Fourth year teacher, untenured and in my first year at my current school. I've been having issues with my department over my own classroom policies. I teach at a very conservative and extremely small rural school. When I started, I was really excited to be joining the team. However, my other members of my department (who have both been teaching over 25 years+) have criticized my pedagogical approach at almost nearly every turn. The following is a list of what they have communicated to me over the course of several department meetings: 1). I should be assigning homework (I don't like the idea of homework outside of incomplete classwork. I personally believe my students have enough on their plate.) 2). I should be using a textbook (I teach history and I want my students to spend more time reading sources like a historian, not just blindly accept what is in the textbook) 3). I shouldn't take late work without docking students (I personally believe that my grade should measure student knowledge more than their behavior) 4). I shouldn't be starting an esports club at our school because students don't need more distractions and we already have trouble fielding sports teams because of how small we are. 5). I'm defensive if I try and explain my approaches to teaching.
I have had to backtrack what I said to the students at the beginning of the year (giving homework and docking late points) to appease these other members of my department and show that I'm flexible and being a team player. This has caused some students to say I have lied to them, even when I couch the terms in "it's a community expectation."
I talked with my administrator and they just encouraged me to bend the knee to their expectations saying that "they care." I'm not opposed to constructive criticism and feedback, but it feels honestly more like an attack. I honestly feel unwelcomed by them at this point.
My question is am I wrong for trying to defend my pedagogical approach? What should I do to try and mend the relationship between these colleagues of mine? I'm open to suggestions.

I run a subreddit about cults. Obviously that comes with those cults getting their members to make accounts to mass report posts about them and their leaders. Recently such a group found a 3 year old archived post about them that must have been shared around the group because it is accumulating reports rapidly. There is nothing wrong with the post, it breaks no rules.
I have approved it over and over, but they are reporting it so often it is always on my queue. Is there a way to contact an admin or something to have them investigate the users mass reporting it and do something about it? I don’t imagine they’re anything but brand new accounts made just for the purpose of reporting that single post.
I will not remove the post. Especially with this attack on it. I think the post is more valuable now that the group is trying to get rid of it.

Well, let's wrap up what I've found at the very least interesting in the last couple weeks for pirates and purists alike! This one is very small, not much happening lately!
Sony:
As maybe you've seen, there's no better indication that 'if they don't let you buy it, then pirate it' than Sony delists Ghost of Tsushima PC from various Steam regions, much like Helldivers 2 saw.

Following Sony's decision last week to delist Helldivers 2 in 170 regions worldwide on Steam, it seems this will be the firm's PC stance moving forward, and it has since done the same for the imminent PC release of Ghost of Tsushima. More regions have been added to the list, taking the total number of territories affected to 180, which is now consistent across both titles.
Previously, Sony has said that Ghost of Tsushima's single player offering would be unaffected by this additional requirement. The game's Steam Page still states that a PSN account is required to play the Legends multiplayer mode, but it was delisted anyway. Due to the open nature of Valve's platform, these changes are pretty visible, and including Sucker Punch's primarily single player open world epic in this blanket ban comes as a legitimate surprise.

This is bullshit. The good news? Sony do not use Denuvo for their PC games, so it will be available as soon as possible to be pirated.

Rockstar:
By all accounts, it looks like Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption will be releasing on PC - in line with their usual tactics of releasing on a console platform and leaving PC for last, at least it will (probably) be coming to PC.

Denuvo:
A Denuvo 'outage' made a completely single-player game Persona 5 unplayble - amusingly Denuvo claim that "there was no outage related to its servers at this time"

• The Denuvo server outage rendered the PC version of Persona 5 Royal unplayable on May 2nd
• A partial workaround allowed Steam users to access the game without online functionality, but most didn't use it, with the game's concurrent player count consequently plummeting from 16,600 to just over 600
• The outage lasted for hours, angering fans

The thing we can take away from this is Denuvo sucks, and it's just better to play the damn thing via Yuzu or Ryujinx.

Related, we now see that it is confirmed that Homeworld 3 will release with Denuvo. The only good news is that Gearbox is one of the few publishers who remove Denuvo. So...just wait for this one.

So recently I seen some charges on my credit card that I didn’t make(3 charges of different amounts to onlyfans) .then I couldn’t find my card. It wasn’t where I normally keep it. So I called my card company and disputed the charges thinking my card was stolen. So a couple days later I find out that a family member of mine had taken my card and made the charges with my phone. They don’t have one so I let them use mine occasionally. I find this out 4 days later and I then call my credit card company and cancel the dispute. I didn’t want to get into any trouble because of this or get family member in trouble legally and we were gonna work it out between ourselves. Well They agree to canceling it and tell me that the will send a dispute resolution in the mail. I recived this resolution and it says that the charges will be taken out of my account on my next statement. I had thought that they provided me a temporary credit because I got that the day after I filed the dispute so I assumed that was what they were taking out. Well my next statement comes and they don’t take the money out I call them and ask for an update as to why the credit wasn’t taken out. They tell me that wasn’t a temporary credit that the merchant had already refunded the purchase and that is what was on my account. Confused I asked if they were gonna send that back and they said it wasn’t on them to give it back. They tell me that the dispute was canceled and that i didn’t have to worry. But is there something I need to do to give this merchant their money back or are they just gonna take it back? Is it gonna cause more problems down the line if they don’t get it back?

Ok I am officially graduating in a week and I thought it would be interesting to talk about my experience at Pace. My situation is a bit unique though as my underclassmen years (Freshman/Sophomore) were primarily remote because of COVID. As result I do feel I missed out on stuff, but I think I made up for it in the years following.
I am a film major with a digital media minor. I found the film major was extremely quick, but I could not afford most of the production classes (16mm, intro to film making, ect) so that locked me off a lot of the more advanced classes. That being said, I loved Editing I & II and even TA’d for Editing I for most of my time. I was not a member of any clubs because of COVID (didn’t feel like getting on zoom calls) but pace has a great club scene!! Ok on to my take aways

• Pace is just as good as the effort you put into it. Get involved on campus, it’s super easy. Join clubs, the newspaper, the radio show, student galleries, or even see what your professors are working on. Every semester research grants are offered to anyone! Like I said I TA’d and did work on the film festival. I had a lot of fun and it was rewarding! So many people I see just kinda go to class and thats it. That won’t get you an internship and that won’t get you a job.
  
• If you can stick through the beginng of your core requirements, you can literally do whatever you want. I know taking english is annoying. I know the coding class is annoying. But after that? There is like barely any limits. I took a sports class, criminology, anthropology, TV data class…it’s literally whatever you want.
  
• USE THE CAREER CENTER. specifically, USE SAL!!! The career center actually does care about you, they will make your cover letter and your resume. It’s important to have one which gives you access to the most important thing ever: HANDSHAKE. I got two internships and I’m interviewing for a startup that I found on there.
  
• form positive relationships with your professors. Don’t skip class, do the homework, and participate in class. Often when you do this they’re more lenient with you, will round your final grade, and can offer letters of recommendation or anything else.
  
• you need a job if you’re going to live in the NYC campus…unless you’re just rich. I find that the workload at pace makes this manageable. I worked at a retail store in WTC, got me through the semesters fine.
  
• honestly? The food isn’t bad. Not great!! But not bad. Its what it says on the tin, don’t expect anything fancy.
  
• the gym is gross. Sorry
  

Genuinely i had a fantastic time at Pace and don’t regret my decision.

Hi, I am currently finishing up my junior year and have been becoming more and more interested in advanced math+the careers that come from it, and I think it would be a great major, but I am vvery worried it will kill my chances at high tier schools because I didn't realize this until recently. I have no USAMO or AIME experience to speak of, and I'm pretty sure it's too late at this point. The only EC's I have for math are being a member of the math tutoring club and taking an online college course in Linear Albegra (no-one else in my school has done this level of math). If I try to apply to t20s for Math, will I get rejected because of my lack of qualifications? Extra: If i've only had math experience with up to calc BC and linear algebra but no competition/proof style math will I be completely out of my depth in an applied math degree?

In Ohio, I was accepted via early decision to a private university. A student at my same high school that I am friends with was also accepted to the same university.
Both of us applied during the same week and with the same declared major. My academics are higher or the same as his in every category (gpa, AP classes, AP scores, clubs, SATs, everything).
He was awarded ~$20k/year in merit-based aid and I was awarded $0k (neither of us were awarded any financial aid). The Admission Officer acknowledged the merit-based aid are somewhat arbitrary but also indicated they have targets to hit for certain nationalities and that could account for any difference. The University declined my appeal and wont engage any further.
I do believe this is discriminatory and, at least, should be regulated and addressed but can't find an attorney with experience or interest in engaging. Is this illegal or are there any laws or regulations that would apply to this? Any recommendations on how to find an attorney?

I am producing a hybrid conference that will use Whova as the front end for participants connecting via Teams.
The conference is large (up to 10 sessions happening simultanously), and I would like the option for all of the sessions to be hybrid and held on Teams.
I have an organisational login for O365 (working at a university). My question is: can my Teams account host simultaneous meetings in this way, or only one at a time?
In other words, if the conference has 10 sessions at 10:00, can my single Teams login generate 10 unique meetings each with their own links? Or would I need 10 staff members, each hosting one session each?
