2024.05.14 00:17 aldisneygirl91 My parents are still account holders on my checking and savings account. I recently opened a USAA credit card and did not specifically add them as account holders for it. Can they see anything about the credit card at all?
This might be a silly/stupid question. But I first opened my accounts when I was a minor. I'm an adult now but my parents are still account holders, just so that it's easy for them to transfer money in and out (since they always just transfer money to me for my birthday instead of getting me gifts, and I am still paying them back for my car which they paid for so it's just an automatic transfer from my account to theirs every month). I recently got a credit card and it's listed on my homepage along with my checking and savings accounts. I'm the only one listed as the account holder for the credit card, and I didn't add my parents as account holders or authorized users. I know that they probably can't actually go and look through the purchases I've made on the credit card (not that they would anyway). And I know that obviously, if they went into my checking account, they'd be able to see if I'd recently made a payment on the credit card. But can they see that I got a credit card from their accounts, or see the balance that's on it? I've been responsible with it and haven't racked up debt on it. BUT I do have some credit card debt on another (non USAA) credit card. I mostly got the USAA one because I'm hoping to be able to do a balance transfer from the other card and get the debt paid off more quickly. I'm definitely a bit embarrassed about the debt though and would really rather my parents not know about it.

I’m so mad!!!! I’m not sure if I’m more mad with my ex-husband or with myself for falling for his BS yet again!
My ex-husband and I have been divorced for 2 years. He’s 40, I’m 38. We were together since I was 20. We have 5 kids together, and our oldest are teenagers. Our relationship was pretty rocky and very on/off for several years prior to actually following through with the divorce. I feel like we both still loved each other, but we’re incompatible on a day to day basis. I believe he cheated on me. He also never wanted me to work outside of the home. We just had very different ideas of what marriage meant. I don’t feel like we were so different when we were younger, but we grew to be very different. We had actually started the process of separation and divorce once before, but then I got pregnant and during that pregnancy he became the perfect husband. But things eventually fell apart again and we finally realized that we had to get a divorce.
On my birthday in March of this year he came to my house announced with a gift for me. It seemed genuine. We slept together that night. We’ve slept together several times since then. I know it was stupid to do, when I’m already struggling with so many mixed emotions about him and like I’ll never truly get over him. But I didn’t think we were really doing any harm. There was no talk about us getting back together. Neither of us was pretending that it was something other than what it was - sex. That was until he invited me on a vacation, just the two of us. At that point I knew we needed to have a real conversation about what all of this meant. He made it seem like he wanted us to go away and explore the idea of getting back together. That’s what he said. He wanted to talk about “what it would take” for us to try a relationship again. He was talking about therapy and counseling and being a better husband and father.
We never went on the vacation. I hadn’t vetoed it completely, but I told him I needed to think about it some more. This was toward the end of April. So, a matter of just a few weeks ago.
He got me a nice gift for Mother’s Day (not including the gifts our kids got me, which I knew he also paid for) and wrote a very thoughtful message in a card, which he normally doesn’t do. It was sweet. It felt good.
Then last night at around 11:00 pm I was scared half to death when I heard somebody loudly enter my home. When I went downstairs to check what was going on, it was one of our sons. He was supposed to be at his dad’s tonight, and that’s where he came from. He was so upset. It took a good 5-10 minutes to calm him down. He was pacing just looked so angry in a way that he normally never is. He told me that his dad, my ex-husband, is actually engaged to a secret girlfriend he’s had for who knows how long. They’ve been engaged since January! My son saw pictures of my ex-husband and this woman on my ex’s phone. They weren’t nude photos or anything like that, as far as I’m aware. My son asked him who this woman was in all of these photos and my husband told him “Don’t tell your mother, but this is my fiance.” My son said he was so mad he just stormed out of the house.
So, this entire time he’s been sleeping with me, claiming to be single, and inviting me on vacation to discuss getting back together…he’s been secretly engaged? To a woman who he’s never mentioned before and has never introduced to our kids?
I’m blown away! This feels worse than all of the stupid things he did while we were actually married. It almost feels calculated that he’d have all of these pictures of her and the two of them together on his phone and allow our son to use his phone knowing he’d probably see the pictures. I feel like he couldn’t bring himself to sit our kids down like a normal person would to give them this news, so he allowed my son to find these pictures. The fact that he never mentioned a word about this woman and then he was so easily able to say “Don’t tell your mother, but this is my fiance” is so weird.
And guess what? She’s in her 20s. How cliche. How sad.
It’s time like these where it’s very hard to be a good mom, pretending to be the bigger person and take the high road while also not totally burying my husband’s character in front of them. My children are very hurt by this. They feel very betrayed by their dad for not even mentioning that he was dating someone, let alone getting engaged to somebody who he’s never even introduced them to. Throw in the fact that she’s not even 10 years old than some of our kids. They don’t want to talk to him. He’s been blowing up my phone all day and one of my daughter has told me the same. They don’t even know about what was going on between the two of us. I’m not saying they were clueless because we’re dealing with teenagers here, but they don’t know that he invited me on this vacation or anything. Being there for my children, protecting them, and helping them navigate their emotions is my main priority, but I really just want to go crazy and tear him a new one. Trying to remain composed is very difficult.

We all know that sometimes we decline an order and then get a great order. And if were 5 blocks down, we may not have ever seen it.
Yesterday, my wife and I went to a birthday party. It's 20 miles north of where we live. I've been to the area twice,. both times delivering there from my area (the tip was worth it). It was supposed to start at 2pm. We were close at about 2pm and my wife got a text that the party would be delayed because the people were picking up guests, soo we went to McD's close by to get a bite (I hadn't eaten yet). While there, I decided to turn DD on to see i could log on (it was busy so Dash Now came on). First offer, Shop and Pay for 6.6 miles for $26 for 4 items. Oh yea!!!!
I went to the supermarket alone while my wife stayed with my toddler who was playing in the playground at McD's. I got the items (flowers, card. frozen cheesecake, and some seafood). Took all of 10 minutes. I sent a pic of the card to get customer's approval. Then I went to deliver, and it was passing by the McD's, so I picked up my wife and son and delivered the items to a nice guy on crutches from some kind of injury. Then after completion, it seems that he upped the tip from $20 to $30, so I got $35.50 for that 20 minutes of my time.
Right place, right time. Like most things in life.

I should probably give some background before I start, David is 3 years older than me, around 6'6 I think, not bad looking (fighting the sibling urge to call him an ugly bastard but I'm trying to be accurate here). unlike me he got our mom's red hair which he's always kept almost military short, he's dressed the same way since we're were kids: a colorful button up dress shirt with an ugly sweater vest over top and brown jeans.
"He wouldn't hurt a fly are you insane?" That's what I said through my grief and disbelief when when the familiar voice of my friend from my hometown Garrett Robinson, now Sheriff Robinson I suppose came crackling through my phone speaker to inform me that David was a suspect in my mother's murder.
"I'm sorry Martha, I wish I was better at comfort, and I know he wouldn't, I'm just going to ask you a couple questions and then I'll let you go."
He responded with what sounded more like pity than sympathy in every word. "Go on." I said trying to compose myself, he asked me some very scripted questions that he already knew almost all the answers to, he and David had been inseparable since middle school, people rarely said one of their names without the other, and based on my brother's Christmas cards they were still just as close.
After he hung up I heard nothing about it for the following depressing month, not even some kind of funeral service calling to ask about mom, until my wife shook me awake at around 5am to show me my ringing phone with David's name across the caller ID.
"Ahoy Mort,"
He started immediately when I answered, for the circumstances he sounded so casual, as if we just talked yesterday. (He last called me on my birthday 8 months ago) "I assume you know about Mother?" He asked "I do uhm-" I choked on a sob "Did Garrett and the police figure out who did it?" I asked after composing myself with my wife's help, "I'm afraid not, but Garry did a great job clearing my name, the neighbor's were looking at me pretty nasty for a couple weeks." He paused and breathed down the microphone like he always did between thoughts, "Anywhatsit, I've been doing all the work on the funeral and wanted to invite you and Nance, they're putting her next to Dad at Parkview cemetery next weekend. How are y'all doing by the way?"
"We're fine, and thank you, we'll be there." We talked a little longer about this and that, he apologized for not inviting me sooner and joked that he "had a lot going on" and offered his home to us for as long as we'd be in town.
I spent the morning packing up for my wife and I for the week we'd be spending at David's house and occasionally having a breakdown or 2 and we left for Tennessee at about 3 in the afternoon. I drove for the first few hours in relative silence until it started getting dark. "We should stop at a hotel" I said,
"It's only a few more hours, I'll drive the rest of the way pull over."
I silently thanked God as I was pulled over, I was incredibly tired, "thanks Hun." I said as we passed each other walking around the front of my shitty minivan. Almost immediately as she was behind the wheel she got talkative as was expected after the last few years of being together, "soooo, do you think he did it?" She asked "huh?" I said tiredly "your brother?" She clarified "Nancy!" I snapped at her "okay, okay sorry I asked."
"No it's okay." It wasn't okay, that was inappropriate but I was used to her being tonally blind at this point. "I see why they would maybe look at him for a second, he and Mom never got along-" "Ooo new lore!" she cut me off "Don't call it lore dork this is real life." I snapped "sooorrry grumpypants" she groaned, I stared at her blankly while having my bi-weekly regrets about my marriage, she glanced at me twice before adding "I'm just kidding! Please go on."
And after a few minutes I did, "I was always mom's favorite, she didn't want a boy so she was very hard on Dave." "Sounds like a delightful woman." She responded sarcastically. "She wasn't that bad, I only ever saw her get physical with him once.." "oh my! Once! What an angel!" I was starting to get upset but continued anyway "she was only trying to push him over and she was drunk." Nancy tried not to laugh but failed "good luck with that he's built like a brick shithouse!" Her phrasing made me chuckle but I was still angry, she's not wrong though, he's always been a musclehead even if he hides it well under that dumb Bill Cosby ass wardrobe.
"We're going to be staying at his house I'd rather not entertain the idea that he's a killer." I said staring out the window at nothing "that's because you're no fun." She teased, "I'm with you for your looks." I shot back "and you're a bad liar!" She responded patting me on the shoulder. I fell asleep not long after that, instead of dreams my brain just played old nearly forgotton memories, David constantly getting asked for hugs by men and women all the same when we were in highschool, they would all melt into his arms, he'd always be the one to end the hugs because they never would. Then the only time I ever saw him angry, it was right after James Morris punched me in my junior year, him and Garrett both had James virtually pinned to the bathroom door and the look on David's face was foul as he spoke words I don't remember (I never told either of them I started that fight), then mom trying to push him... He stood stoic staring at her while she shoved in vain, he didn't look angry, just unbelievably hurt.
"Babe... Martha... Cinnabon..." I awoke to my wife shaking me "nm what?" I said as I started waking up. "We're here." She said as my eyes opened to see a worn sign that said 'Welcome to Parkview' "you're gonna have to direct me to the address."

Let me preface with my expectations for Mother’s Day are already basically non-existent. Keep your expectations low are you will never be disappointed right? but yesterday was a new low.
So of course my husband forgot about Mother’s Day until Saturday but still plenty of time.
My oldest daughter no longer lives at home so this only involves my husband and youngest.
He takes her to Walmart Sunday afternoon. Whatever. He texts and asks me if I want hamburgers for dinner. Again sure whatever.
Then later my daughter brings me my gift. She hands me a card and a box of incense. I really do love the incense and it smelled really good.
So I open the card which I also love and I expect to find a gift card (and I mean like a $20 GC) and it is empty.
So I told my daughter how much I loved it and thank you.
When I asked her today if dad helped her or gave her money. She said he told her to pick something out and when she told him I needed something more he apparently said that was good enough.
I nicely ask him a few minutes ago if he had given her a budget and he said yes and she spent it. The card was probably the same cost as the incense honestly. $15 is what I am worth to him as the mother of his children. Money is not an issue for him at all.
Then he proceeds to throw a teenager with no money and no drivers license under the bus and says she should have taken care of it because I am not his mother. How these holidays just make people hate each other. I said who hates anyone? I was just asking if there was a disconnect.
He is now upset with me for saying anything and my daughter to having the audacity to tell him he should be helping with Mother’s Day.
This man gets up and goes to work. Barely does anything else because when asked to help he does it when he feels like it.
I do all the chores. Shopping. Holidays. Birthdays. Finances. Vacations. I work 40 hours a week just like him. He just shows up.
His excuse will be similar when my birthday rolls around

AITA for feeding my mom the same energy
I (f) have been having problems with my mom lately. She has shown me her true colors, like yelling and calling me and my sister names. For instance, we were at a gas station one time waiting for our dad to come and get us. My mom had a winning lottery card; but the cashier said she didn’t, so she got mad and started yelling at the cashier and making a scene embarrassing my sister and I. When we got into the car, she yelled at me and my sister, calling us punks for not helping her out (nothing we could’ve really done), and she stated that something was wrong with us for not helping her out.
On another occasion she was teaching me how to drive. I will admit that I don’t take criticism well under pressure. I just told her I didn’t want to drive anymore. She asked me why I was such a quitter and gave me a lecture. When I gave her an OK, she called me a bitch and left.
Now this is where everything happens. on Friday last minute my mom told us about a cousin's birthday that’s three hours away so we went to the store and bought some clothes some things I couldn't wear because of some issues to my body and she got mad at me about that and some outfits I didn't like then we go to buy some shoes at first they fit but then when I took the tag off they were loose so I couldn't wear them I tried to wear some heels I had but I can't really walk in them I thought it was better than walking around in some that would slip off any minute but my mom wasn't happy about that she was arguing about how late we are and just told me to stay home and she took my sister and left now since she’s back we haven't talked besides some mothers day stuff but she got mad when I was giving her the same rude energy she gives me and that I didn't say bye to her after a while she told me that while she’s still upset she still loves me and only wants what’s best for me I don't really hold grudges so I wanted to make sure I'm not making a big deal out of anything so, AITA?

Hello everyone do I have a story for you. Desclaimer the names are made up for the story. And its quite long so sorry.
So I (f) have a friend Mary (f), who I met in 11th grade. I already kind of knew of her because my sister used to go to extracurriculars with her ( I also went to the same place but in a different class, I was also well known there for being smart lol I'm not really). Anyway at the start of the school year me and Mary became friends and she started to open up about her past, she told me that she was bullied in her old school , made an unalive attempt and dated a very toxic guy. (Ik these are very concerning things, she went to therapy for a while and is much better now). Now, this man child Darren dated Mary before we officially met for about 3-4 months, she told me all sorts of bad things about him. For example: his parents found him wasted in a random ally, he was toxic and would assault her, he cheated on her multiple times, EVEN WENT ON A OVERNIGHT TRIP WITH SAID HOMEWRECKER!!! Overall he is a sh*tty guy. Anyway I thought that this was behind her and she started to take a liking to a "sigma" dude in our class (this guy defined himself like that) although I don't like the guy it was better than Darren. Anyway sigma guy didn't work out so guess what she did... SHE GOT BACK WITH HER EX!!!!!!!!! The worst part is that she came to me crying 2 weeks later that he didn't change. To my disgust from then on they were on and off for the hole year while they were also hooking up with other people.
Fast forward to our last year of highschool and she finds new friends (I still exist there) and meets Caleb literally one of the only ok, civil and normal male figures in our grade. Anyway they start liking each other and end up making out at Calebs birthday party after a lot of drinking.(I was not there I recommend no underage drinking) From then Caleb confessed his feelings to her to than get heartbroken by her. MARY F*KING LIKED HIM AT THE TIME SO WHY THE F*CK SHE REGECT HIM!!!
Then I find out that she did the devils tango with Darren and lost her v card with him (I'm fumming).
From here on out Darren starts doing a lot of creepy sh*t so I'm just gonna list it:
Now on to Mary, while all this things were happening she made out with random dudes and stuff and had the audacity to do it in front of poor Caleb and basically a lot of shitty things that will break a man's heart.
fast forward one last time to a weekend I went clubbing for the first time, he was there, Darren I mean, and I stupidly thought that Mary was going to be responsible to than have my hopes crushed when I found out that she was making out with him.
so basically I feel dumb for supporting my friend throughout these mentally excruciating (for me) 2 years and telling her time and time again to RUN and get gaslit into thinking that she did. ex: one time she sent me a screenshot of their texts to see a big paragraf of saying that they will keep hurting each other if they were still together I was so proud of her until like 2 days later where she pulled a uno reverse card.
Anyway thanks for letting me vent my anger, and advice to everyone DO NOT BE LIKE MARY OR DARREN AND DO NOT ASSOCIATE ROMANTICLLY WITH PEOPLE LIKE THEM!!!

- texting her telling her he knows where she is going to go on weekends (he is usually accurate)

Hello all, I hope to keep this brief, but I've been known to ramble.
I had a LCSW therapist for over 3 years, I saw her weekly for most of that time. I'm transgender and she specializes in LGBTQ+ issues. I really thought that we had a good relationship. She was very kind. I had many good memories in her office. She threw Christmas parties for her trans patients, gave me an affirming birthday card because she knew my family is not supportive. Etc.
Then she changed. At the beginning of the year I spent a week in a mental facility due to self harm concerns and when I got out I first noticed it. She became increasingly more cold. About a month ago it hit a peak and she threatened to discharge me. Then I assumed she reconsidered because she scheduled me for the following two weeks and nothing else was mentioned. On the third week, after a particularly emotional session where I was sobbing for most of the whole hour, she said: "we just keep going around and around the same issues" "I don't believe I can help you" and "if I'm trying harder than you are, there's a problem". She discharged me that day. We spent the next week exchanging emails basically blaming each other for what happened, and now she has gone quiet.
I have not always been the most cooperative patient. I have suffered for years with severe social anxiety and depression and they have been mostly resistant to medication. Though my parents meant well, they raised me in a very emotionally abusive household. I have trouble getting close to people and having healthy relationships with them. She had been trying to get me to go to trans support groups and find other supports for a long time now, but I have been having trouble following through because of my anxiety.
The only discharge information I received was a short Word document with links to trans support groups and a telephone number for another therapist. He only sees patients virtually and she recommended him knowing that virtual meetings spike my anxiety. There is nothing about this therapist online and the only information I have is the number she gave me.
She has left me alone with no support. I have few friends, and despite knowing that my mood is highly unstable, she discharged me anyway. I basically have no one now except for the number of a person I know nothing about.
I guess my questions are: Is this ethical? Should I look into filing a complaint against her? Is this normal behavior for a therapist and I'm being too sensitive? I'm very hurt by the whole thing and am having a hard time dealing with it.

2024.05.13 23:24 sallysfunnykiss Memory Cart not Recognized in Cartridge Slot? Or is it working perfectly?
I bought myself a model MK-80000 Saturn for my birthday and installed a Fenrir ODE. The eBay seller also included a Memory Card Plus cart, but the system does not seem to recognize that there is anything in the cartridge slot. I think I may have knocked something loose while I was rooting around in there installing the ODE, because I've attempted to play a few of those fighting games that require a memory card for the extra 4 MB of RAM and the console doesn't see it.
However, while browsing Reddit, I've noticed people mentioning that in order to play imports on an ODE without some sort of region-unlocking device, which has not been my experience at all. Japanese and PAL games run just as well as American games. The console itself had not been opened before I received it and still had its original tape and clear plastic sheets inside, so it wasn't modded.
This may sound incredibly stupid, but does anyone know what is going on? Is the Memory Card Plus cart not actually a memory card but a region unlock cart? I keep running out of system memory to save so any help pointing me in the right direction for save storage options and whether or not the Fenrir is just different when it comes to imports would be greatly appreciated.

I don't really know what to say. If you've seen my previous post you'll know that it happened again after my birthday. I saw photos on his phone - specifically speaking, he was using Telegram to either talk to girls or get photos. He said he didn't do anything with the photos BTW... but he sent a gift card. 20 pounds.
I'm sitting here, over a week later and I've had every emotion under the sun. But tonight, after putting my toddler to bed, I just feel so lonely. I can't talk to anyone about this. My husband was my best friend. I wasn't too worried about not having close mum friends etc because I did everything with him.

My MIL got in an argument with us this weekend. Demand, we send a card and gift to my Husbands nieces. They are 18 and are completing high school. My husband was confused as she (his mom) has never gotten him so much as a card on his birthday. (Nor myself- we are born a day apart) She sees my young niece (ages 6 and 1)and how we accompany them to Disneyland and other theme parks. (Most post I’m just tagged in on fb as I’m not there, but my mom tags me to see it) She has shown her jealousy towards us spending time with my side and is now demanding we treat my husband nieces the same. His sister is toxic and did not address the graduation announcement to me only my husband. Now she’s asking for gifts. What do I do? I’m lost do I send a gift or just ignore them. I tried to explain the fb thing but no luck in understanding. So, I just blocked everyone. That way no one has to see anything.

Posting here because I need help/advice. I 28f have been with my bf 27m for 5 years now. My bf has difficulty holding down jobs. He was always looking for something better which was fine. However last year he quit his job and took on drinking and taking edibles daily. It’s embarrassing to admit but I stayed thru it all. He used insta cart and doordash to make his monthly bills but it’s not enough. I’ll pitch I here and there to help with his car payment. I’ll break down in bullet points bc i don’t know how else to tell my story.
Holidays: For Christmas I bought his family gifts and had him say it was from both of us. I knew they were getting us gifts and I didn’t want to get something without giving them something?? None of my family knows how bad it is. I’m really close to them and I just brush things off. I lied and told them he finally found a job but he hasn’t. I didn’t get a Christmas gift. But I gave him money. He took me to a steak house for my birthday. Paid for it. Then asked I pay back for my meal bc he miscalculated and needed the money. He did buy me flowers for Valentine’s Day. I bought us an expensive dinner for his bday. I will admit I like a certain type of lifestyle even if I can’t afford it so I may overspend on things.
Addiction: Recently he lost his wallet which meant no Id which meant he couldn’t go to the dispensary or buy alcohol. He ended up finding his wallet but I offered to hold onto his id. It was going well but one day I left an expired id with him so he could buy a beer. I left and came back 24hrs later and he was drunk at 5pm. He gets overly emotional and depressed when he’s drunk and I don’t know what to do other than comfort him. Before I would say I was going to storm off or leave him and that would send him into a deeper spiral so now I nod and try to appease him.
Credit card debt: I’ve been swiping my card for food and drinks for both of us. He uses my car for DoorDash which means I pay for the gas. Before he quit his job (he had been unemployed for 3 months before his most recent job) he really wanted and oled tv and asked I put it on my card and he would pay me back. He made payments for the three months that he was employed then stopped. He ended up selling the tv it was $1,100 he kept the money to pay his bills and buy weed. I finished paying off the card myself. I’m in such a hole borrowing money in hopes I can cover my ass until the next paycheck. I got a part time job im starting soon which should help me a lot. I make a decent wage.
Financially irresponsible: we went on a trip to the casino (he was still employed at this time) I booked the hotel on my credit card. He ended up winning $5,000!!! The first night there. Want to guess what he did next??? He took copious amounts of edibles and blew $3,000 of it on more gambling. He won another $1,000 and also blew that. With the remainder he bought a pc AND I had to beg him to pay me for his half of the hotel room. He did pay for dinners and lunch while we stayed there.
Promises: he says he’ll pay me back. I’ve helped him make his car payments. I help him with food. He says things are going to change. He paints this really pretty picture that I so badly want to be true. But it’s MAY 2024. He quit his job June 2023. He promised me Christmas he promised me my birthday gifts. All which fell flat. And now I just feel like a fool. He says once he starts working he’ll pay me back.
I’ve been helping him apply to place none call him back. He also can’t pass a drug test currently.
Relationship: aside from the money I think we’re okay? We trust each other we love each other. When we’re together we’re always laughing and having a good time. We get along. On weekends we take turns on who gets to pick the movie. He’ll watch twilight and mean girls with me.
The only thing is when he is in withdrawal or hungover he becomes easily agitated and needs space to calm down. The worst he’s done is raise his voice and so do I. Normally he just needs to walk it off or blow off the steam and things get better. He’ll hyper fixate on something I did and call me out on it. I’ll apologize but he won’t let off of it when he gets like that there is nothing I can say to change things. In my mind if I did something wrong I get it I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do to change it? But if he lies or does something he brushes it off and gets upset with me for being upset at his lying?! He’s a terrible texter and never answers his phone. If I needed immediate help I’d be out of luck. But I always have to be there for him. Let’s say he’s having a bad day he needs me there and wants me there. I have to drop everything and if I don’t he feels bad and guilt trips me.

But I gave him money. He took me to a steak house for my birthday. Paid for it. Then asked I pay back for my meal bc he miscalculated and needed the money. He did buy me flowers for Valentine’s Day. I bought us an expensive dinner for his bday. I will admit I like a certain type of lifestyle even if I can’t afford it so I may overspend on things.
Addiction: Recently he lost his wallet which meant no Id which meant he couldn’t go to the dispensary or buy alcohol. He ended up finding his wallet but I offered to hold onto his id. It was going well but one day I left an expired id with him so he could buy a beer. I left and came back 24hrs later and he was drunk at 5pm. He gets overly emotional and depressed when he’s drunk and I don’t know what to do other than comfort him. Before I would say I was going to storm off or leave him and that would send him into a deeper spiral so now I nod and try to appease him.
Credit card debt: I’ve been swiping my card for food and drinks for both of us. He uses my car for DoorDash which means I pay for the gas. Before he quit his job (he had been unemployed for 3 months before his most recent job) he really wanted and oled tv and asked I put it on my card and he would pay me back. He made payments for the three months that he was employed then stopped. He ended up selling the tv it was $1,100 he kept the money to pay his bills and buy weed. I finished paying off the card myself. I’m in such a hole borrowing money in hopes I can cover my ass until the next paycheck. I got a part time job im starting soon which should help me a lot. I make a decent wage.
Financially irresponsible: we went on a trip to the casino (he was still employed at this time) I booked the hotel on my credit card. He ended up winning $5,000!!! The first night there. Want to guess what he did next??? He took copious amounts of edibles and blew $3,000 of it on more gambling. He won another $1,000 and also blew that. With the remainder he bought a pc AND I had to beg him to pay me for his half of the hotel room. He did pay for dinners and lunch while we stayed there.
Promises: he says he’ll pay me back. I’ve helped him make his car payments. I help him with food. He says things are going to change. He paints this really pretty picture that I so badly want to be true. But it’s MAY 2024. He quit his job June 2023. He promised me Christmas he promised me my birthday gifts. All which fell flat. And now I just feel like a fool. He says once he starts working he’ll pay me back.
I’ve been helping him apply to place none call him back. He also can’t pass a drug test currently.
Relationship: aside from the money I think we’re okay? We trust each other we love each other. When we’re together we’re always laughing and having a good time. We get along. On weekends we take turns on who gets to pick the movie. He’ll watch twilight and mean girls with me.
The only thing is when he is in withdrawal or hungover he becomes easily agitated and needs space to calm down. The worst he’s done is raise his voice and so do I. I also want to point out a few things up, this story is LONG, as it says on the title, we’ve been together for almost a decade, so there’s a lot of things to patch up, also, I’m not trying to paint him as the bad guy nor myself as the good guy, just trying to let it all out because there’s some details I cannot say to everyone I know, so it’s better for me to just talk about it with internet strangers, also, I don’t know if this place has a limit of characters, so if it has, it’s going to be some parts long.
So, to start this, I (27 F), broke things with my bf (26 M) Alan (Not his real name) after we’ve been together for little less than a decade because I was just so fed up with everything we lived together, not having the strength to even try and give this another go as he wanted us to. A year before meeting him on my last school year I was s*xually Ass*ulted by a man that I met on a park where I used to go dancing, not only that, but he made me believe that I was okay with what happened (I was sixteen and he was 21, here the age of consent is not until the 18th mark), he made me believed that I liked it, and made me believe that no one would ever believe me if I ever decided to report it, so I didn’t, but obviously it got me a pretty bad scar.
I met Alan one year later, his friend group was friends with my friend group, so in school we kinda merged together and he was a good guy, a great guy even, he always had something nice to say about me and he never blamed me for being scared of a group of people so anytime I wanted to buy something on the school market, he did it for me until he tried to make me come across my fear and was just behind me as I was approaching the big group gather on the market trying to make me feel confident enough to buy things by myself, after that we became closer and closer until one day I went with my friend group to recess with his friend group, but he wasn’t there, I asked one of his friends and he told me that he wasn’t feeling right and was still on the classroom, so off I went and looked up for him, we talked for a while and then he thank me for listening to him and not bug him with the “guys don’t cry”, that made us even more close to eachother and we started something, not a relationship, but a situationship from mid July to late November, when I graduated from school (He had one more year to go), on my celebration date, he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes, I made him meet my family shortly after and I met his.
He was a part-time gamer, and the first straw was that he believed that I would made him choose between his games or me, but no, I didn’t, even so, I asked him to teach me how to play so we could play together, I was not good, at all, but I was just glad to be on his hobbies, little did I know that would be one of the reasons I broke things off. Now, one time, when I was on the university, a random classmate just suddenly kissed me and I was in shock, so in shock that I didn’t kissed him back, nor could I stop him, but when he went for a second one, I backed out and I went to my boyfriend crying because I thought I was cheating on him because someone kissed me and I explained every detail to him, but the guy dropped off from college, so I never saw him again and then, another day, I was in the subway and encounter my ex boyfriend while he was, actually, coming back home after his own studies, I ignored him for the most part, but he actually asked politely to let him talk to me, so we went to a public park and he actually just wanted to say sorry because he cheated on me with his ex girlfriend while he was with me, we didn’t do anything besides me listening to him and giving him the closure he was searching for, we did not stay in contact, I just said to him that it was not something that I keep on mind to this day, but if it made him feel better, I would accept his apology and then we parted ways, everything I did and said I made my boyfriend aware of and he was such in a panic that one of his friends actually went to his house and they talked shit about me because I dared to let my ex ask for my forgiveness. Those are the only two time that I recall I made him feel insecure, two times and that’s it and he wasn’t letting any of those things go any time we got into an argument.
I remember one time we actually parted ways for some days and I kissed a girl, a girl that I have liked for a very long time and only then I figured that she actually liked me back, but I was stupid enough to not go for her, and wait for this guy for us to get back together and I actually told him everything, I know I shouldn’t do it, because it would only made him feel like on the edge, but by that time I felt like it was better to come clean about everything, he knew everything about me, it was only fair that I keep it like that. But then he got jealous everything I said I was talking to her in a friendly way (he never was banned from looking into my phone) and now I understand that his jealousy was not that unfounded, because I kissed this girl while we were separated.
There was numerous times when I wanted to break things with him, but he always managed to made me come back to him, one time we were walking on the sidewalk and I told him how I felt and that I was thinking about breaking up, he got on the ground, took a piece of glass and tried to h*rm himself, but I stopped him and we never talked about it again. I had to make two limits for him, I didn’t want him to call me before checking if it was possible for me to talk on the phone, unless it was an emergency, of course. And that I didn’t want him to go to my home unannounced, because he did it too much and he did not respect those boundaries until there was yet another conversation about breaking up and just then, he stopped doing it. He also lied to me one time when he went to the bus stop at freaking 7 am with the excuse of “I just wanted to get some air” and the proceeded to talk to me all the way about his problems and follow me to my workplace, and then he had the audacity to get mad when I told him I couldn’t stay longer because I had to get to work, just when we finally broke off he came clean that he was, obviously, trying to get a hold of me and not “Trying to get some air” as he tried to make me believe. I even started to go to my destinations by other means because I was afraid I would encounter him in every corner that I usually go to.
One of my college friends started a relationship with one of his friends and now that we broke things off, neither of them talk to me, so I am not sure what sort of fairytale he told them in which, he obviously was not in the wrong at all.

So yesterday was mother's day and I'm 23 weeks pregnant. I asked my partner early last week if he planned to do anything for me and he did the thing he does when he tries to lie. He danced around answering and acted a little smug and attempted to change the subject. I didn't get a yes or no out him tho. But Sunday roles around and I knew he was going to his moms, but he called me at 9am, waking me up, and last minute asked if I wanted to go to his mom's. He never once mentioned this all last week, where he talked about going to his moms every day last week, including the day before. Well he shows up back at home to pick me up with my gift. He got me a card with a print out of our second trimester ultra sound taped inside it and a candle that's 'scented' to mine and baby's zodiac(I'm due 3 days before my birthday). When we got to his moms, he barely even acknowledged I existed. 1 of his brothers spoke directly to me, his mom and other brother spoke to me if it was pertinent to the conversation. Over all, I felt ignored all day, even when we got back. He got on his gaming system when we got back home and barely spoke to me the rest of the day. Also, he admitted he ran ro target to pick up my card and gift last minute before picking me up? Like why would he tell me that? Was it supposed to make me feel bad? So, AITAH for feeling disappointed?

2024.05.13 22:21 Arktikos02 So if a medical clinic says that if you want to be a patient you have to give your credit card information and then they offer it through either phone, texting, or the portal through an email, is that suspicious?
Okay so I know that asking it through the phone or texting is suspicious but then they're offering it also through the email portal but I'm not really sure what the thing since they also offer it over phone with voice and phone over text which I find very sus.
And in case you're wondering no, it's not emergency services or anything like that. I'm not dying, I just need to set up an appointment.
I'm just trying to figure out which one I want and this one is like,

I’m 27, she’s 23. We’ve been married a few years, we still have a house together we’re trying to sell. She’s been moved out for over a month. I’ve had plenty of time to digest this and work on accepting it. I’m trying not to be too tore up about it. But it sucks.
We got married young. So we had some moments, sure. Growing together and learning how to be adults together wasn’t easy. But we were getting there. We fought seldom. I loved her deeply, worshipped her even. I stayed in a field of work (non union electrician) that doesn’t pay well and is grueling work because it “stressed her out” too much to even consider me looking for other opportunities. But I learned to love my life, for her. I gave my all, really. I did my best.
I’m not perfect, I’d get mad sometimes, I don’t think she realizes how patient I was though. My anger is slow, but she knows exactly what to say to me to make me angry, and it worked most of the time. “You’re lazy… you’re incompetent… you’re just like your step dad… etc.”
I don’t know. I just feel like we were doing good, all things considered. We were building something, we were growing, learning….
And she did this a week before my birthday, not to mention last year she moved in with her mom for a month during my birthday as well. I just don’t understand how someone can do this to a person that has devoted their entire being to them. Working the job they want them to work, trying to be a better man, going to the gym regularly, working on mental health, all that good shit.
I know I have to just accept this, I’ll never understand.
It’s hard. All I wanted was to love and be loved, and I tried so hard to make that happen.
I should’ve known though. She was never home anymore, avoided me as much as possible, and anytime we did hang out if I let her know I didn’t like something or I wasn’t vibing or whatever I “ruined her entire day” every single time. Even now with the little communication we have she still accuses me of that.
Life is meaningless. Love isn’t real. I’m as worthless as I thought I was when I was a child. Fuck her, fuck this stupid job, fuck that house that ruined my finances, fuck the credit cards that she (she says we) got in my name and put 30k of debt on. Fuck everything. Fuck life. Fuck.

2024.05.13 22:13 Shut_The_Box Adoptive mom kicked me out a month after turning 18, any advice?
I'm actually going crazy. I was born in Egypt and my parents moved to the U.S. specifically Philadelphia and I guess to be criminals because when I was ~2 child supportive services took them from me. As a result, I've had dozens of therapists, been in and out of behavioral facilities, and have (or had) an adoptive mother. Our relationship wasn't perfect but I reminded myself that she chose me and that she's really the only mother I know. Even though she didn't understand certain things, like why getting my black hair done was so expensive or why girls at school told me I should start wearing a bonnet, she always provided me with the essentials.
Earlier this year, I was at a long term behavior facility after my mom would lock me out everyday because I would 'annoy' her and it would be 20-30 degrees out and I couldn't go home. I normally spent my time at the library, but she had control over my library card and removed the ability of me to access the computers because I was 17 at the time. My mom forced me to drop out of high school and said it affected my mental health and how she would send me to JobCorps (A education and learning program from the U.S. government) After my 18th birthday (less than a month ago), my mom made comments about how she doesn't need to take care of me and how I am on my own but I didn't believe her until now. She got upset at me and I didn't even fight back, but she drove me 3+ hours from Delaware (where I moved after Philly) to a shelter in Pennsylvania. I couldn't finish high school, I have no social worker, and I just wished my mom happy mother's day but she hasn't said anything. What can I do?
I really don't know what to do and I just want to go back home to my mom and people I know, I have no other family since she lives alone and I don't have contact to anyone biologically relted to me. I'm over 3 hours away from my home and I don't know anyone here. I'm in the same facility as 50 year old men and I don't care that my mom kicked me out I just want to go back home to her. I have absolutely no money apart from an Old Navy giftcard I got for my birthday, so taking the bus or transport is out of the picture. Is there anything I can do or is this just my life now?
I'm not trying to look just for sympathy but it's hard not to be depressing with what's happened to me. I never thought I would never had imagined myself being homeless, specifically considering my mom is making well over 6 figures a year. If anyone has any numbers I can call or if it's entirely legal for her to kick me out for no reason and forcing me to drop out at 18 please let me know. <3
