This challenge prompt, submitted by u/I_Hate_Monza_T1 , tasks you with removing a bad chicane from a race track. - Redesign a circuit that has a bad chicane so it no longer needs said chicane - Construct an entirely new section, not just skipping the chicane with a straight or replacing it with a turn in the same place - Should keep the track just as safe as it was with the chicane, or make it safer - Cannot be a layout that already exists (ex. the chicane at Fuji)

Not to spend too much time writing about Donald Trump this week, but I was struck by this report in The Washington Post on the former president’s recent overtures to oil executives. After hearing one executive during an event last month at his Mar-a-Lago club complain about supposedly burdensome environmental regulations promulgated by the Biden administration, Trump made a proposition.
You all are wealthy enough, he said, that you should raise $1 billion to return me to the White House. At the dinner, he vowed to immediately reverse dozens of President Biden’s environmental rules and policies and stop new ones from being enacted, according to people with knowledge of the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private conversation. Giving $1 billion would be a “deal,” Trump said, because of the taxation and regulation they would avoid thanks to him, according to the people.
The rest of the story goes on to describe Trump’s plans to gut the federal government’s response to climate change and facilitate more and greater fossil fuel extraction.
Trump told the executives that he would start auctioning off more leases for oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, a priority that several of the executives raised. He railed against wind power, as The Post previously reported. And he said he would reverse the restrictions on drilling in the Alaskan Arctic.
This would be a generational setback on climate change, a large and disastrous mortgage on the future so that oil and gas giants could fill their coffers for just a little bit longer before they are overtaken by clean energy.
I’m obviously angered by the blatant disregard for the planet and its inhabitants. But I’m also struck by the in-your-face brazenness of Trump’s reported quid pro quo. This is more than the hint of corruption; it is the overpowering scent of the rotting corpse of corruption. It is influence trading of the sort that would embarrass a Boss Tweed or a Roscoe Conkling, whose “honest graft” came with at least the pretense of pursuing the public good.
Even more striking than Trump’s corruption, however, is the fact that we seem to be completely unfazed by the fact that the former president has apparently offered to sell his prospective administration to fossil fuel interests. That might be because, from the beginning of his term to its end, Trump was a font for corruption while in office. His hotel, located just down the street from the White House, was a clearinghouse for anyone who wanted to buy a favor. His daughter and son-in-law may not have accomplished much as presidential advisers, but they walked away from the administration with upwards of hundreds of millions of dollars in new wealth. And six months after leaving the White House, Jared Kushner secured a $2 billion investment from a fund led by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
If Trump’s latest instance of corruption isn’t a campaign-ending scandal, it may be because it is nothing new. Trump is corrupt to his bones and now that appears to be as noteworthy as the weather...

For centuries handwriting has been our primary source of documenting data, but is it still currently? With digital technology reaching into everyones' back pockets the decline of handwriting is evident. Email's have replaced letters, Word has replaced note taking, powerpoint has replaced posters, and many more. Even though handwriting is a great skill to have, and can help you with other aspects in life, its pragmatic uses are continuously declining. Thus it should not be focused on in school as a mandated class but rather as an elective.
Undoubtably, handwriting has major benefits, more than just the physical writing it self. Cursive script is proven to develop fine motor skills and improve mental organization (SOURCE D). Even though cursive handwriting has such benefits, the uses it posses in the everyday world are exponentially declining. What would be the point of focusing valuable education time on forcing every student to learn cursive? It would be absurd, if they want to do it, they can choose to in the form of an elective. It would be deranged to force woodworking kids to join the band, same applies here. Or it would be the same thing as forcing every student to learn French, Japanese, Spanish, and Arabic, indisputably learning many languages has great benefits to one's mind, but it should be a choice especially since it is not used in everyday life. Or as SOURCE E states, Super Mario Bros can develop better motor skills. Another important factor to consider on WHY we should make it optional is its [handwriting and cursives] roots. The real reason we adopted such writing habits in the 19th century was to make our national identity and our sense of uniqueness. We differed from other scripts not limited too but including the Gothic script, or the Palmer method because they were connoted to different cultures (SOURCE C), we adopted this so we can show we are different, however in todays world that matters very little because everyone has the same Sans Serif font in their inboxes (font gmail uses). Vouching the fact that we should not make it a necessity at school for children to learn at school.
Even though mandating such a dying subject could potentially revive it, there is no practical need to do so. Doing so would most likely do more harm than good. SOURCE B portrays one of the thousands of worksheets teachers would have to print for every student to strenuously practice their cursive writing. We all know that deforestation is hurting our climate. Badly. So why waste even more paper, especially on children who have no interest in learning the skill as well. It is like buying a $100,000 racecar for a student who has no interest in racing. What will it lead to? Immense waste. To reiterate. The printing of worksheets should be encouraged for children who want to learn the skill of cursive handwriting, but shouldn't be forced upon everyone. There would be no point in encouraging penmanship in school since post-school the focus is towards technology, after all school is meant to prepare us for the future (SOURCE A). Schools that are focusing on it should reconsider and put more effort into preparing the children for the future. In 2013, writing on paper was on average 2x than writing with technology (SOURCE F), that is however 11 years ago and if numbers like that are still prominent, school administration should reconsider.
The point of school is to be prepared for the future. In today's world penmanship is almost extinct, and in tomorrow's world it will be extinct. Technology is more efficient to use, saves the environment, and is the standard for today. So why force children in learning something that will not have technical use to everyone. Are any of you guys going or interested in this coming sale? I'm a super horse nerd so follow all these sales and will occasionally do some bloodstock work for my friends. I love this sale as A) it is the only major dirt sale left following the closing of the Gulf Stream sale and B) it continually yields many good horses, like Mage and Gamine.
Are there any horses from the catalog that stick out to you? I'm very interested to see the pair of Hartley Derenzo Justify colts - one is out of the sister to Collected and the others second dam is a full to Summer Squall and half to AP Indy. TBX app now offers free gallop out times which will help tremendously in one's game of being able to identify good horses.
And finally, were there any horses from the previous sale that y'all liked? I was a big fan of the 1.2 million dollar Flatter that Mage's connections bought (even tho he misfired for a furlong of his work), and obviously anything that Zedan buys is going to be an elite prospect - absolutely loved his Justify colt from March (biggest stride angle that I have ever seen at a sale), as well as his Vekoma colt sale from April. Vekoma is throwing some real nice horses and has the pedigree and speed to make a real nice sire. The Win Win Win filly that Zedan bought is working lights out on Xbtv.com too, as well as her workmate, the Shancelot colt that Bill Childs purchased.
Surprisingly, Shancelot seems to be throwing some amazing horses - he got labeled a "doper" and many, like myself, kind of forgot about him. But when you consider that he was probably only taking sgf - 1000 (which is sheep placenta, not anabolic steroids), I don't think it will affect his breeding potential or influenced his race ability all that much. The horse threw a 122 Beyer at 3, which is absolutely insane....fine, take away the sheep placenta (which was used for recovery, not performance) and he still is a 110-115 Beyer type speed ball who worked a lights out 9.4 at OBS (he escaped before his work too, so that clearly hurt his performance), had beautiful mechanics, and he comes from the same sire as Into Mischief. I really think Shancelot got done dirty, is a brilliant talent and I'm blown away by what I have seen from his babies so far.
Sorry for the nerd out, but I absolutely love this game and I think the sales and trying to find the stars of tomorrow today is the funnest part of this game. Good luck to anyone going!

Little story behind why I choose this song
I have decided to choose "Skillet one day too late" was because it's such a touchy song. Not my usual choice of songs but it has quite a bit to say in the lyrics. I never want to make enemies weather its colour, race or religion, I would just enjoy listening to everyones stories and I would join in the conversaion and be interested. I love the avakin community, there are nice people out there, whether its new or old players. I truly enjoy the community and I will continue to support.

Some details of the video
This has taken me, 3 days to make! The edits that I have done is certainly different compare to Just dancing videos or word lyric videos. There was 3 times I had to use the fonts, mostly because bubbles didn't work in the area (BUG) but rather than that. I think it came out okay!
I will be working on another few music videos with a different version to compare this one. I feel like Version 1 at the moment is looking SOLID which i hope you agree.
The only negative with this verison i find is that, you're reading the bubble for lyrics (GREAT) But there's so much work like having to sync with other dancing, and also having to capture the bubbles within the screen. It was difficult. But I think it worked well!

Hey, ive been away from Skyrim for years and just wanted to get some expert opinions on my mods/load order.
Ive followed some load order guides etc before hand to get a rough list together before coming here.
Some mods will look out of place in the order but this is for some compatability issues etc, does this look okay? Ive added some mods at the very bottom that i dont know where to place also, if i can get some input on those that'd be great.

Even if know one reads this it still helped me feel better as these thoughts I’ve had for a while but haven’t expressed to anyone.
I am a catechumen due to be baptized soon. My priest says in or around Pentecost as we wait for our copper baptismal font to be done being built by a local artisan. For a good while it’s been very hard for me to be to stay buoyant with just a prayer rule and attending services and the such. I was originally due to be baptized at pascha but plans changed I suppose which I will not complain. I find myself persistently falling into sin and I feel like I keep on sinking, being pulled down by something. Unable to grab onto life.
I want to go to confession. I want to be baptized. I want to receive life from the Chalice and healing from the wholeness of my life in Him. I want to feel human. I feel like a vampire, my friends have been telling me I even look like one. Reprobate and a creature born from darkness of my own doing by delineation of my many decadent sins, my self destructive deeds, and dark dependencies. Belonging more to the evil one in heart and in spirit and deed than I do to God. How can I defeat the devil when Christ is not with me? How can I defeat the evil within myself if Christ hasn’t yet driven His Stake☦️ into this Nosferatu, undead, heart?
Though I continually sin, without confession I feel as though my repentance is not working which is most likely the case. Even if I sinned just as bad as I do now I can confess and have my wounds mended and have a place to move foward. But now I feel as if I continually deny Him with my actions and thought and words and I so wish He would take His cane around my neck and make sure I don’t wander from Him and His Flock.
I’ve been feeling as though I don’t know who I am. Converting from Protestantism (Baptist) the first thing many would connect from me is faith in Christ. And then for a a while i felt this in myself until I realized the truth that I had little real connection to Him, if any.

I feel as though it’s hard to move forward in anything but my knowledge. I don’t want just to know things about Christ I want to know Him personally at the Chalice, in myself. I’ve read like 10 books on Orthodoxy since my catechism started. That’s nice and all and Orthodoxy is so vast and deep I can read 1000 books on it and still feel like I can learn so much more.
I have emailed my priest about things similar to this before and he has helped me greatly as much as he can already. I think I just need to get to the finish line to start the next big race after. I don’t know much else I can do differently as of now.
Please pray for me that I may be prepared as much as I can be for baptism. Not fall into despair. And that my depressions may be alleviated.

La définition même du communautarisme telle qu'elle est utilisée dans la politique et la société françaises semble être changeante et variable, bien que celle-ci, telle qu'elle est fournie par Wikpedia, semble être une définition courante :

le communautarisme, un terme politique décrivant des attitudes ou des aspirations supposées au sein de minorités et moins couramment au sein de majorités (culturelles, religieuses, ethniques...) visant à se différencier volontairement, pour s'entraider, voire pour se dissocier du reste de la société ;

Un mot qui, soit dit en passant, n'existe pas en anglais, bien que les anglo-saxons soient communément ciblés dans le discours politique français comme en étant particulièrement coupables, voir les archi-inventeurs.
Ce mot a plus souvent été utilisé contre les minorités *religieuses* de France (en particulier contre l'une de ces minorités...) que contre nous, minorités linguistiques et culturelles, mais il est loin, très loin d'être rare que nous soyons traités de « communautaristes » dans la mesure où nous défendons notre culture, notre langue, notre autonomie (politique, économique, sociale, etc.) contre un état monolingue et monoculturel.
Dans la pratique, ce mot est souvent utilisé pour décrire des comportements et des pensées qui se démarquent d'une certaine manière de la norme de ce que « les Français » font, croient, s'habillent, mangent, etc, (comme si tous les Français se comportaient et croyaient de la même manière !). Pourtant, cette norme est elle-même, à l'origine et encore aujourd'hui, dans une large mesure, la norme d'une petite communauté, celle d'une classe socio-économique particulière de personnes vivant dans un certain endroit.
L'exemple le plus évident est celui de la langue. La langue d'une classe socio-économique particulière de personnes vivant dans une région spécifique a été imposée à tout l'état français, alors que le français n'était pas à l'origine la langue maternelle de la plupart des citoyens français. Malheureusement, la langue de cette petite communauté a été imposée à toutes les autres communautés de la France, et cela a tellement bien réussi que même le fait de souligner que le français est en fait la langue d'UNE communauté française, et non de LA communauté française, et qu'en France tout le monde ne veut pas parler français avec ses amis, ses professeurs, son boucher, son maire, son policier ou l'utiliser pour écrire des livres, créer des films, semble être un comportement hors norme.
Si je vous disais que dans la communauté basque il y a encore des mères et des pères qui parlent à leurs enfants en basque et que ceux-ci n'apprennent à parler français qu'à partir de 6-7 ans, parce que tout le monde en France n'a pas le français comme axe sur lequel le monde tourne, je suis sûr que beaucoup de Français nous traiteraient de communautauristes (même si tous les enfants finissent par apprendre le français nécessairement, étant donné sa dominance absolue en France).
Il encore évident aujourd'hui dans la sphère politique (examinez combien d'hommes/femmes politiques sont issus de quel milieu éducatif) ou dans la sphère médiatique (examinez la majorité des médias français, la musique, la littérature, les jeux vidéo, qui les financent, où ils sont produits et pour quel marché). La bonne interprétation de cet état de fait n'est donc pas celle d'un « communautarisme » des uns contre la normalité, mais de beaucoup de communautés, dont l'une s'est arrogé les outils du pouvoir et a imposé sa normalité aux autres.
Mais ces normes restent celles d'une communauté, une grande communauté certes, mais une communauté quand même. Une communauté qui utilise les pouvoirs mêmes de l'état pour se perpétuer et renforcer sa position. Le seul communitaurisme vraiment puissant en France, c'est le communitaurisme français. Il se projette même en dehors de ses frontières.
Vous savez ce que font les Français lorsqu'ils s'installent dans un autre pays ? Dès que vous allez dans un autre pays, vous vous regroupez. Vous vous renforcez dans votre langue, au fin fond du monde, vous exigez et créez des écoles françaises avec vos propres programmes. Mince, à Barcelone, il y a des boulangeries et des pâtisseries entières qui ont été créées par et pour les Français parce que les immigrés français refusent de manger du pain catalan. Si vous avez déjà voyagé ou vécu dans un autre pays, vous avez certainement remarqué ce comportement chez vos compatriotes (ou l'avez pratiqué vous-même). Un exemple notable est celui des immigrants français au Portugal, qui a été largement critiqué ici aussi : Des retraités expatriés dans le sud du Portugal en quête de la « France d’avant » : « Ici, ils ont le respect de l’autorité »
Les gens qui prétendent que nous sommes communautaristes, vous, vous êtes communautaristes que ce soit à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de la France. Le pire n'est pas que vous refusiez de le voir, mais c'est que par rapport à la communauté basque, une minorité linguistique et culturelle qui tente de survivre tant bien que mal (plutôt mal), votre communautarisme a le pouvoir. Nous ne pouvons pas "nous imposer" à qui que ce soit, alors que le vôtre si, légalement. De plus, le communautarisme français est infiniment plus dangereux, à la fois par son potentiel et parce qu'il a été utilisé à cette fin, dans la vraie vie. Le communautarisme français a porté un préjudice considérable (certains diraient irréversible) à la richesse culturelle et linguistique de la France à l'intérieur du pays, mais non content de cela, il a été promulgué en dehors de ses frontières.
Le colonialisme français ne reposait pas uniquement sur des raisons économiques, mais également sur une base idéologique extrêmement importante : confondant son communautarisme avec un soi-disant « universalisme », la France a étendu son type particulier de « communauté » au monde entier, ce qui a eu des effets désastreux. Je vous invite à lire les mots de Jules Ferry, dans son discours parlementaire de 1885, l'un des responsables de l'imposition de l'enseignement public en français et uniquement en français en France (diffusant la langue communautariste de quelques français à tout le monde en France), qui était aussi un colonialiste dévoué :

M. Jules Ferry. Messieurs, il faut parler plus haut et plus vrai ! il faut dire ouvertement qu'en effet les races supérieures ont un droit vis-à-vis des races inférieures...
Est-ce que vous pouvez nier, est-ce que quelqu'un peut nier qu'il y a plus de justice, plus d'ordre matériel et moral, plus d'équité, plus de vertus sociales dans l'Afrique du Nord depuis que la France a fait sa conquête ? Quand nous sommes allés à Alger pour détruire la piraterie, et assurer la liberté du commerce dans la Méditerranée, est-ce que nous faisions oeuvre de forbans, de conquérants, de dévastateurs ? Est-il possible de nier que, dans l'Inde, et malgré les épisodes douloureux qui se rencontrent dans l'histoire de cette conquête, il y a aujourd'hui infiniment plus de justice, plus de lumière, d'ordre, de vertus publiques et privées depuis la conquête anglaise qu'auparavant ?
Est-ce qu'il est possible de nier que ce soit une bonne fortune pour ces malheureuses populations de l'Afrique équatoriale de tomber sous le protectorat de la nation française ou de la nation anglaise ? Est-ce que notre premier devoir, la première règle que la France s'est imposée, que l'Angleterre a fait pénétrer dans le droit coutumier des nations européennes et que la conférence de Berlin vient de traduire le droit positif, en obligation sanctionnée par la signature de tous les gouvernements, n'est pas de combattre la traite des nègres, cet horrible trafic, et l'esclavage, cette infamie. *Vives marques d'approbation sur divers bancs.

Dans ses paroles qui veulent être universalistes, je vois un communautarisme terrible, malheureusement encore répété en France aujourd'hui, mais pas par les musulmans, ni par les Basques, ni par la communauté trans.

Hello Guys. I modded Skyrim on the steam deck using the creation club uploaded mods and started game in vanilla start with alternate start mod. Everytime I run with Hadvar towards riverwood before reaching the entrance, skyrim would crash. I suspect it could be a mod conflict So here's my modlist:

Two candidates with years of town service between them are vying for the Selectboard seat of Susan Lively, who is not seeking reelection to another three-year term.
Michael Smith, 55, is a lifelong resident. He was the town’s highway superintendent for 20 years, a town police officer, a 34-year volunteer firefighter and served on the Planning Board in the early 1990s.
Today, Smith instructs highway and department of public works employees through the Baystate Roads job training program at the University of Massachusetts Transportation Center. He is also an instructor for his own company, Chainsaw Strategies.
“My desire to become a Selectboard member is not about me — it’s about the town,” Smith told residents at Sunday’s “Meet the Candidates” event held at the Jacobs Road Municipal Center. Among his reasons for running is his desire to increase town revenues and maximize the use of all town buildings.
Smith said he would like the town to call on experts to help create a long-range strategic plan for the town’s buildings, roads and infrastructure.
“It has to have achievable benchmarks that we can meet,” he said in an interview.
“Capital projects are huge expenditures,” Smith added. “Some things we have little control over — things that cost the town the most. Whether I win or lose this race, I will continue to do what I have been doing to help the town.”
Smith’s challenger, William Emmet, 66, and his wife, Anne, bought a cabin in Heath in 2006 and became full-time residents in 2019 after retirement. Emmet was a mechanical engineer doing research for 36 years at the Yale University Physics Department, and had also performed industrial research as well. Since 2020, Emmet has been on the town’s Finance Committee and is a constable. He is also currently on the Planning Board, the Energy Advisory Committee, the Fire Department and the Heath Firefighters Association.
“None of our problems are unique to Heath,” he said. “I’m interested in looking at successful ideas that have worked for other communities.”
If elected to the Selectboard, Emmet said he will look for grants to fund infrastructure improvements, including a new salt shed, new fire garage, and ongoing bridge and road repairs. He hopes to increase the efficiency of town departments through county-level shared services, such as those offered by the Franklin Regional Council of Governments. He would also like to raise town revenue through rental use of town buildings, and pay off town debt.
Also, Emmet would like to see more young families move into this town of roughly 700 people.
The following candidates are running unopposed:
■Town Clerk Mary Sumner for reelection, three-year term.
■Finance Committee, incumbents Edwin “Ned” Wolf and Robert McGahan, two seats with three-year terms.
■Planning Board, William Fontes, five-year term.
■Library trustee, Rebecca Johnston, three-year term.
■School Committee, incumbent Budge Litchfield, three-year term.
■Municipal Light Board, incumbents Edwin “Ned Wolf” and Arthur Schwenger, two seats with three-year terms.
■Constable Steven Thane for reelection, three-year term.
The town has two vacant positions on the ballot: a one-year term on the School Committee and a three-year Finance Committee seat. These positions could be decided by write-in votes.
Polls will be open on Friday, May 10, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Jacobs Road Municipal Center.

Left communism, or ultra-left Marxism, is a form of 20th century radical politics that opposes the ideas and practices of Leninists, social democrats and anarchist subculture ding-a-lings from what its partisans maintain to be an aggressive and authentically Marxist perspective. From the 1990s onward Loren Goldner came to be generally seen as "the leading left communist in the United States." Goldner, age 76, died at his home in Philadelphia, PA this past April 12.
In the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Loren Goldner, “the leading left communist in the United States” initiated a series of meetings of some supposed ultra-left Marxists in Berkeley. I took part. My understanding was that we would act fast, come up with an analysis of the 9/11 events, and make our analysis public in a high-profile way. 9/11 was the first major battle of the twenty-first century, it was the first time that US government-style mass civilian casualty attacks had been inflicted on civilians in the US, and it was a horrific consequence of decades of malignant antics by the United States in Afghanistan. My memory is that the normally voluble San Francisco Bay Area protest ghetto was uniformly and uncharacteristically silent - people were understandably too floored to say anything. It was a unique moment in history - and it was a unique historical opportunity.
Politics is about communication. It was time to communicate. My preferred low-budget mass communications method takes the form of posters on walls - this may be a function of the limits of my imagination but posters had been very effective in the recent past. With this in mind I acquired a paperback book with a color image of Ronald Reagan and his jack-o’-lantern grin on its cover. A recent cover of Time or Newsweek had a photo-shopped image of both World Trade Center towers going up in explosive flames, and my thought was to do 11 x 17-inch color posters of Reagan’s smiling visage in front of the burning and collapsing buildings, captioned in big yellow letters with red lines around them: ‘If you want to find the man responsible for 9/11, go to Bel Air and wake him from his nap!’ - highlighting the fact that the 9/11 attacks were blowback from Reagan and Jimmy Carter’s efforts to get armed Islamic fundamentalism up and running in Afghanistan in the 1970s and 1980s. It was just a gesture and since it said nothing about capitalist exploitation and working-class self-activity it was not terribly radical, but it was simple, it could be done quickly, and it was very much to the point. To do anything public at this point would have been unique and possibly even shocking, and this could have been a rude foot in the door for a more complex and ambitious subsequent message. If anyone had come up with anything better we could have gone with that instead. Time was of the essence in this matter - we had to act fast.
The group met and talked. We talked and met. In compulsively inadequate ultra-left Marxist style we met and talked some more. Nothing happened. Grad student pedantry and incapacity were in a neck-and-neck race here. Our talk had drifted to plans for a 'Capital' reading group by the time I stopped attending the meetings; apparently those who can, do, and those who can’t form 'Capital' reading groups. Even this inwardly directed proposal went nowhere. The group folded. A unique historical moment had come and gone and with it a significant opportunity was squandered. This failure to act is consistent with all experiences I have ever had with people who like to call themselves ultra-left Marxists in the US going back to when I became an ultra-left at the beginning of the Reagan era.
In this and subsequent encounters with “the leading left communist in the United States” I was struck less by Loren Goldner’s voluminous abstract erudition than I was by his complete lack of the practical political smarts that we are forced to develop when we assert unusual ideas in the complex world outside of our comfort zone. Loren had been a left communist for 30-plus years and all he had to show for it was a collection of his writings that are equally unreadable in seven languages on a website. In the 20-plus years since our 9/11 group’s belly button fingering sessions he continued to dabble in his hobby in the form of a website called Insurgent Notes, whose identity with a nebulous “revolutionary left,” clarion calls for “building a radical left in the age of Trump” and paucity of accounts of sustained real-world action add up to a politics of Lite Rock Trotskyism. A few fiery ultra-left “positions” on unions, nationalism and the Bolsheviks after Brest-Litovsk don’t elevate Insurgent Notes out of and away from the harmless left fringe of academia. These putative ultra-leftists don’t even appear to be decisively opposed to electoral politics, in the country that leads the industrialized world in mass abstention from voting and where mass abstention is in effect the number one vote-getter in every Presidential election.
Revolutionary extremism is what it does: if it does nothing, it is nothing. It must be readily visible in the larger society around us. A measure of its credibility is that it will be taken seriously by friend and foe alike. Ultra-left Marxism is supposedly an intransigent form of revolutionary analysis - and ongoing collective public action - focused on class conflict in advanced capitalist societies. Outside of the United States it sometimes is. The efforts of somewhat related to ultra-left Marxism workers’ inquiry tendencies like Wildcat in Germany, people associated with them in China and India, and comrades I’ve met in Europe and South America are the real deal. But in the United States ultra-left Marxism only attracts café militants who should have become tenured professors and who missed their life’s true calling and hobbyists who expect the world to accommodate their timidity and incapacity. They are the easily ignored local expression of a Planck-scale global archipelago of socially maladroit pedants who lack the vision and nerve to establish a readily visible public presence for what they claim to be about.
The United States is in accelerating irreversible decline. This social order is circling the drain. The once large expanding aspirational middle class, a bulwark of political torpor and social peace, is fast disappearing. With the exception of the U.K. the U.S. has a more extreme inequality of wealth distribution than what’s seen in other advanced industrialized nations and in this serves as a model for a relentless upward redistribution of wealth for the exploiter classes of other First World nations. We endure mass impoverishment and attendant social ills on a scale not seen in other industrialized societies. No political or economic mechanisms of the reigning market order will slow this down or reverse this. The United States is owned and ruled by an awe-inspiringly incompetent, venal and short-sighted elite and more importantly than anything else liberal democracy no longer commands the political and emotional allegiance of the vast majority of the populace. In abolishing historical consciousness among the people they exploit and rule, the rich and their political, academic and media servants have also largely abolished it among themselves. This will soon pay substantial negative dividends. A decades-long relentless upward redistribution of wealth has not been an intelligent long-term survival strategy for the owners and rulers of the United States. Some of the sharpest among them know this. In a lengthy piece in the January 2017 New Yorker, the co-founder and CEO of Reddit, valued at that point at 600 million dollars, is quoted as being “concerned about basic American political stability and the risk of large-scale unrest.”

These are optimal circumstances for the emergence of something akin to what the IWW of one hundred years ago was at its best: an anti-wage labor social movement of the wage-earning class. Unfortunately, with a breathtaking and bizarre monolithic consistency, all the ultra-leftists that I've ever crossed paths with in the U.S. since I became an ultra-left forty years ago have made it unmistakably clear that they have nothing to contribute on this score.
Many Marxist-Leninist and Trotskyist militants I have known, in particular Trotskyists, offer a striking contrast to this. Members of the “smash-ist-and-fascist,” Stalinist group Progressive Labor and militants of various Trot organizations often get jobs in strategic sectors, as transit system operators, longshore or hospital employees, and spend decades asserting their perspectives among co-workers. They structure their lives around the fight for what they believe in. Their politics are no good, but the long-term personal commitment they display in fighting for their convictions is superb. Far from being “alienated” this “militant attitude” is a wholly admirable and necessary thing. There is no reason that people with better politics than Stalinism and Trotskyism can’t do this as well. People attracted to ultra-left Marxism in the contemporary United States are incapable of asserting what they claim to be about outside of airless small spaces. Ultra-left Marxist fanboys will hold a meeting, at which they may decide to hold another meeting, and if by that point they haven’t completely run out of energy they may courageously decide to hold another meeting. They and their passively held opinions add up to nothing.

A vast gulf separates passive spectators from the implacable minority who are hell-bent on imposing their will on the world. What we need requires commitment. It takes nerve. It means taking risks. It requires patience. It takes time. It means trying something new because there is no credible opposition now and new measures are required to build one. People who holler about boredom are bores. Mankind does not seek entertainment - only the American does. The revolutionary struggle can be exhilarating. It can bring us companionship, laughs and joy - but these are fleeting collateral benefits of what must for the most part be ardent effort in the face of setbacks. Thomas Mann defines a fanatic as an individual who, on recognizing the impossibility of his cause, redoubles his efforts. Mann may have a point. An ability to dust yourself off and keep going in the face of endless setbacks may also be the hallmark of a disinterested public spirit; you do what you do not for kicks or to accrue subcultural capital but because you know it must be done.

Hey everyone, I wouldnt say im relatively new to modding for skyrim on consoles, but im not the best at knowing where to put creations in the load order. My game crashes now and then. The game runs totally fine in the open world though. I wouldnt say its a big deal but it happens enough for me to know that I probably screwed up the load order If anyone knows where I should I put them please answer.

Off topic but, I would HIGHLY recommend playing with these mods, they genuinely make the game a thousand times better to play.
Besides that, my game tends to get laggy in the different cities. If anyone knows a mod on how to make the game run smoother in the city areas I would be very grateful :)
