Oem gsxr 2008 sticker
Looking for all advice and upgrades you would do to a '09 Suzuki SFV Gladius to change the look, feel, and performance?

I am a joy rider and commuter but would like to be more agreessive this time around. Live in St. Louis. Bike is at a local shop and owner is having me bring/buy the parts, mods and upgrades I am looking for.
He will start on bike in a couple weeks.
What I have so far:
2 different Tail Tidy (Evotech/R&G). Various Renthal Handle bar (black/gold). New Forks (gold). ASV Levers (clutch/brake - shorty - black). OEM suzuki clutch plate kit. OEM suzuki Full Lockset (ignition, tank, seat). EBC HH Brake Pads (Front/Rear). Wiring Harness (we are going to pull the old that thieves completely changed)
So looking for any mechnical and parts/tech/pieces that I should consider buying this week:
Suspension/Shocks: If there is one upgrade I read in all these forums, is a shock replacment. I mentioned it to him but he said that it would be too expensive (as I feel he was thinking of a new shock replacement). I know everyone does the gsxr or zx swap, and though there are so many on ebay, I dont know how to choose. If anyone sees a specifc shock (rear or front) that they feel I should purchase that would be great. As I see the new shocks most people are putting on their gladius is between 1k and 2k. And I am just not in situation to do that to this specific bike.
Any other thoughts around: Mirrors. Turn signals - (thinking Rizoma Club). Seat. Tech. Helmet. Tires. Pegs. Slide bars. Headlight. Anything really that
Frame covers and Fairings Anyone that has repainted their frame covers and fairings I would love to connect. I bought all new pieces that were scratched or damaged, but I can't justify keeping and replacing all. So the goal (when I actually get the bike back) is to fill, sand, and repaint. And this time I am wanting to go from the original blue/white color scheme to something darker. Either black with some subtly gold accents or something else.
In a nutshell, bike was stolen, damaged, and found by police months later. Finally after a long stint, a local shop is going to work on it this month. He has been great in allowing me to supply the parts, mods or upgrades I need/want done. My goal is to get a bike back thay maybe looks, feels and rides significantly better without buying a new bike. This is the only bike I have ever owned, so I am excited to finally get it back and on the road. If anyone has any mods/upgrades/changes that either I should really consider the mechanic doing this would be the time. So I'm all ears. But I also want to do other mods and improvements that maybe make the most sense for me to do after I get the bike back. His labor rate is $100 and is an incredibly humble and great guy. And has a great reputation.
So the more mechnical or things he should really be doing, I want to have for him. He will focus first on the clutch kit, wiring harness, change out the full lock set, new handlebar, new forks, new levers.
And anything after that or outside of that (that I can learn or take on) that would be great.

2024.05.13 22:13 devin2378 Flushed my hot water heater for the first time ever. Before flushing, water was clear. After flushing, water is now yellow. Will it eventually go back to normal or is it shot?
First time home owner, lived in house for 5 months
I had to make a minor fix to the drain spigot at the bottom of the hot water heater, so in order to do it safely I drained it before working on it.
It flushed out and refilled fine.
However, now all the hot water in my house has a pretty distinct yellow tint.
I’m currently running the water out through my basement wash basin, in hopes to drain it out and get it back to clear. Should I keep going, or is this a hopeless endeavor and I somehow shot my water heater on accident?
Tank was installed in 2008, based on the sticker at the bottom.

I’m trying to buy an oem upstream 02 sensor and not only is it extremely unclear from my research what OEM is for the HR, but Z1 and other company’s sell a variety of “OEM” sensors for the same model HR that are clearly different. Does it take the same one as the 09-11 370s? I’ll post the pictures and hopefully someone can tell me which one they got that works. For reference, I’m pretty sure when I did this last the oem one looked like link 2 with the conical tip, and even though it doesn’t mention the 350 year it says 2008+ in description which I found odd because the other one (link#1) is listed specifically for 2007 which is the same thing and I don’t think it’s the right one. Thanks in advance! I also found the m35 has the HR and it takes link2 sensor as well. Just need confirmation!

I have a pair of factory 2008 Audi A4 rims. The car was scrapped while it had its winter tires and rims. I know oem rims aren’t cheap and would like to sell them as they don’t seem easily compatible with the new Gen a4. How do I best provide specs and detail to support an online sale. Just Use tire spec ? P235/45R17 (per old invoice) Or just make and model ? (was hoping to avoid this to curb people asking if it would fit their newer car). Thanks in advance. No rubber. Just rims.

Have a 2008 3.0tdi A5 which I love but wanted to do a few minor bits to it i.e. change the colour (would wrap it myself), different OEM wheels and potentially a set of coilovers (handling can be a bit boat-like) or updated OEM suspension components. For info I'm 26 with full no claims and no points. If anyone has gone through this with their insurer let me know! Have tried to contact them about it but they are incredibly vague about whats permitted and what extra costs can be incurred, cheers!

First Seiko Mod and a bit of an unusual one, so I'm afraid I haven't been able to work out if there is some fatal flaw in my plans from the spreadsheets etc.
I would massively appreciate if some experienced modders could tell me whether there are any incompatibilities with the following. As the SPB317 is too big for my wrists, I would be very unhappy to not be able to return it due to it being disassembled. I will also get an independent watchmaker to do the work.
I intend to use the movement, dial, and hands from a Seiko SPB317 slim turtle in a build based around Namokimods' SKX013 mini turtle case.

Long story short, I have been an owner of a BMW M140i for the past year (having come from a FL Hyundai i30N Hatch), and have absolutely loved it. Have tastefully modified it to be OEM + and look forward to driving it everyday.
Having said this, I am considering selling my beloved, and getting into a JDM imported 2008 Lexus ISF (of which I’ve wanted even prior to the M140i, but were too expensive). My primary concern is just how well taken care of these imports are (rust / service history).
Many things are drawing me to an ISF, primarily that of it being an incredibly reliable RWD V8. I do also owe a small amount of money on the BMW and am looking to increase my borrowing power when applying for a home loan (while also spending $15k LESS on the Lexus).
Someone tell me whether I’m doing the right thing or not, and please don’t provide me with the AusFinance answer of buying a Camry, as life would be dull without a fun car.

I was actually looking for any TV series' DVD sets, no joke, I have my PS3 currently set up to my CRT with s-video, and I recently got the first season of Survivor DVD set (Borneo), and I'm amazed at how well it looks on a CRT all these years later, compared to streaming those old seasons on Paramount+, so I am on the lookout for seasons 2 and 3, as well as any Trailer Park Boys DVDs. Anyway, I was hoping, if I came across ANYTHING video game related, that it might be a Colecovision, I've been wanting one of those so badly for such a long time (and, maybe about 12 years ago, I found an Atari 2600 at a different, nearby thrift store), but instead, all I came across, was this! I did already, still have my childhood console, so when I decided to go for this, I figured, worst case scenario, console can be a backup for spare parts. Then I got home, and I started taking the pictures - I always take pics of things I'll buy or receive in the mail, always to be able to remember and cherrish the moments - and the deeper I got with opening and cleaning the console, I ended up deciding, this will be my "tinker with / modify" console; things like the Ultra 64 logo / tag for the front, RGB mod to the board, etc., all the things I liked the idea of, but I was so sentimental over my childhood console, I wanted to leave it alone and keep it all stock. It took a bit of gentle force to get any game working on it, I must have cleaned that Star Wars Racer game with q-tips and 91% isopropyl (the strongest stuff I have on hand) about 4 or 5 times, then it's like I had to gently but a bit forcefully shove the cartridge into the slot, and it finally worked! I was actually hoping that the two games I could not see through the bag were better titles that I don't already have (like Indiana Jones or Legacy Of Darkness, and yes I know, wishful thinking), but, I am glad to add the hockey game and the Star Wars Racer one both to my collection; Madden 99, I could use as a "shell swap" kind of thing, like say I get any japanese games and I haven't replaced the cartridge slot with a region free one yet, and I would want to test the game out beforehand, etc. I just can't believe that thrift stores CAN and WILL still get things like this in, and put them out for sale for decent deals. I don't even care that it did not come with a controller, I have a Brawler 64 controller, and I still have some OEM ones from my childhood somewhere, I was figuring I will order one or two of those 8bitdo mod kits for those and fix them up later. Also getting a second expansion pak was a nice surprise. Before I checked it, I figured either there would be a stock jumper pak, or nothing / an empty slot. It's also funny, that sticker that says "needs a new av cable", everything works that came with this today! |
