2024.05.15 18:11 FricaF What did you do today that only CF adults can do ☺️?

I’ll start!
I work part time since I had a burn out three years ago and came to the conclusion that full time job will kill me and since I don’t have kids I can afford to work less 🙏
After my 6 hour work day leaving work at 14:00, went home - had a lil snack and a coffee in peace and switched to my cycling kit. It is +23 degrees here and sunny so I rode about 2,5 hours 🙏
I made a nice long dinner - used my funny summery plates - food was spanish tortilla and gazpacho, laughted and enjoyed with my hubby 💖
Now I just sit here on my sofa, tummy full and watching Ice Hockey World Championships 💖
Perfect, happy day! And I’ll do the same tomorrow 😉

I did not remembered how dark Big Star got towards the end. How come albums such as this or five leaves left recorded with their authors barely keeping it together turn into such great releases. I was a kid in the nineties so the fist time I listened to is it surprised me how contemporary (to the music back then) this sounded. The alternative label fits better than the power pop for this one.

The 2024 PEA is preliminary in nature. Current published resources for both of the Cañariaco Norte and Cañariaco Sur deposits (previously reported in News Release dated January 28, 2022) includes Inferred Mineral Resources along with a significant percentage of Measured and Indicated Resources. Inferred Mineral Resources are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves and there is no certainty that the 2024 PEA will be realized. Mineral resources that are not mineral reserves have not demonstrated economic viability.
An independent technical report for the 2024 PEA,prepared in accordance with NI 43-101,will be available under the Company's SEDAR+ profile and website on or before June 7, 2024.
For readers to fully understand the information in this news release, they should read the technical report in its entirety when it is available, including all qualifications, assumptions, exclusions and risks. The technical report is intended to be read in its entirety and sections should not be read or relied upon out of context.
An updated Corporate Presentation will be available on the Company's website at www.altacopper.com
Giulio T. Bonifacio, Executive Chair, commented "We are extremely pleased with our 2024 PEA which is well advanced as we have clearly benefited from several previous engineering studies and a wealth of experience from our external international engineering firms. This PEA will prove of great value as we advance Alta Copper to the next stage. The PEA shows that Cañariaco is clearly a Tier 1 asset that provides a long-life, large-scale copper project producing annual average copper of 158,000 tonnes per year in the first 10 years. The Cañariaco project is economically robust with considerable leverage to increasing copper prices while also possessing considerable upside through resource expansion drilling with numerous high priority drill targets identified to date at Norte, Sur and the undrilled Quebrada Verde porphyry target".

Project Description
The Cañariaco Project is situated within the Province of Ferreñafe, in the Department of Lambayeque, in northwestern Peru, approximately 700 km northwest of Lima, the capital of Peru, and approximately 102 km northeast of the city of Chiclayo. Current access from Chiclayo to the Cañariaco Project is 150 km along a paved road followed by secondary gravel roads.
The project area covers moderate elevations ranging from 2,200 to 3,600 metres ("m") above sea level. The copper deposits are situated on the eastern side of the continental divide and infrastructure will be on the top as well as both western and eastern sides of the divide. The topography varies from steep incised valleys at lower elevations to open grassy highlands at upper elevations. There is sufficient suitable land available within the concessions and close to the mining areas for the process plant, ancillary infrastructure and comingled waste rock and dry stack tailings facility.
The 2024 PEA contemplates that Cañariaco would be mined using conventional open pit mining equipment followed by crushing, SAG/ball mill grinding and flotation recovery of copper, gold and silver to a copper concentrate.
Cañariaco is estimated to have relatively low project capital and operating costs due to proximity to infrastructure and favourable natural setting with key features as follows:
  • Large scale mining and processing operation to process 120,000 tpd/43.8 million tpa with a currently planned 27 year mine life;
  • Conventional drill and blast mining, large scale electric shovels and haul trucks;
  • Conventional crushing, SAG and ball mill grinding followed by flotation recovery of copper, gold and silver to a copper concentrate;
  • Application of best practice process tailings management through comingled waste rock and filtered dry stack tailings storage;
  • Water resources available in project area exceed project requirements;
  • Low Strip Ratio life of mine of 1.33:1;
  • Power supply from existing Northern Peru power grid with connection point only 57 kms from the project; and
  • Project site located only 24 kms from existing paved highway connecting to the Pan American Highway on the west coast.
Low Capital Cost Intensity
Importantly, the Cañariaco project has low capital intensity when compared to several other global copper projects currently in the development stage. Key project attributes that reduce the capital cost include the following:
  • The mineralized material from Cañariaco Norte and Sur deposits are moderately competent with Axb of 53, and moderately soft rock with an average BWI 12.2 kWh/tonne, which enables high throughput utilizing a single comminution line consisting of one primary crusher, one large SAG mill and two ball mills whereas many projects with comparable throughput require two SAG mills and four ball mills;
  • The region receives significant annual rainfall and adequate fresh water is available at site eliminating the need for a desalination plant and pipeline from the coast;
  • Relatively close proximity to the national power grid reduces the capital intensity of power supply infrastructure;
  • Close proximity to an existing major transportation highway reduces access road construction cost and time;
  • Utilization of trucks to transport concentrate along existing highways to the loadout port eliminates the requirement for a concentrate pipeline;
  • The project site is in a sparsely populated area and there is no requirement for community relocation; and
  • Concentrate loadout through an existing port on the west coast of Peru eliminates need to construct a new loadout facility.
Figure 4 - Cañariaco possesses a strong production profile with low capital intensity (based on average annual copper equivalent production (1) (Capital Intensity (US$/t) Bubble size based on annual production)
https://preview.redd.it/zjf7xopk4m0d1.jpg?width=1562&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7520ace4634d48e5892cbee9c941748abbddbb52
Sustainable and Responsible Mining
The project development concept has utilized best practice technologies and will benefit from several existing external factors which will assist in making Cañariaco a very responsible, desirable and sustainable project.
The application of filtered dry stack tailings combined with comingled waste rock storage maximizes the recycling of process water and significantly reduces freshwater requirements. In addition, this technology eliminates the need for wet tailings storage and a major tailing retainment structure and reduces associated seismic risk.
Electrical power in Northern Peru is generated predominantly by hydro which is the preferred power source from ecological and carbon emissions perspectives.
Electric powered overland belt conveyors, rather than haul trucks, will transport most of the mill feed and waste rock from the mining areas to the plant as well as the comingled waste and dry stack tailings facility thereby reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The project is located in a sparsely populated region and at elevations above major agricultural zones.
Capital, Sustaining and Operating Costs
The initial capital, expensed over the first four years of the Project, amounts to $2.2 billion. The sustaining capital over the remainder of LOM amounts to $526 million. Closure costs are estimated at $216 million. The project financial model incorporates a lease strategy for the purchase of the initial mining equipment whereby 20% of the mining fleet cost is capitalized and the remainder is carried as operating cost. Sustaining costs include construction of a crusher at the Sur deposit and related conveyor system to connect with the primary overland conveyor in year 16 prior to the start of mining operations at Sur.
A breakdown of capital cost is presented in the table 3 below:

Social &Environmental
Alta Copper has been active in the Cañariaco area since 2004 and since that time has developed and established a wide range of relationships with a corporate policy of respect, shared involvement and value, mutual benefit and transparency. Communications with the local communities and public authorities at all levels continues to ensure that key stakeholders are aware of the Cañariaco project status and plans, and that the Company responds to community concerns and requests.
Mining
The 2024 PEAis based on open pit mining methods with conventional drilling,blasting and material loading with large electric shovels for excavation and haulage to the primary crusher using large capacity haul trucks. Independent and dedicated high-capacity electric conveyor systems will transport plant feed from the primary crusher to the process plant and waste to the comingled waste and dry stack tailings facility.
Over the life of the Cañariaco mine, two separate deposits: Cañariaco Norte ("Norte") and Cañariaco Sur ("Sur") will be mined in separate pits, with the bulk of the plant feed coming from Norte. Mining will commence in the Norte pit which will provide 100% of the process plant feed until year 16 at which point mining operations will commence at Sur. Years 17 through 25 will see mining taking place in both Norte and Sur with variable mining rates while maintaining total annual production of 43.8 million tonnes. From year 26 through end of mine life all mining will take place in Sur.
The Cañariaco open pit mining operations will have a mine life of 27 years, operating 365 days a year with a life of mine strip ratio of 1.33:1 (including pre-stripping). The mine production plan is based on mining a total of 2.72 billion tonnes of material, comprised of 1.176 billion tonnes of plant feed and 1.548 billion tonnes of waste rock over the life of the mine. Mining operations will supply the process plant at 120,000 tonnes per day or 43.8 million tonnes per annum. During the life of mine operation, annual cash-flow will vary due to annual and forecast variations in head grade, strip ratio and metal recoveries.
The major mining equipment fleet will include nine (9) blast hole drills, five (5) 38 m3 electric shovels, two (2) 33 m3 front end loaders and thirty-eight (38) 290 tonne capacity haul trucks. A fleet of smaller loaders and trucks will be utilized for early mine access development and initial pre-stripping. Electric shovel major maintenance and mobile equipment replacement are carried in the mining costs. The moderate altitude of the Project avoids the need for de-rating of mine haul truck drive systems.
Whittle Consulting's Mine Plan Optimization
A key part of the mining plan development for this 2024 PEA included comprehensive mine plan optimization analysis by Whittle. This analysis includes a very detailed assessment of metal grades, metal prices, metal recoveries, mining and processing costs throughout the deposit, and by applying advanced computational analysis, including by the use of Whittle's proprietary Prober-E software, develops an optimized mining plan to maximize the net economic value of the mining operation. A key aspect of this mine planning strategy is that it brings forward cash flow and optimizes the net present value of the deposit. This approach involves advanced pit phasing techniques and takes advantage of variable mining cutoff grades, plant feed stockpiling and blending strategies during the life of the mine plan.
Metallurgy and Processing
The Cañariaco project comprises two copper-gold-silver porphyry deposits where the main copper species are primarily sulphides, predominantly chalcopyrite with lesser amounts of bornite and chalcocite. The Sur deposit also contains molybdenum however the levels did not warrant recovery for this 2024 PEA. Extensive metallurgical testwork programs on samples from Norte have been completed over previous years, providing an extensive metallurgical database for Norte. Resource development at Sur is at a much earlier stage than Norte and accordingly the metallurgical testwork completed for Sur is preliminary. However, the testwork results received to date from Sur are very good and comparable to the results for Norte confirming the amenability of conventional flotation recovery for both Norte and Sur.
The key metallurgical design parameters applied for process design in the 2024 PEA are as follows:
  • Mineralized material competency/hardness: Drop Weight Test Parameter Axb 53 (75th percentile), Bond Ball Mill Work Index 12.2 kWh/tonne (75th percentile), moderately competent and moderately soft
  • Grind size P80 for flotation feed: 200 microns
  • Metallurgical recoveries (life of mine): Copper 88.2 %, Gold 63%, Silver 53%
  • Copper concentrate: 26% Copper, 3.7 g/t Gold, 74 g/t Silver.
Mine haul trucks will transport plant feed material to the crushing station where they will dump the material directly into a large gyratory crusher. From the crusher, plant feed material will be conveyed to a live stockpile ahead of the grinding circuit. Plant feed will be drawn from the stockpile and fed to a single 12.8 m diameter by 8.2 m EGL (Effective Grinding Length) SAG mill. SAG mill discharge will be screened to remove oversize pebbles which will be crushed in pebble crushers and returned to the SAG mill feed. SAG mill screen undersize product will be fed to two parallel 8.5 m diameter by 11.4 m EGL ball mills operating in closed circuit with cyclones to produce floatation feed at 80% minus 200 microns. The floatation circuit will comprise of rougher and cleaner flotation stages, with rougher concentrate regrinding prior to cleaner flotation. Cleaner concentrate will be dewatered using a thickener and pressure filters, then conveyed to the concentrate storage building to await transportation to the port for loadout and shipping to offshore smelters.
Waste and Tailings Handling
The Cañariaco process flowsheet has included Comingled Dry Stack tailing technology for waste rock and tailings placement. This technology is considered as "Best Practice" and is seeing more application within the global mining industry. The technology offers three key benefits:
  • increases process water reclaim and recycling;
  • eliminates the requirement for wet tailings containment dams and eliminates related seismic risk,
  • reduces the size of tailing containment system footprint. Dry stack tailings treatment utilizes pressure filters to dewater process tailings to low moisture content with recovered water recycled to the process. The dry tailings filter cake produced are transported by belt conveyor to the tailings management facility where they can be placed or "stacked" with waste rock as a stable pile within the tailings facility. Combining the dry tailings sands with waste rock within the same pile enhances the overall stability of the pile and eliminates the need for two separate facilities.

We advise U.S. investors that this news release uses terms defined in the 2014 edition of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) "CIM Definition Standards on Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves", as incorporated by reference in Canadian National Instrument 43-101 "Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects", for reporting of mineral resource estimates. These Canadian standards, including NI 43-101, differ from the requirements of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as set forth in the mining disclosure rules under Regulation S-K 1300. Regulation S-K 1300 uses the same terminology for mineral resources, but the definitions are not identical to NI 43-101 and CIM Definition Standards. Regulation S-K 1300 uses the term "initial assessment" for an evaluation of potential project economics based on mineral resources. This study type has some similarities to a Preliminary Economic Assessment, but the definition and content requirements of an initial assessment are not identical to the definition and content requirements for a PEA under NI 43-101.

2024.05.15 17:46 dervd123 Fractured Sphere is live on kickstarter

Fractured Sphere is live on kickstarter
I’m really proud to announce my first fully 3d printable tabletop wargame, live on Kickstarter from May 15-June 14.
Nearly a hundred years after unification the earth sphere faces full scale war. Earth’s Children fight through the black void between gargantuan habitats in orbit and across the wilds of the earth they once called home. Powered Armours, 30 foot tall robotic exoskeletons, once used for construction and peacekeeping duties have come to the forefront of this fight and the aces that pilot them will be crucial to its conclusion.
Fractured Sphere is a 28mm combined arms mecha wargame with 3d printable minis. Players battle with mecha, tanks, aircraft and footsloggers in a hard sci-fi 22nd century earth-moon system.
Fast paced and destructive rules, made with love and admiration for oldhammer and 70s, 80s, and 90s mecha anime bring your battles to gigantic orbital colonies, the surface of the moon, and the earth that was home to humanity for so long. Do you love destructible terrain? Want to throw a tank through a building? Miss blast templates and damage tables? Fractured Sphere is for you.
Fractured Sphere has a model range of 52 Infantry models (the vast majority of which are posable multipart minis), 4 roughly 6” tall Powered Armours (massively posable multipart mecha with a huge variety of weapon options), 4 Ace Pilot upgrade kits (special character mecha upgrade kits with unique parts and a unique pilot mini) and 6 Vehicles and Aircraft (easy to build multipart kits).

2024.05.15 17:37 Overall_Big9104 Inner tie rod crow foot / wrench size?

Howdy, does anyone know the size of the crow foot for the inner tie rod? I’m looking to get the tie rod removal tool kit but not sure what size I need to have. Don’t want to touch my boots to check and there are no cheap u-pull parts around here to buy an old one. I got the 2016.5 if that matters. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

2024.05.15 17:27 SouthOrder3569 33rd Rathian "Seekers", Traitors of Rath

(Warning, because I haven't posted in a bit and am not sure how this would fall for some folks, but this one is a bit "Horror Movie" inspired, and a bit gory/violent)
Traitors of Rath
Post Lord Daug's Disappearance
Lord Daug had vanished, reports indicating he may have been lost in battle with enemy forces that he had been hunting through the wilds. Jeremy snorted at that, served the fat bastard right, the rathians may hold the noble in high regard, probably brainwashed by something in the water on that damned planet they loved so much, but Jeremy wasn't from Rath and by the emperors sitting ass he knew better than to trust in a noble. Which had made what he and the guys were planning a lot easier to stomach.
He nodded at Nel as the man spooned him some gruel into his bowl, a mix of ration packs and of some kinda local plant the rats had said was good to eat. That was another thing! What kind of self-respecting man trusted those THINGS? Every single rath born trooper treated them like they were little mini officers, it was DISGUSTING. There was no way the stories about the nobles asses butler were even halfway true, just stories to keep the men in line. Like they would be scared of a rat.
Jeremy resisted the urge to spit and signed at Nel, making sure the seargent couldn't see the signs. Nel signed back, and Jeremy smiled, their plan was ago, after tonight they would slip off and signal to the xenos that they wanted to surrender. Of course, the seargent, the only brainwashed bastard of Rath in their whole squad would protest, but they had a way to fix that, emperor issued too. Sure, the xenos were barely better than animals, but they at least had food, and weren't a thrice blighted noble or officer telling him what to do.
Jeremy took a spoonful of the rather decent gruel and hummed to himself as he ate. He would be first watch, and then when time came for shift change the seargent was supposed to relieve him. Then they'd be ready to have a talk with the seargent all seven of their remaining men.
...
Jeremy stirred slowly, since they weren't gonna be part of the guard after tonight who gave an imperial damnation if he slept on duty. But something was wrong, he couldn't figure out what the bad feeling was, but he struggled his way out of the blankets he had tucked around himself vaguely panicked. He hadn't been with the reigment long, but he had been a scout long enough to know this silence...was bad.
Carefully he moved back towards the little outpost they had occupied, some kinda poured stone stuff, like he knew what that shit was, with a heavy metal door. Whatever was coming, it would be safer with a few more lasguns around him. Having reached the edge of the clearing around the outposts entrance he looked around carefully and seeing no sign of danger dashed for cover in the doorway, the inset door offered plenty of cover for him to take while he knocked the passcode.
Or would have, had the door not been ajar...and the scent of blood wafted from within. Jeremy froze. That was a bad sign...a very bad sign. That was a LOT of blood he was smelling...but if someone had attacked, why hadn't he heard it? Slowly carefully, he pushed the door open further with the barrel of his lasgun. Even if he would have preferred to retreat, doing so alone was probably certain death, especially considering all his kit was inside.
The door swung open stiffly, as if stuck on something...and then something fell from the top of it into Jeremy's arms, he fumbled for a second, catching it between his hand and lasgun. Then he screamed and chucked away Nel's head, his lasgun was back up and at the ready aiming at the door. While he panted in fear. Then he heard something crunch the snow behind him, he spun around and opened fire blindly into the small stand of trees that surrounded this outpost.
His shots blew chunks from the trees and caused steam to rise from new craters in the snow, but no figure emerged from the moonlit shadows to face him. And that only made the terror worse. Jeremy spun and body slammed the door, forcing it forward and entering the outpost. Quickly he spun and slammed the door back shut again...only to find his hands in a massive smear of blood. Trembling he looked down and saw Nel's body below, the object that had blocked the door. Slowly his eyes went upwards to the top of the door, staring at the gore.
Trembling he threw his entire body weight against the door as he felt something slam into it with incredible force, only him holding it and Nel's body being in the way kept the door shut, and he fumbled with the latch. It was a secure door, once he locked it, the door would hold, it HAD to hold! Jeremy struggled, every slam against the door forcing him to throw himself back against it, cursing desperately as it failed to lock again and again. Finally, with a heavy clank, the door closed, and its lock fell into place.
Jeremy exhausted, slide downwards in the pool of blood at the door, happy that the 33rds footwear had not slipped in the mess. Jeremy cursed to himself again and stood up trembling as the banging on the door seemed to end. Whatever was on the other side...he didn't see it, but it was no man. No human was that strong, no human could...use the top of a door as a upside down guilotine. With a shudder Jeremy turned from the door and surveyed the room, grimacing as he caught sight of... Jenny, he thinks that who it was, their head apparently inside the now upended stew pot, still.
On the left, Ramsos and Hinkle were both dead, crushed against a wall by the table they'd been seated at, Ramsos slumped forward, Hinkle pinned to the wall by one of the standard issue sporks through his throat. On the right, it looked like Vanessa had been torn limb from limb by something. Massive tears across her body and limbs missing. Looking around Jeremy realized there were two people missing, Lowozky and Seargent Tion. Hope erupted in his chest, maybe they survived? The seargent may be able to deal with whatever was attacking them, he was a veteran he had to know some way to stay alive!
Jeremy looked around frantically trying to think of where they could have gone. "Lowozky! Seargent!?" he called out and then his eyes fell on the only door deeper into the place, he rushed over to it, and pulled it open. Maybe Lowozky had hid in the latrine?
He had.
But he had not survived.
Jeremy wretched at the stench and stepped back. Lowozky had voided himself in death, unfortunately he had been shoved head and shoulders first down the latrine and not the other way around.
The banging at the door resumed, this time harder.
And then Jeremy heard the roar of a chain sword revving.
...
Seargent Tion strode through the snow, covered in blood, he would have changed, but this had been his last decent uniform. He carried his kit on his back, chainsword holstered at his side. His las pistol had been lost in battle days ago alongside his combat knife.
It had made the night more unpleasant than he would have hoped. Then again, it would have been unpleasant either way. Tion shook his head and lamented the loss of seven soldiers of the imperium. It was unfortunate but he could not hold this post on his own, and due to his failure seven men were lost. If the Lord was here he would report to command immediately but...as it was...
He would have to find other imperial forces to report his deriliction of duty, losing seven men to poor morale when they were in his care was a serious failure. Though the Rathian did have to wonder.
How in the world did Jeremy sleep through the racket? Tion shook his head at the mans poor discipline, yet another failing of Tion's, he didn't instill a proper attitude and it showed.

2024.05.15 17:23 Fit-Fisherman-4138 The truth behind the AK allegations

I’m interested in the trust and not whatever narrative each side is pushing. I’m not an AK hater who’s here to spam Kendrick Lyrics or a AK simp who believes anything he says. I don’t want a victim getting no justice or an innocent man unjustly punished.
Hearing both sides, I think the girl got too drunk with AK’s homies and did some shit she seems to have regretted. It’s clear she didn’t remember everything that happened that night and whether she only lost memory vs lost consciousness is what separates if she was SA’d by his friends vs willingly participated and felt badly afterwards. The police seem to believe the latter but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen either.
Alcohol reduces your inhibition, so you might do shit you may not normally do or do shit consciously but have no memory afterwards but that doesn’t mean you were raped. However, if you become unconscious or to the point that you can’t consent, that’s a whole other story. We need more info than a still photo to determine that, and shit could have started concentually and became not consensual later.
I believe AK definitely had sex with her in the morning before he found out what happened at his pool. This is clear from the text message saying he will get tested and also from the alleged recorded phone call where he accuses her of being loose. He omitted this when telling the story for whatever reason, but also never explicitly denied it. He might be embarrassed by being the last to board a train he thought he was the conductor of and basically being humiliated in his own house, or if you believe the lawsuit he was the mastermind behind it.
From the actual evidence provided sofar, I believe he was not a part of it and whatever sexual contact they had was consensual. In the text messages afterwards, He sounds salty and and in his feelings which is consistent with someone who did not approve of what took place. She sounds remorseful and regretful and more upset she is losing a relationship than at an alleged assault. Moreover, not once did she accuse him of doing anything to her, and all her anger is towards his friends. In fact it seems like she wasn’t even aware of what happened until he confronted her and showed her the same picture she is using to sue him with. Why would you assault someone and then confront them with the evidence that you assaulted them?
Of coarse my opinion can change if more evidence comes out. I would love to see her statement to the police and that recorded wire conversation with AK. Did she at any point accuse AK of SA too in the days following? Her words right after the incident mean more than what some lawyer cooked up in a civil suit 2 years later.

2024.05.15 17:12 presumedinnocense Two pieces of critical evidence in triple murder trial are sketch as he!! 30 year vet imprisoned on a life sentence - how did this even happen? Our justice system is truly broken. #freekitmartin

Imagine if you will that you have been accused of a triple murder. Sentenced to a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Twelve jurors in Kentucky found the evidence convincing enough to convict Christian "Kit" Martin for the murders of his neighbors Calvin Phillips, Pam Phillips and Ed Dansereau.
His defense is that he was framed by a vindictive wife (Adele "Joan" Harman) that threatened to ruin him if he divorced her. The jurors got to hear very little about the backstory, a pattern of wild lies and deceptions and accusations against prior men in her lives when things didn't go her way, all discovered by private investigators.
This was a heavy circumstantial case. Joan and her son were allowed to plead the 5th and that fact was not disclosed to the jurors. Out of more than 100 DNA samples tested not one belonged to Kit. There were two key pieces of evidence that convinced these jurors beyond a reasonable doubt the Kit Martin was guilty. Kit claims those two pieces of evidence were planted so lets take a closer look:
First we have the dogtag. I mean, Kit must have done it because he left his dogtag right? There are four critical problems with this evidence:
  1. The name on the dogtag read "Martin, Kit" so this dogtag is not military issue. The military only issues tags with the full name (not nicknames) which would have been printed instead "Martin, Christian." Fake souvenir tags can be purchased online (an even in kiosks in some locations) to read what you input on your order. I know a lot of military people and know exactly zero that wear their tags outside of work. But let's say for arguments sake that the souvenir tag really was Kit's. The murders were planned in "precise military fashion" according to the prosecution, yet Kit chooses to put on a souvenir tag with his name on it that morning? I find that very hard to believe.
  2. This souvenir tag was tested for fingerprints and DNA and they found none. The prosecution argued that while Kit was cleaning up the blood from the carpet in the foyer, the tag must have kept getting in his way so he took it off and set it up on a shelf. That seems really far-fetched.
  3. The tag was on a string and not a break-a-way chain which was also tested for DNA evidence and there was "some DNA evidence" but apparently not enough to make a comparison to Kit's. This seems really off to me. If someone had just committed three murders, I would imagine they would have sweat a bit leaving behind DNA. Yet interestingly there is no DNA evidence on the tag or string matching Kit.
  4. Besides the most ridiculous idea that a murderer would even put that tag on before going to commit these murders, he had the forethought to wipe it down real good when removing it when it was in his way (to remove any fingerprints and DNA). Instead of putting it in his pocket, he places it on a shelf and then he forgets to take it when he leaves? Wow, really?
So the second major piece of evidence in this murder case was a spent 45 casing that matched the Glock found in Kit's safe. Here again there are a few problems with this evidence:
  1. Kit was portrayed by the prosecution as a highly trained ranger who skillfully planned out these murders (or at least Calvin and Pam's as Ed was an unexpected variable). But then afterwards he walked across the street and placed the murder weapon in his safe instead of ditching it? That's not too bright.
  2. The 45 casing was found by family members when cleaning the porch area FIVE months AFTER the murders. This was despite the porch area being processed THREE separate times; once by Christian County Sheriffs Department, once when Detective Scott Smith went to spray the scene with Blue Star (Luminol), and lastly when Crime Scene Investigators came in to try to determine where on the property the shootings took place.
  3. The bullets found in Cal's body were not conclusively linked to Kit's Glock in his safe. But the 45 casing found by family members WAS positively identified as being fired from Kit's Glock.
  4. Kit testified that when he first moved to the area he hung out with Cal some and did target shooting in Cal's backyard. There is no doubt that Kit was a gun enthusiast, but that does not make a person a murderer. He had spent casings in his backyard, Cal's backyard and in his truck bed. So it would be easy for someone to collect one of Kit's spent casings and plant it on the porch through the latticework.
So there you have it - so much reasonable doubt, zero DNA evidence yet Kit sits in prison with a life sentence. I want justice for the murders of Cal, Pam and Ed as much as anyone but I want the true killes behind bars. The entire case was aired on Court TV but a great book outlining this complicated triple murder along with much of the backstory was just released: https://www.amazon.com/WILL-RUIN-YOU-Twisted-Behind/dp/1960332651/ref=sr_1_1?crid=16F4EJ1ADIAFW&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0Uv31xRkigJgf0YtFU_hoTDA5NKrUkmCjLdhWuYJt7PGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.JPhlG_WJosxW0v7nGrsHoDXG_IlDGM6632INYnJiFwA&dib_tag=se&keywords=emilio+corsetti&qid=1715785721&sprefix=emilio+corsetti%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-1
A good reference for this case is the Dateline episode "The Evil That Watches." https://www.nbc.com/dateline/video/the-evil-that-watches/9000190878
Another good shorter synopsis (though a HUGE mistake is minute 4:25 where he states the phone found in the driveway was determined to be Pam's. It was Ed's phone found in the driveway. Joan was actually the one that took Pam's phone into the ATT store about a month after the murders saying she found it and wanted to get it unlocked (that's a whole crazy part of evidence that also convinces me that Kit is innocent - #joanhadthephone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WbFF7SyeSg

Been wanting to do some under the hood weight reduction recently, and I need some help cobbling the pieces together to do it, since I can’t seem to find a kit for it online. Prefer to not do a blocker plate, and rather go with an lb7 up pipe. What else would I need parts wise? Besides a tune.

My loadout for the upcoming Border war 16 event in CZ. I play as part of a recon squad.
I'm part of a 10man strong recon unit in alpha company, Task force side. In the 72h Border war event
Our job is to annoy the enemy while being behind enemy lines.
My kit is set up to sustain me for 12h easily without any external suport. and during the night we sleep in a tent. Because we do lots of walking (last year it was 35km within 2 days) it's also essential that the kit is as light as possible, but still has enough water (4.5liter)
Not pictured is obviously all the stuff that stays in the main base.

2024.05.15 16:47 DrDead88 2011 Kona Ute vs Taga 2.0

Trying to decide between two similarly priced cargo bikes for use while I'm relocated over the summer. I have an argo cargo kit that's working well for me at home, but it's too big and unwieldy to transport with me ~700 miles.
Use case will be short (<5 mile round trip, probably closer to 2-3) trips to the store and beach (read: flat terrain). Need to be able to transport 1 toddler, maybe (unlikely) a second. I currently have a Thule/Yepp rear rack seat that I can bring with me. Will also scratch the itch of riding my bike while away from home, some exercise.
The Kona Ute is a 2011, doesn't come with many/any accessories. Frame is a bit ugly, fenders could use replacement, and it sounds like the rear disc brake may need adjustment (hopefully not actually broken, hopefully doesn't need new cables/housing). I can do minor repairs/tuning, but nothing major where I'll be. Pros for me are the bike is solid, it'll ride like a bike, parts are easy, gearing is generous, and potential resale value if I decide not to keep it post-summer. Cons are transporting will be difficult- will have to lift onto roof rack of van. May need more work than expected. It's listed at $300, may go lower.
The taga 2.0 is the acoustic version. Apparently in great mechanical shape. Pros are portability- it can come apart for easier transport, front loaders are generally more versatile. Potentially decent resale value. Cons are: brand/solidity of the bike. I've had a 1.0 in the past, and it rode fine, but it's now a "phoenix company", and supplies/parts could be an issue. A non-zero number of people have had near-catastrophic failure (front fork braking), while others have never had an issue. Limited gearing, but I'll be riding flat terrain so it won't be a big deal. Listed at $275
Thoughts?

Still the coolest looking taxi wagon - E55T with 191k mls
Owned since January 2021, 2 owner car, first reg in Belgium, then Southern Germany, then me.
E55T, 09/2005, Designo color and roof liner, aux heater installed at AMG Performance Center in 2005, Distronic, heated and ventilated seats, heated rear seats, sunroof and IR windscreen are mentionable options over the stock equipment.
CLS55 19" wheels fitted by me in 2021 on Michelin PS4S 245/35ZR19 and 275/30ZR19.
I'm doing everything myself on th car, brakes and airmatic suspension less than 10k mls, original parts and Brembo 2 piece rotors in front from 212 E63.
Engine is original and never opened, 191k mls currently.
Running CLK AMG DTM TCU and 10mm air box spacers. Belt wrap kit and MSC charge air cooler are the only performance upgrades currently installed.
With the color, body style and wheels plus the tinted windows, apart from the performance and options, I just absolutely love the look of this car in this spec. Next to newer Mercs it just oozes cool, class and grunt which the newer ones somehow just don't get right IMO.
Runs and rides like butter, violently catapults forward if desired, 1000% stealth factor with badge delete and stock exhaust - what's not to love 😁
PS: It doesn't have the third row seat and no sliding trunk floor, with the extended leather and rear seat entertainment the only options that are missing that I actually wouldn't have ordered anyway if given the chance so I'm very happy with it.

2024.05.15 16:22 RandomAcademaniac Why are so many grade grubbers so stupid they don't even know what they're arguing for?

Story time! Final grades were posted and of the typical various students whining about wanting unwarranted massive curves and unearned free points, one struck me as quite humorous.
Student emailed today saying he was 100% certain I made a mistake on last project grade and this affected his overall grade in the class. So of course I now have to go through all the grade info for him and check. Turns out, no shocker here, he was wrong. The real funny part? Even if I had made a mistake, it only would have added 2 overall percentage points to his grade, making his 72 a 74, which is still a final grade of C. My university doesn't do plus/minus, so 70-79 = C.
I told the student this, that the grade was not wrong, but EVEN IF IT WAS, it still would not have made a difference and they still would have been a massive over half a letter grade away from the next letter grade. Their grade would not change either way, even if they were right.
The student was so dense they didn't even realize basic math, they didn't even realize what they were arguing. Their claim of wanting points back was so moronic it floored me.
Students are so blinded by just the sheer expectation to grade-grub that they don't even know what they're arguing for most of the time. They just want to question our authority and demand points because we surely must be wrong. They're equally as unintelligent as they are entitled. I used to get well thought-out, creative attempts at grade-grubbing, but that's long gone in the past, now they're all just baseless claims rooted in deep stupidity. Anyone else notice this?
What's your best/worst or most recent moronic student argument story?
