Hi! I posted here about a week or 2 ago but deleted the post because I thought I used a different pattern, but now I know I didn't. so I've been crocheting on and off for a few months and i finally made a rose about 2 weeks ago, and it came out really well and i was so happy with it i made about 6-8 more but none of the others came out to the same size/amount of petals even though I've checked the pattern so many times ( and I am using the same hook and yarn ) that I can do it off the top of my head( this is the pattern: https://youtu.be/wjvJ5w9dsrw?si=Mp0WxxMS8TW5ac06 ) yet they never come out the same as the first rose. My first rose had 19 petals and the new ones only have 9, yet I've made the roses so many times so I'm not sure how this is happening, can anyone help? personally I don't want to make those roses with the gaps in each petal so i haven't switched patterns but if anyone has any good patterns ( that are free obviously ) could you please send them to me or help figure out why this keeps happening?

2024.05.14 15:19 bluebellwould Left handed help please

I have got this pattern that I have read through and hope will be beginner friendly as my first clothing project.
I'm going to make it in acrylic so it won't cost too much if it goes terribly wrong.
I am not going to do any colour change, except maybe the ribbing at the finish.
https://burgundyandblush.co.uk/long-striped-crochet-cardigan-pattern/
As a lefty, am I correct that i do the body as the pattern says
Then, when it goes on to the right hand side, I should do the left instead
and then the middle followed by the right hand side (where the pattern says to finish with the left).

2024.05.14 15:17 penninewton Finally finished

Finally finished
I really like to think I am a good knitter. Alas I really am not. I get so frustrated with the speed and can’t knit a sock to save my life.
My daughter’s best friend got married almost two years ago and I wanted to make them a throw. I tried four different knitting patterns and got four separate bunches of yarn and alas I scrapped them all (and yes I know this is a crochet sub).
I was scrolling through Ravelry patterns and one caught my eye - I ordered the yarn and maybe a month later, the finished product. I love the ombré and and happy with how it turned out — why would I ever stray from crochet?

The yarn ripped/ I didn't fasten off correctly?
Hey guys! I made this crochet bag a few months ago but the last time I used it this happened.. I'm not sure if it's my fault (maybe i didnt fasten off securely enough) or the yarn ripped? I'm really sad about it, i love this bag and this has never happened to me before. What do you think i could do to repair it? Here are pictures and in a comment i will post the link of the pattern that I used for the granny squares.

Looking for a similar sweater top (concentric hearts not stripes)
I’m looking for a sweater top that’s similar to this, except it has concentric hearts around the cutout instead of stripes. I saw someone wearing that on my uni campus and thought it was so cute!
I’d appreciate any and all help in tracking something like that down.
Side note: If anyone has any crochet/knitting patterns for such tops, I’d be willing to learn and make one myself (eventually xD).

Sweater or wall hanging?
I’m making this pattern by Autumn Olive Crochet I absolutely love it but I’m not sure if I want to make it an oversized sweater as the pattern intended or just make it a wall hanging for like my kitchen or something. Maybe I’m just too lazy to crochet another panel and sleeves 😅

2024.05.14 06:44 Crazee108 What have I done wrong?

What have I done wrong?
In the middle of making a baby blanket that I put on hold for some time. I lost the original pattern and I notice the top is getting wider than the bottom.
I think I'm accidentally adding stitches. I've been doing one single crochet then moss stitch. What should I be doing on a new row?
It also feels very stiff. I'm using a 6mm as it's the largest hook I have. Is there anything I can do to make it flow better? Would blocking work here?
Thankyou.

I’m trying to weave in my ends in a pattern for a summer top that is mostly treble crochets and some lace-like pattern repeats. How can I do this without being able to see the ends horizontally? Should I move the yarn up the legs of the treble crochets?

Latest project - second project bag
Just finished up this project bag.
Relatively simple, BLO with drawstrings. The original plans suggested a ribbon or rope, so I decided to crochet an i-cord.
I used this pattern with 3 skeins of this yarn.

Updated 2 in 1 isopod crochet pattern! Now with a design for the 4-segmented mini pod and 7-segmented realistic pod!
By popular request, I’ve created a more anatomically correct version of the roly-poly isopod pattern! This now 2-in-1 pattern includes instructions for:
==“Short Stuff”: a smaller design with only 4 body segments. Great for something a bit quicker and retains that smol cuteness to it.
==“Long Boi”: still cute and adorable, but resembles the true anatomy of isopods a bit better by having 7 body segments and 14 legs!

2024.05.14 02:50 Perfect_Agency3053 Intermediate beginner

Hi, I learned how to crochet when I was younger and recently picked up the hobby again about a year ago and have been making different things. My thing is I’ve strictly been making all patterns from YouTube but am wondering how do I learn how to make my own unique patterns and designs without YouTube or a pattern?

Cabin mascot is complete!
My sister is going to be a camp counselor this summer and their theme is some Wild West type thing. She has decided to decorate her cabin with a cow theme and asked me last minute for a mascot. I’ve never made crochet animals before, but this pattern seemed doable so here’s my quick weekend project! I’ve since learned that you’re supposed to do amigurumi stitches differently and I decided to make a version two. But this guy will be ready for the first couple weeks of camp!

2024.05.14 01:22 Particular-Ad-6663 My Second Attempt at Knitting a Cardigan!

My Second Attempt at Knitting a Cardigan!
Finally completed this snuggly cardigan. I messed up on the sleeves because I forgot to increase closer to the armhole join but that's a lesson learned for next time. It took me a couple of weeks, with breaks in-between, to finish but despite the mistakes, I'm happy with the end result, and, it fits me! The button band is crocheted as I did the one before. I'm debating adding some wooden buttons but I'm not in any rush to put them on, if you guys have an opinion I'd be happy to hear them. 😁☺️😁
King Cole Indulge Chunky Yarn. 7mm needles for the ribbing, 10mm needles stockinette stitch and the band I used a 7mm crochet hook.
No pattern. I just worked out how big I wanted and made 1 x back panel, 2 x matching front panels, 2 x sleeves and crocheted the button band.
