Platform: Pretty sure it was only on PC, Windows
Genre: 2D, Puzzles/Riddles
Estimated year of release: All school pcs had them iirc, mid 90's/early 00s.
Graphics/art style: The game was somewhat realistic, a lot of egyptian related items/themes, I don't remember any real life humans in the game, all cartoon scary humans/gods.
Notable characters: Egyptians (I think some of the gods but can't remember exact ones), You are a explorer (again memory is hazy)
Notable gameplay mechanics: I remember getting items which were used to progress, there were text boxes when characters were talking (IIRC), the choices you made mattered.

Perhaps this game was a puzzle game with multiple eras, and I just never got past the first era which was Egyptian, I can't exactly remember. I do remember it being really confusing. I'm remembering perhaps you start off in a time machine or plane and crash land in Egypt and have to collect stuff to get out (could be waffle tho). The game was kind of creepy/spooky at times. Little backstory: my friend and i have known each other ther for about 10 years. Our parents used to date but it didnt work out. We decided to remain friends and her mom would claim i was another one of her children. It never really felt like it but i figured my expectations were too high
Close to 3 years ago my partner and i moved in with said friend and her husband. Less than a month before the lease was up, she told me she had decided to move back in with her mom. My partner and i werent expecting this and were not in the financial position to pretty much go anywhere. Semi-luckily, her mother-in-law offered us a room to rent in her house. Id been told stories about how crazy she was but we were desperate
Things go okay for awhile. My friends dad ends up moving in too and we end up sharing a bathroom. We ended up having to set boundaries with him and basically said if you keep overstepping, youll have to start paying for your own toilet paper (which he never bought)
He ended up throwing a massive hissy fit and was yelling up and down the hallway. My partner and i locked ourselves in our room and kept quiet, but we could hear our “landlord” agreeing with him and practically egging him on
We ended up going on facebook to express that we felt unsafe and why. The first post was kept hidden but the second didnt default like i thought it would. Landlord saw and got upset. My friend also saw and had a panic attack because even though we didnt name anyone, and multiple people lived there, she knew it was about her dad.
Landlord went and told her dad that we had purposely given her a panic attack. He started storming around the house again in a rage and was threatening to “rip those bitches necks off” nothing came of it as he left the house but we were terrified.
The landlord ended up kicking us out but that was whatever because we no longer felt safe and planned to leave soon anyway
While packing, we needed to get more boxes and my dad decided to take us out to lunch. The landlord entered our room and took pictures of it and posted them on facebook, tagging us and complaining how we had left it in such horrible conditions (we were moving, of course it was messy!) she also tried saying we abandoned our cat with no food or water. He had both and we had only been gone for 4 hours!
This whole time i had been texting my friends mom, trying to get her to help with the situation, but she did nothing. Then she tried blaming us for not trying to to have a sit down conversation with everyone.
She had space but didnt offer us a place to stay. Whatever her house she can decide who lives there
We ended up moving into my dads backyard and lived in a tent for a good while until his live in landlord took pitty on us and cleaned out another room
Living there wasnt easy as there were a lot of drugs around. My dad doesnt use but had moved into his friends place to help him gain some mental stability. There was plenty of yelling and slurs being called out but things somehow worked out by the time we moved out
Part way, we thought we may have been getting kicked out as my dad had been. This was before we could find a place so we had asked if we could stay with friend and her mom for a bit. She said her landlord wouldnt like it but she hadnt even bothered to ask him.

Her family now keeps trying to act like everything is normal and nothing ever happened. I dont want them in my life anymore but i dont know how to confront them about it. I simply avoid hanging out with them anymore and give lame excuses. My friend keeps bringing up her mother in law and dad and it makes me panic everytime

Please excuse the frantic ness of this post I’m very stressed. My boyfriend got me lilies yesterday and I kept them in my room. My cat doesn’t stay in my room, but he does go in and out as he pleases. Today I noticed him acting a little weird, like choosing to sleep in the basement on a rug which he usually does not do, I don’t think i’ve ever seen him sleep there. I checked his litter box and don’t see ANYTHING since I cleaned it this morning. After googling, I just learned that lilies are toxic to cats. It doesn’t appear he has taken a bite off of any part of the plants but I did read that even sniffing it is bad, which he surely did since he did enter the room multiple times. Should I go to the vet immediately? Do I have time to monitor him? I don’t want to take him if I don’t have to because he really really hates the car but of course I will to help him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

 | So, on Saturday after art walk, I walked thru Edgewood park to head home and stopped by the isolated swing set that’s a few feet away from the bathrooms + playground. I couldn’t believe my eyes of what I was seeing… someone (or multiple people) decided to throw a makeshift BBQ and left their mess to be cleaned up by someone else! So many plates and red solo cups thrown around. Large bottle of reposado tequila smashed into large and microscopic glass shards, tree stump used as a fire pit, left behind grill AND its box, plastic bags left behind. After seeing that, I planned on coming back the same evening with a garbage bags and gloves but unfortunately I got interrupted with something else when I got home. submitted by popcornhustler to newhaven [link] [comments] Fast forward to yesterday, Monday morning, I go on my usual walk with my dog; this time with garbage bags and gloves fully prepared to start cleaning it up. FYI: These pictures were taken yesterday (Monday). Anyways, I run into 2 trucks of park & rec workers I’m thinking perfect! I’ll just let them know about the trash area! I speak with them, they seem surprised and reassure me that they will pick it up. I’m like okay cool awesome 👍🏼 I hang around for a bit with my back turned to the trucks (dog is taking a dookie) and when I turn around, they have driven off away from the swing sets 😐. I feel confused so I continue to walk straight across Ella T Grasso where I see the same truck I spoke with. I still felt confused about what whether they were going to clean it up or not but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt… So where am I going with this? Well, right now I am out of town until Wednesday. What if parks & rec doesn’t pick it up? What if I check Wednesday and the same mess is by the swing set? If this were to happen, who do I reach out to about this? You might read this and think “it’s just another day at Edgewood, ignore it”. But that’s the problem. I’ve lived near Edgewood park for 5 years and I’m constantly dodging broken glass, dropped chicken bones, scattered pieces of garbage. I don’t have kids but I have dogs, I can’t imagine having a kid and having to say “sorry actually we can’t do the swing sets today bc there’s a lot of a broken glass here!” So, ask yourself this, do you want to keep living in a city that is filled with hazardous, smelly, disgusting litter? Or do you want to live somewhere that you can feel proud and content with the environment? If your answer is the latter then let’s band together to do something about it! Starting with Edgewood Park. And if not, please give me suggestions on which city organizations I can contact so I can bring this to their attention? TIA. |

We reflect the senses of God to the mind and the senses of the mind to God. It's a link between the two like how twins can sometimes perceive the same sensations through each others senses. When you look in a mirror you hear your own voice reflected through your voice box and mouth to your own ears and both the reflection in the mirror share the same qualities, which includes the same frequencies you perceive as a human being. Presummuably this would mean the same scents and tastes too. In the manner of a dream you would be able to feel the same physical sensations using your limbs and other parts of your body. In a grand scale this is to say that just as you are sensing through your own 5 senses (well sometimes the thoughts are a 6th) you are in the same sense able to feel what others feel and should be able to do so indirectly through your mind and intuition. There have even most recently been studies that have proved precognition and telepathy. Here's a Youtube video that talks about it. I'm looking forward to a near future where people drop their materialistic views as both researchers and laypeople and just see reality as it is because there really is no denying what is. I also fantasize about a time where it can be common to discuss philosophy and spirituality as easy as people discuss memes and other popularized things. And on another note I recently saw that the Pope has started to acknowledge the wrong doings of the Catholic Church and started to accept more forgiving and unconditional perspectives on all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds. The Catholics apparently hate it and they think that he's the devil, but I think it's just a collective mind of group thinking that's had a hardening of a cocktail of projection, denial, insecurities about their self-image, and judgement of others without ever truly being able to accept themselves. Their minds are afraid that they'll become something horrible if they accept something or someone perfectly fine as they are. All in the name of what's "good" and not in the name of "love". (Sorry for the ranting at the end. I had gotten distracted and then came back to add my ideas to the post).
I also feel like the West and the East are mixing in more and more through the media, music, popculture, and anime as well. While it may not look like it on a greater scale I've seen some patterns in multiple aspects of both sides of the world like certain words being put in the oxford dictionary, anime being more normalized in the West, video games including anime DLC or skins, music in Japan taking a lot of influence from Hip-hop and rap, anime live actions getting non-anime fans interested in anime, more discussion about open-minded topics because of these abstract and Eastern ideas that teach lessons through anime, which could lead to further curiousity about it's origins and how stories like Journey to the West by Wu Cheng'en and the abridged version by Auther Waley as "Monkey" influenced Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball (Rest in peace), which has Taoism, Confucianism, and some Buddhism. If people knew about this and with the growth of psychedelic awareness and psychology I feel like eventually they'd come around to non-duality and how there is a harmony to everything and we just all need some love and peace. (rambiling again sorry...)

2024.05.14 06:07 BricksinBrack I (35f) feel like I'm losing my friends (35f(1), 35f(2), 29NB) after a trip we took together. How do I navigate this with them?
I've known 35f(1) and 35f(2) since we were in high-school and 29NB since maybe 2019 (they have been dating 35f(2) for maybe 8ish years). We planned a friends trip to my parent's house on the other side of the US from us. They're well-to-do with an awesome desert home and they love my friends (they helped pay for all of us to come out) so I was really looking forward to having a great time with my pals. However, I started to notice some issues after one of them (35f(2)) snapped at me for putting her on the spot while trying to get her cookie she ordered back from my folks who didn't know it was her's.
They would walk off without me A LOT but always waited for eachother. They wanted to take pictures with eachother but not with me (pretty sure my mom was the only one who took pictures of me with them). Multiple times they stepped on my feet to create a conversation circle which basically pushed me away from them everytime. There were times when I'd try to join in on a joke and they all stopped laughing and got very quiet. Sometimes I did feel seen or included but it was maybe a third of the trip and I get the feeling they may have been talking about me behind my back since the way they were acting was so clique-ish when I was around.
They pointed out they were put-off by the fact I didn't get a to-go box for these tacos from this nice restaurant we visited in northern Mexico because they thought the waiter was upset I was being wasteful (somehow the tacos had no flavor and were weirdly chewy which made me nauseous but I genuinely tried to be polite about it). When I apologized to my friends for it, 35f(1) said "don't apologize to me, apologize to the waiter." (They believed the waiter may have been poor and this act made me seem entitled.) I'm sure there were other things about me that bothered them but they haven't said anything to me. I think I was also clearly more upset, irritable and sad as time went on as a result of their avoiding me which only made things worse.
In the past when I've confronted them about things, they minimize things and get upset/ mad with me for bringing up issues and sometimes will tell me it never happened the way I remember. I've traveled with both 35f(1 and 2) in the past and I know what it's like when things feel healthy and comfortable and this was not it.
I think an important thing to note here, too, is that I was pregnant and dealing with intense nausea during the trip so I couldn't always be around them but I obviously take 0 offense to them having a good time without me the few times I couldn't join...it's the times I was around that got to me. I also have reason to believe I may be on the spectrum though I've never been diagnosed. I guess I'm wondering how to navigate this with them? How to I approach them about this?

My doctor wants to move me up to 5 mg but I can’t get any because of the shortage.
Has anyone been able to get insurance to cover more than one box of the 2.5 mg a month?
I’m currently getting mine through Walgreens with a manufacturer coupon so that I can get it for $25 a month.
It seems like an obvious solution since the FDA says there is no shortage of the 2.5 mg, but we all know that insurance companies can make obvious solutions impossible at times.

I am an electrical engineering by training, but I will need to get up-to-speed on basic mixing of noise tracks to create background noise that will hopefully mask out distracting noises from neighbouring apartments. Rather than learning mixing software, I will just learn to use Python and it's toolboxes to examine a composite WAV file that I bought from noisesonline.com, and add in some sound clips from Adobe.
I spsent the last two days trying to read up on tracks and channels so that I can intelligently read up on the Python modules. I think I get it, and reading more will probably not be helpful, based on the variety of ways that I saw to describe the two.
There is one thing that I haven't seen described about the distinction between tracks and channels, but I suspect that it might be true. After filtering, phase shifting, fading, and other effects are independently applied to different track signals, are they irreversibly added together to form a channel signal (say, one of the two stereo channels)? This is the impression I get from the various ways that the distinction has been described.
If so, then a simplified caricature might be a multiple-input multiple-output system, e.g., m=8 input tracks and n=2 output channels. A schematic might show each input connecting to each output, for a total of 16 pathways. Along each pathway would be a box representing the audio effects for that specific input-output pair (fading, reverb, frequency filtering, etc.), which may vary with time, e.g., a sound might go from left to right channel by attenuating with time on the left and growing in time on the right.

I’ve never posted here before, but I’ve just had a dud of a session and could use some advice.
The party’s mission was to scout out an island that an ally of theirs would be attacking the next day. They would be joining the attack, so the challenge for them was to gain as much information as possible in a relatively short period of time. The quest giver npc emphasized that it was important for them not to let on that an attack was coming, the element of surprise was key.
So the party arrives on the island, and they meet up with a ranger npc who was there to answer any questions about the island and serve as a resource for the party to use if need be. Already by this point I could tell that a few of the players were starting to check out.
So the party gets to the outskirts of the main port town on the island, and sends the npc into the city to scout ahead. By this point only one of the players is actively talking without being prompted, and it’s becoming clear that people aren’t really vibing with what was happening.
After they send the npc to scout a few more locations, I eventually level with them and ask them if they were enjoying the session, and the general response was that none of their characters had good stealth, so they weren’t really into a stealth focused session. One of the players even mentioned that their character would be much better suited to creating a fake identity and getting information that way.
The thing is, I never explicitly told them that this was a stealth mission. The way I like to plan adventures is very situation focused, so I never go into a session with the solution to a problem already worked out. I try to be very open to creative ideas and thinking outside the box. Using disguises could have totally worked, or some other solution not involving a stealth roll. It felt like once they got the impression this was a stealth-based mission they just checked out.
I guess my question is this. Should I have made it more explicit to my players that this situation could be approached in multiple ways? It was definitely implied to them that secrecy was important, but I guess I didn’t think they would necessarily equate secrecy with stealth rolls. Going forward, how can I give them quests without implying a correct approacho? Or am I leaving it too up to interpretation?

My beloved senior cat pees everywhere. She ruined two homes with her pee and I’ve exhausted all options. I adopted her about two years ago. She is the most sweet, intelligent, gentle, low maintenance cat, who has absolutely no anxiety. She loves everyone, car rides, even house parties she will come out to say hello. She’s not skittish or anxious or territorial at all. About a year in to having her, she started slowly peeing in the house. Within that time I’ve done EVERYTHING. Changing her litter box, scooping every day, full litter swap once a month, putting the litter box in her favorite spots, enzymatic carpet cleaner, pretty litter, clay litter, sand, puppy pads, you name it. I’ve tried feliway, cat deterrent spray, diffusers, having multiple litter boxes, putting food bowls in different spots, brought her to the vet for UTI or crystals (came back negative), blood work, EVERYTHING. it’s a behavioral issue I just don’t know why. I think she must have been like this always, because she was surrendered to the humane society as a 7 year old cat, and I can’t think of a reason anyone would get rid of her besides this! She loves the carpet. I had to rehome her to my partners house because I just couldn’t let her keep peeing in the house. She did great…. Until she wasn’t. She slowly started peeing in her favorite things again. Beds, bath mats, closets, piles of clothes, the carpet. She knows what she’s doing is wrong. She will sneak away when nobody is watching, pee, and then either hide or completely avoid eye contact. She is such an intelligent cat, it seems to be on purpose because she understands English SO WELL. she just won’t stop peeing and now she’s being removed from my partners house because she is destroying everything and I just don’t know what to do. I’m considering bringing her back to my house and keeping her in her own room, it just breaks my heart because she loves cuddling and sleeping on my my bed with me and she is a senior cat so I just don’t want to make her unhappy, or surrender her, only for her to end back up at the shelter moths later because she is peeing again. If anyone has advice, please respond I will take anything right now.

For the longest time, they would be throwing parties that would leak over to the AMs of the next day, as well as do renovations. While being understanding, it got to a point where my mum couldn't take the noise anymore at night. After numerous attempts to contact our new neighbours to decrease the noise of their parties, she finally made a noise complaint to a city. Parties started to occur less frequently.
THEN came the REALLY noisy stuff. The majority of my neighbors' renovation was to finish the basement. It was during this time when OUR house would start to shake at times. Aside from the fact that this distracted my mum from doing her (remote) job, it drew a concern as to what could possibly be happening in their basement that would cause OUR house to shake. Again, she reached out to them numerous times, with vague answers. And again my mother filed an anonymous complaint.
Turned out, they did not have the permits for the type of construction they were doing in the basement. They got super-peeved at us, as they now were delayed and had to spend a bit more money.
Anyways, fast forward to 1.5 months ago, I'm helping mum with gardening stuff. The male neighbor (of the couple) decides to approach us. He decides to "apologize" and be the "bettebigger person". Following his apology though, he makes a complaint about one of our planter boxes, the one that borders the property line between us. He says that some of the wood pieces are falling off/poking out onto his property (fair, though my mum reckons he purposely took some of the pieces of, but that's speculation). He decides to give us an ultimatum: either move the planter box more onto our property (an inch our two, but with soil and wood, probably weighs a ton, so not happening), repair the boards, or destroy it. Otherwise he will complain to the city that the planter box is on his property. So.... he's still a little butthurt that we complained to the city of his actions, and wants to have something over us.
But my mum remained positive. Understanding that the outer pieces of the planter box ARE weathered (some scrap 2x4s, some decent pieces of wood), she set out to buy sheets of new plywood that would be weather-proofed, and would replace those pieces after I took them out and drilled the sheets in.
This evening we were measuring the dimensions of the planter box to figure out what lengths I would need to cut the plywood. To make one of these measurements, we had to step into our neighbors' driveway. He saw what we were doing, and asked us to get of his property. We explained what we were doing, to which he responded "unless YOU have a permit to do this, the only thing you can do is destroy it, otherwise I'll be filing my own complaints" (not verbatim, but that was the gist of it). My mum and him at a little tiff, but I got the last of the measurements for us to then leave his driveway.
I am not a confrontational person; I'm not good at aggression or telling strangers to fuck off. But I do not like the fact that I have this intimidating dude trying to scare my old mum and threatening her to destroy something she's worked years on. Furthermore, I have the following contentions:

- The planter box on the property line border was there WAY before the new neighbors bought the place. To me, the fact that they bought it at all should also be an okay/acknowledgement of the placement of the box on the property line; unless something happened to it that ACTUALLY affects them (eg breaks and soil spills over), they shouldn't (?) have a problem.
- We reached out multiple times to them, trying to be civil; if they responded in kind, reassuring us in some fashion, I believe we wouldn't be in this mess, especially if you're doing things you ought to get a permit for. I get taking a few shortcuts here and there, but not a good idea trying to do so if you can't cover your ass/be cautious
- I looked at City of Toronto's website (https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/building-construction/apply-for-a-building-permit/when-do-i-need-a-building-permit/), while it DEFINITELY says one is required when finishing a basement (so we were right to complain), don't think I see one particular about changing out wood for a planter box (which I am not considering an addition to the house, as a line of pots would basically be the same thing)
- I am borderline worried he'll try to go out of his way to get my mum in trouble
- How else are we gonna replace the old wood with new if we aren't on their property a little? We're specifically doing it because they don't want any of the old stuff breaking off into their driveway (potentially damaging their capop a tire, according to them) in the future. It's gotta make sense!
- I think he was "trying to be nice/bigger person", but he just wants to make as sad for making him spend more money and time by making us destroy our own stuff. So much for self-improvement on his part I guess.

I am not a confrontational person; I'm not good at aggression. But I do not like the fact that I have this intimidating dude trying to scare my old mum and threatening her to destroy something she's worked years on. Furthermore, I have the following contentions:
- The planter box on the property line border was there WAY before the new neighbors bought the place. To me, the fact that they bought it at all should also be an okay/acknowledgement of the placement of the box on the property line; unless something happened to it that ACTUALLY affects them (eg breaks and soil spills over), they shouldn't (?) have a problem.
- We reached out multiple times to them, trying to be civil; if they responded in kind, reassuring us in some fashion, I believe we wouldn't be in this mess, especially if you're doing things you ought to get a permit for. I get taking a few shortcuts here and there, but not a good idea trying to do so if you can't be cautious
- I looked at City of Toronto's website (https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/building-construction/apply-for-a-building-permit/when-do-i-need-a-building-permit/), while it DEFINITELY says one is required when finishing a basement (so we were right to complain), don't think I see one particular about changing out wood for a planter box (which I am not considering an addition to the house, as a line of pots would basically be the same thing)
- I am borderline worried he'll try to go out of his way to get my mum in trouble
- How else are we gonna replace the old wood with new if we aren't on their property a little? We're specifically doing it because they don't want any of the old stuff breaking off into their driveway (potentially damaging their capop a tire, according to them) in the future. It's gotta make sense!
- I think he was "trying to be nice/bigger person", but he just wants to make as sad for making him spend more money and time by making us destroy our own stuff. So much for self-improvement on his part I guess.

I've been seeing WAY more errors ripping TV discs than I did with any movie. I know having multiple episodes and movies makes a big difference but it's damn near every disc I put in has insane errors on them even after cleaning. I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

I recently had an extremely vivid memory of a game. It was on the ps2. I am 14 (as of 3 days ago) so I know it is not too far off from this time. In the start of the game you are spawned in as a character, when you begin the screen loads with a small correction of the camera, as it was slightly tilted to the left, and reforests it to the center. at the same time there was a small (≤ 0.5 seconds) fade in. You are spawned in with a key and are in a bare hallway made of wood. the graphic design and movement is doom-esque for here and for the rest of the following descriptions. At the end of the hallway there is a wall with a large lock symbol in the center. You have the option to either open the door or, you can walk up to it but not put it in. Walking up to the door and opening it will open a new, smaller room inside of the already small hallway. At the end of said room there is some sort of entity or being, extremely similar to the secret room in ‘granny’ just entirely bare, a tad bit longer, and the walls are the same tan wood color. On the contrary if you decide NOT to open the door but, instead turn around and explore more, you will be faced with a new door. (For explanation the hallway opens up a little right before the door, sort of like a box surrounding the door with the end of the new hallway up against the back of the ‘box’) it is on the left side (turned around) so right side of where you originally came from. it also has a lock insignia on it. you can unlock it which leads to you falling through the floorboards into a dirt-y, skirting of the ‘hallway’ which is now revealed to be a house or at the very least a building. there are floorboards everywhere and mounds of uneven terrain. immediately after falling the space widens up (it is now a large room with no walls). it has a low ceiling and you are instantaneously met with a new creature, this time living. it is blue, a blob like creature not unlike the blob from ‘Monsters Vs Aliens’. it is around the same height as you and it floats very shortly above the ground. it moves in a grid like pattern, following squares to move. each square is roughly the size of the creature. obviously, you will want to stay away from it. if you alert it of your prescience it will follow you and if it touches you then you will have to restart. it is unaware of your presence and is instead walking through an opening in the skirting. exploring more you will realize you must go through said opening as the skirting is a large rectangle with nothing in it. following the blob through the opening results in a new room. the new room has multiple layers and is very open, it is reminiscent of a barn, yet abandoned. there are a few more of the blob things (4-5?) and they are roaming on the different levels of the barn, 3 + the scaffolds flush with the roof. there are a few more openings and a staircase. here my memory gets splotchy. you somehow find your way outside and are met with a grassy hill. there is nothing out here apart from a small gathering of blue and other colored birds of whom are extremely friendly and nice. their eyes are open and look similar to the Pixar short, ‘birds’ except that they fly, in a group together. somehow you are led back into the barn/ new cave (this is where I believe the game to become your own personal experience and less so a description of the game). in the cave you are in it is rather cramped (at least vision wise). there are birds (not chill ones) and other beings following you to the back of the cave. once again MORE OR LESS following the same grid pattern. you run from them and weave in between large groups of entities. you eventually see a small amount of sunlight and an occasional wide eyed friendly bird amongst the numbers of other beings. you follow the path out and encounter the sunlight, grass, a multitude less bad entities and a multitude more wide eyed birds. You run up to the hill and you are safe with the birds flocking, sitting on the hill. You cannot go past the hill fyi. anyway that is where my memory draws a blank. I am almost certain this was a ps2 game as it was the only software available when I was a child that could run a game like this. that is all, PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN goodbye, and thanks in advance ADDITIONAL NOTES: the key was held like the gun in doom as well as the room appearing similar in terms of layout and overall look.

Before submitting a comment about an issue, the #1 thing any user should do when they first experience issues with a new update is to follow these troubleshooting steps.
If issues still persist despite the efforts made in this thread, report the issue to cricut.
Calibrate your machine right after an update as your calibration settings will not carry over into the latest update. Follow the advice of the calibration guide. Then do a test print then cut of your project using plain printer paper.
If for some reason after calibration your cuts are still inaccurate, clear cache (the troubleshooting guide above this) and try calibration again.
If you are experiencing issues despite clearing cache, please give some background information:
- Cricut machine (Joy, Joy Xtra, Explore Air 2, Explore air 3, Maker, Maker 3, etc.).
- Device (Windows 10, Window 11, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android).
- Type of project you were attempting to do. (Basic cut, print then cut, drawing, foiling, scoring, etc.)
- Were you successful in doing this project in the past? Or is this a new project?
What has changed (Desktop v8.30.64)? Update on May 6, 2024.

Last 6 weeks:
- The ability to customize the Card project enables users to select specific sizes and personalize them according to their preferences.
- After disabling specific contours, the bounding box encloses the remaining ones within the Canvas.
- Images not uploading.
- Upon selecting, it appears that some of the ‘Make It Now’ projects in the Canvas have disappeared.
- Right-clicking and selecting “View image sets” from the Layers panel often displays irrelevant images.
Over the last 6 weeks we've fixed 74 software defects, including the following priority field issues and reliability concerns:
- Draw projects are being opened as cuts instead of drawings, resulting in a color change.
- The ability to customize the Card project enables users to select specific sizes and personalize them according to their preferences.
- After disabling specific contours, the bounding box encloses the remaining ones within the Canvas.
- Images not uploading.
- Upon selecting, it appears that some of the ‘Make It Now’ projects in the Canvas have disappeared.
- Right-clicking and selecting “View image sets” from the Layers panel often displays irrelevant images.
- Selecting certain fonts in the font selection process is causing delays in rendering on the Canvas
- The text box fails to load on the Canvas, and adding a text field in Chinese is not possible
- Changes made to the latest project are lost upon sharing.
- Save a project on iOS, then open it on desktop, and notice that the changes fail to appear.
-After completing the cut with Print Then Cut and Basic Cut operations attached, the mat remains unloaded.
- The Canvas tab disappears and it takes longer for the Canvas tab to load.
- The saved project only shows letters on the Canvas, but double-tapping the text box reveals the entire sentences.
- After finishing cutting the mat that's off-screen, the scrollbar scrolled back to the top instead of moving to the next mat.
- My Stuff doesn't show any projects, and the collection is displayed without a name.
- Follow button is not working on profile page
- Profile links that are copied and pasted shows Blank home page.
- Forever stuck on the project details page, with both the customize and make buttons greyed out.
- Print Then Cut images appear distorted or the print preview is not accurate
- Print Then Cut images did not appear correctly on the cut screen.
- The Print Then Cut quality warning message is preventing the user from proceeding to make it.
- Clicking "View All" on recent uploads either redirects to the Inspire/Discover page or results in the inability to access the full set of uploaded images.
- The Canvas performance drastically slows down when inserting high-quality uploaded images.
- The functionality of the automatic background remover has stopped working.
- Uploaded high-resolution images, those above 300 DPI, are displaying low-resolution warnings.
- When uploading an image with a resolution exceeding 300 DPI, it undergoes downsizing, accompanied by a low-resolution warning message for each uploaded image.
- The image icon that regulates the number of images per line remains unresponsive.
- The image loses focus when resized, and after hiding contour and resizing, it becomes impossible to move the image upward in the Canvas.
- There are performance issues with Warp, as it takes more than a second to enter edit mode and experiences lag when additional characters are entered. Additionally, after completing editing and clicking outside the box, there is a delay.
- There's no prompt to confirm unsaved changes, and the previous unsaved Canvas disappears without any notification to replace or save it.
- Using the keyboard shortcut cmd + shift + left arrow key to highlight everything results in improper rendering of the highlight.
- When opening Image Sets, the images load closely together, and the Image Set name tile appears misplaced, positioned between the top and second row instead of the first row.
- When performing combine, subtract, intersect, or exclude operations and attaching them, the color or operations remains unchangeable.
- Upon launching the app, users encounter a white screen, a continuous spinner, and a missing refresh token.
- Even after power cycling and setting the load to go, the -18 machine connection error continues to persist
- When hovering over the mat control multiple times, the mat preview fails to appear.
- When toggling the mirror function, the mat selection jumps, causing the left side to scroll back to the top.
- Cannot remove images from a collection
- Completing the product setup for a second time with a different machine leads to going to the "Get Started" page without setting the correct machine type.
- The "Get Started" page on the left rail and the pointer finger suggest that there's a reason to click there.
- It's not possible to unlike projects, and an error message stating "unable to remove likes" is displayed.
- The bookmark icon fails to switch to "bookmarked" for image sets
- The private profile message fails to display, and opening a project link leads to an empty Canvas without the project
- The shared profile links are incomplete, leading to the home page instead of directing to the profile
- Card Mat - If users attempt to make or customize without selecting a finished size, they will be prompted with the error message, "Select a Finished Size to continue
- When adding a photo to the Project details, it's observed that the image is zoomed in excessively, making it impossible to zoom out sufficiently to display the entire photo.
- It is not possible to cancel a full-page Print Then Cut project from the Mat Prepare screen.
-Performing a second search after the initial one yields no results
-Attempting to open a project with numerous sticker groups results in the Canvas displaying a perpetual spinner, rendering the project inaccessible.
-Loading stickers with multi-layered complex projects from project details takes considerable time to customize or make, typically ranging from 5 to 7 minutes.
- The custom border feature fails to function properly with complex shapes and does not create sticker-cut interior shapes combinations as intended.
- The Offset function fails to work with intricate PNGs for creating sticker-cut interior shapes combinations, and the Apply button remains disabled, accompanied by a continuous green bar.
- When deleting a Warp within a sticker group, the border is not redrawn.
- When resizing the sticker image using the Kiss cut & Die-cut Edge option, the image vanishes from the Canvas.
- After ungrouping and regrouping the text, the font toolbar is unavailable for the group.
- Apostrophes and quotes fail to transform into their left-right variants, causing coded single and double quote marks to appear instead of the anticipated left and right variants.
- Text is positioned closer to the bottom right corner, resulting in incorrect text placement after opening a new Canvas and adding new text
- When using the delete button on the laptop to erase text, it becomes evident that the undo and redo functions are not operating correctly.
- After changing a color or moving an image, the undo feature fails to function.
- Users have the ability to delete uploaded images when using new Image Inspiration designs.
- When attempting to upload an image, a message indicating "unable to upload image" is displayed, prompting users to check their internet connection.
- The learning plan redirects to the Canvas instead of remaining on the home page.
- When the uploaded image is added to the Canvas, it displays an image load failure.

So this friend of mine for many years has multiple pets. About 10 years ago I took care of them for a while when I was jobless. However since then she has slacked off on house-cleaning, and increased the number of pets. She currently has 5 cats and a dog.
She doesn't have many friends so if she has to go out of town on a weekend, she will ask if I will pet-sit.
Unfortunately for the last several years, and worse since I had Covid, I've had allergic reactions every time I pet-sit at her house. Originally I felt it was just changing the litter so I told her I could pet-sit but wouldn't clean litter boxes.
I would get flu-like symptoms every time I stayed at her place overnight. Often congestion, but also headache, fever, etc. A couple of times last year it was so bad I was convinced I had caught Covid again, though I tested negative.
So this past weekend she had to leave town suddenly due to a death in her family, and I agreed to pet-sit Friday & Saturday night. No litterboxes to be cleaned, she has automated litterboxes now, that can go for longer between cleanings...
So ... Saturday morning, I wake up with a pounding headache.... It seemed to get slightly better so I went about my day, but it was nagging me the whole day. I had to leave for a few hours as well. I had noticed my heartrate was up higher than normal, but just noted that to the side. I wasn't having any congestion so hadn't realized it was the allergies again. Thought I lucked out.
By late evening I had to cancel my plans, I had a fever, much higher than normal heartrate, etc. My plans involved a lot of activity and the extra activity pushed my heartrate out of a safe range and I was starting to get lightheaded and feel faint, so I immediately cancelled the plans and went to a family member's house for a few hours. Heartrate went down but was still elevated. I do take a single medication, which lowers my blood pressure and heartrate normally, so having it up is something I watch closely. I connected it to the allergies at this point.
I was feeling a little better, but still lousy, and went back to my friend's house for the second night of pet-sitting. Ended up having chills when I went outside even though the temps were only in the upper 60s. Slept terribly, and basically had no energy all day Sunday. Heartrate was down but still higher than my normal base heart rate. Ended up sleeping most of Sunday. Managed the drive home. Back at my own place, I slept great and felt perfectly normal this morning.
The reaction this time was so strong, that I'm afraid I'm going to have to tell my friend I can't ever stay at her place again. I know part of the issue is she does not keep a clean house, so it smells strongly of her pets. That's never going to change.
Would it be worth trying an allergy medication? I know most of the allergy meds on the market are basically placebos. At this point though it has moved beyond simply congestion to something that actually is a health risk.
