2024.05.14 09:53 gavinfrag03 ET Max 100 Mile Review

ET Max 100 Mile Review
So, new wheel without many consumer reviews on YouTube or anywhere else. Haven’t seen any written on here yet so here goes!
I’ll start by saying that I am in no way a Begode fanboy; I actually prefer Veteran wheels :D
The reason I bought another euc after owning a Patton at the end of last summer is because I sold it for a motorcycle. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junky, so I feel like that’s a pretty substantial progression. I recently got in an accident, though. My bike was already an R title, so even with small issues like cracks in the fairings, my insurance company called it a total loss. I got more money back than I bought it for, but I wanted to save up a little more over the summer to get a nicer one eventually. I didn’t wanna stay inside while waiting, so an euc was my saving grace.
I got my ET on Friday, May 10th. Crazy story actually; I was actually looking to buy the EX30 as I couldn’t really afford any of this year’s offerings (GT Pro, Lynx, ET). Alien Rides had it on sale for $2700 opposed to $3600 on my usual website, EWheels. I buy the EX30 and instantly get an email stating that they were actually sold out of the EX, but they could offer me a used floor model EX for less, or a refund. I knew I wanted to sell the wheel at the end of the summer to get a new bike after saving a bit, so I didn’t want any extra miles. I declined and asked for the refund, but then I struck gold.
Alien Rides must really care about customer loyalty, because they offered me an ET max for the SAME PRICE as the EX30 on sale. $2,700, no more no less. I asked for the Lynx, but they said they didn’t order as many of those so they couldn’t offer the same deal. Honestly, I’m kinda happy because the ET is supposedly much more stable at high speeds, can go faster, and omfg the design language is GORGEOUS. I probably have the “cheapest” ET Max in the world (lol). I wasn’t going to pick this option if there were any early batch issues, but both eWheels and Alien Rides said that none of the ET’s they’ve sold have had a single issue.
As soon as I tried lifting the box inside from the porch, I realized that this thing was substantial. This was much harder than lifting the Patton box, and I didn’t know if I could handle it (I’m 6’ 160lbs btw, so pretty skinny).
After doing a check on tire psi (IMPORTANT as Begode tends to overinflate), playing with linkage settings, and applying the surprisingly good Velcro (either Alien Rides replaced the shitty Begode Velcro or this batch had better included Velcro), I took the wheel out for its first spin. It had been about 4 or 5 months since I’ve been on a wheel, but I acclimated to the ET unbelievably quickly. I told myself I wasn’t going to ride on main roads but I was already pushing mid 40’s in traffic 10 minutes in. It’s THAT easy to feel comfortable on this wheel.
Maybe my legs were tired on day two, but I was doing similar speeds and got insanely bad wobbles. Like, my feet would’ve come off the pedals if it weren’t for the great spiked pedals (I don’t really see the need to upgrade personally). Luckily I’ve been able to save every single wobble I’ve gotten after I learned the invisible chair braking technique. No bad wobbles after this; totally could’ve been user error.
I am now on day 4 with over 100 miles on the odometer, and I’ve only had to charge it twice. Riding with hard acceleration at fast speeds got me 37.7 miles with 30% battery left. It’s noticeably better than my Patton, at least it feels like it. I’m sure that once I’m comfortable pushing this wheel to its full potential, that number will only go down with my super hilly terrain. Also keep in mind that voltage climbed back up to that 30% after resting, and it was more like 20% at the end of my ride giving me beeps at around 35-40mph.
I only have a single issue and one minor gripe so far:
  • With medium hardness and zero pre-set horizontal tilt, the pedals like to tilt up a bit at both high speeds and sudden up’s and down’s. This isn’t noticeable to me with full pedal hardness and -1 tilt though. Could be fixed with a firmware update, so I’m not bothered.
  • More of a gripe, but the suspension makes clunking noises. I only mind because my Patton’s FastAce suspension was super quiet and smooth, but this suspension is still adequate after being spoiled like that. I’m 160 and the 1300lb spring is pretty alright if you nearly fully unscrew the spring tensioning ring. I’ve been told that the psi of the air chamber doesn’t matter too much and is only mandatory for the functionality of compression and dampening. Recommended psi is 50-100.
Other than those pretty insignificant cons, this wheel is a BEAST. I thought I was pushing it up hills, but when I started checking the PWM on DarknessBot I realized that I could push it so much harder. I was doing an absolute disservice to this thing, but now that I’ve gotten out and really given it a thrash, I gotta say that it’s unbelievable. You have enough high-speed power to pass cars in 45+mph traffic, and blast up hills without a single issue. Hell, even the stock pads feel great. They aren’t the best for locking your foot in, but they get the job done seeing as this wheel isn’t really meant for offroad use. It’s enough to hop curbs and hold you in if you’re accelerating so hard that you’re on your tip-toes.
By far, this is the best option on the market if you ever sell, crash (in my case), or can’t afford a motorcycle and still want that feeling of insane adrenaline. The acceleration, cornering, braking, and feeling of substantial-ness between your feet is unreal. I 100000000% recommend to just go for it. No need to wait for later batches; get it.
Please ask anything at all in the comments!
Edit: THE HEADLIGHT ADJUSTS????

2024.05.14 02:26 SubtleMonkey4049 Should I be patient and wait for a promotion?

I’m a Financial Analyst (27M) who is coming up on 3 years with my company. I had my annual review, which increased my TC from $82,550 ($75k base + 10% bonus) to $96,134 ($80k + 20%). This is up 34.5% from my starting TC of $71,500.
I was hoping for $85k base but didn’t even consider the possibility of an increased bonuses, at least not until promoted to an Associate. Not sure how I feel about the new TC since on one hand I rather have a higher base, but on the other hand it’s marginally better (+3k).
I find myself in a predicament with the main factors being pay and career growth. $80k base doesn’t go too far on the west coast, but I have a decent record of annual increases. I got merit increases of 7.69%, 7.14%, and now 16.36% for an average TC increase of 10.40% YOY or average Base increase 7.17% YOY. I believe these are strong and consistent increases that I am not sure I’ll find elsewhere.
I’ve done the market research and for my role / experience and I think I am paid fairly. Not good, not bad, but just fair. I mention this because I don’t think I have leverage in this regard. The good news is that I know Associates make around $120k-$150k base. However, there is not a clear path to an Associate, given how small our firm is. I have found that most Associates have been here for no less than 5yrs and that’s about the best benchmark I currently have. Assuming a promotion to Associate is around the 5yr mark, that’s a little over 2 years away, which scares me because by then I’ll be pushing 30 years old. I don’t want to be a 40yr old Excel junkie with no hope for a management role.
I’m sorry for the long read, but I feel like this is all important context for a pivotal decision. I’d only switch jobs for +$100k. But I would need +20% increases every year (small likelihood) to match what I theoretically could make if I just stayed for an Associate.
Am I being impatient? If so, do I just shut up and ride out a few more years to hopefully be promoted to an Associate? Do I get some job offers and ask my current company to match? What’s the best course of action to increase my income?
My current plan is below, but please advise otherwise.
  1. Talk with boss and see what the next 2-3yrs look like. Don’t give away my position or leverage, but find the likelihood of being promoted to an Associate.
  2. If the talk does NOT go well, ask how I can improve and do that for 3 months. Then start getting job offers and see if they’ll match.
  3. If they do NOT match, ride out for 3 more months, collect my bonus, and dip.
Less important information, but worth considering:
I really like my company. My boss and my boss’ boss are down to earth and are super accommodating with PTO, personal issues, and general work-life balance. There’s no micromanaging or company software that tracks your every move. Work life balance is pretty unbeatable, and I have a lot of free time even after taking on “additional” tasks (I used quotes because I can do much more, but they don’t necessarily have a business need for much more). We have full benefits and the company pays for our own ESPP-equivalent; it doesn’t come out of our paychecks, but there is a 5yr min hold.
I often feel like this is a great place to work when you’re NOT young. What I mean by that is building and growing your career elsewhere and then coming here when you want to settle down with a mortgage, kids, or whatever. Coming in a higher level definitely has its benefits (VP+ make min $300k) and there’s a lot of older employees that are probably going to retire here, which somewhat validates this hypothesis.

2024.05.12 21:52 RikStarX Medication Review Tomorrow.

Hi all, So after a few visits with the physio she brought up what medication I have and how long have I been using it. I told her That I take Co-Codamol 30mg and I was honest and said Its doing very little but I'm kinda scared to ask mention it as the views some doctors have isn't always open minded. She's agreed which was nice and said what I'm on isn't suitable for my case, it's low strength for occasional pain. She was shocked I've been on it 2 years with no mention on my record of a GP reviewing it. Now here's why I'm worried, after my recent MRI, blood tests ect information isn't being passed on and I almost have to explain everything to each doctor I see, the person reviewing my scan results didn't even know what specifically they were looking for 🤦🏼 so I got "looks normal". So when I go in tomorrow morning and if the GP hasn't looked into my file much I don't want them to think I'm a junkie seeking strong meds. I'm trying to think of ways I can structure an approach without giving off the wrong impression. Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you.

2024.05.11 15:44 Correct-Maximum-938 2024 eCells 5Star 1st impressions

2024 eCells 5Star 1st impressions
Hey folks! I have had a few people asking about the bike and wanted my initial impressions...
The bike is a great value especially after using promo code FCE100
I sold my 2023 Juiced RCS for a 5-Star. It's not in the same league.....Seriously, it's like going from a Go Cart to a Stock Car It’s almost to fast, and CRAZY torque quiet, handles surpisingly well and smooth thanks to those dual crown forks.
Quick thoughts: - Super comfy ride with the RockShox. It’s like gliding. - Insane power. It’ll pop the front wheel up if you’re not careful, and, it can keep pace with a Suron. - The build quality is rock solid. Came perfectly assembled, tight and ready to ride. Had to fine-tune the brakes a bit, but that was it, headlight is awesome 😎💡
Other stuff: - Keeps up in traffic no problem and still feels like a regular bike when you pedal. - Might get a second battery because I’m using this a lot on full throttle.
I bought the bike because the company was established and had positive feedback on previous models.
Support has been pretty solid....
Small things like they called me to make sure the bike I ordered would fit based on my inseam.
I needed a replacement part and they got it out within two days
The CEO is founder level passionate about the bikes, his company...and at the current scale makes himself available to his customers
Above all else the MOST important thing to deal with a person/company that stands by his/its word.
Thus far eCells has been pretty solid in this respect.
I will spend extra for that and sell at a loss when a company doesn't.
Just sharing in case anyone’s looking into getting one. This bike is legit, worth checking out if you want something sturdy and fun.
I upgraded to 4 piston brakes and swapped the handlebars, I will add a suspension seat post
The 5STARs on the side are awesome!
I'm not a pro reviewer but I am an e-bike Junkie, I currently have a conversion using a grin conversion kit recently bought my wife a bike. And have four other bikes currently for sale that are flips bikes I bought off of Facebook Market group and refreshed. Again I'm not a professional reviewer but I would consider myself to be bike enthusiast

2024.05.10 23:55 meiggs Is Kashkick Legit Or A Scam? (My Honest Review!)

Hey guys! I recently tried out KashKick, a "get-paid-to" platform where you earn points for tasks like surveys and watching videos. These points can be cashed in for money or gift cards. I'm here to share my genuine take to help you figure out if KashKick is worth your time.
Is KashKick Legit? From my experience, yes!
I've earned and redeemed points smoothly, mostly opting for gift cards. It's a faster payout then Swagbucks and Survey Junkie... but here are some things to keep in mind:
Earning Potential: It’s modest. You won’t get rich (duh) but it's a decent way to make some extra cash or snag gift cards. I earned about $103ish in about a month.
Task Availability: This varies by location and demographic. For me, I got some solid offers that helped me make over $100... but generally, there's enough to keep you engaged.
Payment: They offer PayPal after reaching $10... quick payment.
User Experience: The site is straightforward and easy to navigate. You can also earn extra by referring friends through their referral program here.
Overall, while KashKick won’t make you wealthy, it’s a reliable way to earn a bit on the side. Just start with small tasks and scale up as you get more comfortable. Always check out the terms and user reviews to know what you’re getting into.
Got questions or want to share your own KashKick experiences? Drop a comment below. Happy earning!

2024.05.07 18:54 MrFenroh The Sphere: Postcard From Earth Opinion

So I just went to Vegas for my first time ever for a bachelor party, and the sphere was on our itinerary. I am going to jump right to it. I have seen so many bad reviews involving: distraction from nature, overwhelming, poor visuals?, poor sound?, bad staff, etc. I can assure you, this is one of the most bad ass experiences I’ve ever seen in my life. I am a nature junky myself, and I also do at times get overwhelmed by things myself. But holy fuck. This show was life changing. Like it’s actually scary. When I tell you this is the next level of technology, it’s not even easy to describe. How crispy the visuals were at the point it’s a bit hard to comprehend, the sound literally at every corner (haha) of the sphere, and the BASS. My god the bass was so in sync with the show. Spoiler: for those who have seen this, there’s a scene with a bunch of faces and people talking. A voice from every angle of that arena, the most overwhelming and amazing thing I’ve experienced. I almost had to hold my ears. It’s like an acid trip for sober people. This show is simply just showing you the power of technology we have created and if you can’t accept that, then don’t go. In fact, it’s actually one of its kind. As in you cannot experience this currently anywhere else on Earth. It’s a stellar and life changing experience.

2024.05.06 23:25 Pooncheese 5 Tanks left to buy, should I even bother?

Only a few tanks left to buy. Already have full zero skill crews sitting in t8 prems for Is4, k91, type 7, concept 5 and blyskawica (t9 tank).
I prefer meds and lights, so K-91 never really appealed because it seemed best to snipe with (why not just play td imo).
IS-4 has always had its weaknesses but I know its been buffed and also powercrept.
Concept? I hated that line.... I love leo, and other paper meds so I think I could jam with it, but the turning radius and shit dpm, huge profile, shit camo, shit armor? am I wrong? Does it have something to go on?
Type 71 is universally thought of as junk? junk armor, junk dpm, junky junky.... can it be used in any effective way? worth going for at all?
Blyskawica? Think I only played 8 and 9 both seemed great, seems to fit my overly-aggro playstlye, mechanic almost fits me, i love shotgun etc, full send it. But I thought I had heard mixed reviews about the tier 10... dont see a ton in pubs. The 8 was great with a bit of issues, 9 seems weaker armor wise which makes the aggro playstyle harder, but still decent and playable. Fun all around so far? is the 10 decent to play aggro? Compared for Ho-Ri? Badger? Foch? 268v4? curious the most about this one probably
Only 2 arti left to buy, not a fan in general, but did just get the 261 after only owning t92 and gconq for years.... holy cow is 261 fun that you can actually aim and hit pretty much anything you want with the aim time and accuracy.... heard the 155 58 is annoying like that... obviously this isnt a real choice im gonna get a real tank first, but I did enjoy being able to plink a bit with the 261.... Only bought it cuz i wasted my sale 20% on it from xmas? cuz i needed to buy it eventually for 279e mission (chimera union-12) got it done on the first try and was like WOH this tank actually can aim and hit shit lol. was kinda fun.... i aint gona lie, but always less fun then actually driving... I know GW is comparable accuracy, maybe it would be ok to get a bit more power and have a middle ground between the t92 big boy and the 261 accuracy.

Thanks all for input!

2024.05.05 20:40 LumberJackClimbing Hey I would like a decent smart watch

I would like to get a decent smartwatch that will be fully compatible with Android. The reason I'm not just going through your sticky thread just because I have a particular request.
I don't need anything like brand new, but I would like something that was top of the line at its time. I've been seeing a lot of watches that are like a couple years older like three or four years old that have a lot of the features that I'd like and they're a lot cheaper now but still either new or refurbished on Amazon etc.
I'd like to know what everyone's view was on the Samsung smart galaxy watch 4 for example? It's in my price range they got a pretty good guarantee on Amazon and it seems to have all the features I'd like. It also has decent reviews from people who have bought the "renewed version".
Is that a decent watch if it has all the features I'd like what was everyone's experience with it back when it was new? I'm not a techno junkie to the point where I need something brand new I just want as many features as possible.
unless somebody has a better suggestion. I'll probably ONLY is it for fitness, stress and sleep stats and MAYBE for the occasional text reply etc. but I would like Wi-Fi and definitely Bluetooth

2024.05.05 20:19 Travel_Monster Castle Hot Springs (AZ)

Y'all I am on too many planes this weekend so in the interest of adding value and killing time, here is my review of Castle Hot Springs in AZ. It's about an hour outside of Phoenix.
Booking: This is also pre me working with a TA. We direct booked the room category “Spring Bungalow” at $2100 per night for 3 nights in winter. The prices fluctuates with lowest dips in summer. Prices included all but spa, alcohol, and premium activities (e.g. horseback riding, via ferrata, mixology).
Why: I wanted to be warm, eat good food, and am a water junkie who loves hot springs. It's got all that.
Arrival: You fly into Phoenix and then can take car service, helicopter (sometimes), or rent and drive about an hour to the gated property. The last few miles of the road are real dicey so get a good SUV if you're driving yourself. Note that there are specific days for check-in / check-out so you don't have as much flexibility for when you go as other places.
Room: Totally awesome. I love not sharing walls with other people so the standalone nature of all their rooms is great. Plus it's got a cozy sitting area and fireplace plus some outdoor lounge space. The bathroom was the perfect size plus there was an entire outside bonus tub which was filled by hot spring water. And while I thought this would be a major feature for me the springs ended up being so private it was even nicer to just go hang there. The bed and all the textiles, etc. were super comfy. I do like the landscaping and setup for the spring rooms more than the skyview but skyview get decks w/ telescopes so that might sway you the other way.
Landscaping: Usually I wouldn't call this out but it's a gorgeous property. So much grows cause of the access to the spring water so it feels lush and dessert vibes all at the same time. And they get lots of critters (my fav) b/c of it too. Anyway, they take their gardening and shit real serious and it shows. It's like walking around in a magazine.
Hot Springs / Pool: Perfection. There are multiple temps and plenty of space to spread out so you're never packed in and most of the time the only couple in them. They close one pool when they do watsu and some other experiences but you won't even notice. And do the watsu - it's so cool. There is also a regular outdoor resort-style pool but we didn't use it cause it wasn't warm enough for all that. But if you went in summer I bet it would be awesome. The surrounding plants attract a lot of hummingbirds that are fun to watch.
Activities: They have e-bikes that can do gravel, yoga, farm tour, archery, hikes, etc. All included. All awesome. We also paid the premium for the horseback riding, mixology, and via ferrata. This was a trip where I was just always doing activities and had almost no chill except when I went to the springs. I also took a few wellness options where you can diy stuff like bath bombs, salt scrubs, succulents etc. Most activities are in a group and you sign up at the activities desk (or before you go if you want). There are limited slots but it wasn't ever a problem. I think the perfect arrival combo is to do mixology and then the farm tour. It's the best and most interesting nibble as you go tour and you'll appreciate all the food so much more after seeing the operation.
Spa: I did a daily treatment and doubled up one day because I basically fell in love with my therapist and felt like she was giving me years back on my life. I am sure they're all awesome though and the spa pods by the stream are nice and relaxing.
Food: Delicious. The fact the grow so much of what you eat and that it's using the mineral water makes it all super yummy. The breakfast, lunch and snacks are all great. So many healthy choices that pack a flavor blast and they're very open to you doing some customization to make it what you want. And dinner is a tasting menu that always exceeded expectations. I didn't have a single non-yummy bite the entire trip. They also stock your room with local and good snacks so if you're wanting something in off hours you've got options (or pro-tip is just go to the bar and ask for shrimp cocktail haha cause it's so good).
Drinks: All the cocktails. Their bar program is ridiculously legit. We got a little adventurous with some off menu options that are kinda non-secret secrets like this mezcal, bell pepper, micro-cilantro one they make and I still dream about it. Also the prices are really reasonable for the quality. The wine list was solid and they could do pairings with meals if you wanted but usually we just got a bottle. If you don't finish it they will store it in the cellar for your next meal.
Service: This isn't particularly high-touch or formal but everyone is nice, pleasant and helpful. It's just a place where you ask for what you need. They'll golf cart you anywhere including up to the springs. The activities team is also just so happy (all the staff is) and def give the vibe that the owner gives them a lot of freedom to add things based on their interests and passions which I really appreciate. This is the place where I realized I like to "pal around" with staff cause they activities and bar crew was so cool here that we ended up being friends with some of them.
Summary: I would absolutely go back. It's a great space to choose your own adventure and chill or run around crazy depending on how you wanna be. And the only AI I have been to that had better food was Naviva (at double the cost) so if you're a foodie I think you can be happy here. I know they do a lot of promo and pay to be on lists and stuff and they almost always look like they have space online which maybe makes it seem less nice (cause to me it seems like they're trying hard). But anyway, we really loved it and for most of my friends it's the first place I recommend as intro spot into chubby/fat travel.
Hopefully this helps! Happy travels.
