2024.05.15 08:13 CuriousAnachronism 24 M Germany - History and Literature Enthusiast

Hello and welcome to my post. I would like to make a friend.
Here are my interests:
History. I have had an interest in history for almost a decade now, it started back in school and developed from there. Well, now that I think about it one could argue that it started even earlier in my life as I liked watching the odd historic documentary or film aired on television but it wasn't regular back then, I never actively sought it out. I am mostly interested in European history in the period between the 18th-20th century but I sometimes branch out to other time periods and other parts of the world. I watch various channels related to history and read articles and sometimes books. I have recently got a few books on the German revolution of 1848/1849 and a historical magazine on the Thirty Years' War. Besides that I try to visit museums sometimes.
Literature. Especially old novels. I like to immerse myself in the Worlds of these books, I tend to read them while listening to thematically fitting music and take my time with them. One time you are following a troubled Youth in his quest for spiritual understanding of the world, another you see the aged and decrepit Doctor gambling his very Soul on the promises of abtaining satisfaction in earthy pleasures, then again your olfaction notices the most pleasant scent known to man even as the one eminating it has the appearance of a revolting Frog. These and many other stories open up to you once you decide to set foot into the literary World.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I am currently working intently on strengthening it. I believe that if I continue to apply myself in this regard then I should be able to finally conquer it. What language am I working on? Well, if you were to stack all the major works in it they would be as tall as a house... It is fun to go through different works in multiple languages, the same goes for film, games and such.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Well as recently as I played any major story centric game. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad. The main questline at least. Besides that I tried Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and I might give Deus Ex Manking Divided another spin (since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk when it comes to its aesthetics). Dark Souls is one of my favorite series, I still haven't beaten Elden Ring though. When it came out I wasn't in the right mindset to invest a hundred hours into it, with all those bosses and difficult locations. I think I'll only consider playing it if I am streaming it to someone. I am generally interested in either streaming games or having the person I am talking to stream them to me. To be specific I mean streaming to a single person while being on call. Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games, especially Europa Universalis IV and Heats of Iron IV, I tend to only play single player since I find multiplayer with many people to be rather stressful but on the other hand I have nothing against a co-op game. I'm not the best player though, despite the ammount of hours I have in them. Another great game I would mention would be Dragon's Dogma. A very underrated RPG. I recently beat it again and it was an atmospheric and interesting experience. It is one of those games that feel like they have an endless ammount of depth and constant new secrets to discover.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest in them has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good first season from the new arc of Bleach. Some of my favourite series include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. I wouldn't mind if you were to introduce me to some new series, maybe based on the ones I mentioned. My favourite Manga is Berserk which I still follow, althought I am still not certain on the direction that the new author is taking. I suppose it really is a matter of contention whether a somewhat (or considerably warped) vision is better than an unfinished work. One could argue that a few novels remain unfinished and possess a macabre appeal to them as such.
Music. Classical music has a very special place in my heart. A few of my favourite pieces would be: Clair de Lune, Nocturne Op. 9 No.2, Devil's Trill Sonata, Danse Macabre, Valse Sentimentale, Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Alegreto (by Beethoven) and Suite from Swan Lake, Op. 20a: I. Scene. Moderato. There are more but these ones always invoke something in me when I listen to them. Besides Classical I also enjoy listening to Synthwave, old Western pop and J-pop, both modern and from the 20th century.
Well that about wraps it up for my interests. I would like to add a few things before I finish. I am neurodivergent (autism spectrum) and struggle with mental health. I respect the struggles others have but due to certain negative experiences I would prefer to find another Aspie. I am rather introverted and I do not have a large social circle. If I like someone I want to spend as much time with them as possible. I have been hurt in the past by caring about someone much more than they about me so I would like to avoid such things now.
If you decide to message me I ask that you send a DM instead of a chat and tell me about yourself. Take care.

2024.05.15 07:59 AdInteresting2401 Prevalance of MCAS

Prevalance of MCAS
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10647312/#:~:text=This%20association%20has%20been%20clearly,the%20general%20population%20%5B81%5D.
"The prevalence of MCAS was found to be 6.2 per 100,000 based on an insurance database review of approximately 30 million patients conducted shortly after establishment of ICD-10CM codes for MC activation (C. Akin, unpublished data, 2018). The prevalence of MCAS diagnosis among allergy/immunology referrals is much higher, although not all these patients fulfill the diagnostic criteria, and allergists often do not have the expertise to coordinate the diagnostic workup of these patients presenting with symptoms not explainable by an MC activation process. The study by Zaghmout et al900065-5/fulltext#bib9) reports 703 consecutive patients referred for possible MCAS in Sweden and found only 4.4% met the strict criteria for idiopathic MCAS, with another 1.8% meeting the criteria for clonal MCAS. The average time to diagnosis in these patients with well-established MCAS markers was significantly high (4.5 y and 2 y, respectively for idiopathic and clonal MCAS), validating concerns about both underdiagnosis and overdiagnosis of MCAS. In this study, the authors studied patients with unexplained recurrent anaphylaxis, which is a prototypical manifestation of MCAS. The authors acknowledge that the prevalence of MCAS reported in this manuscript may be an underassessment because not all patients had tryptase levels checked after episodes, and the urinary mediator measurements were not available. In addition, there may be patients with less severe and nonanaphylactic presentations of MCAS among the excluded population. The results from this paper are consistent with another study from Germany which found 2% of all referrals met all 3 criteria.1000065-5/fulltext#bib10) In that study, 100 patients presented with 87 distinct symptoms, most commonly fatigue and musculoskeletal pain, and most did not respond to MC-targeting therapies. Nevertheless, even if it is assumed that a fraction of patients were excluded despite the fact that they may fulfill the criteria had they underwent complete work-up (eg, 36 patients in Zaghmout et al’s study900065-5/fulltext#bib9) were excluded owing to lack of event-related tryptase or lack of information on hereditary α tryptasemia [HaT] or mastocytosis status), the overall numbers from these 2 studies suggest suspected referral cases outnumber the proven cases. Given the knowledge gaps on diagnostic markers, however, this population of patients with well-validated MCAS appear to be the right target population to investigate additional molecular and soluble markers of MC activation."

2024.05.15 07:01 tempmailgenerator Automating Email Forwarding with VBA and Attachments

Automating Your Inbox: VBA Forwarding Techniques

Email management can be a tedious task, especially when it comes to handling a large volume of messages and ensuring important emails are forwarded to the right recipients with their attachments intact. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) offers a powerful solution to automate these processes within Microsoft Outlook, saving time and reducing the potential for human error. By writing specific VBA scripts, users can customize their email handling, forwarding emails based on certain criteria, including sender, subject, or specific keywords contained within the email body.
This automation not only streamlines the forwarding process but also ensures that all necessary attachments are included, maintaining the integrity of the information being shared. Whether for personal use or within a corporate environment, mastering VBA to automate email forwarding can significantly enhance productivity. The following sections will guide you through the basics of setting up VBA scripts for email forwarding, including how to access the VBA editor in Outlook, write the necessary code, and apply it to incoming emails to automate the forwarding process.
Command Description
CreateItem Creates a new Outlook mail item.
Item.Subject Specifies the subject of the email.
Item.Recipients.Add Adds a recipient to the email.
Item.Attachments.Add Adds an attachment to the email.
Item.Send Sends the email item.
Application.ActiveExplorer.Selection Gets the currently selected item(s) in Outlook.

Expanding Automation: The Power of VBA in Email Management

Email has become an indispensable part of professional communication, often resulting in a flooded inbox that can be challenging to manage efficiently. This is where the power of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) comes into play, particularly in the context of Microsoft Outlook. VBA allows for the automation of repetitive tasks, such as forwarding emails with attachments, which can significantly enhance productivity and ensure no important communication is missed or delayed. By leveraging VBA, users can create scripts that automatically identify and forward emails based on predefined criteria, such as specific keywords in the subject line or from certain senders, ensuring that critical information is promptly shared with the relevant parties.
Moreover, the automation process via VBA is not limited to just forwarding emails but can be extended to include custom responses, organizing emails into specific folders, and even setting up alerts for emails from VIP contacts. This level of automation can transform how individuals and organizations manage their email communications, making the process more streamlined and less prone to human error. For individuals who are not familiar with programming, the initial setup of VBA scripts might require a learning curve, but the long-term benefits of automating mundane email tasks can free up valuable time for more important work. Additionally, the customization aspect of VBA scripts means that they can be tailored to fit the unique needs of any user or organization, making it a versatile tool in the arsenal of email management strategies.

Automating Email Forwarding in Outlook with VBA

VBA in Microsoft Outlook
Dim objMail As Outlook.MailItem Dim objForward As MailItem Dim Selection As Selection Set Selection = Application.ActiveExplorer.Selection For Each objMail In Selection Set objForward = objMail.Forward With objForward .Recipients.Add "email@example.com" .Subject = "FW: " & objMail.Subject .Attachments.Add objMail.Attachments .Send End With Next objMail End Sub

Unlocking Email Efficiency: The Role of VBA

The integration of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in email management, particularly within Microsoft Outlook, heralds a significant shift towards efficiency and productivity in handling electronic correspondence. This programming language enables users to automate various tasks, from forwarding emails with attachments to categorizing incoming messages based on specific criteria. The essence of VBA lies in its ability to perform these tasks without manual intervention, thereby saving time and reducing the likelihood of errors. For businesses and individuals inundated with a high volume of emails daily, VBA scripts can be a game-changer, streamlining operations and ensuring that important communications are promptly addressed.
Furthermore, VBA's flexibility allows for customization to meet the unique needs of each user. Whether it's setting up auto-replies, managing calendar events based on email content, or even extracting data from emails for reporting purposes, VBA offers a versatile toolkit for enhancing email management. The potential of VBA extends beyond simple automation; it empowers users to create sophisticated solutions that can adapt to changing workflows and requirements. While the initial learning curve might deter some, the long-term benefits of mastering VBA for email management are undeniable, offering a blend of productivity, customization, and efficiency that is hard to match with manual processes.

Gameboy Enhanced Firmware v0.48 12 colors and 3 borders
Just posted the latest version to m5burner; thought I'd share some screens of the progress since the updates are all visual with this release.
https://preview.redd.it/8pbjrsibfi0d1.jpg?width=2064&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73c459c39d6a6106e891169609c692c194ae7d7a
I made the game boy style border the built in default (its my favorite one), but theres some surprises such as the exclusive donkey kong border when playing that game ONLY.
Fn + [ will activate the super game boy borders with or without super game boy mode being activated (intended to be familiar as [ by itself is used to change the palette category (classic gameboys, super game boy and 12color gbc)
Fn + ] will cycle the border (much as ] by itself cycles the current palette)
Configurable controls are at the top of my list; but expect many minor updates on m5burner with more games mapped, and some proper palettes to make use of the new 12 colour mode. The GBC palettes are all 10 colours or less and are there for accuracy. In addition, I've already written the code to read .pal files for the analog pocket so using this tool:
https://simplepalettemaker.streamlit.app/
Users will be able to create completely custom palettes. I hope someone can have some fun with this, I've had a blast transforming it so far.

2024.05.15 05:22 welsim Building an automated testing system for graphical software using QtTesting

Building an automated testing system for graphical software using QtTesting
Automated testing is an essential component of modern large-scale software. High amounts of automated test cases are used to maintain the stability of large software products. For the software with a graphical user interface (GUI), establishing an automated testing system can be challenging due to limited resources. Previously, the author has written articles on automated testing for engineering simulation CAE software, see “Automated Testing for General-Purpose Engineering Simulation CAE Software”, “Quickly Create Regression Test Cases for WELSIM”, and “Automated Regression Testing for General-Purpose Engineering Simulation CAE Software”. This article presents how to use QtTesting to quickly implement an automated testing system for graphical software from a software development perspective.
https://preview.redd.it/6i0l2gi9di0d1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=f946effd4b35f4e44678dbc840fabef01a772804
QtTesting is an open-source testing framework with a friendly license, similar to BSD3, and can be used for commercial products. It has been applied in practical instances for large-scale software such as VTK, ParaView, Slider3D, and WELSIM, proving to be an effective and user-friendly testing framework. As long as the software utilizes QT as its GUI framework, QtTesting can be used as the foundational component for the testing system. The source code of QtTesting can be directly downloaded from https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/qttesting or https://github.com/Kitware/QtTesting.
QtTesting is officially endorsed for UI testing. Although, in practical use, it not only can test GUI, but also can test any other functionalities of a product through the properties provided by the GUI, such as the accuracy of calculation results. Many of the numerical results in WELSIM can be validated through the functionality of QtTesting.
https://preview.redd.it/bir67ehbdi0d1.png?width=1332&format=png&auto=webp&s=cec341ccf972fa1df006aebb0c53829d5c37d9e4

QtTesting Framework

The Testing Module of QtTesting consists of two major modules: Translator and Player. Both modules establish connections with widgets in the QT framework to interact with the GUI framework. The translator captures events or signals of the widgets, while the player controls the widgets by traversing all active widgets to obtain the current object of the widget.

Test Translator

The translator module provides users with a fast way to create test files, essentially acting as a macro command for mouse, keyboard, and widget controls. When users perform certain low-level Qt actions such as “mouse movement,” “button press,” “button release,” etc., the generated signals will be captured and converted into higher-level events that can be serialized and played, such as “button activation.” The pqWidgetEventTranslator class and its derived classes play an important role in QtTesting. The derived classes of pqWidgetEventTranslator need to implement the translateEvent() method to handle Qt events and convert signals into high-level events consisting of two strings: a command and a command parameter (which may be empty). Finally, the high-level events are passed to their output container by emitting the recordEvent() signal once or multiple times. This is saved to an XML file, completing the recording of a macro command.
https://preview.redd.it/uu3xq5yfdi0d1.png?width=1450&format=png&auto=webp&s=6a6fbee0873b08024b6dad1ef25a06f43a99155b
During program execution, pqEventTranslator receives every Qt event that occurs in the entire application runtime and sequentially passes Qt events to each pqWidgetEventTranslator instance. The high-level events emitted by pqEventTranslator can be captured by corresponding observers. Observers either serialize and print the high-level events, or save them. Currently, QtTesting includes two observers, pqEventObserverStdout and pqEventObserverXML, which serialize high-level events to standard screen output and XML files, respectively. Developers can also create their own observers to implement custom functions, such as serializing events to log files or Python scripts.
https://preview.redd.it/36v9bblhdi0d1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=e38287db5e10ee95b4952b64b518e578f2ce85c7
The translator module can also record check events, such as verifying a property. During the check, an overlay will be drawn on the widget where the mouse hovers. A green overlay indicates that the widget can be checked; if the overlay is red, it indicates otherwise. When clicking on the widget for checking, a check event will be recorded, and a related QString value will be output. This feature is a crucial part when verifying numerical results in WELSIM automated testing.
https://preview.redd.it/gtga3biidi0d1.png?width=526&format=png&auto=webp&s=79c056ce858122d7dd64f21c90d00dddd2e80094

Running Tests

The essence of running automated tests is to play back recorded macro commands. In the QtTesting framework, pqEventSource provides an abstract interface for objects that provide a stream of “high-level events.” pqXMLEventSource inherits from pqEventSource and implements specific functionality. It is capable of reading XML files generated by pqEventObserverXML.
https://preview.redd.it/4lazua0ldi0d1.png?width=962&format=png&auto=webp&s=221bbd6ef049297228191c017713063f8f2a1b44
pqEventPlayer maintains a set of pqWidgetEventPlayer objects responsible for converting high-level events into low-level events. pqEventDispatcher retrieves events from pqEventSource and passes them to an instance of pqEventPlayer for execution. During runtime, each high-level event is encoded into three strings (object pointer, command, and parameters). Those are passed to pqEventPlayer::playEvent(). pqEventPlayer decodes the pointer address and uses it to locate the corresponding widget. Then, pqEventPlayer passes the high-level event and widget to each pqWidgetEventPlayer until one emits a signal indicating the event has been handled.
https://preview.redd.it/ka93c64mdi0d1.png?width=1444&format=png&auto=webp&s=1fc104d9f50dd951279b1e807df99e3c73ed088c

Creating New Translators and Players

A new translator must at least reimplement the translateEvent(QObject object, QEvent event, int eventType, bool& error) method. First, it must check if the object is of the correct class. Then, it should handle the case of pqEventTypes::ACTION_EVENT, saving the command and related parameters. Sometimes it should also be able to handle pqEventTypes::CHECK_EVENT.
Similarly, a new player should at least reimplement the playEvent(QObject* object, const QString& command, const QString& arguments, int eventType, bool& error) method. First, it should handle pqEventTypes::ACTION_EVENT, converting the read command and parameters into Qt commands, returning true for events it can handle. For checking commands, it should be able to handle the pqEventTypes::CHECK_EVENT event type. Using the provided command and parameters to check the current value of the Qt object, it should set the error variable to false in case of different values, but it should return true for all handled check events, even failed ones.
Sometimes translator and player classes will correspond one-to-one. Developers can refer to pqLineEditEventTranslator and pqLineEditEventPlayer for simple examples, and pqAbstractItemViewEventTranslatorBase/pqAbstractItemViewEventPlayerBase for advanced examples.

Running Tests

The source code of QtTesting is easy to compile, provided with a CMake program, which allows quick compilation into a static or dynamic library. Since this testing module is called in only a few places in the product, compilation into a static library is appropriate.
QtTesting has been successfully applied in software such as VTK, ParaView, but no test cases are available publicly. Fortunately, the general-purpose engineering simulation software WELSIM not only uses QtTesting as the GUI testing framework, but also open-sourced all test cases. Users can download WELSIM and the test cases to experience automated testing based on QtTesting.
https://preview.redd.it/xng1jxypdi0d1.png?width=1984&format=png&auto=webp&s=84132581457d16d58929363a4691c1927485ba49
WELSIM’s automated testing user interface is based on the interface of QtTesting, with additional features, such as:
  1. Support for reading *.wstb files, which contain a set of *.xml files, allowing for easier reading of multiple test cases at once.
  2. Saving failed test cases to *.wstb files. Users do not need to manually select test cases for saving.
  3. Adding a right-click context menu for selecting or deselecting test cases.
Developers can also add other functionalities as needed.

Conclusion

QtTesting is a free testing system for Qt GUI frameworks. It not only provides the core functions for capturing QT events and signals, but also offers a user-friendly interface, making it friendly for both developers and end-users. QtTesting can assist software developers with quickly establishing testing systems. Its built-in functionality for capturing and controlling widgets can meet the testing needs of most products, and it is easy to adapt. Developers can add new testing modules based on the widgets of their own products.
We have successfully applied QtTesting to the automated testing of the simulation software WELSIM, achieving great results. The content discussed in this article can be applied not only to CAE simulation software, but also to any graphical software built using the QT framework.
WelSim and the author are not affiliated with Qt or QtTesting. There is no direct relationship between WelSim, the author, and the Qt or QtTesting development teams or organizations. The reference to Qt and QtTesting here is solely for technical blog articles and software usage reference.

2024.05.15 04:54 nrgins Anyone interested in a free trip to Monaco?

The Microsoft Access development team has been promising for years that they were going to overhaul the SQL editor in Access. It was previously on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap for Access. But after several years of the project not being done, they just took it off and said that going forward they'd only put things on the Roadmap that were in active development.
Well, last month they put the SQL editor overhaul back on the Roadmap, with an estimated completion date of this September! The SQL editor is the Monaco editor -- the same one that's used in Visual Studio. Some features include: color coding; line numbering; light/dark themes; autocompletion support (for SQL keywords, as well as table and column names); SQL comments; simultaneous edits of the same word that appears multiple times; etc.
They also put Modern Chart improvements on the Roadmap, with an estimated completion date of this August.
So that's great news!
Here's a video discussing the Modern Chart improvements.
And here's a video discussing the Monaco Editor.
The Microsoft Team is open to feature requests for the Monaco Editor while it's still in development, which you can submit by leaving them as a comment under that video.

2024.05.15 04:45 416Basketball Ontario Intentionally Denying Health Care

Link if it's hard to read in this post: https://jordankligman.substack.com/p/ontario-intentionally-denying-health
Who Is Denying Health Care?
I’d like to tell you this is an outlier, but across the board patients are getting denied access to health care. How do I know? It’s happening to me.
Family Doctors Are Denying Health Care
What do family doctors do? They don’t do physicals anymore. Their jobs is essentially order referrals and requisitions. They don’t even do that well. Roughly half of my referrals don’t go through. I had a previous family doctor use my entire appointment to lecture me on getting the COVID vaccine. I had already had my first dose and was scheduled to get my second shot at the time. Keep in mind I had that doctor’s appointment because I have serious physical pain. The doctor wasn’t interested in treating me. He was interested in pushing a specific ideology. I’ve had the Pfizer COVID vaccine in total five times. I was overdue for my tetanus vaccine. I had to ask during three different appointments before I was granted that vaccine. This is absurd.
What’s more absurd is I have had multiple family doctors reject me as a patient. Health Care Connect, a government funded service, claimed these doctors were accepting new patients but they weren’t. I found one doctor on my own that was accepting new patients. The receptionist made me bring a printout out of my prescriptions as if I was a drug addict. After waiting a month for my appointment to meet this doctor he refused to take me as a patient. Claimed he couldn’t help me. He didn’t even ask for the prescription printouts. He couldn’t give me an answer as to why he couldn’t help me. So I asked him to put in it in writing he was declining me as a patient. He declined to do so and said he wasn’t obligated to do so.
Walk-in Doctors Are Denying Health Care
I requested imaging to try to find the source of my pain from a walk-in doctor. They claim they sent the requisition. A year later and the hospital the requisition was supposedly sent to had no record of it. So I went back to the walk-in clinic to try to get them to resend the referral. Instead of seeing a doctor this time they gave me a physicians assistant. The PA refused to resend my imaging referral. Told me to go to the emergency room to get my imaging. I thought the entire point of a walk-in clinic was to keep people out of the ER? I’ve since been to the ER. No they won’t just giving you imaging if you ask even if you are prepared to wait 5+ hours. I demanded a copy of the requisition for the imaging from the walk-in clinic they claim they initially sent. I scanned it in and emailed to the hospital.
Hospitals Are Denying Health Care
Even with the requisition dated a year earlier they would not honour the requisition. It gets worse. Multiple hospitals have denied me health care. An ER doctor looked at my medical records and essentially denied me health care. He basically inferred since other doctors couldn’t find the source of my pain he wasn’t going to waste his time thinking about it. He ordered bloodwork to confirm I wasn’t actively dying and then kicked me out. I signed up for a virtual emergency call with another hospital as recommended to me by telehealth. That hospital nurse during the call denied me care because she said they don’t do second opinions. So I said fine get me an appointment with any doctor of your choosing. She then claimed where I lived wasn’t in the catchment zone for that hospital. I’ve been to this hospital many times. I have an outstanding referral that has gone unanswered from this hospital. Changing the reason mid conversation as to why I am being denied health care seems like a lot of nonsense. A finally my favourite hospital. That’s sarcasm because this third hospital scanned the wrong part of my body and then lied about it. Not only did they bully my family doctor into taking the blame for this error, but they had all my personal information wrong. This hospital thought I was in a wheelchair. They also had the wrong phone number for me. It was a area code for a city not even in the Greater Toronto Area. All I wanted from this hospital was an apology and for them to fix their mistake. The PR person from this hospital told me they were taking steps to ensure this would never happen again. I asked what steps were taking place. I was not given an coherent answer. They gave me another scan, but I have no idea if that was even done correctly. I tried to confirm with the technician what part of my body they were scanning. Her response was that she is doing the requisition called for. So no steps to ensure correct scans were being done. The extra radiation from another CT scan probably isn’t ideal but what I am more concerned about is the dye. My scan didn’t call for dye, but at some point the hospital changed the scan and decided it was a good idea to inject me with dye for a scan I didn’t need my I remind you.
The Government Is Denying Health Care
I have tried to get in touch with the Minister of Health for Ontario, Sylvia Jones. All I get back is a copy paste form letter that doesn’t relate to my situation. I have spoken to my local MPP. She was defending the doctors that denied me care. Then claimed the government is hiring more family doctors. Not sure how that related to my situation, but okay… Then she asked me if I was open to private health care. My response was I was open on a contingency basis, but I don’t think she understood me. If a private doctor could can diagnosis me I’ll pay whatever their fee is. If they phone it in and cannot figure anything out I don’t agree with private health care. The problem is private health is rampant in Ontario. So much so it’s a two-tier system. From my understanding private health care was not currently legal in Ontario, but there are loopholes. These private doctors sell yearly subscriptions ranging from $3000 to $10,000/year. I’ve heard speculation that some of these private clinics may even charge as much as $20,000 but I have been unable to verify that claim. It’s kind of hard when these clinics don’t post their rates online and operate in the shadows.
