I have a Dell Inspiron 15 5567
Last year, I had to replace the internal battery due to it bloating. Bought a new battery from the dell website and had it changed.
Since then, my computer keeps having issues connecting to the charger. It doesn’t show the “connected but not charging” message , but it doesn’t charge at all. Sometimes, it continues to lower the battery % as if it wasn’t plugged in. You have to mess with the charger to try to fix it.
My charger has no visible issues and the computer can’t find anything wrong with the hardware.
Additionally, I am trying to cap my battery, but I can’t install dell power manager, it shows “the update installer operation is unsuccessful”. When you open the installation log, it seems to be a problem with the vendor code. My dell app was not downloading and I couldn't reach the advanced UEFI settings

Hi all, I have 3 older TP-link deco M5 working in mesh mode, acting as access points. I am using the carrier's router (Home Hub 3000) as my home router and DHCP. I recently bought two new windows 11 home edition PC's, within the last year and a half. One is an Acer Sift 3 with an Intel Evo i7 core, with killer wifi/Bluetooth. The other is a budget Dell Inspiron 15 3535 with a and ryzen 7000 series core, with a different wifi controller that the acer.
For some reason on both PCs every now and then the wifi module won't start, code 10, (Power fail). Is this just coincidental? Or could my M5 access points be causing this issue?
I also have two windows 10 machines that have no issues. Scratching my head with this one... Looking for advice or others with this issue.
To fix the issue, I found the easiest is to go to device manager, open the wifi module, uninstall the device and reboot the PC. On reboot it is reinstalled and everything works for another couple of weeks until I have to repeat again.

I have an issue that is kicking my butt and I hope that someone can at least point me in the right direction of a solution. I am building an app and testing it on an Android simulator. The app has a search feature that allows users to apply filters. This feature POST-s JSON to a WCF service using an HttpClient. Each time I invoke the call I get a null reference exception. I have confirmed that the end point works properly using postman and I am able to access other service endpoints that support GET-s using HttpClient. You ppl ever feel bad about your income? Every other day I see post on reddit where ppl are earning 1-2lpm but claiming they are underpaid as per market standards.
Ppl post about buying a second car for themselves/parents and ppl in comments casually suggest cars with price range around 20-40 lpa easily.
Ppl post about getting a new macbook to do "coding work". I am also a programmer but I can run vscode easily on my 2013 inspiron 15.
Disclaimer: I don't wish to bash rich ppl or tell them how to spend their money. I am not exactly an expert in money management but it's a Sunday so I wanted to waste my time ranting. Thank you for wasting your time reading this as well.

Advance apology- the numbers on this post aren't as specific/lined up as I normally would do; I don't have time tonight to set up a proper test, so I just took what I had available and shared that. But I wanted to pass this along while I was thinking about it.
I know that Llama 3 is the current big thing, and a lot of folks with Mac Studios have probably loaded up Llama 3 70b; I'm definitely one of them. However, after playing with it a while, I decided to try out Mixtral 8x22b. I had been putting it off because of its size, thinking it would be super slow, but I was getting tired of waiting for the L3 70b responses and was curious how an MOE would do.
First, I'll say this: for writing bug free code and for reasoning/logic, Llama 3 is the clear winner for me so far. Without a doubt, the code it writes works better, and L3 can solve riddles that even stump ChatGPT 4 (L3 even got the "turn a cup upside down on top of a marble" riddle. Even ChatGPT 4 can't solve that one at all).
HOWEVER- I have to say that WizardLM 8x22b writes some of the prettiest code Ive ever seen an LLM put out. Honest to goodness its just plain purty. Well documented, modular, clean... though maybe a little buggy. lol But gorgeous all the same. Llama 3's code runs amazingly out of the box, but Wizard's code looks like a proper Senior Developer wrote it, while L3 looks like someone who just jammed a script together.
Of course, looks aren't everything and L3's code actually running the first time is more valuable overall, but just a callout. Also, I really like how Wizard 8x22b speaks vs Llama 3; it sounds more... not robotic?
Anyhow, the MAIN reason I point out 8x22 for us is the speed. Wizard 8x22 has a slightly slower prompt eval speed, but what really gets L3 70b for us is the prompt GENERATION speed. From what I've seen, 8x22 produces tokens 100% faster in some cases, or more, than Llama 3 70b. Here are some examples.

As you can see, when the context is around 1100 tokens the prompt generation speed is around 90ms for WizardLM, while the prompt generation speed is around 130ms for Llama 3. And at around 2700 tokens the prompt generation speed is much more contrasted at 120ms for WizardLM and around 230ms for Llama 3.
This isn't a super scientific test, but I just noticed it and wanted to share the results. If you're interested in trying the 8x22 and want something a little faster than Llama 3, this is worth trying. I can't say I'll stick to it, as Llama 3 is a heavy hitter that would be hard for me to walk away from, but I'm really liking the speed difference.

My laptop is 5-6 year old and it was used rarely before 2021. In 2021 i started doing programming and i started using my laptop 6-7 hrs daily from 2021 and i used to keep my laptop plugged-In even after 100% charge. so the laptop battery was working fine till 2023-April, But in May 2023 the laptop battery health got very bad so i got a new Battey ( Dell ) with same stats from my local vender. I used my laptop for programming for 6-7 hrs but this time, I set a alarm for battery charging and now i was keeping my battery under 20% - 80% and after 80% - 85% i used to unplugged my laptop from charging and in April - 2024 my laptop battery again stop charging and it looks swollen so i bought new one for now.
When i do coding i use VScode, chrome and run multiple local servers.
I have some questions
1 > Should I keep my laptop plugged In all the time when i use or follow 20% - 80% rule of charging ?
2 > Should I stop doing my programming work on Laptop ?

Background for the issue / How the issue occured:
About a month ago I ran into a problem relating to my Laptop GPU (Nvidia GTX 1050Ti). I was playing Apex Legends when suddenly my Laptop crashed and gave a BSOD. The Laptop restarted immediately after and i checked for any issue but everything seemed normal. Later that week i was just watching youtube when it crashed. When it restarted i opened up Task Manager where It wasnt showing the Dedicated GPU (GTX 1050Ti) and only showing Integrated one (Intel HD 630). Since then I have not been able to use the Nvidia GPU and have been stuck using the Intel one.
Laptop Specifications:

• Model: Dell Inspiron 15 7577
• CPU: intel i7 7700HQ
• GPU 0: Intel HD 630
• GPU 1: Nvidia GTX 1050Ti 4GB (Not working / The one with the issue)
• Memory: 16GB DDR4 2400MHz (Dual Channel)
• Storage: 1x NVMe Samsung MZVLQ256 (Running OS), 1x Hard Drive 500GB

Details about the issue / what i'm facing:

1. In Task Manager it does not show my Nvidia GPU but only shows the intel HD 630.
2. In device Manager it shows my GPU but there is a yellow error mark over it and when hovering my mouse over it it says "windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (code 43)".
3. I tried opening up the Nvidia control panel but everytime i try it just does not respond. Even when i right click on the desktop the Nvidia Control panel does not show up in the options. The Geforce Experience does not open up.
4. I downloaded GPU Z after this issue. In GPU Z it shows my Intel GPU with all its values and figures just fine. It does also show that I have the Nvidia GPU inside my system but when i select that one it shows all the values for clock speeds etc as 0 or in other cases just straight up "Unknown".

Things i've tried:

1. I have tried reinstalling the latest drivers.
2. I have tried reverting back to older drivers even as old as 1 Year.
3. I have tried the DDU software (Tried to use this software to best i could understand it).
4. I have tried to reinstall windows as a last resort and then tried a fresh install of Drivers.
5. I even took it to a local laptop repair shop who just said GPU might be dead without even looking at the Laptop. Even after looking into it he just somehow removed the Yellow Error from the GPU but that did not change anything with the GPU itself. Then he just handed me back the laptop saying the GPU is most likely dead and can not be fixed as it is built onto the motherboard.

All the above things have been tried but all have failed in recovering the GPU.
Other issues occuring within the Laptop that might seem the cause:

1. The laptop did have a somewhat faulty Hard Drive with a very low health percentage of like 9% but it just works so i have not replaced it.
2. The laptop does have some heating issues. In summer especialy it gets really hot and just starts throttling like crazy even dipping fps from 120 to even 20 most times.
3. Ever since the GPU issue occured the Battery went completely bad and is at about a 20-25% health and the Laptop Keeps heating up even at being idle and extremely hot when just browsing the internet.

I am out of options, Thus i am here for help if there is any. I need to know anything that can be done to fix this issue before accepting that it actually might be a hardware issue and my GPU is completely coocked.
