Hi guys,
I’m just wondering if there’s anyone in Northeast Ohio that could help dial in my moped or honestly maybe just some advice. I’ve done a fair amount of tinkering and appears I’ve only made the bike worse.
I’ve added a 28t front sprocket 20 or 22 rear sprocket, mlm sidebleed, 18mm a55 intake kit from treatland and new mesh filter on top of an a55 airsal kit.
I’ve got a 78 main jet, but once it’s warm, it does not at all want to get up to speed. Sometimes I’ll just have to barely throttle till it gets to a point where it can speed up sufficiently and then can full throttle, but can take a very long time.
I’m not sure where I’ve gone wrong, I’ve got all even numbers from 76 to 90 in main jets so I can switch those out if that’s likely the issue
At wot, even with this setup, I’m still only getting about 43 mph
I’m thinking it could be an air leak somewhere? Maybe not enough air? Maybe I’m asking too much out of a kitted, non ported a55 with the 28/20(22 maybe?) sprocket setup?

I’ve got a 09 Streetmate r with the a55 and I’m only revving to about 8300. I’ve got an Mlm Cali sidebleed, mesh air filter, 17.5 Phva carb with 18mm treats intake, 80 main, ‘70’cc airsal. Matched transfer ports but that’s it. 28t front, 22t rear. 45-47 mph.
Would like to get to 9000ish

2022.08.26 17:32 andersvn51 Turn signal stays lit - 2009 Tomos Streetmate R
My left turn signal stays on whenever the bike is running, both front and rear. Right signal is fine. I don’t think it would be the flasher… I’m thinking a bad ground somewhere, but I’m not sure where to look. Thanks for any help

2022.07.03 01:43 idkidk82 Need help with A55
My 2008 Tomos Streetmate R has recently not been going as fast. It has a biturbo and stock cylinder head. I just changed the transmission fluid and worked on the plug but it still isnt going as fast. Just a few days ago it was hitting 40 and now its barely reaching 35. Any advice?

I bought an 09 streetmate for my mom which will be her birthday gift on the 28th. The speedometer doesnt work so i want to upgrade to an led/lcd display. Is there any product like
this that will be easily adaptable? Im assuming the speedometer broke because the bikes been modded to go faster, so for that reason i want to replace it with something aftermarket.
Also the lights kinda dull. Any suggestions on replacement bulbs?

So I'm looking at a 2009 Tomos Streetmate R and am about to pull the trigger. Its $1800 with delivery which I know is expensive but most of em are where I live and I don't own a car so pickup is tough. My question is how hard is it to replace the brake line? I have some basic matience experience from bikes and ebikes but wanna be sure it's not a nightmare as this will be my first real moped.

2020.06.03 23:59 adam6884 My Streetmate R takes forever to start. Any fixes?
Hey, My moped struggles to cold start. Whenever I want to ride, I have to prop up my rear wheel and repeatedly crank the pedal backwards while going full throttle untill the moped eventally starts. It takes around 10-15 minutes of continuous pedaling and throttling to get it to work. What would be causing this? It has done this since ive owned it so Ive dealt with It for a while but I would like to fix it. Any help is appreciated!

2020.03.06 03:41 Vannaka99 A little tire help for a new moped boy.
As the title states I’m quite new to mopeds. I’m entering a competition which requires tires to be at least 80mm in width when mounted and inflated. I plan on using a 3.50-16” tire on an OEM Tomos Streetmate-R (16” x 1.85”). Anyone here mounted something like this before and know the width? Or really I’ll take any input I can get!

Hi, I'm new to the moped community I just got a 2011 Streetmate R and I've been loving it. But I need to figure out a way to hold my phone. I'm looking at Ram mounts but I can't seem to find a place to put it. Also, any other suggestions you might have about maintenance, and just anything I would really appreciate it.

2019.05.28 23:16 Willaay Today I bought my first bike that is over 70cc. A 2019 Honda CB300R
I've been riding around on a 2010 Tomos Streetmate R for about a year now. It's got a 70cc kit on it but it wasn't reliable and it had trouble keeping up with traffic.
I wanted something I could ride around town without feeling like I was rolling the dice and picked this up today! Rode it about 25 miles home and have been loving it so far.

2019.04.06 20:21 MuchSwagManyDank 2008 Tomos Streetmate R, my first moped!
Hi all, I'm new here and to the moped ownership world. I've had it for 2 weeks now and I'm having a blast, but I do have some questions and concerns. 1. What does the highbeam switch do? I've watched a video where someone explains that the connections behind the light housing can be fitted for high beams but it would mean only one light will work at a single time. Is that right? 2. The throttle sticks sometimes, what can I do to make sure it doesn't do that anymore? 3. The left controls can't get tight enough despite tightening it as much as I can.
Hopefully my questions are clear enough that I can get my concerns taken care of. I have no experience with working on mopeds other than a bunch of YouTube videos I've watched. Today I will be working on the speedometer, the needle bounces and the light doesn't work.

Once insurance settles I’m going to buy one of these two, so what do you think? If you have any advice please let me know as well as if you have any pros and cons for either of these mopeds? I really would like something vintage but the streetmate is just so beautiful. Let me know what you think I should do. Both are in perfect condition.
