her off back at her house after Prom as mentioned before.
I don’t want to ruin our relationship because I value her a lot as a friend, but I think I’m seeing something more, and I don’t want to regret not doing anything.
